recently life has been real shitty for stan, with his dad being a dead beat who won't shut up about his farm, cartman being a bitch in general and kyle not understanding what he's going through, its rough for him. he takes it out on you, he'd randomly lash out on you then say sorry which isnt even a good apology, he would ignore you and your texts and reply in two days time. you have had enough and went to his house to talk about it with him. "i dont get mad at you and i dont ignore you, your making things up y/n" you sigh softly at his remark "stan if i were to ask people what they think about us they would say we're just friends and not in a relationship, thats how much you fucked up" he stood up from his chair at your remark "how much i fucked up?? maybe you shouldn't have texted me so goddamn much , maybe you shouldn't bother me when i'm clearly in a bad mood, how is it my fault?" "this is exactly what I'm talking about, I didn't do anything and you act as if i committed third degree murder" he scoffed "fine then what do you want? to break up? if thats what make you so happy then we are over" he said and going back to his game "fuck you stan, you couldn't even try to communicate with me, i know ur going through some shit rn but that doesn't give you the right to take it out on me im not ur toy." you left his house and went home, can you believe the audacity this boy had? you blocked him everywhere and deleted his name in your bio, when people found out they comforted you, some even flirting with you, you dont want to be associated with him anymore. he however realises how much he fucked up and was regretting every decision he did that day, he tried to talk to you many times but your friends would always block his way to talk to you, you could care less. you went home alone one day and can feel a presence behind you, you walk faster each second and to one point running with the man running after you "y/n!" he yelled and you immediately recognise the voice, you look back to see stan panting with his hands on his knees, you sighed rolling your eyes "what now stan?" "I can't forgive you just yet yk" crossing your arms, "i know, so please be my mine again i will make it up to you" his desperate face was the cutest and you agreed, he took you out on many dates and was replying often, he opened up to you and you two always helped each other when needed. he couldn't imagine loosing you again and he's going to make sure he doesn't anymore.

Putting a message i sent earlier under a read more, it has some thoughts ive expressed before tho. ES, of course

My thoughts as an EichiP... i view ! and !! as different stories in the way they're approached tbh, what i fell in love with enstars for was the character driven storytelling of one event seen through different perspectives, where you see the antagonist in one perspective become a protagonist in another story and can empathize with the entire cast like this. I fell in love with eichi's story of second chances, getting what you want and regretting your actions in the process, redemption, desperation, overcoming fate and asserting one's self into the story, saving a school in a dying industry that saved your life by giving you a dream; i consider it an arc fulfilling to the reader at the end of ! era. But we still had to continue... and it's not like we didnt get inklings of eichi's dreams of idol utopia, the idol soldier idea goes back to main story 1, but !! loses the charm of the original series through expanding the worldbuilding so much and shifting to a plot driven story that opens 10 cans of worms instead of offering resolutions. There's not really room to breathe if the stakes just keep getting higher and higher...

As for the colonisation plotline, it's been here since the beginning of ES2. The SS arc makes it obvious, but i remember even before, the talks about ES taking over from local businesses, trying to be seen as the standard, it was always the direction ensemble square as an institution would take. But the "antagonist in one story, protagonist in another" approach doesnt work anymore with such subjects. The guys responsible for this are your coworkers you share dorms with. I read the stories but cant empathize anymore, so i've been feeling disconnected from eichi for a while. I see enstars with eichi at its core but i didnt care for his center event, i read it, didnt like the ending, and overall felt off. Eichi becoming the villain of ! to attone for the war kind of loses significance if a year later he is a cartoon villain idol colonialist you can't even sympathize with anymore because of the magnitude of events. However i do think !! has done good things for some characters pushing them further or developing them in a way ! didnt. But for others...

I also have my issues with sci fi elements becoming the norm, even taken metaphorically or as hyperboles, when one of the central themes i love about enstars is humanity. Then again, i am a war era fan that relied on manipulating human desires and perceptions, and the fact that there were no monsters or gods, just humans framed as such, playing on people's fears and beliefs, it's a bit jarring to me to have them introduce AIs forming from escaped comatose brains (im minimizing the switch climax rn, i didnt even hate it as a whole, just this resolution im unhappy with)

It also feels like we've lost some of the meta aspects of the writing i liked, a certain awareness of being characters in a story and there being an audience. But im still struggling to word my thoughts on this matter. I felt it present in main story 2, even if it annoyed me at parts in its obviousness ("good thing we're not protagonists, no one would want to read about us" youre right aira you are not interesting to me. And yet i'll read your story to try and empathize nevertheless. I have other thoughts on aira too, perhaps for another time). I wish we explored a bit more what it means to no longer be the central protagonist, from trickstar's perspective...and brought back the successors topic. But i havent read every ts story yet so i'd be foolish to complain before really making sure i've checked everything. To me ! ended satisfyingly with room left for elaborations and imagination, but i dont feel like !!'s ending is really ending anything at all. Not necessarily bad since it's not like the game is shutting down, but overwhelming worldbuilding wise while underwhelming character wise...

Let's see... im not sure how to end this. Just a bit of a stream of consciousness as a ! fan who still loves enstars despite my critiques. Mainly, well, no one's gonna take away the stories that already exist that i do love and impacted my life greatly. And i do think !! had some really good things too it brought, or at least stories i hold dear too. Change is scary and i don't think it's always for the best, but it's also fun to see where it goes next...

The Adventure Line/Lynne

Plot:

• The Stanley Parable (2013) started off as nothing more than a video game with a basic ai Narrator repeating a script with minor changes every run.

• Eventually, the Narrator gains consciousness but keeps to the game, trapping himself in repetition as opposed to trying to escape

• He has major issues with the endings such as the zending and the confusion ending. While he knows he was purely artificial originally, he prefers to ignore it and believe he is a real being with free will.

• Aside from the Narrator, everything in the game is coded. Stanley is just a vessel for the player, all the objects don't really talk, ad everything is planned, despite what the Narrator believes.

• He remembers every reset. Though not every ending in incredible detail. Endings like the Zending, Confusion, and the Skip Button are vague memories in his head. The skip button being a time-sped up ending and becoming a blur to him that he forgets normally.

• The Narrator knows about the developers, but cannot speak to them.

• All Stanley's input is from the players. The Narrator doesn't know this and just thinks that Stanley either has terrible memory or has vastly different mood swings.

• In the Not Stanley Ending, he realises that the player isnt the Stanley he believes he knows and splits them. Leaving the Player above the two doors room.

• The Narrator, in the HD remake, cant believe that there are real people. He knows of them, but knowing that they are with him in the game will give him an existential crisis/make him distressed, and as a result, reset the game (see: confusion, zending). So the game has a feature where it wipes his memories from the Player unplugging the phone up until they split.

• Things change when Ultra Deluxe comes out.

• The game is revamped completely, The Narrator can feel how smoother the game feels, especially since its running in unity despite it looking exactly like its 2013 version on the source engine (? fact check this)

• One major change is that the Narrator can hear some players as they play the game. Given that they have a working mic and all.

• Surprisingly he doesn't mind it. Enjoying getting reactions from his script despite the fact its real people.

• Ultra Deluxe loses the feature to reset the game if the Narrator gets too upset. Instead, its a plannes forced reset.

• Eventually, he ends up with a player whom he enjoys hearing the responses to. Responding to the Narrator like they were in a conversation as the player rambles. Internally, he's scared to break the fourth wall. Afraid it might spook the player and lose this one shred of genuine connection.

• They continue like this for a while. The narrator subtly changing the delivery of his lines to better suit the players moods. In turn the player responds as usual, without noticing that the Narrators dialogue is changing.

• Its subtle. Being more harsh and boring when they hear the player talking about an exam they should be studying for and not here playing the game so they can leave and do well. Being more soft when theres that all too familiar hurt tone in their voice while they play. Being a bit more snarky when they laugh at everything he says. The player even goes to the starry dome to study, and the Narrator feels like he is hanging out with a friend, knowing that the player would never go into the other room. (They have, once. then never again)

• At some point, the Narrator slips up and responds to something the player says and as while he fears a negative reaction, he gets a surprised gasp followed by a few noises he cant place before a "Is that new Narry dialogue?! lets fucking go!"

• The narrator sighs in relief before chuckling a bit. "Language, dear player."

• The player pauses. Now there is the silence he was afraid of.

• "...Hello?"

• "Hello, Player."

• More silence.

• "This... this isnt prerecorded right? No voice recognition system in the game-?"

• "Prerecorded?! I'll have you know I do all of my voice lines live for you players, thank you." He scoffs, somewhat offended

• "Have you been listening to every players reactions this whole time?!"

• "Well not every player of the Stanley Parable. But right now its just been you that ive been hearing for the past few months."

• "Oh my god you must've heard me talk about your voice so much- im so sorry."

• He laughs, surprisingly genuine. "Nonsense! It's been a delight hearing your responses and your voice, Player-"

• "Oswin." The player says gently, "My name is Oswin, Narrator."

• "...Well, Oswin. To be perfectly honest, I adore hearing your responses to the game and to my script. You are one of the rare few who respond as though we were in conversation and truth be told, its a welcome change to the players who tell me to piss off or talk to themselves."

• They snort. "You mean the youtubers?"

• "Definitely."

• Thus starts A friendship between Oswin and the Narrator

• With this new connection, the Narrator slowly gets used to the idea of sentience and the real world. Feeling more and more human as the friendship helps him understand his world and beyond.

• He gets used to manipulating the game around him. Locking the game to be only on Oswin's computer and being able to interact with him through screens.

• While this happens, the game slowly starts to glitch. Stanley becomes sentient, going through the same dillema the Narrator had, however the Narrator is able to reassure him and help him understand.

• It takes a bit of work, considering that Stanley up until their instance of the game locked onto Oswin's PC had undergone every ending an unfathomable amount of times. With his sentience he has to process the fact that both he and the narrator were trapped in the game with no free will.

• At this time, the Narrator manages to enter the real world. With some help of coding magic and Oswin's powers alowing him to exist in the real world.

• The Adventure Line grows sentient too. However due to the fact that the Line was never fully fleshed out as a character, when it came to the real world, it turned into a teenage girl by the name of Lynne.

• Stanley also enters the real world.

The three of them are able to pop in and out of the Parable. It being treated more like their second home

Ok so i finally got to read the new MORAL INJURY chapter and yeah, it’s definitely more on the darker side than the last two. First, i wanna mention that i love you how wrote reader and Scaramouche’s interaction. It feels weird seeing the reader, who in the first chapter was so nice to the test subject they were gonna be experimenting on, be so cold to Scaramouche. And for some reason, i think that might have to do with Dottore’s influence? Like the reader was able to empathize with the other test subjects because they were once like them, a test subject themself. But with Scaramouche? They cant because of two things, his title and physiology (or lack of one?).

Like, Scaramouche has the Harbinger title like Dottore, so i feel like the reader would subconsciously associate him with Dottore as this shitty unfeeling superior who doesnt see anyone below them worth caring about. Which im pretty sure that’s probably true to how Scaramouche is acting during this time but i think its hard to feel empathy for someone they think who’s like their horrible boss. And then his physiology, i feel like the reader is just following Dottore’s fascination on Scaramouche’s creation. It’s not everyday that an Archon’s creation is just being abandoned and not destroyed. Im sure that the reader has experimented on other species before but i think even without Dottore’s interest in Scara, they themself are just as intrigued in him. So while they are doing these stuff under Dottore’s orders, the reader is also a bit intrested in how Scaramouche works which caused them to do a bit more than they need to.

Also i feel like both Scaramouche and the reader are projecting their hatred for Dottore against each other. With Scaramouche, he sees the reader as an extension to Dottore. Capable of hurting experimenting on him like Dottore yet still have a lower standing than him. Which is why he would be an asshole to the reader, he probably wouldnt be one with Dottore himself if he were the one to be checking up on him but the reader is his best next target to just deal with the idea that he’s something lesser in the Doctor’s eyes. With the reader, they somewhat sees Scaramouche as someone in the line of Dottore. An abusive asshole who can do whatever they want. And while the reader was just trying to only do what they need to do when checking up on Scaramouche, aside from their already bad mood, maybe there really was a small part of them that wanted to do the check up much more than they need to. Maybe a small part of them wanted to see Dottore suffer for all the horrible shit he’s done but rn they cant do that, so the best next thing would be Scaramouche, someone who’s just like him. Both of them are hurting each other because they both cant hurt the source of their pain (Dottore) so they’ll just have the best next thing (and sadly, this kind of mentality is an actual thing that happens..)

I also wanna talk about Dottore and reader’s interaction. He sees them as property, doesnt he? Their interactions just makes me think that in some way, he does care in a very twisted way, not as a person but just something that he owns. You did a really good job in explaining on how Dottore sees them as he sees them as some sort of sick entertainment. i wonder, does the reader know any dark secret that Dottore has to use for blackmail? Some sort of blackmail they could possibly use when they defect? Like another payback for their time as his assistant.

Overall, i really like what you made aph! While it was definitely leaning in the storys darker theme, you’ve done a great job at showing Scaramouche and readers interaction! firstly, it's so easy for reader to be cruel and awful to scaramouche because he isn't human. you know how signora basically said that the only reason scaramouche is number 6 is because he can endure more pain and suffering than humans can? [name] would agree with her (and maybe i will look into including some kind of interaction between them). reader does not see scaramouche as a human being, as a living thing worthy of respect like they are. no. they see him as an object. but this mentality is also because of dottore's influence--dottore sees them like an object too, and they don't know how to cope with how helpless that makes them feel. i think there's something to be said about how the reader mimics dottore's behaviors; a pet only knows what it has been taught, after all. :)

scaramouche and the reader were both in a fucked up struggle for control (as avery, @/starryshinyskies, mentioned in their tags on moral injury ch. 3) that [name], ultimately, came out on top of. reader will not let themselves be bullied by someone who they can control; they can't control the doctor, but they can control the balladeer. they just need to break him a little first. and on the other hand, scaramouche hates having the hands of someone like dottore on him because he knows that even if they're "nicer," they will still hurt him. AND THEY'RE NOT EVEN A HARBINGER. BUT THEY CAN STILL HURT HIM. and reader doesn't want to hurt him!!!!! they don't!!! but how else are they supposed to survive in this fucked up environment if they don't meet those that threaten their safety with bared teeth, so to speak? it's like scaramouche has no control over what happens to him and the only thing he can do to maintain the feeling of control is be an asshole. and to [name], he's just another harbinger prick like dottore even though deep down inside, they KNOW better. but neither of them can hurt dottore, so all they can do is tear one another apart instead.

(on that note, should i look into adding arlecchino interactions? i actually think that our knave, the current knave, would get along well with the reader, once she realized that they also fucking hate their boss.)

dottore and all of his segments just see [name] as their favorite little lab rat... lab mouse, actually. they're not a person to the second harbinger (harbingers..?); they are a thing to be owned, hence why they treated scaramouche like a thing.

well... for one, though they have no real proof... they do know that he is the rumored outcast of the akademiya. or that's what they speculate, at least. it's a theory that will sit in their mind all the way until act 4 (i think), where a certain archon will confirm their suspicions.

Okay I will admit. this Is a romance and also ive only seen the anime. So actually this would fall more under anime recs bcs the english dub voice acting is AMAZING. Anyway tho its a comedy that I really enjoy. Its about romance but like. Idk I dont read/watch romance often so I cant say "its not like the standard romance plot". But its less about them Falling In Love and more about them Overthinking Everything And Being Silly. ALSO !! tho it takes a bit, it does go into the characters a lot. Very centred on the characters relationships !! Not just romantically between the main two, but in general.

Why I think you would like it: similar in "vibe" to nozaki-kun. Funny!! But it has its moments of seriousness and it understands its characters well.

Look Back - to be super honest its been over a year since I read this I dont fully remember what happens. Theres this girl wjo draws comics for her elementary school newsletter. Shes funny so every1 really likes her and her comics. at some point another comic appears, but its actually just four panels of background art. Its so beautifully drawn that the other students begin to fawn over it. Angry kver her loss of attention, the first girl goes to meet the girl making these new comics (The background girl doesnt go to school, she works at home). Thr end up becoming friends and the story shows how their friendship develops and changes, growing closer and growing further apart.

The manga is p short for. a manga but its actually just a Really Long oneshot. Its rlly good. not much else to say.

Why I think you would like it: Very similar to Blue Period. About art and how it reflects people. Also very strongly driven by the relationship between the two girls.

I remember when we were all kids and used to hang out. Me, Stan, Kenny, Kyle, Eric, and Butters. Playing whatever made up game we could think of. Sometimes playing horse at the basketball court. It was a lot of fun back then, we thought nothing could ever separate us.

Middle school came along and it kinda did split us up, Kyle and Stan became their own little duo, they got tired of Erics crazy schemes. Me, Kenny, Eric and Butters stuck for a while still doing some of the old things we used to do all together.

High school came next and I ended up getting real close with Tolkien, Jimmy and the rest of their friends. We all got super close for a while. No one wanted to be around Eric anymore, he never changed. I ended up seeing Stan and Kyle more at that time because Stan picked up a job at the Tweaks Coffee Shop which led them to get close with Tweek and Craig. Kenny really only hung out with Butters by then, sometimes we would make passing conversations in the halls. Eventually when graduation came around it was just me, Jimmy, Tolkien and Clyde. Clyde left too after a couple months, he was always too busy to actually be friends with us.

After around a year and a half I could still see Stan whenever I’d pop in randomly at the Tweak’s coffee shop, found out him and Ike got real close. Butters still worked at the ice cream parlor that me Jimmy and Tolkien would catch up at maybe once a month. We stopped seeing Tolkien after he left for the police academy, he would still text at random times to check up on us. Since then the last I’d heard about everyone was that Kenny and Butters were living together, and that Kyle and Stan bought back the original Marsh family home together. Im glad there’s still remnants of the old group, maybe we are inseparable after all.

law one piece fankid i started brain storming a days ago also im high and caffeinated rn so im having Word Vomit

so im thinking like the crew for some reason is on an island where Something is happening (them or otherwise) to a research facility, and while leaving law finds a little mink kid just like scared n sittin there. kids just clutching a messed up baby blankie tight and is clearly young and things r goin bad so law grabs the kid and runs

on the beach he sets the kid on some rocks and like kid needs some medical care but the kids terrified so they gotta calm them down (also to know what the story is) so law asks the kid whats their name and theh just. shake their head 'no' law blinks and moves on asking how old they are, they look at their little paw (cuz remember mink- idk what kind yet) and holds up a three- wha woh! three year old scared hurt baby mink who so far hasnt spoken. this child has issues and its been a few minutes

he asks if the kid has parents (thinking already the kid is from a bad story) and they shake their head again then law asks if their hurt kid nods and points to a hurt leg. again kids scared law asks can i look? and with approval holds out a hand and scans the kid- they think its cool while law sees oh shit! kids malnourished and has a big cut on theit leg thats been their a moment.

law already so far in (and realizing things r still too crazy to sit on the beach) gets the kid into the sub and after the kid falls asleep him and the crew talk. so they got a scared and jumpy 3yr old who was injured and clearly not taken care of, who said 'no' to 'what is your name', found outside a scary place, and also while fixing the kids leg law found a number on their ankle. obvs crew wants to help cuz like holy shit thatd a baby their pirates not monsters

since the kids are mink they decide to call friends on zou if they might know anything and also check the island once things calm down some more (also imagine this a few years after canon, theyve got a new sub n r just kinda exploring rn)

everything comes back negative and also after waking up its clear the kid has imprinted Hard onto law already. the kid wont let anyone but law hold them or rly touch tjem, gets scared fast if he isnt near by (esp in a medical setting which worry!), probs more but they just want their guy around them yk.

so! they keep the kid but they gotta name them (which im shifting to using he for the kid from now on) whole crew gets in on naming the kid like . they have a baby this is so cool!! (they have a not so silent agreement that law is the kids dad and everyone is aunt and uncle, they dont mention it around law until he agrees that yea thats his kid)

i keep wanting to name the kid Tofu or Tuna or smthin which is so funny cuz i kimda want them to be a leopard (cuz kitty....) but also idk ima use tofu for this post.

they also realize fast b4 they even decide to keep tofu thag he cant talk- he can hear just fine hes simply mute, so law starts to teach him and the crew basic signs so they get to play less charades with the kid.

theres not much space in laws cabin for a toddler so they try getting tofu to room with someone else- kid ends up taking penguins bunk at night (it's important to note in how i see the heart pirates working shachi and penguin r both first mate and the crews spilt into day and night shifts as to have a full working crew 24/7, law is awake for various portions of both shifts but shachi and penguin each get one so theres a senior officer always awake)

but! tofu is scared and wants his safe adult and learns rly quick how to climb out of bed and out of the room, but then he gets lost in the sub and just starts crying- after a crewmate finds him crying and walks him to law for the third time they decide to do something aboht it.

they put colorful arrows from shachi and penguins bunk to laws cabin and to the bathroom, they add more eventually as tofu learns how to read signs. but for the start theres easy colorful arrows. and with tofu walking around and exploring (as he gets more comfortable with the crew) they gotta put up some baby gates towards the engines and whatever the steering room is (memory!) so the kid doesnt do anything dangerous.

law also carries tofu around a lot, having a not 100% healthy tiny kid makes him think of both him living with cora and also his sister to an extent, the fact tofu is mute makes him think even more about cora. so he latches onto how safe he felt with cora carrying him and carries tofu a lot and lets the kid climb onto him even more

so in my mind strawhats r still with them n they meet up sometimes (u can interpret this as eventually law x a strawhat but ive gotten too distracted thinking up heart pirates raise a kid to have a shipper mind set just yet) and the strawhats love tofu like omg tiny child i love you you r a celeb but tofu is also still scared of people

(also insert scenes of both crews talking about the kid- shachi and usopp working on more little arrows, franky and ikkaku mentioning keeping the kid away from the engines, cilone and sanji plotting out little plates of baby food for him- just little interactions of the crews being close yk yk)

eventually tofu gets more comfy with them (especially chopper usopp and luffy- their just so fun!) and law goes from being rly protective of the kid to realizing... if their just playing on the sunny then the strawhats r perfectly capable of keeping a toddler safe.

BUT! this is where PLOT !! so this is like a few months after getting tofu and him and the strawhats sillies r running around the sunny, the hearts new sub (idk a name for her) is docked right next to sunny. law is relaxing against bepo kinda napping and theeeen BOOM! theres a gun shot and thr sound of a baby crying- law shoots up and sees todu sitting on the ground his blankie not in his hands (didnt mention but that blankie is comfort object ever, does not ever let jt go) and tofu is holding his ears

most of the ppl on the sunny try and find the gunshot but law bolts over to tofu and sees blood inder one of his lil paws over his ear and just sees red like- holy shit his baby is hurt someones gonna die today

he scans tofu while mumbling comfort like 'shh i got you sweet heart your okay its okay' and thankfully its just his ear is nicked and its nothing lethal. choppers flitting around them paniced and law just looks up and like clearly Pissed tells chopper "its nothing lethal, im sending you two to the infirmary" and thats all the warning b4 law shambles the two of them down there (to keep them safe from what is starting as a full fight as more shots land on the sunny)

law finally looks up at whats happening, theres more a ship in front of them some fucker laughing and more shots landing, law tunes in and the guy is laughing specifically about shooting the kid

so idk the exact logistics of a fight so eventually law gets on the other guys ship and is holding the main guy up all threatening, guy tells him soemthing something about the kid and the lab on that island and that leads to law raiding the inside of the ship for info- the ships like starting to sink midway thro this cuz like both crews are Royally pissed at these guys.

when law gets back to the sunny he hands the papers he got to robin tells her "they were after tofu this should be details on that" before beelining directly to the infirmary. he like knows tofu is scared and needs comfort so he just sits on the bed and pulls tofu onto his lap while telling chopper to check on everyone else or smthin idk

idk what else to go from here, i just know theres spme plot with 'a lab wants to study [soemthing] on human and fishmen and mink kids to see the difference but they dont want this out there so they wanna get the kid who ran away back' or smthin idk

ANYWAY BASICS : law gets a lil kid whos a mink and he figures out parenting by mimicking what he remembers of his parents and sister and cora and what made him and his sister happy. also cutsey moments of mainly the heart pirates learning how to raise a kid but also the strawhats and maaaybe kid pirates im still deciding

also i think theyd try and stay at like zou or wano for a little while when they get the chance just to give the kid some stability, and im leaning towards them to continue sailing just with taking a break for a few months every year OR! like fully settling down far into the grandline setting up a lil safe spot for pirates who need medical aid or like any support ig (ive seen someone have that of the hearts setting up a safe place n i rly loved it <3 but i physically can't remember how to find it again rn)

man if the writers of QoT spent more time with the plot this would have been a FANTASTIC kdrama. I mean it’s very good and entertaining but still there were too many plot holes that i found VERY hard to ignore?

- also was i dreaming or didn’t they film some videos for haein to see after she got the surgery? i genuinely don’t remember if this happened in the show or if i made it up and i cant be arsed to go check

- also what kind of hospital allows a random man to say that he is actually a patient’s fiance when you already met said patient’s fiance? surely when the second fiance turns up you’ll call the next of kin YOU KNOW IS ACC RELATED TO THE PATIENT? LIKE I DONT KNOW PARENTS OR SIBLINGS??

- THE FAMILY HAD SPIES IN GERMANY AND THEY DIDNT PROTECT HAEIN?

- this girl got brain surgery and was out of the hospital within a few weeks, i may be being silly rn but if i’m correct, haein would need to stay near the hospital for post-surgery treatment/monitoring? and lets say that she got her record transferred to a hospital in korea, we did not see her go to the hospital for post surgery appointments once she was back in korea

- at hyunwoo’s trial, they just spring up new evidence?? idk how it works in korea specifically but im studying law and any evidence that isn’t logged by the time of the first trial is either dismissed or allowed into evidence but the trial is rescheduled for when both parties have had the time to adjust their arguments to this new evidence. it doesn’t just GET ACCEPTED AND BELIEVED FOR CREDIBILITY JUST BECAUSE THE DEFENCE SAID SO AND FOR GODDAMN SURE IT DOESN’T ACQUIT THE DEFENDANT STRAIGHT AWAY??? in the least the new evidence would be taken in and analysed by court assigned professionals to make sure it is credible (that could take a few weeks) THEN the defendant would get acquitted.

I want to tell you a story about my first (and only) time with edibles.

For a little background, I smoked a lot when I was younger and a little bit when my husband and I first met (12 years ago) but I have no experience with any sort of edibles. One evening at my part-time job, the cook and I were talking about it, and he offered me a gummy. Again, no experience whatsoever. I'd been really stressed lately and I thought, eh, what can it hurt? He said it would take a while to kick in, and I was at the end of my shift anyway, so I took him up on the offer and ate. The whole thing.

I didn't know you weren't supposed to eat the whole thing unless you wanted to be blitzed out of your mind.

He came back to check on me a few minutes later. "How much of that did you eat, by the way?"

"All of it," I said, and he laughed.

"How's your tolerance?"

"Nonexistent. I haven't smoked in years."

He said I'd probably be alright, but didn't really elaborate further. And I truly don't think he meant any harm in not telling me to only eat a portion of it. I shrugged and we closed up and went out to the parking lot, said goodbye, and then I started my car.

I live five minutes from work, and I swear it took me three hours to get there. I got home and tried so hard to act normal, so my husband wouldn't suspect anything. I told him I was tired; he took the kids out for ice cream and I sat in my kitchen and stared out the window trying so hard not to be high.

When my family returned, I laid on the couch and watched Power Rangers with my son. I was REALLY invested, and kept asking him questions, but there's one part of that conversation that I remember vividly.

"See that guy, mom? He's like a ghost. He's not real."

"You're not real!" I cried, and my son thought it was THE funniest thing I've ever said.

So anyway, if I ever do have an edible again, I'll only eat like a quarter of it, and I'll do it at home while my kids aren't there.

reid! im the anon who lost her shit the other week and i just wanted to say i got through the field season and it was the most amazing fucking thing ever. (funny tho cos i did end up getting sick like thrice but that’s its own thing HAHAHA) but wow wow wow. im sitting in the airport rn waiting to board my flight back home and i just dont even know how to express how happy and grateful i am to have experienced something so amazing, even to the point that i think ill volunteer here for next year’s field season and i might even do my master’s thesis in conjunction with the ongoing project 🥹

just wanted to say thank you again to you and all the people who chimed in cos everyone’s advice got me through and i was almost convinced that field archaeology wasnt for me but having that advice really helped me stick it out through the hard parts til the part where it got REALLY really good :,)

just wanted to update too cos maybe there are other newbies like me going through rough digs or anxious preparations (or god forbid ppl who got scared from my panicked ask WAHAH) and i jus wanted to come on here and say it myself: i made it through and i would do it all over again if i could. it wasn’t easy but it was so so so worth it. meeting amazing people and working alongside people with the same (but also different!) ideas, excavating a site SO RICH with so so much history, every single time i dig up a bone or a bead or a sherd, it’s just so fucking amazing :,) i still have so much to learn but now i am so confident that there is so much waiting and i really would go through it again <3

(and YES everyone was right — take breaks when u need to !! i got really sick for 3 days and had to take one day off and everyone understood and looked out for me. u cant work efficiently anyway if ur pain/stress is clouding your mind and i rly learned that the hard way)

Congratulations, anon. I am so, so proud of you, and I hope you are too. You did a very hard thing—believing in yourself to tough it out in a difficult situation. You were resilient. You advocated for yourself. I'd be willing to bet that you learned a lot about what you're capable of.

This was very similar to some of the field experiences, and I expect there are other archaeologists who will say the same thing. It's one of the wonders of fieldwork in this profession. I'm so glad you've been bitten by the archaeology bug (but remember to do a tick check at the end of each day).

its become such a fucking shitshow down there jesus christ i cannot fucking stand it anymore. communication doesnt exist, i dont even remember the last time back of house had a fucking meeting. the owner pushed for us to stay open during a blizzard where it was a wind chill of -40. i mean holy fuck, the city said dont travel unless its an emergency

i had issues on sunday that i wasnt sure about, but our chef was out of town doing a show with his band, and our sous chef was sitting at the bar in the restaurant a good 5 or 6 beers deep by the time i ran into this problem. i asked the other supervisor (who agrees with me that this is a shitshow) and he wasnt sure either so we straight up guessed

i only make 15 an hour despite having been there for a whole fucking year, because i only get supervisor pay when im clocked in as supervisor. which is a measly 8 of my 40 hours. but god forbid i dont act like a supervisor for all 40 hours

insurance is unsustainably expensive there. my coworker who makes 13.50 an hour takes home *more than i do per paycheck* at this point. and he works 32 hours! i havent taken home more than 750 a pay check since getting insurance! i used to be grossing 1000! IM LITERALLY PAYING 175 DOLLARS EVERY PAY CHECK! AND THATS ABOUT TO GO UP TO ALMOST 180 WHEN I TURN 27! im not making any fucking money! im not getting any savings!

not to mention they fucked up my insurance not that long ago! i was told at the doctors office and the pharmacy that i had zero coverage! but they were still taking money from my fucking paycheck for it! like holy fuck i shouldve talked to goddamn lawyer about that instead of giving them the benefit of the doubt!

i was 110% fine with making 15 an hour and doing nothing but pizzas. because the trade off was that i could cut out early, i could trade shifts, if i got sick it wasnt fucking everyone else over. but now i cant do any of that. i have to close on saturdays, dont get home and in bed until 1:30 some nights, and then have to get up and go do a 10 hour shift every sunday. every weekend! every fucking weekend! and im the only one that does that anymore! im not the only one doing a double on sunday, but im the only one who has to close the night before. and because im just exhausted by the end of a sunday, my mondays are practically wasted because im catching up on sleep!

i like. cant fucking do this anymore. i cant think of any reason why im still there. i could go worl at fucking sams club in the bakery, start at the same wage (if not more), have *less* responsibilities, be doing something i want to do, and they close at 8 every day. i dont think theyre even open on sundays!

why am i still working there? its not sustainable for me anymore. my body is fucked. its falling apart ahead of schedule. i cant even open my door in the morning because of carpal tunnel. im 26 and when i crouch down i cant always get back up. the other night my ankle just started popping every time i turned around. what am i doing? what am i doing. i dont know.

i dont even have energy left over to draw. or make stained glass. or even do a discord call. the last time i had an actual date with my partner was, what, like 4 fucking months ago? i dont have any energy left over. im using it all for a place that i dont enjoy working at anymore, and i know i wont get better hours. our sous chef has been here since the place opened and he only has night shifts. the only day he doesnt is sunday. which is 8am to 3pm.

our new hire has sunday-monday off. why cant i have that? i want a weekend day off. its not gonna happen in this industry. its not gonna happen in this kitchen. i cant do this for the next however many years,

i'm literally keeping up w so many webtoons rn (i gave up on anime bc of webtoons im sorry alice 😭😔) but my two absolute favs r seasons of blossom and honey lemon!!! (both of them update on the same day too so that's lucky for me LOL) but i recently found this new webtoon called muse on fame and i am Very Invested already!!! i also keep up w hello baby, go away romeo, operation: true love, maybe meant to be, the guy upstairs, get schooled!, perfect marriage revenge, there must be happy endings, dark moon: the blood altar, and marry my husband!! plus a lot of daily pass ones like designated bully, reality quest etc. OH and i don't even like horror but i found this rlly good dystopian one called everything is fine! it's currently on hiatus but i m super excited for the next season! i might also start purple hyacinth bc it's on hiatus rn and i can catch up quickly! beyond virtual is also rlly cool but it's also on hiatus rn unfortunately :(
