because of my sister! she brought home a fic and we all read it together, and after that she would bring home more fics and share them with us. i only started writing because there was a specific kind of fic i wanted to read, but she couldn't find anything like i was asking for. so i wrote it myself!

I finally have a new car!!! something i have been wanting for a few years!!! and it's all my own :) i am so unbelievably excited about it now that the initial stress and anxiety about the shopping/buying process is over

i have been feeling more and more appreciated(? not really the right word hhh) at work lately. i knew before that i was objectively a good worker, but it's only started to really hit me recently just how much people actually recognize that! i think it's because of a conversation i had with one of my pseudo-supervisors: i was talking to her about how it was hard because after you've been working here for some time, people stop actually introducing themselves to you. and i would always feel kind of lost because all these people seemed to know my name but i never knew who they were! because they didn't introduce themselves!! but she told me that the reason they knew my name is because people talked about me. and it hit me again yesterday bc i was working in my old area but with primarily new people, but the manager there had heard of me before!! she recognized my name. idk. it's just kind of a nice feeling that people actually do see how hard i work.

despite the horror of April, i am actually looking forward to a few things this month :) including the Haikyuu movie (please let at least one of my theaters have it, they've been having quite a few anime movies recently ;; ) and also momocon !!! which i convinced my sister to let me drag her to it lmao <3 and i'll be hunting for bsd plushies there hehehe

"Binnie, what're you doing here?" You asked, surprised as you walked further into the apartment, Minho trailing behind you.

Changbin sighed, "Well, since you're being a grade A dumbass," you sputtered, indignantly, but stopped when he gave you a look. "and aren't listening to reason, I figured I'd stay here with you tonight, for my own mental health at least." He glanced over at Minho, who had moved to the side to give you both some space. "But I didn't realize you had company though. Lee Minho, huh?"

"Why'd you say his name like that?" You raised an eyebrow, your earlier blush returning with a vengeance at Changbin's teasing tone.

"I just thought you were 'terrified of him'." He raised his fingers in quotes, smirking.

"Oh my god, I was wrong. I learned to not judge a book by it's cover, okay?" You groaned, refusing to look at Minho, embarrassed that even though you had (drunkenly) told him your first impression yourself, Changbin was bringing it up so brazenly.

"Oh wait, was he the guy you were texting the other night?" Changbin teased. "Is that why he walked you home?"

You threw your hands up, already done with this conversation. "No, it's because he lives here!"

Changbin blinked, so surprised at the answer that all tormenting was dropped. "Lives here?"

"Yes, he's my roommate for right now. You all were so adamant I get one, so here he is." You rolled your eyes.

"But you were living with Chan?" Changbin asked Minho, turning to him. "Why'd you suddenly move here?"

Minho nodded, and you could see his lips part to say something before an odd look suddenly came over his face. You took a step forward, concerned, before he turned to you, "oh shit."

You and Changbin watched as Minho suddenly shrunk down, becoming a cat rapidly. If you’d have blinked, you’d have missed it.

The silence spread through the apartment as you and Changbin stared at Kitty Minho before you awkwardly clapped your hands together. "Uh, so that's why he's here."

"Y/n, that explains nothing!"

Replaying TRR again, but this time, I’m buying all the diamond scenes.

Maxwell is a pretty well-written character with a reasonable balance between courtly etiquette and goofy antics for most of book 1. I’ve said before that his Flanderization into an incessant party mosquito started in book 2, but now that I’m replaying the series and buying all the scenes, it feels like he started to take a subtle turn for the obnoxious at the tail end of book 1. Personally, after replaying, I felt that Maxwell dipped his toes into the annoying pool in chapter 16, then went waist deep in chapter 17 and didn’t recover after that.

Which, coincidentally, seems to have been when the writers shifted gears and started to try and work up to Maxwell eventually becoming a love interest in book 2 despite not originally being marketed as one.

In chapter 18 during his dance-off with Hana in her diamond scene, the MC is presented with the option to announce him into the challenge as “Unexpected Heartthrob”…which speaks for itself.

In chapter 19, during his diamond scene, the MC can kiss Maxwell on the cheek (which flusters him) AND ask him if she’ll ever see him without his shirt on. If neither of these choices are flirting, I’m not sure what is.

But what likely pushed the writers to add more romance-adjacent choices to Maxwell’s dynamic with the MC occurred way before these chapters. All the way back in chapter 8 when the MC is doing the Cordonian Waltz (a courtship dance, might I add) with Maxwell in Lythikos, the MC can either tell him that she thinks the dance is a little scandalous for the ballroom…or, in stark contrast, how there’s no one else she’d rather be dancing with, which Maxwell gently rebukes her for.

And then in chapter 10, the MC can tell Maxwell she’s looking forward to spending time with him on the beach. This particular interaction is noteworthy because it grants the MC a Maxwell relationship point. Throughout the first and second books, the MC can gain relationship points (NOTE: different from romance points) with Liam, Drake, Hana, and even Olivia. This instance in chapter 10 is the only relationship point that can ever be gained with Maxwell. Yes, ever.

I’m thinking these two originally small and insignificant choices in chapter 8 and 10 gained so much attention from fans that Pixelberry realized Maxwell had potential as a love interest, leading them to sprinkle in some rewrites in book one that hinted at a future romance. These rewrites could also explain why chapter 10’s interaction is the only instance of us gaining a relationship point with Maxwell: Pixelberry likely rewrote scenes with choices that originally granted more Maxwell relationship points and forgot to replace them after.

So while they went way heavier on the buildup to Maxwell becoming a love interest in book 2, the signs were there early on, and they gradually built up to Maxwell becoming less of a bumbling but well-meaning guide to the MC, and more of an air-headed, foolhardy, childish pest.

And honestly? It makes me wonder: how might Maxwell’s character have been different if the writers didn’t turn him into a love interest? Would he have kept his early/mid-book 1 personality? Would Maxwell have pursued a relationship with Penelope? Would his role in the story have gradually lessened like Bertrand’s did? How might he have affected future books like TRH/TRF?

Unbeknownst to him, former Paladin Mobius not only has a troubled past, but an agenda of his own. Sent to spy on the Elder Trees’ host, Dyllard Portyr, for the tenday, Mobius is tasked to find out if he knows anything about Duke Ravengard’s disappearance. Or, if Odin does.

For, it is said, Odin once made a pact with a devil. A pact no one can discern the extent of, nor its ramifications in the present day.

Detroit: Become Human (26) (predominantly Hank/Connor RK800, but some Simon/Markus too)

Metamorph (18/18) - my first ever DBH fic! HankCon, obviously. 137k, I kid you not. After a peaceful Android Revolution, Hank and Connor both try to navigate this new world they’re living in.

Silent Treatment (17/17) - in which the entire game plot is turned into a near-future sci-fi thriller. Go me!

The Knight and the Fool - fairytale mashup time! In which Hank is an old knight who goes to prove himself in a tourney, hoping to keep his farm running.

How to Create a Monster (10/10) - undercover high stakes, badass Connor, separate timelines and POVs.

Being Alive (19/19 ) - so I basically rewrote the whole HankCon third of the game, in a Reverse AU where Human!Cop Connor doesn’t smoke, is not a Gavin Reed knockoff, or “Hank” as played by Bryan Dechart instead of Clancy Brown.

Only You - A what-if spin and continuation on Being Alive, if that fic hadn’t had a happy ending.

Great Pretenders (1/1) - undercover shenanigans meet fake dating/fake relationship! Two of my fave tropes combined!

The Witch and the Werewolf - my prompt fill for a Halloween event. What it says on the tin, really. HankCon reimagined as a historical thriller with Sleepy Hollow vibes. And magic.

Spa Day (5/5) - Porn with Feels, in which Connor lovingly doms the heck outta Hank.

After the events of Tapestry of Time, Loki has his mind set on going back to Asgard. On his timeline, his branch, to either face the consequences of his actions, or discern Odin's role in everything that led up to his encounter with the Chitauri, and the assault on Manhattan.

Sledgehammer (2/2)

When an anonymous user sends an amateur porn clip to Loki’s TemPad, he doesn’t know what to think. Who sent it to him? Why? But he’s charmed by the easy swagger of a young Don leading the way into his bedroom, drawn in by his confident, laidback sex appeal.

But the longer he watches, the more difficult it is to stop. And once he’s watched the contents of the sex tape, there’s no turning back.

Question is how to keep going forward without inadvertently ruining his friendship with Mobius.

Tapestry of Time (10/10)

After the season finale, the TVA gang is left in a state of shock. None moreso than Mobius, who finds a note tucked into his breast pocket.

It says "I love you. Forgive me."

It changes everything, and sends Mobius on a quest to get Loki back, without dishonoring his sacrifice.

Turns out that's easier said than done.

Variations on the Theme of Us (2/?) - set in the same ‘universe’ as Sledgehammer, but after the events of that fic.

When Loki wants to do something nice for Mobius whether or not they have an actual anniversary coming up, he sneaks off to the Sacred Timeline on a whim.

Unbeknownst to him, the adult toy store he walks into is manned by none other than the Don of his combined wet dreams and nightmares. And Don? Spells all kinds of trouble.

Void (1/1)

Post-S2 finale, Mobius hacks his TemPad to recreate one of his own memories, and uses the time loop chamber thingie to relive it. Over. And over. And over again.

Person of Interest (1) (Reese/Finch)

How Not to Say I Love You (1/1)

When Reese and Finch go undercover to help a Number at a couples therapy weekend retreat, not everything is as it seems, and John has to navigate his own emotions while posing as someone whose situation hits too close to home.

Recently (over the last yearish) I completely rewrote and reworked a fanfic I started/worked on extensively when I was 17/18 years old, just for fun (I have done this sort of thing before, though usually recent stuff, only a few years out of date, which is how rng got published on ao3), and I was so lost in the sauce that it's now almost 25k, with scenes and side chapters still missing, and I just got really emotional because (warning novie backstory) I was so scared of my mom finding my extensive work of handwritten fanfiction while I was away at school, not because she would have gotten mad at me but because I am That Shy, that I burned it all (literally, lit on fire in the middle of the night and swept up the ashes and actually set my porch on fire briefly on accident) EXCEPT for this fic and one other, both of which I still have the original notebook paper copies of, and eventually uploaded to sit in my email storage forever (this is how I archive my old fic no it is not safe or very logical it's fine) or until I touched it again, which I actually did! The first time I rewrote part of this fic was seven years ago, actually, seven years from the time I first wrote it!

And I got emotional also because obviously she would be very embarrassed but I was just struck by the fact that this original concept is like 14 years old and I still loved it enough to write it all over again, twice, years and years later, and I think younger me would be baffled and delighted by how much longer it is now than it ever was before, and how much care I continue to put into things I refuse to publish, still, after all this time has passed, and after all the fandoms in between

4. what is the plot bunny you’ve been carrying for the longest? optional bonus question: do you ever wonder why you haven’t written it yet and experience deep existential dread?

OHHHH BOYYYYYYYYYY. I actually have a few I believe. But I'll share a few since this would end up getting way too long lol (plus I would have to comb through my backlog to remember):

I have two plus one rewrite ideas for Ikarishipping. The rewrite is basically just a whole rewrite (for the second time in my life) of my biggest at-the-time on-going fic Bluebells and Lavenders/re: Bluebells and Lavenders that I posted way back on ffnet. The reason being that when I first wrote BbaL I was like, 13-15 and got a really nasty flame comment (I am showing my age with this lol) about my grammar and writing syntax, plot, etc and like, at the time despite English being my first language, I just could not understand grammar or the basics of the English language (look, words are hard okay 😥).

So I decided from that flame comment I was going to rewrite that fic and I did when I was 16-17. But since then my writing and style have changed and I would like to rewrite it and post it on ao3. I think I haven't gotten around to it is because it's just... A lot to do. And a lot to plan. When I rewrote BbaL and wrote re:BbaL I had meticulous notes that I have no idea where they are now.

The other two Ikari fics I want to write, one is insp by Marianas Trench song "Haven't Had Enough" which I also originally wanted to do a Cosplay Music Video back when I was 15-16 because why not lol. Plus CMVs were really popular back in my day (OH GOD I USED THAT PHRASE). I'm not sure if it's still popular now? It would be, also a Modern AU/College AU I think? I haven't really thought that ahead other than "slow burn rivals to friends to lovers" LOL

And the second idea is just inspired by the song "SUPERMODEL" by Maneskin. I'm not sure what the root idea would be other than maybe Paul and Dawn are both huge top models...? Yeah, I hadn't really gotten too far with this idea haha.

Another plot bunny I had on hold is a Hosie one actually! Actually I have a lot but I'll share two:

One is a Modern AU and it's actually inspired by my time working on student films. Except this idea is more Josie has a webseries and brought in friends from her film school days to help her out and Hope is the cinematographer. I started writing it actually, around the same time I was working on my own webseries. But since my webseries project went caput, I haven't found motivation to keep writing this fic.

The second is a Life is Strange 1 AU where Josie is Max Caulfield and Hope is Chloe Price. I wanted it to also be like a "choose your own adventure" type fic as well where at the end of certain chapters with BIG decisions, you would then pick your choice between 2 options and skip to whatever chapter your choice would be in. I think the reason I haven't done this is cuz it's also pretty hefty to write, and also doing a "choose your own adventure" is gonna require lots of meticulous planning that I don't have the spoons for.

73. how do you visualize scenes? do you see it like a movie in your head, or do the words just flow?

Definitely like a movie in my head!! It helps me more when I picture the scenes I want to write in my head and then I just figure out the words from there.

It's especially helpful when I write fight scenes! I watch a lot of anime and other action-based shows (recently binge watched Cobra Kai and watched some clips from The Magicians since I miss that show a lot), so when I write fight scenes in my stories (mainly You're The One Born To Save Hosie series), I just visualize the fights/actions like an anime. I mean, I already mucked up the magic lore in the TVDUniverse so I might as well keep going with the artistic liberties and flair with it haha. Plus, it's really fun writing these anime-esque action fight scenes :3

1)Last sentence you wrote? Okay, this is kind of cheating, but because I haven't written anything since I finished chapter 6 of should've said no (and you might still have me) I'll give you something I quickly wrote down when I woke up in the middle of the night the other day.

"There was a yawning pit inside of him and it was going to eat him alive."

4)A story idea you haven't written yet? The sentence above is from a story I haven't written yet. It's a very sad story about Wille Not Having A Good Time as he's reminded of some of the terrible things he's been through as he revisits different places.

5) First sentence of the fifth paragraph of an unpublished WIP As Wille opened the fridge door, his gaze fell on Simon’s message he’d left this morning: “I believe in you. My brave disaster baker 💜“.

16)Favorite place to write My desk! Preferably standing up!

17)Talk about your writing and editing process I honestly feel like there's not all that much to say. I typically don't plan anything, I just go into it and see what happens. I also don't write chronologically, so I'll often tackle the big scenes first and then kind of fill in the blanks to connect them. Editing is limited due to having no time, so I usually just read everything once when I'm done writing. I also don't really delete stuff- if anything I rearrange or replace words. Sorry- that's such a boring answer.

18)If you keep them, share a deleted sentence or paragraph from a published fic. This is from Royally Whipped. This is from when they go to the Italian restaurant. If you've read the story, you know what has changed (don't want to spoiler anyone, so keeping it a bit ambiguous here).

ETA: I just checked- this is the only deleted scene I have. Everything else I kept in and rewrote or repurposed. Which goes back to my editing process where I cut almost nothing.

Hoping he didn’t read the situation completely wrong, Wille decided that maybe it was time to just risk it. Put his heat out there. He didn’t think he was doing a good job hiding his feelings anyway. “How about this: I’ll give you my favorite song from Beneath the Skin if…” he cleared his throat, feeling nerves creeping up his back like thousands of tiny ants, “if you’ll let me take you on a date,” he finished, much quieter than he’d wanted to. He looked down at their hands, no longer touching but so close that if he shifted his pinky he’d cover Simon’s thumb. “Oh, so this isn’t a date, then?” Simon asked, jokingly. Wille looked into his face, trying to read what he saw there. “It is, if you want it to be,” Wille replied, now definitely blushing. “I’d rather our first date was something more private,” Simon said. Wille smiled shily. “I can live with that.”

Nothing significant beyond getting very close to finishing the draft's first round of edits. I have chunks of writing not done simply because ✨️I don't know what to write✨️. I'll probably just leave it and add in for my mother, "Please, ideas, I'm at a loss send help" 😭.

I rewrote Andrei/Anya's segment in an earlier chapter. 11? I can't remember, oh boy. Point is, I did, I feel a lot better about it. 17 got completely rewritten because I really didn't like the "final encounter". I'm trying to add in more flavor text wherever I can think of any but it's definitely going to be up to the forum when I'm posting, as I want to reflect the MCs personality wherever it make sense.

Lastly, I've been adding in details about MC and general lore. I actually had the hardest time and most fun doing 17 because, if approved, would be a huge help for Book 3. Otherwise, other things I've been adding are for Books 2 and 3. I'm going as fast as I can, I swear! I've been putting all of my focus on it so that's why I haven't posted anything on AO3 as of it. In total, including all routes/branches, there are at most 180k words. I have a feeling Book 3 will be the longest just because of the nature of it, but we'll see when we get there.

I think after the trilogy is done, I'll go onto another project or back to Amberwood. Still, so far, Nyx is the only one MOST LIKELY to have his own spin-off. I have one project I really look forward to in the future when I've written more stories. 😩✨️

Hey! :) First I want to say I just loveee your story and the universe you created and the lastest update is truly heartbreaking but I was super curious on the spellcaster vs vampire dynamic in your world and what are the limits of it, especially morally for Caleb:

If giving the chance, would Caleb have turned Morgyn and the sages to vampires in order to save them? Would Caleb even want to do that, would that even be saving them in his eyes or would it be condemning them - a fate almost worse than death?

Thank you soooooo much! I'm having so much fun writing, sharing, and discussing this story with you all, even when it's painful. 😭

Before I get to these questions directly, I want to reiterate that this all originates from me deciding to kill off the Sages as an inciting plot point in the legacy-based story I started this blog with, Escape from Windenburg. I posted that story here in short snippets, but in its original form it was essentially written like a novel. You can read it at my retired blog if you're so inclined. (Yes, I was doing all that for nobody but myself.)

Since I know most people don't have time to casually read a 17-chapter story, I'm going to link the most relevant parts. The attack on the Sages (which is shown but using EA animations, so it's not terribly graphic) and Misael's defeat is here. An explanation for why the Sages cannot be revived is here, and I semi-rewrote this for Caleb's talk with Grace a few weeks back. Honestly, the reasoning behind why the Sages are dead dead has always been kind of hand-wave-y, but the essence of it is that they'd been using magic to extend their lifetimes already and since they were already overdue for death, the universe literally refuses to give them back, even if methods of revival technically exist.

Combined with that fact, I know there are lots of different takes on vampire creation lore, but in this universe it's only possible if the person is still alive. They might be barely hanging on (like Helena), but they can't be fully dead. Therefore, Caleb still wouldn't have been able to fly to the Realm after getting the news from Grace and save the Sages by turning them. It was far too late by then. Now, if he had gone as soon as he started to worry and found them still alive, would he have actually turned them? This is a trickier question!

Keep in mind Helena is the first person he's ever turned, and he was faced with a similar conundrum - let her die or "save" her by turning her. In his mind, being a vampire is a curse, but if it's the only way to prevent an otherwise untimely and undeserved death, maybe it's worth it. Of course, as much as he'd like to downplay the role it played, the fact that Lilith begged him to do it can't be discounted. Would he have intervened if Helena were a random person attacked by a random vampire who he just happened to stumble upon in an alley somewhere? Probably not. He's not really the type to get involved in a situation if he doesn't have to (unless it's one created by his sister).

But if he was willing to do it for Helena, he would have absolutely turned Morgyn if given the chance. He certainly wouldn't have been thinking rationally, and he would've seen turning them as the only way to hold onto them. They were the one person Caleb had fully let know him and let himself fall in love with, and he would've done anything not to lose that. It would've been a selfish move, and he might've had to deal with the consequences later (especially if it wasn't what Morgyn wanted), but it would've felt like the only choice. As for the other Sages, if his tunnel vision even allowed him to register them, he'd hesitate at turning them because he has less of a personal connection. (Simeon and Faba were older and more traditional, so Morgyn didn't see much of them outside work and Caleb barely knew them).

Oliver Croix 2024

Well... I'm officially in a X-men '97 brainrot. It's my favorite show right now and I'm loving it. Thought I'd go back and give my OC Oliver a new character sheet and update his look yet again. And yes... there will be some pics of him and Nightcrawler coming very soon :)

Oliver has been with me for a very very very very long time. I created the first version of him sometime in 2004. Fun fact - Oliver used to be a girl named 'Drake' who resembled a panther. Pretty sure she was still Sabertooth's daughter that was adopted by Wolverine for some reason. She wasn't French and to be honest she didn't get along with Nightcrawler at all. Their story was definitely the 'friends to lovers' trope - I can assure you it was badly/hastily written and more than likely didn't make any sense because I wrote it when I was 17. Not sure why I scrapped that version but eventually I did and came up with this look - a boy named Oliver Croix who resembles a siamese cat. I really wish I could remember what made me change him so drastically but I've been rocking with this guy since then. The first pic I posted of him here has a date of 2005. I might do a color swap or comparison to Drake if I can find her original pics.

The only thing that's really changed this time is his ears. I found a really good tutorial on anthro ears and thought it looked better than what I had for him before which was basically elf ears. His eyes are also different - I really love it when characters' corneas are a color other than white - I just think it's cool. So I made his a lighter blue than his eyes. And... I gave him toe beans like a real kitty!

Back in 2017 I rewrote Oliver's story when I found a site to read comics for free - and his story had a soft ending at about 35 chapters! You can read Oliver's story here!

My favorite scene

Oh this is hard. I really liked cobra pack scenes, or I mean Johnny using tomato juice and a skunk to hide his scent. I also really liked him head butting silver and Daniel fighting Kreese.

My favorite chapter (if it's a multichapter)

There cobra reunion chapters. Chapter 17 reunion and chapter 18 Mourning Lost Time It's maybe the one of those desperate wishes, for all the cobras and Robby to have a day together that's good, with Dutch out of jail even if temporary and Tommy still alive.

Hardest scene to write

There were a few. Daniel and Bobby and Johnny after the Kreese fight. Originally Jimmy was there too and I just couldn't figure out what to do with Jimmy during the actual fight so I cut him. But essentially when Johnny wakes up in the original draft he was surrounded, with either Jimmy or Bobby weighing him down and the other on one side and Daniel on the other.

Another was when Daniel's trying to fix things after getting Johnny back and he has his first heat. Miguel ends up talking him down from whatever anger was there, and I rewrote that a couple times because it felt weird for Miguel to be there to just drop off food and then I needed him to leave lol. Miguel ends up telling him a flash back in the original of Johnny talking about Mr. Miyagi but I ended up cutting that and letting Sam do that in a class later. The other was the final rescue. I'm a sucker for a good rescue and trying to figure out how they'd save Johnny was a struggle. I think in one version Daniel claims him as a mate and that overrules the debt. In another Johnny's already in the back of the limo and Daniel fights Silver and his staff. I also wanted the kids to be a part of it. Them saving Johnny was important, and trying to figure out how that was going to work was difficult. But then I realized what would be the most satisfying would be the community and group of people who loved him coming for his rescue and then as soon as he realized he was truly free, kicking ass himself. It was just better.

Favorite character to write in the fic

I enjoyed writing Johnny and all the stuff he was doing or trying to figure out. But also writing Daniel and all his lectures and spirals. The kids were also fun. Robby 99% sure that Bobby was his dad was a good one too and fun to write him having this fun pack childhood.

Favorite dynamic to write in the fic

Johnny and Anthony. Having Johnny win Anthony over is like my favorite. Like winning over Sam is a given (and I did greatly enjoy writing their earlier bond), but Anthony kinda butts heads with people and having him use that as a defense because he knows he's in a similar boat and terrified? I enjoyed it. And then having Johnny try to support him within whatever constraints he was given while also not betraying his trust. All the cobra pack and Robby with Johnny. Having Johnny not know smell but know to watch people and then when he does know how to smell it all again realizing Robby is his and how Robby gets to understand this missing puzzle piece of his pack and is just happy to have him back. The way both of them ran straight at Dutch as soon as he was around.

Why I chose that title

So wisteria is edible, but a lot of the plant is poisonous. And I wanted that dynamic for the fic. Like there's this beautiful flower, it takes a lot of care especially for where it is to bloom and you can make something delicious out of it but you have to handle it with care and knowledge to not hurt or poison yourself. The flower also means luck and a "devotion that transcends death". It really felt symbolically fitting. Daniel ends up with Johnny on his doorstep who needs to be handled with care, their relationship needs watering and attention in order to get Johnny to bloom and for their relationship to flourish. But there are all these parts of Johnny that are 'poisonous' or dangerous. Silver being a controlling part of Johnny's life, Kreese being there too. Johnny hiding the fact he's an omega. All poisonous pitfalls that Daniel has to navigate and solve before he can get the flowers to bloom let alone even attempt to create something sweet like a sherbert out of it.

A fun fact about the fic

Lol you know the answer to this one. There's a few things. This was my first foray into a/b/o fics and I did a lot of attempted research to try and determine what tropes make an a/b/o fic and what I wanted to keep or get rid of. It was actually a good challenge because I had fun doing it and ended up writing another. 😂

The other is that I spent hours looking at art by the giftee to determine tropes that weren't listed in the secret santa to include. I had several extra tabs up of art and would generally pop over to look at it all and try to fit in as many scenes as I could to try and hit those. I also got nervous because I didn't know if all the dynamics I wrote would be welcome. Sometimes people don't like certain characters, and Anthony tends to not be very popular but that ended up being a big character arc in the fic that I didn't want to lose. I think Silver also was a little more handsy.

2. talk about a notable time a narrative or character has looked you dead in the eyes and said “fuck your plan, here’s what we’re actually doing.”

It's very minor because he has so few lines/so little presence in the story, but it's when Big dies in II4Y. I didn't want him to die but I realized he needs to die for Kim to understand what permanent loss is. In chapter one, Kim is dealing with a break up, which is definitely a sort of loss, but once Chay and him begin to matter to each other again, Kim begins to realize that loss can be a lot worse, a lot more permanent. By chapter four, he's sort of gotten everyone back, right? Chay is talking to him, he's hanging out with his brothers. Big's death shocks him into remembering that it can be all taken away very quickly.

7. tell us about the plot of the first fanfic you ever wrote

I know that my first fic was something written for classic Fruits Basket, but I can't remember the plot for the life of me. It was probably fluff or a retelling of Kyo's transformation when his bracelet comes off. The earliest, actual fic I can recall the plot too very vividly is a Supernatural Megstiel fic, in which I rewrote parts of Hello, Cruel World so that Meg Masters finds Castiel's trenchcoat and body. Unfortunately, I deleted that story because I wrote it at the height of SPN, and Megstiel was a rough ship to write at the time lol. I wish I hadn't deleted it! It would've been cool to take another look at it now, or maybe even potentially rewrite.

11. what’s something neat you’ve learned while doing research for something you were writing? also, how much do you worry about doing research in general?

The entire process of making Thai desserts/food for BSC90 has been so great. Like, truly unmatched. Outside of fandom, my research is really depressing and almost always about the Law/law. So to really deep dive into how these foods are made and how chocolate was/is produced in Thailand is really fun. I do take research pretty seriously, and I do what I can to be as accurate as possible. Right now, I'm pretty knee deep in reading about football/football RPF, and I recently followed a bunch of popular players on my Instagram, and that's been pretty wild. And, of course, can't forget my favorite Dutch politicians either. Though, that research wasn't for writing. I just really got interested in reading about the Netherlands and far right government officials. I find myself just rereading or watching Dutch debate whenever I can find translations, fan-written or official.

17. what is your favorite line you’ve ever written?

God. It changes so often, especially depending on my mood. Right now, it's from YLTTL:

The subtle but decreasing hesitations in WIK’s motions make Porchay unsteady and ashamed at the same time. In his dreams, he envisioned WIK as the criminal: keen on stealing Porchay’s heart and laughing mercilessly while walking away, leaving Porchay naked on the floor. He imagined, the other week, after WIK had left him alone, that at their best, they could only ever be temporary bliss: a mistake, heat of the moment, other clichés that left Porchay feeling angry and confused. He had resolved that if the moment were to come, he’d give himself entirely to WIK and blindly hope that WIK would do the same, and they could leave without saying anything more. 

Their togetherness, he cruelly imagined, would be one born of force, passionate with no regard for the future, a story as old as time: those with power taking advantage of those with none.

18. what is your most and least favorite part of writing?

The action of writing is my favorite part of writing. And also finding out if someone reread something of mine. Least favorite part is posting/submitting/publishing.

35. tell us about a character who’s very different than you who you love a whole lot

Definitely Chay. Chay is so different from me. I think what we have in common is poverty and independence, but other than that, Chay is such a bold, forward, dynamic character. He takes what he wants! When I wanted to ask out my current partner, I wrote a letter and then fled the country. Chay, on the other hand, just fucking shows up to where Kim is and calls it a date. I think he's the bravest character in the whole fucking show actually. All of what he does, what he navigates, is mostly done alone and independently and, up to a certain point, by choice. I admire that so much. He takes risks, even if it ends in detriment to himself. He's never static, he's never standing still. He feels things and acts on those emotions. Now, whether he processes them properly or maturely is up in the air, but he's not wallowing for long, and I truly think in a post-canon world, he would continue to do what he can to move on and adapt to his new life. That can be "Chay having a ho phase" or "Chay integrates into the mafia" or "Chay runs to Switzerland, meets Kang Yohan from The Devil Judge, and becomes a vigilante judge when he comes back to Thailand."

40. best piece of feedback you’ve ever gotten.

"You're probably going to get decimated, but everyone will have questions." This came from my dissertation advisor/mentor. And she was right!

47. what story are you most proud of?

It's definitely a tie between YLTTL and Still Painting Flowers for You. I'm quite proud of the latter. It's short and it has, what I feel, is a good balance of canon and a reflection of two very important women in my life.

I'm pretty sure you already know Ethlynn, she's one of the ocs I show the most in general. I created Ethlynn around the same time I made Sina, and the story always has been centered around dreams... although at first it was centered more about Ethlynn being an outcast. Since then I rewrote everything

Ethlynn's story is in three arcs, starting from when she's 13 to roughly late 20s

At tye current point at which I present her she's 17-18

Ethlynn litterally grew up with me ! I was 13 when I made her, hence why the first act starts at that age for her

Currently I'm in my early 20s and so is she, although she's still transitionning to adulthood

And lastly she'll have an other arc as she approaches the 30s

None of that is written lmao it's just bunch of notes and chapter plans

But I'm getting there !

The Welcome Home fandom will also know Ethlynn as Nyxie's mom ! The two being dreamwalkers and Ethlynn being responsible for Nyxie's condition, she had to take care of the puppet and teach her everything before sending her to WH

This related a lot to the deep Nyxie lore

Now moving on to Orichalque

Orichalque is also a very old oc, the first one I made when I started reading Warrior Cats. But she didn't stay a WC oc very long, as I made her into a sona and then gave her a new story

Now, in the current story, there are two "Orichalque"s

'Orichalque"- the one you will meet in Pause Garden

'Auricalque" - the warrior cat version of my lil' fanfic Star Path

17. Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?

I usually write the scenes in order, from start to finish. The closest I come to doing things out of order is that sometimes I will jump ahead and do a detailed outline of a later chapter if I think of ways I want it to be in conversation with an earlier one (eg. if there are interesting parallelism, or thematic commonalities), and often my outlines start with bullet points and then end up basically being very rough drafts, complete with pages of dialogue and the emotional beats or notes on where to add descriptions. And I guess with my current long MLC fic, I wrote a few drafts of the first few chapters, then did 15k of outlines/incredibly rough drafts for later chapters, and then the other day realized what was bugging me about how I had written the first chapter, so I went back and completely rewrote it. So I guess in that regard, I jump around, because I might go back and totally reconceive of a chapter based on something I want to do with character development later. (This is why I don’t post fics on AO3 until they’re done; I do a truly absurd amount of rewriting.)

37: Talk about your current wips.

I’m honored that you want to hear about it! I actually have 4 for Mysterious Lotus Casebook fics (3 with absurdly detailed outlines, but only one that I’m actively drafting), so for now, I’ll just talk about the one I’ve worked the most on. 

Post-canon (OT3) Beach fic:

tw/cw: suicide attempt, off-page non-consensual medical procedure

When Li Lianhua’s shiniang tried and failed to sacrifice herself to save Li Lianhua against his will, he fled to the Donghai beach, intending to die before she could catch up with him because he can’t endure the idea that someone else he cared about might die for him. Di Feisheng and Fang Duobing find him first and save his life for the moment, but are horrified to discover the truth that Li Lianhua can’t lie his way out of: that the damage from the survivor’s guilt of everything he’s been through is just as dangerous as the damage from Bicha poisoning. With each of them reeling from the traumas of the past year (Li Lianhua from Shan Gudao’s betrayal and now medical PTSD from his shiniang’s procedure, Fang Duobing from almost losing Li Lianhua and being terrified to let him out of his sight in case he goes straight back to the water, and Di Feisheng from the abuse at the hands of Jiao Liqiao), they have to figure out how to face everything they pushed aside to save the country, and in the process, learn that the hardest battles aren’t fought with swords.
