people can keep coming up with angsty headcanons about why qPac passes out (crashes) so much- like he's got low blood pressure from not eating properly or he's exhausted from not sleeping properly- and I accept that

but to me he's just that one character in a kids movie that keeps getting injured as a gag. like he's just constantly tripping over roots and whacking his head off the ground, birds just constantly seem to drop rocks specifically on his head, people just keep inexplicably slamming doors into his face without realising it. qPac is just such a cartoon character to me I'm sorry

theo raeken headcanons

some headcanons that are present in nearly all of my wips, so y'all still get my incredibly correct opinions on theo even if these stories don't see the light of day.

because of being experimented on by the dread doctors he has a lot of gaps in his memory. not just from their abilities, but also because of the modified mercury! he doesn't remember most of his life before the doctors, and is missing some parts from after too. from time to time he still forgets things he shouldn't.

didn't really speak when he was a kid, even before he was taken by the dread doctors. the few times he spoke were to his sister or mother, but it was still mostly short sentences.

his mother died before tara, when he was 5, from a pulmonary stenosis complication. he also had that same condition, and his father got very protective of him after his mother's death.

he's a mama's boy deep down. he doesn't really remember why he is, but the first time jenna asked if he wanted to stay for dinner he almost started crying.

in addition to that, he considered the geneticist his mother for the first few years. he eventually stopped when he got older.

learnt biology and anatomy in latin before learning it in english. he hated having to learn the names of everything in english after years of knowing them in latin.

has very sensitive eyes from living underground for so long and from the doctors' experiments. prefers going out at night and still wears sunglasses because the city lights give him headaches.

he doesn't have a notion of gender, or of anything related to it. still, he is very much trans, and has been using he/him pronouns for himself since he was a kid. he also switched between calling tara his sister and his brother.

the doctors made him a werecoyote before making him a werewolf, and he's more similar to a coyote in behaviour because of that. on the other hand, he's physically closer to a wolf.

theo isn't the first name he's had. he's been through at least ten other names, didn't really care about them because he wouldn't keep them for too long anyway. theo is the only name he ever had a chance to hold on to.

he's had symptoms similar to mercury poisoning for years because of the modified mercury, but he's been riding on adrenaline for so long that post-canon his health crashes for weeks.

he has a mild form of chromesthesia and from time to time will stare off into space while listening to people talk because he's paying attention to the colour of their voices.

got the name theo from a book when he was 16, when a test subject he was friendly with lended it to him. that book is still under the seat of his truck, along with a shard of bone he kept after their death.

HELLO RESIDENTS OF TUMBLR DOT COM

I'm about to begin working on a dating sim game featuring my original world and characters alongside some friends of mine, but first I need YOUR HELP with finalising the line-up of dateable characters!

The currently decided dateables are as follows (with varied art pieces I've done of them included for visualisation purposes):

Enatras (he/him): known best for being the king of the Orchels, more commonly known as "dark gods". He's the god of destruction and the void, and he's had a history of violence. Currently he's trying to repent for his past actions by establishing diplomatic ties to his brother's group of gods. He's sarcastic, slightly suspicious, and definitely still seems evil despite his right-hand woman trying to assure you that he's just acting like that for fun.

Lendelrem (he/they/she): the god of life and death, their main job involves collecting spirits of those willing to move on and reincarnating them as plants and animals. They seem blank faced and unfeeling at first, but there's a lot of complex emotions hidden beneath their mask.

Karmelerre (she/they): Acrente's twin sister and the god of knowledge, she's one of the most responsible gods and takes her job very seriously. They act put together and strong in public, but behind the ornate doors of their library rests a tired woman, seeking comfort in the strong halls of books. She dedicates a large portion of their time to cleaning up their brother's messed.

Acrente (he/they): Karmelerre's twin brother and the god of creativity, known and widely loved by mortals for the huge parties they throw alongside their best friend. His irresponsible and fun loving demeanour is near constant, but when it falls it falls hard.

THE OPTIONS FOR THE FINAL 2 DATEABLES:

Soubern (she/her): the god of summer and one of the royal children, Soubern is the brightest of all her siblings. Lights up a room like sunlight and brings with her the warmth of summer. A comforting and kind character, known to fall in love easily. She also loves wearing the worst colour combinations known to god-kind as a way to annoy her brother.

Purzentry (he/they): the god of cats and adoptive father or Bezenade (god of bees). Purzentry is gruff and unfriendly at first, yet fiercely protective of their child. They're slow to warm up to new people, and he tends to linger in quiet places. Has seen a lot in his life and now wants to focus on their family.

Lozured (she/him): god of love in all its forms, she has a tendency to latch onto new people and make sure they know how amazing they are. An extremely positive god with a loving demeanour, he uses a lot of pet names and nick names for people, and is big on all forms of affection and love.

Unexrial (he/him): the Orchel god of death, Unexrial is pretty much the exact opposite of Lendelrem. Energetic, loud, and very expressive, Unexrial is widely viewed as one of the two nicest Orchel gods. As an added bonus, he comes with a dog/bug/thing (Dyanyre, the shadow creature depicted with him below).

jughead almost immediately removing himself from the musical aka the narrative the moment that someone else (kevin & clay) starts writing their own version of it and in turn, his removal from controlling the narrative ends up allowing the characters to take back control of their own narrative because when jughead writes and rewrites the story, it ends up trapping the characters deeper inside the narrative and the cycles they are desperate to escape until they are repeating the same behaviours over and over again but when kevin & clay write and rewrite the story, it ends up giving the characters back their agency because they're trying to help them which then allows them to break free from the narrative and walk away.

My farmer, Clover! (Please ignore the drawings, I promise I can do better 😭)

She’s an energetic and cheerful 19-year-old who is just trying to get by. Clover tends to be a bit over energetic at times though, with pretty exaggerated emotions. A little crazy and deranged at times, but she’s getting better, promise. Even with her name being ‘Clover’, she’s not exactly the luckiest person out there. Clover grew up with her mother, who more or less, basically ignored her most of the time. So she had a lot of freedom as a kid, and often got into scrapes and bits of trouble. She was always an enthusiastic kid, but was often too hyper for the other children to handle. She often stayed at her grandfather’s when her mother was out of the country for business. And she adored listening to her grandfather’s stories of his life working on the farm. She admired him, but her mother often told her that it wasn’t good work for someone like her. When her mother had to move out of the country, she didn’t take Clover with her, so she ended up being adopted by a man who she came to accept as her father. After that, she had a relatively normal childhood and teenage hood with some small disasters and dramas. After finishing school, she had went immediately into a job at Joja after finishing school to start quickly making money. Unfortunately, it was absolutely not for her. She despises the place and company with a burning passion for basically burning her out within a year. Clover moved to Pelican Town in hopes of continuing the life her grandfather had left behind for her, heart filled with dreams and determination. She struggled a lot at first, but after time, she worked things out. And here we are now…

while it’s important that rj understood how prolonged exposure to trauma would mess with you psychologically on various axes - mental, emotional, spiritual, physical - it’s also very significant that he put in the work to question and explore how people could go about healing and recovering from their experiences with a realistic attitude.

sometimes they don’t heal - they don’t understand that they need healing, dismiss their instincts, or manage to bury all the complicated emotions they’re feeling. it’s seen when mat suffers from a severe case of survivor’s guilt whenever he survives a battle, and this is observed more obviously when he escapes from ebou dar without managing to save all the windfinders; he also doesn’t have the vocabulary to express why the abuse he suffers at tylin’s hands feels wrong, and his cultural background and his tendency to lie to himself prevents him from examining why this is the case. rand is simply incapable of dealing with the sheer physical, mental and emotional stress he’s subjected to without a support system to back him up - support that he’s specifically unwilling to ask for because he doesn’t want to be put in a position of vulnerability just like mat and has a very unique relationship with the level of autonomy he’s afforded and the abuse he may be subjected to as a result of his madness - and resorts to unhealthy coping mechanisms and internalises traits that also serve as an allegory for ideologies that toxic masculinity directly feeds off of; he reacts to aes sedai very badly although he eventually unlearns that instinct; he’s extremely suicidal, and lews therin works as an indirect metaphor for depression. egwene feels the need to be in a position of power whenever approaching a certain relationship (be it romantic, platonic or otherwise) after her time as a damane, and is often uncomfortable with setting down her guard unless she trusts the people she’s working with; rj has a very complicated track with his depiction of corporal punishment but he also touches on how it enables people in power to take advantage of it to abuse the people under their control through egwene’s arc. rand specifically laments how the sort of stigma and alienation that male channelers face will never really go away because of the fear ingrained into popular belief, and that’s also a very accurate depiction of how certain mental illnesses are received by society.

but rj puts in the extra work to explore how people who have access to support systems and are on the receiving end of patience and compassion are able to get on the path to recovery. he has nynaeve & co deal with the problem of deprogramming egeanin, the sul’dam and damane who’re thoroughly brainwashed by the seanchan. juilin is able to help amathera recover by being very sympathetic to her situation and protecting her from difficult situations that could trigger her ptsd. rj specifically spends a significant amount of time letting joline, teslyn and edesina slowly encourage the seanchan channelers to entertain the idea of their ability not being a curse and to even train to control it at the white tower. the maidens are able to get a read on rand’s discomfort with the dark and small spaces post dumai’s wells and are kind enough to always leave a light on in the dark for him; they also push rand to take his meals and care for himself. the asha’man are explicitly recognised as a group which needs to unlearn some of the toxic ideas encoded in the founding principles that rand introduced. rand himself is recognised to be in dire need of help again in the latter half of the series, although we never got to see the culmination of that arc, unfortunately* - but I have a theory that his arc as a hero is tied very closely to his ability to recover from the various traumas he’s subjected to.

wheel of time takes a very realistic stance on mental health and ptsd. more significantly, it recognises that trauma might not necessarily bring about a positive transformation in a person. and that’s okay.

*cadsuane’s arrival is the only one I can’t get a clear read on, and feels so obviously doomed to disaster from the very beginning given how her personality clashes with rand’s and with her introduction with the intent of controlling rand and never respecting his opinions or autonomy - but given how she’s criticised by the narrative, I’m inclined to believe that min’s reading might have potentially been fulfilled in a bittersweet way as her readings often are. if rand learned how to embrace his humanity again, I can’t imagine that she would have ever had a part to play in it that involved compassion or understanding.

Like I think it's funny people jump to "Sam doesn't know Dean" when Sam shows shock at Dean's behavior rather than "Sam is reacting to Dean showing a different side the role he generally plays which reveals a history the show is telling us of how they interact and define each other."
