What got u into tezuka? for americans i think we had to deliberately seek it out but i remember my mom who is mexican said that she vaguely remembers her sister watching princess knight as children :3 so maybe hes more relevant in mexico. im curious!
I never had the chance to see Princess Knight growing up, but I did see the Astro Boy 2003 series! It aired in Cartoon Network back in 2004. I've been a Tezuka fan ever since, the retro style and engaging storytelling with deep themes was too interesting for me to resist. I also have a weakness for sci-fi and immortal creations questioning their existences, which is why I love Shadow the hedgehog.

Three in One Post
For my P-Pal's Drawing.
Tory 😺🩰: Looks really adorable Riya you brought home a pink rabbit. I bet Jenny will love that. Also, Maybe we should enjoy some treats together and dance afterwards. 😊
And for my P-Pal's On this Day Post.
I remember seeing Maxwell's style in Peppa Pig, normally I only remember the US Dub when it used to air on the Cartoon Network Tickle U block, which normally doesn't have good ones on Kid shows. But I know Peppa Pig was Brought back only on Nickelodeon, they only did it in the UK Dub which now gets overboard and is too popular for kids. Even when they showed so much merchandise for Peppa Pig. Even the storyline is lazy and that narrator is always like "Oh Dear! De ta de ta de!" I know these narrators can be over the top depending on which narrator I'm listening to. Even if they didn't keep going like "Oh Dear! Ha ha ha ha ha!" And some kids shows sometimes don't need a narrator. Thomas and Friends Narrating is good because depending on the American or British Dub, they're both good. But with other kids shows, like say Bluey for Example, that show doesn't use a Narrator, since the show is a lot like Peppa Pig, except it has Dogs and the show doesn't use a Narrator and I like that, because the story goes on depending on the story. And when I saw Maxwell's style in the Bluey Universe, it looked really good. Especially if Maxwell wants to tag along with Bluey, Bingo and their friends alongside their families and friends.
And for Response to both my P-Pal and my A-Pal about the Gumball Video.
Yes, I know the Castle Episode where Gumball, Darwin and Anais spend their casual time with their dad and have a party with a bunch of people. But Nicole didn't have to get too Brutal with the People. And yeah I also don't like the Finale episode either like where the Wattersons face the consequences, the Finale would've been better if the Wattersons were sent to a Different Cartoon Network world. Like say they went into the Regular Show universe, except Gumball got separated from his family and was sent to the Park. Gumball decided to get his mind off of Elmore and he even applied for a job as a Park Keeper and Benson assigned Gumball to work with Mordecai and Rigby and the three of them managed to do some of their work and tasks and managed to get them finished. And Mordecai and Rigby kinda like having Gumball around, even Benson toned down his anger since Gumball, Mordecai and Rigby finished their jobs at the right time. But if things get worse like how Benson yelled at them for no reason after saving the park, then his boss, Mr. Mallard, Pops' father, then Demotes Benson to work with Pops and Skips and Nicole Watterson is the new Park Manager, and Darwin will work with Muscle Man and High Five Ghost, and Anais and Richard will enjoy their time at the Apartment. Since that's where Nicole, Richard and Anais live now. And Nicole Watterson will only get angry only if either the Park is in danger by Bad guys or during Park Prank Wars against Jean. And Benson will give Nicole advice about taking on a Prank War and Muscle Man will give her Advice too. And at normal times, I'm sure everyone will get advice from Skips. And at the Coffee Shop, it's only Penny and Eileen working at the Coffee shop now and Rigby and Gumball will enjoy getting drinks and meals anytime. Even if Margaret found a different job.
And that's how I would rewrite the Finale episode in Gumball.
Or if Gumball doesn't get a movie soon, I hope we can work on Cartoon Network in Persona 5 where we have Gumball enjoy his Modern day life in the Cartoon Network town looking a lot like Tokyo. And Penny and Morgana will be there with him, as well as for their Cartoon Network friends and Professor Utonium.

Favorite httyd characters? And have you watched the shows?
it’s really hard to list my favorite characters, because i truly love them all (except you know, grimmel, that fucker). i suppose i’ll go with the basic answer and say that i have absolutely ADORED hiccup ever since my 11 year old self saw him on screen for the first time. i’m pretty sure he’s the reason why sarcasm makes up a main part of my personality, 10+ years later. and obviously toothless, but there’s not really a needed explanation there. i also really do love stoick (and gobber). i’m a sucker for father/son relationships and it’s a gooey complicated lovely thing, watching hiccup and stoick interact (and gobber too. hiccup and his two dads. i love them.) i will never forgive deblois for killing stoick in httyd 2.
and yes, i have seen the shows!! i watched riders/defenders of berk when it aired on cartoon network (and that’s the reason why i went back and watched the movie, because i did initially see it in the theater, but had forgotten all about it. thank u dreamworks dragons.) it took me a little while to see race to the edge bc i didn’t have netflix for the longest time, but binged the series as soon as i was able!! basically, i love the show. i love how it develops the friendships between the dragon riders and gives more depth on the individual riders who were more “background” characters in the first movie. i wish the later movies focused on them more, but hey, that’s what daydreaming and fanfiction is for!
(favorite show character? dagur. he’s so silly and chaotic. i need more of him)

so I'm bored watching someone playing poppy playtime ep 3 before I sleep and all I can say is that I hate how mascot horror just so often starts p strong and then quickly runs too far in the wrong direction with the way they present their settings and world building.
it's clear to me that the writers just kinda went "u know what'd be scary... if there were like... these carebear-like characters but one of them was EVIL and also there was a cartoon where the EVIL one killed ALL the other carebears... THAT'D BE REALLY SCARY"
and I'm sitting here like "ok it was plenty creepy without the cat randomly coming to the door and spewing red evil fart gas at them to kill them in this cartoon that was supposedly broadcast for children on TV"
like that's where this falls flat... even tho it's a factory/playhouse/whatever where large mascot creatures grow fangs and chase you, there should still be a level of believable realism... and the fact of the matter is that the opening cutscene came off more like happy tree friends (a cartoon definitely not made for kids lol) than a believable commercial for a toy product. there's no conceivable way you could convince me that this commercial/cartoon aired in this universe in a realistic fashion... no network would have played it lmao and that ruins the creep-factor.
like the mommy long legs commercial they did for part 2 was more believeable while still being uncanny and creepy... idg why they went so hard on the creepy cat bc imo the character designs for the smiling critters were equally believeable and creepy without the extra bs. like they were still cute while having that twinge of "offness" to them! I could believe that some corp would have produced those toys despite them being off putting... but the cat one... that just ruined it entirely lmao
they could have pulled back a bit on the commercial and made it less "in your face" that the cat one was EVILLLL by instead leaving some subtle hint in the commercial and then having the cat doll have weird sound bytes like the barney toys or elmo toys from the 90s that parents were convinced were saying satanic shit to their kids. they seemed to be doing that in the rest of the opening cutscene but by that point it lost it's creepiness bc like... you just showed the cartoon commercial where the cat one is clearly evil... no shit the doll is gonna be saying fucked up shit YOU BLEW YOUR LOAD TOO EARLY
but alas
I'm not even in this fandom or anything lmao I just enjoy yters like markiplier and jacksepticeye playing them as bg noise and passive consumption... but poppy playtime clearly has some thought and care put into its lore and gameplay so it's just frustrating to even passively consume lmao
inb4 "it's mascot horror what r u expecting it's for dumb kids"
I'm expecting ppl to stop writing stupid shit and then hiding behind the "but it's for kids" excuse BC THERE'S BLOOD AND GORE IN IT FIRST OF ALL LMAO but secondly, and more importantly, I think that's a lame, lazy, and unimaginative excuse. it's a way for writers to just be lazy and predicable. just bc kids aren't as "advanced" as adults as far as cognitive ability doesn't mean the media geared towards them should be as dumb as possible. kids deserve shit that's written well as much as anyone else imo
and tbh, poppy playtime rly does have a knack for character design and other lore/world building aspects, esp for the fake toys and their packaging. it's just frustrating to see these missteps and lack of subtlety when the rest could be really good

I mean. I knew Lily was ignorant and dumb but this hay’s code thing is another level. Alright gonna out myself, I’m a film major mostly in production and theory. Now the code was implemented in 1934 (though some say 1933). And it didn’t end (well there are debates as to whether we count the actual enforcement or the fact while the code existed but wasn’t enforced) until 1968. A 34-35 year not ten… 34-35 years of enforcement.
During that time there were directors who did sneaky things to fight back against the code. Have multiple kisses shorter than 3 seconds. Have suggestive imagery but blame the dirty thinking on the agent who saw the film to ensure the code was followed. And countless other examples. Not to mention the red scare also Played a BIG part of enforcement. The MPAA has done some things (like granting films with LGBT themes R ratings a rating with that excludes a lot of people) but it’s not as bad as the Hays Code who thought interracial love stories were a big no no, and in 1968 Star Trek had an interracial kiss that said F U to Jim Crow and Hays Code era thinking
my point was more going through the notion that even if it was "only 10" years that it was enforced, that's still a lot of movies, directors and creative people who saw all their hard work go to waste because it didn't meet some ridiculous criteria. for as many success stories you can count of people creatively managing to get around the hays code, there's as much if not way more stories of people and movies that never got made and no one saw. that's a tragedy, whether we're speaking 10 years, 5 years or the actual 30+ years that it was. a human being could have been born and die without ever seeing nothing else but hay's approved movies. it's a tragedy that something so simple and basic like a kiss between two people had to be revolutionary at all, it's disgusting that anyone ever said that two people shouldn't kiss because of racism. especially when we know that before that code existed, movies with queer people being queer already existed and they disappeared for 30+ years. some of them have been erased entirely. i don't understand how anyone can say that blaming the code hays or being mad about it is not only fair, but completely logical. it's not only deeply ignorant from her part to minimize the impact this had on cinema, but it's repugnant considering this is the same thing that LO always does: blame the individuals, never the institutions. the code hays was never implemented, but if it was then it wasn't a big deal and if it did it doesn't matter because these other movies came out, meaning that if your movie didn't it can only be your fault and not the people who enforced those absurd rules in the first place. it's not the fault of Disney that people are done with their "a person close to the production" always goes to the media to try to hype up movies around "our first ever gay character". it's the media, and the people who read that media, on the wrong because they just like to hate disney. it wasn't the fault of Disney's homophobia that TOH was cancelled, everyone just wants to hate Disney for no reason. it wasn't the fault of Netflix's tendencies of cutting queer shows short, the cancellation of First Kill was entirely because it was a "enemy to lovers" sapphic story. it wasn't the fault of Nickelodeon that the production of LOK was a mess, it was the writers and the people involved the only responsible because they should have known better, somehow. it wasn't the fault of Cartoon Network that SU went into hiatus more frequently than any other show at the time, no matter what the people who actually work for the company could say. it was the fault of Sugar for not magically knowing that a hiatus was coming and writing around it somehow. it's always the creative individual people who have the fault, not the companies who used them and disposes them whenever they please for whatever purpose. why do you think she doesn't speak about the big cut of HBO more? why do you think she isn't angry about how CN treated any other show that wasn't Teen Titans Go like utter trash? why is that when she wants to talk about WOW, she still talks far more about her white fantasy favourite female character being mistreated by a mere novelist writer than about the actual victims of harassment from the company?
because LO, for all her talk of being the only good leftist left, it's a capitalist anti-intellectual convenient tool whose true feelings will always have more in common with conservatives that she'd like to admit it.

Did you read or watch em all? It took forever for me to go back and read DB but in my defense, it wasn’t on Cartoon Network when I could watch it.
Or if you wanna crack open a surprisingly vitriolic topic: what is your stance on Bulma and Yamcha lmao
i watched them all!! there's a bunch of filler that i skipped like the stupid garlic jr arc and the other world tournament but ive seen a good 80% of it! at some point i'll go back and watch the rest of the dbz movies and filler cuz i wanna see goku and piccolo learn how to drive 🥴 and then the scene when goku fights caterpie and gets... well, y'know 🤫
BUT OK SO REGARDING BULMA AND YAMCHA (putting this under the cut because it turned into a doctorate essay)
Tumblr media
aight so boom
i want people to keep in mind that these two met as teenagers. they were still basically kids, they both dreamed of having the perfect boyfriend/girlfriend, and their chance meeting seemed like fate. right? well, one hard lesson u learn when you get to be my age 👵🏽 is that people change drastically from ages 16-21. you're discovering who you are, struggling with figuring out what you want in life, struggling with growing up and suddenly being an adult and not knowing wtf you're supposed to do. what happened to bulma and yamcha is something that happens to a lot of high school sweethearts.
they grew, and they grew apart.
realistically, i think this is what happened. yamcha got over his fear of women and gained some confidence in himself once he got comfortable being around bulma. he gained some fame as a martial artist and started interacting with other girls, maybe started to get along with them better than he did bulma and started to question if the two of them were really compatible.
bulma probably learned that she shouldn't just choose a guy just cuz he's attractive and for the sake of having a boyfriend. maybe she wanted something out of the relationship he couldn't give her. or maybe she realized she didn't actually like who he was, and had been blinded by her attraction to him.
there's a million hypothetical reasons why it didn't work out, but this much is true. bulma and yamcha's relationship was always kinda rocky. even in OGDB they were constantly fighting. i don't think yamcha necessarily "cheated" on her, but i think their problems came to a head at one point and things could've been interpreted that way. unhealthy relationships can get really messy, especially when you're a young adult, and ESPECIALLY if it's your first relationship.
i know there's that controversial Future Trunks line that people say was mistranslated ("Mother said he was unfaithful.") but even toriyama himself made a comment in an interview saying yamcha was a fuckboy lol. even though that was mostly said in jest.
me personally, i don't think he outright cheated. i imagine/headcanon that he probably did something dumb as fuck, and bulma interpreted it as cheating. or maybe he just simply couldn't commit the way he wanted to and that hurt her. either way, yamcha is still a stand-up guy, and i don't think it's fair to assassinate his character just to dunk on him with VegeBul. and this is coming from a VegeBul stan!! i mean, they were on friendly terms even after she had Vegeta's baby and married him! so clearly she still valued him as a friend. i don't think she would've invited him around if he was truly this horrible cheating bastard.

6: A song that makes you want to dance
we've been going through a fall out boy phase the past couple days LMAO. Not the Best song on the album imo [that would be Novacaine!] but this one's Soooo high energy & feels like u Gotta dance 2 it tbh!! -E-Chem
12: A song from your preteen years
OH LORD DO WE HAVE MEMORIES OF OUR PRETEEN YEARS. UHHHHH. HOLD ON DIWIAKASKXKCJFJ
OK SO THIS ONE'S LIKE IMPORTANT TO US TOO BSJSHSJXXJDKDJ we grew up watching Disney, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, and... A couple kiiiinda obscure-ish channels but not rly cuz they're linked to Nick & CN. Our fave channel was Boomerang, we had that shit on literallyyyyy almost 24/7. Only time we'd change it was to watch Nick GAS [Rip 😔] this song played during one of their bumpers for the old cartoon Jabberjaw. What's funny is Jabberjaw never fuckin aired when they'd play that bumper!! Like. It was just not apart of the lineup ever???? There'd be references to it in their other bumpers [along w other older Hanna-Barbera cartoons that also Never Aired back then, or did once in a blue moon] and we always found that weird, but. Anyways! Legit still one of our fave childhood songs it's so fun JFJDDJFJF
23: A song that you think everybody should listen to
Hmm... We have plenty of songs that remind us of our source, and canon, and our relationship/s to Harry, but this is one that comes to mind first. I'd say people should listen to it because it's also kinda important to us [there is a theme here I see lol] but also generally because it's good, personal associations aside!
That does remind me actually. We need to make Harry a playlist ASAP. -Empathy
24: A song by a band you wish were still together
youtube
Okay so. I am deranged about this song. It is My Song. It describes me as a Person. But besides that holY SHIT!!!!! THE UNICORNS WERE SO GOOD!!!!! Their music was so Sound and this song is so Deranged honorary I Love It . Very violent very Visceral [and Viscera] [and loud] [and discordant] [and—]
SPEAKING OF THE UNICORNS!!!!!!!! It was a tie between that one and this one:
Both very very good both very very brain scritchy!!!! Love love Love this band so much -Inland

what arr things u liked from the pilot?
Just the whole thing in general! I commented on the video with my opinions but here's a more in-depth description of my thoughts:
Sam sounds like JFK from Clone High and it's making me unintentionally wheeze loudly😂😂 I don't know if it's on purpose or accident but it's hilariously funny to hear come out of such a character often seen as serious and stern.
Commander Grizz's nails are so pretty! Who does them? Himself? (Maybe Juniper? My OC? It's something she would do but it feels impolite to insert your own thing.....)
Bruno's scream when he saw Cupid with the bomb package🤣🤣🤣🤣 Little bitch boi scream my beloved❤️
From what I gathered, the show will have the 80s-90s style of cartoons like on Cartoon Network but adult swim? Nice!
I swear Bruno's gonna scramble Sam's brain more and I think he slightly did by landing on him.
MR. BALLS!?!??!?🤣🤣🤣🤣
OH SHIT HE DEAD- Ghosty's side of the htf community is showing and I'm happy to see it!
As you read, I very much enjoyed it! I hope it gains as much notoriety as Helluva Boss, Hazbin Hotel and Lackadaisy! People deserve to get hyped and see the masterpiece in all of its glory!

Hey Cheloved did u have any shows u loved watching growing up?
growing up,,,,, i mean like if i think of shows i like in me youth there's like a bunch of chunks like
sitcom stuffs: the nanny, fresh prince of bel-air, home improvement, family matters
i dont fuck with it in modern times but before i was a teen i watched a lot of law and order stuffs
food network and history channel stuffs
cartoons prob would be ed edd n eddy mostly, and then other stuffs ive pass by on nickelodeon and cartoon network. didnt rlly touch disney channel that much
anything else im blanking on, most of the time as a kid id be watching tv stuffs late at night at my dad's place when folks were either in bed or (in my dad's case) at work. he never cared about me bein up late so id see mostly non-cartoon stuffs as the night (and into early morning) went on
when i got into my teens it was mostly the sitcoms, food network, and history channel stuff. when i hopped on netflix i binged all of mad men and then uhh idk what else i watched on it TV show-wise

i genuinely love finding people who work on cartoons that air on god on television being into stuff like homestuck (like some people on steven universe) or in your case fnaf not only is it fucking hilarious sometimes seeing small references and nods slipped into the work itself and Knowing when you see it but its also just fun seeing people who create stuff some kids in the future will hyperfixate over also being/having been in communities like this, the chain reaction of creation inspiring people to become creators themselves. i cant wait to see the show youre helping with/working on! im sure its going to be fantastic, im rooting for you!
WELL technically i've only worked on one TV show so far (unicorn warriors eternal will be on cartoon network, i believe?) the rest were HBO Max (Jellystone!) and Youtube shows, but i get what u mean either way kjdfhfg
since i'm just an animator and am not a storyboard artist or a designer, unfortunately i don't get the opportunity to put references in a lot of the time since i'm pretty far down the pipeline, buuuut if i'm remembering right i think i did colour some characters in crowd shots on Unicorn Warriors Eternal to reference undertale/deltarune characters KLDHJFG so there's that!
i remember sneaking a reference (via colouring) to some other show in when i worked on Jaiden animations too but i don't remember what it was, RIP my terrible memory

2 questions!! :D 1) how did u get into the whole yandere/obsessive lover stuff? and 2) what was ur inspo behind darknets because Jesus fuck. I LOVE IT BUT OH MY GOD???
Hii babes! Thank you so much for enjoying my story 🥰❤️❤️!
1. This is gonna sound really random and weird but I actually think my real yandere awakening & how I first got into that darker obsessive lover genre was when I was pretty young, I remember watching the show “Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends” ( I’m sure a lot of you have watched or heard of it, it played on Cartoon Network ) but there is this episode in specific called “Destination Imagination” and I swear it’s one the most yandere shit I’ve ever seen. The episode basically followed the main character, Frankie , who finds this toy box in an attic and when she opens it, she falls inside of it & discovers there’s a completely different world inside of it. The “creator” of this new mysterious world basically treats her like royalty but she eventually figures out she can’t leave & that he’s obsessed with her so he’s forcing her to stay with him & her friends eventually go look for her and try to help her escape. Anyways, after I watched that episode I was like “Wow, why did I kinda want her to stay trapped in there with him, that would be kinda interesting” 😭 I was a messed up kid but yeah anyways I think that was the first time I found out I’m really attracted to darker stories & especially darker “romance”.
2. My inspo for Darknets was actually taken from the movie “Eden” which is a story about a girl who gets kidnapped by a human trafficking ring. It’s a really dark and triggering movie but if you watch it, there’s some similarities between it and my fic, I took a lot of inspiration from it. A dream I had also inspired the fic! I dreamt of the vendetta mask and I actually dreamt of an exact scene that I wrote in it ( the scene where the MC wakes up and sees Jungkoook’s room filled with footage of her/ pictures and maps. )
Thank you again so much! I hope you have a lovely day :) ❤️

So today, it's cartoon posting AND triple cartoon review! During this month I've watched a couple of series that I will leave my thoughts on as I do when cartoon posting happens, and I'm planning 2 watch more soon as I find more content to watch so expect more!
those series, today, are:
The Ghost and Molly McGee:
Tumblr media
Maya and the Three:
Tumblr media
and Metal Family:
Tumblr media
before you continue, these reviews contain spoilers of each series, so if u wanna go completely blind, go check them out before reading this! TLDR they're all great and I recommend them.
Spoilers ahead!
The Ghost and Molly McGee:
Tumblr media
This one was pretty much felt like a refresh from the deep and dark plots like Elliot from Earth did in Cartoon Network, just it's Disney this time.
It's about a girl named Molly McGee who, instead of being cursed by Scratch the ghost, accidentaly makes her curse him instead, so, Scratch, who just wanted to live alone and scare people to stay alive in his ghost world, has to stay forever with Molly unless she leaves the house she just has moved on permanently. Molly wants to make friends and bring happiness to her new town, Scratch doesn't give a shit and just wants to eat and scare people for his own benefit.
First things first, the series animation is VERY good, it's puppet/rigged animation, but it's smooth, well made, fluid and expressive, also the juxtaposition of Molly being quite saturated over the opaque, grayer town it's a nice detail.
From the characters themselves I really liked Molly and Scratch's dynamic, and how he's slowly getting softer and more caring thanks to Molly and yes how he's also self aware. I like most characters, Libby and her friendship with Molly, Molly's parents and her brother, Molly's grandma... tho I dislike Andrea, and all the obsessed TOH fans calling it a Lumity moment with her and Molly, bitch she literally bullies and outcasts people into saying her name right which it isn't even right on the first place, why it should matter?!
Anyway, I wanna see how the plot progresses, if more people are going to know about Scratch, it just hooked me up! I really liked it and I think you will too!
Maya and the Three:
Tumblr media
As you can see from the pic, ASTOUNDING TOP TIER visuals, Jorge Gutierrez exceds himself again, just like in The Book of life.
Anyway, aside from that, this about Maya who is meant to be the princess of Teca, but like her brothers, her father and once her mother, she wants to be a warrior instead, and be part of a certain profecy that is meant to fight and end with the monsters from the underworld who are at war with humans in the overworld.
Because this looks so astoundingly polished, fluid and also it's 3D animation, many people (myself included) thought it was a movie and it was going to be, well, another Brave kind of deal. It's not. It is really not, this is more well constructed and darker, tho Maya was kind of a brat sometimes but I think that's part of the whole point with her and well, her story.
I really liked the characters and their stories, tho Jorge Guiterrez gets kinda same-y with his female protagonists and ESPECIALLY children, all character design is GORGEOUS! The many details, the twisted remarkable Guiterrez style twists and the exagerated shapes on the characters... it's just really good and I especially liked the setting, colors and the many MANY influence of ancient mesoamerican cultures, and being one of the first series having this theme, it really, really did justice, if it wins a prize or whatever for visual development it deserves it.
Story telling wise, it was cool and interesting, some parts went too fast and not knowing what's going on, but everything else was fine, I just was annoyed I didn't really see how Maya and Zatz got finally together after winking many times and each other, I was like wait what they're together now? sheeeesh! And also I counted a total of 7 pairings in 9 episodes, all straight, damn, that amount of romance.
But on and all it's good, I really liked it, go give it a watch!
Metal Family:
Tumblr media
This one's more obscure and it's a Youtube series as well, but it should be more popular like Hazbin Hotel is. The premise is simple at first, it's a Russian webseries about a family that like's metal, like it says in the title! It follows the life of Glam, Victoria, Dee and Heavy, the members of the family, all with different stories, personalities and intentions.
Animation? It's made with flash and so it can look cheap, but it's no doubt the animators really worked hard on it, it looks smooth, expressive and fluid! very good!
The character design is also good, and they did a great job of not making the kids just look like a combination of their parents. More on that, LOVE their dynamic! The smartness and uncanniness of Glam, the loud and strong traits of Vicky, and how it passed to both of their sons, who are their own people in the end.
Scenery and storytelling sometimes gets uninteresting and slow on the first episodes and well voice acting was a lil weird sometimes, but later on, on the final episodes of the first season, storytelling and voiceacting PEAKED, (a bit of a warning before continuing, this part of the series might contain dark themes like abuse, so, you're adviced!) it almost made me cry, thank god Glam left his abusive ass father and is with the Metal Family now, as he said himself, "I chose a family, one without you." It's probably cuz the budget of the series got bigger and bigger as it got more popular, but it's well deserved.
I watched the official English dub as I know very little Russian, and it was great as well! Both the Russian original and English dub sound amazing.
And I really like how the Metal Family series did an animated Q&A with each of the family members and how they changed lipsync on the english version to fit, that was really cool!
Overall, recommend it 100%, very very good, check it out!

hey so I was just thinking about this but you know how in season 1 garmadon is staying with the ninja bc of Lloyd? And he keeps everyone up with his powers in that one episode? Can you write where Kai gets annoyed so he eventually comes into readers room and tells them what happened and they’re just teasing me the whole time but yeah it’s just a whole lot of teasing and fluff?? I feel bad for asking for another kai centric post bc you’ve been getting so many of them😅 and idek if u like him
No no, don't feel bad for asking for another Kai fic!! I had a crush on him when I was little and the show was just airing on Cartoon Network lol. After revisiting the series, my love for the show came back and I'm spreading out and liking more characters now, it's great!
I hope you don't mind that 1) reader is a Garmadon, and 2) Kai is not dating (Y/N) (yet) and that's why Garmadon is targeting him the most lol
Exhaustion of People and Body
Where Kai just really needs a break from Garmadon.
It was bad enough that Garmadon was evil. It was even worse so that he was living with them. Worst of all was that he was constantly trying to antagonize him and the other ninja, all so he could cry about it to his brother, who would scold them. But did he really have to do this? Bedtime was a sacred time where Kai could get all his needed rest and let his body heal for tomorrow morning.
"Do you have to do that? We're trying to sleep!" He yells at him while he's practicing his strange...whatever electricity magic he had going on. One glance around the room at the others' annoyed expressions told him he wasn't the only one sick of Garmadon. He wasn't even being evil right now, just obnoxious. He lets out a grunt of frustration, putting a pillow over his head so he could try and block out the noise, but Garmadon's laughter just made things worse.
He wanted to absolutely pummel the guy, but he'd just get severely punished, and he didn't want that, so he decided to leave and go sleep somewhere else. Where better than the couch? It was on the other side of The Bounty, and across from yours and Lloyd's room, far away from Garmadon and his loud magic. Space was tight, so you had to share a room with your little brother. Neither of you minded, though, you were close siblings, like he and Nya.
He was actually surprised to see you awake on the couch, playing music on your keyboard and singing along. It wasn't anything he'd heard before, so you must've made it up yourself. You did say you wanted to be a famous singer when you grew up, but unfortunately being the kid of Lord Garmadon meant no one wanted to support you, even though you were much kinder than him, and even compared to your brother you were a sweetheart.
"Hey, (Y/N), why are you up so late?" He asks.
You giggle, "I inherited my father's nocturnal activity, of course I'm going to be awake. Haven't you ever wondered why I always wake up at noon?"
"Oh, I haven't really noticed or thought about it." He chuckles sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head.
"So, why are you up, huh bed head?" You tease, pointing out his scruffy hair from tossing and turning.
"Hey!" He pouts, trying to fix it into his typical style, "I dunno...it's just...your dad he's..."
"Antagonizing you again?" You grin, and chuckle when he nods. "Come on," you scoot over and pat the empty seat next to you for him to sit, "you know he bothers you because you're close to me, right? You're like my best friend." Well that stung.
He shrugs, "well, of course I notice when he bothers me, or the others when we're in a group, but I didn't know he bothered me more than them..." He then groans loudly and flops back against the couch.
"Hmm, maybe I can talk to him for you. I'm his first baby, he'll listen to anything I say." You put a cute face and stick your tongue out playfully.
He grins, "maybe."
"So, what was he even up to?" You ask, tilting your head in a way Kai found cute.
"Oh, the usual. Being annoying." He huffs, then sighs and scoots closer to you, so he could lean against your arm. "He's using his powers while the rest of us are trying to sleep, and it's loud and it's keeping us up." He sits up a little so he can turn his body and face you, "how come he doesn't think I'm good enough for you?" He catches himself and fixes his sentence, "I'm a good friend, right?"
"Oh, gee, Kai, I don't know." You held up your hand, counting on your fingers, "you hung my brother up on a sign when you first met him, you gave me a black eye when I tried to help him down, you and the other ninja were especially rude to us when we first came to live with Uncle Wu-"
"Hey, in my defense, you should've been trying to keep Lloyd from doing bad things like a good older sibling." He interrupts.
"Wow, wow, wow, Kai." You hold up another finger, "calling me a bad sibling for taking care of my little brother and letting him do what he wants in order to be happy because without me he would've been starving on the streets? Tsk tsk." You shake your head, then continue your list, "you called me names, pushed me a lot, and you were generally really mean to me the most."
"But I stopped doing that! And now look at us? Best friends!" He grins awkwardly, trying to turn the situation around. "So maybe I was mean to you the first week you were here? I thought you were cool and actually nice and stuff...and now we've been friends for a whole month almost!"
"Sure, hotshot." You tease, flicking his forehead.
"Come on, (Y/N)!" He whines, rubbing the spot, "I'm a good guy! You've changed me, I promise!"
You continue messing with him, "hmm, actually I think Zane should be my new best friend, he didn't judge me as much as the rest of you..." you put your hand to your chin in mock thought.
You know you've pushed too many buttons when instead of getting a flustered and pouting Kai, you get the one who takes control of the situation. You suddenly find yourself under him, as he pins you down by your left shoulder and right wrist, keeping that hand off your chin. "You're my best friend, and as my best friend, I advise you to stop taunting me."
You swallow thickly, having only two choices now. Well, you did have your father's recklessness. "Why should I?"
There's a moment, where now Kai has to make his choice. You watch him furrow his eyebrows before he leans down and kisses you roughly, careful not to lower his head too fast so he doesn't hit your nose against his or bump foreheads. He only stops when he hears you sniffle. "(Y/N)?" All tension between you now lost, as he uses a soft tone of voice to ask if you're okay. "I didn't hurt you, did I? Did I read the situation wrong?"
You shake your head, "no, no Kai, you didn't." You take a moment to wipe a few tears away before continuing, "it's just that I've spent my whole life listening to people either be scared of me because of my heritage, or angry at me for what my father does. I never...I never thought that anyone would ever love me."
"Oh, (Y/N)," he gets off you and helps you sit up, so he could wrap his arms around you properly. "Of course people would love you. Even if I wasn't here, there would be someone out there, or even multiple people out there who would see past those things your father did, to see things that you did, or even what you are doing! I mean, your music is incredible, someday you'll be famous, for all the right reasons." He holds your head against his chest so you could listen to his calming heartbeat as he spoke, and you ended up gripping his pajamas tightly.
After comprehending what he said, and calming down, you sigh the last of your tears away, "I've needed a nice hug like this. Not even Lloyd gives me enough of them." You try to pass off the depressing sentence with a chuckle, but it doesn't work as well as you think it does.
"Well, I'm here now, and I'm willing to give you all the hugs you need." He kisses the top of your head, and gives you an extra tight squeeze. "Does that feel better?" He asks, and you nod.
Another few moments of cuddling later, you sigh and get off him, "come on, you look so exhausted." You stand up and help him off the couch. "If you don't want to go to your room, I guess you can sleep in my bed with me."
"What about the couch?"
You shake your head, "my dad will strangle you if he sees us there, it's better to go to my room and sleep in there, since he doesn't go in. You should leave a pretend note though, in case you over sleep and people try to look for you."
He thinks it over, then nods, writing something quick about going out for some clothes before posting it to the fridge and then heading to your room with you, hand in hand.
Lloyd woke up from the light coming into your shared room, and looked at the two of you. "What's Kai doing here?"
"Nightmare." You answer before he can even open his mouth. "Now don't tell dad, okay?"
"What do I get out of it?"
"Uhh, I dunno, I'll make you something from the kitchen, like a big sundae." You shrug.
"Sure, whatever." He groans and rolls over.
"Thanks, Garma-jr." You wink, although he can't see it. But Kai can, and wonders where the nickname came from.
"Don't call me that!" You can hear him pout as he pulls the blanket over his head.
You decide to explain it a little, "dad has a...weird taste in names. Good thing Mom decided she didn't like it." You snort. You get under the covers, and hold them up for Kai to get under as well. He scoots close to you, and wraps his lower arm beneath your neck, the other draped over your rib cage so he could hold you close, while your arms went around his stomach. You tangled your legs together comfortably, and tried to get some sleep. "I love you, Kai."
He grins lazily, eyes already closed and too heavy to open again. "I love you just as much, (Y/N)."
Before either of you can drift off, you hear Lloyd complain, "if you don't give me a new Starfarer comic, I'm telling dad you're dating (Y/N)!"

could u explain what u dont like about the new ppg show ? i always like hearing ur thoughts on things
Where to begin?
I haven't liked the premise since the get-go. To begin with, the idea that "superheroes but jaded and cynical" isn't revolutionary anymore, it's overdone. It would subvert expectations more to tell a story that's not like that. The days when all superhero stories were bright, colorful, and hopeful stories is long since done. Between Nolan's Batman trilogy, Watchmen, and The Umbrella Academy, we have enough of "superheroes once had hope but now are jaded and messed up adults" to last us a lifetime. Side note, but The Umbrella Academy also did "former child superheroes are now messed up adults" too, so even that aspect isn't unique to this Powerpuff Girls live-action show. If anything, it's like The CW saw the success of The Umbrella Academy and wanted to take their own shot at it, and they just decided to mess up an existing franchise rather than a.) find a comic series already doing something like that, or b.) create something entirely original and actually take a risk. Riverdale just isn't cutting it for them anymore, I guess.
To that end, the entire idea of taking Powerpuff Girls and making it cynical, jaded, and making the Girls complete messes as adults is the complete antithesis of everything the original show was. I'm not saying that you can't ever stray away from the source material when making an adaptation, nor am I saying that they can't handle mature themes with the Girls as adults (or teenagers if they had decided to go that route). Given the difficulties with finding good child actors, plus the difficulties with those actors aging even if the characters themselves don't, I completely understand why they wanted to age the characters up (especially since the primary audience for The CW is teenagers, so giving them older characters to relate to is probably for the best). But you can do that without ruining the central ideas that the original show had, which were that these Girls are superheroines who love being superheroines, whose town loves them back, who have a loving father who does everything for them, who sometimes make mistakes and need to find their own way through things but ultimately are positive figures and role models for girls everywhere. These Girls loved each other, loved their family, their town, loved their roles as superheroes, loved their friends, and that love was always what saved the day. And sure, sometimes the show could be campy and cheesy, but this was a superhero show with anthropomorphic creatures as villains and, well, kindergarten aged superheroines. It didn't need to be realistic and gritty, that's not ever what it was about.
So to know that the show was always going to mangle these characters and the themes of the original for something that is honestly trite and overdone left a bad taste in my mouth even before I saw the bits of the pilot script that were leaked. But seeing what was leaked, what do I hate about it? Well:
I hate that only Buttercup was cast as black when she is known as being "the toughest fighter" and therefore the most aggressive and violent of the three, since that's a racist stereotype of black women (see: the angry black woman). I also hate that she's not only queer, but also hyper-sexualized in her queerness as well, since that goes into more racist and also homophobic stereotypes (both in that she's hypersexual and also that she's the least feminine and most aggressive, so CLEARLY she's a lesbian, am I right?)
I hate that Buttercup threatens sexual assault against Blossom (leaking her nudes) to wake her up.
I hate that Bubbles is apparently a cocaine addict, or was one at some point.
I hate that Buttercup uses "triggered" with air quotes and is apparently some kind of anti-SJW caricature.
I hate that Professor Utonium is portrayed as an abusive father when he loved those Girls more than his own life in the original and, as stated, did EVERYTHING for them.
I hate that there's a whole scene where the Girls talk about his sex life.
I hate that Ms. Bellum is reduced to just being the Professor's abused girlfriend.
I hate everything that was done with Mojo Jojo, both in how he was split into two human characters and how apparently he created Chemical X but the Professor took credit for his work.
I hate that this adaptation made Professor Utonium into an abusive father, abusive boyfriend, and hack scientist who steals the work of others and then cast a black man to play him.
I hate that Blossom apparently killed Mojo and that's why the Girls are exiled from Townsville (or at least not able to use their powers there or something).
I hate that the Rowdyruffs are apparently in this mess somehow (Butch is mentioned at one point in the script as hating Bubbles).
I hate that they belittle the cartoon as being something terrible in this pilot by having Bubbles say that the Professor "sold their rights" to make the cartoon that "whitewashed" them (I get that she's trying to say it made their image look more pure, but considering the actress is literally white, her claiming to be "whitewashed" is fucking hysterical and just goes to show that the writers are trying to use social justice language without having a single idea of what it means). Basically, "the cartoon sucks, our show is better" when that couldn't be FARTHER from the truth.
I could go on. I always knew I was going to hate this show but the racism, the homophobia, and the complete degradation of everything the original show stood for is so much worse than I could have imagined. I thought we couldn't sink lower than the rebooted cartoon on Cartoon Network, but boy, was I wrong. Apparently they are retooling the pilot, but given that they said their reason for doing so was that it was "too campy and not grounded in reality" my hopes still remain in Hell (where they were originally but yet somehow it still ended up worse than I could have thought). All I can say is that I hope this trainwreck gets canceled before it ever airs. I doubt that will happen, but that's what I'm hoping for anyway.
