what’s so crazy is with straight famous couples it’s usually sooooo obvious when they have breaks, rough patches, see other ppl, etc. throughout the years. But with dan and phil I feel like that is just completely nonexistent???? Like do u think they EVER had some sort of break or rough patch?

i mean i wouldn't know! based purely on optics i'd say no, but based on the facts we know idk how they could possibly have gone through all of that without it being too much at some point... idk. we don't know! and we'll probably never know. and that's fine. i think we're better off going by the assumption that they've been together and mostly fine the whole time, if anything else happened that's their business and it doesn't really affect us at all now in 2024.

we as phannies very much romanticise dan and phil's relationship because we only ever see the good parts, but i think that's a good thing. there is no reason why we as an audience should know the exact details of their day to day lives, but we know they wouldn't portray anything they don't want us to believe. dan and phil are always very calculated. they know what they post, they curate the info they give us, by all accounts they're more than good now, frankly they're kind of gross atp, and all the things that did or did not happen in the past do not matter at all what so ever.

“the little conejita will be fine, now go do your work, i barely see the little princesa now since you’ve started bringing her to your meetings.” valentino crouched to your height opening his arms up for you which you ran into wrapping your arms around him. “your cue to leave now vox before she wakes up fully and gets upset about you leaving.” vox nodded, starting to leave as valentino picked you up and your bag then heading to sit on the couch in front of one of his sets.

you just set your head on his chest causing valentino to signal his camera men that the shoot couldn’t start yet. “princesa, i beg of you do not get cranky with me but you either need to face away so you can’t see the set or go sit in my office.” all you did was let out a whine causing valentino to sigh. “angel dust has a scene later so you can go sit in his dressing room with the pig later if you can just listen to me now?”

you just nodded, moving your head so you were facing him, he smiled pressing a kiss to your temple before pulling out your headphones and phone. he put on some princess movie. “you need anything from me you just tap me a couple times okay?” you nodded before putting the headphones on your head.

he started his scene and it didn’t take long for you to fall asleep, after a while of you asleep he called one of his assistants over to bring you to his room upstairs and to lay you on the bed making sure you stayed asleep

it took an hour for you to wake up and for valentino to hear your screams. he immediately picked up your bag and started running to the room. “sir i don’t know what happened she woke up and just started screaming.” valentino signaled the assistant to leave sitting next to you on the bed. “hi princesa, can you look at me?” he said trying to pull your hands off of your face.

you let him sitting up and bringing yourself onto his lap, him cooing at you as he wiped your tears. “it’s okay princesa, i’m not gonna let anyone hurt you.” he expected you were just upset due to waking up and not seeing him or vox but his assistant. he pressed another kiss to your temple before pulling your stuffed animal out of your bag.

you just shook your head while grabbing the stuffed animal from you. “princesa talk to me what’s wrong?” he sighed as he noticed your tears keep falling. “he killed me when i was alive.” valentino’s soft expression that he always had with you immediately turned to a pissed off one that most of his employees saw.

valentino immediately texted velvette to come watch you once she arrived, valentino wordlessly got up, grabbing his gun off his dresser before leaving the room. velvette grabbed your headphones out of your bag immediately putting them on you, seconds before she heard the gunshot ring around the studio. valentino came back, blood on his face. “don’t worry about him anymore princesa, it’s taken care of.”

General ideas:

Noah knows/learns spanish. Bonus points if Alejandro isn't aware until the perfect moment.

Alejandro thinks he can get away with flirting with Noah in spanish. Noah starts shit talking in spanish. Noah learns so he can hear all the little comments Alejandro keeps making under his breath. etc. so many possibilities.

Now that the show is over and Noah's off to college, he realizes he’s missing something in his life. Maybe it’s his friends, maybe it’s a lack of ever-looming danger, OR maybe it’s Alejandro. Who fucking knows. He’s too busy trying not to be in love with Alejandro to figure it out. 

Their group project is failing, horribly. There’s one thing Noah knows for certain: Alejandro's to blame. At what point does slippery eel turn into a term of endearment?

They have never ever fallen asleep next to each other. Let alone in each other's arms. Never.

You're parked outside the triplets house waiting fro Nick. You put your phone in the small suction phone holder of your car's window. You start a video on tiktok. "Okay, so i’m picking up Nick to go to this dinner we reserved and when he gets in the car i’m gonna do the ‘kissing my best friend’ trend”

When he gets in the car he says “C’mon girl get going. We needa be there at six,” when you don’t move the car at all. He finally looks up from his phone and notices the phone recording. “Are you making a video right now? Seriously Y/n?” and gave you 'the' look.

“Uh, yeah. I need to tell you something real serious.” You ‘nervously’ place your hands on the center console between you two. Nick draws his face up in confusion and turns off his phone, shoving it in an empty cup holder.

“What is it..? It better not be a joke or something because we really are gonna be late, girl.” He holds up his hands in a defensive pose. You grab onto them and hold them gently in yours. “It’ll be real quick, I promise bae.”

He nods. “Okay, close your eyes.” You demand him. He screws in his lips and closes his eyes after saying “Alrighty.” You turn your face towards the camera with your mouth open in a surprised way then it quickly turns into a sly wide grin. You work quickly, sloshing your lips right on top of him, making him jump in surprise.

He opens his eyes, immediately moving his face away from yours. You lean back into your seat ‘nervously’ looking down and playing with your hands. “Woah, dude.” You can hear in Nick’s voice just how shocked he is.

Once you look up at his face after the thick silence between you two, you burst out laughing. You couldn't take his disgust, visibly uncomfortable face. “OH MY GOD, DUDE.” You cackle loudly and snort a little as you hit both your hands repeatedly against the steering wheel.

Nick just looks concerned for you at this point. “Girl, are you okay like for real?” He talks slowly like he’s speaking to a kid. You finally catch your breath and put a hand on your chest. “Yeah, oh my God that was great.” You reply, shaking your head. “Well, um like, what the fuck was that?” Nick sticks his left hand out in a ‘go on’ way making you get the hint.

“OH. Lmao, bae it’s what the camera was for. It was just a prank, don't worry. I don't like you like that.” You say patting his shoulder comfortingly. He lets out a huge sigh. “Oh my God, that’s great to hear, girl. I wouldn’t know WHAT to say if it was true.” He said with a violent(dramatic) shiver at the end of his sentence.

You grab the phone from the holder and go to end the video, but not without a, “Gosh, your face dude.”

MATT:

You set your phone on the counter left of the stove where Matt was currently mixing the pasta sauce. You smile sneakily into the camera walking behind Matt.

You had previously told him that you wanted to document this beautiful moment. So Matt thought you were filming a sweet tiktok about you guys cooking pasta together. You hug Matt from behind, giving the camera a wink real quick just so he doesn’t get suspicious.

“So guys, we’re making the best pasta ever tonight, can you believe?” You lean your forehead against his shoulder, sneaking your arms around his waist. “Um-actually, I am making it. All. So I don’t know what you're talking about, crackhead.” Matt sassily said back as he slapped your head playfully.

You just hummed in response and swayed you two side to side. You two stayed like that for a few minutes before he had to add the noodles to the sauce, leaving it to simmer in the pan. He turned around after and hugged you tightly, wrapping his arms around your shoulders.

You lifted your head from his body and glanced at the time left on the video. Seeing as it was nearly over with, you decided to make the move before you lost it. You used one of your hands to hold onto Matt’s cheek to bring his face closer.

You notice a small pick up in Matt’s breaths, smiling softly looking into his eyes. You decide to close your eyes so as to not see his facial reaction and just go for it before you back out.

You’ve had a crush on your best friends for about the whole time you’ve been friends for, which would be around five years to this day. Moving your face impossibly closer to his, you go ahead and slowly slot your lips with his plump ones.

After what felt like years you finally feel Matt kissing back and moving to hold a hand to your cheek. He comfortably rubs his thumb back and forth on your cheek while your lips are locked together.

When you guys pull away shortly after, he is so sweet. “What‘s that for?” He furrowed his eyebrows looking away from your eyes, seemingly nervous all of the sudden.

You admired the beauty and gently pushed his head back so your eyes lined up with each other. “Just cause you’re cute.” You replied with a sweet smile on your face.

And the video finally ran out of time cutting the camera off abruptly with Matt’s forming grin.

CHRIS:

You guys are just cuddling on his bed having a nice little hang out. It was all well until you came across a tiktok trend called ‘kissing my best friend’. Shocking Chris as you get up quick from the bed pulling his arm with you.

“Let’s do this tiktok trend I saw babe!” you tell him shaking his arm vigorously. Chris gives you freaked out eyes replying, “Well I might if you let go, you crazy!” You pout releasing his arm in your grip and Chris sigh heavily rubbing his arm in dramatics.

“Show me ma.” he gestures to your phone that’s currently resting hazardously on the floor from when you got up. “OH, yes!” you yell, grabbing the phone and begin explaining the plan.

“Okay so it’s this thing where you kiss your best friend and like see where it goes. BUT, I want to use that as an opportunity to tell everyone we’re dating.” you smile big at your idea you thought of in a short span of time.

Chris looks very thoughtful while looking at the ceiling scratching his head. “I guess if you’re ready babe. And only if you really wanna, okay?” he replies, sending you a small and sweet smile checking if you’re sure you’re ready. You show him an even brighter grin in return saying, “Of course baby. I wanna finally tell everyone you’re taken.” with a small giggle.

“Alright then crazy, what I gotta do?” Chris says, chuckling. “Okay! I’m gonna pretend to tell you how to do a dance thingy and then I'll just kiss you randomly and then we tell them.” you say excitingly, setting up your phone with the recording display on screen against his gaming desk.

Chris slaps your ass once you stand back beside him at a reasonable distance from the desk as the video timer counts down from three. “You ready ma?” he makes sure once more before and you hum a yes, excited for the outcome.

“Hey my besties, Chris kindly applied to be my helper today.” You gesture to the boy giving you crazy eyes with your hands. “Excuse me crazy lady, I think you meant ‘forced’ to help.” He sassed, pointing his finger in your face.

You smack his hand away with a stank face giving him a side eye. “Anyways, this hoe needs to get a grip and focus. So all I need you to do is follow the song and after everything I say you say, ‘yeah glo’, alright?” You grab his phone from on the bed and pull up a video of people doing it.

“Yeah, sure whatever.” Chris playfully rolls his eyes and watches the video you show him. “Okay, hoe! Let’s do this thang bae.” you yell, clapping your hands thrice and set up his phone on video with the song starting, while yours continues to record for the set time of ten minutes.

“Yeah glo!” Chris says loudly, bobbing his head back and forth to the beat with his arms crossed over his chest. “Stomp a lil’ pussy ho with some shell toes.” You try your best to not laugh or smile, trying to keep it serious.

“YEAH GLO!” Chris screams this time, shaking his head side to side with vigor like a rockstar while rocking his hips. You let go of holding in your laughs. “Slappin’ rap bitches and makin’ bail, ho!” you turn your body to face your boyfriends as your voice cracks in between words and makes Chris snort a laugh.

“Yeah glo!” You grab his face quickly and slot your lips onto his with a little force. He kisses back of course and grabs your hips to pull you in closer. You both kiss deeply with a bit of tongue for about a minute before pulling away with big smiles plastered on your faces.

You hug him around the shoulders starting in his lips while he keeps his hands resting on your hips giving the camera a dark, lustful gaze from his hooded eyes. He keeps a slight smirk on his face squeezing your hips to get you to hurry this up.

You hurry to face the camera, heading to pick up both phones and posting chris’ video with the caption ‘We’re dating hoes(insert emoji)’. You hold the phone to your face so it only shows your eyes and forehead.

“We’ve been dating for two months, besties. Heheheh!!” you tell the camera and cut the video, posting the outcome with a ‘Kissing my best friend trend’ taking up the top of the video and no caption needed.

You turn back around to run to Chris, but it seems he couldn’t wait any longer as he was right behind you. You giggled as he gripped your waist again, this time rougher than before, and smashed his lips right onto yours.

And soon your giggles became low moans in your boyfriend's room as he picked you up and tossed you on his bed.

THE NEW BREAKUP TIMELINE!!

after some consideration, i'm changing the breakup timeline for our lovely friends samy and will!!! wooohooo!! (because let's be real, could i really drag it out that long? no.) i've bulleted everything that's changed, so take a read and see what's new!! i will be writing bigger fics for the major points so don't worry, but if there's any bullets you want expanded into a fic or blurb, let me know!!

i will still keep the previous breakup timeline fics up, we'll just pretend some of it doesn't exist and it's like a parellel universe to the au lmao. the charm bracelet still does exist btw!! but yay!! enjoy new samy and will timeline!! i just love them so much i couldn't drag it out more, so i changed it up!! also yes will's new post may have influenced this decision as well :))

will breaks up with samy a few days after they get back from worlds (end of May)

samy and will don’t speak for the month of June (the longest they’ve gone without talking)

will goes to the bauer combine where he talks to this girl in hopes of getting his mind off samy, but it doesn’t work because when he makes a joke that the girl doesn’t laugh at because only samy gets, will realizes it’s all wrong and he shouldn’t have broken up with her 

this highkey makes him spiral hard because he realizes how big of a mistake he made 

he panic calls gabe and ryan in hopes that they’ll tell him what to do 

gabe and ryan tell him that he needs to talk to her!! 

will’s scared to reach back out because what if samy doesn’t want to talk to him (rightfully so)  

he goes back home for a bit where he confides in grace and his mom (for once!!) 

they tell him that he should reach out if he wants it’s really up to him, but he needs to realize he lost all of samy’s trust because of what he did and said, so she may not warm up to him as quickly or easily 

meanwhile, samy sees all the content of will at the combine which makes her happy and sad at the same time 

happy because he’s experiencing all these things and meeting so many new people, but sad because she misses him and wishes they worked something out between them or at least talked more before will made that decision

she doesn’t reach out though. too scared and not wanting to distract him from working on all his media things 

another week passes and now it’s july which means the smith + hughes family vacation is coming up!! 

(i said will would skip out on this, but i’m changing it so he does end up showing up) it’s the first time they’ve seen one another since the breakup so two months 

they’re kind of awkward and avoid each other at first because they’re only really there because their parents forced them to be 

samy hangs around on the deck or anywhere away from the boys because she knows wherever her brothers are, will is there 

(jack, quinn, and luke are like lowkey still pissed at will, but they cool off a bit when they talk to him about it more and see that he really regrets it and wants to get back together) 

on the third day, samy and will can’t keep avoiding each other. they’re the only ones awake one night after a long day going out and about with everyone 

will approaches samy first when he finds her down on the dock just sitting by herself 

they talk some awkward small talk before getting into the meat of everything 

in short, will admits he messed up, he was just scared of the distance and not being good enough for her because he’s gonna be so far away once summer’s over and he doesn’t want to hold her back from anything 

samy half forgives him, but tells him she wishes he talked to her more. basically, will’s going to have to work to get her trust back and he definitely knows that, so they decide to start back as friends before jumping into anything

after that talk, the rest of the vacation is less awkward and they slowly warm back up to one another which the parents are happy to see 

the smiths go back to boston after the vacation, so samy and will don’t see one another again until the end of july/beginning of august when will’s move out is coming up  

they still talk a bit over text though 

(the farewell party is a bit different now and will knows they’re coming instead of finding out the morning before and they talk at the party again. another mini reunion again) 

samy talks with gabe and ryan privately later that day about her and will. 

once the party’s over, samy and her family and the guys stay back for a bit and they all just hang out like old times

later that night, will gets samy alone again. they make cute little small talk which leads to will asking samy to fly out to california with him to help him move in like they always talked about 

she agrees and so they’re all flying out that next week  

they spend that whole weekend decorating will’s apartment and making it “him” 

the day before samy flies back home to start her own pre season camps for soccer, will takes a chance and takes samy out on a date 

it’s like they never even broke up in the first place on that date 

by the end of the night, will asks samy if they could try again and he promises he won’t fuck it all up again 

samy agrees and they get back together with the promise that the distance doesn’t matter no matter what happens!!

hm. thinking thoughts

under the cut for spoiler reasons:

this is literally just me writing stuff up in no real order so there is probably not all that much coherence to it. ah well

loved how unsettling it was having something wrong with the tardis! the tardis (in the tv show at least) is usually the one guaranteed safe place in any given dr who episode and so to have it suddenly a threat like that felt genuinely unnerving

the time window sequence was cool. really liked the fuzzy, there-but-not-quite-there visual effects

i also loved the monologue/prophecy/whatever, built things up very nicely and idk. i just vibed with it. i have more to say but the words are not coming to me right now

"and standing on high is the Mother and Father and Other of them all" i haven't even read lungbarrow but them saying "other" here immediately got my attention lmao

for an episode called "the legend of ruby sunday", it felt like (particularly in the last third of the story), there was remarkably little actual focus on ruby. while i do genuinely like her as a companion, i do feel like she's been one of the biggest casualties of the shift to a shorter series length with less time for "filler" episodes - we simply haven't had the time to get to know her on a deeper level, and i was hoping, given the title, that this story would do something to rectify that a bit. and then it didn't.

saying that, i did appreciate them giving her some more scenes with her mum this episode, i think she has a really nice dynamic with her family and we haven't seen enough of it since the christmas special imo

no trickster :( he got a mention at least but i was hoping he'd be the villain ngl

i have watched pyramids of mars once, four years ago, and barely remember the plot (my main memories of that episode are sarah with a gun ngl), probably going to have to rewatch it before next week. dailymotion you may have to be my saviour once again

not entirely sure how i feel about sutekh as the main villain. this is at least in part because my memories of pyramids of mars are hazy as anything, but i'm just... undecided. to its credit, the episode itself actually did a good job of getting me very excited about the reveal while i was watching, but as an overall thing? i don't know yet. i think i'm going to have to wait until i've watched the finale next week to form a full opinion

i reckon he must have hitched himself onto the tardis around/during "wild blue yonder" though - this is the first time where the tardis starts making The Noises, and is also the first time susan twist turns up, and that can't be a coincidence, especially given that, as previously established, it was likely fourteen's salt trick in this episode that let the toymaker back into the universe

i rewatched "the church on ruby road" earlier this week bc i figured it'd be a good shout and i hadn't watched it since broadcast, and during that i felt like mrs flood was maybe a "retired" companion, possibly a future companion (maybe of a future doctor) that we haven't met yet. after this ep though, i'm not so sure. she seems at least aware of sutekh in some way, and also seems potentially antagonistic, but i'm not sure she's actually directly linked to him. i'm fairly sure as well rtd said at some point she's more of a mystery for later series so. hm. it'll be interesting to see what more we get of her in part two

i can't shake the feeling that they are going to do something with susan further down the line. there have been more mentions of her in this series than in basically the rest of new who put together and i can't help but think that this must be for a reason even if susan twist wasn't her

anyway the real mystery for me: what is the vlinx. i have been thinking about this on and off since december. what is it. how did it get into unit to begin with. i need answers

to me, their romance was always a puppy love born out of a combination of social pressures, naïve curiosity, and a lack of true understanding regarding intimacy and romantic love and what it really is. it was real in that they do truly, deeply care about each other and they are close friends, maybe even shared an attraction, but a maturing romance is so much more than that. they've grown up and out of being boyfriend/girlfriend, and that's okay! i think television/film needs to show more often that most of us don't have definite "soulmates" or first childhood loves that we spend our whole lives with. it doesn't mean these relationships meant nothing and didn't impact us, it just means they've run their course and that something else is in the cards, and this is part of life!

i've always felt el was at her best and most confident self when broken up with mike, discovering who she was and what she liked alongside another girl her age instead of just relying on mike for mentorship on how to live in the real world. she deserves more of an opportunity to find herself, her autonomy, and her independence, and to love who she is, and she's made it clear she's felt insecure in the relationship with mike because she isn't being loved and understood the way she wants, needs, and deserves from someone who is her partner.

also, it's okay if mike doesn't love her in "the way he should". he is not obligated to love her romantically and stay in a relationship with her just because she's a girl, because she "needed someone", or because he cares about her a lot. he shouldn't be pressured into a romance if it's not truly coming from his heart. he deserves freedom to find out and honour who he is, too, instead of just staying in his non-functional first relationship — one he got into as a child, essentially — and defining himself that way because it's what's expected when a boy and a girl are close. he loves her in some way, yes, but it's okay if he doesn't feel comfortable or secure being her boyfriend anymore, for whatever reason that is. he's felt insecure too, and that's valid and it matters.

they are their own people and are steadily growing and changing every day. they need time to figure out who those people are, and it's become clear (at least in my opinion) that those people aren't meant to be a couple at this stage.

they deserve freedom. they deserve to grow up and be authentic to themselves and not feel like they need to lie for the sake of a relationship. they deserve to move on from this version of their relationship that isn't making them happy and rekindle the best part of their bond: their strong, beautiful friendship. they don't have to be a couple if it doesn't make them stronger and better and happier people.

i think it would be healthy and wonderful for a show, especially one consumed frequently by young adults, to show a relationship starting, progressing, and ending on good terms in this way. sometimes things don't work out, and that is okay.

Chapter 110 is 13 pages long welcome to hell!!! so in a lot of ways this is just more fuel for a theory that I've had for a few weeks now, that's only gotten stronger with each recent season 5 episode, which is that the last episode of the season is gonna end on 110, and that Asagiri/Harukawa and Bones have been collaborating to make this happen, specifically because it's a major turning point that would be the only good place to end the season on.

When we started getting especially long chapters again (like from 25-35ish pages, with the exception of 107.5, the last two being some of the longest we've ever had), at first I just assumed that Asagiri/Harukawa got freed up from some other obligations they'd been having to cause the extremely short/half chapters, like promotional stuff for the anime/Beast movie, or working on light novels. But then 109 happened, with the "supposed" death of Dazai, and heavy emphasis at the end on how literally everyone is at their lowest point right now, and I got to thinking. 11 episodes is a strangely specific number for an anime season -- why not 12, or 13, or even 10, like you'd usually see? Why have we gotten suddenly gotten two 35 page chapters out of nowhere, that's almost unheard of at this point? They're both beautiful chapters, don't get me wrong (as always), and maybe A/H simply just didn't want to cut them in halves because they felt like the full emotional impact wouldn't hit/that there were no good cutoff points in them, but you can't deny that it's surprising, after all the shorter chapters we've been getting. Why has the anime been going at such insanely breakneck pacing for the most part ever since around the Sunday Tragedy chapters, even more so than it has in the past? So much so that it feels dangerously close to overtaking the manga?

Well, maybe, just maybe, it's because..... Asagiri decided a long time ago that whatever happens in 110 is the only point that feels "season finale"-worthy enough, in an arc that still isn't anywhere close to being completely wrapped up, and so both the manga and the anime have been specifically coordinated to reach that part within 2 and a half weeks of each other?

I've seen a lot of people now think season 5 will end with 109, and as much as my sadistic side would find that hilarious, I honestly don't think they'd do that and realistically don't want it to happen; it'd be so cruel to cliffhanger the anime for years like that, and just doesn't feel like a season cliffhanger BSD would do, a series that is ultimately hopeful and uplifting. Seasons 2 and 3 had a positive, conclusive ending; the only reasons seasons 1 and 4 didn't was because they're technically not really full seasons of their own, and are more like the first cour of another "season" that also came out that same year (seasons 1 and 2 both aired in 2016, so they're more like one big season, and seasons 4 and 5 have both aired this year, so they're also more like one big season, again taking into account how episodes 12 and 50 are not satisfying finales like episodes 24, 37, and hypothetically, 61, are). I really can't see season 5 ending with Dazai and Fukuzawa's supposed deaths, Sigma being unconscious and maybe close to death, Atsushi being vulnerable and limbless again, everyone we love still vampires, and the entire world being basically doomed; that's just too depressing and not like BSD at all. However, having said that, if it doesn't end there, there really isn't any good place to end the season before that, either, that feels in any way satisfying or like a finale at all. And so, to me, that only leaves after 109: chapter 110.

I think things are really gonna turn around next chapter. Like I said, everyone is at their lowest point right now, it cannot possibly get any worse, the framing of Dazai, Fukuzawa, and sskk at the end of 109 is telling us that; this is the time for the heroes to finally start winning again, with Aya being so close to pulling out the sword, and for all the thematic reasons other people have talked about to death that I don't need to go into here again. This upcoming chapter being so short again makes a part of me wary of 110 being "the one", so to speak, I won't lie, but at the same time, it's very possible that it needs to be that short because that's all the final episode of the season will be able to reasonably fit in, since it's already gonna be VERY close if they do make it all the way to 109. And at the end of the day, I don't doubt at all that Asagiri and Harukawa can make these the most monumental and game-changing mere 13 pages ever if they wanted to; a chapter does not at all need to be extremely long in order to be an important and impactful one, even if short ones we've gotten in the past haven't felt the most important.

An additional thought I've had, though this is much more crack territory than all this already is, is that since we know from Anime Expo that a Stormbringer movie at some point is highly likely (judging from Asagiri's reaction when someone brought it up), it's possible that chapter 110 and thus the final episode will involve the long-anticipated return of Verlaine and/or Adam, or at least some other major reference to Stormbringer, that would naturally and smoothly lead into a Stormbringer movie to explain things to people who haven't read the novel. It would make a lot of sense, especially since the s4 OP has the Old World sign behind Chuuya, which might be a hint that this has been in the works ever since seasons 4/5 were first in planning with Asagiri. We also know that Dazai and Chuuya's voice actors apparently struggled to record their lines together this season, which probably relates to 101 and possibly 109, but it could be 110 too.... I could be very wrong, as I'm no expert on this kind of thing, but I kinda doubt they would bring Chuuya's actor in for just the vampire growls, and Asagiri placing heavy emphasis on Chuuya's importance this season in that one interview gives me the impression that he's talking about much more than just 101/109. But that's the least solid evidence I have, that's just mostly based on vibes I get.

So basically, I think a lot of factors -- the unusual episode count, how close the anime is to catching up to the manga with three whole episodes left, the seemingly arbitrary recent chapter lengths, and the climactic events of 109 -- can tell us that 110 might be a very, VERY big deal. Again, there's of course no way this arc is anywhere near close to being finished, with so much left to address and resolve, but since it is currently incomplete in the manga, unlike the previously adapted arcs, if the anime was going to adapt it at all, they'd have to find a place that feels satisfying enough to end this season, knowing there won't be more anime for a long time after this, and so I think they specifically planned for that, from both Bones' and A/H's sides. 10 episodes might not have been enough to reach that point, but 12 or 13 might have been too many it wouldn't have been if Bones actually decided to slow down and let the story breathe the way it needs to, but this post isn't meant to criticize the anime, so maybe 11 was just right. And maybe Asagiri and Harukawa specifically pushed to make recent chapters longer than usual, in order to make sure that the manga reached the story content in 110 the monthly release right before season 5 was to end.

Is this just copium? Absolutely. Am I going to look like an absolute clown in two days when this post ages like milk? Probably. But the evidence is There, so let me just enjoy my delusions until Sunday, okay 🥂🫡

to be real for a second, i think there is a moment in the show where mike has a ~realization~ of sorts about his feelings but hasn't quite put two and two together yet.... and it's this:

this realization of "hey my feelings for will are actually maybe different than my feelings for my other friends, but i'm not sure why" happens at the end of season two. and then mike spends the entirety of season three acting sort of strange and different around will while having his relationship with him constantly juxtaposed with his relationship with el. reaching the end of that season which, despite all the supernatural shit going on, took the time to focus so heavily on those two relationships (and how fundamentally different they are), and having mike have the same realization he had at the end of season two makes no sense because it would mean he accomplished absolutely nothing in his emotional arc during the course season three

especially to claim that he still believes he has feelings for el going into season 4. especially to claim he still believes he has feelings for el by the end of season 4. it's to claim that he has not made any emotional progress in his relationships for at least two full seasons, that he's been going through all of this for it to not have made any conscious impact on him, and the changes in the way he acts from s2-3 and from s3-4 aren't a product of his character developing (growing, changing, to quote hopper's letter) but rather..... ? i don't know actually. just him feeling weird but not understanding himself at all. still. it just doesn't make sense to me. he's one of the main characters of the show, and to keep him emotionally stagnant for 4 out of 5 seasons (especially when we can see that his behavior is changing, that he has not been stagnant at all but rather deeply affected by everything) would be a disservice to his character, first of all, but also a disservice to the narrative which has been showing us his (as well as the other characters') struggle with growing up and growing into himself every season. and it simply doesn't align with what we're being shown

mike is already having realizations by the end of season two. but by the end of season three, he's starting to be really honest with himself about what they mean

I will say one of the funniest things ever is that I was figuring Callum to be less devotional than canon has actually made him in arc 2, purely because I always figured that if Rayla kept pulling her self sacrificial bullshit (see numerous instances in s4) Callum would eventually be like "I can't do/love you like this anymore" and leave out of self preservation, and then 4x09's "I know" came along and said no, he would never actually leave her over this, and that's fucking insane to me but I love that for him
