im such a big fan of the linda public school vs homeschool debate i think its a really interesting conflict, because obviously roman was homeschooled and it wasnt really beneficial towards him (which virgil could probably sympathise with regarding all of his mortal friends being terrified of him briefly), BUT also trying to tell logan or even patton that public school is the best option for their fae child is so obviously gonna be a problem, and then even when roman saw how logan was treated he didnt see how young it started and how much it was ingrained in him that he was wrong, and virgil didnt really see any of the worst of it so trying to commicate why its such a concerning idea is going to require bringing up some unpleasant things. but ALSO linda is not logan ((is it fair projecting his experiences onto linda or by trying to protect her are they gonna cause a complex anyway where she internalises being fae is wrong?)) or roman or patton or virgil and either choice could be uniquely beneficial or damaging just based on how she responds to her environment, which is impossible to actually determine without some trial and error, and id bet good money they dont want to risk the "error" part at all

just a very cool and interesting debate i feel, i enjoy how everyone has so many reasons to be so emotionally invested

tentatively, im thinking that she will be homeschooled until she goes to college, and also that thats kind of one of the reasons why she doesnt do as well as she hoped. she had structure (in a house full of autistic people, you bet she had structure) but also a lot of freedom over dictating that structure, and the freedom to deviate from it when she needed to (in house full of ADHD people, you bet she was allowed to go run around in the yard whenever she needed a break).

so in college the combination of 1. less structure in the sense that she has less support network and people to hold her accountable and 2. less freedom in the sense that you can leave whenever you want in college, but the class doesnt stop and wait for you to come back, means she doesnt have the skills to make it really work for herself, especially compounded with the fact that she's emotionally much less mature than her peers

and that fucking sucks, for her and for LAMP. because you can debate for years, and you can do your best, and you can do everything right, and your kid might still wind up with baggage because of something you did. something you did and believed in your heart of hearts was the best thing for them.

currently thinking about how kdj's decision to take the place of the oldest dream is made at what is possibly the lowest point of his character. like, literally a couple chapters before that he tried to kill himself. twice. and being the kind of person he is - its not like he is capable of letting himself be comforted or reassured in the aftermath of that. seeing his most disgusting, reprehensible self be carried away in the arms of the tragedies he consumed to stay alive... to be forgiven so wholly feels bad. if sp and the 999 gang and kdjc were angry at the oldest dream then kdj would understand that. but its not just that they arent angry, that they dont want revenge, its their forgiveness and acceptance that kdj truly cannot make sense of. he does not understand why he deserves it, why hes being forgiven, why they should be so kind to someone so worthless.

and part of that is that kdj himself wouldnt forgive himself, right? look at the grudge he bears against his mother, against his childhood bully, against everyone who has wronged him. hes bitter and unforgiving and cold and cruel. and he directs this most staunchly at himself. but the guilt he feels is so immense...the immense guilt of knowing that all the pain in this world was so that you and you alone could live one more day. and you loved it. you loved it so much, you loved that it was just for you, you loved the way it hurt. he cant bear this, and who could?

but its the worst he's ever felt, the lowest hes ever been. to someone who hates himself so much, kindness and forgiveness feel like torture and kdj has been through a wringer. and he is too stubborn to listen to people tell him that it wasnt his fault, that he gets to be forgiven and move on too. the fact that an opportunity for self-sacrifice presents itself is almost too neat; its still the story kdj is telling, in which there is always another reason to sign himself over to some illusory justice.

i think also a lot about how nobody in the kdjc questions kdj's suddenly-improved mood. they're just so used to this from him. the way he jumps from actually literally trying to drive a broken sword into his own neck to smiling and laughing with people - par for the course, really. impossible to worry about because it's happened too much and they are all so tired.

it just, you know, hurts to think of kdj, who has tried to kill himself so many times, failing again and again because all the love he poured into this world rains back down on him. and when he realizes that he can't die, he decides he has to live in the worst and most painful way of all, live forever alone because it's the only way he knows to make amends. imprisoning himself for this world that was his salvation and sin. always on one side of the bars, inside the subway's dark windows, looking out and looking at their stories without being able to be a part of them

“Hey Yuri!” Kirishima called after you as you walked through the halls. You stopped waiting for him to catch up.

“Hey Kiri, whats up?” You asked, both of you walking to your next class.

“Some of us are heading to the mall after school, you gotta come!” He told you and you smiled, stopping in front of your classroom door.

“Yeah sure, are we meeting somewhere after school?” You asked. There were a few shopping malls near you. A big one and two small ones but they both needed a car or train to get there.

“Yeah we are meeting at the shin train station around fourish then getting the train in” he told you and you nodded.

“Oh! Wait before we go in whats your number?” He asked and you felt your cheeks heat up instinctively. You knew Kirishima didn't mean it like that. Kirishima immediately realised what he asked and his cheeks turned red like his hair.

“What did you just say you extra?” He growled, leaning down slightly and moving closer. You turned to look for help from Kirishima but to your actual surprise hed left you! So not manly kirishima!.

You felt a slightly nervous grin form on your face as you stepped back only to bump into the wall and you froze. Bakugou stood, leaned over you as his teeth gritted. He had a bad temper and everyone annoyed him but you, you seemed to be the worst. He couldnt get you out of his head since he met you, always looking at you, laughing and smiling with everyone. You were so friendly to everyone and distracting! He could never focus with you in the same room.

“What? Not gonna answer. . . Where did all that confidence go? You sure had a lot; giving Kirishima your number so boldly” he glowered, you just wrote your number down so quickly for the red-headed idiot. You’d only known him for just over two weeks!

“I-“ You couldn’t speak let alone think, after realising the distraction of Bakugous smell you had to stay away. It must be his blood type. . . Not anything else. You looked at him. His blonde hair sticking out over his red eyes. He stepped closer and you stepped back, pushing yourself into the wall.

“Tsk. You’re such a weakling” he snapped and you clenched your fist as you shook your head. You opened your mouth, trying to ignore his strong scent.

“No im not and you do scare girls with your presence! You’re always glaring at people!” You snapped, looking straight at him and his brows raised at your little outburst.

“No im not! Stop lying you stupid extra” he growled. He wasnt some creep always glaring at people, why would he even waste time looking at others.

“Yes you are. You always stare at me!” You stepped forward, poking a finger into his chest as you furrowed your brows at the boy before you.

“W-What? No i dont. You dumb extra!” He snapped, stepping back, did he always stare at you? If he did its only because youre so annoying and loud.

He shook his head, grabbing your finger and hand that was poking his chest pausing when he felt how cold you were, like you weren’t even alive. You froze again, feeling the warmth of his palm seep into your hand. Youd never felt this type of warmth and your eyes flickered back to his.

“AHHHH! Guys look theyre so cute!” Minas recognisable squeal broke you too apart. Bakagou immediately stepped aside and into the classroom.

You turned to Mina and seen Uraraka and Jiro with her. You felt your cheeks warm ever so slightly as they eyed you up. Mina was practically bouncing on the spot as she stepped forward and grabbed your arm.

“M-Mina! We are not cute. We were literally just arguing!” You pointed out, trying to quell her excitement. Her grin only grew.

“Nu uh! You cant lie to me Yuri! I know flirting and youuss were flirting” she exaggerated. You were arguing with Bakugou not flirting. You didnt even like him as a person let alone like like him. You shook your head.

“Um. . Sorry Yuri but I agree with Mina. He was totally jealous of you and Kirishima!” Uraraka piped up and you groaned.

“No Uraraka not you too!” The two girls grinned at you and you looked to Jiro who just smirked slightly and shrugged walking into the classroom.

“You guys would make such a cute couple! Its so obvious he likes you” Mina cried excitedly and you shook your head in protest of the idea of dating Bakugou.

“Yeah Yuri, he is always staring at you and talking about you” Uraraka piped up and your eyes widened, you were curious, what did he say?

“What does he say” you asked, looking at them.

“Well. . . He mainly talks about how annoying you are but its all the time! My mom said when a boy likes you they act like they hate you because theyre too ashamed to admit they have feelings!” Mina explained and you relaxed for some reason youd tensed up nervous of what Bakugou could be saying about you.. what he really thought about you.

“That doesn’t really make sense Mina but anyways, lets go class is starting now” you told her and all three headed in as the bell rang.

“Hey dad! Im going out with some friends if thats alright!” You called to your dad as you walked downstairs. Aizawa sat at the kitchen table with some folders and paper.

“Who are you going with? and when will you be back? and where are you going?” His quick questions made you roll your eyes. You didn’t really have any friends as a kid being homeschooled up until U.A so this was new.

“With some friends from your class. We are just going to the plaza mall” you told him and his already hooded eyes narrowed more before he nodded.

“Okay, do you need money? Here” his scarf floated and picked up his wallet as he grabbed it and pulled money out for you. You sheepishly thanked him, feeling slightly bad but nonetheless grateful.

“Ill be texting you so make sure you reply quick or ill come and get you” you nodded quickly. He has always been so strict.

You left and headed for the station. It was a pretty warm day which was nice considering it was early April.

You arrived at the train station and smiled as you seen everyone else. Kirishima spotted you and waved his hand over. You grinned and headed over to him as he threw his arm roughly around your shoulders and smiled.

“Hey you came! Awesome” he grinned and you nodded, stepping away from him as he dropped his arm.

You didn’t expect so many. Mina, Uraraka, Kirishima, Kaminari, jiro and Deku. You liked everyone here, especially Uraraka. You both have been close since the villian/hero training a few days ago, ever since shes been sitting with you at lunch and break and in most classes.

“Oh bakugou! You came too!” You froze as Kirishima yelled to the grumbling blonde who joined your group. You sighed, of course Kirishima is too nice not to invite him.

“Yeah whatever. Im only here because you begged me to come” he grumbled and you felt your mood dampen slightly as you turned to glance at him only to find him already staring and you quickly turned away. You immediately thought back to what Mina and Uraraka had said about him

“Okay the train is here everyone!” You chuckled at how Kirishima was acting, almost like Iida as he stood by the door and watched everyone get on.

You took your seat. Kaminari, Jiro, Deku and Mina sat across from you whilst Kirishima took a seat beside you. You smiled at Uraraka who went to take the seat next to you when Bakugou planted himself down and your smile dropped. Uraraka just wiggled her brows at you two and you stuck your tongue out at her as she moved to sit across from Deku and beside Kirishima.

“What are we doing anyways Kirishima?” You asked. You’d been to this mall a few times. Its pretty big with three stories lots of shops and restaurants and even some entertainment establishments like the cinema and arcades.

“Im not sure. Mina was the one who asked me. I think its just a hang out” he explained and you nodded. The train jostled along and you noticed everyone in conversation except for Bakugou. Who sat relaxed against the window of the train staring ahead.

“Are you excited to go to the mall Bakugou?” You asked quietly, if Kirishima invited him he couldn’t always be mean, maybe he just hates school.

“Nah! This is such a stupid thing to be wasting time on but Dunce face and shitty hair begged me to come” he grumbled and you rolled your eyes, huffing back into your seat.

“Of course you’d say that, why even come if you’re gonna be miserable. Is there anything you like?” You grumbled feeling your mood dampen. You were even more annoyed at him for spreading his legs and touching his warm thigh to yours. It was distracting.

“Of course i like things! Just not stupid things like you” he countered and you rolled your eyes at him. He definitely hated everything and anything. You sighed, trying not to let him get to you as you tried again to be nice.

“yeah, like what?” You asked, turning in your seat slightly to face him. His brow raised at your inquisitive tone and change in demeanour, what were you doing?

“Why do you wanna know?” He asked, not fully giving you his attention as he glanced down at you. This was a lie, all he could focus on was were your now two knees touched his thigh when you turned.

“Because we are in the same class and friend group. Its nice to get to know your friends” you were quite literally biting your tongue to not snap at him right now. Mina said if hes mean he likes you so if he acts nice then he doesnt and she will drop it.

“As if id be friends with a damn nerd like you” he quipped and you bit your tongue harder as your hand squeezed your waterbottle tight.

“Fine! Dont tell me. You’re impossible you know! Im trying to be nice and youre just being rude” you snapped as you turned back to face forward, crossing your arms. He opened his mouth to retort but decided against it, what was he feeling. . . Was he feeling bad?

“Tsk, I like spicy food and horror movies. You happy?” He groaned and you felt a smile grow on your face. He was nice! Well as nice as he can be.

“Really? I don’t really like spicy food! Too much heat, whats your favourite spicy food?” You chimed, feeling slightly proud to finally get a proper answer from him. This made you happy for some reason, more so than talking with Kirishima and others.

“Of course. You’re too lame to be able to handle any spice! My favourite is spicy ramen with extra chilli oil” he told you, of course having to add an insult.

“I love ramen too! My favourite is chicken flavour, sometimes the curry one too” you told him. He rolled his eyes at your smiling expression and turned back to face the window before him. You felt good about that small interaction and turned to your friends who all quickly got back to their conversations, hoping You didn’t notice them eavesdropping on you and Bakugou. You also failed to notice the small half tipped smile on the blondes face.

You all arrived at the mall and separated but decided to meet up in a hour at the food court. You went with the girls of course to different shops, going through different clothes and accessories all while gossiping.

“Sooo. . . Yuri! You and Bakugou on the train huh!” Mina wiggled her brows and you rolled your eyes as you looked through the clothing rack trying to ignore her.

“What about us on the train” you mumbled, feeling your stomach twist slightly. You were probably just hungry.

“Oh come on! You have to admit Bakugou is pretty attractive..” she coaxed, pinching your side making you jump as you turned around.

“Mina! I dont like him” you told her firmly, feeling annoyed by her. She only rolled her eyes at you and smiled.

“But he spoke to you! And he smiled after the conversation ended” you stilled. He smiled? You made him smile. You shook your head at your thoughts. Why was he getting to you. You didn’t care if he smiled, probably his first smile since he was born.

“I think yous would make a cute couple” Uraraka piped as she looked at her self with a shirt in the mirror.

“Oh yeah what about you and Izuku” you piped and her face turned bright red as she quickly spun round.

“What about Izuku! Did he say something about me!?” She asked as she grabbed your arm. You were taken aback and you, Mina and Jiro burst out laughing at her.

You all left the store and headed for the food court to meet with the boys. You got some new clothes. You spotted Kirishima which wasnt hard given his spikey red hair. He waved yous over and you all sat around the big table.

“Hey guys! Get anything nice?” Kirhsima asked and you all nodded. He flashed his toothy grin and pulled out a big black graphic hoodie out if his bag.

“Woah thats so nice Kirishima” You smiled as you reached out to touch it.

“I love boys clothing, especially jumpers theyre always so much comfier than girls” you hold him and he nodded agreeing with you.

“So what are we all feeling for lunch?” Denki asked, everyone piped up with different opinions but the food court is huge so everyone got up to get their food.

You were craving some hot ramen. You headed to the little takeaway ramen shop. You could pick your own broth and toppings. You waiting in the line, going onto your phone to message your dad back.

“What are you ordering?” His deep voice piped up behind you and you jumped. You immediately knew who it was. His caramel scent wafting up to your nose as you felt the hear radiating behind you.

“Oh-um, just some tonkotsu ramen” you told him as you turned around. His eyes stared down at you, red circles piercing you and you froze slightly.

“Boring and lame like you” he tsked. His brow raising when You didn’t quickly retort. He noticed your pupils were slightly dilated and your cheeks flushed, were you overwhelmed by all the food smells.

He leaned down his face close to yours as you felt your mind race. His smell so strong; you couldn’t smell the hot food behind you. He rolled his eyes at you. How would you be a good hero when you got distracted so easily.

“Next!” Bakugou glanced up at the employee pointedly looking at Bakugou and you. He grabbed your hand and pulled you forward to the counter. Bakugou ordered for himself, yelling for extra spicy which the employee rolled his eyes at the rudeness of the boy.

“And for her?” The employee asked. He turned to you, seeing you were still slightly dazed.

“She’ll have tonkotsu broth with chicken, egg and green onion toppings” he told him and the employee nodded, handing Bakugou the ticket number. He turned and walked to the collection end, still holding your hand.

“Are you done zoning out yet?” His voice snapped in your ear and you jumped. You blinked a few times and looked up at him, subconsciously gripping his hand tighter.

“Huh? Oh I didn’t order” your eyes widened at your stupidness. He overwhelms you so easily. Your mind raced with thoughts as you turned to go join the line when Bakugou dragged you back by your joined hands which you only now realised. Your cheeks heated as you turned back and looked at them.

“I ordered for you nerd. Its rude you know to make others pay for your food” he grumbled and you immediately felt bad.

“Im so sorry! I have change I can pay you back, how much was it?” You asked as you pulled your purse out and fished in. He grabbed your hand back and you looked up at him.

“Its fine, you can pay me back by stop being so stupid and dont zone out next time” You opened your mouth to argue but his glare hardened and you quickly shut it.

Your number was called and Bakugou grabbed the tray with your ramen bowls on it, bringing it back to your table which all your friends were at again yous sat beside each other and grabbed your bowls.

“Bakugou. Your ramen is the same colour as Kirshimas hair!” You exclaimed, looking at the fiery red broth. The smell was even making your eyes water. He rolled his eyes at you as he began digging in.

it never ceases to amaze me just how cruel people in fandoms can be. cruel, mean, hyprocritical, straight up dumb.

dont get me wrong, these people are a minority. i have found myself amongst the best sort of people in fandoms i am a part of and couldnt be happier for the friendships i have made from them.

but this incredibly loud minority piss me off to no end. i stay away from any sort of discourse, silently watching from the background and watch thing blow up over trivial matters, and then learn who to avoid in those circles and move on with my life

but when i see, what i consider to be blatant bullying, to someone i hold dear, i dont want to be quiet anymore. im not a loud figure, im a tiny blog that loves to simp over 2d characters, a tiny stream channel that i interact with like minded people. and i mean i am TINY, im barely a blip on this wide web. so anything i say, it doesnt go anywhere, so still, i stay silent until i cant anymore.

so lets get to the crux of the matter.

if you dont like a character, you dont get to make others feel bad about liking them. i dont care if you think they are problematic, if you dont like their story, their look, or simply the fact that they exist

you dont get to make someone feel bad for finding a connection with them and loving them

you dont get to attack them about liking the character, passively or aggressively, you dont get to make fun of them and any of the work they do around them. you have no right to take it upon yourself and make someone feel like they dont belong just because they like a character that you dont

if you dont like the character, dont fucking interact, its that bloody simple. scroll away. mute the tag, mute the channel, whatever. just walk away

interacting with someones content for the pure purpose to make fun of it is cruel. you are making it public that you want to demean the person for what they enjoy. and the worst thing is, if you catch the attention of the younger audience, they learn that they get to act that way, and this kind of online activity only gets worse

it already has gotten worse. man, im a millenial and i thought keyboard warriors when i was in highschool and older where bad. these days the younger generation feel justified to think that they can say whatever they want and suffer no consequences of those actions. i see it in so many fandom discourses. its horrible

but they learn from the worst of us on the internet. the more they see the cruel interactions, the more they think its okay to act that way. and without a doubt, fandoms will end up being incredibly toxic environments that people wont feel comfortable to exist in anymore.

Just because the consequences are any less dire because others persons intervened doesn't erase that what show Penelope wrote was actually ruinous and malicious and could have been disastrous. It's actually quite sad that in need to defend her, you have to dismiss others' suffering, and banalize what she writes, what she makes money of.

One laughable thing is that you don't actually seem to have grasped that I was being sarcastic while saying "oh, I don't know". Had you read the entire post, you would have had your answer. What should happen to her? Well, show Penelope should learn that her words have consequences, can hurt people, ostracize them, ruin them. She should learn that she could have made Marina ostracized by her words, prompting the girl to dangerous options, just because she did not want her crush to marry her, and that it is not ok (and it even backfired on her, because by association, there was that disgrace on her family that prompted Eloise to seek LW to do something about it). She should learn that calling someone a beast, especially a WOC, certainly for comic relief, or even insulting anyone like that is not ok. That antagonizing the queen was never a good idea in the first place. She should learn that she cannot criticize one for not doing something when she actually made sure that person was stopped from actually doing anything about it, else it is very hypocritical. That by unravelling everyone's dirty laundry and even twisting things at her convenience, of course it can have dire consequences and she is responsible for it.

This season had people dismissing the consequences of her actions and praising her. That should not be the case. It is at least realistic to think at least some will just give her hell for it, and some families refuse to invite her.

That doesn't mean she can't make amends. That she deserves to be unloved and alone for the rest of her life, or to be bullied. Just that she should aspire to be a better person (she certainly could have the power to inspire more reflection about social classes, the status of women, etc), and not one that thrives on others'misery while still maintaining a holier-than-thou attitude. I certainly cannot root for that last kind of person.

You keep bringing up the body, the wallflower parts. You keep patting yourself in the shoulder, telling yourself you are right. At this point, it seems you are making your own story and do not read at all what I actually said. I can see clearly you need to vent and have your enemy (any unresolved issues, perhaps), and anyone would do, and perhaps it must feel very satisfying to throw hateful words while being anonymous, for you do so on and on (I will certainly not read the others that are rotting in my inbox, and that will find their place in the bin). The thing is, if you been a Moon Shape person you been Forgiven way to quickly and if you have the Ray´s, you been judge of any bad action equal missbehave bad similar to Eclipse´s behave. My black sisters early headcannons

I agree with you about narcissa not being soft, I mean if she was she probably would be miserable for the whole of the series and shes not, and the redeeming factor for the malfoys is that they all love each other very much. She and lucius got together in her fifth year. And got married straight after she finished school. She had however had pregnancy problems, so they were overjoyd when draco was born. Narcissa was made prefect but not head girl. Of the sisters she was the least interested in school but she did do enough to get good grades in all her classes.

With Andromeda i think she actually loves all the pureblood functions like the balls and the rest. But most the fics ive read has her hating them. And that not being able to take part in the high society was the worst part of running away for her. I think she was as prejudiced as the other 2 when starting school. And my headcanon is that she and ted got paired for a class very early on and he just decided he wanted to be her friend and he just did not let up. Snatching small conversations and giving small gifts. It took years for this to actually work and andromeda to decide she wanted to be friends. And that and only that made her slowly change her mindset. After the 2 war i could see her and narcissa write letters to each other but i also cant see either of them writing first. And its not like andromeda would attended bellas funeral. I also think of the sisters she and bella were the ones who were the closest. I think bellatrix wedding was the last event she attended. And the fact that after this bellatrix was very busy made it easier to run away. I also headcanon her as the best spellcaster of the three but that after the 1st war she does not keep training. I also think the reason she wasnt more involved in the order because she doesnt want to fight her former friends and family.(opposite i think to sirius who i think found Joy in it).

As for bellatrix she is the one i think who enjoys balls the least but she still thinks they are somewhat fun, she leaves as soon as socially acceptable to do other fun "afterparty" things. By the time she started school she had decided who her friends were and those were her friends for all 7 years. She also really enjoys learning and was the most studious. She took as many classes o.w.l.s and n.e.w.t.s as possible and excelled in all. She could have been both prefect and head girl but made sure ahead of time she was not interested because it would cut into study time. Not that school classes was the only thing she studied. Due to being and excellent student and some charm and high standing she got to read any book she wanted from the forbidden section of the library. She always asked with a good and untrue excuse. She was far from kind to muggleborns but she was not a bully in school. Only hexing those who annoyed her or slighted her some other way. She actually found it boring and did always had an air of "can you get done soon" when her friends were bullying. Bellatrix found however out that she liked inflicting pain the first time she did it, this was at the very end of school though so she didnt terrorize the school. As soon as she was out of school she travelled to learn more. Around her 20 birthday her parents started bugging her about marriage because she had never shown any interest in romance. She after a bit of this went to rodolphus and said lets get married in which he responded wathever you want(I think he is in love with her but knows she doesnt love him and therefore dont expect anything and they are best friends). He proposed the next day at a garden party with the finest and most expensive of rings. Though there had been talk with and about voldemort in her friendgroup. Bellatrix first met voldemort at her wedding(I really like this headcanon). They immediatly got along well because Bellatrix had gotten lightly into dark magic and wanted to learn more and voldemort really liked how much interest she showed esp coupled with that she is very powerful.

Yes to Lucius and Cissy being together since Hogwarts, yes to her being Prefect but not Head Girl, super-duper yes to Narcissa with pregnancy problems. I have a very specific headcanon in mind for this. I think they had several miscarriages (Bella had at least one too; difficulties with conceiving children is something I envision for all the women of the Black Family, which may also be due to the fact that they all select their spouses from a very small pool) and they finally managed to conceive with Severus' help, using some sort of potion and very later on (if Cissy is done with school around 1972-73, why did her and Lucius only have Draco in 1980? It's not like she was involved in the fighting...)

I also agree that Andromeda was quite different from Sirius and her leaving her sisters was much less of a nuanced political position (I see her as someone with many biases and a lot of unlearning to do- never mind the fact that she also doesn't want her daughter to marry Remus because he's a werewolf). I think she loved her family - sisters, parents, cousins - and partly her world (balls, fancy restaurants and holidays...) I can see her having a difficult time letting go. Her abandonment of her family is something that's much more selfish than we think: she liked Ted, and her family said she couldn't have him, so she took him anyways. My problem with her is that I can never seem to write her the way I want to. I can't seem to get her voice right.

Yes to Bella's wedding being the last event she ever attended (something Narcissa would always be resentful of).

Sirius is someone with a very black-and-white morality (ironically, the same as Bella), while Andromeda isn't in my opinion. And I can see her being conflicted over her position in the war, even willing to forgive her sisters until Tonks' death, of course. Yes to neither Andy nor Cissy being able to bring themselves to write first after the second war. And yes to Andromeda not being there for Bellatrix's funeral. She might have gone, even after Sirius, if it weren't for Nymphadora. I just can't see her forgiving Bella for that.

Yes to Bella being the most studious, and the best in school. Yes to her having a small group of friends. I can see her being Prefect and Head Girl, but I can also see the opposite - her not being given it/refusing it not on the basis of grades but temperament/free time/other injustices etc. Yes to Rodolphus being in love with her and them having a good relationship, yes to her choosing him personally. It's a happy headcanon for her to have travelled after school. I definitely think she wanted to, but in my head, her parents had always refused it, saying that it wasn't proper for a young witch like her to travel the world without a chaperone. So, while I am heavily critical of Oprah Winfrey as Oprah Winfrey the billionaire, I do hold a great deal of empathy for her as Oprah Winfrey the black woman. Like Tyler Perry, I think this facade of togetherness that she forcibly pushes out to the world is the one thing holding her together.

I had to redo some research because I heard the things I know about her a while ago, but I wanted to get them straight. I'll put the sources below. But Oprah grew up in rural poverty. She wore potato sacks for dresses and was dealing with bullying as well as an abusive grandmother.

She was repeatedly molested by her 19-year old cousin, uncle, and a family friend. As Oprah said: "At nine and 10 and 11 and 12 years old, I was raped by my 19-year-old cousin. I didnt know what rape was. I certainly wasnt aware of the word. I had no idea what sex was, I had no idea where babies came from, I didn`t even know what was happening to me," (wikipedia)

She was six when she had to go live with her mother. And this happened:

Oprah's mother was working as a housemaid at the time, and Oprah can still clearly recall the evening of her arrival at the home in which her mother had a room.

"I remember the first night entering into that house and being told that I wouldn't be able to sleep with my mother and I wouldn't be able to sleep inside the house," Oprah says. "There was a little foyer/porch before you actually got inside the house. I was put outside to sleep there."

I wouldn't dare even insult victims of it by trying to even suggest I know. So that she still has trauma with her is very reasonable. But it is that Oprah speaks often as though she has overcome this through her faith.

And I just don't believe that. You can argue that her obsession with producing black pain (e.g. Precious, For Colored Girls, The Color Purple, The Women of Brewster Place, etc.) are all tales that both help her heal as well as tell stories about the will of black people, specifically women, and how much we survive and push through. But these stories always so hyper focused on the pain. The actors play their roles with an uncomfortable and unnecessary amount of rawness that borders trauma porn.

And this is all my opinion, of course. I don't presume to know Oprah or what's knocking around in her head. But more succinctly put, I think Oprah is only able to truly face the trauma of her past through these stories of other people. She can only really shed tears and really grieve the loss of her childhood through other people's stories. She leans towards stories of black pain because they are mirrors of herself. Religion was all she had. She's said several times that her belief in God is what got her through her worst times. But when you rely so heavily on this thing that requires all the heavy lifting on your end (believing without ever being given proof), you are going to neglect the part of you that needs to be angry. That needs to be vulnerable and critical.

I think for Tyler and Oprah, they think (or know) that if they let themselves be too vulnerable and admit their moments of doubt in the only thing that ever got them through it all, they might crumble in a second.

*I also want to emphasize that Orpah was not credited in For Colored Girls and allegedly did not want Tyler Perry to make the rendition since it was a story about black women. I really think that Riley Denis and Milo Stewart deserve an award for all the shit they went through back in 2016-2017. Milo Stewart is non-binary, Riley Denis is a trans woman. They existed openly and authentically during the rise of the Alt Right on YouTube. If y’all knew the bullshit they went through. Hell, Blair White used the hatred reactionaries had towards Riley Denis to prop herself as one of the “good ones”. Existing as a non-gender conforming trans woman is hard enough in 2024, but it was way worst back in 2017. I don’t see their names mentioned a lot but y’all gotta understand that this was pre-breadtube. Contrapoints hadnt even transitioned yet. The state of lefty and trans-inclusive YouTube was so different.

Things like being gender non-binary wasnt really in the public mentality yet, so people like Milo Stewart were bullied and harassed.

Imo, they’re a very important part of trans history online and I wish we gave them their flowers more just because I think their story has been lost to time a lil bit too much

I think people are discounting that the reason Marinette’s speech to Chloe MIGHT sound a bit self righteous is because it’s a campaign speech. She’s trying to convince the class not to let Lila be voted in the last 2 weeks of school on the campaign of “I can reform the school bully”. Mostly because, unlike the class, Marinette knows Lila is a malicious manipulator and liar and no good is going to come of this duo being in charge of the class.

And Marinette is right. The class has gone above and beyond what most classes would do for a school bully who is cruel to them everyday. I feel like people miss the part where the kids have a right to say enough is enough, not because they are being self righteous and shunning someone who won’t change, but because that person has been hurtful to them and those they love over and over again. And they’ve seen what indulging that person does like with Sabrina and Mrs. Bustier. It just makes things worse. It would feel self righteous if Chloe was the least bit remorseful or if Chloe wasn’t terrible to everyone on a daily basis. But because both those things are true, it feels logical. That’s why it’s really hard to blame the characters in this. What Marinette did felt logical because of how the writers have been writing Chloe. Over the top villainous and without a shred of remorse. Narratively, Marinette is right. But outside of the narrative, I can see being critical of the writers choices there.

Also, the attempt she made to link Chloe and Audrey wasn’t the best but… it wasnt actually a terrible idea? If you watch the scene, she starts poking at them both, pointing out their cruel similarities like she was trying to make them angry at her. I didn’t get the sense that she truly meant “you guys are both horrible and you should be horrible together.” It seemed like she was trying to make them irritated at her so that they would have a mutual enemy and agree on something and a relationship might blossom from that common thread. Chloe would be happier she had a relationship with her mom and perhaps a happier Chloe would make a marginally nicer Chloe.

Of course it didn’t work because Audrey is the worst and reform is hard, but that attempt wasn’t the nail in the coffin that damned Chloe forever. Marinette shouldn’t be walking around feeling responsible for Chloe’s downfall after that attempt because it barely made a ripple in the water that is Chloe’s trauma. Chloe already looked up to her mom and tried to emulate her prior. She was already cruel to most people prior. Her father already enabled her behavior. Even without Marinette’s attempt, she likely would have just continued taking her anger over her mother out on everyone. It’s not as though Chloe was on the precipice of making a big change at that moment and Marinette tipped her scale in the wrong direction. What I’m saying is, things were already really screwed up when Marinette attempted to get them to bond and I think people put too much emphasis on that as a factor in Chloe’s behavior.

Yeah looking at what actually happens in-universe with Chloe, Marinette's stance makes sense.

Also the Miracuclass are kind, forgiving, and understanding in the extreme even when people hurt them - probably part of the reason Marinette's pissed off at Lila for manipulating them and taking advantage of them back in Chameleon. Unfortunately, while going for kindness and understanding first is a good thing, it doesn't always work to change those who aren't so kind or understanding.

Is there a particular reason you stopped making Fortnite art?

ohhhh boy. theres a few? in part its because it stopped being fulfilling and i lost interest and inspiration. its also because i cant play the game anymore because it cant run on my laptop with the new updates.

but a big one is that people are... really mean. really, really mean. people in the fortnite community overall are SOOOO NEGATIVE esp to artists. i make primarily romantic art and pinup art, and people can be incredibly unkind. ive been called slurs (both homophobic and racial), ive seen my friends get bullied for posting art in a similar vein, fuck that shit was a NIGHTMARE. fortnite possibly has the worst fandom ive ever seen, and ive been in SO MANY of them! i made mostly Jonesdation art, and while there were people who liked it, there was a lot of people who also didnt. there was some kind of weird.. looming feeling that i was afraid of posting my indulgent work (of course i always posted it anyway! im no pussy) but i dont like having that feeling loom over me. its also bc some of my friends kind of thought it was Funny when i did Foundation art since they didnt care much abt fortnite lore and thought my serious art i put all my time into was funny because of who acted Foundation. and i want my ideas to be taken seriously enough if i present them in a serious fashion.

its also because The Seven got slipped out of the story as time passed, and i really just couldnt get into the Oathbound or current groups. and even then, content with The Seven and Foundation in particular really felt like punch after punch regarding a character i became attached to (to nearly a delusional extent) with peoples perception of him becoming shittier because of a fucking comic that sucked ass. after a while it feels like people forgot abt him :( fortnite seriously moves WAYYY too fast and theres too many characters to get attached to, once your fave falls out of relevancy in story you are probably not gonna hear about them again? the only seven members i ever see ANYONE talk abt anymore is origin and that is bc im friends with the number one origin fans SBHJAHBANJA i love them i hope they have fun forever <3

something else that i think is that, i fell out of the fortnite fandom because it feels like its not a great place to explore ideas for me. when it comes to writing, i want to explore relationships, symbols, backstories, and the character i liked (Foundation) did NOT have that many people willing to explore those ideas and it made me scared to share them. Fortnite also doesnt really have a lot of... depth. it COULD have depth, sure, but you have to grasp at straws and make up half of it. it just.. wasnt fulfilling enough, i need something i can Dig into.

ill always love the Fortnite characters, and ill always love The Seven. ill always love Fiore (my foundation oc i made before he got unmasked officially) and FUCK ill always love all of the villains and Jones. but right now i need to explore something else fulfilling

i dont have a problem with being in a community with a lot of teenagers (i am a teenager. an adult one but ykno) but DAMN its a relief to be able to talk like an adult to OTHER ADULTS now that im out of there

ive also had to hide my nsfw art twitter for a variety of reasons that are complex. (one of them being that Im not trying to get bullied more)

it felt like i was fucked bc i couldnt produce relevant art fast enough to keep up with the game

Ok took longer than expected but i'm finally taking on the fairy team star base as i type this. (Im currently fighting mister fancy looking dude outside the gate)

They said something about every member of staff being replaced at some point and then the current staff came into the picture...? Ok so.... there was a big scandal after team star confronted the bullys, and someone took the fall for them. (im assuming its their boss whos missing, who im assuming is penny as of this point)

Hmmm... The deeper i get into the team star business the more i start to feel they were in the right. I mean i had an inkling of that early on, but now im starting to think we uh... shouldnt be dismantling them? But on the other hand, what reason do they have for still being around? The bullies dropped out and the school seems great as of now. Theyre just waiting for their boss to come back, and if penny is actually cassiopeia, and actually wants to take them down, then it would seem their boss doesnt want them to wait for them. Idk.

OK! so the person who took the blame is from galar orginally. If it is Penny then that means i have lost all respect in them, imagine being british. (i'm kidding of course, i love galar its a great region) But now i kinda wanna pay attention to Penny's dialogue to see if it's written with an accent....

OK SO THE TEACHING STAFF RESIGNING DID HAVE TO DO WITH THIS INCIDENT. IM LITERALLY SO SMART. (it really wasnt that hard to put together, so i dont think i have a right to brag, but i will anyway.)

Ok so it's like 100% confirmed at this point basically that cassiopeia is the team star leader. But are they Penny is the question i still have.

Anyway, fun fight over all, i managed to sweep the whole thing with Unagi but it got a little close cuz of the confuse ray and my stubbornness not to switch out. But yeah Ortega is snazzy and has more swag than i ever will. So far all of the team star bosses have been rlly fun characters so im looking forward to the last one
