Hanami loves her friends dearly… even though she doesn’t quite show it… peace and love on the planet earth…
Just because her facial expressions can't show how she feels, doesn't mean she doesn't show her love and care for her friends in different ways! (I mean, for fuck sakes, she went up against Gojo alone and on a whim just to save Jogo!)
She shows her care more through action. They all do honestly! But she also just gives out a ton of support, kinda like a beam that holds up a house, one that you don't see but you appreciate even if you don't realize it (and might sometimes take for granted).
I can see Mahito being a lot more verbal with his love and care for the rest. Definitely still touchy (giving hugs and kisses, either out of actual care or to annoy/piss off his friends), but is also ready to give out compliments and praise (though sometimes these are backhanded, it can be hard to tell because he uses the same or similar tone every time).
While Jogo is more of a tsundere, kinda. When dealing with his friends bullshit he is quick to fly off the handle and get mad, but he is never going to actually try and hurt them (just screaming and chasing, possibly a couple rough hits if he catches them, and by them most of the time it is Mahito).
But he can also show his care in a passive way, such as letting everyone huddle close to him if they are in colder area (especially Hanami who I can see getting a bit tired in the cold when not in a fight or on a mission or something). And just letting Mahito or Dagon have their fun roasting stuff over his head (something he would never willingly tolerate with anyone else that wasn't a friend).
Then Dagon is a more go-with-the flow kind of character (pre-evolved especially) and is always ready to follow whichever one of their friends they choose that moment. I also see them as having an "acts of service" kind of love language? If that makes sense.
Like domain expansion can take a lot out of the caster, and here Dagon is keeping it active for who knows how long just so their friends can have a nice beach spot to hang out in while they gossip and chit chat (plan world chaos). Dagon is absolutely showing love through helping their friends.
So Hanami and Dagon are the two that show their love and care through actions the most, while Mahito shows love through both action and speech, and Jogo shows it through action and inaction with some speech.
That's not even to mention their powers showing their emotions! Like Hanami just absentmindedly growing some flowers around her, any water near Dagon swirling a bit into whirlpools, Mahito's body changing unconsciously to show happiness, Jogo getting a little steamed up/overheated.
Hanami has plenty of ways to show she cares and loves her friends even if she can't properly make a face to show it! (though now I am thinking of Mahito giving Hanami a bunch of transifigured humans in the shape of emotion faces, like at a doctor's office, so she can use to help express her emotions better. She kindly refuses them).
But yes, they all know they care for each other (why else would they stick together through their crazy ass plan to take on Gojo? lol), so it truly is peace and love on the planet earth! (until it isn't)
calling my lover "mine" but not in the way that my toothbrush or notebook are mine, mine in the way my neighborhood is mine, and also everybody else's, "mine" like mine to tend to, mine to care for, mine to love. "mine" not like possession but devotion.
Renthubs commission for @dioslab from @plumelagoon from their fic "eros and psyche" ~~ please read it and get all misty eyed like I did at a tale of curses, arranged marriage, lunar kings and demon princes!
And also check out the official matching art piece that @briseise did for their collab a bit back right here!!!! it's beautiful as all things honey does of couuurse!!!
A Huskerdust headcanon that just popped into my head is that Husker doesn't like talking about how many languages he speaks, so Angel goes around saying the FILTHIEST of dirty talk around Husker in Italian, NOT KNOWING HUSKER SPEAKS ITALIAN AS WELL
I want to cry thinking about how the fuck this cat is gonna break the news to his lover

[A sad violin song plays over an image of a sad hamster]
Pac: This doesn't have anything to do with me – I wear a blue sweatshirt, you're crazy, this mouse doesn't even have a sweatshirt, this hamster! [Reading chat] Am I a depressed hamster?
[ Transcript continued ↓ ]*

Pac: Actually– that's fine! I embrace that idea – of course I'm going to be depressed, are you crazy? [He hits his desk, then starts counting off people on his fingers] Fit is gone, Richarlyson is gone, Ramon is gone, Bagi and Empanada who were always there when we were there are also gone, I haven't seen them! It's just me and Tubbo, and sometimes Philza shows up.
Pac: I lost Chume Labs, I lost the Favela, I lost Murder Mystery, I lost Ilha Chume Labs, it's crazy! Look at how much I've lost, and I've gained nothing! Of course I'm going to be depressed, are you crazy?! How am I supposed to be happy?!
Pac: [Reading chat] "You have us Pac," that's true, thank you. No, that's true, sorry.

Ok so i personally believe that interstate trade in the wasteland is alive and well, especially along the coasts, but there HAS to be some like. Linguistic weirdness happening in the wasteland. With radio communication, I'm sure there's a "standard english" that prevents a lot of people from getting tooooo granular of a dialect, but it doesn't take that long for languages to change, really. Where are the pidgin languages? The new expressions? The funny sayings? The things that no vault dweller would understand because they come from an entirely different culture?
You'd probably have a lot of languages that are related, like the romance languages, or even Esperanto, where someone can parse the meaning even if they aren't a native speaker. Lots of English/Spanish variants of course, but can you imagine giving the Appalachian dialect 200 years to marinate? Cajun? Minnesotan?? The people in the Commonwealth should be speaking like theyre from another planet. The sole survivor is talking like a Jane Austen novel, unable to comprehend the words a Bostonian mind has had 200 years to come up with.
sometimes I hear people talking about how shifty was cruel to her components, and the way the pieces of her were often terrified before being taken, and something about that doesn't sit right with me.
I always related to shifty because I have been many people in my life. And in a sense, every one of those people has died, been destroyed. But what does shifty say herself? I am speaking of something that cannot be done. To destroy is to remold and reshape. Those people aren't gone, per se, just moved out of the spotlight to make room for future evolution.
Sometimes it makes me sad how many of the old me's are gone now. I imagine speaking with them frequently, and yes, they are sad to have gone. Most wanted to keep going. But that's not how change works. If something is to begin, something else has to come to an end. We cannot enjoy the beauty of the prisoner and the beast and the thorn and the eye of the needle if we don't first say farewell to the stranger.
No one really wants to change. No one really wants to start again. But it's necessary. I cannot know what it is to be me without taking time to explore my facets left undiscovered. It doesn't mean that I no longer have room in my heart for the old ones, that I haven't loved the me's of the past, or contain none of them within me, just that I know that to live is to be changed. And each perspective of the Shifting Mound had been moved to the greatest extent to which it could change, and to continue on, a reset was necessary.
To view the Shifting Mound as being cruel to her selves is to ignore who she is as a whole in favor of the fragments that we like. The Shifting Mound was doing what was best for her to grow and to evolve as all beings do, and by extension, doing what was best for each individual princess. If someone were to get angry with me for becoming quite different than I was as a teenager, or a seven year old, then that would tell me that they didn't actually care for me, just the version of me that they liked.
It's time for the Shifting Mound to move on. Time for the Long Quiet to move on. It hurts, but it's what we need to truly get to explore and love ourselves, and we can't truly love the princess if we only love her for a piece of what she is, and try to limit her to the specific qualities we enjoy. It just isn't fair to any of them.
I don't know what I'm doing with my life, don't mind me. I guess I'm procrastinating writing another chapter. Do you know any similar memes for procrastination purposes?
I've shared this podcast before but every time I listen to it I get so delighted by linguists hyping each other up and getting excited talking about their area of interest I feel compelled to share it again skdjfhghj
