Hey what happened in the 2020 season with Alex? (Sorry new fan and still learning)
omg you never need to apologise to me for not knowing things i literally know nothing
the 2020 season from the alexnation perspective was like being in a hamster ball being hurled around for 5 months straight basically but here’s the breakdown:
so for context 2019 was really really good for alex he was promoted as a rookie and he shunted a fair few times and most of the time wasn’t on maxs quali pace but red bull were the third quickest team so he wasn’t expected to win or anything. alex ultimately beat pierres points tally from his 12 races in the red bull within 7 as a rookie so like. whilst it was insane behaviour for red bull to promote him in the first place he did perform phenomenally
then we turn to 2020 pre season testing. mercedes was dominant as per (dreamy sigh) and the red bull was quick but looked. edgy. for both alex and max but ferrari were fucking nowhere so it was still like really positive for red bull bc it was basically two extra places gained and then. global pandemic. and then as a footnote to the whole you know. global pandemic. sebastian vettel was dumped from the love island villa (ferrari (everyone gasped))
and then! triple header one and the first race in austria had max running an upgraded front wing and none for alex and it was like understood i think like it wasn’t a big deal at the time
and then everything that could have possibly happened. happened. in the race and alex and lewis…yeah. but the world did in fact keep spinning!
and then alex got p4 in the second austria race (altho. significantly off of maxs pace in p3 for sureee) and everyone was like if only max had a rear gunner (wistful) which in my opinion is an insult to lewis and the w11 but whatever. nothing else really happened here other than horner and marko making kissy faces at seb during this time but that’s just contextfkdkd
so then the next race in hungary alex qualified p13 and even though max only qualified p7 and it was the third race of the season alex was getting eaten alive and george was on live tv like red bull are making him look like an idiot and he’s not an idiot and they need to fix it for him and it was like fucking hell what is going ONNN we haven’t even made it to the third race yet (like imagine anyone coming out and declaring this after australia quali this year like. wild scenes)
so then one week break and then triple header two started and during the races at silverstone they start talking in the media about when the best time to demote alex is even though the only times he’d finished outside the top six was brazil 2019 and austria 2020 which. pls consult youtube if you need further info here
they also changed alexs race engineer in silverstone so More turbulence altho completely welcome this time (simon rennie come back we love u, ur so sexc haha x)
then during the final triple header 2 race in barcelona he gets put on the most ass strategy known to man like with context this was criminal behaviour actually
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and then one week break and then triple header 3 starts (do you feel like a hamster yet) at spa and unbeknownst to us all at the time but later confirmed by will buxton and dts horner is in the mf pitlane in spa propositioning seb like one more year and then you can come home which. have some decorum alex is behind you in the garage. but anyway in the general media everyone was gagging for pierre’s red bull return so there were bigger fish
anyway. SPA. they did this to my boy
Tumblr media
and alex made the best out of it but as per the comeback kid episode of dts that everyone loves (🙃) alex was made out to be useless and it was like. wtf did you expect
THEN between spa and monza helmut marko was like oh btw alex hasn’t actually had the same parts as max for most races this year okay bye and alexnation was like…wtf. but then no one else really cared and it was like UMMM OKAY
and then monza happened and alex was in a first lap sandwich involving pierre and then second lap crashed into grosjean (alexs fault - live laugh love x) and had a huge chunk of his floor missing so finished p nowhere and then. pierre won and good for her i guess but then ex drivers were on live tv demanding alex step down for pierre which like no one has ever done this in the history of the sport as far as im aware so it was fucking savage especially when this was the first race alex had finished outside of the points for red bull in (with the exception of the two aforementioned events)
and then mugello wooooooooooooo!! alexs first podium!!!!!! i was gassed at the time but it was sort of sad looking back like if you listen to his team radio across the line from getting p7 in canada and then compare it to his first podium in mugello it’s. yeah! we were enduring it!!
and then sochi happened in its own weird bubble and alex was nowhere really got caught behind carlos hitting the wall at the first corner after a poor quali and that was that
then. triple header number four starts with horner giving alex an ultimatum of we’re backing you but we want results in the next three races or ur finished hunny which. okay
then first race of the triple header max ends up blocking alex in his quali run (live laugh love 2.0 x) and then:
YEAH
nurburgring was the they race me so hard incident. available to view elsewhere bc god knows im not reliving that!!
imola was again nightmarish. red bull media team said alex was working with a mental coach (patrick his trainer had got mental health qualifications basically) and was supporting him etc which. here comes paul di resta live on air laughing about how max wouldn’t need mental support. it was once again. brutal. especially bc he was getting a load of xenophobic abuse online already like fuck off
back on the track alex basically spun on his own but thought he had been hit and no one thought to tell him before he went into the media pen that he hadn’t actually been hit so it was fucking awkward and yeah twitter was brutal again
then istanbul happened. red bull looked promising but both max and alex finished well off so it was just whatever really lewis did a madness no one really cared about red bull
then final three races of the season started with the grosjean crash in bahrain which ended with alex on the podium and then checo won sakhir and alex wasn’t really there and then we were at the final race in abu dhabi where red bull officially signed checo (as confirmed by will buxtons analysis of the curtains. god i can’t believe this season was real)
Tumblr media
but alex didn’t find out for like two weeks later when the season was well and truly over and was taking drinks to the factory for everyone and it was heartbreaking and then he didn’t have a seat and spent the next year saying it killed him so. yeah…TA-DA

Kinda off topic, but do you think that people forget that F1 is BOTH a drivers championship and constructors? People complain that certain drivers are washed and if they had a different car they wouldn’t be as successful. I saw Zak Brown (I hate him sm, I don’t even have a valid reason I just do LOL) say how Max is great but he wouldn’t win championships without RedBull dominance. But isn’t that the point? Almost every championship was won by a championship level car. That’s how dominance happens BECAUSE it’s whichever team is the best at the regulations. It’s literally why FIA always changes the regulations, people expect we’ll see a drivers true form when they are in a different car. Also he said how Lando would match Max in a straight fight and… I’m sorry to say but their grids when they began were two different worlds. I respect Lando as a driver and person (I did question his comment on the Orange but it is whatever, no one knows if it was for PR or out of his own mouth) but we have literal past champions and experts talking about the driver’s expertise. I’ll admit the car is a huge play (maybe like 70%) but the driver is who makes the difference. A good example is Lewis. I love him but everyone knows Mercedes downfall. He showed how much the car plays a role but also how good the driver has to be. We’ve seen him in China sprint be able to get second place because of good setup from the team and because he was able to make that difference. You can argue for many drivers such as Seb, Kimi, hell maybe add Max when he didn’t have the best car on the grid, they all won races even without the best car. Even if those wins were through safety cars or just plain strategy, which is something some teams really struggle in. McLauren happened to be the best car in Miami and had a good start (dare I say luck too) but you can also see from the other teams that everyone was struggling. No one improved their times Q3, a lot of complaints about the cars not being right. This is turning into a Zak Brown hate speech now but I think it’s important that he realizes for Lando to matchup with top drivers like Max or Lewis he needs consistency. Something that drivers such as Charles is good at. He’s still young and he has time but currently? He doesn’t stand a chance in equal machinery, different from what Zak previously stated.
Sorry for my rant!! I went off topic myself but I just think a lot of people in the media (cough twitter) forget how many teams care about the constructors championship more than the driver’s one. No one is a car merchant because there is no way you can make the car’s equal in all fields. Even if the driver isn’t the most important bit their expertise is what makes the difference!
...heyyy (im so sorry it took me so long to answer this ask anon😭, I swear I would've done sooner but at that point all of my asks were just hate crimes and I was NOT feeling the vibe. I'm back now!!!❤️🤗)
But anyway, YOURE SO RIGHT NONNIE. Ugh and this is smthng that acc makes me so irritated sometimes, bc in the end, f1 is more business than it is sport and teams NEED sponsors. I feel like alot of ppl forget that, like the drivers and teams literally DO have to pay to remain in the sport.
This means that the whole point of a team is to build the absolute best of a car they can, especially for teams at the top (rbr, ferrari, mclaren, mercedes), bc that's what the sponsors want. That's what the drivers WANT. They WANT a dominating car. They WANT a car that's 1 second ahead of the wholeass grid. They WANT that. And if top teams don't deliver that then yes, they ARE gonna lose both drivers and sponsors.
I feel like so many fans forget that f1 is literally the MOST competitive sport. No driver wants to be out there in equal machinery. They just want to WIN. Sponsors don't care how competing cars have been beaten, they just want the team they've picked to be ON TOP.
Now, away from all the money talk, fans who put EVERYTHING a driver achieves on to the 'car' just piss me off. You literally cannot be saying that. You cannot be saying max's dominance is only bc of the car when this man has a 20 SECOND GAP to the next car, while his teammate is literally fighting to make it to q3. Like please. Go look in the mirror and think abt ur comments bfr they leave your mouth😭. Monaco also proves that so well, the redbull car was absolute SHIT there, and max still managed to put it up in p6.
Who is not a Zak brown hater in this economy nonnie😌✊🏽, dw I completely get u. Literally no points to add to that bc everything uve said is so right. I feel like Zak just puts lando on a pedestal that lando has NOT achieved. There's still a long way for lando to go, and while I am happy for him and his first race win – Zak brown immediately saying lando is a championship competitor right after it is just hilarious to me😭. Like slow down bro, chill.
All in all, consistency is KEY. And literally not one driver wants to be in a car that's the same as their competitors.🤗
Edit: also nonnie, can I ask who ur fave team/ driver is?? I just like the way you talk and I wanna know so bad now.

okay yeah I know i disappeared for a while but exams guys. i finally get to escape highschool and be more miserable in college. but what i came here to talk about is a couple of things. i've been chronically online ofcourse and have consumed a lot of media obviously. but I will give you guys a quick run down.
1. carlos sainz: WHAT THE FUCK FERRARI??????????? i mean don't get me wrong i'm so happy for lewis and as seb said the real measure is always whether he's happy or not and fuck mercedes. but them not telling carlos anything????? LIKE ARE YOU FUCKING INSANE??? NOTHING??? that's another level of fuckery. i love ferrari but man they just never fail to disappoint me. god damn. but he got his appendix removed and simultaneously injected jet fuel in his bloodstream so good for him. he better show these fuckers what they'll miss out on. and oh my charlos heart. how can you separate them? just how can you be so cruel? but hey i genuinely wish the best for both carlos and lewis. they're immensely talented and deserve everything.
2. max verstappen: my man dominating again. we love to see it. i love him so much and so viscerally i don't think anyone understands.
3. charles leclerc: i wish i could have the lec icecreams. he's so talented, i will cry. baby Leo is my favourite. he's doing so good.
4. ollie bearman: a talented boy. will walk to the ends of earth for him and his precious smile.
5. daniel riccardo: i honestly don't know how to feel about him anymore. like don't get me wrong he makes me so happy. but his recent comments about the horner situation did piss me off. and liam coming for his seat. idk man i just feel very icky about the whole situation.
that's it. that's the very brief debrief for now. catch y'all later.

ALEXIS, I just reblogged your ask about how checo has been flopping since ausgp and your whole point of the narrative remind me of something I’ve been trying to put into words for so long and I think I’ve finally GOT IT:
As much as racing bros don’t want to admit it, F1 isn’t just about racing. It’s theatre and spectacle like literally ALL FORMS of entertainment is. And there always has to be a story. Look at how a large section of F1 fans have termed this season as “boring”. Even during the merc domination years, there was a clear story: Lewis going after record after record (“how high can he climb” type narrative) and he had the nico rivalry to bolster his title reigns. Seb also had a very clear narrative for his return to the title scene.
Max, as much as I love him, doesn’t really have a “story” per say and checo is NOT anywhere close to providing him with one. But who has a better story this season than Daniel Ricciardo? The whole Icarus falling, prodigal son returning, tireless underdog storyline is ALL RIGHT THERE. And that’s why he’s been generating the most headlines all season, even before he got into the AT seat.
While we’re on the subject, who has a better story WITH MAX expect Daniel Ricciardo? His favorite teammate, the only one to beat him in equal machinery, the one who’s clawed his way back to the top after so much struggle while Max has had so much success? Just imagine how much more Max’s third title would mean if it came down to him and Danny in that last race, than him and Checo…who he’s already dominated all season 🙄 It’s actually a disservice to Max more than anything that he doesn’t have a real “battle” like he did with Lewis and Charles the last two years.
But they have Danny there as their ace they can pull out and suddenly EVERYONE is invested in seeing them go at it, even if its only one more time. In short, this is my essay that I’ll be second to RB headquarters as to why they need to switch Danny over in Vegas 👼
What you said!!!
(Btw saying max's season doesn't have a story is not a dig at all imo. He has no story because him and the new reg rb cars have been unchallenged. It really just speaks for how good he is as a driver and rb has been as a team.)
I really enjoy looking at the juxtaposition of how F1 exists because of the athletic spirit of pushing human performance to the extreme but at the same time is a media/entertainment event at its core. Especially in the context of Daniel's career, since he is a bit of an outlier in terms of career trajectory vs marketability (and is therefore more telling of how F1 functions as an ecosystem).
It's really no secret that F1 doesn't thrive under single team dominance. The more competitive the field is, the more interest there will be for the races and ultimately for the sport (source: domenicali himself). People's interest then translates directly into F1's livelihood bc F1 as an organization profits primarily through selling broadcasting rights and ad opportunities. Now that RBR has built themselves a gap even bigger than F1 had expected (source also domenicali) with no signs of slowing down or as you pointed out, alternative marketing angles/entry points like the lewis/nico situation, this season has begun to bore, which will hurt F1 financially, if not already.
On the other hand, it's against sportsmanship for F1 to do anything that can be considered manipulation to change this reality (it was explicitly stated that F1 "cannot intervene" RB's dominance). Domenicali's best bet (and what F1 has been doing so far) is to exercise budget caps in hopes of a convergence over time and a shortening of RB's cycle of dominance, with 'hope' being the keyword since there are way too many factors for anybody to really predict how this RB era will ultimately play out. While the hoping and waiting continue, F1 is in need of other ways to keep their seasons interesting. And you're absolutely right about this being where Daniel's marketability (existing and potential) comes into play. On top of the fact that people are simply massively interested in him in or out of a car, front or back at the field**, he also has the potential ability to make the championship itself interesting again, something Ferarri, Merc, Checo (and Domenicali himself for the time being) have all failed to do. As marketing-minded as F1's management is (remember when Domenicali literally flew to nyc for red bull's 2023 car launch with horner but then decided last minute to not attend in order to give Ford the full spotlight?), I wouldn't be surprised at all if they welcome Daniel's comeback as much as his fans, or maybe even more so due to its financial implications.
This is ofc not to say F1 can or will do anything about it (just like on principle they can't intervene RB's dominance). But if you think about it, at this point, everyone -- fans, media, sponsors, suppliers (the amount of ford/daniel content we've seen so far), Red Bull as a team, F1 as an organization, even (or like, especially) Max himself -- all want to see and benefit from Daniel coming back on top (except for maybe Checo but at the rate he's been going lately i actually don't know anymore lol). This is a momentum whose importance should not be underestimated. This is exactly why, even though Daniel's stock was at an all time low after mclaren, he was given opportunities and tool sets to rebuild and reestablish himself in this otherwise extremely exclusive, brutal in nature sport. Red Bull (and Mercedes at one point) does not do this out of charity or nostalgia. They're simply an acting agent for this momentum.
Anyways, this is why I think Daniel's F1 career is far from over. People who are quick to conclude "without a wdc ricciardo can't just come and go like alonso" fail to recognize that even not racing, Daniel generates more public interest than the majority of the grid**, an interest that ultimately ties back to this sport, which puts him in a very unique position.
** According to google, Daniel created thee biggest headline F1 has had in the past 3 months, with his overall google search volume ranking 3rd amongst all drivers despite not actively racing.

It's so funny to see people hating on Max for breaking Sebastian Vettels record as if Seb didn't text Max encouragement and seems to be genuinely loving the fact that he's record has been absolutely smashed. Because of course he does, anyone who has an actual issue with this happening honestly doesn't seem a like a fan of the sport because this is history, it is brilliant and unprecedented and incredible what Max is doing and if you cannot appreciate that even as a fan of someone else or another team, you don't care for the sport as a whole. And the same goes for Max fans not giving Lewis the respect he has rightfully earned.
No one cares if you find him annoying, or arrogant, or his dominance boring (all of which are incredibly bad takes but I won't get into that) he is making history, he is doing something that we have literally never seen before in Formula 1 and has already established himself as one of the greatest. And he's only 25.
If you cannot enjoy that, I genuinely feel bad because it's a wonderful thing to be able to be alive to witness.

13 and 24 please. Bring the drama blorbie!!!!!
24. topic that brings up the most rancid discourse
'max verstappen's A+ plus parenting' I hate this tag so much. death to this tag. fandom does not know how to talk about abuse, parental relationships and any of that with the nuance it deserves. people who hate him use it as a punchline, people who love him (who use this tag in fics) try to define him by his trauma it's just blergh. i think Abu Dhabi 21 as well, is a can of rancidity
13. worst blorboficiation
i was gonna say seb just cause newer fandom's memory of him is shaped by aston martin years and his friendship with lewis and doesn't reflect his redbull and ferrari legacy of cuntism (see back: defanged) and that fandom propping him up as a leftist cycling ecoterrorist like he's always been that person not cause he stopped winning and remembered he had kids...... like my guy drove for shell and aramco for Yearssss 😭 (like this growth is welcome and people can change for the better, but it is also recent. my guy had a private redbull helicopter 😭)
BUT I think there's a worse offender... and that's what chirlies do to charles... the way he's described as tiny and petite and feminine in fics cause that's the dominant 2020 narrative when charles is literally Big And Broad 😭 the emo sad boyfication of charles (which charles does play into, he's savvy of his public image too), but some chirlies take it a step further and have swallowed their own predestined propaganda monaco I love you and somebody you'll love me back, ferrari catholicism the god piety worship Pope Francis WDC... and there comes this idea of a charles who is MISERABLE and SHACKLED to Ferrari in a Stockholm Syndrome and he can NEVER leave........ when charles is very much a ferrariboo and happy to be there. not to mention the fucking tragedy pornification of charles, the countless tiktok edits and saying he's filling out jules/his dad's dream etc like let him be his own person..... I think charles is so interesting but fandom will either make him both the greatest ferrari driver since schumie and also someone who apparently has No agency and is getting fucked over by his team, his teammate, his teammate's dad, etc etc...

Quick and Weekly (or rather race week specific) kind of analysis, basically just my takes on what went on during the race.
WE NEED TO GET THE YOUNGER ROOKIES SEATS. Ollie was an absolute beast yesterday, finish p7, managing the tyres, MANAGING A 7 TIME WORLD CHAMPION BEHIND HIM, holding off the rest of the pack, close to overtaking george, just Nico with his experience was able to hold him off a bit longer. Scoring more points in F1 than F2. Scoring more points than almost half of the grid. All with just one free practice session. This kid has a future (the only driver I could actually call kid😂)
Ferrari look fast. Finally being able go see Charles’ pace yesterday, in addition to not being fucked over by strategy or any shit, they’ve done a pretty good iob on that car. I mean, a rookie scored on his debut, and so far, a Ferrari’s always been on the podium. Of course this is just the second race, but still.
Haas aren’t that shit this year. The car looks good. Kevin was an absolute MENACE yesterday. Holding off Yuki, Esteban, Zhou, Valtteri, Alex, Logan, Daniel ALL WHILE HE KNOWS HE HAS A 20 SECOND PENALTY. Also Nico’s pace was pretty good, holding off Zhou and Alex, and kind of with ease. Apparently having a TP other than Guenther is proving to something quite positive.
RB are in shambles. Like, Yuki was pretty good, but wasn’t able to convert his p9 quali to points, and Daniel is just not doing well, that even with that 20 second penalty to Kevin, he’s still dead last. (Maybe it wasn’t McLaren, it was the choice of leaving red bull back in 2019) (I have a whole thing in my head about Daniel, and I still want to make sure if the facts and data before sharing it). But it might have been a miss that RB didn’t get Liam in this season, but we never know. I mean, Helmut Marko did say that there could be mid season surprises. And so far, non of the RB drivers seem or look to be even in contention for that Red Bull seat, in all honesty, it appears so far that Checo is more likely to keep his seat for 25!
I am not 100% convinced with either McLaren or Mercedes. Like yes both are consistently scoring points, and gaining, but I can’t really find that speed. Like they are okay, better than last year, but not Ferrari level improvement. Also, the strategy that both teams put Lando and Lewis on (especially Lando) cost him a better position, more points, maybe even a podium let’s be real.
Williams are okay. Ngl, I love James Vowels, his technicalities and as he said in DTS his geek-inees (hoping to be like him honestly one day). I feel like, Saudi and Bahrain aren’t really their tracks, because they did well, both Logan and Alex gaining positions. They are a team I’m waiting and hoping to see thrive, because Alex and Logan both deserve it.
Stake were okay, especially with that Zhou crash in FP3, like he couldn’t even qualify, but strategy kind of wasn’t ideal, and in all honesty, they’re just kay, not too fast, but not too slow.
And finally, our leaders. Despite everything, they do be cooking (Adrian and Max, you’ve both done it). That speed, the tyre deg, just everything about that car is phenomenal. And Max deserves it, after everything he’s gone through in his life, and he deserves to re-write the history books, which he already is, with re-reaching seb’s record not even 6 months after breaking it. This man who everyone is bored of his dominance are all going to be crying and missing him after he retires (I DON’T WANT TO THINK OF THIS DAY, BECAUSE I’LL BE THE FIRST ONE IN TEARS) but Max Emilian Verstappen is something that hasn’t come and probably won’t come again in Formula 1 and Motorsport history.
So yeah, that’s kind if my inital takes in the race, kind if a mini summary as well, and may we always listen to the Dutch National Anthem because I’ve been emotional this week with Max and everything happening around him.
This is such a wonderful analysis that really doesn't need anything added to it because you've got this spot-on, so I will try to keep my own thoughts relatively brief.
Ollie did incredible and I am so excited to see him in F1 permanently. Him and Liam? The future is bright.
I am cautiously optimistic about Ferrari and I really hope that, for once, they won't fuck themselves over which is in no way, shape or form a guarantee.
K-Mag did so fucking well, and it brings me so much joy seeing my fellow Scandinavian putting on such a performance. And Nico had a decent race, which also makes me happy. It's obviously far too early to be sure, but their new team principal seems to have been a good choice.
VCARB are just... Well, I'm not even going to utter my thoughts. All I will say is that there is no way in hell Daniel will be a good replacement for Checo. Claiming Daniel is better than him is just laughable.
McLaren and Mercedes are giving Ferrari 2023 vibes with their strategy calls yesterday, and it will be interesting to see how they develop over the season.
I truly hope Williams will improve over the course of the season, because I want to see Alex and Logan do well so fucking badly.
As for Stake: they were unlucky, and I'm just glad Zhou made it out of that crash unscathed. It's a shame he missed out on being able to qualify because holy hell did that team do their fucking best trying to get his car ready. I want to see him, and Bottas, do well.
As for Red Bull, they are as impressive as I hoped they were going to be so far this season, and as a Max girl it makes me laugh seeing Max haters bitch about his dominance making the sport boring. I, for one, am having the time of my fucking life. I won't even think about him retiring at this point, and will just keep enjoying every race for as long as I can. And seeing Checo starting off the season in such a strong manner fills me with joy. I am by no means Checo's biggest fan, but the shit he went through last season at the hands of disgusting Helmut Marko and the F1 community at large has me wanting him to suceed. Put some respect to his name because God knows he's fucking earned it.
Thank you so much for sharing yet another wonderful analysis, my darling. You have no idea how happy it makes me, and how much I appreciate it. ❤️

GRACE F1 LORE
Thanks for tagging me @wisteria-wisteria <3
1. Who or what got you into F1?
Basic bitch answer but my dad. He was a big fan, and his dad was a fan. I was plonked infront of the TV to watch it as a kid, and grew up never missing a race. That was until Sky Sports braught it off chanel 4, and now my family can't afford to watch it anymore. I have to pirate it now coz I AINT PAYING 50 A MONTH go fuck yourself Sky Sports.
2.Who was the very first F1 driver you supported? Do you support them now? Have your opinions on them differed or stayed the same since then?
Probably Lewis? Or Jenson? I was (still am) a Mclaren fan as a kid, and my dad always cheered on English drivers, so I just copied him. I still love them both now, my opinions havn't changed on them at all!
3.Who’s your current favourite F1 driver?
Current grid? Probably Max, Fernando or Oscar. They are all so so talented, it's just a pivalidge to watch them drive. I think they're all really funny in their own ways too.
My favourite driver ever? Senna, obviously. Or Prost.... Can't ever pick.
4.Is there a driver pairing or pairings you support? What made you attracted to that pairing in the first place?
I support all and any pairings. F1 RPF in all forms is delicious thankyou. My faves are: Prost X Senna, Carlos X Lando, Max X Charles, Peroni X Villeneuve, George X alex, Mika X Michael, and Nigel X Elio.
The only ship I don't really vibe with is Pierre X Charles? Like idk I just don't feel it. But I'll still read it so lol
5. Do your parents, siblings or relatives have a favourite team and/or favourite driver(s)?
My dad supports Mclaren same as me. My sister isn't really into it? She finds charles hot and will watch edits of him but shes never watched a race or really gives a shit about the actual driving. Shes here for the thirst traps and Ferrari merchandise and I respect that so much.
6. Do you have any favourite races? Are there any that stand out to you the most?
Dallas, Texas 1984. What a fucking shit show. Absolute comedy sketch. Everything about that dumb race is so funny to me.
7. Do you have a favourite circuit? Can be from the past or from the current calendar.
Hungaroing! It was the first F1 race I ever attended, and the joy I get out of watching it and screaming 'IVE BEEN THERE IVE BEEN THERE' never leaves. The first race in person was special, so hungaoring is special now too.
8. Have you ever been to an F1 race in real life? Feel free to tell us your experience going to one if you like
Yes. And I don't know why but I was so shocked at how friendly everyone was. I think I was expecting it to be like football, but everyone got along so well no matter the teams ect. I always get general admission now, because its so much fun to sit and make new friends with other F1 freaks!!! Everyone shares food, alcohol, blankets, brollies ect- its alwaus such a good atmosphere at everywhere I've been.
9. Have you ever met an F1 driver in real life?
Yes. Seb and Jenson. In the same day. I nearly exploded, but actually managed to come off very normal and composed.
10. Do you have a favourite F1 car? If so, what is it?
McLaren MP4/4 1988.
LOOK AT IT
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The details, the colours, the absoulte perfection of the livery, and of course the V8 underneath that gave way to MCAREN DOMINATION. Shes perfect.
11. Do you have a favourite one win wonder?
Gerhard Berger or charles.
12. Do you have any favourite quotes from the F1 world? This can either be inspirational or hilarious.
Anything that comes out of Alain Prost's mouth. That man should be a fucking poet. Also- "I'm cuming on your camera mate" hahah
I tag @astirian , @bluesourkiwi , @kimizilla , @whobuilthemoon , @penseesauvageand @eliorosb3rg. Or whoever wants to do itttt love u all

It’s been a while since I’ve been on F1 tumbler but I had a scroll down through your feed and 100000% agree with what you say about Skyf1 and certain fanbases 👀.
F1 needs to start coming out with statements about these fans because they are twats, I mean booing Max because he won at Miami where I believe is a majority of people are Mexicans and of course they love Checo but my god most fans are twats because I saw some moaning saying that Checo should of started on hards like ok love the other 6 drivers would of swallowed him up and max would of got to Checo on lap 2 😂, Checo while I love him he has had some luck with some of his wins Baku 2021 Max would of won if his tyre did blow up.
I hate F1 fans honestly, social media has made fandoms so bad 🫠
Honestly some of these fans would not of survived Senna, Schumacher, Prost, Hunt, McLaren Lewis, and Redbull Seb 😂😂😂
Also all I’m going to say about these people that Cyber Bully Max which what they are doing is the correct term, let’s hope none of their Kids, Nieces and Nephews, Godchildren, and Friends get the abuse thrown at them like how they do to Max and other Drivers I mean do they think it’s okay because it’s Max noooo, as someone who was bullied severely in Secondary School I hope that no one goes through what I did, let’s hope those people who are throwing abuse at Max on Twitter or Insta never has to see a loved one cry about the abuse they are getting face to face and online because that will be Karma and honestly their own fault.
And those people who ‘Manafest’ Redbull and Max’s downfall guess what huns what you put out there comes back to bite you on the ass and it’s there favourite driver gets it I mean it’s called self gain, you want to be Cool and post it everywhere it will be your favourite driver gets fucked In the end and I sit there and laugh 😂😂
Sorry for the rant but I needed to say it and I love how blunt and truthful you are keep it coming
Nah never apologize for ranting bestie I love all the rants I get!! And I absolutely agree none of them would survive watching old f1, hell not even the English media could survive it. I’ve always said they only talk good about a legend of a sport once they aren’t a threat to their golden English boys🙄
See the thing is and I’ve said before it really isn’t the booing that bothers me. It’s the chanting abuse at Max and now his team, it’s the chanting about his mother, chanting wishing him to die that is what bothers me. The lack of response from Formula 1, Sky sports f1 and also the f1 community really shows that they all find it absolutely okay for people people to abuse Max, in person, right near him. They think that Max apparently doesn’t have feelings, that he can just take it because he’s Max, he’s Dutch forgetting that he is a 25 year old young man.
I understand it doesn’t bother him but Jesus Christ all he’s doing is going out and promoting f1 and their anti hate campaign only to get left in the cold on his own, no support but is expected to call out his fans who have done nothing near to what Checo, Lewis and Ferrari fans have done to him. He’s constantly attacked online when it comes to his body, his face, his driving, his personal life and at some point you have to wonder do these people have such miserable life’s to abuse a young man who they will never meet? I agree with you 100% that I hope yo god they will never have to see a loved one go through the level of abuse max does.
People acting like Red Bull have dominated since 2021 and it’s so fucking annoying because if Merc weren’t lying about their bouncing issue the rules would have worked just fine. Honestly some “fans” need to go back to eating chips on their sofa instead of sitting at their computer spewing hate towards max.

im p confused rn lol, feel free to ignore this ofc but questions are meant genuinely.
is it the domination that you have a problem with? the lack of fight at front?
or is it more simply you want seb to keep his record(s)?
or just with verstappen winning?
i understand the first 2 and hear the 3rd a lot but just ur prev posts came a lil outta left field for me lol. i'd like to hear your thoughts, with peace and love on planet earth <3
pourquoi pas les trois... actually i think it might boil down to two main things: my frustration at the continued erasure and diminishing of seb's achievements, and my pet peeve of Total Fucking Bullshit.
it's no secret that this sport has a problem with dominating teams. and yes, you could argue that's the point--hello, it's a constructor's championship, the point is to have the best car. and red bull have built beasts the last couple of years! seriously, all my respect to the team as a whole for pulling everything together. i was and remain a red bull fan at heart despite it all, and it makes me happy from an objective standpoint to see so many elements of a team come together in harmony. red bull is a well-oiled machine at work.
but i genuinely don't think there's been this level of domination by a singular driver in a singular team since like, 2013. think: if lewis' era of domination was so much "worse" than this as the dudebros like to say, why hasn't lewis come close to beating 9 wins in a row? the main phenomenon at play is the sport's short term memory--but really, the way fans like to completely forget 2015-2018 and arguably 2019 too really frustrates me. it wasn't like 2014 hit and suddenly lewis was winning everything. nico won the 2016 wdc. seb posed a real fucking threat in 2015, and in 2017-18 the messaging from the sport was that the battle between him and lewis was, quote unquote, titanic. a battle between, quote unquote, titans of the sport. fast forward to 2020/21 and the narrative is that nothing has stood in lewis' way for the last 6 or 7 years, and that his era of domination needs to be ended for ~the good of the sport.~
so seb makes a couple mistakes, fine, but mostly gets visibly cucked by his team for years, and suddenly he's nothing. his four championships mean nothing, his 3rd most wins in the history of f1 mean nothing, he's just ferrari's next failure.
but then the narrative around max. max, who's introduced in 2021 like he's an up and coming driver intent on toppling lewis' throne. it's a great narrative, right? mercedes took red bull's ball. red bull want it back. casually ignoring how max has been in the sport since 2016, max is red bull's new young golden boy, the one who's going to lead them to victory as the youngest driver like seb already did before and wow, wait, sorry for mentioning seb in relation to success there, let's keep on reinforcing that he's an old man who needs to retire. anyway, max is someone who doesn't give a flying fuck about anyone or anything except racing! max is a beast on track! max is [checks notes] our great white hope!
let's put the racism discussion on hold, because i think people try really hard to pin him down as this like, absolutely sociopathic bigot who is the most racist person in the world, and while he's not NOT racist, i don't think the extreme conclusion ppl are reaching is true. plus this rhetoric is mostly smoke and mirrors to try and find a leftist/social justice reason to hate on him anyway. so let's get fucking real: i dislike max for the same reasons i dislike taylor sw*ft. i hate that there's this blatant marketing campaign that fans buy into and perpetuate, that these people are the greatest of their generation, that they're masters of their craft. like, what? max's racecraft is just threatening to crash people out or push them off the track, something multiple drivers have been quoted saying. that's not ruthless, that's just bad fucking driving. that's an asshole on the dvp suddenly merging into your lane without using their blinkers or checking their blindspots and forcing you to pull out your defensive driving skills from that one class in drivers ed just to avoid a massive pileup on the highway. and i'm expected to suck this guy's dick?
max wins a fraudulent championship in 2021 and proceeds, for the next two years, to basically cruise at the front. it's like the second half of 2013, except it's lasting for a YEAR AND A HALF. only this time, instead of the sport trying to diminish this stint by saying it's just the car or that the golden boy has put himself above the team, people are......... celebrating? listen, i enjoy a singapore 2013 moment as much as the next seb fan but come on. get real. if every race was singapore 2013 that would be boring. and that's what we're seeing, but that's not what fom wants us to think we're seeing. it's complete bullshit.
which leads me to my posts. oh my god, i hated the comparisons between max and seb's first championships. the circumstances could not be more different--it was fucking insulting. seb won his championship fair and square, no rulebook bending required. seb's most violent moment on track that year was in turkey with mark--but he didn't park his car on top of mark's head and walk out saying that's what you get. how could people say that seb was anything like max.
seb's 9 wins at the end of 2013 were the culmination of five years spent fighting tooth and nail for his success. even for how dominant he was in 2011, there were still other teams up there! he had to fight his own teammate for so many years! and even with displays like singapore 2013, there were races where he was fighting in the second half of the season! and now we see this current streak of wins from the last two years where everyone else has tumbled behind and perez is contractually obligated to be a doormat. (not to say that teams haven't tried--i had so much hope at the start of 2022 when ferrari showed up with that pussy monster.) so look me in the eyes and say that max has fought with everything in him just to get that #1 spot. the two of them are leagues apart, but people--the same ones who have said seb is washed--are inevitably going to say that max has beaten seb, that max is on par with the third most successful driver in the sport. it's like a slap to the face.
and so we end back with the constant retconning of seb's position in f1 history. it drives me insane. he's nothing when it comes to propping max up, and then he's the benchmark to prop max up. he's a titan of the sport, and then he's just a failure. come on. come on. i'm just tired of my favourite driver never being given the credit he deserves, and i'm tired of having this fictional story shoved down my throat that max is anything like the goats in the sport. tl;dr. get real.

i had some semi developed thoughts earlier lol basically how clara bow is also about max and how he's the best right now but there will be another max in the future like there was another senna and michael and vettel and lewis and round and round we go
"it's hell on earth to be heavenly" @ every starboy of their own generation and how your star will eventually fade away and be replaced by someone who shines brighter (seb → max etc) bc you're entertainment now but people are never satisfied and have recency bias and get tired and want a new shiny toy to play with etc
oh hold on ... wait u have some good thoughts indeed. clara bow is so applicable to being an f1 driver in general.
In this light, we're lovin' it the media looooves an underdog story. they eat. it. up. when anyone but max wins it would be the best thing ever. but what happens when that person starts the new era of dominance? 2021 is hailed as an iconic season, yes because of the battles, but also because it was the end to an era of merc dominance. in this light, everyone loved it. now 3 years later its a completely different story. in this light, they hate it.
Take the glory, give everything the pressure they are all under. the pressure to prove their worth Right Now because if they don't, they're out. not even just driving but also in recent years the influencer aspect that comes with it. they have to take whats in front of them and turn it into a career and into likability
Promise to be dazzling a team committing to a young talent but also saying you now have to dazzle us. win. come on, show us we'll get our moneys worth. from a media/viewer perspective too: we'll give you support and love but you have to entertain us
i feel like those are all very mirrorball themes too: But I'm still on my tallest tiptoes Shining just for you
much to analyse and uncover thank u for sharing stella!!!

F1 Tag Game
Rules: Tag some people you'd like to get to know better!
thank you for tagging me @forzafinally @thatsluttylittlesoupcanwaist and @charlesleclerctv! you're all so sweet for this! <3
Who is your favourite driver? Ugh, Lewis and Charles are very close, but if I have to pick one, I would choose Lewis. He's just everything to me.
Do you have any other favourite drivers? Yes, I really love Charles, Oscar, Lance, George and lately Yuki and Logan became big favourites of mine. :)) (But I also love all of the other drivers mentioned in my profile description, hehe).
Who is your least favourite driver? Max, Carlos and Daniel.
Do you pull for drivers or do you like teams as well? Mostly drivers, I only genuinely like two teams.
If you like teams, which team do you pull for? Ferrari and Aston Martin, are the aforementioned two teams. I liked Williams for a while, but their treatment of Logan lately just kinda threw me off a bit.
How long have you been into F1? I knew about F1 since I was a kid, because my dad used to watch it during Seb's domination era. But I only really got into it in November of 2022.
What got you into F1? I always dreaded this question, cause it kind of proves the point of the sexist dude bros, but it's fine, I'll be brave about it. My friend kind of tried to get me into F1 since 2020, but it just didn't really work out. Until I saw a video of Arthur Leclerc on tiktok and I thought he was cute, so I looked him up, found Charles, thought he was the most attractive man I've ever seen and the rest is history... 🙈
Do you enjoy fanfic/RPF? I do, but not all of them. Some of them just cross a line and I don't fuck with that.
How do you view new fans? I try to be as accepting and helpful as possible, cause I know how it felt when I started watching the sport and I didn't understand a lot of things and no one really helped me. I don't want people to feel like they're not welcome, no matter how they got into the sport. What matters is that they're interested and they want to keep watching.
Do you have any friends or family who are into F1? My dad used to watch it, but doesn't anymore, although he always asks me what happened after every GP and I have three friends who watch F1.
If you could take over as team principal for any team , who would it be and why? I would choose Mercedes. As a former fan, it's shitty to watch the current state of that team. Also I have a saviour complex and I'm convinced that I can fix it. (I also think that I would be better than Torger, but whatever).
Are you open to talking to other fans/making friends? Yes, anytime! If you have any questions, thoughts or really anything at all, my inbox is always open. <3
I'm tagging @l8tof1 @rosberggp @availec @grandpriz @devilscherryflavouredgirl @lleclercism @hamiltonvi @leclerking and anyone else who wants to do this! :))

Re your interviewers not even sure what to ask anymore ask, that’s me but with the fandom lol. I’m literally this close to just starting to translate all of Toto’s German interviews just to feel like there is Any reason for me to still be here doing Stuff in this fandom, like what am I doing, exactly? Make predictable guesses as to who’s gonna win, only get surprised by DNFs and engine failures and battling in the mid-field, have my grandpa tell me ‘the races have really been going downhill’ and log off??
i posted sth about jude bellinghams dick game on insta on main yday and og bff asked me what im compensating for w footie posting and should he be worried abt my mental state and i said f1, because im just not incentivised to watch it anymore at the moment? im hoping it changes when races stop being so early - i am sad i missed nico's commentary the most tbh. i guess fandoms come and go and things get more and less interesting but the thing for me is - if im not enjoying it, i won't make myself watch/read/do it just because i've made it my Thing. i can have many Things. we all can. i think, when something doesn't bring joy, its good to step back. give yourself time. f1 will be there. 🫂
i also think there is this insidious thing that you have to be "productive" in a fandom, that you have to do, be doing something to justify your presence in it. i know i've felt off because im not churning out 10 ficlets a day anymore, but the fact is - you don't have to DO anything to BE in the fandom (this feels like some metaphor for life but i only took one sip of coffee today so far). fandom is about enjoyment, yohr enjoyment and sharing that enjoyment with people who also love a certain piece of media or whatever. this capitalist bullshit of treating a fandom space like it's a job (what am i contributing? have i met my quota of posting about my blorbo today? how many followers do i have?) like... who the fuck cares. i still count myself into the silm fandom and i havent posted about it in ages. doctor who, star trek, hell, fucking x men and cap america and hannibal and so many things. i am still a fan of so many things that bring me enjoyment. thats why im a fan in a fandom.
i guess what i'm teying to say is that its really hard sometimes, when you lose interest or get disheartened by someting thats brought you joy before. when you feel like you're "failing" at liking something. but i try to remember - im a person, i have interests, interests change. a thing i loved isnt that anymore. okay. not okay, but it's fine. you may find joy again, you may surorise yourself, or you may just drift to something else. you're no less you, and no less a fan, if your intensity isn't the same now as it was yesterday or a decade ago. and with f1... its changing so much that its honestly pretty understandable to feel that way. bff stopped watching during the seb era, came back when it looked like seb might win w ferrari, then skipped the whole lewis era. og bff skipped merc domination era completely. my cousins husband stopped watching the moment alonso won. ive had friends stop watching the moment max won. it happens.
what im saying, too fucking long and winded bcs apparently im in a mood today - dont force yourself into something that doesnt bring you joy. theres so much joy to be found in this world deapite everything, and you're no less you for losing an interest in a fandom.

Love Sewis but I don't think they are one of the greatest rivalry. Regardless of what they say they liked the most this is not what makes a rivalry. When Seb was at RBR he was dominating completely. Lewis at Mercedes and Seb at Ferrari and Lewis was dominating. It's not comparable with the Nico/Lewis or even Lewis/Verstappen of racing. I understand we all love Sewis but... let's be honest.
this is long so under the cut
‘dominance’ i think is a word that is thrown out too brazenly in my opinion; ‘dominance’ can be attributed to a few of seb’s rb seasons (but not all), to a few of lewis’ (2020 comes to mind) or max’s 2023 season; it’s rather more apt to use it for certain teams across a period, rb comes to mind in the 2010-13 run, and mercedes’ 2014-16 and 19/20; that’s dominance. it requires a sense of predictability before nearly every race…it’s like people would know who is going to win in 2020 bar any bad luck, and how people know max is going to win before every race now; that is dominance, and it’s characterised quite simply, by a lack of rivalry. Your only rival is yourself. End of.
i don’t like when people shove the 2017/18 seasons into the mercedes years of ‘dominance’; it’s diluting and it promotes a false narrative that it was an absolute cake walk; it also completely ignores seb’s triumphs, and his ambition and determination of achieving his dream of winning a championship with ferrari; the fact that it was a realistic possibility is what makes it so bittersweet; ferrari had a car that was capable of fighting for a championship, seb was leading the championship going into the summer break, the merc and ferrari cars both had their strengths and weaknesses that were track specific; point is, there was no one dominant car;
i’m not saying their rivalry was on par with nico and lewis’ and max and lewis’ because fact of the matter is that the 2014, 2016 and 2021 seasons went down to the wire; seb’s and lewis’ didn’t, that’s true; we can analyse why (for example ferrari’s inability to properly develop a car over a season which as we can see is an issue still today), but point is just because it wasn’t as intense, and that it didn’t go to the very last race should not take away from the ‘rivalry’ that did exist; it’s quite diluting i should think…
and judging the greatness of a rivalry, at the end of the day, i think it’s quite subjective, don’t you think? we all have different metrics; maybe it wasn’t the most intense and dramatic, and therefore some may say not as great, but it shaped something you know, ‘the fight for five’, it was important and made important by the two great racing drivers and individuals, surely there’s something great in that, no?
