i'm very :3 because the dark urge being fully customizable might be thanks to my very enthusiastic suggestion as a playtester.....I mean maybe other playtesters who came after me (my group was apparently the first to try the dark urge out, at least in gent, because the group before us didn't even know that origin existed) suggested it too, I don't know, but :3 even if I'm just one of the people who suggested it, I'm :3 because HELL YEAAAAH!!!!

I loved the dark urge so much (even though I couldn't finish my playthrough with them, since they were my second playthrough of the playtest) that i was like "this is too good, since they're not a companion origin story u guys need to make it possible to play them as any race not just the dragonborn variations"

Chapter 6

At first, life continued to be monotone for the rest of the boys. The only difference was Mingi’s departure which added further strain on the already overburdened household. Seonghwa and Hongjoong were no longer on speaking terms after the dinner, as Seonghwa demanded Hongjoong to get his mom off their backs but the latter argued that he tried and he didn’t know what else to do.

“Well if you tried harder instead of fooling around with Lila.” Seonghwa accused.

“You’re really playing it like that? You were also hanging out with Lila a lot at one point to Seonghwa.” Hongjoong spat back. 

“Yes and it was a big mistake on my part. She’s not my mate, Y/N is, and I’ll be damned Hongjoong if I lose Y/N because of your negligence,” Seonghwa explained, “Like really, why are you hanging around Lila so much? Don’t you feel an ounce of remorse?”

“I-” 

This was the first time since a week and a half that the two oldest said anything to each other. But Hongjoong was cut off when he felt it - he felt you, and given Seonghwa’s wide eyes and surprised face, he knew he wasn’t imagining things. Both of them were snapped out of their dazes when Wooyoung screamed and there was loud banging and slamming of doors coming from upstairs.

The boys were confused and panicked. They felt you after so long but something wasn't right. It appeared to be like a call for help but they had no idea where you were. And Mingi was still gone too.

Chaos erupted. San paced back and forth, hands behind his back, a worried look plastered on his face. Seonghwa leaned against the window and stared outside angrily. He had a lot of thoughts swirling through his mind at the moment. Meanwhile, on the far end of the living room, Wooyoung and Yeosang sat on the floor with scattered books trying to figure out what was going on. Wooyoung chucking away anything that wasn’t helpful at Yunho’s direction, who alongside Jongho remained quiet but unsettled. Hongjoong sat in a chair with a blank expression.

And then there was Mingi, who stood outside the large mansion wondering if he could just go back to you.

Mingi wasn't sure how this was going to go. In all honesty, he didn't plan to tell them immediately when he got back. The way he considered this unravelling was more like: he might get some dinner first and then break the news over dessert or after dinner. It was a long journey after all. But now that the boys were aware, dinner might have to wait.

"Mingi." Hongjoong's father called from the front door.

He had just arrived to check on the boys and was astonished to see the tall wolf. He wasn’t expecting him to return so soon, but given Mingi’s expression, he knew something happened.

“Why are you standing outside like that?”

“Well…you see…” Mingi started.

Everyone's heads snapped to the front entrance of the mansion when the familiar aura walked in. In the foyer, Mingi stood with an uncomfortable look. He hated attention like this. Maybe he should’ve brought Chan for moral support.

Seonghwa rushed to his side, getting straight to the point.

"Mingi, you felt it too didn't you?" 

Mingi only nodded.

"And!? Where were you!?" Wooyoung chastised. 

"Calm down Wooyoung." Yunho tried to pacify the second youngest.

"Tell that to San. He'll make a ditch on the floor just now."

San stopped pacing and glared at the younger alpha before turning to Mingi.

"Seriously though Mingi, where were you? You left for a week and a half and then suddenly we felt a pull from Y/N?"

Where should I begin? Mingi wondered. He glanced briefly at Hongjoong who eyed Mingi carefully. Deep down Mingi had a feeling that Hongjoong may have already put the pieces together.

"I felt it too…” he began, “And she's okay."

All the other six pairs of eyes snapped in shock and astonishment at Mingi’s bombshell. 

"She's...okay? Mingi did you—" Yeosang started.

"I found her, I've been with her for the past week and a half. She got cornered earlier by some rogues but she's safe now."

Suddenly, time felt like it froze for all of them. Like the slow movement from a sand glass, as the grains of sand leisurely and steadily move down, everything began to stir in slow motion as they processed what Mingi just said.

"You—you found her?" Jongho spluttered.

Mingi only nodded again.

"And? You didn't bother to tell us," Hongjoong vocalised, "What, were you only going to keep her for yourself?"

"Hongjoong." His father warned.

"No, it's a valid question Father. You said you needed time by yourself Mingi, but now suddenly, you’re telling us that you were with Y/N and you didn't notify us. This is how we find out."

"She was always sneaky." Hongjoong's mother condemned.

"NO!" Mingi warned loudly, "Mrs Kim, I have respect for you as you are an elder but please do not even think about slandering Y/N, she's been through enough especially from you."

Mrs Kim scoffed rudely, “How dare you speak to me like that!”

“He’s right,” Mr Kim announced, “There is no need for your input if you don’t have anything helpful to add.”

“You-”

Hongjoong ignored his mother and continued to interrogate Mingi.

"And what about us Mingi? We haven't been through enough? Seonghwa hasn't been sleeping, San and Jongho didn’t leave their rooms, none of us have been able to function. And Y/N didn't even try to communicate with us!"

"And why should she? Mingi asserted, “We never even listened to her when she was here, we weren't there for her, we wrote her and her feelings off every time. Really Hongjoong, are you just trying to run away from the fact that we failed her? Do you not want to take accountability? Is that why you’re running around with Lila?"

Hongjoong bolted upright to tackle Mingi by his shirt’s collar but he was held back by Seonghwa.

“What is it with you all and accusing Lila and I? What, I can’t have a friend to talk to?”

Mingi glowered at the pack’s leader. He had a feeling deep in his gut but he was hoping that it was wrong. 

“We did," Yunho answered, “We did hurt her, and we weren’t there for her. I don’t blame her either.”

"Exactly and comments from Mrs Kim are not helping either,” Seonghwa responded, “She kept pushing Lila time and time again and we saw Lila more than we saw our actual soulmate. And we allowed it, we didn't stop to think that we should make an effort, we just expected Y/N to be there." 

“You too Seonghwa?” Can’t you see that girl-” Mrs Kim began.

"He's right and that’s enough from you," Hongjoong's father commented, "Where is she now Mingi?"

"The human realm."

"What!?" All seven voices boomed through the room.

You were in the human realm? The forbidden realm?

"She's in the human realm and she's running a very successful café,” Mingi explained, “she's got a degree and I'm going back to her."

"Wait a minute, Mingi..." San started.

"I hope you will also decide to come. We all need to apologise. A friend of hers, Chan, he's a wizard and he helped me get here and is waiting for me to come back."

They felt empty. They pushed you away to the point where you built a whole new life without them in another realm. Besides Hongjoong though, the others didn’t blame you - they couldn’t blame you, they were the ones who alienated you from them. All they hoped right now was that you would at least consider forgiving them and give them a second chance.

 Mingi looked at them with his eyes downcasted as he turned to leave.

"We owe it to her."

Meanwhile, you were restless. Any attempt to try and ease your mind proved fruitless. You paced back and forth, fiddled with your fingers and huffed in annoyance at yourself. You decided that maybe a change of scenery would do you good, so you grabbed your jacket and scarf to head out for a bite to eat. Maybe some soup would help. As you made a beeline for your cafe to ensure the security alarm was active and everything was safe and secured, you felt it again.

The magnetic pull just like the night when Mingi arrived. Looking around, you turned to the large window that always provided a picturesque view of the busy streets of Seoul. 

But this time, on the other side of the window, there stood your eight mates.

Summary: Jax decides to pull a few pranks on Ragatha. She shows him something worth laughing about.

A/N: first TADC fic!!! :D! I might be sliiightllyy obsessed with asshole rabbit man.(I have a squish on him even though he’s a jerk). Also he needs to be wrecked I don’t make the rules.

I’ll give you something to laugh about!

Jax was whistling. Always a bad sign. He walked down the hall of rooms with his hands behind his back and his yellow smile wide as ever.

Eventually, he came upon the door he was looking for. ‘Aha, there she is.’ He looked upon the door with Ragatha’s face printed on the circle imbedded in the digital wood.

He pulled out his key to her room.(don’t ask how he got them.)

Then he sneaked his way in with a cartoonish slide and pushed the door closed in the same motion. Pulling a jar out of seemingly nowhere, he opened the lid, letting a large house centipede in her room. But he wasn’t done yet.

Then, the purple rabbit took a glass of water and placed it near the night stand, which he saw the centipede crawl under. ‘This’ll be fun.’ And a chuckle leaves his toothy smile.

Ragatha was just leaving the bathroom. Although none of them technically had to use it, they still liked to take time in there to wash their hands, shower and other stuff just to feel at least slightly normal in this crazy digital world. (Jax also liked to use it as prank-planning central but no one else knew that.)

She headed back to her room, where she came upon a whistling Jax.

“Oh, hey Jax! Where are you off to?”

“Oh, nowhereee, just going back to my room.”

Ragatha would’ve raised an eyebrow if she had them. “Why weren’t you already in your room?”

“Is a rabbit not allowed to take a walk through the hallways once in a while?”

Ragatha’s eyes narrowed in suspicion. “Sure.” She spoke sarcastically.

She kept walking, not noticing that Jax in fact did not enter his room, but stayed behind her with his mischievous grin, watching for her reactions. 

As soon as she entered her room, Jax heard a loud scream, followed by a crash and a splash.

Ragatha exited her room as soon as she entered it, dripping with water and she yelled angrily, “JAX!”

In the hallway, she saw the aforementioned rabbit doubled over in laughter, and wiping a non-existent tear from his eye.

“Heheh! Oohohoh, you should’ve heard you’re scream! I bet your face was even funnier. Heheh.” Jax made an innocent face for a moment. “How’d you like you’re present?”

He barely got the last word out before he burst into even louder laughter. “Oh ihihi cahahan NOHOHOT Sahay thahat with a strahahaight fahahace. Woo!”

“JAX! it isn’t funny!”

“And that is where you’re wrong doll face, ihit is veeeerrry funny heheh.”

“Weeell~” Ragatha suddenly had an idea for revenge.

“If you think that’s so funny, then you’re gonna love this!”

Before he knew it, Jax was on the floor, with a ragdoll overtop of him. He let out a small, confused “huh-?” That was quickly cut off by even more laughter as Ragatha started to scribble against his belly.

“Hehehehey! Whahahat doho yahahah thihihink yohohou’re dohohoin heheheh!”

“What seems to be the matter? You like laughing, don’t you?” Ragatha retorted, with a obvious veil of innocence.

“Ohoho shuhuhut ihit yohou [BLEEP]” a loud sound cut off Jax as he swore.

“This should teach you not to mess with me.”

“I mahahake noho prohohomihises- AHEHEH!”

“Then we’re gonna be here a while.”

And Indeed they were. Jax absolutely refused to promise not to mess with Ragatha again, but eventually she let up anyway. She stood up and encouraged Jax to do the same.

Jax stood, panting slightly and letting out leftover giggles.

“Just know, that if you ever mess with me again, I will give you something to laugh about.”

Now onto the word vomit :

Timeline-wise, the wolfwalkers au takes place in more recent times, at least up to the point of the latest episode of mgafs because those events are not canon to this au (im kinda cherry-picking what I want to be canon here or not as i go along, some things may change tho)

That being said lots of things stay the same but there are also lots of things that go differently both in past and present

The twins have already been separated for a long time and are still reluctant guards for FC, them being wolfwalkers making them all the better for the task; they were given radio collars by Monty to keep track of them even when they’re in wolf form

As for Ruin and Solar and all that happened there…Solar still dies in this au because of Ruin’s plans though there are some key differences, and let’s just say that more than Solar’s energy residue stayed behind :) (*cough*if you ever watched wolfwalkers you might know what I’m getting at*cough*)

The origins of the celestial fam being wolfwalkers is kinda the same as with how things work in the Death’s Keepers au w/ the reapers: it all started with KC and the “killcode” being the code that the creator basically implanted magic into and thus the fam have these abilities due to the creator embedding it in all their codes (even Earth)

This code and them being wolfwalkers also affects their animatronic appearances and behavior (claws, sharp canine-like teeth, prey drive—some having it stronger than others, enhanced sense of smell, wolf hierarchy and pack behavior—and no not a/b/o stuff, I mean like accurate wolf hierarchy and pack behavior, which if y’all don’t know what I mean by that I will gladly rant about it if asked)

They shift using magic and their magic is strongest at night, though they can shift whenever they want to

It’s weird to a lot of them shifting from something that is mostly mechanical to being wholly organic though most of them have gotten used to it by now (a lot of the other animatronics think it’s weird but also kinda cool, Monty makes a lot of furry jokes and Moon hates it lol)

They all had to learn at one point or another that yes, you are no longer fully a machine and can be hurt or even killed as easily as any other person or animal (*cough* Eclipse learned this the hard way *COUGH*)

Going back to them more accurately representing wolf behaviors and such, I’m a nerd for anything to do with wolves and wolf genetics are one of the things I love the most (as many probably already know from my rants-)

That being said, all of them when in wolf form have their own things assigned to them, like how a few posts ago I talked about how Eclipse has the KK gene (basically black coat gene but the rare one because wolves with this gene rarely survive to adulthood for reasons that to my understanding are still mostly unknown—this is because the wolf I made based off him in WQ had it and I liked the idea of it)

Lots of the stuff that happened earlier in the tsams canon timeline happen in the timeline of the au, like Eclipse being created from Moon and Sun separating and then creating the twins and Lunar, the October takeover, etc etc

I’ve drawn them—BM twins, Lunar, Eclipse—as puppies before and mentioned Eclipse being a sickly pup due to his genes at some point and that still holds true though I’ve made alterations to my og plan for the story

Originally things were gonna diverge heavily from canon in the timeline and take more inspo from the Death’s Keepers au though wasn’t really vibing with it so I scrapped that idea

Instead things will still go relatively the same as in canon, as I stated before, and while yes Eclipse and Lunar and the BM twins were all technically “pups” at one point, it was when they were in the mindscape and they grow fast being magical and mechanical beings (so their aging is like wolves in that sense; only taking two years or so to fully mature into adults)

The others were all puppies at some point too (Sun, Moon, Earth, etc) but like I said they mature and grow fast in both wolf and mechanical form since I’m basing their aging off a wolf’s

As for Eclipse being a sickly pup, not only his genes in wolf form but his coding plays a role in that, being buggy and unstable for the first year of his life due to being a new ai created from a jumble of somebody else’s discarded code

Despite them not being around as long as some of the others, the BM twins (nicknamed Hunter and Bam in this au) are the most experienced and skilled in their wolf forms, especially when it comes to hunting

This need to hunt and prey drive while in wolf form has given the others more of an open eye to the twins’s pov and how their minds work, which has helped them in the long run as Foxy and others have more sympathy and understanding of their situation (Foxy may not be a wolfwalker like the celestial fam tho he’s been told of it by Monty and seen firsthand the others as wolves and how they behave/work)

Injuries gained in wolf form can be easily healed if done properly as their magic aids in the healing process and their injuries usually do not carry over to their mechanical form though that’s not always the case (it really depends on the injury and the severity of it)

For example, Eclipse later in the timeline has a permanent limp from an injury not healing correctly both in wolf and mechanical form due to the time when he fucked around and found out the hard way :)

today is a special day for you, it's the day you have been anticipating the most. you couldn't sleep the whole night because of the excitement for this day to come, your birthday. you weren't excited because it was your birthday, you were excited of what your boyfriend is planning for your day. however, when a day has passed and it's finally the day, you didn't expect your boyfriend to forget it.

you woke up at 6am, you were looking like a zombie who hasn't eaten a brain for days (you just didn't get enough sleep). anyway, happiness took over your body as you see a notification from your mother greeting you.

you were happily prancing around the room but quietly because you didn't want to wake up your boyfriend who is sleeping. you got more excited remembering what you were thinking last night. you kept asking yourself "what is heeseung planning?" "where are we gonna go this time?". you went to shower and then went to the kitchen to cook some breakfast for the both of you. while you were cooking, you didn't notice that heeseung has woken up. he sneakily went to give you a back hug "good morning, love". you squealed when he hugged you, you were smiling widely remembering your thoughts about today.

"oh fuck, it's already 7am" he said.

"why? are you going somewhere??" you asked, still smiling thinking of what he might be planning.

"yeah, i actually gotta go. i have to go to practice for our new comeback."

"oh."

your smile suddenly faded. you felt hurt, you were so excited which now ends up disappointed. you finished cooking and ate then went to the bedroom ignoring him when he say his goodbyes. heeseung was confused on why you suddenly ignored him.

----- time skip -----

it's already night time and you were just watching movies the whole day. you didn't use your phone at all because you were feeling down of what just happened. heeseung forgot your birthday is all what you can think about. time passed and you didn't even realized but when you did you got more sad. you basically didn't celebrate your birthday. anyway, your phone has been buzzing since earlier. you knew it was probably heeseung updating you what's happening to his practice but you didn't care. you just wanted to ignore him right now and just watch movies. meanwhile, heeseung was worried. he's been checking his messages non-stop, waiting for your reply but no. he remembered earlier when you suddenly ignored him. he was walking back and forth in the practice room worried, thinking if he said something that made you upset.

"hey bro! the choreographer said we can go home now, shouldn't you go home and surprise y/n or something" jake was sitting down drinking water, confused on why heeseung kept walking back and forth.

"i can't go home yet, im still thinking of what i said earlier. im trying to remember because i think i might've upset her"

"bro, just go and surprise her, do your thing, and you wouldn't even need to worry about what made her upset anymore. i mean it's her birthday after all so" he laughed.

that's it. he was shook at himself for not remembering your birthday. he didn't even hesitated and ran to a nearest cake shop and bought one for you. he immediately went home after, and he saw you lying down the couch watching a movie. he was about to go up on you but he saw you sleeping. he put some candles on the cake and lit it up.

"love, wake up. happy birthday" as he hugged you and wakes you up with kisses. you woke up and was surprised to see him, you were about to ignore him again but then he sang happy birthday to you. you were teary and glad he remembered your birthday, not only that you get to hear his vocals. you thought how lucky you were that you get to hear him sing for free.

"love, im sorry i forgot your birthday. i was so busy thinking about my comeback so i didn't get to buy you gifts BUT tomorrow we could go out if you like and-"

you shushed him with a kiss and said "i forgive you" you giggled and continued giving him peck of kisses.

"i love you."

"i love you too."

you were lying down beside jay thinking of what to do on your birthday which is tomorrow. you wanted to go to a theme park with your boyfriend, you wanted to ask him if the both of you should go and buy tickets but you remembered that you wanted to wait for his plans for your birthday. you didn't want to admit it but it always makes you flustered when he cares and plans things for you, for some reason.

you woke up early in the morning and your boyfriend jay, who is not in the bed anymore seems to be cooking something in the kitchen. "does he plans to cook a lot for my birthday?" you thought. you finally got up and went to the kitchen but didn't see him there, you were confused but you saw him sitting on the couch watching a cooking show. you laughed at yourself for thinking it was him who is cooking.

"are you not gonna cook breakfast? or should i?" you asked.

"i'll cook, i got inspired to cook a new menu for today" he smirked. seeing him smirk made you think that whatever that new menu is, he's going to be cooking for your birthday. you love his cooking so much, it's like tasting heaven. before he even touched the chopping board, his phone started buzzing. "oh shit, something came up in the office. i gotta go." he said. you were worried on what could possibly happen so you asked him if you should go with him and he said that there's no need, and left.

you were sitting in the kitchen alone, wondering if this is a part of his plan or this is actually happening. he just left you alone in the house, but you didn't want to be negative so you took a shower and watched a movie.

he still isn't home, he didn't bother to call you as well. you went through your phone and saw that tickets to the theme park are now sold out. you were wondering what is taking him so long and hoping it's not that serious. anyway, you were already bored so you decided to go for a walk outside. you checked your messages to see if jay sent something but there was nothing, it was just silent. you were so worried so you decided to visit him in the office. everyone seems to know you are jay's girl, you got shy when you hear them. you saw jay sitting in his office with a cup of coffee on his hand laughing with his co-workers. a sudden thought suddenly flashed to your mind, he forgot your birthday. to think you were worried of him because he was taking long to come back home, it made your stomach turn. jay noticed you standing in front of his office and approached you "babe, what are you doing here?" smiling. he was about to kiss you but you dodged it and started to walk away. jay was frozen, "d-did she just dodge my kiss?" he got sad when you did that, especially that you didn't even say a word to him which made him more sad but he got worried if something happened. he followed you downstairs but you immediately went to your car and drove back home. he wasn't able to process you dodging his kiss but now this, he was confused and thinking if something bad has happened to you.

"hyung, heeseung and i plan to go to the karaoke, do you want to tag along?" ni-ki, his coworker, sipping his coffee.

"i don't think i can go, i have a problem to deal with" jay sat.

"ni-ki are you dumb, why would you invite him? you know it's y/n's birthday, don't bother his lovey dovey moment." heeseung laughed.

it hit him. YOUR BIRTHDAY. he didn't even say any words to his co-workers and immediately went to his car. he didn't know what to but he just drove around town and bought as much as he could for his gift to you. he started calling you but you ignored him. he was so worried that he might've made you cry and didn't want that so he immediately went home, searching for you in every room but you weren't home. where were you? well, let's go back to where you left jay's company. you did come home, however a person like you can't really stay home when you are feeling like this, you would always walk around the park. so, you did. you were walking around the park, head-empty and just wanted to stay there forever. you hear your phone buzzing and saw it was jay. of course, you ignore him like earlier. you didn't want to hear him talk since you thought it'll just made you feel more down. jay, on the other side, who can't find you anywhere got more worried. he didn't know what to do so he insisted to ask help from your mom.

minutes later, your phone buzzed again. you thought it was jay again but you saw it was your mom.

you didn't expect your mom to buy tickets there. you were a bit happy to know she's coming, it will at least make your day better. you were sitting on a bench, waiting for you mom, unknowingly who is behind you. it was jay, holding a bouquet and a box. you were surprised to see him, you were about to walk away again but he suddenly held your wrist. "y/n, love, my beautiful girlfriend. please don't go. im sorry i forgot your birthday." he hugged you. you were glad that he finally remembered, you didn't want to say anything at that moment and just wanted to hug him. he suddenly made you sit on the bench and opened the box, it's a necklace (an expensive one too). you were mesmerized of the necklace, you looked at him. he puts on the necklace to you, he was looking at you and thought you were the most beautiful girl ever.

"you didn't have to buy this"

"i just bought it, im sorry if it's not much"

"you remembering my birthday is already enough, silly." you giggled and kissed him.

"oh, by the way. your mom helped me find you."

"oh." you sneered at him, thinking he couldn't have done it himself but you find it funny otherwise.

"i love you." he said.

"yeah, let's go home."

"wait what, say it back" he pleaded.

"i love you too."

the both of you were eating breakfast and you already planned one thing to do for your birthday, you are still expecting your boyfriend to do something for your birthday though.

"should i go to my hometown? i think it'll be nice to visit there plus my mom expects me to go and celebrate there instead."

"sure, what's the occasion?" he cluelessly asked. you couldn't believe your ears on what he just said, did he actually ask that. you stared at him for a whole minute and raised your eyebrow at him. you didn't want to think negatively so you decided to ask him.

"what day is today?" you asked, staring at him.

"uhh, sunday." he looked on his phone.

that's when you knew, he forgot. you couldn't eat and was shocked at your boyfriend for forgetting it. he isn't really the type to forget birthdays and ESPECIALLY yours or so you thought. you still couldn't believe what just happened and you decided to think that maybe this is a part of his plan, pranking you or something. however, you got sure that he indeed forgot on what happened next after.

"i gotta go shower, love. but before that, you haven't answered my question yet. what's the occasion? is it your mom's birthday? we could buy some gifts at ****."

you were flabbergasted after hearing his words. you finished your food and quickly washed the dishes, you still didn't give him an answer and just ignored him right away. he looked at you confused, he kept asking and you're not replying. he thought that you were probably too tired to reply so he didn't care much about it and just went to shower. while you are sitting on the bed, zoning out because of what just happened. you were sure that he forgot your birthday, you felt down. you still wanted to go to your hometown though but since he forgot your birthday, you thought that your parents will find out and get angry at him. they don't really like jake much, especially your father. your mom doesn't say much about him but you can see that she doesn't like him as well. anyway, the point is you're not going to your hometown so you messaged your mom about it and instead you'll have a reunion with your former co-workers and celebrate it with them. you don't know what to do with jake but you were disappointed and a bit annoyed with him for always remembering others' bday while he doesn't even bother to remember yours.

it's already night time and it's time for your dinner with your co-workers. you checked jake, he's already dressed. you didn't even say a word to him and just picked the keys and went out to the car. you sat on the passenger's seat because you knew jake would want to drive and he will keep bothering you if you drive, you didn't want to talk to him so you just immediately sat on the passenger's seat but while waiting for him you moved to the back seat for the reason that you didn't want to face and talk to him, you were still kind of angry and sad.

jake finally went in the car and see you in the back seat, he was so confused. you know, he's the type that wants you beside him all the time and seeing you in the back seat made him so bothered. he tried asking and talking to you but there was no answer, you were just staring at the window the whole time. he was getting sad, he still doesn't have a clue on why you're suddenly acting like this.

you two finally arrived at the restaurant and met your co-workers. you were happy to see them for such a long time and you talked with them for hours while jake was sitting beside you, he was getting teary eyed because you kept ignoring him. ni-ki and jungwon started to talk with jake. jake was pouting the whole time and looking like a puppy who just lost his owner.

"y/n sis, mom messaged me and said that you cancelled on going home. you didn't have to cancel it to go and have a reunion here." chaeyoung said.

"oh, mom and the others can wait. it's nice seeing all of you here though."

chaeyoung and ryujin looked at each other after hearing your low and sad tone saying that sentence. they realized that jake and you haven't even said a single word to each other since earlier.

"did the two of you fight?" ryujin asked loudly.

everyone looked at ryujin and gave her a confused look then they looked at the both you and jake. you didn't even look at jake and just laughed. "ryu, what do you mean. we're fine." you gave her a fake smile, which actually creeped sunoo and the others. sunoo whispered to chaeyoung "they're definitely not fine."

"i gotta go to the bathroom, don't eat dessert without me." you said.

once you went to the bathroom, they all looked at jake and asked "seriously, are the two of you really fine?" jake didn't know what to answer because he doesn't know either. he was feeling so many emotions all at once, he didn't answer them and just shrugged.

"you both doesn't seem fine, you should go and talk to her." chaeyoung exclaimed.

jake decided to do that and talk to you, he wants to know as well on why have you been ignoring him since earlier. he looks like he was about to cry while walking to the restroom waiting for you to come out. his phone buzzed.

"HOLY SHIT. FUCK. FUCK. FUCK." he panicked when he saw his notification. he felt ashamed for not remembering your birthday. he ran back to everyone, at the table. "guys, can you do me a favor?"

back to you, at the bathroom. you were sitting at the toilet, zoning out and tears were forming. it wasn't much tears but you were crying already. you didn't know what to do with your boyfriend, negative thoughts were swarming in your head. you thought you were taking too long in the restroom so you washed your hands and went back to the table. to your surprise, no one was in the restaurant anymore. the lights also went off, you got scared because everyone left you and you thought you got locked in.

you went to the main door and you saw a light forming from a distance away, your phone was about to die so you didn't bother turning on the flashlight this time. you were literally touching everywhere lol. anyway, a small light suddenly is closing up to you. you were so scared, you thought it was a ghost or something. then, suddenly all the lights opened and "SURPRISEEEEEEE!!" you almost had a heart attack. jake was in front of you holding a cake with lit candles "happy birthday, my pretty girl." everyone started singing and you couldn't help but cry. your boyfriend finally remembered. he kissed you and asked "so, what's your wish?".

"uh, for my boyfriend not to forget my birthday again." you shrugged.

he laughed "i love my girlfriend so much." and kissed you. "i love you too."

your boyfriend is a skater and you work part-time as a barista but today it's your day off which is good because you know... it's your birthday. sunghoon though, is busy preparing for his ice skating competition. you wondered how the two of you will celebrate your birthday when he's this busy but you know sunghoon, he always have a plan when it comes to your birthday.

you woke up early in the morning and you see your boyfriend has already left. he ordered you breakfast before leaving and he also left a note. "sorry, i couldn't join you for breakfast. hope you enjoy what i ordered." you thought it was sweet of him to do so. however, you were feeling lonely for the past months. he has been busy than ever preparing for his competition. you both barely talk these past months, which made u feel lonely. with him busy, you weren't really expecting for the both of you to celebrate your day. despite him being busy, you waited for his message to greet you a happy birthday but nothing happened. you jokingly said "he's way too busy that he probably forgot about it." and laughed.

hours later, you finally saw sunghoon text you.

did he literally just forgot your birthday? your jaw dropped when he asked you that. you weren't even sad at all. well, you understood how busy he has been but there was just no way he just forgot about your bday.

your boyfriend got home. you were playing some games on your phone and he tried to hug you but you rolled over the couch. he laughed and thought you just fell, he decided to hug you again but you walked away.

"what?" he raised his eyebrow at you. he decided to hug you again but this time you ran and went straight to the bedroom. he was so flabbergasted when you did that. he was like "what the fuck?". you on the other hand was mad at him. he still didn't greet you so you felt that way. anyway, with what just happened. he sat down on the couch and zoned out.....

you were so bored, you decided to go out and go to a cinema. you don't really care if sunghoon is going to come with you or not but either way you're going. sunghoon saw you all dressed up and asked you "oh hey love, where are you going?". you straight up ignored him and closed the door loudly. he was so fucking confused, and was kind of annoyed with you. without hesitation, when you left he immediately worn some proper t-shirt and his shoes. he ran so fast to catch up on you. thank god, you haven't started the car yet. you were petting some cat that you saw. you noticed your boyfriend followed you so you went to the car, he then went in too.

"im driving."

you started driving without saying a word to him.

"oh, okay. you drive, i guess."

when you arrived at the cinema, you quickly lined up to get some tickets. sunghoon was surprised that you wanted to go to the cinema but just went along with it, he bought food for the both you to eat. of course, you weren't that awful so you also bought him ticket and gave it to him, still without saying a thing. hoon just basically followed you inside.

you enjoyed the movie, sunghoon kinda did as well but he misses you. like talking to you. he tried talking to you as well in the cinema but of course you still didn't reply. you badly wanted sunghoon to remember the occasion to himself so you stayed strong and kept ignoring him lol.

you drove around the town and went in some shops to buy things or foods. still not talking to sunghoon. your boyfriend got tired and when it was just the two of you alone, he had enough and said loudly "y/n, what the fuck do you want? why are you not talking to me? why do you kept ignoring me? im getting tired already. i tried talking to you a couple of times today but what the fuck. baby, if i did something wrong, please tell me. you know me, i care about u so much but fucking please tell me what's happening?" you didn't even looked at him as you went inside the car, ignoring him again.

"y/n, you know what. im done. if you're not gonna talk to me for the whole day, okay fine. im gonna go home but just know this, im fucking worried about you but you wont even let me talk to you." he left and went to get a taxi.

you sat alone in the car, crying. you were hoping for him to remember such a special day and greet you, that's what you only wanted. you weren't mad at him anymore instead you were sad, crying. you thought that there's a possibility that he doesn't care for you anymore. you though that maybe you have gone too far for not talking to him. you weren't in the mood to do anything, anymore but you didn't want to go home since sunghoon went home. you didn't want to face him yet after what just happened. you thought that you'll just let the day pass and talk to him tomorrow so you went to the nearest hotel to stay.

as for sunghoon, he was waiting for you to come home. he thought that he let his emotions control him that he shouted at you earlier. he was worriedly thinking on where have you gone off to. he was worried that he made you cry because of earlier.

it was already night time and hoon still doesn't have a clue on why you ignored him the whole day. a realization hit him on what day it is today. he checked the calendar and everything. it's your birthday. okay, you maybe wondering on how did he realized. he remembered the cinema that the both of you went to, it was titled "BD". he remembered what happened on the movie, a birthday basically. he cried a little because of the fact he shouted at you earlier when he was the one who's at fault for not remembering his dearest girlfriend's bday.

he didn't bother to buy you gifts or what but he went looking for you everywhere. he remembered you guys are both in 'life 360' and he saw where you are. he immediately went to the hotel and asked the staff on what room you're staying in. he knocked.

"love, it's me."

you were just lying down the bed and when you heard his voice, it sent a chill down your spine. you were surprised and confused on why he's there. you opened the door and he suddenly hugged you tightly.

"love, im really really really really sorry for forgetting your birthday. im also sorry for lashing out on you earlier. im so sorry love. i was so busy preparing for the competition that i completely forgot about your bday. im really sorry, y/n." he cried.

you wiped his tears and said "im sorry too, i shouldn't have ignored you the whole day and i should've just told you what's going on. hoonie im sorry."

"i love it when you call me that." he smirked and laughed.

"hoon." you stared at him for suddenly joking around.

"okay, i know i know. sorry. let's go inside first. wouldn't want people seeing us being dramatic. im sorry i didnt bring any gifts with me."

"honestly, i don't care if whether you have gifts or not. as long as you remember my silly birthday. i know, i don't say these often but im lucky to have a boyfriend like you."

"y/n, im more luckier having a dramatic girlfriend like you." he laughed.

"i love you so much that the whole universe can't even compete."

Snow Days and Broken Zippers

Heya @lovelynim !! Surprise! I'm your secret santa for this year! I'm so sorry this took so long to finish, but I had a really great time writing for these two and it was a great opportunity to work on something for one of the more obscure fandoms I don't often get to write for! I hope you like it!!^^

Summary: Noe, after spending a gleeful morning playing out in the snow, accidentally ends up damaging the wintercoat he'd borrowed from a certain vampire doctor. Shenanigans ensue, and perhaps some people turn out to be just a little more childish than they'd like to admit.

Snap!

That was the sound of Noe's doom, his eyes widening slightly in surprise as the zipper he'd just been tugging on had popped right off the winter coat he was borrowing.... Vanitas' wintercoat, to be exact..

He hadn't meant to break it, really. He'd just gotten a little ahead of himself to get it off after playing out in the snow all day 'like a child', as Vanitas had put it earlier that morning, when he'd tried to pry the buzzkill of a human out of bed to go play with him.

This was fine though. Totally fine! Maybe he could fix it before Vanitas-

"Mm.. Noe? I see you're finally done prancing around in the snow... I can't believe you tried waking me up to- Eh?! The heck Noe?! Is that my coat you just broke?!"

And.. he was already here. Great...

"Vanitas! I, uh-" Noe stammered, smiling nervously as the irritated human approached to inspect the damage that had been done, snatching the broken zipper from him with a small pout, and Noe might have even laughed if not for the guilt he was feeling right now.

Before he could even begin to apologize though, a sudden tingling sensation on his sides caught him by surprised, causing him to stifle a small unexpected laugh as the irritated human suddenly began tickling him, expression a mixture of both annoyance and mischief as he squeezed the poor vampire's sides mercilessly.

"V-Vahahanitas?! W-Wait, what are you-"

Noe stammered, letting out a small squawk of protest as he was suddenly backed into the door behind him, leaving him no room to try and escape his current predicament as he plead with his friend, to no avail.

"Punishing you, of course. Isn't it obvious?" The blue eyed man answered, snickering evilly as he finally pinned the guilty looking vampire in place, pinching and prodding at the his sides while he started to crumble to the floor. "Shouldn't have broken my good winter coat Noe~." He cooed as he followed him down, causing his poor victim to squeak throygh helpless giggles.

"I- hehehehe! I dihihidn't- I didn't mehehean too!!"

Noe squealed out as he desperately tried to curl himself into a ball, twisting and turning in a useless attempt to free himself from the unfortunate situation he'd found himself in, with very little success. And after a few more minutes, it was beginning to look like he could end up stuck in this situation for a good long while, atleast until Vanitas decided to show some mercy... Which unfortunately, didn't seem likely anytime soon..

That is, unless he decided to play a little dirty too...

Now, would that be fair, considering the situation? Not really... But would it be funny? Absolutely.

Deciding to go through with his plan, Noe allowed himself to sink just a little further to the floor as he laughed more openly, pretending to give into the silly punishment, and once he'd lured the human into a false sense of security of having him properly subdued, he took action, subtly reaching up one arm to grab the doorknob, twisting it until the door suddenly swung open, a wave of freezing cold December air bursting into the house in an instant as they both tumbled backwards a bit.

Noe, still being safely wrapped in warm winter clothing, was totally fine, while Vanitas on the other hand, still dressed in nothing more than a set of thin pajamas, let out an embarrassingly high pitched squeal in response to the cold, before clumsily scrambling to his feet and retreating further into the house, shouting promises of merciless revenge and karma to come later, and despite the threats, Noe couldn't help but laugh.

Despite what Vanitas might say, perhaps that human was actually the more childish of the two of them afterall...

i always love to see the villains scheming, but this may actually make more sense for Riya than her current real plan. Alec has been proving time and time again that he's good at, like... everything. everyone should be really worried about him winning if he makes it to the end. i don't know if Riya could beat Ally either (because i don't know what the challenge will be), but she should be thinking about taking Alec out before the endgame. although, she does have to worry about taking him out in a way that won't leave a grudge, given that Alec has proven that he won't root for a former ally just to be petty.

KING BEHAVIOR!! god, i wish the DC winner was determined by jury vote. Alec has absolutely played the game most deserving of winning thus far. then again, if there was a jury vote at the end, people probably would have started gunning to take him out already. so, maybe i should be grateful.

i'm glad that these two have made up, both because Gabby needs and deserves more friends than just Ellie in her life, and because it shows how Gabby has grown as a person. instead of just wanting to get revenge on those who have personally wronged her, she wants to use her passionate heart to target those who are making others' lives miserable.

Things between Tobias & Frank are v funny and complicated bc. well. They've known each other since they were like, well, 7? Figure skating rivals lmao 😭 They both loved to annoy the fuck out of each other but also tended to talk about many different things since both of them had parents that were Really Invested in their futures, meaning they tended to make them concentrate on the sport (+ school in Toby's case, Claudia (its mom) had planned out a med school backup plan for it in case something went wrong) and thus meaning that they had very little time and actually any peers to talk to.

Toby had hated figure skating ever since it started being into it and like, complained a lot about it to Frank. So Frank got an idea on how to end its career. They were skating as a pair during this one contest when they were 15, and at some point Frank kinda dropped (everyone thinks it's an accident) Toby down, thinking it would get like some kind of light injury or something that would heal fast and instead Tobias got its knee fractured. Chronic knee pain has entered the chat or whatever.

Toby was already on its second year of university at that point so it just switched to full time studying, though keeping some kind of contact with Frank. Frank instead got better and better at skating and ended up competing in serious international contests and stuff like that. I think the moment they actually stopped talking to each other was when Tobias left its family at 17 and moved to the other side of the country to work in a corporate lab (it got this fun idea and presented it on thesis fair -> some corporate headhunter spotted it and offered it a spot in their corporate x elite university accelerated phd program. Toby's mom didn't agree bc she wanted it to go straight to med school and they ended up arguing and Tobias just left (tm) and accepted offer).

ANYWAY! Fast forward several years later (they're both 22). Aleena (Toby's university friend) invited Tobias to cofound a skincare start up based on their cosmetic chemistry class project and Tobias agrees, thinking it's a great way to put everything that happened in the corpo lab behind (including but not only limited to Toby's fiance killed by either said corporates or the guy who asked them to give the project data to him for a 'media coverage'). Now you may be thinking how does Frank fit in? WELL.

At the same time, Frank is a famous figure skater and is (funnily enough) also making a breakthrough in acting. A famous young face might as well be the thing they needed for ads. So, Tobias ends up contacting him and asking if he'd like to be their celebrity ambassador or whatever. Frank agreed.

Said situation means that Frank also shows up in the office every now and then to talk "business", especially since he lives in the same city at this point (they're in Florida). One time he shows up and notices Toby being all stressed and stuff like that. Which is honestly the least of Toby's problems at that point (it was in a bad spot. really, really bad spot. it also doesn't remember like 80% of whatever was happening during all this start up thing). Frank asks if he could help in any way and in the end they end up, well, doing not safe for work things in Toby's office.

And so their weird situationship began. No they're not dating yes they are having sex every now and then (very often actually), Toby called it "associates with benefits later". Obviously they had to try hard not to show any signs of it in public bc neither of them wanted ppl to know that they're seeing each other like that.

Did it help with Toby's stress? Well. It did feel maybe a bit better at the beginning but started feeling even worse day by day, and adding up everything else (like substance use, declining feel of self worth and work stress) it really made things to its brain. They also bickered and argued, like, A Lot, which is honestly what they've been doing all the time they've known each other, but this was now affecting Toby's wellbeing very negatively. Frank was also quite secretive about his private life, maybe a bit too much for Toby's liking, which made it feel like he's hiding something.

And, well, turned out Toby's suspicions were correct. One morning, waking up in Frank's bed, it heard some kind of conversation from the living room. Apparently, this whole time, Frank had a boyfriend who knew nothing about their weird relationship and whom Tobias never knew about bc Frank didn't tell it anything. haha. It waited until said boyfriend left and walked out of the bedroom with this weird empty face and went "Oh so when were you going to tell me you have another person? Man I can't believe you used to me to cheat on someone" or something like that and just, well, left the apartment. Something clicked in its brain and made it feel so awful that it just, well, considered going home and eating a whole bottle of pills. Only thing that stopped it was coming home and realizing it doesn't have any left. It went to sit outside on the stairs of its terrace, to cry a little and wonder if it was worth it to go to the pharmacy. Some stray cat appeared from the bushes and went to cuddle next to it, making it feel much better and forget the idea it had, instead coming up with a new one. So it went back inside, packed its important things into two suitcases and a backpack, quickly sold its shares for super cheap to Aleena and just left, moving again to the other side of the country and wanting to forget the whole thing. To start a new page or something like that.

Frank and Tobias barely had any contact after that, not counting one moment when Toby was doing its chemistry master's degree and Frank showed up in the city. The whole thing ended with Klara punching Frank in his face. ANYWAY. They meet again when they are in early 40's bc guess who Toby's boss's boyfriend is? Frank. They had a brief conversation and then probably never talked to each other ever again haha.

I have been trying to get one of my friends into Peterick, but I don't even know where to start. I considered a PP presentation but I feel like even that wouldn't be enough... Your ask the other day resonated deeply with me because how could I possibly choose?! 😩 Do you think the hiatus might be too much for a first introduction?

Well anon, is your friend capable of sight and/or hearing? If so, just like….send them anything about those two and wait. Like a horse to water or whatever. Soon you’ll get the “are they like….ya know….” texts.

Honestly though? There are…so many ways you could go with this….and I have so many clarifying questions so please don’t be shy just message me and we can talk and flail about it!!!

If you’re like “absolutely NOT I do NOT want to be perceived” then um….here’s some thoughts…

What does “get into peterick” mean? Cuz if it’s just like, reading fic (which is fine!), then I’d just…send them some fic you like and then provide some lore explanations that go with it…?

If it’s like…you want them to fully grasp and be obsessed with the absolutely batshit insane thing they’ve had going on for 20+ years…

Does your friend…like FOB? Are they already a fan? If so, cool. If not, I’d prob start with getting them into the music first since it’s like. The literal heart and soul of anything p2.

What typically gets them into something? Do they like web weaves? Lyrical analysis? Interviews? Do they have a favorite FOB era you could focus in on? You know what gets your friend amped so maybe approach from that angle.

If there’s no real “angle” you can think of, I’d actually…work backwards. There’s just so much from this era alone to start with (riffs, Zane Lowe, other interviews, every single fuckin photo of them making lovey eyes at each other, etc). It’s also more fun to connect stuff from now back to pre-h than to keep having to jump ahead, too.

Pick the stuff that makes you insane, send it, and let them mull. Again, horse to water.

Starting with hiatus would be…a choice…and prob wouldn’t have the same amount of impact since you gotta at least know about the stuff surrounding the hiatus for it to hit as hard. (Also damn anon do you want to make your friend DEPRESSED?)

Ship Headcanons - Ada/Leon

Gives forehead/nose kisses: So I have a very specific answer for all of these. Forehead is def Leon giving them. He's much more affectionate than Ada but in private settings they're more half and half. In terms of forehead kisses specifically, I hc that he kisses her temple more, sometimes along her hair line and her cheek. Ada's the one that gives noses kisses, and other things for his nose too heh heh she also likes how adorable he looks when she boops his nose

Gets jealous the most: Leon, but it's not serious. Rarely does he actually take the time to get mad at her about something about her past or even in a present day setting. Ada doesn't get jealous as much as she gets insecure that she can't provide Leon what he wants or needs.

Picks the other up from the bar when they’re too drunk to drive: Leon's the drunk ass. Ada's picking him up. Ada is NOT getting drunk in a public space. here's ada dragging leon from a bar lol

Takes care of on sick days: Leon would take care of Ada much more despite her protests. BUT he would also know if she really wants to be left alone. Feel like Ada is the type to let it fester because she's not willing to seek help. me crying over when i wrote leon taking care of ada. Ada would do the minimum in terms of, checking in for a fever, MAYBE staying with him if he gets worse. But would most likely give him meds, water and leave him to sleep. If he's already sleeping she might watch over him quietly. But she's not gonna wait around all day.

Drags the other person out into the water on beach day: This depends. If perhaps Leon's in a bad mood, Ada would wanna drag him out into the water. Leon would probably entice Ada in other ways to join him in the water. here i have them at da the beach hehe

Gives unprompted massages: Ada. She's a bit more touchy feely in that way - than him. He MIGHT but he wouldn't be necessarily as good as her. I hc that Ada gives AMAZING massages, she can turn leon into a limp noodle (yes that way too)

Drives/rides shotgun: ADA'S DRIVING

Brings the other lunch at work: Ada might cause she would wanna tease him about it. in an au setting tho, Leon would be the one heading to her work and giving her lunches hehe

Has the better parental relationship: ... what does this mean. like their parents? they dead. i really can't say tbh cause we don't know either of their relationships with their parents. unless this means like, them being parents? half and half, it depends on what aspects of parenting since there's so many ways to parent

Tries to start role-playing in bed: Ada 100% Leon might but he's bad at it. he's cringe but she loves that

Embarrassingly drunk dancer: Leon is also a terrible dancer sober and has two left feet but doesn't mind that Ada is a splendid dancer. She'd help him along and finds it endearing that he's so focused on getting the moves/steps right she'd just want him to move along with her and to stop panicking. she wants him to just feel the moment rather than the act of trying to dance well

Still cries watching Titanic: Leon. He's a movie dude. Would've had Titanic in the two part VHS tapes. also when is like canonically the first time leon saw boobs LMAO

Firmly believes in couples costumes: ADA SDFBSKFk leon's not one to dress up anyways and would just go along with whatever ada had planned

Breaks the expensive gift rule during Christmas: Ada

Makes the other eat breakfast: LEON. he's a breakfast dude. Ada a habitual breakfast skipper and maybe coffee or tea drinker before she just starts her day. she might have a small brunch later but she only really starts eating breakfast more when Leon asks for it or he just makes it because he WANTS BREAKFAST. fic where i wrote leon crying over breakfast (i think it's chapter 6?)

Remembers anniversaries: Leon ;_; but Ada does also but she's more silent about it. She'd still wanna celebrate but only if he wants to. If there's some sort of anniversary or even his birthday she'll still drop off something for him if she can. wrote about his birthday here

Brings up having kids: LEON but only in a sad way. Maybe if he's being sad about missing out on it but also in a way where he's worried he wouldn't be able to provide a good life for them anyways so it's better off this way. ada i feel would NEVER bring up having kids unless she was actually PRENGNENT.

first of all i just wanna say how amazing tvl has been so far and the JOURNEY it has taken me on. tumblr user literaphobe i do not exaggerate when i say it is the best aged up/smut ladynoir fic ive ever read— if not THEE best ladynoir fic ive ever read period. u might as well just rip my heart out of my chest and take it because it is YOURS. second of all, i wanted to say a thank u (on behalf of everyone) for taking the time to not only write an amazing fic but also engage with ur fans and really show how much u care about ur artistry!! i can tell this project is something precious to you, and thats something that really makes ur work all the more special. i very badly wish that i could shout from the rooftops for everyone to give tvl some love. u so deserve it. Since forever, you have always wanted to go on a big adventure, to travel through the world and to discover new foods and games. And no matter how much time passed, this dream did not change, rather it became more developed, more thoroughly planned. The only thing you still need is a partner, someone to travel with, to build trust and a relationship with, because there’s nothing better than to share your joy with another person. Even if you have no idea where to get someone willing to travel around without a proper goal, and how to convince anyone to just start wandering around with you. But you decided to try nonetheless, so you tried asking around, asking the people you know if they might know someone willing. But nobody ever had the slightest idea about anyone. They only suggested you ask the guild, but you don’t want to do that, you don’t want to spend money for such a measly thing, and you wanted someone who really wanted to be there to be at your side. 

So, with no other option, you make your way into the closest pub, hoping to finally meet someone open to your idea. If this doesn’t work, well, you would need to think of something new. 

With a sigh, you take a seat and let your eyes travel amongst the masses, trying to discover someone sitting all alone, just like you. Only it’s a bit different, isn’t it? 

Finally, you spot a hooded person sitting all alone in the corner of this place, and you immediately know why: from that spot every possible exit is visible, and you cannot be surprised from behind. But you shrug, you have no malice, so why try to sneak up on them in the first place? 

After a couple of steps you stop in front of the table, leaning forward to press your palms against the table. “Hello there, mind me joining you?” you ask, and still sit down without waiting for a response. 

But he doesn’t seem to actually mind, as he barely reacts, aside from shifting his focus towards you, and you’re able to discern a dark eye, while the other is hidden by a patch. Half of his face is hidden behind the shadow of a cloth. He seems to have seen quite a bit, but what can you say, more experience is better for your endeavors, supposing he does join you. 

“So, you’re alone, I’m alone, let’s make a deal,” you almost wince when you realize the possible implications, so you make haste to continue explaining your plans for the near future. “You see, I plan on being a traveler, but I still need a companion. What do you say? Me and you, going on the adventure of the century, wouldn’t that be amazing?”

A sigh as he leans back, his gaze hovering all over you, probably calculating whatever worth or trust you might have, so you smile, while also trying your best to not look like you can’t do anything on your own. 

*Fine. Meet me tomorrow at the backdoor.” With these words he just stands up and exits the building, leaving you all alone to process what just happened. 

And once you do, you can’t help but let out a celebratory ‘yes’. You did it, you managed to find someone to join you for the biggest adventure of your life, the only and first adventure of your life, but hey, aim high to get the best results, or something. 

You hurry back home to finish the last preparation for the next day, barely able to fall back asleep after it, the nerves making your body feel too jittery. Yet you manage to finally take a bit of rest. 

The next day, you make your way back to the pub and go around it, heading for the backdoor he had mentioned yesterday. To your surprise he’s already waiting there, leaning against the wall with the hood low on his head. And the closer you walk to him, the more you realize how well built he is, even with the cloak hiding the definitions of his body, his broad shoulders tell you more than enough. Still, you’re not intimidated, rather this makes you more excited as his experience will definitely help you in the long run. 

You walk up to him and greet him with a good morning. He returns the greeting with a more causal one, before he decides to speak up again. 

“I wanted to clarify something first before we actually head out…” he explains before pulling down his hood, revealing strands of pure silver, almost like the moon had given him this glow as a present. Silver hair, something common within the volk of the elves, and then your eyes snap to his ears, to his pointed ears, poking out of the strands of hair. 

With this, you realize why he had been alone, and why he revealed this to you just now. Some people have some sort of twisted prejudice against elves, one you just don’t understand, even if you never had met a real elf before. That doesn’t change your opinion one bit. He trusted you with this knowledge, and you won’t break his trust. So, you do what you always do.

“Oh, I love your hair. I don’t see a problem. Rather I’m excited to finally start, come on!” you grab his hand and start dragging him along, grinning widely at the prospect of exploration. 

His fingers clutch a little tighter at yours and if you had turned around you might’ve seen a smile twinkle in his eyes, even if his face remains hidden for a little while longer. 

This is the beginning of your journey, one filled with joy, excitement, a blooming trust, and most importantly, more than just being companions, maybe even more than friends. And maybe this adventure won’t be the greatest of the century, but it is the greatest one to you, one you will never forget.
