dinner for two
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: hubby!mingyu x wifey!reader
wc: 476
genres: romance, established relationship (married), half proofread, isn’t afraid to speak his mind mingyu with an easily offended reader.
a/n: i literally based this off that one business proposal scene between the side couple… it was so cute & made me think of mingyu so pls enjoy huhu :P
mingyu had just gotten off of work. a deep sigh coming out of his mouth as he unlocked the front door, setting his shoes off to the side and taking off his jacket.
“oh, you’re home!” your voice yelled out. your scuffling could be heard from afar. you couldn’t help but grin at your husband finally coming home after being alone for the whole day.
although mingyu was exhausted, he tried his best to give you a smile once he trailed to the kitchen. “you cooked?” he gave you a back hug as you washed the last few dirty utensils.
your head nodded eagerly. “but i don’t know if it tastes good,” you spoke condescendingly whilst wiping your hands. “i’ll plate it for you.”
after a couple minutes, you finally guided yourself over to the dinner table with a bowl in your hand. you gently set down the hot dish and sat down quietly.
mingyu hesitated a bit, and you could clearly see it on his face. “hurry and eat it! you’re making me anxious!”
of course, the reason why he was even acting like this was because you never cooked.
whenever you were home alone you’d have instant noodles or take out which made mingyu slightly disappointed at your poor diet choices, but what could he do? he was rarely home because of his schedule, but makes a dish once he gets back for the both of you.
his expectations were still optimistic nonetheless. “ah,” he uttered and cleared his throat. “sorry.” he took a deep breath before eventually putting the spoon to his mouth.
he paused.
“is it good?” you perked up in your seat with your mouth slightly opened in amusement.
it was salty.
he could feel his soul crush as he felt his sodium levels rise in a matter of seconds.
“i-it’s good,” mingyu’s voice mumbled.
you pouted a bit at his response. “it doesn’t sound like you mean it. be honest, come on!”
he sits up in his chair. a deep exhale comes out of his mouth as he sets down his utensils. “if i be honest i don’t know if you’ll like it.”
“just say it!”
“it’s salty,” he states in a faint tone. your ears don’t pick his words up, though. you flash him a smile and tilt your head which makes mingyu feel guiltier than he already is.
“it-it’s salty!”
your smile drops. “the veggies are too soft,” he continues as if you weren’t already disappointed. “and the rice—i don’t even want to talk about that. how do you fail rice?”
he immediately covers his mouth with his hand at the realization of what he just said. a sigh of defeat comes out of your mouth at his too honest response. “is that all?”
“i’m sorry. so, so sorry.”
“whatever, just drink the water. i bet it’ll be the best part of the meal.”

Another vore story inspired by a fun roleplay! Two bros, Jared and Porter, have dinner together, and Porter becomes part of the menu.
Jared and Porter met through a mutual friend who had invited them both over to watch a game a few weeks ago. The pair vibed well with each other and decided to hang out a few more times, which leads us to the main event, or should I say - feast.
Porter came over to Jared’s flat for another game. By the end of their little watch party, the pair of them were starving and Jared suggested Porter stay for dinner.
“I don’t wanna put you out, I can wait to make something when I get home,” Porter replied to him.
“Plenty of food right here, my guy,” Jared said, placing a rather large hand on Porter’s shoulder.
Porter shrugged. Why not stay? Jared got to work making enough fried rice, vegetables, and chicken, to feed a sizable commune.
“I haven’t gotten in meal prep, but I hear it can be super helpful during the week,” Porter said, assuming Jared was making lots of extra to freeze and have later on.
“Oh? Buddy, I don’t think I meal prep in the way you’re thinking. I could eat all this food and more,” Jared said, slapping his gut, and jiggling his 400 pound frame.
Porter lifted his eyebrows slightly, impressed by the big man’s hunger. He offered to help prepare the food, but Jared brushed him off.
“All you gotta do is relax. I got you,” Jared replied, patting Porter on the back. As Jared got close to Porter he could smell his natural scent, and his stomach began to rumble loudly.
A kitchen timer later, Jared and Porter were back on the couch eating huge portions of the dinner together out of oversized mixing bowls. In what seemed like only seconds, Jared tipped the bowl back into his mouth and swallowed the last of the food. Jared got up, and got another helping… and another… and another…
“Hey, should I fry up some sausages? I could do with something thicker sliding down my throat,” Jared suggested.
Porter, who was still working on his first bowl of fried rice and assorted veggies and such, replied, “I think I’m good, this bowl is great for now.” Porter watched Jared get up and get to work again, frying sausages and absent mindedly rubbing his gurgling belly, just barely beginning to distend. Jared didn't even stop to put the sausages on a plate, but just turned off the heat, and swallowed them each whole in succession, then chugged a large glass of water.
Jared came back and crashed onto the couch, rubbing his belly in a clockwise motion. It gurgled and groaned, beginning to digest the monster amount of food inside.
“Are you still hungry or is your belly just gurgling as it digests that big meal?” Porter asked, in awe of the belly in front of him, rising and falling with Jared’s breath.
“Bro, I’m always hungry, sure it’s digesting, but it could always welcome more,” Jared replied, “Hey you gonna finish that?” Jared said pointing at the half eaten bowl of food Porter had been holding. Porter shrugged again with a smirk and handed it over to Jared, who threw back the bowl into his mouth and swallowed the rest whole.
“Hey - I think there was a fork still in there,” Porter started, but Jared burped and chuckled at Porter.
“Caught it with my tongue,” Jared replied, placing down the fork.
A moment passed, filled with the sounds of belly gurgles and breathing. Porter broke the silence, “You know those intrusive thoughts - or is it impulsive - whatever it is,”
“I know what you’re saying.”
“Yeah those thoughts - I just had the random urge to put my ear to your belly and hear those gurgles up close,” Porter said with a nervous laugh, “Sorry, was that weird?”
“Yeah, it was weird,” Jared replied, “But why not, go ahead bro,” Jared slapped his gut and it let out a bigger gurgle.
Porter felt committed to the bit now, and leaned in close and put his ear to Jared’s gurgling belly. The stomach reverberated through him, making him shiver slightly. Porter considered the fascinating human stomach, and how it’s basically a big balloon inside us.
“I wonder how much more you could fit inside,” Porter said under his breath, rubbing Jared’s belly, “What else do you have in the kitchen? There’s bound to be something more in this house to satiate you.”
Jared took a deep breath, smelling Jared’s hair and neck, and realized his mouth was beginning to water again, Jared had an impulse himself and leaned forward a little to put his mouth close to Porter’s head, then shook himself out of it, “Food, in the kitchen, yeah, I have some grapes in the fridge I think.”
Porter got up, volunteering to grab the grapes, and glanced back to see Jared’s face looking after him with a hunger in his eyes. Porter thought to pluck some grapes off their vine, but then decided to just bring the entire container to Jared instead. He glanced over at Jared and saw him licking his lips, and was surprised to realize he could hear Jared’s stomach gurgles all the way in the kitchen.
“I’m curious, what’s the most you’ve eaten in one sitting?” Porter asks, as he hands the grapes to Jared, who slows down his intake by having just a few at a time, swallowing the clusters whole.
“One sitting? Hard to guage… probably that buffet…” Jared considered, swallowing another bunch of grapes with a slurping sound.
Porter watched as the lump in Jared’s throat traveled down and landed with a little plopping sound, barely audible over the gurgling. “How many plates did you eat at the buffet?”
“Plates?” Jared replied with a smirk, “Hmm if I had to count, maybe like 150?”
“150 Plates?!” Porter realized he was beginning to show a hard on through his pants, and shifted a bit to hide it. “Man you could probably swallow a whole cart of food and still have room to down a waiter!”
“How did you - what do you mean a waiter?” Jared looked puzzled.
Porter laughed, “Well, yeah. I hope this doesn’t sound like making fun of you, I think it’s cool how much capacity your stomach must have.” Porter realized his heart was racing, “Honestly you could eat me and barely noticed a dent in your gut.”
Jared looked at Porter with a serious expression that melted into a curious smile, “You - you want me to - eat you?” His mouths continued to water, and his heart began racing aswell.
Porter shivered, “No - like - I mean you could, but like - it’s a joke,” Porter replied with more unconvincing laughter. Porter wondered if this was some strange foreplay for sex. Jared wondered if Porter’s hesitation was foreplay for vore. To be safe, Jared shrugged it off.
“I’m just messing with you, bro,” he said, “I mean you do look pretty tasty, don’t get me wrong, but it’s chill, bro,” Jared said looking Porter up and down, rubbing his gut and thinking of the quickest way he could get him down into his gullet.
Porter took a deep breath, looking at Jared’s belly, mesmerized. “If you could, I mean like - do you really think you could eat me? Like swallow me whole?” Porter looked up to Jared’s hungry eyes. “That’s crazy, isn’t it?” Porter asked, beginning to hope it wasn’t crazy at all.
Without even realizing he was doing it, Porter got up and straddled Jared, putting both of his hands to the sides of Jared’s belly, rubbing it, and lifting his shirt up to get a better feel of it. It was a gorgeous belly. He wondered if he could fit in it.
Jared’s stomach gave a particularly loud rumble “Hey, I’m still hungry, those grapes didn’t hit the spot.”
Porter looked up at his eyes and spoke slowly “Well - maybe an extra 250 pounds - of man might do the trick.” He smiled with a mixture of fear and curiosity.
“Only one way to find out,” Jared replied, taking his shirt off, and helping Porter begin to strip as well. Porter took a deep breath to slow his anticipatory shaking, leaned down and kissed Jared’s belly. Jared gets up and motions for Porter to sit back on the couch.
Jared took Porter’s feet up and opened his mouth wide, leaning forward over them and swallowing hard. Porter shivered, his feet being tickled by Jared’s tongue, uvula and then tightly squeezed down his throat. Jared swallowed hard again, leaning forward and Porter felt his body lift off the couch momentarily as Jared pulled him deeper.
Jared and Porter shared a look of shock, surprised how easily Porter was sliding down Jared’s gullet. Jared’s shock turned to determination as he grabbed Porter’s sides and shoved them deeper into his mouth. Porter felt Jared’s saliva coating his legs as they were tightly squeezed down his throat. It was like getting deepthroated in the most literal sense.
“Wow you're mouth can really stretch!” Porter said, inbetween heavy breaths and sensual moaning. Jared replied with some mumbled exclamations, and his stomach replied with another large gurgle. The pressure of Jared’s throat let up on Porter’s toes and feet, as they plunged into a mixture of the dinner and grapes they ate before.
“I'm beginning - to think - you might be able - to actually - eat me” Porter breathed out in amixture of sensual elation and panic. His hands grabbed hold of Jared’s belly from the outside, almost subconsciously looking for an anchor to the world outside, as he came to the realization that he was still getting eaten. Jared’s stomach growled in protestation.
“Man, that was so hot - but maybe we should slow down. My legs are already feeling a bit cramped inside, I don't wanna puncture your stomach!” Porter said, his legs squirming around inside Jared’s belly and pushing against the stomach walls, as his hands feel them from the outside.
Jared’s eyes close in pure contentment that you might see on someone breaking their fast. He moans and gulps once again, pulling Porter’s torso into his throat. Porter tried to take a deep breath but couldn't expand his chest with the growing pressure of Jared’s throat. Instead he let’s out a little air in the form of a submissive moan. Jared moaned aswell in some sort of meditative trance, as his gut filled out over his knees. Porter tried jerking his hips and torso to pull Jared to his senses, but that only managed to pull him deeper into Jared’s body faster.
Jared finally opened his eyes and stared at Porter’s eyes, just inches away from his. They locked eyes for what seemed to be hours. Jared contemplated what to do next, whether to try and let Porter go, or swallow him down like the tasty food he could be. Porter felt mild relief at the pause, but also a bit of disappointment. Even though the prospect of digestion was scary… it was also kind of enticing. Jared still stayed frozen in though, so Porter wriggled a little more.
Jared’s eyes softened almost in a puppy dog fashion, begging for Porter to give in. Porter glared seriously for a moment, then almost smirked with his eyebrows. Why not keep going?
Porter relaxed his body again, allowing gravity to pull him down further. Jared took the opportunity and stood up, letting Porter’s body slump down into his gut with gravity taking over completely. Jared tilted his head back easily, just like he was throwing back a bowl of fried rice. The rest of Porter’s body slid easily down his gullet and filled out his belly. Jared fell back onto the couch with a heavy flop, letting out a roaring belch as he pat his stomach.
“Ooof man, you were delicious, thanks for filling this gut up,” Jared said after a well-deserved deep breath. Porter curled up into a ball, and smelled the mix of aromatic foods, mixed with stomach acid.
“Man this is hot - really hot - but does this mean I’m gonna get - you know - digested?” Porter asked?
Jared stretched out and replied with a yawn “Weeellll,” the word echoed all around Porter, “You are food now…” Jared felt the bumps around his belly where Porter’s body was distending it. Porter felt the stomach walls constrict and relax around him, kneading his body like all the food before him.
Tumblr media
“Wow… so you really did eat 150 plates at the buffet,” Porter began, “I thought that was just hyperbole.
“Don’t forget the waiter!” Jared replied.
“Wait, you’ve eaten guys before?”
“Only like two times,” Jared began, “That guy at the buffet caught me in a moment of pure carnal hunger,” Jared continued, reminicing thoughtfully on the most full belly he had ever had, “And well - you know that guy who introduced us? That man covered himself in bean dip and literally asked me to devour him.”
“Wow… that’s kinda hot,” Porter replied.
“I know right? And now you, so that makes three. Willing food is the best. Wish I could eat you over again.” Jared enjoyed the thought of eating Porter again, along with ice cream, a tray of more rice, and began to consider driving to a buffet again and going for round two.
“Well if you let me out… I think I could be persuaded to get back in another time…” Porter said.
“Really?” Jared said curiously.
“Maybe next time, you could just put me in a tub of fried rice instead of eating one after the other…”
“I’m liking your creativity… But for now let’s just enjoy this moment. Let me know when my stomach acid becomes too much for you.”
“Will do,” Porter replied… excited for the prospect of having time to process getting eaten, and make it an even better experience.

hi! when I get depressed it's really hard to make sure I'm eating as much as I should so here are some things I eat when I don't have the energy to do shit
these are depression meals so they are in no way balanced and an ideal diet, this is to get you through it. if you have depression, some of these on your shopping list are a good idea. I update this list whenever I remember something
I'm also assuming the only equipment you have is a bowl, spoon, sink, microwave and at most, a can opener. in no particular order:
granola bars and adjacent things like nuts, dried fruit, etc
frozen sausages: break them in half and microwave, if they're too cold to break you can run them under hot water or leave them out for a couple minutes, you need the break them or they might explode
canned corn: open and eat with a spoon, you can strain and microwave if you want it hot
cheese: put it in a bowl and microwave till it melts or till it's crispy, your choice but if you do just cheese don't use a porous bowl
instant noodles: don't use a pan, use a bowl, empty the contents in the bowl, add water till at least half of the noodle thing is submerged, microwave for 2-4 minutes, mix and eat
regular noodles: use a bigger bowl than you normally would, add some dry pasta to it and enough water to cover the pasta but not much more, it might overflow, and microwave for a few minutes more than the package says to boil, drain the water and put in whatever, condiment, sauce, cheese, sausages, frozen veggies, and microwave again, it's more time intensive but also more nutrients so
canned beans: you can eat as is if it comes in a sauce, but if you got the ones with the clear liquid you can strain and rinse and if you don't have a strainer, open the can just a little from the tab and open a faucet, let the water run into the can and adjust the position of the lid till the water can go in without any of the beans coming out, it'll dissolve the liquid and it'll flow out, leave it for a bit then shake it, turn it upside to drain, let it refill then leave it again, repeat till the water over flowing isn't that weird liquid
crackers/biscuits: keep a stash of biscuits that you can eat, bonus if you can eat them with milk or tea or coffee or juice
juice: buy your favorite and keep a bottle in the fridge or frozen if you suspect you're starting to spiral and might need it in a few hours
readymade meals: whenever you go to do your grocery shopping, buy just one premade meal
vegetables: keep a vegetable you like that you can eat raw like cucumbers or carrots
fruits: keep a fruit you know you can eat or you know you can drown in something else, for example I don't like apples but I can eat them if they're covered in peanut butter
sweets: you can keep a favorite hard candy to get yourself salivating idk for me if helps activate some hunger while getting rid of the painful part of being hungry
butters and spreads: you can find premade sandwich spread with chicken in them, or jams or spreads that are savory like peanut/almond/cashew butter or sweet like a chocolate/vanilla spread
rice: if you make rice and ever have some left over you can freeze it and eat it later, you can also do that with rice in a bag
tofu: you can eat it raw as long as you drain the liquid it comes with
condiments: almost all of these things can be improved or 'seasoned' with ketchup, mayo, mustard, ranch, tartar sauce, marinara, etc. it'll give some flavor and make it taste better but don't microwave sauces unless they're properly mixed with the food especially mayo based ones, they can get weird
frozen vegetables: any time you're using the microwave to make these things, throw in a handful of frozen vegetables and microwave for a little longer
cereal: pair cereal with foods like yogurt instead of milk, you can add chocolate drink powder to the yogurt before adding the cereal which is really nice, you can also make it directly in the yogurt container if it's small enough
electrolytes: you can make them a bottle using two dashes of salt (1/4 tsp), a 2second squeeze of a honey bottle (2 tsp) and some kind of juice for a better flavor
potatoes: stab them all around with a fork, microwave for about six minutes, turn it over then microwave again, keeping microwaving and turning till it's soft on the inside and you can eat it
order out: if you can afford to order food, order it, some tips to get the most out of what you order 1. order a family box of food to store in the fridge 2. when you microwave it, do it with some water in a glass with your bowl/food in the microwave
if opening the tab on a can is keeping you from eating, try this. it'll open the can, you can use a knife, the back of a spoon, etc.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
if it keeps you from spiraling, it's worth doing. and if it's worth doing, it's worth doing poorly. eating something is better than eating nothing.
hope this helps, if you can, please add more things!

Flatulence in Formal
written for the request in my previous post
content warning: food indulgence, descriptions of stomach noises and flatulence, humiliation
--------------------
A and B were invited to a formal dinner party with A's boss and coworkers, at their boss's house. They were quite excited, as A's boss had a wonderful property, the house with two stories and a basement, and a gorgeous botanical garden past the gazebo. Not to mention, it was her birthday, so she'd be going all out.
B pondered aloud as they finished preparing themselves for the evening,
"I wonder what's planned this time around. Last time she threw a dinner party like this we both came home stuffed to the brim."
"God, I don't know, but we won't need to eat much before we go, or after."
As the pair arrived mid afternoon, they were greeted by a few of A's friends and coworkers, and their boss, guiding them to the dining room.
A's boss bragged, "I do hope you all haven't eaten much yet today, I've quite a filling feast for us tonight."
"I'm sure, you always go all out and feed us well when celebrating like this."
They made their way to the dining room where there was a long table set to seat twenty. The display was gorgeous, bouquets of the flowers in their boss's garden, candle light, and a great spread of vegetables, pita bread, and chips with blue cheese, creamy garlic hummus, and salsa for dipping.
A and B took their seats next to each other and near their dearest friends, and began chatting, digging into the hummus, and wrapping up veggies in their pita for a delicious bite. They wondered if their boss had grown the broccoli, carrots, cucumbers, and other vegetables in her garden, as they were fresh and flavorful, picked at just the right time.
As they talked, one of A's friends complimented their slim midi dress, adorned with gorgeous patterns and lace along the slit.
"I love the way the silk makes it shine in the sunlight. It hugs your figure splendidly."
They smiled, "Why, thank you. Perhaps we should go out and have you fitted for one in your favorite color, I think you would look just lovely."
After a short while of snacking and beginning to drink, the main course would be served. The meal was blackened salmon with a side of toasted brown rice with mushrooms and thyme, and a hearty three bean salad. It smelled amazing, and they couldn't wait to try a bite of salmon with the salad. As the boss's house staff set the plates in front of each guest, A inhaled deeply, mouth watering at the scent of the mushrooms and different seasonings.
They were quick to bite into the salmon, scooping some of the rice with it. It was perfect, tender and falling apart in their mouth. It had a slight kick, but wasn't too spicy. And the mushrooms with the rice… it was a buttery and earthy heaven on their tongue. They swallowed it down with a bit of their wine, going in to try the salad. It was savory and zesty, and somewhat crunchy, with red onions, celery, and a wonderful vinegar dressing.
As they got near the halfway point of their meal, they felt their stomach rumble a bit. Thankfully, it wasn't audible, but they began to feel some discomfort. They applied a bit of pressure to their tummy, noticing a slight tightness around their belly button. For a while, their discomfort was eased as the bubbles moved along their digestive tract. Caring not, they ate more, relishing in the flavor of the salmon and salad.
As they got closer to clearing their plate, their tummy bubbled more, and pressure was building. They were feeling even more uncomfortable around their middle, and their digestion refused to be quiet any longer. A long, bubbly gurgle sounded out from A's tummy. Their coworker next to them, who happened to be a bit tipsy, heard, and decided to tease, "Somebody's got the bubble guts. Eat too many beans?"
A's face flushed, and they put their hand to their tummy, feeling how it had rounded out. It continued bubbling and building up more pressure, stretching the fabric of their dress… Their friend was quite right about the state of their tummy, and they were humiliated to have it pointed out.
"Please excuse me for those noises. I m-must've swallowed quite a bit of air.."
"Sure, that's why it's rumbling. You better be careful, I heard the boss is serving blueberry cheesecake for dessert."
A pushed away their plate, and rubbed their tummy as inconspicuously as they could, making sure to clench their bum to avoid letting anything out. They dreaded the next course and the havoc it would wreak in their gut. They looked toward their partner for comfort, not sure if they should try to stand to go relieve some pressure.
B had overheard, realizing A's situation quickly, and gave them a look of concern. They reached over to A, rubbing their side, and feeling their bloat. They felt sympathy for them, knowing they weren't only uncomfortable, but surely embarrassed from their coworker's teasing. Between the broccoli, garlic hummus, beans, and onions, they were already guaranteed a wicked bellyache, but with dairy added? Even B's gut was a bit rumbly. It was a recipe for some very potent gas, at the least.
A's belly rumbled again, and they winced, the pressure now causing cramps. They clenched tight, and waited for the discomfort to subside before standing. If they didn't go somewhere private soon, they'd be letting loose in front of everyone.
"Excuse me love, I'm going to go.. uhm..freshen up a bit before we have dessert."
"Alright my dear, are you feeling okay?"
Their tummy growled again as they spoke, "Y-yes, I just need some fresh air and a minute of privacy. I'll be back shortly."
B frowned, worried for their partner. They watched as A headed off, a hand low on their gut that now was as round as it could manage. Their dress was most certainly hugging their figure now.
Once A knew they were somewhere they wouldn't be heard, they found a seat, and relaxed their tightened muscles, unclenching their bum. A long string of loud farts rumbled out of them. The gas felt hot on its way out, reeking of all the veggies and beans they'd eaten earlier. They blushed even though they were alone, ashamed of how unruly their gut was… It was their own fault for having so much of the things they knew made them gassy. A groaned, their tummy still bubbling and cramping. They pushed, but couldn't get any more of their gas out.
Worrying about A, B decided to leave the table as well to find them. It didn't take long, as when they turned a corner in the hall, they heard A's groans of discomfort. As they walked further, a faint smell of rotten vegetables and sulfur hit B, and they found A. They looked up at B as they walked in, confused, "What are you doing here, love?"
"I was worried about you.. I know your tummy has been giving you quite a bit of trouble, and I wanted to help."
A blushed, looking to the floor, "You aren't wrong about that… but I'm alright, you don't need to do anything."
B sat with A, putting their hand on B's tummy, feeling all the bubbles rolling through them,
"I know. I want you to feel better, though. May I?"
A sighed, knowing they did need help, and relief. They nodded, "Please…"
Having A's permission, B began to massage their abdomen slowly and gently with pressure. They began at the lower right of their tummy, working their way up their right side, across, and down their left side, several times. A particularly bassy rumble began, ending in the lower left side of A's tummy.
"Oh lord.. I'm so sorry for my tummy's noises, B… I know it's unpleasant."
"You're alright, love. Your tummy is just bubbly, it happens to everyone. Here, feel mine."
A reached out curiously, pressing their fingertips to B's lower belly. Sure enough, they felt the bubbles, and realized B would be gassy as well.
B applied more pressure, working A's trapped gas, and the deep bubbles had let them know it was almost out. Their fingers reached a hard spot, and they pressed just slightly harder, causing a series of growls, and an airy, rumbling fart to erupt from A's rump. They felt some physical relief, but they were a blushing mess. They felt repulsed by their bodily functions.
"Please excuse me again…"
"Of course, love. Does your tummy feel any better?"
"Yes, only a little bit, though."
"I'll keep rubbing your tummy until you feel relieved enough to return to the table, alright?"
"Alright. I can't thank you enough, love…"
They tooted again, flooding rank air out of their irritated bowels.
"Oh goodness, the smell. I'm so sorry my tummy is like this right now. I feel terrible…"
B pressed on their tummy again, forcing more gas out their bum.
"Ex-excuse me."
"I promise you're alright. I don't mind the noises, or even the smell. I want your tummy to feel better, especially before dessert."
A groaned, being reminded of the cheesecake they'd soon be eating, even though they most definitely shouldn't.
"Thank you for helping me… relieve myself. I'm worried though, I know the cheesecake is going to make my tummy even more bubbly than it was."
"Well… do you feel less bloated?"
"I suppose. It's not gurgling much anymore, and it isn't hard to the touch."
"I think it'll be alright, then."
"If you're sure. I think I'm ready to go back."
With that, A and B returned to the table holding hands, A's tummy slightly less distended. They both sat down again, their friends and coworkers on either side greeting them.
Just as before, A's coworker was teasing, inquiring about their tummy,
"How's the bubble guts? You still feeling rumbly in your tummy?"
A couldn't help the blush that showed on their cheeks, but they brushed it off,
"I'm feeling quite alright, but thank you for asking."
A few moments after they took their seats again, the cheesecake was served. It looked amazing with the blueberries and glaze drizzled all over each slice individually. The slices were generous in portion, same as the previous course. Though they knew it would cause them more intestinal distress, their mouth watered at the thought of the taste. They dug in with their fork, making sure to get a blueberry.
The cheesecake was decadent and creamy, the blueberry glaze having the perfect balance of tartness and sweetness, and the crust with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg. It was amazing, and though they'd soon regret it, they felt it was worth the consequences, at least at that moment. As A got full after half their cheesecake, their tummy returned to a bubbling, gurgling mess. They passively rubbed their gut, knowing they'd need privacy again soon. Their belly was so full and gassy that it hurt.
A waited for the right time to excuse themselves again, not wanting much attention, especially from the likes of those next to them. To their utter dismay, as they shifted to stand, their tummy rumbled, and a loud fart bubbled out of them. It lasted long enough to break the tables' conversation and draw all attention to A. Their coworker who'd previously teased them for their bubbly tummy spat out their drink, unable to stifle their laughter.
They flushed red immediately, humiliation washing over them, tummy still bubbling loudly.
They stammered out their words, "P-pardon me, something is-" they farted again, this time punctuated by a wet sputter, "S-something is really disagreeing with me. I'm terribly sorry for my stomach's noises and my.. my, uhm, wind."
Their boss chuckled, along with a few giggling coworkers, some of which accidentally farted as well, causing another burst of laughter at the table.
"Don't worry about it, after all, we've all had a plate of beans and a cheesecake. If you need it though, or anyone else, the bathroom is down the left hall, or up the stairs."
They nodded, and excused themselves quickly, tooting on their way to the bathroom. They spent a while in there, waiting out their gas and their shame, hoping that by the time they left the restroom, it would be time to go home. They decided to sit on the toilet, just in case anything other than gas was brewing. This time, thankfully, their timing was good, and once they returned to the dining room, everyone was standing around chatting, while the staff cleared the table.
A beelined their way through goodbyes and friends joking about their eruption at the table, and they got a couple compliments for their gas. A couple coworkers said it was "impressive." This made them feel odd… but not in a bad way, strangely. Once they found B waiting, they squeezed their hand, ready to rush out to their car.
"Are you ready to head home, love?"
"Of course, dear. Is your stomach feeling alright?"
A shook their head. Their belly was still bubbling under their skin, still bloated and stretching their dress. B frowned, and rubbed their side gently.
"Let's head out and get home."
They both said their final goodbyes, and walked out to their car. B made sure to take extra care, and helped A into the passenger's side, gently pulling their seat belt over their lap. Lucky for A, and for B's nose, their house wasn't too far, just over a five minute drive.
Once they got home, A was holding their belly, trying their best not to let anything loose in their car. B saw that they were in pain, and carried them inside, taking them to their bedroom. After undressing themself, changing into light and comfortable silk pajamas, B helped A change as well. They slid the dress over A's head, and slid on a loose nightgown that matched B. Before getting into bed, they pulled a heating pad out of the night stand drawer and gave it to A, slipping into bed behind them.
"I love you, my dear. I'm so sorry about the interruptions my tummy caused tonight…"
"I love you, too, darling. I promise, it's nothing to dwell on. Even my belly is getting rumbly. Just relax and I'll rub your tummy until we fall asleep."
A squeezed B's hand gently, letting them rub their unhappy gut, and sighed. They relaxed under the combination of the heating pad's warmth and B's soothing touch, releasing a cacophony of bubbly farts, muffled by the blankets.
B patted their belly, and kissed the back of their head.
"I hope you have sweet dreams, love."
"I hope you do, too. You're my world."
As they relaxed more into B, they kept letting out long, wet farts. The disagreeable food they'd filled up on earlier was making their gut angrier still as it all moved through them. Another wet toot rumbled out into the room, but it hadn't been A this time. B grunted, putting a hand to their gut as they pushed out a rather gurgly fart.
"Ugh, excuse me. The beans are doing a number on me, too."
Hearing B like this, the same way they were vulnerable earlier… A turned over to face B, and kissed their cheek.
"You're quite alright, darling. How about I rub your belly?"
B smiled, kissing A sweetly.
"I would like that very much."

Tumblr media
Never-Give-Up Beam (¥630)
An orange-flavored cocktail, inspired by Isabeau’s strong will to never give up. This can also be made non-alcoholic.
TWT: Never-Give-Up Beam. A cocktail inspired Isabeau’s strong will to never give up. Delicious with or without alcohol!
TL Notes:
The pun involves Flynn's Japanese name. Furin sounds like purin. Hence furin a la mode.
Mika (translator) and I debated what the pun in Jonathan's meal was. We deduced that it likely was Yonatan and Gyu tan-yaki.

Sweet Dreams
Pairing: Manjiro “Mikey” Sano x Fem Reader
Summary: After the big fight between Toman and Valhalla, the reader knows her close friend Mikey is dealing with certain emotions, trying to take his mind off of things with friendly lunch, and the nap that always comes right after…
Warnings: N/A
Word Count: 1.3k
I DO NOT OWN THIS GIF:
Tumblr media
Toman facing Valhalla was our toughest fight yet. We lost Baji, Mikey almost lost it, and I felt so useless!
They guys refused to let me fight, they didn’t even want me there, but I still came to see and thinking about it, I sometimes wished that I didn’t see any of it.
Mikey was who I was worried about most. Facing Kazutora and reliving the pain of losing his elder brother, losing one of his friend who was like a brother. He was the silent type when it came to deep emotion.
I knew he was hurting inside and I wanted to take some of that pain away.
Just as I thought, I found Mikey at Baji’s grave, kneeled in front of the tombstone, fresh flowers in front of him.
Quietly, I kneeled down next to him, earning his attention:
“Oh, hi Y/N.”
“Hey, Mikey,” it was hard to smile during these times, but I put one on for him, looking up to the tombstone and feeling a deep sadness myself, but trying to keep things positive, “We’ll get to see him again one day, and I’m sure we’ll have a blast together.”
“I’m looking forward to that day,” He murmured, staring down at the ground, his hands on his knees, clearly getting a bit lost in his emotions.
Carefully, I placed my hand on top of his, his eyes peeking through the strands of his hair to meet mine, cooing to him:
“It’s all gonna be alright, and let’s live our best lives so we can make him proud, hm? I know he’d want that.”
“I think so too,” Squeezing my hand, I noticed that he’d been thinking about everything before I came, accepting this and letting it go.
That was a good thing and I hoped that I helped with that in some kind of way, a small smile on my face as he rubbed my hand before standing up, stretching as he thought aloud:
“My tummy’s grumbling. I could use some good food right about now.”
“Want to come to my place and I can make us lunch?” I offered, rising to my feet.
Curiosity flashed on his face, gasping slightly, “You cook?”
“Mhm!” I nodded, convincing him more, “Whatever you want to eat, I’m positive that I can make it. Made with tender love and care too.”
“Well, what are we waiting for then?”
Giggles flew with me as he took my hand, having to run to catch up with him. He sure must’ve been hungry, holding my hand and taking me right home.
“You craving anything in particular?” I went right into the kitchen the second I stepped in the door, grabbing my apron and heading to the fridge as Mikey sat at the table, hand on his chin as he debated:
“Hmm, let me think.”
Opening the fridge, I looked to see what I had at home that I could make easy and quick, seeing some salmon that was left and recommending:
“How does some miso-glazed salmon bento sound?”
“I like the sound of that!” Mikey was so adorable, rocking back in the chair and kicking his feet.
Grabbing all the veggies, rice, and salmon. I washed my hands, fired up the stove and got right to work.
Cooking was a great pass time and hobby that I picked up, already earning Mikey’s praise as I was finishing up and plating our food.
“Man, my stomach growls more and more as I smell it!”
“Just one more second, Mikey!”
Bringing over the food, I also grabbed us some drinks, presenting his food along with chopsticks:
“Oh yeah, one more thing.”
Tilting his head, his curious face turned into a happy, smiling one when he saw that I had a little flag like they put on his favorite kids meal, smiling to him as I acknowledged:
“I know you don’t like your meal without the flag.”
“Aren’t you just a sweetie pie, today?” He smirked, taking his chopstixks, making me flustered and look away laughing:
“Aww, just trying to be a good friend is all! Tell me how you like it!”
Getting my chopsticks and sitting to eat mine, I watched as he took the first bite, taking in every detail and swallowing it down, a smile on his face and his eyes lighting up at me:
“It’s delicious, Y/N! Why didn’t you tell me that you cooked any sooner?!”
“Sorry,” I laughed, taking a bite of mine and I have to say, it was pretty good! “But just think! From now on, if you want a good, home cooked meal? I’ll be your personal chef!”
“I’ll gladly take that offer,” Food always made him happy and this was so adorable to see.
He was really chowing down and it was so nice to see him in a better head space, not missing even a grain of rice and clearing his plate.
After we were done, I gathered the dishes and placed them in the dish washer, noticing how Mikey was yawning and stretching in his chair.
“If you’re sleepy, the couch is open,” Starting the dishes cycle, I went over to the couch and fluffed the pillows, grabbing a throw blanket and before I could even finish that up, he was snoring, didn’t even make it away from the table!
“Oh, Mikey,” My head shook playfully, going over and picking him up as best I could:
“Oh,” He yawned, stepping down and swaying, “I always fall asleep after a good meal.”
“I know Mikey, trust me, I know,” I chuckled, guiding him to the couch, sitting him and grabbing the blanket, “But you could use a good nap.”
“Mhm,” He already had his eyes closed, humming softly and taking me by surprise when he pulled me along with him, guiding me to lay on the couch first.
“Mikey?” I felt as hot as the sun from being so nervous and flustered. Did Draken cuddle him or something when he took naps and he needed a replacement?!
“Take a nap with me. I’m sure your tummy’s full too,” Fixing the blanket over us, he did make a point, lunch was filling, I was just so nervous!
I never cuddled with a guy before and it being Mikey?!
It was a lot to process, but as his head rested on my stomach, arms hugging me softly, he was cozy and warm, and everything about it felt so right.
“Yeah, I’m full too,” I told myself to relax, what would a little cuddle hurt? This was a new kind of comfort and a place in my heart wanted it.
He was already falling asleep again and to help, I massaged his scalp, running my hand through his blonde locks.
With a sleepy smile, he adjusted himself, nudging his head up higher towards me and I thought that I was literally going to melt into a puddle as he nuzzled his head against my breasts, humming:
“Ah, so soft.”
Thank goodness his eyes were closed because I knew probably looked crazy from the shock, sweating even! Especially when he giggled, nudging his head into them more.
“Sweet dreams-“ His voice drifted off and this time, he was dead asleep.
There was no dodging the nervousness and the wild feeling I just went through, but I knew everything that Mikey was going through.
Mikey needed this and he always had a special place in my heart, something very special that I just haven’t admitted to yet.
Seeing him so comfortable, sound asleep and so peaceful, it gave me pure happiness.
Brushing some hair away from his face, I picked my head up, loving the fuzzy feeling I got inside when his head nuzzled back naturally, kissing his temple softly:
“Sweet dreams, Mikey.”

Hii
I want to try meals prepping, but I have no idea where to start. Do you have some advice?
By "meal prepping" do you mean like, putting food in boxes, or like cooking lots of food for a whole week? Cause I do the latter, not the former. I usually choose a carb and protein I like and make a fuckton of it, keep them in pots/glass containers both in the fridge and freezer (enough for 3 days in fridge, rest in freezer). For me it's either pork belly bits or pork steak paired with rice, or chikin breast paired with potaters. I make 1kg of meat for 5 days of food, so approx. 200gr of meat a day. I eat meat only 1 week every month so that's the plan for that week, the rest of the month I enjoy tofu and yuba based stuff (150-200gr per day). This is for lunch, I don't make breakfast or dinner in bulk, I like those fresh and they're fairly quick to make.
Apart from meat and tofu/yuba, I get extra protein in from tuna (1 can per day), dairy products and yummy lentils and legumes.
I think a good place to start is to figure out what foods you like and practicing cooking them in bulk.
Don't forget to snacc on fruits n veggies!

大家好! My third attempt at plant-based protein was better - breakfast was yong tau foo and boy was there a wider variety of options. Goodness in this bowl: tofu, fu pi (tofu skin), carrot, brinjal, broccoli and tomato along with thick bee hoon (rice vermicelli). To complete the meal: freshly squeezed unsweetened green apple juice. Full disclosure: the tofu and fu pi had a thin layer of fish paste as a filling; apart from that, this meal comprised of mainly plants - also, why do I feel as though I'm eating like a giraffe when the food tastes so delicious?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I took Pa to a popular vegetarian restaurant when he joined me for a plant-based meal. He chose crispy beancurd skin with sesame rice bento, which came with braised mushrooms and firm tofu and achar (pickled veggies); I had noodles topped with carrot and lettuce and soup which came with tomato, fu pi, konnyaku 'prawns', baby nai bai (similar to baby bak choy), shiitake, enoki and shimeji mushrooms, as well as Napa cabbage. We shared a trio of shiitake, enoki and shimeji mushrooms as well as carrot braised with Angelica herb. Everything was so darned delicious, we agreed to return! Finally, to wash it all down, unsweetened freshly squeezed orange juice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back to mammal protein, it's been ages since I had fen si (glass vermicelli), so I ordered some and the stall helper piled a heaping portion onto my plate. Along with my carbohydrates, I had steamed fish, stirfried beansprouts with carrot and stirfried okra. The fen si was so tasty, I finished everything! Washing everything down with refreshing freshly squeezed unsweetened guava juice, I reflected on the recent addition of plant-based protein to my meals. To be frank, I enjoyed the experience and don't mind eating more of it.

I had a unique pork ball along with my stirfried bee hoon (rice vermicelli), bitter gourd and hairy gourd (meals just look more appetising when there's colour). It was handmade with minced pork, but there was also minced onion, carrot and even red chilli in it. I wished I'd ordered 2 instead of 1 because it was so yummy! The stall was generous with veggie portions, so the meal was very filling. To end the meal: hot tea.

Encouraged by the better plant-based protein results this time around, I'll continue searching for dining out options before moving onto how to include more plant-based protein for meals at home. Not only do tofu and tofu products taste good, I felt physically better and had more energy after eating them. They pair amazingly well with soup noodles and a ton of veggies too! I just wish there're better vegetarian options; it's hard to find tofu soup noodles unless I go to a vegan/vegetarian cafe/restaurant or have yong tau foo, OR, I may just need to look harder. 下次见!

the group was asked to consider two questions for our OCs and i panicked in the moment because i need to think about these things, but i have now thought about these things. the implication was that this is for rescued OCs so that's all i'm touching on here.
What does your OC regularly eat for lunch?
(picture me googling ‘what do people eat for lunch’ because i have no fucking clue. i usually don’t eat lunch and that was part of my problem coming up with ideas on the spot lmao)
1) ivan likes soups! mostly hot soups but cold soups are also good in the summer. he'll usually pair them with sandwiches or some kind of bread. also a fruit tea if possible, water or soda otherwise. he typically only strays from this if he's getting lunch out with someone (he will order soup and/or a sandwich if that's an option, but other stuff is fine). he's big on eating three meals a day so if something happens and he skips lunch he will be upset about it.
2) asya eats a lot of peanut butter sandwiches, sometimes with honey or bananas or other add-ons. with chips and either juice, water, or soda. she had to fend for herself a lot growing up and sandwiches were easy for her to make, so it became part of her routine. she's fine straying and can eat any other safe food for lunch, she will just always default to pb sandwiches. she's pretty consistent but is more likely to skip meals during the worse parts of mood episodes.
3) sergey will often snack instead of eating a proper lunch. chips with or without dip, crackers with or without cheese, jerky, any snack food lying around. usually soda. he'll either grab a frozen lunch or instant lunch or order out if he's feeling hungrier. he tends to order delivery a lot. it's also not uncommon for him to skip lunch entirely and just eat an early dinner.
4) anya does food prep and mixes up what kinds of food she makes every week. the most common combo is rice plus some kind(s) of veggie plus some kind of meat. sometimes she’ll do wraps, sometimes soups, sometimes salads, etc. it varies! she likes sparkling water though and that’s always a feature.
5) including cian for the cianlovers here. time to project and say that cian doesn’t usually eat lunch. at most he’ll snack a bit throughout the day and just have dinner. if he’s really hungry he’ll get something delivered if he’s at work, or scrounge up whatever’s available at home. sandwiches, frozen meals, pasta, whatever’s around. cian’s thing is more a lack of hunger compared to sergey’s thing being a combo of that and being lazy. cian does have one of those giant water bottles that’s supposed to carry your daily intake of water and he downs a full one of those every day, so, y’know. balance.
What would your OC bring to a potluck?
(picture me googling ‘what to bring to a potluck’ because i also have no idea. apparently in a potluck the host is supposed to tell people what to bring but the phrasing of the question makes me think that’s not the case in this scenario? like it’s up to the guest for this question? that’s what i’m going with)
1) ivan would ask first if there’s a need for anything specific (to try to be helpful), and make/bring that. if there’s nothing, he’ll default to making potato and cheese pierogies. he likes making them, he can make a bunch of them, they’re vegetarian-safe (sorry vegans), and they’re good to snack on! it’s also something that other people aren’t TOO likely to bring, so there will be variety in the foods available.
2) asya would ask first if there’s a need for anything specific (out of anxiety) and make/bring that. if there’s nothing, she’ll have massive anxiety over it and then probably make some kind of dessert dish. brownies, bars of things, all sorts of treats. this is what i have in mind, just anything you can make in a pan. she doesn’t have one go-to recipe, she likes to try out different things. asya really enjoys cooking, especially for others, so even if not knowing if she’s bringing the Correct thing stresses her out she likes making stuff for people.
3) making food is a love language for sergey that he reserves for the people he’s closest to, so he’s not likely to make something himself for any rando’s potluck. the most he’ll do is grab something from the frozen appetizers section and heat that up if it’s someone who’ll get genuinely annoyed if he brings chips and soda. otherwise you get chips and soda. if it’s a thing his family is hosting, though, or if it’s otherwise just for his loved ones (like say a party just for him and diego and will and marion), yeah he’ll cook, and since he really knows the people he’s cooking for he’ll tailor whatever he’s making for them. sergey doesn’t have a LOT of patience for cooking so it’s not likely going to be something SUPER involved or anything super delicate/pretty looking, but he’ll put more effort into it than he does when making food for himself so there’s that.
4) anya brings some kind of pasta salad. i don’t have much to elaborate on here, anya just brings some kind of pasta salad. that feels correct.
5) for cian, my heart says... casserole... something hearty and good. my heart also says it’s something that’s probably terrible for you in large quantities but is absolutely delicious, like it’s swimming in cheese or takes two full sticks of butter to make or whatever. you know that some part of your body is going to protest this later but your body can shut up

Hello, a soon-to-be veganuary participant here! Do you have any tips on how to communicate your veganism when you have e.g. family gatherings, sometimes with… a bit more conservative members, where there is a meal offered? I don’t want to seem too difficult😬 Also Food and easy everyday vegan food ideas would be appreciated!
Absolutely, it’ll be my pleasure! And Thank You!!!<3
So, I'll start with the last part of this ask. I think it's easier not to think of it as "vegan meals", and instead veganize whatever one usually eats. For me, I loved to have scrambled eggs in the mornings, now I have scrambled tofu (extra firm, not silken), that way I can still enjoy my comfort food but have it be animal-free.
meal suggestions:
Breakfast foods are perhaps the simplest to turn plant-based, takes mostly switching a few ingredients. Other meals are not difficult, but traditionally they might rely more on animal products, so you might have to tweak them more. These two (lunch and dinner) I'll be pairing because I eat them interchangeably at either noon or evening. If you want specific recipes, Pinterest is your best friend (my ask box will still be open though).
-Breakfast: oatmeal, toasts/bagels with either sweet or salty toppings, cereals, smoothie bowls, PB&J like Cas (still an SPN blog, sorry), hashed browns or smoothies, if you're like me and have no time in the mornings.
-Lunch/Dinner: rice&beans with a little extra something of your choosing (I like avocado or a simple green salad on the side), wraps/burritos (throw anything veggie in there, really), pasta (just had it with sautéed green beans and cashews), hearty salads (bulk up with, yes, beans - garbanzo/chickpeas are great for this!), thick soups (roast some veggies, then put in a blender and voilà. Great for low energy days and easier digestion), chili sin carne and curries.
-Snacks: i'm partial to nuts and seeds, but fruits are great too, as well as veggies/whatever with hummus, chips and the like (original Pringles, Lay's and Fritos, some pretzels and Takis too!), cookies (many options, original Oreos reign supreme), chocolate (most dark choc is vegan, sweeter options made with plant milks are also available), most popcorn, vegan ice cream (if you have access to Oatly and like chocolate, try the Fudge Brownie, so good) or vegan protein bars if you're in need of a protein-dense pick-me up (protein bars across the board aren’t the best in taste though, so, yeah).
general tips:
start increasing your fiber intake gradually, Now - this is because plant-based diets tend to be higher in fiber, and a sudden boost in it when you're not used to might lead to temporary bloating/discomfort because your digestive system is going to be doing some adjustments.
keep protein and fats in mind - DO EAT THEM! if you're filling unfulfilled after a meal, it might be because it was lacking in those. a lettuce, cucumber and tomato salad is not high in calories or satisfactory in general, it'll be disheartening and it may have you quitting or cursing vegans. if consuming salads make them hearty!
on the same line of protein - as a whole and from what i see in my own country, these days we're a bit obsessed with protein. and even if it's necessary we tend to overestimate our needs and underestimate our intake. if it's more convenient for you, there are many mock meats (depending on where you live, of course) that offer chicken/beef/fish-like products with high protein, but they can be pricier, aren't a necessity and are not really reflective of what most vegans eat for every meal every day. tofu, tempeh, beans and tvp (textured vegetable protein. super cheap and versatile) are my go-to.
tofu - holy grail, unless you're allergic to soy. if not, it's a great base for literally anything. they key is squeezing out the water and seasoning well.
b12 supplementation/fortified foods
condiments are your best friend - this goes for any and all sorts of cooking, it's amazing what spices can do to enhance flavors.
most ingredients list on food labels will list allergens at the very end or have it in bold letters. here you'll see things that you wish to avoid, like eggs and milk, if the product contains any.
same if you have any safe foods for whatever reason, don't remove it from your diet, simply try to find a vegan alternative or tweak it a bit.
if for some reason you eat something non plant-based, don't make a big deal out of it or quit veganuary. just choose a vegan option the next time.
consider other aspects in your life that rely on animal products and, if safely possible, evaluate alternatives
it's not an all or nothing mentality, remember it's as far as is possible and practicable
As for your first question and based on my personal experience, people who judge or mock others' dietary choices mostly to do so with vegans and vegetarians only, so that's something to unpack there. In your case since it's specifically Veganuary, I'd simply say it's a challenge/activity you want to participate in to help with the environment and animals. Don't knock it til you try it sorta thing.
There are going to be questions and comments, there always are. If very conservative food-wise, relatives or friends may throw negative comments your way, but know those are a reflection of them and whatever they're dealing with rather than what you're doing or with you as an individual. It's literally their problem, not yours, cliché but true. Don't take as personal what other people might say about it because many do get defensive and touchy, even if you aren't out to "get them." In gatherings, if they offer you food, try to veganize the meal, if possible. If meat is optional, just substract it. It might not be the best or most balanced of meals, but you can make up for it later and it shows you've got nothing against their cooking because I bet you don’t. Also, if you know there won't be anything vegan, try bringing in a plate/side dish yourself to share with others, that way you won't arrive empty-handed and you'll make sure to stick to your goal.
// We are latine and my family goes heavy on the animal products consumption, there's not a single meal without them, not one. At the start you yourself might believe your eating is “difficult” but trust me, it isn’t. Past that initial hurdle, people tend to go ‘oh, this is vegan too!!’ (excitedly. very cute!, especially when they wanna share it with you. i just love it). They're used to me being vegan now though, even my grandmas and aunts are now way more receptive of alternative eating styles other than those they raised us in and are mindful of having something for me available (which is usually eaten by everybody else, anyway). The whole thing is gradual and slow, but being vegan is the best decision I've made for many reasons besides the dietary aspect of it, plus it cranked up my creativity in the kitchen, oof!

Goro Goro…
“Sounds like Yuyu is hungry.” Ai commented, reaching over the pause the anime the group was watching.
“Eh heh…” Yuu put a hand on the back of her head in embarrassment. “Yeah, I was so caught up writing the club’s new song that I kinda forgot to eat lunch.”
“Yuu-chan!” Ayumu scolded. “You should have said something earlier.”
“Sorry, but like I said, I forgot.”
“I knew I should have brought over the leftovers from our lunch…” The redhead lamented.
“No worries!” Ai bounced up to her feet. “Ai’ll have something whipped up in no time.” She paused for half a second. “Or rather, lots of thyme. Rinari’s family has plenty of thyme on their hands.”
Yuu started to giggle.
“I’ll help.” Ayumu and Setsuna offered, almost at the same time.
“Setsu, Ayupyon and Ai-san, the perfect dream steam.” Ai said, leading them into the kitchen. “Rinari, Yuyu, kick bake and relax.”
Yuu guffawed.
“Mom bought a lot of eggs yesterday, since they were on sale.” Rina said as she and Yuu found seats at the table with a view of the kitchen. “And there is plenty of leftover rice.”
“Eggcellent! Omurice it is!”
“A… Ai-chan…” Yuu giggled. “Give me a bake… I can’t…” She continued laughing.
“Good one, Yuyu! You go grill!”
Yuu almost fell out of her chair. “Are you sure there aren’t too many cooks in the kitchen?”
“It’s oil good!” Ai assured. “It will all pan out. Setsu! Veggies. Chop chop!” She set a cutting board on counter.
“Yes, Chef!” Setsuna looked like she might salute before grabbing a knife.
“Ayupyon! Omlets. Get crackin’!” Ai plugged in an induction hotplate.
”Y-Yes, Chef…?” Ayumu fumbled through mimicking Setsuna’s response.
“And now for Ai-san to rice to the challenge of the main ovent!” Ai pushed up her sleeves before igniting the stove. “Good thing omurice is as easy as a wok in the park.” She poured oil into the deep pan. “Especially when Ai’ve got such skillet friends like Setsu and Ayupyon to wok with.”
“Ai-san,” Rina spoke up, “I think you may be poaching your luck with all these puns.”
“Ah ha! Even Rinari’s getting her pizza the pie!”
“I think Rina-chan wants to avoid all Hell to baking loose,” Yuu pointed out, should Ayumu or Setsuna-chan boil over if Gordon RamsAi treats them too much like Red team and Blue team.”
“I’m good.” Setsuna said before turning to Ai. “Vegetables have been chopped, Chef. What’s next?”
“Chicken.” Ai responded.
“Ai, Chef!”
“I’m good too.” Ayumu added. “Although I'm already on my second one, will you be done in time, Ai-chan?”
“Ai’ve got plenty of thyme.” Ai held up the jar for effect.
The puns did eventually subside as the meal preparation neared completion. And conversation turned to the anime series they had been watching as the five girls began eating.

Chapter 7
Soup
Charlie
I felt so refreshed after the shower, but my body still hummed with pain. Those guys really did a number on me. I also got to brush my teeth, Artemis gave me a toothbrush and toothpaste. It was good to finally get rid of the metallic taste in my mouth. The clothes that Gage had gave me were loose fitting but did the job. He gave me a thin stretchy turtleneck sweater, a loose knit jumper for extra warmth over the top, and a pair of pants that fit surprisingly well. The pants looked too big when folded but stayed up without a belt. I gathered my stuff and made my way back to the living room foyer. Gage said that’s where he would wait for me.
“Hey! Feeling any better?” Gage turned around when he saw me walking down the stairs. I made my way over to the couch he was sitting on.
“A little bit. I feel much better now that I’m clean” I let out sheepishly. It felt strange being here. I’m really glad that I found someone around here that would be so kind to me even if they don’t know me. I felt uneasy, but maybe it would be okay if I let my guard down.
“Hey, I made some soup. Are you hungry?” Gage offered with a smile. I was so distracted by the thoughts racing through my head, I didn’t notice my hunger pangs.
“You’re not trying to poison me, are you?” I ask. I still don’t know if I can trust him.
“No, I’m going to have some soup too. You can come with me to the kitchen and help yourself if it makes you feel better” he mentioned.
“Lead the way” I mumble. It was probably a good idea to keep this guy at an arm’s length. He got up off the couch and made his way into the room behind us. Like he said, it was a kitchen. It was pretty big, way bigger than the one in my apartment. There was a fireplace in the kitchen, which was strange to me. Why would they want a space heater in the kitchen? It must be their stove, as a boiler pot was sitting on top of it. The smell of wood burning was comforting. The counters were made of concrete and metal, and the floor tiles were terracotta. The vintage feel of this place is endlessly charming. Gage collected some bowls from an overhead cabinet and handed one to me before hopping over to a counter and grabbing a ladle. He made himself a bowl before offering the ladle to me. I inspected the boiler pot, looking inside of it. The steam from the bubbling liquid hit my face and I pulled back out of habit. I forgot that the punks stole my smart glasses, so I don’t have to worry about them getting fogged up anymore. The soup looked great, a clear red broth chock full of vegetables. I served myself a bowl and sat next to Gage at the wrap around counter.
“I hope you like the soup. My friend Percy made it” Gage mentioned.
“I thought you said you made it! How do you know what’s in it?” I panic. What if his “friend” is trying to poison both of us?
“Well, I helped. I cut the veggies. Let me know what you think of them, Percy would love to hear about another person enjoying her organic produce” he smiled between mouthfuls of soup.
“She grew the vegetables?” I replied.
“Yeah! We have a roof top garden. I’ll show you later if you want” he offered. Seeing Gage eat the soup gave me some security to trust him. I was hungry, who knows when I could get a nice meal like this again? I take my spoon and scoop up some of the soup before putting it in my mouth. This soup was delicious. It had multiple facets, with rich tomato flavour, herbaceous notes, and gentle spice from garlic and ginger. Carrots added sweetness, and celery added a savoury taste. There was even little pasta at the bottom, shaped like rice, that provided great chew.
“This soup is delicious” I beam. Gage chuckled shortly.
“I’ll send your compliments to the chef” Gage’s eyes crinkled from a wide smile.
“Minestrone, right? I’ve never had minestrone with this much depth” I exclaim.
“Is that the name? I’m not much of a cook myself, I wouldn’t know. Speaking of names, I totally forgot to ask for yours. I’m Gage” he introduced.
“I know. I heard Artemis say your name before. I’m Charlie” I let out.
“So, Charlie. Do you want to call your wife and tell her that you’re okay? You can use my phone if you want” he offered.
“Oh. I, um… I don’t know her number off by heart” I admit embarrassingly.
“Do you know any other numbers?” Gage asked. I shook my head.
“I normally have my phone, so I just call people through my saved contacts” I mention.
“Shit. That’s okay, I can just walk you home” Gage tried to come up with alternative solutions. I guess I have to tell him the truth.
“That would be a waste of time” I mutter.
“No, I don’t mind!” Gage smiled.
“I don’t mean it like that. My wife and I had an argument, yes, but she also kicked me out” I admitted.
“Oh my god, that’s terrible” he empathized.
“No, it’s fine. She just wanted to push me to get back on my feet. She probably just needs some time to calm down” I explain.
“Okay, well, is there anywhere else you could go?” Gage asks.
“No, I don’t think so” I sigh.
“Don’t have any family you can visit?” he continues.
“I have a sister, but she moved recently, so I don’t know her address” I mention.
“Without your phone, you’re stuck down here, huh? Well, at least for a little bit. You could stay with us for the week, and then you could go see how she’s feeling” he suggests.
“I guess so” I huff.
“Or, what about we try to find your phone so that you can call your sister?” Gage stipulated.
“That could work” I agreed.
“Do you remember anything about the people that attacked you?” he continued.
“Yeah. There was a bald person who had tattoos all over their face, a girl with red hair, and a guy with lime green hair. It was all kind of a blur. I know they were all wearing black with lots of spikes and patches” I recall.
“Lime green hair? Hold on, I think I know him” Gage pulled out his phone and began scrolling through it. Why would Gage know this guy? My alarm bells are going off.
“Found him! Is this the guy you’re talking about?” Gage asked, showing me his phone. Lime green hair, dark circles around his eyes with glowing green irises and enough piercings to make him look like a pin cushion. I didn’t remember the piercings, but that definitely looks like the guy who attacked me.
“How do you know this guy?” I ask. I really hope they’re not friends.
“I met him on a dating app, and as soon as we started talking, I hated him. He’s an asshole who only cares about himself” Gage rolls his eyes.
“So, he’s just an asshole? I could have told you that” I scoff.
“He’s, uh…. A special kind of asshole. He’s a Vulture” Gage winced.
“Figuratively, right?” I question.
“It’s the name of their gang. The Vultures are… pests. They don’t make a lot of money, so they resort to petty shit like beating up and robbing innocent people” he explained.
“A gang?” I think out loud.
“They probably just sold your phone to the pawn shop when they couldn’t unlock your phone” he rambled.
“How many pawn shops are there?” I ask.
“Only one” he answers.
“Well? What are we waiting for? Let’s go!” I shout, getting up from my seat.

Do you love sinigang? Ofcourse everyone loves sinigang. It is one of the best, popular and traditional philippine dish. Sinigang is very known for its balance taste of sour and savory. This filling soup is produced by simmering meat or shellfish along with veggies like eggplant, tomatoes, and onions in a broth made with tamarind. It's a well-liked meal that has been a mainstay in Filipino restaurants and homes across the globe for many decades. It is believed that Sinigang is originated in the Philippines during the Pre-colonial period.
As we all know, one of the best ingredient in Sinigang to achieve its sour taste is tamarind. If you are one of soup lovers, sinigang is fit for you. Tamarind as a souring agent is one of the reason why i love sinigang so much that i am able to eat the dish pairing with a hot rice every day. For me, its everyday fiesta and celebration whenever there is a Sinigang on the table. I even request this dish very often. Whether it's beef, pork, chicken, shrimp or fish, sinigang will always be my favorite. And even in my sick days, i really do prefer to have a sinigang in my meal because of the hot and sour taste of its soup that eases not just my hunger, but also my awful days. Sinigang is really just a top tier and 100/10 dish that i will never get tired of. Sinigang is my one and only comfort dish and favorite.
