U still doing rbb headcanons? If you are, can you do some updated host headcanons (bc they are prob outdated since s3) or just terabrite headcanons please 🙏 🥺(I need more rbb content istg ) ( I am not mentally well /j)
Hello yes I do in fact have RBB headcanons for you :3
I'm going to have to put this under a read more as it's a lot (and it's mainly ramblings about powerset headcanons bc I have THOUGHTS on that) so strap in.
Hosts in general:
The hosts, who were originally human, basically got ‘blessed’ / ‘cursed’ (depending on how you see it) by their respective concepts and now both represent / are possessed by / basically are those concepts. They each have differing opinions on what happened but one thing’s for sure - they’re now wielders of Agility, Healing and Truth respectively
Each of the hosts have 3 different types of powers, with a different spread for each, and these powers often correspond to the powers of their weapons:
Powers that act on themselves
Powers that act on others
Area of effect powers
Some of these powers are passive (unconscious, happens all of / most of the time) but most are active (requires conscious activation)
They can use their powers without their respective objects, but it is a lot more effective if they do use em
They get funky particle effects when they use their power (as well as their hair and eyes glowing, especially with overusage - they've still got human bodies, so they do have their limits!)
If the sword gets cracked they get physical ‘cracks’ on their skin (same with the instruments, probably?)
Though really the instruments only got powered up as a response to their gaining powers, as opposed to the swords giving them the powers
They can fuse their swords giving one of them combo abilities/moves while the other temporarily loses their abilities
I haven’t really thought of these combo moves yet, but I think DJ and Russo would give some level of super-intelligence, DJ and Sabrina could do rapid healing and perhaps even evolution / power boosts?
They tend to avoid doing this as it’s very disorientating for the host that loses their powers and exhausting for the host that gains one and let the Battler wield/fuse the decoy swords (see my old headcanons for an explanation on that) instead. It only happens if one of the hosts is compromised and it’s an emergency.
Yes they did make the megasword yes it went poorly for all involved (they can wield concepts, but their bodies can barely wield one, let alone 3…)
They’ve got a ‘Power Trio’ dynamic, following the expected roles (with some subversions)
DJ acts as one extreme: he’s the Superego / the Blue Oni / the pessimistic one
Sabrina acts as the middle ground: she’s the Ego / the Purple Oni / the reasonable one
Russo acts as the other extreme: he’s the Id / the Red Oni. / the optimistic one
Atypically however, DJ despite being the Blue Oni is more suited for combat whereas Russo as the Red Oni is more suited for intelligence
This sliding scale of intensity comes up a lot for them, with Sabrina almost always being in the middle with DJ and Russo being two extremes
S3 Specific:
This one differs depending on people so I’ll say it anyway: Russo and the clone in S3 (Recoded) are different people, Russo took the clone’s place at the end of the FB
Sneaky self promo, that was all explored in the GOSSIP animatic
Originally JP wanted to kidnap and replace Sabrina for Maximum Angst Power (bc DJ would’ve probably lost it if his wife went missing or started acting odd) but their clone of Sabrina (the Great Woman) failed and went berserk, so since Recoded worked they kidnapped Russo instead
They’re actually quite lucky they kidnapped Russo over Sabrina, because if Russo was in a similar situation to DJ and Sabrina during S3, he would’ve just walked right up to ‘Sabrina’ before ‘she’ could ‘go missing’ and proceed to use his powers on ‘her’
This actually happened in the Swap AU with DJ in Russo’s place
DJ Monopoli:
Passively has super-speed, super strength and super endurance (sword), actively can hover just a tiny bit off the ground (dynamic dashers)
He can also absorb / give energy out to others, either making them tired or giving them a boost in energy
He doesn’t have an area of effect power,,,but we’ll see if/what S4 gives him (I’ve seen people suggest portals so?? Maybe those??)
His powers tend to take the form of green electricity, which he can use to his advantage
This isn’t set in stone yet, but I’ve been toying with the idea of DJ having robotic legs, because constantly moving at superhuman speeds while still having human legs is kind of rough on said legs
(Don’t worry, he’s not the only member of the RBB cast who has replaced their legs.)
The easiest to get angry out of the hosts
Isn’t as good at getting his point across than the other two, so is willing to over explain things so people get what he means
The Fighter, and will usually be the one to attack any threats and do the physical combat, as well as acting as security if there are no current eminent threats.
This is how he ended up forced to dance by Albert when Albert broke into the studio during S2 - he was the first wall Albert had to break through, and Albert used most of his power on him
If he’s not with the other two doing Host Things, he’s probably in the music studio doing…music things
Also the most fashionable of the hosts, surprisingly enough. His wardrobe is filled with suits and he has little to no casual clothing.
Sabrina:
Passively heals herself over time and can actively heal others wounds (from the sword)
Can also actively reverse said healing by opening old wounds (or just straight up attacking them, but that’s booooring. this is from the cyber shredder), or can use her powers to act as a painkiller / soothing mechanism
She can make a ‘healing dome’ where everyone in the area heals just a little bit quicker / is soothed
Her powers tend to take the form of purple plus-shaped particles
The Mage, the healer and planner of the group, but she would much rather be out there fighting monsters and doing the tough stuff
She’s still a really good fighter because of the fact that you can’t easily make a dent on her, she’ll just heal herself up
She’ll drop everything to make sure someone is safe and uninjured, but she’ll be mad about it! And will endlessly lecture the injured party because “STOP TRYING TO ATTACK THE ROBOTS WITHOUT ANY WEAPONS”
Strangely enough, is the scariest out of the hosts. No one knows how she pulls this off, but she just does
(It’s probably because her powers relate to people’s general wellbeing…whether that’s good or bad.)
The most paranoid, and the quickest to panic over something going wrong. She does her best to stay positive in the face of change, but she shows her weaknesses now and then
If you look at her you’d think she listens to lofi and pop. Nope, heavy metal
Somehow still doesn’t know the Great Woman exists
Russo:
Passively has Truth Detection (different to lie detection - he can’t tell if you’re lying without actively using his powers on you, but he can always tell if you’re telling the truth), and can understand all languages
Battle Life SMP readers - that last one will be relevant soon!
Actively has Lie Detection, limited mind reading and mind control - said control is more effective over robots (hence, Robotic Resonators), but he can do it on people. It takes a lot out of him if he does though, even if he is using his Resonators
Area of effect power being able to reveal/see anything hidden in a room (sword)
His powers take the form of blue ‘dot’ particles as well as anyone under his power’s effect eyes turning blue
The Thief, the one who works in intelligence. He can’t stand for himself on a battle field, he’s extremely physically weak - but he’s very good with people, and even better at interrogating them / getting information he needs out of people
Simultaneously a mom friend and the stupid one
Theatre kid
Can accidentally be a little bit too positive, and is (ironically) prone to ignoring the darkness of a situation at times
If he does realise a situation is dire though, he will get serious fast.
You don’t want to see Russo when he’s angry.
A little self conscious, but he’s better at dealing with it than some people (cough cough Kreek cough cough)
Has referred to the RBB participants as his kids. No one will ever let him live it down (and it’s not like Russo wants them to, they are his kids thanks very much)
He’s quite self conscious about the whole ‘getting kidnapped during S3’ thing. He blames himself for it and is overly apologetic about it, despite none of it being his fault
Enjoy :3

Outside of Lee Seolhwa and Lee Sookyung, do you have plans for any other character outside of Kim Dokja’s primary companions (like Gong Pildu or Han Doonghoon) for your soulmate fanfiction? Constellations like Persephone or Uriel or Sun Wukong probably wouldn’t make sense to exist in real life but maybe characters such as Han Myungoh/Han Dareum or Jang Hayoung could fit? If I recall correctly, Jang Hayoung in particular is the one responsible for the title of the fanfiction, right? I feel like she alongside the Unidentifiable Wall and the Fourth Wall would be so thematically appropriate but I couldn’t imagine how you would do it if at all. I also want to say that I’m impressed how you managed to seamlessly incorporate so many references to the original ORV into your work. It must have required you to reread and recheck the wiki.
Yess, I'm glad you asked this anon bc literally I just threw in a little reference to Han Doonghoon and Lee Sungkook in the 4.4 update and got worried people would think they had to remember the characters well to understand the surrounding plot point better than Kim Dokja does. But I think I should trust the reader a bit more lol.
Unfortunately my inclusion of Aileen and Jang Hayoung isn't going to be as big as the other kdjco members, but they're sort of already set up in the fic and have a role in chap 5. I think JHY doesn't appear directly bc to me the relationship between her and KDJ is harder to make 'real,' though I have some ideas depending on how much I decide to include in chap 5. In my plans 5 will have a gaming tourney featured, so other big 'wos players' may be referenced further there as well.
Of course like you mention the fic title and many of the chapter titles are coming directly from the mouth of Jang Hayoung, so in that way she is constantly being referenced, haha.
Han Myungoh and his daughter are referenced earlier in Chapter 4. It's sort of a drive by.
I do make use of the wiki (bless the editorsn🙏), though mostly just to check dates, numbers, and spellings of names. I like to think of myself as someone with a pretty decent memory tho, so a lot of the more specific story references are definitely just me pulling in stuff I remember from my novel read throughs. Like I might have to look at the wiki to remember Han Dareum's name, but I'll never forget Han Myungoh's entire Male Pregnancy that he had like that was a crazy random W to me on my first ORV read through I was like hello??? Also that being around when JHY was being confirmed trans haha. I think I was only out for like a year or so before reading orv so the little gender fucky moments really stuck out to me.
Sometimes rereading my old work I also remember things I forgot happened in ORV. I think part of the reason I'm struggling so much with chap 4 and onward is that now that the wall fic characters have sort of developed to where they are some of the scenes I had in mind are less 1 to 1 with the OG. For instance, I'm trying to rewrite a scene I have of YJH and KDJ having a rooftop chat that like parallels the one back before the seoul's strongest incarnation arc in the novel, but it's a bit difficult. At first I wanted to include a lot more of KDJ interacting with the rest of YJH's team, but the rooftop Scene makes more sense to put a cap on the themes explored in chap 4. But when I first wrote this scene it was less specifically addressing that theme, because it was in the outline of like right after I wrote chapter 1, so it was kind of just the OG ORV scene with the flavoring of my AU on top. A lot of the little things they do and say in the OG novel would have to be quite finagled to fit anymore, so reworking it is the big task rn.
Anyway I'm really appreciative of people like you who take note of these small details <3. it's kind of helping me remember and appreciate a lot of the parts of me that were behind a lot of Wall fic originally if that makes sense? I am like reintroducing myself to him and giving him a hug instead of running away cringing just because it's me lol.

5, 18 & 19 for the fanfic ask!
Hello and thank you for the questions!!
5. first sentence of the fifth paragraph of an unpublished WIP
“I have to say, Blanche,” Rose says, settling back against Blanche’s side, “I know you explained it to me, but I still don’t get it.”
18. if you keep them, share a deleted sentence or paragraph from a published fic
I don't really keep deleted sentences/paragraphs, unless they're full concepts for a scene that I might want to use in another WIP, but I did find a couple of sentences from an early draft of i would have said impossible [...] that got heavily edited by the final cut. I'll bold the parts that got kept in the final work:
"She likes to think she hid it well. She tried to, at least; bit back the most acidic jokes, tried to keep a hold on her sarcasm. It's not her roommates' fault if she's had a bad day, is it? So she tries. She listens, and she's patient, and she's affectionate -- and they seem happy. That must count as a success.
And yet, when she's finally alone in her room and ready to call it a night -- then Rose comes, carrying tea and cookies on a tray.
It's strange. She told Ma earlier that she'd like to be alone tonight, and before the door opened she only wanted to get into bed and forget everything until tomorrow morning. Then Rose came in, and she'd be lying if she said a single hint of her perfume and a single glance at her reassuring smile aren't enough to calm her nerves."
The gist of the passage remained more or less the same, but I hope it counts anyway!
19. the most interesting topic you’ve researched for a fic
I'm not sure I can choose the most interesting one -- I love learning and I've had a lot of fun with every rabbit hole I've found myself in for a fic! The most charming one, though, was definitely the little ornithology detour I went on while I was writing sonata for trio, which was a classic case of 'I only needed to find the right simile to add in this sentence, how the hell did I end up on the Wikipedia page for the American Robin?'. I learned a lot, and birds are so cute -- especially robins!! I had a great time reading about them :)
(I'm not counting my research on karst and sinkholes as a valid answer for this questions, because I already knew the topic well enough, but I did spend a lot of time fact-checking what I wrote. I don't want to spread misinformation!)

Do you agree w/ the fandom interpretation that john was so homophobic he’d have beaten up and abandoned his sons for being gay? Cause sure, he grew up in the 60s as a mechanic and then later became a marine during the vietnam war, but i also don’t think homophobia would’ve necessarily been a priority for him? Like obviously he’s not gonna be the full on supportive and politically correct loving dad, but i think that the fandom’s general opinion on that is pretty warped by people’s relationships w/ their own fathers
I do think this is one place where people tend to project. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that; working out our issues through fiction is healthy and good! I don’t think there’s any canon proof of it beyond, as you said, him being a marine from the sixties who would probably not be super knowledgeable about being queer, maybe a little apprehensive about it from what he’s absorbed through the culture he grew up in. I think we’d be correct to point out that if Sam or Dean were queer, he might be uncomfortable about it, he might try to avoid the topic, which is in of itself hurtful.
The thing about me is: I fully disagree that John was ever physically abusive towards his kids. At most, I will bend this interpretation to say he was probably too harsh on them while teaching them to fight and that maybe he and Sam have traded blows before when arguments got too loud (by blows, I mean, probably shoving with the yelling, you know, assertion of physical space. It seems realistic to me that two people who have been using violence for a long time to protect themselves, and for John, his family, down to the hierarchal power he’s put in place of him -> Dean -> Sam, would resort to it when things got too heated.)
(I also think that sometimes fandom’s insistence that John had to be physically abusive can sometimes get a little insulting because it perpetuates the idea that emotional abuse does less harm and can be overlooked and for flattening out John’s character in a way the show very literally pointed to and said He Did Not Do That. This is the entire point of Max’s episode in s1, for the show to point out that their experiences of abuse were different. How well it was handled is arguable, but I take it as clear evidence that when we talk about John’s relationship with his sons, the focus should be on the emotional abuse, the codependency he developed with Dean from a very young age, his neglect of them both, his attempts to suppress Sam, etc. And I appreciate this about the show, because you can’t talk about any of those things without also talking about why they’re happening, why John thinks this is necessary, how he loves his sons and isolates them to protect them and ends up doing more and more damage that will never leave them through their entire lives.
I’m sure there’s depictions of John being physically abusive that handle it with the same amount of nuance that the show handles him being emotionally abusive in canon. I have not seen them, unfortunately. I’ve seen John being physically abusive 90% of the time just being used as shorthand for him being Bad and Evil and A Terrible Father. Which does not interest me. So I will remain here as a staunch defender of He Would Not Fucking Hit His Kids.)
Sorry, okay, we got off topic there this is about gay shit.
The point of All Of That was for me to be able to say, John’s not going to react to his sons being queer by beating them. He’s definitely not going to abandon them. Hello? John Winchester? Abandon his kids? John Winchester, the guy who has been keeping them in warded up motel rooms their whole lives and moving them across the country out of paranoia the demon who killed his wife could find them if they say anywhere too long? John Winchester who only trusted one or two people to ever look after his sons when he went on a hunting trip too long? We think that John would ditch his kid because they’re queer???
Like I said, I think the most realistic reaction for John, (if not just flat out him going ‘that’s fine, now load this gun while I time you because that’s more important for me to know that you can do’, because. He kind of has bigger priorities to worry about here. Like werewolves.) would be discomfort and pushing it out of his view, ignoring it. Which would still fucking hurt! And would have horrible effects on Sam and Dean both, would encourage Dean to repress it if he thinks his dad is ashamed of him, would push Sam away if he trusts John with this fact about himself and can’t be accepted easily.
I just think this is truer to John’s character.
Anyway. If nothing else here persuades anyone reading that John Would Not Fucking Do That, well. He thought his kid was demonspawn, remember? He thought Sam was corrupted and might not be able to be saved. I don’t think you can get more clear queercoding than that, and you know what John’s very telling response was to that information, to finding out something a thousand times more terrifying than Sam being gay ever could be? To refuse to look at it. To insist to himself that whatever Hell wanted with Sam, he wouldn’t let it happen. To tell Dean to take care of it, because even when John is certain that his son might literally become a demon, he could never bring himself to pull the trigger on him. Because he loves Sam.
So like. He literally would not do anything for the much smaller realization that Sam is gay. His son has demon blood that might turn him super evil, and John still wouldn’t hurt him.
I guess what I’m trying to say here is, I try to keep the fact that John loved his sons at the forefront of my mind when I’m writing stuff about him, because I think if you let that slide out of your head, you can very easily make him much worse, much more flat than he was in canon. The real picture of him is just an extremely flawed man in a terrible situation who fucks up his kids as much as he protects them.
And also he wouldn’t care about them being gay because JohnAzazel real and true and they fucked sloppy in that hospital basement-

I finally got out my laptop again and pulled what I had written previously for my Youngest Leo Au, and so I can finally just copy and paste what I had written about the turtles dynamics/personalities once they were back with Splinter. (@sonderquill this is for you, I knew i had stuff about it written on my laptop and why I took forever to actually that part of your question)
For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, here's a link to the post describing my Youngest Leo au (which is also just my own iteration of the tmnt) and a lot of the back ground for the au.
TLDR (but really check out the other post for a lot more detail) is that, when the turtles were little (like 7 or 9ish years old), they got taken in by shredder, who they thought was a friend of splinter. Shredder wasn't always super nice to them and got even worse after shredder thought he had finished Splinter off. Mikey is the oldest, but doesn't focus well, so Shredder dismisses him as stupid. Raph is next oldest, but has anger issues and doesn't like listening to shredder. Donnie is super smart, but doesn't talk and therefore can't communicate well with others often. Leo is the youngest and easiest to scare into submission/actually get him to do what shredder says. After a couple/few years with shredder, they manage to escape with Splinter who is actually alive. Except Leo, who Shredder then takes to japan for about a year. Leo eventually gets back to his family.
And the rest of this post is how the brothers interact with each other after this (and a little speculation about what they would have been like if they HADN'T been taken by shredder). This... may have gotten a little long (between 1k and 2k words?) so im going to go ahead and put it under a cut
Once ALL turtles are back home. It’s an adjustment period. Leo spends some time trying to make sure that Splinter always stays happy and begins to panic is something happens that could possibly upset splinter. (because leo fears punishment, and that he or his brothers will be hurt like they would have been with shredder) Now splinter would never hurt them or get angry like shredder did, and logically leo knows that, but the stress Leo endured (especially when it was just him) has made him anxious and it takes a while for Leo to relax. But he gets there eventually.
They all still end up defaulting Leo to be leader, because he still knows their strengths and weaknesses best. Mikey still doesn’t like large text books and sitting still too long, but now that he’s out, he’s much more likely to sit back and relax and chill out. Pranks his brothers a lot. He is a big reason that Leo gets to calm down. He gets Leo to laugh and pulls pranks on everyone and demonstrates that no one is going to get seriously hurt as a consequence. (Mikey makes it a personal mission to get Leo to laugh at least once every day, or at the very least smile)
Once everyone is back together , Donnie really opens up and almost doesn’t ever shut up when he gets on a roll. His brothers love listening to him, even if 90% of it goes over their heads. Seriously, after years of not hearing Donnie speak, they will always happily listen to him. Sometimes he thinks too much and leo helps direct his thoughts. Leo asks him for help the most on solving problems during missions. He gets to make things exclusively for his brothers like jet powered skateboards and jet skis and communication devices and cloaking technology to hide their home. Once he meets April, she gets him more into chemistry, and Donnie occasionally supplies Mikey with stuff for pranks (like the “elephant toothpaste” stuff) but only when he knows it’s not going to possibly ruin any tech/ or furniture.
It takes a little while for raph and leo to work out that Leo isn’t trying to be mean/patronizing when helping with training, and that Raph would rather figure things out on his own, but that also he has always cared for all his brothers including leo. Once they find their groove, they almost become inseparable. Can often find them out patrolling together or sparring. Still get in fights over the stupidest things. Raph still gets angry, but it’s not a constant frustration like when they were at Shredder’s. (Shredder had been also purposefully trying to get Raph to be angry a lot, so that he would eventually be like a raging beast he could unleash on his enemies.) Splinter helps to teach Raph better (read: ANY) coping methods for his anger, and so his bouts of anger are far less often and over quicker.
Random fun fact. As the eldest brothers, Mikey and Raph are the ones the brothers go to when they're scared. Go to Mikey when its a silly fear and/or you just want to be cheered up. So when Donnie has a nightmare about all his technology either falling apart or turning against him as a giant computer spider monster or something, he goes to Mikey who doesn't make fun of him and is like "well all we'd have to do is drown it in water duh. When Leo has a bad time after trying to work on his fear of heights, Mikey just makes jokes or talks about something else until he calms down. (or if Leo gets stuck somewhere high because he's too scared to move, Mikey helps distract him from the heights and to look at other things instead). And when Raph gets scared by a bug that managed to get in his room, Mikey doesn't make fun of him, and just scoops the bug up and takes it away.
You go to Raph when you want to feel protected. Raph is the strongest one of them all, and has won most of the fights he's been in. So when Mikey gets spooked by a pile of clothes that looked like a person standing in a dark corner and now every shadow might hold something, he goes to Raph, because, while he knows there's probably nothing there, if there IS, Raph will be able to fight whatever it is. When Donnie is scared that the foot or other villains may get past the security he has guarding their home, he goes to Raph, because Raph will beat up anything that gets past Donnies tech defenses. And when Leo is afraid that Shredder or [redacted] is going to come and take him away again, he goes to Raph, because Raph has promised that he'll never let that happen, and Leo believes him. And big tough angry Raph has a soft and squishy heart, so he will always let his brothers stay with him when they're scared. Because he WILL fight against anything that threatens his brothers.
Their dynamic as teens:
*Listening to some bad guy monologue-ing *
Raph, whispering to Leo: what’s cognizant mean?
Leo: I…. I’m not sure. Don. What’s that mean?
Donnie: Cognizant: to be aware of or in the know of something.
Mikey: Guess Raph and Leo aren’t very cognizant of word definitions hahahaha-
BONK.
Raph: Shut up Mike!! You didn’t know eitha!
(Villain: Hey!! You're supposed to be listening to ME-)
So yeah, leo is the leader because that’s what they were used to and got good at while under the care of the shredder. If they had stayed with splinter its possible that Mikey would have lead, being the oldest, but also possible that he still wouldn’t have wanted the role/ wouldn’t focus well enough for the role. But he does know his brothers well and might have grown more serious. But since the shredder often wrote off his inability to focus as a lost cause, he happily lets Leo make decisions for him during missions. (at home though with things like dinner and movie nights, he likes to pull the oldest brother card to get what he wants lol) .
Raph being one of the strongest fighters could have argued for role as leader, but regardless of being with shredder or splinter he is a hothead and probably would still have not gotten leadership position. Although maybe with splinter he would have been able to work through some of his anger better, and channel it better and could have maybe stepped up as leader. But. As is, he never really worked out how to focus his anger with the shredder, and so there is a little bit of an adjustment period where he has to learn ways to channel his anger and frustration when he can’t just go and beat up the random foot goons in the training room anymore. (probably meets casey this way when he sneaks out to find bad guys to fight and runs into casey instead). Splinter does try to teach him some ways to cope that don’t involve beating people up. Knitting /crocheting is one of those ways (taking the time to MAKE something instead of destroy. And also yarn won’t break like pottery or glass or wood or a painting canvas if it gets punched in frustration).
Donnie is probably the least changed by his time with the shredder. He would have been talking a lot more and sooner had he been with splinter. Donnie did get to have access to more diverse technology tho and perhaps has more skills and experience because of it. Being with Shredder made him very anxious and was often close to a break down from stress, but being able to work in the lab simultaneously made it better (got to work on technology) and worse (never knowing what his work was going to be used for). Donnie is just relieved to no longer have to be building things that were going to hurt people and can now make things to help instead. Donnie really shines once he’s free. Makes friends with April (and leatherhead) he babbles and info dumps all the time, and gets lost in inventions and data, that his brothers often have to snap him out of. Could not lead because he’d get lost in the calculations and what ifs.
Leo actually has a similar problem. Often gets caught in a Do this and face possible consequence, or do That and face a different consequence. Which is better? Will he regret it? Which saves his family and which dooms it? <- this gets amplified during the time he’s alone with the foot. Once he’s back with his brothers they help to push towards decisions (with Raph’s hotheadedness jumping in anyway, Don’s analysis, or Mikey’s fun impulsiveness/instinct.) and that they’ll be there to work through whatever the consequences are anyway, because they’re in this together, good or bad. Brothers forever
