ooooo this is hard because I'm just not a comfort fic person. So probably the closest thing is Erik Gets a COVID Test by @paperandsong (hey girl hey we're moots over on my main!) which sounds like a crackfic but is actually really, really lovely and sweet. I know most people use fic as an escape, but approaching COVID through a Phantom of the Opera lens was.....honestly, I don't have the words for it but this fic touched me deeply. I discovered my loves of both Phantom of the Opera and epidemiology during the same year when I was a kid, so this fic knocked me on my ass in the best way, right when I was in the thick of Processing Things about being a frontline hospital worker.

🧠 What’s an idea you have that you can’t quite call a WIP yet?

So I really want to revisit the SpringCourt!Rhys AU in this love is difficult but it's real and spin it off into a trio of fics where each Archeron sister interrupts a wedding. I have a decent-ish idea of what that will look like for Elain and Lucien, but I'm still noodling on what I want that to look like for Nessian. Nesta is the High Lord's daughter and Mor's cousin in this universe, so I def think there's going to be a Night Court princess/Illyrian bastard forbidden romance but also Cassian being pressured to marry Mor in the aftermath of the Eris engagement. It's still so fuzzy, so I haven't put anything on paper yet.

I saw my neighbours get robbed once in my university house in second year (well, the aftermath - turns out they got in through their open back gate and windows... of our SHARED garden... but we had our doors and windows locked so we didn't get robbed...)?

Actually - I heard a crime being committed! My neighbour when I was in sixth-form was once getting aggressive with his girlfriend and I could hear them arguing clearly through the wall in my room (our rooms are connected). And then she began sounding very scared and telling him to get off her... and then I was like "oh fuck that's serious" and I called the police because I panicked and told them to keep it anonymous and then about 20 min later I heard his back gate rattle and he hurdled it because the police showed up and took his girlfriend in. AND THEN THE POLICE KNOCKED ON MY DOOR AND MY DAD ANSWERED. BRO I SAID ANONYMOUS. anyways my Dad then asked me to come downstairs and asked what I did and I told him what I heard and I felt like I was in trouble?? and my sister was like "If I did that you'd bollock me!" and tbh he would have but I have Baby Sibling Privilege - but my mam told me I did the right thing. Anyway he got took to court and done for it and he's actually really turned his life around now and he's still my parent's neighbour - he started his own scrap metal/handyman business and quit doing hard drugs and now only smokes weed and listens to dad rock. I once heard him having sex with a man through my bedroom wall. But yeah. Does that count?

ngl but i think after you eventually fall pregnant with a stark baby from….obvious reasons….its the wolves that notice first. like Greywind is already a bit protective of you but all the sudden he doesn’t even like when robb is too close to you. Ghost literally will not leave your side and no one can come within 5 ft without a massive wolf growling at them. They literally just won’t leave you alone and take it upon themselves to protect you, theyre with you more than the stark men themselves (who have duties they must attend to) and theyve started liking you more than them anyway (i would feed them table scraps 10000%)

greywind mirrors robb in his sort of wildly protective nature, but it just (somehow) grows when greywind senses you’re pregnant. now instead of by the door, greywind sleeps cuddled flush against you, covering your stomach with his body. he will flat out refuse to heed robb’s guarding commands, literally refusing to move away from you when you sleep. it seems like greywind has a mind of his own, giving a low growl as a warning when robb has a hand on or slings his arm around your stomach. and robb’s just ?? because usually they’re on the same wavelength, but he has no idea what’s gotten into him. and then the morning sickness starts, along with other symptoms, and you confide in catelyn (with greywind resting his head on your stomach as you sit with her). she sends you straight to the maesters, and they confirm you’re with child. robb finally understands what’s up with his other half now, and greywind resumes letting robb get close to you (& your stomach) again. because he knows robb will be gentle, knowing you’re carrying his babe.

and ghost. don’t even get me started on ghost. he and jon’s relationship (especially in the books) is already so funny. it’s more of a friendship/partnership than a master/pet relationship, and ghost already defies jon if he wants to. obviously, he heeds when it counts, but knowing that, it just confuses/frustrates jon when he starts standing between y’all. ghost loves jon, but it’s not uncommon for him to go off and do his own thing. so imagine everyone’s surprise when ghost refuses to leave your side. he still checks on jon throughout the day, but now, you’re doing your duties around castle black with this giant almost-as-tall-as-your-shoulder white shadow padding after you. he’s laying on the table in the mess hall watching you scrub a different one & immediately standing up on it to growl when someone opens the door to come inside. ghost starts literally hunting for the both of you, bringing you animals. you appreciate it, but it’s quite confusing. jon is so frustrated because as lord commander people have to be able to speak to him, but ghost won’t let anyone near you. eventually he literally has a sit down with ghost (because he definitely speaks english).

& he’s full on speaking to ghost just as he would speak to sam or edd. “She’s my woman too. D’you know that?”

then, as your symptoms start & you visit maester aemon, everything becomes clear. and jon is thankful that he’s not losing his mind anymore.

It's official. I have finished The Sunshine Court. I have so many things to say and yet have no idea what to possibly say. It was perfect. It was absolutely perfect and heartbreaking and gut wrenching and an insane emotional roller coaster and everything i could possibly have asked for from Nora. I was desperate for Sylus's point of view during the first time that MC meets him in the Alike and Cornered Beast chapters of Long-Awaited Revelry. I wanted to know why he touches MC so reverently but also quite brutally, so I spent a lot of time thinking about possibilities and this is the result.

It really bothers me in the game that the clearly traumatic experiences MC undergoes in the canon storyline don't seem to have any consequences for MC's character development. Yes, yes, this is a self-insert gacha mobile game, blah blah. MC has PTSD from chapter 4 (you know the one), and no one can convince me otherwise, so I re-wrote the auction bits from Sylus's POV to fix this grievous oversight, because I am also firmly convinced he is a champ at handling MC's trauma.

I thought that MC was too mean to Sylus in his 4 star No Way Out card, and I didn't like it, so I fixed it. I mean, I rewrote how it went like a proper rabid fan. Sylus shows up injured near MC's place, MC tends to his injuries, and he takes advantage of the situation like a vampire and secures himself an open invitation into MC's home whenever he 'needs' it.

You're suffering from insomnia due to untreated PTSD (probably, I don't know, I'm not a doctor or a therapist) from your family getting, well, exploded, and the longer this goes on, the sloppier you become in combat and just existing, and a bad idea is born (let's go to the club alone, drink enough to finally get drowsy and then go home and finaaaaally sleep it off). Zayne treats some of your injuries, Mephisto does Sylus's stalker bidding, and guess who appears at the club right before you're about to probably violate the Hunter's Association code of conduct on an idiot who has a hard time taking no for an answer? Spoiler alert: he can't sing but he can dance, even if he chooses to dance to the music he'd rather be hearing than the music actually being played. Full of clichés but hopefully with refreshing twists.
