for suptober22 day 13: morning after
Dean wanted to blame the beer, but he only had one.
Dean wanted to blame the lack of beds, but there were two.
Dean wanted to blame the cold, but it was summer in the south.
He reached across the bed, running his fingers across the strong stubbed jaw of the one lying across from him. He couldn’t believe the night before, couldn’t believe they did that, and couldn’t believe he had no desire to run out of the motel room before the person woke up.
Not that the person could wake up. He didn’t sleep. He was an angel, after all. An angel whose bright blue eyes shone in the sunlight peeking from between the slats of the window blinds. An angel, naked except for the sheets pulled up to his waist, with his skin marked with memories of last night. He could heal it if he wanted, but instead, he kept the reminder of Dean.
Dean smiled. “Morning, Cas.”
Cas grabbed Dean and kissed him, pushing him down into the mattress and making sure that morning became good, became great, became grand.
Dean didn’t have anything to blame for this. He should thank everything that made it happen.

n : the colder seasons make me disgustingly soft so here we are :)
click for palestine / please read (important!!) / how you can help palestine
your girlfriend abby knew you inside and out, down to the tiniest detail. she knew your coffee order like the back of her hand, your favorite foods, the ones you weren't too keen on, and even the ones that left you feeling just 'meh.' she knew which clothes made you feel like yourself and which ones made you squirm.
she was well-versed in your allergies, how to ease your period woes, and how to nurse you back to health when illness had you bedridden. in short, she knew you like the lyrics to her favorite song, especially when it came to comforting you when you were upset.
on one particular quiet thursday evening, you found yourself in a bit of a funk. it wasn't entirely your fault; deadlines were looming, assignments were piling up, and your group for a certain project seemed about as motivated as a sloth on a sunday afternoon.
add to that the part-time babysitting gig you'd taken on a whim (thanks to a bout of baby fever), which now felt like more trouble than it was worth. life felt like a swirling storm of stress, and abby's failure to recognize your frazzled state earlier that morning, dismissing it as 'overdramatic,' only added to your emotional exhaustion. so, when you returned home to find her somewhat dismissive, even her peace offering of your favorite meal and the suggestion of snuggling up to watch old seasons of love island fell short. it was time for some serious groveling.
"cold?" abby inquired, noticing your arms wrapped around yourself, the blanket now stubbornly tucked on her side of the couch.
“i'm okay," you mumbled in response.
"you're freezing, come here," abby insisted, slipping her arm around you in an attempt to draw you closer. "i said i'm fine," you huffed, scooting away, but abby knew better.
"aabe," abby called, receiving no response.
"baby."
"babeee, my love, my future wife, the mother of our future kids," she tried, and finally, a tiny crack in your stoic facade.
"i love you so much, you know that?" abby began peppering you with kisses, determined to break through your grumpy front.
"stop." you protested weakly, trying to maintain your grumpy exterior, but the corners of your mouth betrayed you.
"prettiest girl in the world, my girl," abby persisted, planting one final kiss on the tip of your nose, melting away any remaining sulkiness and revealing the smile she adored.
"oh, was that a smile?" abby teased, grinning ear to ear.
"i did not smile," you mumbled, attempting to reclaim your grumpiness.
"pretty sure i saw one."
"well, i didn't."
"you sure?" abby teased, before she launched herself at you, tickling you mercilessly, and soon the room was filled with your laughter, a sound that melted abby's heart.
"oh my god, stop!" you pleaded between giggles, swatting at her hands.
"magic word, babe," abby hummed, continuing her assault until you were both collapsed on the couch, giggling uncontrollably.
"please, please stop!" you begged, breathless.
"better," abby replied, finally relenting and placing a few loving kisses on your lips until you calmed down, the both of you grinning like kids.
"am i forgiven?" abby asked, pulling away slightly.
"maybe," you pretended to consider with a shrug, though the smile on your face gives you away.
"mhm," was all abby hummed before lifting you up with a slight yelp from you, her hands under your butt, giving them a pat as your legs wrap around her waist and your arms find their place around her neck. a gentle, affectionate kiss to seal the moment.
"let me make it up to you then?"

.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
Fall 1985
There were some moments in your life that were so ridiculous it made you feel like you were in a movie; one that was a solid mix between comedy and horror.
Tonight proved to be one of those moments.
And it wasn’t even the fact that you were in your bedroom stuck studying for a Psych test on a Thursday night rather than doing your original plan of seeing some show at The Hideout with Eddie that made you feel that way. Instead, what made you feel like you were trapped inside the horror-comedy that was called your life was the fact that you had completely forgotten that Steve had gone on a date tonight. But, you were all too quickly reminded of that when you heard the squeaky front door of the apartment open and close, and then not too long after that, you heard the sound of Steve’s voice saying something you couldn’t fully decipher, but a girl’s very elated giggles were the response to his words.
“Shit,” You muttered to yourself as you immediately stopped reviewing your notes and started desperately searching for your Walkman and headphones.
Moments like this were not supposed to happen, and after how quickly you and Steve learned that the walls in the apartment were insanely thin, you put a sort of system in place to make sure this kind of thing never happened. You would always tell each other when either of you were going on a date that could potentially lead to the person being brought back to the apartment, so that you or Steve could plan not to be there if that happened. And if it was actually a last second thing, you would try to do it at the person’s place instead of abruptly bringing them to the apartment.
For the most part, this little system worked perfectly fine, and in the four months that you two had been living in the apartment there hadn’t been any issues with it. But, apparently, tonight Steve either forgot about the system or he decided to disregard it entirely.
And yes, in his mind, you were supposed to be gone for most of the night anyway— Steve hadn’t known that your plans abruptly changed when you were reminded of the test that you’d entirely forgotten about— but he definitely did not tell you that his date would potentially take this turn. When he talked about it early that morning as you two shared a quick breakfast before you ran off to class, he seemed pretty passive about the whole thing. He had quite literally shrugged and gave you a half-hearted “yes” when you asked him if he was at least a little excited about it.
Somehow it was this realization that things had apparently gone so well that he decided to bring Vanessa back to the apartment that bothered you a bit more than the situation you were now in where you could potentially hear scarring things at any given moment.
It annoyed you further that, technically, in some fucked up kind of way, all of this was your fault.
Vanessa was in your communications class; it was probably the one course this semester you actually didn’t hate. You and her had the kind of relationship where you did consider her a friend, but you also knew that you’d probably never see her again once the semester was over and you two were no longer in the same class.
It had only been last week when you offhandedly mentioned Robin and Steve’s Family Video to her when she mentioned to you that the video store by her never had anything good. And when she showed up to class the next day gushing about the “hot guy that worked there,” you told her that he was your best friend. She then excitedly asked if there was any way you could help set them up, and you stupidly told her yes.
It was probably one of the dumbest things you’d ever said because you and Steve never set each other up with anyone; it was one of your unspoken rules. There was just something about doing so that felt weird and somehow wrong.
Being each other’s “wingmen” while you were out at some party or giving dating advice was completely different. Doing either of those things didn’t feel as personal as actively looking for someone for each other; mainly because you knew that you both would be so damn picky and would only want to find that “perfect person” for one another. And then there was the more selfish side of it where neither of you really wanted to do it because your friendship always shifted in a certain kind of way whenever either of you got in a serious relationship.
In your head, Vanessa wasn’t that perfect person, and you wished that you could use your selfishness as a plausible reason to tell her that you didn’t want to help set them up, but it wasn’t a good reason so you did it.
That same day, you told Steve that she thought he was cute and gave him her number, and he called her and the rest was history.
You didn’t even think that anything would really stem from the date because of how uncaring Steve seemed about it this morning, but you once again thought about how that apparently had changed. And you adamantly pretended that you weren’t currently feeling something weird in your stomach because of that.
You finally found your Walkman and you popped in a cassette tape before slipping your headphones on and going back to reviewing your notes. You fully pushed your mind away from Steve and Vanessa and what they were doing on the opposite side of the apartment in his bedroom.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
It was hard to tell if you were actually retaining any of the information that you had been studying for the past hour. But, it was easier to just pretend you were instead of letting yourself think about anything else.
You kept your focus on the chapter you were reading and the music playing in your ears; a new album that you just got and were finally getting around to listening to.
You had spent the last five minutes stuck on reviewing a concept that wasn’t making much sense to you before deciding to simply skip it for the time being and turning to the next page in your textbook. It was always in moments like these where you would wonder if any of what you were doing would eventually make sense in the grand scheme of things. If you’d ever learn if there was any point to studying and stressing over a stupid Psychology test, because would it even lead you to where you wanted to be in the future? However, it was hard to fully answer that question because you still didn’t even know what you wanted your future to look like. And that was just another thing that you wanted to push your mind away from at that moment.
Right as you were about to put a new tape in your Walkman, you once again heard the squeaky sound of the front door opening, and then after a few moments and hearing what you assumed were goodbyes, you heard it close.
With a loud sigh, you stood up from your desk, closing your textbook and notebook in the process because you were over studying, and you were now ready to become at least a little mad at Steve for making you feel like a hostage in your own home for the last hour.
You immediately noticed him in the kitchen, rummaging through the fridge.
“Hey,” You said, and he jumped a bit before quickly turning around to face you; it was a little funny seeing how much you slightly startled him, almost enough to make you not feel mad at him anymore, but not quite.
“Woah, I didn’t even know you were here,” He said as he closed the fridge. “I thought you were gonna be with Eddie all night.”
“That plan changed because I remembered I have a test tomorrow, so I’ve been here studying for the past few hours.”
“Oh,” He said, and then it seemed as if something quickly clicked in his mind. “Shit. Did you hear–”
You interrupted him by immediately shaking your head. “No, thank God, no.”
“I’m sorry, I had no idea you were gonna be here tonight,” He told you, his voice then became soft. “I also didn’t think that would happen tonight, which is why I didn’t even think about mentioning it this morning.”
You once again wondered what happened on the date; how great it must have gone. But as much as you wanted to know everything about it, you also wanted to know absolutely nothing. You felt that weird feeling in your stomach coming back. This time you were able to decipher what it was— annoyance, and maybe even a little jealousy.
That was foreign to you because you never felt that way when it involved Steve and who he was dating or even simply flirting with. You didn’t necessarily like all of the girls he brought around, but you were always supportive and never felt an ounce of jealousy. Maybe it was the fact that you facilitated this situation that made it all feel worse somehow; like it was “too close to home,” in a way.
You knew that you’d see Vanessa tomorrow— right before your stupid Psych test that you should probably still be studying for— and she’d probably tell you all about the date; excitedly rehashing the details of it. The thought of that happening only made the feeling in your stomach grow, and you quickly became frustrated with yourself for feeling so annoyed about everything right then.
“You want a grilled cheese?” Steve asked, pulling you out of your spiraling thoughts. He went into the pantry to grab the bread. “I was about to make one.”
You nodded at him, happy to pretend that you weren’t internally falling down a very rough hill. “Yes, I’ll take one. I think that’s very fair compensation for the almost trauma you just put me through.”
“I agree,” Steve said as he pulled out a pan. “And once again, I’m sorry.”
“Say that a thousand more times and maybe I’ll forgive you,” You told him teasingly before sitting on the couch and turning on the TV. You flipped through the channels for a bit before settling on a random sitcom, watching it as Steve cooked in the kitchen and the smell of toasted bread and melted cheese started wafting through the air.
“Here you go,” He said barely ten minutes later as he handed you a plate with your grilled cheese on it. “And make sure to cross this next “sorry” off the tab. I’m sorry.”
You laughed a bit at the pouty face he gave you to emphasize the apology. “Thanks.”
He sat down next to you on the couch and a silence settled between you two as you both enjoyed the grilled cheese sandwiches and only half-enjoyed the TV show playing.
The mindlessness of the show made it somewhat easy to avoid your thoughts. However, you still couldn’t help but silently debate whether or not you should let your curiosity get the better of you and ask him how the date went; even though you were almost certain that the answer he gave you would only make what you were feeling worsen.
“So, are you gonna see her again?” You decided to ask him instead.
That felt like the easier question to ask since you fully expected Steve to say no because nine times out of ten, he was rarely ever a second date kind of person; even if sex was involved on the first date. So, if the answer to your question was the no that you thought it would be, there would be no reason to feel this confusing jealous feeling because it wasn’t like anything more was going to stem between them.
You were already mentally swearing to yourself that you’d never set him up with anyone again if this was how you’d feel when you did. Maybe that was another subconscious reason why you both never did this in the first place; deep down you knew just how uncomfortable it would be.
“Yeah,” Steve answered before he took another bite of his grilled cheese. “We’re gonna go to the movies next weekend.”
You only nodded halfheartedly at that because you couldn’t think of any actual words to say in response.
Instead of your current feelings washing away, they only increased tenfold, and then it all settled into something that resembled sadness. And then you became upset at yourself because you couldn’t pinpoint exactly where your melancholy was coming from.
Were you jealous of Vanessa for potentially “stealing” your best friend away? Jealous of Steve for potentially getting into something serious while you were nowhere close to having that? Or simply annoyed with yourself for being the one to have made this happen in the first place?
It was a solid mix of all three, you knew that— that was probably the one thing you were actually certain about.
“You okay?” Steve asked. You were unsure how long you’d been quiet, but the show playing on the TV was now on a commercial break, so you knew that it had been at least a minute or two.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” You immediately told him. You wondered how obvious it was for your best friend to tell that you were quite far from fine. “I’m just… really tired. I’ve been studying for that test for so long and I kinda have a headache, and yeah…” You abruptly stood up from the couch. “I’m just gonna go to bed. ‘Night.”
You placed your now empty plate under Steve’s and then started heading to your bedroom before he could read you like a book and ask you more questions about what was currently going on with you.
“Goodnight,” You heard Steve say before you closed your door behind you.
You knew that you should’ve sat back down at your desk and studied some more, but in that moment you truly couldn’t be bothered. You were suddenly glad that Psychology was your last class on Fridays so you’d have some more time to study throughout the day before having to take the test.
You laid down in your bed and pulled your blanket over your head as you let out a long breath. Every single thing you were feeling was still lingering and somehow it didn’t feel as if it was going away. You hoped it would all be gone by the morning; that you’d wake up feeling the complete opposite of how you were right then, that you’d feel stupid and laugh at how you had felt tonight.
It could’ve been only a minute of you lying in your bed, or it could’ve been ten— you had no concept of time in that moment— but you heard a knock on your door at some point. You ignored it, hoping that Steve would go away, but also knowing that he wouldn’t.
Barely a minute later, you heard your door open and you didn’t have to see Steve to know that he was walking in. He was trying to be as quiet as possible, but the creaky wooden floors didn’t allow for any sort of silence.
You slowly pulled the blanket down from over your head and looked up at him. “Hi.”
“Hi,” He said as he set something down on your nightstand. “Some water and aspirin for your headache.”
A small smile took over your face and you sat up. “Thanks.”
“I know you’re too tired now, but I can help you study a little in the morning, if you want,” He told you and then gave you a playful smile. “I love reading your notecards.”
You shook your head and rolled your eyes. “Shut up, I know you hate helping me study for anything.”
“Yes, but I’ll always still do it.”
You smiled at that. “Okay, well in that case, wake up at eight and we can study for an hour before I have to leave for my nine-thirty class.”
“Got it.”
“Thank you,” You said before leaning your head back against your pillow.
For a moment, you thought about telling him how you’d been feeling tonight; the jealousy, the annoyance. He’d probably think it was funny, just like you would in a few days. But, when you turned your head to look at Steve before he left your room and softly closed the door behind him, you decided against saying anything.
Just in case everything you were feeling right then actually meant something a little different than what you thought it did.

because Instagram has been showing me a lot of dudes on motorcycles lately and that just really messes with my brain. so here's a lil modern!Az drabble. with a motorcycle.
(this actually might be a tiny lil sneak peak at a new drabble universe I´m currently building... 👀)
Trudging down the steps to the parking lot, I blinked into the sun that was already close to the horizon, sending warm golden rays over the few cars still there. Letting my eyes flicker over them, I felt my brows crease a little in confusion when I couldn't find Feyre's old mint-colored Bronco anywhere.
Beginning to slowly make my way through the parking lot, I looked over my shoulder, sliding my phone out of the pocket of my jeans as I looked back ahead - and stilled on the spot as my heart missed a beat, leaping against my ribs.
Near the entrance of the parking lot, Azriel leaned against his motorcycle. He was so tall, he basically lounged on the seat, his long legs stretched out on front of him. As usual, he was wearing all black, his jeans tucked into his boots, his armored jacket open over a plain hoodie. A strand of dark hair had fallen over his forehead as he looked to the side towards the other entrance, his brows crunched a little against the light of the low sun that made his skin shimmer golden.
Next to him him, two helmets sat on the tank.
My lips parted slightly, my breath hitched, and like he could feel my eyes on him, Azriel turned his head, his gaze finding mine.
The crease between his brows smoothed a little, and I thought I saw a soft twinkle flash through his eyes. Then one corner of his lips curved, and he straightened up, slipping his hands into his pockets and raising a brow at me.
Beginning to slowly move towards him, I squinted against the golden light, something beginning to pound against my ribs as I fought the ridiculously wide smile threatening to spread over my face and called: "What are you doing here?"
"Just finished class." Azriel's deep, steady voice sent shivers through my body, my heart stumbling in its rhythm when he watched me approach him, a soft twinkle dancing in his eyes. "Rhys texted me that Feyre's stuck at the gallery and that you needed a ride home, so I waited."
Something skipped against my ribs when I came to a halt in front of him, tipping my head back to frown up at him in slightly confused suspicion.
"And you just happened to have another helmet with you?"
Azriel's eyes flickered over my face, and one corner of his lips curved a little. Then he started stripping out of his jacket.
My heart tipped over in my chest, and my breath hitched as my eyes darted up to his face.
"What are you doing?"
"As long as you're on the back of my bike, your safety is priority." Azriel took a step forward, towering over me as one side of his lips quirked upwards. "Which means there's no way I'm gonna let you ride like this." Sliding the strap of my bag off my shoulder and dropping the tote between his feet, he straightened up again, handing me his jacket.
Feeling my brows furrow softly, I slowly took it, squinting up at him. "What about you?"
Azriel was standing so close he had to dip his head down to look at me, the golden specks in his eyes glimmering in the sun. "I'm fine."
My frown deepened. "No, you're not."
Az huffed, but the look he sent me lacked any heat, seeming more amused than anything else when he raised a brow at me and rapped his knuckles against his chest. "Armored."
"You run around with an armored hoodie and your jacket on a random Thursday?" I stared up at him with a suspicious frown even as my lips curved upwards and something suddenly fluttered against my ribs, and Azriel's cheek creased just a little as he looked down at me.
"Just put on the jacket, smart-ass."
Staring up at him for another second, I then grumbled softly and slowly complied.
The armor fitted into the material made the jacket pretty heavy. Slipping into the sleeves, I felt something in my chest dip softly when a wave of Azriel's scent washed over me; his cologne that smelled warm like cedar and something that was just him, deep and earthy and unobtrusively addictive.
The weight of the jacket felt strangely comforting when I slid it over my shoulders, tugging the hood of my sweatshirt out from underneath. The material was drowning me, far longer than it was supposed to be and probably looking ridiculous, and when I raised my head, I just caught Azriel's eyes flickering over me. He blinked, then he took a step forward, and my heart swerved sharply when his chest almost brushed against mine. My eyes darted up, and suddenly, my throat felt a little dry.
Azriel's iris was piercing as it moved over my face. I could feel the warmth radiating off his body when he reached out, carefully freeing my braid from under the material, then he reached down and tugged the jacket close. His knuckles grazed my chest when he zipped it up, straightening the collar, and my heart tipped over when his rough, warm skin brushed over my skin.
One corner of his lips twitched, and gently, Azriel raised a brow.
"This good?"
I swallowed softly and nodded, because his deep, quiet voice made something thrum so heavily in my chest, I didn't trust my own.
The corner of his lips curved up a little more, then Azriel took a step back, leaning down and picking up my bag to stuff it into his backpack. Taking it when he handed it over, I slid the straps over my shoulders. It wasn't too heavy, even with my things inside as well, which was a bit strange, considering I knew he must've had quite a few lectures today and had definitely needed his laptop -
Azriel stepped towards me, and my heart stumbled again when his hands closed around the straps, tightening them until the backpack was sitting snugly against my back. I tried to keep my breath from hitching as I looked up at him, the strand of hair still stubbornly curving over his forehead as he dipped his head to check the zippers of the jacket again.
Azriel threw me a look, and there was a light crease to the side of his lips, then he blinked.
"Alright." He pulled a pair of gloves from his back pocket, looking over my head when a car rolled past. "Put these on."
"You just happen to have another pair of gloves?" I felt my lips curve into a slow, incredulous grin as I raised my eyes to stare up at him, simply because this was getting ridiculous, and Azriel threw me a glowering look that made me beam.
Azriel's lips curved a little, then he turned around, and I slipped into the gloves. They were quite big, and I had to pull the velcro strap tight over my wrist so they wouldn't slip. Then I raised my head, and my breath hitched when Azriel swung a leg over the bike, sitting down on the leather seat. I could see his shoulders shift even under the loose hoodie as he picked up one of the helmets, holding it out to me.
Stepping forward, I took it and carefully pulled it over my head, the feeling a little strange as I shuffled it in place. Trying to tighten the strap under the chin, I furrowed my brows in frustration. How on earth was I supposed to do that with these huge gloves o-
Fingers slipped under my jacket and into my belt loops, and my eyes darted up, my breath hitching and stilling when Azriel pulled me forward until I bumped into his side.
My heart did a backflip before tilting, and Az reached up to gently pull the strap tight until it rested against my skin. His fingers brushed over my throat, causing a soft shuddering tingle to travel down my spine, then they slipped down, checking the jacket, the straps of the backpack and the gloves. I felt my heart beat into my throat as I stared at the focused crunch of his brows, then I blinked when Azriel raised his head.
"Alright, I already set up the comms, so you'll be able to talk to me even with the helmets on."
I nodded, flexing my shoulders as my heart started fluttering in my chest, and Azriel's gaze moved over my face, his iris looking like molten gold in the sinking sun. Then one corner of his lips quirked.
"Ready?"
I exhaled softly, shaking out my arms and nodding, feeling my heart skip, now in nerves and excitement. "Yep."
Azriel straightened and looked over his shoulder as I stepped forward. Just sitting upright on the bike, he was still tall enough that I had to actually raise my arms up to grab his shoulders as I placed my right foot on the rear footrest. Azriel's hand came up, closing around my elbow to steady me as he looked back at me, and my heart skipped a beat when his amber eyes settled steadily on my face.
"One, two -" His hand squeezed my elbow, and I pulled myself up onto the seat behind him.
A soft, breathy giggle left me, and I thought I felt Azriel's shoulders vibrate in a quiet, amused chuckle. Then he looked over his shoulder, and my heart rose when I saw the twinkle in his eyes. "You good?"
I nodded, my hands slipping over his back as I shuffled until I was comfortable, then I raised my head, and Azriel arched an eyebrow. "I'll need you to hold on tight and stay close, okay?"
I saluted cheekily, something under my ribs suddenly hopping with excitement, and Azriel huffed, but I saw the curve of his lips as he turned back around.
I drummed my fingers against Azriel's back as he put on his helmet, the giddy feeling in my chest expanding when he slipped on his gloves. Then he looked over his shoulder, and I almost jumped a little in surprise when I heard his voice clearly in my helmet.
"You ready?"
Quickly wrapping my arms around his middle and squeezing, I nodded, and even though I could barely see the outline of his face under the dark visor, I was sure to see Azriel's lips curve. Then he turned back around.
"Then let's go." He started the engine, and my breath hitched when the bike sprung to life, vibrating a little. Azriel leaned forward, and I followed his movement, slipping my arms tighter around him as my body curved into his back and my heart fluttered in excitement. Then Az pushed off, and I buried my fingers in his hoodie when we turned in a wide arch, the rumble of the engine causing my spine to tingle giddily as Azriel headed for the exit.
The golden sunlight illuminated the streets, its rays falling through the red and yellow leaves and reflecting off windows as the cool wind brushed over my ankles, sending happy shivers down my spine as I held onto Azriel and looked up at the buildings zipping past as he weaved through the early evening traffic. I could feel his muscles shift under my arms wrapped tightly around him.
"You okay?" His deep voice vibrated through me even forwarded by the comms, and my breath hitched when his right hand slipped off the handle, reaching back to gently close around the inside of my knee. Even with gloves on I swore I could feel the warmth of his skin seep through the material of my jeans as he squeezed lightly, and something swerved in my chest.
I nodded quickly before realising he couldn´t see it, and my heart skipped as I called back, a wide, beaming smile spreading over my face: "Yeah!"
A soft chuckle vibrated through Azriel's body. For a second, I could feel his hand linger, body relaxed as I buried my fingers in his hoodie, then he slipped it off and looked over his shoulder, and I leaned to the side a little so he could see past me, squinting into the sun as Azriel switched lanes.

"so, how was your day?"
you looked at him, your voice soft as you asked. you and your boyfriend sat in his car, the air thick with tension. but jays response was anything but kind. his eyes narrowed as he looked straight ahead of the road, his voice filled with bitterness. "fine" he spit out and silence fell upon you once again
no, it's back and forth, did I say something wrong?
the tone of his voice made you recoil, your heart sinking. it was a typical thursday night and you haven't seen each other outside of school in what felt like forever. you had only wanted to check up on him, to show him that you cared about his well being. but his words sliced through you like a dagger, leaving you feeling small and insignificant.
"thats great!" you tried to sound cheerful, but your voice betrayed you when those words came out quieter and wobblier than expected. you looked outside of the passenger seat's window, attempting to ignore the unbearable silence in the car. you could hear the joy and euphoria from passing cars and you couldn't help but feel jealousy radiating through you
All I did was speak normally, somehow I still struck a nerve
"why are you always so sensitive?" jay continued, his voice dripping with disdain. "you make everything about yourself. cant you see that I have my own problems to deal with?"
jay could feel your discomfort, he had to. hell, the passing cars could probably feel it "dont be like this" he said, sighing heavily "why do you always ask me that? you saw me at school. did you see me crying? no. so dont ask obvious shit when you already know the answer."
your eyes welled up with tears, voice trembling. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you. I just-" you paused, feeling your throat close up "we haven't hung out in a while and i just wanted to make sure that you were fine"
jay scoffed, his anger intensifying. "you think you can solve all my problems with a simple question? youre so naive. you don't understand anything. fine, coach Madson was a fucking asshole today but i knew you wouldn't understand. isnt a simple 'fine' enough? all you know is how to break out in song and dance with your theater friends"
im the love of your life until I make you mad
your heart shattered as his words echoed in your mind. you had hoped for a moment of connection, a chance to offer support. but instead, you found yourself facing his anger, his frustration, and his complete lack of empathy.
you longed for affection, for those sweet words of love to fall from his lips. but instead, you were met with a wall of unpredictability. one moment, he would hold your hand and make you feel like the most special person in the world. the next, he would push you away, leaving you wondering where you went wrong.
every little thing you did seemed to set him off, like a ticking time bomb ready to explode. his anger was swift and cutting, leaving you feeling small and insignificant. it was a rollercoaster of emotions, and you couldn't help but question if he truly loved you.
jays grip on the wheel tightened even further as you reached a familiar intersection. the red light seemed to mock your mess of a relationship, the halted traffic mirroring your damaged connection.
as the light turned green, he pressed down on the gas pedal, your heart pounding heavily in your chest. the car lurched forward, the engine roaring, but the noise was nothing compared to the deafening silence between you two. the streets blurred as you sped through the night.
in that moment, you realized that jay wasn't capable of providing the love and understanding you have craved. he was a storm of emotions and absolutely unpredictable, lashing out at anyone who dared to get close.
on your late night drives, you would often find yourself bracing for impact. would jay walk you home, or would he send you home crying again? it was a cruel game of chance, and you were trapped in its endless cycle.
"look" he sighed "im sorry for lashing out, im just stressed with-" he paused longer than expected "practice, AP calc, everything, okay? its nothing personal"
his apology didnt change the storm of emotions forming inside you but you tried to tame it as best as possible, trying to look unbothered by his constant outbursts of hatred.
when did it all go wrong? you have known him since forever, his toothy grin and messed up bangs permanently engraved in your head. you managed to form an awkward smile "its okay" its always okay, as long as you were with him
do you love me, want me, hate me?
finally, you arrived at your house, and jay pulled over. the quiet and calm suburb contrasting the chaos in your head. the car idled, the engine still rumbling.
there was a moment of silence, a moment where the weight of your emotions hung in the air. and then, without another word, jay reached over and opened the car door. his gesture made you feel giddy and hope filled your heart. as you stepped out, you gave him your biggest smile
"ill see you tomorrow, text me, okay? i love you"
he didnt say it back nor did he message you that night
no, I don't understand

When Molly told you that she couldn't take Everett to practice on Thursday, you actually whined at her. You were a mess of every emotion that could possibly be felt right now, and you were afraid you'd collapse like a house of cards in a stiff breeze as soon as you saw Bradley's big brown eyes again.
And then you remembered everything Jake said, and you wanted to run Bradley over with your car. You couldn't go on feeling this divided inside. You were exhausted and not sleeping well, and you snapped at Everett over nothing this morning. And now as you were about to pick him up and take him to practice, you needed to get back on track. You needed to stop thinking about Bradley.
"Mom!" Everett said, climbing into your car and buckling up. "Only three more days until the Phillies game."
You sighed and let your forehead rest briefly on your steering wheel before you started pulling out of the parking lot. "Ev, I don't know if that's still happening."
There was silence from the backseat. "Is this because you've been sad?" Your heart was squeezing in your chest as you swallowed hard. "Because the Phillies will cheer you up! And Coach Bradley will be there, and it's not on a tee ball day, so I can just call him Bradley like you do. And we can eat hot dogs like we did at the game last year."
"Ev," you managed to say, but there were tears in your eyes again. "We can talk about it more later, okay?"
"Yeah," he whispered, and you knew he was confused and upset, but you thought this was better than blindsiding him later.
When you got to the ballfield, you made it a point to park far away from the Bronco. You changed your shoes on your way down to the bleachers like you always did, and Bradley came over to greet Everett like he always did. But his eyes were hopeful and set on you, almost like he was relieved.
"Kitten," he whispered in that damn voice that made you see stars when you touched yourself in bed.
"Coach," you replied without emotion, kneeling down in front of Everett to help him change into his cleats.
"I can't tell you how happy I am to see you," Bradley said softly, and you could see him shifting from foot to foot out of the corner of your eye.
You kissed Everett's cheek and sent him over to Bob to warm up. Then you met Bradley's soft gaze with one of steel. "Molly was unavailable today. That's why I'm here. And I thought I told her to tell you to stop sending flowers to my house."
He nodded. "She did."
"Then why are there still flowers being delivered to my house?"
Bradley reached for you, but you stepped away from him. This was good. He was pissing you off. You didn't feel like forgiving him at all. He wouldn't stop with the flowers, and he was trying to touch you even though you didn't want him to.
"Kitten," he whispered.
"Stop calling me that."
He sighed. "I know why you're still mad at me. You should be mad at me. I'm mad at myself." When you didn't respond, he said, "I'll stop sending flowers to your house if you let me walk you and Ev to your car after practice."
It seemed like a small price to pay, honestly. "Fine."
Bradley's eyes lit up like you had agreed to a lot more than walking forty yards with him. "Perfect," he whispered. "I can't wait."
You watched him walk away as you settled on the bleachers. Really, the walk to your car would only take a few minutes, and Everett would be doing most of the talking. You'd be fine. And over time, you'd get over Bradley and the way he broke your heart.
So you watched the practice, trying to focus on Everett, but fully aware that your gaze made its way to Bradley every few minutes. You almost couldn't handle the way he was so sweet with your son, kneeling down to make sure Everett was okay after he got hit with a ball. You didn't have the heart to tell your son that there would be no more hanging out in the park with his coach.
When practice was ending, you pulled Everett's shoes out and braced yourself for the walk to your car with Bradley. It would be fine.
Then you heard the other moms, and you felt like crying again as you looked down at your feet. "I see she's finally back at practice today, Tara." It was Sandra, not even trying to keep her voice down.
"I don't see how she's allowed to be Team Mom if she's never here." What the hell? You only missed one game and one practice!
"Here comes Bradley. I think I'll ask him about it."
But Bradley must have heard them, because you looked up to see him and Everett standing in front of you. "Come on, Sandra, don't give her a hard time for missing a practice," Bradley said, and you gaped at him. He looked angry as he talked to the other moms.
You turned to look at Sandra over your shoulder as she sweetly said, "It was actually a practice and a game, Bradley. And I'd be more than happy to take over her duties."
"No," Bradley said firmly. "She's the best, and I want the best for the team."
"It was just a suggestion," Sandra muttered, glaring at you as you stood and had Everett sit down. You quickly switched his shoes without a word and then you turned to Bradley who was looking at you like you were something to be adored.
"We're walking to the parking lot now," you told him. "And remember, no more flowers after this. Come on, Ev." You watched your son bounce a few steps ahead of you and Bradley, and you decided to be as cordial as you could. "And thanks, but I don't need you to defend me like that. I can take care of myself."
Bradley looked at you while you looked straight ahead. "I know you can. And you can take care of Everett, too. That's part of the reason I find you so sexy."
You pressed your lips together and tried to keep yourself from moaning. It wasn't fair that he was able to make you so confused with just his words. Then he added, "I'll always defend you both, Kitten. Always."
"Bradley," you murmured, emotionally lost between tears and attraction.
"You and Ev, whatever it takes," he rasped, his voice so soft as you watched Everett stop his bouncing.
"Hey, Coach? My mom said we might not be going to the Phillies game."
"Ev," you said, cutting Bradley off before he could say anything. "I said we would talk about it later."
"But Mom, it is later," he replied, and you watched Bradley rubbing his face with his hands in frustration. "And I really want to go!"
Thankfully you were close to your car now, so you started walking a little faster. But you still heard Bradley say, "I really want to go, too."
---------------------------
Bradley's heart was pounding as he opened the back door for Everett just like he used to. You had parked so far away from his Bronco, it made his heart ache even more. Before he closed the door, Bradley leaned in and said, "Great practice today, kiddo. I'll see you on Saturday? You'll be well rested? We need our power hitter against the Tiny Cardinals."
"Yeah, Coach Bradley," he replied with a high five. But Everett's disappointment over potentially missing the Phillies game was palpable, and Bradley's heart clenched as he closed the door.
He turned to look at you, realizing this was his only chance. After this, he wouldn't be able to hold anything over your head to make you talk to him or spend time with him. If he didn't pull this off now, you'd kick him to the curb for good.
"I'm not going to lie to you. I'm never going to lie to you, Kitten," he promised, and he watched your eyes flutter closed as you leaned back against your car door. "I said that shit so many weeks ago, because I was afraid of the way I felt about you. I was dying to get to know you, even after the first day we met. You and Ev? You're perfect, baby. You're obviously too good for me, that much is clear. And I was insecure, and I am embarrassed about it now."
"Bradley," you whispered, looking up at him with tears in your pretty eyes. The urge to touch you was almost too much, but he managed to keep his hands clenched at his sides.
"I know, Kitten. I fucked up with you. I would do anything for you to forgive me, for you to let me try to make this right. Because I want to be with you, be your only ball of yarn. But I will get on my knees right now and beg you to let me take Everett to the Phillies game on Sunday. I'll beg you if that's what it takes, because I can't bear to see him upset. I can't be someone who lets him down after making a promise to him. Please."
You just looked at him, your lip quivering as you wiped the unshed tears from your eyes. The words were right there on the tip of his tongue, but he was too afraid to say them yet. He knew you'd get right in your car and drive away if he dared to say them to you right now. So he nodded once and started to drop down to his knees, but you reached for his arm, keeping him up.
"Don't beg," you whispered, releasing him as soon as you were convinced he wasn't going to kneel down. He wanted your hand back on him immediately, but you were clasping your fingers nervously in front of you now, and Bradley once again couldn't believe he'd done this to you.
You sniffed and then said, "You can take Ev to the Phillies game, but you'll have to find someone else for the third ticket. Maybe Bob will go, too."
Bradley's heart was pounding. You were going to let him take Everett to the game. "Kitten, it's either the three of us going together, or Ev and I will sit with an empty seat next to us. I got that ticket for you."
You licked your lips and nodded, and Bradley was just about to reach for you, but then you said, "After Sunday, I'll figure out how to tell him that you won't be spending time with us outside of tee ball anymore."
And as elated as he felt over being able to take Everett to the game, now he was afraid he was going to cry in front of you. "Kitten, just think about coming with us, okay? Just think about not having that conversation with him."
You started shaking your head, but Bradley caged you in against the door, his fingers brushing your hair. "You won't let me drop to my knees and beg you. You won't let me try to be better for you. Kitten, you're breaking my heart. So please, please just don't make any decisions like that yet. That third ticket is yours if you want it. I don't need an answer yet. Just think about it."
You were just a few inches away from him when you finally nodded, and Bradley let out the breath he had been holding.
"I'll think about it," you whispered, barely meeting his eyes, and he moved out of your personal space as you opened your door and slipped inside. Bradley gently closed the door and watched you drive away as Everett waved to him from the back seat.
As soon as you were out of sight, Bradley's phone rang in his pocket, and he scrambled just in case it was you. Maybe you already decided to give him another chance?
It was Jake. "What do you want?" Bradley growled into his phone.
"Hey, are you coming to the bar tonight? I have some good news for you."
Bradley signed and headed for the Bronco. "This better be the best news I've ever heard."
-----------------------------
You were thankful that Everett's game wasn't until Saturday afternoon, because that meant Molly could come with you. She had been so good to you all week, making sure you had everything you needed and running Everett around when she wasn't working. Plus, she'd been spending a lot of time with Bob.
It was obvious to you that she was smitten with Coach Cute Glasses, and things were starting to heat up a bit for them. You were happy for her, of course you were, but every time you thought about the night that the five of you went out for pizza, you got jealous. You wanted that all the time. But you also wanted Bradley to respect you and Everett.
"You ready to go?" Molly asked Everett as he was dressed in his uniform.
"Ready!" he said with a high five. When you had walked past his bedroom door to make sure he was getting changed for the game, you saw him flipping through the binder of baseball cards that Bradley had apparently dropped off for him. The stuffed Phanatic was back on his bed for now. His Phillies cap was hanging on the doorknob. You were making the right decision by allowing Bradley to take him to the Phillies game. But you were a little sad you'd be missing out.
"Let's go then," Molly told him, bending to tickle his sides. "Stop messing around, Everett. We'll be late if you don't stop," she told him as she continued to tickle him until he escaped and ran out to your car. "God, I fucking love that kid."
You laughed for the first time in so many days. "He's the best."
Molly looked at you cautiously. "Bob told me that Bradley was grounded at work all week. He was a distracted mess, so they wouldn't let him fly."
You gaped at her. "He was?"
"He was," Molly confirmed. "According to Bob, he's a mess over what happened with you. He can barely eat, and he's been drinking a lot of bourbon."
You bit your lip against the feeling of elation filling you up. You didn't necessarily want Bradley to feel that way, and you certainly didn't want anyone to get hurt. But if he was really distraught because of you, then maybe he really did care. Maybe he really did have a change of heart.
"And that's not all," Molly added as you followed her out to your car.
"It's not?" you whispered, heart pounding.
Molly shook her head. "I'm only telling you this, because I'm pretty sure Bobby is incapable of lying. But Bradley told him he's never felt this way before, and he's in it for the long haul, willing to keep trying to get you back. He said you and Everett are perfect."
You froze with your hand on your car door. "He told me that, too, Molly. Do you think I should give him a second chance?"
Your sister sighed and just kind of shrugged at you. "I love you, and I want you to be happy. Did he make you happy when he wasn't being a douche canoe?"
You closed your eyes and pictured him eating ice cream with Everett on his lap. You thought about how he still showed up to Career Day. You thought about sitting on the beach and having cheap burgers and expensive champagne with him. "He did," you whispered, your forehead coming to rest against your car.
"Mom, we'll be late!" Everett called through the closed door, and you lifted your head to look at Molly.
"Maybe let him try to prove that he means what he's saying now, and not what he said before?" Molly suggested.
"Maybe," you agreed, opening your door.
This time you parked a little closer to the Bronco, and when you spotted Bradley, he was already making his way over.
"There's Coach Bradley," Everett announced, hopping out of the car before you even had your seatbelt off. You watched Everett run right for him without hesitation, knowing he'd be welcomed by a hug and a pat on the shoulder. Bradley turned Everett's Tiny Eagles cap around backward just like his, and you could see Everett talking a mile a minute.
"You're staring longingly," Molly remarked.
"I can't help it," you groaned. "I want to believe him. I don't want to have to tell Everett that we can't spend time with him anymore. And I want to go to the damn Phillies game tomorrow."
"Then go," Molly urged. "If he fucks up again, you can pull the plug with no remorse. A third chance is one too many, especially where Everett is concerned."
When you climbed out of the car and made your way toward Bradley, he tracked your every move. "Kitten."
You pressed your lips together. "Hi, Coach," you replied, and you found it impossible to keep emotion from your voice today. Bradley must have noticed it, too, because he took a stumbling step toward you while his hand was still on Everett's shoulder.
"How are you?" he asked, and Molly breezed right past him in search of Bob.
You shrugged and said, "Okay."
"Time to start warming up," Bradley told Everett, and then when your son was gone, he took another step closer to you. "I miss you a lot, Kitten. I've been miserable. The best parts of my week were Career Day and when I got to see you at practice on Thursday. And right now. This is probably the best part of my week."
He was wearing down your resolve with his words and his unshaved face and the exhausted look in his brown eyes. And the fact that this was probably the best part of your week as well was at the forefront of your mind.
Bradley opened his mouth to say something else, but you could hear the umpire calling for the coaches. "You better go," you told him, but he didn't move.
He swallowed hard, brown eyes on yours and asked, "Can we talk more after the game? Walk up to your car again?"
You were nodding before you even knew it, and a hint of a smile graced his lips as he turned toward the team.
-----------------------
When the Tiny Eagles managed to pull out another win, Bradley was happy. But when you let him walk you back to your car while Molly and Everett ran ahead of you, he was elated. Your fingers brushed against his, and Bradley was dying to take your hand in his. But then you moved further away from him.
He cleared his throat and adjusted his hat, beyond nervous about how you were going to respond to him. "I'll be at your house at noon tomorrow. That okay, Kitten?" You turned toward him with a puzzled look, and the afternoon sun made your eyes light up.
"I thought the game started at four?" you asked softly.
"It does. But there's something I wanted Ev to see at the ballpark before the game starts. If that's okay." Bradley was shocked when Jake managed to work his connections to get access to the locker room before the game. Bradley was also allowed to let Everett on the ballfield and pitcher's mound. Now if only you would agree to come, too.
You nibbled on your lip. "That should be fine. I'll have him ready to go at noon." Then you turned away from him and headed for your car, but Bradley reached out for your hand. And you didn't pull away.
"Are you coming too, Kitten? That ticket is yours. Like I told you from the beginning, I'd be happy sitting in any seat where I can see you."
Bradley watched your eyes flutter closed, and he pulled you a little closer by your hand. "Bradley, I don't know if it's a good idea."
"Me and you are a great idea. I didn't quite see it at first. Not the full picture anyway. But I do now."
Your voice was firm, but your eyes were soft as you said, "Everett and I are a package deal. You don't get me without him, and you don't get him without me."
"I understand, Kitten. You're a team. I'm dying to be on that team."
You sucked in a deep breath and said, "I'll see you at noon tomorrow." And then your hand was slipping from his grasp, and you were walking toward your car and pulling out of the parking space. And Bradley still didn't know if you'd be coming to the Phillies with him and Ev or not.
-------------------------
When Bradley pulled up to your house at ten minutes before noon the following day, he had finally reached the point where he would accept what you told him. If you said you didn't want him around any longer after he brought Everett home tonight, he'd let you move on. He'd figure out a way to enjoy the last few weeks of tee ball with Ev, but then he would just get used to missing both of you. At least that's what he kept telling himself.
Everett was bounding out the door wearing a Phillies jersey and his backwards cap before Bradley had even reached the porch. "Bradley! We match!"
Bradley laughed and gave him a hug. "We sure do, kiddo. I'll bet we're the biggest Phillies fans in the whole city."
Everett's eyes went wide. "Yeah. You're probably right." Bradley was eyeing the front door cautiously while Everett asked if he knew who the starting pitchers were going to be.
"I'm not sure, but they'll announce it before the game starts," Bradley muttered, but there was still no sign of you. "Where's your mom, Ev?"
But then there you were, casually strolling out onto your front porch in ripped jeans and a Phillies shirt. And Bradley took that as a very good sign. "Do you want me to drive? Since I have the booster seat for Ev?" you asked, walking down the front steps to join them.
Bradley was gaping at you. "You're coming?" Everett was beaming, looking back and forth between the two of you.
"Yeah, I'm coming," you said softly.
Relief washed over Bradley, and suddenly it felt like the perfect spring day. It felt like he was being given another chance. "I'm happy there won't be an empty seat."
You smiled softly at him. "So you want me to drive?"
Bradley shook his head and reached for your hand and Everett's. "I bought a booster seat and installed it. I can drive."
Your palm slid across his as you echoed him. "You bought a booster seat? For Everett?"
"Yeah," Bradley replied. "And now I'll have it ready for the next time we go somewhere?" He heard the soft sound you made as you watched Everett climb into the backseat, and then Bradley leaned in close, his lips brushing your cheek. "Please, Kitten, tell me there can be a next time?"
You turned a bit, and your lips met Bradley's so softly as you said, "I hope so."
With longing in his heart, Bradley opened the door for you, and then he walked around to the driver's seat. After he started the Bronco and shifted into drive, he let his hand come to rest on the seat, and you took it in yours.
"This is the best day ever!" Everett cheered from the backseat as Bradley headed for Petco Park and the Phillies, feeling better than he had in over a week.

Keep Quiet
paring: eddie munson x fem!reader
summary: eddie visits you in the middle of the night.
a/n: I had a thought... and this is what came (pfft) out of it. Tried writing smut again and this is what was created! Im sorry If feels rushed I didn’t want to write something too long.

12am on a Thursday night was not when you’d expect your boyfriend Eddie Munson to be tapping on your window. You were up late anyways studying for a test the next day and these questions were driving you insane,so seeing the metal lover in your window wasn't exactly a bad thing. You did scolded him though for coming over so late, stressing that your parents would kill you if they found out you had a boy in your room. But Eddie needed to see you, he had been so agitated all day after Jason had made a specific comment about him practically in front of the whole school. Not only that but tonights D&D campaign was a bust, and it left Eddie feeling irritated. He knew one thing would give him peace, and that was you.
So here he was climbing through your window trying not to be too noisy but failing as he tripped over his feet a little when he made it over the windowsill. You shut your window with a soft ‘thump’ once he was through turning around to see him sat on your bed. It squeaked as he shifted to get comfortable on his side, you stare at him deadpanned not at all fazed buy the cheeky grin he gives you.
“Are you nuts?” you whisper shout. “If my parents find out you're here I will be grounded till im out of collage!”
Eddie chuckled, even when you were a little peeved he still found you adorable.
“Relax sweetheart, I parked the van a block away they won’t know i'm here.” He reassures.
His gaze moves to your bed to see open textbooks and notes scattered all over your comforter. He knew you wanted to work hard to get into a good college when you graduate next month, so studying was the best thing to do. Although he did worry you were gonna burn yourself out. Knowing how stressed you got about the future, which was his other reason for coming over so late. you wanted for him to graduate this year as well, seeing as he had been held back for almost three years, but you had a feeling he would do it this year.
You sigh, giving up the fact that he wasn’t leaving your room anytime soon, you moved to sit on the bed next to him and it creaked with your movements. Eddie had picked up one of the open biology books and amilesly started flipping through the pages.
“how's the studying going?” he asked.
You started clearing up some of your notes out of the way to make more room placing them in a neat pile.
“It’s going fine, s’tiring,” you said.
Late nights like this always left you feeling fatigued when you got your brain gears rolling. Eddie helped you stack your books and notes together in a small pile, you figured now was a good time to stop for the night and spend some time with him now that he was here.
Normally you wouldn’t mind Eddie’s late night rendezvous in your bedroom but, you could tell something was on his mind. You noticed how he would fidget with his rings or bounce his knee when he was anxious about something, and he was doing it now causing you to frown.
“Eds? what's wrong?” you asked.
He’s staring off to the side deep in thought you could see in his eyes unmoving. His head snapped up at you when he broke out of his trance.
“It’s nothing,” he waves you off.
“no, come on tell me,” you place your hand on top of his resting in the sheets.
Eddie sighs, stands up and his back faces you. He knows he can tell you anything and everything but he thought his problems seemed insignificant to your own. Something was definitely bothering him big time. You were patient with him though as you waited for him to finally speak his mind. As he told you all about his day you were nothing but focused on him as he paced back and forth. he left out what exactly Jason had said to him but you could tell it really struck a nerve with Eddie with the way he talked. You wished you could give Jason and his goons a piece of your mind for how they made your boyfriend feel, it wasn’t fair that they picked on Eddie and the rest of Hellfire club just for being different.
“He’s just such a pick! ugh I can’t stand him.”
When he was done he flopped back down to your bed, it creaks and shifts even louder. God you hated your bed, it was so uncomfortable and loud. Eddie lay there staring up at the ceiling with his arms sprawled out. You crawled over his legs to straddle him, his hands immediately find home on your hips and you smile down at him. An idea crosses your mind, you lean down and press your lips to Eddies. He hums in surprise but kisses you back without hesitation.
“Wait sweetheart,” he says pulling away. “We can’t.”
“Why not?” You pout and place your hands on his chest, rolling your hips slowly forward right on his growing bulge. He moans lowly the sound coming deep within his chest, he grabs your hips firmly to stop the friction between you both and you smirk. Aha, you got him. As much as he would love to fuck you senseless right now, it was still the middle of the night and your parents were sound asleep down the hall.
“Well for one, your parents are home,” he says a matter a factly. “and two,”
He sifts under you so your bed moves and creaks under the weight of your bodies.
“Your bed is too noisy.”
“You need it though babe, I hate seeing you this work up, you need it.”
Another epiphany crosses your mind, you stand up facing him. Eddie frowns at you as you dip your fingers in the waistband of your sleep pants and let them fall to the floor. Your underwear was still on as you stepped out of your shorts, your hands reach down to swiftly pull off your shirt leaving you bare. Eddie’s mouth parts slightly his eyes going darker at the sight in front of him. He was constantly in awe at your beauty and thought you were some goddess who he was lucky to worship. He admired your body from afar, lingering his eyes on places he knew would make you blush. The ache between your legs was prominent now as his eyes moved down your body, drinking in your naked form for the first time that night.
“You are so gorgeous baby girl,” he declared truthfully.
Your cheeks heated at the comment, you were suddenly so aware of him staring at you like a starved man ready to devour you. You walk back over to him and sway your hips taunting him, his hands reach up to cup your hips and knead your ass as you stand over him. He leans forward and presses kisses to the spot above your belly button and trailing up. Your fingers thread through his mane of hair and it feels so soft on the tips of your fingers. You can smell his signature shampoo wafting in the air, the husky cedarwood fills your senses and you whine when his mouth reaches your breasts taking your nipple between his lips.
You reach down to the bottom of his hellfire shirt and pull it up over his head as he eagerly gets to work taking off his belt. You throw his shirt on your bed and move off him once more. You grab a pillow from your bed and walk to the middle of your room. Eddie watches you confused before realization stretches across his face. Oh. He quickly gets his pants off the rest of the way before standing up. You got down on your hands and knees and he marveles at how you sick your ass up, you look over your shoulder and send him a wink. Oh. It suddenly clicks in his brain what you wanted him to do. He swallowed thickly and got down on his knees behind you.
“Burry that pretty face of yours in that pillow to muffle those sounds, don't want anyone to hear you.”
You did as you were told as he positioned the tip of his cock at your entrance teasing you by rubbing it sensually up and down your slit collecting your arousal dripping out of your cunt.
“cause Im gonna fuck you hard princess.”
-
Your nails dug into your blue carpet as Eddie railed into you from behind, his pace was hard and fast making you want to cry out in ecstacy, but you couldn’t. One sound out of you and this whole thing would be over, that was the agreement. Your face was buried into the pillow you put on the ground for some form of comfort as you panted. A wet puddle of your saliva was forming under your mouth, Eddie was grunting lowly trying so hard not to make any sounds as well from behind you. His hands gripped your waist, fingers bruising your skin harshly. You could feel his cold rings on your hips leaving dents while cooling down your burning skin making a nice contrast of the hotness forming between you both. You occianlay fuck yourself back on him and he lowly moans when you do.
“Yeah, just like that kitten.” he groans.
You knew how badly he wanted this, no, needed this from you. It was a chance for him to let off some steam. Besides, it was good for you as well. You loved when Eddie had his way with you in any way he wanted. He always had a yearn for control and dominance, and you were more than happy to give it to him that when he needed it the most.
You whine a little too loudly your pillow when the tip of his cock hit’s a certain spot within you. He sush’s you bringing his hand from your waist up your back, he grips the back of your neck so he can lean over you more. He bottom’s out of your cunt causing him to groan.
“Sweetheart, remember you gotta keep quiet,” he grunts. “if not i'm gonna have to stop.”
His hips never falter as he whispers to you through the darkness. The only light in through your room was the orange glow of your bedside lamp. Eddie could see your ass and hips perfectly since he had you in the direct light on the floor. It takes everything in you not to moan out his name as he drives his cock deeper and deeper into you.
“Eddie please, faster.” you whisper.
He leans down so his chest is pressed against your back. He moves your hair to one side and his lips graze your ear. You can feel the sweat forming between your bodies as
“So fucking dirty babe, you like me pounding your pretty pussy from behind while your parents are home?”
You nod vigorously into the pillow
His pace is relentless you know he's trying to reach his own climax but he was always thinking of you in these situations. Knowing it sometimes took longer for you to finish, so he’d always would hold back for you. He wanted you to come first always, knowing he’d never truly be satisfied until you were.
Eddie’s fingers move down to your clit rubbing slow hard circles, you moan and can feel yourself getting close and he knows it from the way your pussy grips around him.
“fuckk Eddie,”
“yeah princess? you gonna cum?”
“yes,” you gasp.
Your hands grip the carpet tighter as you feel your realse building causing your knuckles to turn white. Your muffled moans egg him on to move faster and faster. Your head was spinning at the angel he was driving into you, reaching your sweet spot perfectly. He had never fucked you like this before, there was something so carnal about his animalistic side of him coming out just drove you mad and on the tipping point of climax.
“Fucking cum for me baby, coat my cock in your sweetness.” he growls.
It takes everything in you not to scream out while he pounds into you, his breaths are unsteady echoing through your room. At this point you could care less if your family woke up, all you cared about was Eddie fucking you so good it had you shaking. when your orgasm rocks your body you wither and cry out into the pillow. Eddie pulls out and lets go of your hips, his hold on you was the only thing keeping you upright and you slump down to the floor slowly.
Eddie grips your ankles and quickly flips you onto your back so that you’re in missionary. He leans over you, hands on either side on your head cageing you beneath him. You lean up to kiss his lips softly, the ends of his hair tickles your chest as he kisses you back hotly. He lines his cock up with your entrance again and sinks into you. It doesn't take long for his orgasm to build up again as he thrusts into you. Soon enough he stills his hips with his cock inside your cunt, coating your walls with hot cum. He buries his face in the crook of your neck kissing your skin softly. His groans die down after a couple minutes, you kiss his temple and brush his locks away that were sticking to his face from sweat.
You both laid on the floor in a soft embrace coming down from your surging highs. Sweat dewed across your skin, you could still taste his tongue in your mouth from when he kissed you.
“shit babe,” he chuckles.
He slowly pulls out of you and gets up but comes back a second later, you feel a towel cleaning you up between your legs gently. When he was done he throws the cloth in your laundry basket and scoops you up in his arms and brings you over to your bed, getting under the covers and holding you close to his chest. Eddie rubs slow circles on your back as his presses a kiss to your forehead, you tilt your head up to look at him smirking.
“Maybe you should get pent up more often.” you say.

you- through hyunjin's eyes.
words: 1,034 pairing: hwang hyunjin x gn reader genre: fluff, artsy hyunjin, quite romantic really, artsy hyunjin is literally so in love with you.
The Louvre is especially crowded today. People cascading down the stairs in crowds as you make your way up with your lover's hand in yours on a relatively colder Paris Thursday evening. The pair of you are making your way to the Greek exhibition section of the museum.
"Oh look we're here." Hyunjin's words come out as a sparse cloud of white vapour from his pink lips as he takes your hand and leads you to the section you both have been looking for. Upon entering you're greeted with a plethora of delicately crafted statues. You let out a soft exhale in wonder as your gaze observes the statues. "It's amazing how stone figures can look so delicate and silky.", your face stretched into a wide eyed smile as you took in the sight Hyunjin hummed in agreement as he shifted his gaze towards your fascinated and awestruck features.
Hyunjin has his gaze fixated on you through the scarf around his neck that covers the near lower half of his face. As you both strolled away around the gallery, you admired the art, with your hand in his, while Hyunjin was rather oblivious of the artistry of the porcelain statues, giving you only a few hums and chuckles as his response, every time you asked him anything rhetorical about the intricate physiognomy of the statues. Make no mistakes here, Hyunjin is a lover and admirer of almost any form of art by his heart. But today, at this very occasion, standing in the world's most prestigious art museum,
he can't help himself.
The only art capable of capturing and holding his gaze present in this very gallery, is you. No art satisfied his heart, quenched his thirst now that he knows what it's like to be able to look at you at your rawest.
Your eyes widening every time you make your way to a new statue, right before crinkling into a smile as they sparkle in exhilaration. The curve of your eyelashes that surround your sclera, creating the faintest shadow due to the lighting. The faint yet visible rosy red shade of your nose, shining under the lights of the gallery. The silhouette of your hair right above your eyes as they fall in uneven strands, framing your face. The rising of your awestruck eyebrows at the sight before you. The round of your cheeks when they rise as you smile your widest not caring if you look good or not. The lopsidedness of your true smile revealing your teeth that adorn your face perfectly. Every little bump, spot and pore of your skin. He could never get tired of it all.
Hyunjin's heart gave him the impression that it could explode. He loved it. He loved every little aspect of you, that maybe you haven't even discovered. His heart feels so full at times like this. You're a breath of fresh air, a healing breeze on a tiring day. You're just so human and real. Every little spot, bump, hair, line, curve and hollow added to the masterpiece that's you. He couldn't care less about the symmetry. He loves all your little details. Every time he has painted you, with or without clothes, he's just left breathless by the end of it, you're just so perfect, those brush strokes could never do you justice. He thanks his lucky stars everyday to be able to be this close to you, to be able to know you to the extent he does.
"Hyunnie are you feeling okay?" you squeeze his hand when you spot him quieter than usual.
"Huh? Yes yes. I'm fine I was just observing the statue a little too deeply." he snaps out of his trance with an embarrassed chuckle. "You haven't said much since we've been here, is there something I can help with?" you ask, placing your hand on his cold cheek. "I promise, I'm fine baby. I can get too immersed sometimes you know, it's nothing more." He reassured you with a firm squeeze on your hand that he had been holding. You giggle in response, "Oh I see my boyfriend's nerdy artist side is really enjoying this visit then. I'm glad." That full and whole feeling in his heart intensifies at the sound of your hearty giggle. He pulls you close gently by the waist, to plant a kiss on your forehead, "Can I take pictures of you here?". His breath fans your lips as he seeks permission, "Just my personal collection." You smile at his cuteness and nod in approval.
The next few minutes are accompanied by flash less clicks of his camera and your wide varieties of poses. You're not that great of a poser, so he helps you and guides you through it as usual. He does love it when you do your own thing though. He thinks it captures your essence the best. When he's done he gives you a thumbs up and you make your way back to him to look at his captures. He shows them to you with pride, "You're so gorgeous, hun." he mutters as he continues showing you his clicks. "It's mostly just your photography." you chuckle. He rolls his eyes at you a little and shakes his head.
Hyunjin is a lot of things but something he isn't is a verbally expressive person. He struggles to say the right things, at the right time and voice exactly how he feels despite being a deeply emotional person. So he always tries to show you what he sees through the clicks of his camera, a few poems here and there and paintings and sketches carefully hand drawn with love. He never thought of them as much, but this was his way of expressing his whole hearted admiration and love for you. He swears one day he'll make you see yourself in all your glory just the way he sees you.
Hyunjin puts his hand under your chin and makes you look up to face him, he places a tender and lingering kiss to your mouth that catches you off guard.
"These pixels could never begin to interpret your beauty, and I'm just an amateur with a camera, Y/N."

I think tattoorry would like to go under her shirt and lay his head on her boobs because they’re nice and soft and warm <3
:)))
. . .
"Harry?"
There's a rustling from underneath the baggy tee-shirt she wears, a makeshift hand-me-down from her boyfriend. It's a Thursday evening and a weekend of hot chocolates and bundled up walks around the neighborhood is deliciously close. But for now, Y/N is growing antsy knowing she has homework due tomorrow that she's only halfway through on — and clearly, Harry has different plans that consist of burrowing under her top to nestle close to her warm skin.
It had initially started out as a joke, Y/N thinks. She didn't feel particularly in love with her long-haired partner tunneling beneath the fabric to nuzzle and kiss her chest, but once she realized it wasn't an inherently sexual act — he seemed to enjoy the simple joy of being close to her, which she understands — she learned to like it. Adore it, even, but only when she hadn't spent the past hour watching TV by herself, over the curve of his hand tucked into her bralette.
She hears a muffled hm? and sighs, lifting the hem of the worn shirt.
"I have to do homework. I need you out."
"You can do homework while I'm loving on the girls."
Another development — one Y/N feels less pleased with — was Harry's recent nicknaming of her breasts. According to her roommate, Lucy, this was a semi-normal thing (she'd had partners in the past who also expressed some sort of attachment to her chest, for one reason or another), but it just made Y/N wrinkle her nose.
"I thought we agreed on not referring to them as that." she replies.
"As what? The girls?"
"Yes, Harry. The girls."
"But, they're my girls," he says with a genuine pout, lifting his head out from underneath the material. He presses his chin over her newly covered chest, and she swears he's pushing his bottom lip out on purpose in some kind of cute, mopey huff. "And... they belong to my girl. My number one girl."
She lets out another sigh and allows her eyes to quickly dart to the digital clock beneath Harry's TV.
"Fine, you can have five more minutes. But that's it, okay? It's kind of getting weird."
A grin instantly breaks out across Harry's face as he quickly nests himself back to his originally position.
"By the way, 's not weird." he mumbles against her skin.
She shakes her head with a small smile.

Austin, Texas
Joel Miller called you every morning the following week leading up to your anticipated first date. You both were giddy with nervous excitement. He wanted this date to be perfect in every sense. Sure, he could take the typical route and wine and dine you but where was the fun in that? It was clear that neither of you were the conventional type and that was one of the many reasons why he was attracted to you. Despite your hectic schedule between taking care of the horses, teaching lessons, and bartending in between, Joel wanted to make sure that you had an enjoyable evening with him. By Thursday, he was a flustered mess. He had his doubts that maybe you would call and cancel on him. Maybe it was too soon for you, or on the off chance, he would end up being so nervous that he would end up chickening out on you entirely.
“You’re um–you’re still excited for Friday, right darlin’?” He held his phone against his ear, tapping his fingers across the steering wheel. He had just pulled into the parking lot of the jobsite he and Tommy would be working at for the next few days.
“Joel, I literally have not been able to stop thinking about our upcoming date all damn week. You know I almost ate shit yesterday cause I was too busy thinking about you? You’re gonna have to start paying rent if you wanna live in my mind like that mister.” You held your phone against your chin and shoulder as you were filling up Whiskey’s water bucket, leaning against his stall door while he happily ate his morning grain.
Joel felt the heat rise to his cheeks when you admitted that you had been thinking about him, and the date, just as much as he had been. “Well, I'm really sorry that my devilishly handsome mug almost caused you to eat shit darlin.’ I just..i’m nervous if i’m bein’ honest, and I know that ain’t what you want to be hearin’ from a man right now. Y’know I just have been off my game for so long and I just don’t wanna screw this up.”
You reached over and gave whiskey a light pat on his neck, threading your fingers through his silky soft cream colored mane. “Easy there now cowboy, I said you were handsome, not devilishly handsome.” You giggled. “Joel, its okay that you’re nervous. In fact, if you weren’t a little bit nervous i’d actually be pretty concerned. You’re doing just fine, okay? I appreciate your honesty. Not many men would be admitting to their first date jitters. You’re cute, Joel and I highly doubt there’s any way for you to screw this up.”
Joel softly chuckled as he rested his head back against his worn headrest in his truck. “I know darlin’ I was just teasin’ ya. Thank you for validatin’ my feelings. You’re a real peach, you know that? Also, I 100% will be thinking about you all damn day now just ‘cus you said i’m handsome AND cute. You see what you’re doin’ to me darlin’? Turnin’ my fuckin’ brain to actual mush.”
“Peach is actually my middle name, believe it or not. Good! Your brain should be turning to mush because you’re living in mine rent fucking free man.” You giggled.
“Wait, is it really? Darlin’..are you messin’ with me right now?”
“Oh, I absolutely am. I gotcha there huh?”
“I was believin’ you for a good second there hun. Listen, you know i’d love nothin’ more than to chat with ya all mornin’ but I gotta run unfortunately. Tommy and I got this big project to start on. I hope you have a wonderful day and say hi to the boys for me, okay?”
“No worries. I gotta get some shit done around here before my 9 o'clock lesson gets here. I hope you have a wonderful day as well Joel. I’ll tell the boys you say hello.”
“Talk to ya later darlin.’”
“See ya around, cowboy.”
Joel ended the call as he let out a soft, content sigh. He grabbed his tool box from the passenger seat as he hopped out of his truck. He tucked his phone into his tool belt around his waist before he clapped his younger brother on the shoulder.
“Wow. You’re early for once Joel.” Tommy said with a grin as he tightened the laces on his boots. “So, you all ready for your big date tomorrow? You’re not gonna be an ass and chicken out on this girl, right?”
Joel was tightening his tool belt around his waist so it fit more snuggly. “Oh, I'm excited alright. Nervous as all hell at the same time. I really don’t wanna mess this up. I uh–I actually just got off the phone with her. We talk every mornin’ and it's become apart of both of our routines.”
Tommy let out a playful gag as he straightened his back after tightening his boots. “Oh Christ. You really have just completely gone and turned into a fuckin’ sap. Never actually thought I'd live to see this day.” He chuckled.
“Yeah, yeah. You just wait till you get to meet her. You’ll see exactly what I'm talkin’ about then. Can you still come over tomorrow and watch Sarah?”
“Ohhh. So, you’re already thinkin’ about bringing her around? You’re down so bad big brother. Course I can watch Sarah. Love that kiddo man. Besides, she fills me in on all the important stuff.” He winked.
“Well..uh–I hope that I will eventually be bringin’ her around. You and Sarah are like two peas in a pod I swear.”
“I cannot fuckin’ wait to meet the bird that has taken my poor big brother’s heart! Sarah’s my favorite niece. What can I say?”
“She’s your only niece Tommy.” Joel corrected him.
“Shuddup. You knew what I meant.”

Thursday had flown by for both you and Joel and Friday evening had rolled around faster than either of you had expected. It was 5pm and Joel was puttering around his house, making sure he had everything ready. Joel was taking you to a local drive-in movie and he had gone as far to set up his truck bed with pillows and blankets. He wanted you to be comfortable. That was 100% his main concern was your comfort above all. He had even gone and picked up a bunch of snacks and placed them all in a cooler with a couple beers and water.
Just as he was placing the cooler in the bed of his truck, Tommy had pulled in the front of the house and hopped out of his own truck. He had the board game tucked under his armpit for him and Sarah to play. “What in god’s green fuckin’ earth have ya gone and done to your truck Joel?”
“Huh? What’re you–Oh. The pillows and shit? Well, I'm takin’ her to the local drive-in. Do you think it's too much?I just wanna make sure shes comfortable..”
“Oh my god, of course you’re takin’ her to the drive-in! You sly sly dog.” He chuckled. “Joel, I'm sure she’s gonna love it, and especially since you’ve put a ton of effort into this whole thing.”
“Hey! It ain’t like that Tommy. I was gonna take her to that one taco place in town..pick some food up and then we’re gonna go to the drive-in.”
“Brother, I'm just messin’ with ya! Relax. You are gonna kiss her at the end of the night right? She’s probably gonna expect you to.”
Joel rubbed the back of his neck nervously. He most definitely had not thought that far ahead yet. Was Tommy right? Were you going to expect him to kiss you by the end of the date? Was that something that you’d even want? “Oh..well I honestly haven’t thought that far ahead. Shouldn’t I be takin’ it slow?”
“My word of advice to ya is just to just see what signs she’s givin’ ya. I ain’t sayin’ y’all have to kiss or anythin’, but just to keep that in the back of your mind is all i’m sayin.’”
Joel let out a huff as he hopped down from the bed of his truck and closed the latch over the top as he dusted his pants off. “Okay, I'll keep that in mind.”
Tommy brought his arm around his shoulder, giving his brother a side hug. “Good man. Now, what’re you wearin’?”
“Fuck if I know.”
“Sarah and I will help ya find somethin.’”

After turning the horses out for the evening, you locked the barn up before heading to your apartment to quickly get ready. Your first date jitters were coming in full force as you quickly showered. You just wanted to know where your Texas tall glass of water was taking you for the evening. The possibilities with Joel were clearly endless. You had not felt this excited about a guy since the situation with your ex.
By 6pm, you were scrambling to finish getting ready. Your room, and bathroom were a complete disaster as you struggled putting an outfit together. You didn’t want to look sloppy and you also didn’t want to look like you were trying too hard. Ugh. Why was being a girl so difficult sometimes? Was Joel facing the same struggles as you were right now?
At 6:15 you finally decided on going with some simple light washed jeans, a cute top and a flannel, in case it got chilly. You paired it with a nicer pair of sneakers that didn’t have scuff marks all over them. Overall, you felt pretty confident in your outfit choice. You were torn between doing a full makeup look in the beginning but with the time crunch, you only had time to swipe a bit of mascara over your lashes and lip gloss on your lips.
Your phone rang loudly from the kitchen where it was charging. You raced to grab it, flipping it open as you brought it up to your ear.
“Hey darlin.’ I’m about to head on over. Are you ready or do ya need more time? There’s no rush or anythin–”
“Hey Joel. Yeah, I'm ready. See you soon?” You lightly chewed on the tip of your thumbnail. The butterflies were absolutely swarming in your stomach.
“Perfect. See ya soon darlin.’”
The call ended and you spent the next 10 minutes furiously looking over your appearance in the mirror. You checked to make sure you had nothing stuck between your teeth and even gave your armpits the sniff test just to make sure. As soon as you heard a knock on the front door of your apartment, the butterflies erupted again as you grabbed your purse and slung it over your shoulder. With a deep breath you unlatched the lock and opened it.
On the other side of your apartment door was your Texas tall glass of water. He had a bundle of fresh wildflowers grasped between his hands. You could tell he had picked them himself just by the fact that there was some brown twine holding them together. You both stared at each other for a long moment as you seemingly were taken in one another’s appearance.
“Wow.” He breathed out, letting his shoulders relax. “You look beautiful.”
“You clean up pretty well yourself cowboy.” You said with a small grin. Joel must have been in a nervous rush just like you because his T-shirt was very clearly on backwards. “Uh, Joel? I think your shirt is on backwards.”
Joel’s cheeks immediately felt hot as the realization dawned upon him. “Aw shit. Y’know I would have thought that my brother would have told me this before I left the house.” He grumbled quietly. “Oh! These are for you..I uh– picked them earlier while I was on the job-site. They kinda just..reminded me of you..I hope you like them.” He handed you the homemade bouquet of wildflowers and much to your surprise, he wasted no time to pull his t-shirt over his head. As soon as you caught a glimpse of his broad, tan chest, you inhaled a shaky breath. The exposure of skin was quickly covered with the shirt on the right way now.
“They’re beautiful. Thank you for thinking of me Joel. That was awfully sweet of you. Let me just put them in a vase real quick and then we can be on our way?”
“I would have gone to the store and gotten you roses or somethin’ but that didn’t seem like your style.” He leaned against the doorjamb as you headed into your cute little cozy kitchen. He watched as you grabbed a vase from a cabinet and filled it up with a bit of water before placing the bouquet inside. You joined him outside the door, locking it behind you before his hand was at your lower back, leading you down the stairs to his truck.
Chivalry was alive and well thanks to Joel Miller. He held the passenger side door open for you, and even gave you a little boost into the seat. Once you were buckled in, and he was situated in the driver's seat, he had placed his hand on the back of your seat as he leaned over the center console and checked over his shoulder as he backed out of the parking spot.
Why was that alone so fucking hot? He smelled amazing too. He was wearing an intoxicating delicious cologne and you would absolutely love to just bury your face into his neck–
“Did ya hear me darlin’?”
“What? No..I’m sorry I didn’t. I zoned out there for a second.”
“S’alright hun. I asked if you were a fan of tacos? There’s this place not far from here that has some good ones. Also, the best takeaway margaritas that Austin Texas has to offer.”
“You had me at tacos and margaritas.” You looked over at him from the passenger seat.
“Awesome. I had a feelin’ you’d be into it but just wanted to make sure, y’know?” He cleared his throat slightly as he had one hand on the steering wheel and the other was resting along the center console. “I meant what I said earlier. You look beautiful.”
“Oh, yeah. I love tacos. Literally my favorite food of all time.” You glanced down at his hand briefly as it rested along the center console. Before your brain could stop you, you boldly grabbed his hand and interlaced your fingers together. His palm beneath yours was warm, slightly clammy from the nerves, and you could tell he used his hands a lot just from the texture of calluses on his skin. These were the hands of a true, rugged man. Woof.
Joel felt his breath hitch in his throat the second his fingers were wrapped around yours. Man, you were ballsy tonight. “Well, you’re in for a real treat tonight darlin.’” He gave your hand a soft squeeze, glancing over at you momentarily. He quite liked the way your hand felt around his.
The casual small talk floated between the two of you in the confines of his truck. The radio was softly playing in the background as you told Joel about your day, and how Dieter tried to escape from his stall yet again. Joel was attentively listening to you as he kept his eyes focused on the road. He laughed as you told the story of Dieter, the mischievous Norwegian Fjord, almost escaped again. He truthfully could listen to you talk for hours. You were so animated with your words and it was so hard for him to not be drawn in. As cheesy as it sounds, he felt like he was a moth to flame when it came to you.
You were holding hands the entire drive to the taco place. It was a drive through luckily and he went ahead and placed an order for steak tacos for himself, and veggie for you. Along with chips and guac and two cowboy margaritas. He only slipped his hand out of your grip to pay, and grabbed the bag of food and the two styrofoam cups that contained the margaritas. Once everything was situated, he was reaching for your hand once more.
“What the hell is Cowboy Margarita?” You asked as you took a small sip from the straw.
Joel looked over at you with mocked disappointment written across his face. “Oh my dear, only the best fuckin’ margarita you can get your pretty lil hands on.”
“Oh wow. This is fucking delicious! Holy shit. Where have these been all my life?”
Where have you been all my life? He thought to himself.
“Told ya. Best margarita Austin Texas has to offer.”
You took another sip as you made yourself comfortable in the passenger seat. “So, where are you actually taking me cowboy?”
“Well, darlin.’ That would go and ruin the surprise and I ain’t about to do that.”
“Damn. You can’t even give me a little hint?”
“Afraid not hun.”
“Bastard.” you muttered under your breath with a light giggle.
Joel let out a chuckle as he drove a few miles down the road. It was a beautiful evening. There was a cool breeze that drifted in through the open windows of Joel’s truck. The breeze kissed your cheeks tenderly. He had pulled off into a field, where there were about 30 other cars parked in front of a projector screen. Joel felt his heart flutter out of his chest when you looked at him with the biggest grin. “No fucking way. You brought me to a drive-in? I’ve always wanted to go to one!”
He parked a few spots down from another truck with the bed of his truck facing the screen before he cut the ignition. “Course I did. I had a feeling that you’d really enjoy somethin’ like this. That ain’t even the best part. C’mon.” He hopped out of the driver's seat and you followed after him.
To your surprise, Joel had decked out the entire bed of his truck with pillows and blankets. You could tell he thoroughly thought this entire thing through and paid attention to all the little details. “You are unbelievable, you know that?”
“I know. I just wanted to make sure you were nice and comfy s’all.” He grabbed the two margaritas, and the bag of food and set it alongside the bed of the truck before he came alongside you, gently grabbing your waist as he hoisted you up.
His warm touch along your skin was enough to have your head spinning as you watched him effortlessly pull himself into the bed of the truck. “Take a picture darlin.’ it’ll last longer.” He shot you a wink as he grabbed the bag of food and handed you your drink before he scooted himself back against the pillows and patted the spot next to him.
You wasted no time scooting yourself over to him as he handed you your wrapped tacos with a few napkins. “What movie is on tonight?”
“The Parent Trap. You’ve seen it before?”
“Only about a hundred times. Easily one of the best Disney movies out there.”
“It’s one of Sarah’s favorites as well. I was hopin’ they were gonna show a horse film or somethin’ but this was the next best option.”
Once the movie started, you and Joel were comfortably eating your food. Your shoulders were brushing against one another along with your knees. You both were aware of the close proximity and yet, the butterflies had stilled in your stomach. The nerves had dissipated finally. Joel was a complete gentleman as he gathered up your trash and placed it in the bag and off to the side.
“Would it be alright if I–”
“Yes.” You didn’t even let him finish asking the question. You knew exactly what it was that he was about to ask.
“Damn, woman. Don’t go and gettin’ too excited now darlin.’ I’m just puttin’ my arm around ya is all.” He chuckled.
“Shh. This is one of my favorite parts.” You whispered.
Joel fought the urge to playfully roll his eyes at your remark before he brought his arm around you, gently pulling you into his chest while he stretched his legs out. What he wasn’t expecting you to do was ever so casually hike your thigh up over his waist as you made yourself comfortable. “Is this okay?” You whispered.
“Yeah. I’m good darlin.’ You comfy?”
“Absolutely cowboy.”
No funny business took place during the entirety of the film. Joel could hardly focus on the screen because of the searing heat he felt from your warm thigh stretched out over him. You were entirely clouding his senses. You were an absolute doll on helping him clean up and throw out the trash from your food.
The drive back to your apartment was filled with “Long Long Time” by Linda Ronstadt. The windows were down all the way and you and Joel were belting the lyrics together. He couldn’t sing to save his life but did he care? Absolutely not. He was just more than happy to be involved. This was by far the most fun he had ever had on a date. No, he wasn’t just saying that to sweeten you up. He meant it. He felt like he was a teenager all over again. (not that 34 is old in the slightest). You were just the breath of fresh air that he couldn’t get enough of.
He walked you up to your apartment door of course. The poor man couldn’t pick up on your signals as you leaned back against your closed door facing him. You wanted this man to kiss you so fucking bad and he had no clue. “I had a really great time tonight Joel. I don’t know why you were so nervous in the first place, cause you seriously knocked this one out of the park and I mean that sincerely.”
Do I kiss her? Tommy said I should keep that in mind but what if–
“I’m beyond happy to hear that darlin.’ This was the most fun I've ever had on a date. I’m serious about that too. I really had a great time with you. Is it safe to say that a second date is in our future?”
“Second, Third, Fourth. Indefinitely. You know how to treat a lady right, that’s for damn sure.” You were looking up at him expectantly. You were waiting for the moment that he would lean down and finally kiss you. Oh please, just fucking grab my waist and kiss me. Please. Please. Please. I have been wanting to kiss you all goddamn night Joel.
Joel was a complete deer in headlights. It was as if his mind had completely frozen over and he forgot how to function. “I’ll uh–see you soon darlin’?” He leaned down and finally—kissed you on the cheek.
Motherfucker.
Joel was already turning on his heel and down the metal steps when you had called out to him.
“Hey, cowboy? Will you fucking kiss me already?”
Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit.
Joel had never moved so fast in his life. He nearly gave himself whiplash with how fast he had turned on his heel. His footsteps were moving faster than his brain process as he returned to you. Before you could get another word in, he grasped your face in his warm palms and finally kissed you. You could tell he was hesitant, and a little rusty, but you happily were there to guide him along as you let your arms drape around his neck. You finally got to feel just how soft this man’s hair was as you threaded your fingers through the back of his head. The tendrils of curls were silky soft. You felt your back press firmly against your apartment door as his lips moved against yours. His hands had dropped from your face and found purchase around your waist. “Is this–is this okay?” He mumbled into your lips.
“Yes, Joel. You’re fine. I promise.” You gripped his hair a little tighter as he breathed hot air into your mouth. You could taste a hint of tequila on his tongue as you breathed in his cologne. As soon as his tongue swiped across your lower lip, your lips parted open for him as he explored your mouth. His kisses grew desperate as the familiar feelings flooded back to him. Joel’s kisses tasted warm, sweet, and they were absolutely addicting. He melted on your tongue like fucking putty.
You let your free hand drop down to the door, you were already moving to push it open when he had stopped you. Your wrist was pinned up against the side of the door. Encaged in his warm grip. “No. Not tonight darlin.’” He rasped. “I want to. You’ve got no fuckin’ clue how badly I want to but you’re worth more than that. I wanna properly date you. I don’t want it to just be a one time thing. You deserve so much fuckin’ better than that.” His lips had detached from yours as his forehead gently rested against yours. His breathing was staggered and his heart was racing out of his chest, clamoring against his ribcage.
Your lips were swollen with his kisses as your lashes slowly fluttered open. The only visible light was from the shitty one above your apartment door. Your breath hitched in your throat when his freehand, that wasn’t engaging your wrist, came up to your face. His thumb brushed across your plush lower lip, tugging it down slightly. “Joel..”
“I know, sweet girl. I know. I promise that it will happen. I’ll take care of you. Every fuckin’ inch of you, okay? I’ll fuckin’ worship you darlin.’”
“Joel.” You whispered through the thick tension between the two of you. “Please kiss me.”
The gap was closed once more. This kiss was less desperate than the last. This was a sweeter kiss. A kiss enveloped in promise that was etched upon your lips. A promise that you meant more to him than just a quick fuck. A promise that he didn’t want this to be a one time thing. Joel wanted to date you. He wanted to properly date you so fucking bad.
A few more tender kisses were shared before he reluctantly pulled away. He hugged you to his chest firmly, lifting you off your feet momentarily as you brought your arms around his broad shoulders. “I’ll call you when I get home, okay? Get some sleep sugar.”
“You too Joel.” You felt his arms slowly loosen around you as he set you back down onto the ground. His lips brushed against your forehead in a soft kiss before you could no longer feel his warmth and when your eyes opened, he was already heading down the stairs.
You let out a deep sigh as you pushed open the door of your apartment and locked it behind you. You broke out into little lovesick giggles as you sank down against the closed door. You replayed the entire date out in your mind. Your Texas tall glass of water was something else entirely.
As soon as Joel arrived at home, he called you. You were waiting for him of course. Despite the fact that your eyes were struggling to stay open, you both wished each other sweet dreams once more.

Mason Mount x reader
Word count: 1.2k
Summary: Mason is nervous to know about the worldcup squad
Warnings: Fluff, Angst? And a little grumpy/nervous Mason
Notes: Just a short little oneshot. And also I don't know how the process works so lets just pretend that they see the list if that's not how it actually works.
Tumblr media
Thursday afternoon was always lazy. It had been a long week of work and only one to go before the weekend. You still had some work to do but you'd finished the office day early and did the rest at home in your couch
"Hey, what are you doing?" Mason gruffed from the door opening, your head turned to him with a frown. "What is that tone?" you huffed at him
He didn't even respond to your remark, same annoyed expression on his face "what's for lunch?"
You blinked at him, not understanding where the mood came from, he had just been playing with some of his friends which usually left him in a good mood but apparently not today.
"I don't know" you said calmly, looking as his eyebrows furrowed together.
"I'm hungry"
You scoffed, shaking your head at your boyfriend "Well then cook or order something i'm not your fucking servant" you spat, turning back to you computer as he left to the kitchen with a sigh, you couldn't help but to death glare at his back when he left the room, feeling immensely annoyed.
You were boiling inside. He had been moody all week, you knew why, you knew he was anxious for the team news. The world cup squad were about to be announced in an hour and even if his spot where most likely guaranteed he was nervous and anxious and he took it out on you, and you were tired of it.
You didn't see Mason for the next thirty minutes, assuming he was up playing or being grumpy somewhere. You didn't want to have anything to do with him when he was in this mood.
When the clock had turned half past two you gave up. Your own stomach growling for food so you did the one thing you didn’t want to and went up to his office/game room having expected him to have had gone up there again but it was dark and closed.
“Mason?!”
You didn’t get any answer so you continued your searching to your bedroom.
“Mason?” You asked carefully as you pushed the door open. He was sitting in the bed over the bed-sheets. Head rested back against the bed frame and a tired expression on his face.
You didn’t know what to do because you didn’t know what he wanted right now
Mason lifted his eyes and looked at you with sad eyes, “come here” he whispered. You slowly walked towards the bed and sat down on the opposite side but ge was quick to pull you closer so you where half laying next to him, his head in your neck .
“I’m really sorry, I know I’ve been acting shitty and I know I’ve been a dick.”
“It’s okay. I understand why”
"It’s still not okay" Mason hummed, kissing your skin where your shoulder and neck met.
“Why are you so stressed? You already have a pretty much given spot”
“I know but I can't relax until I see it” he sighed.
You sighed too “Are you still hungry?” You asked lowly. Leaving the topic because you knew that the only thing that would calm him down was as he said, seeing his name on the list.
“Yeah” he hummed “let’s order something then” you decided moving to leave the bed but he quickly stopped you
“Y/n, I’m really sorry. Are we okay?”
You couldn’t stop your smile. Leaning back to peck his lips. “We’re completely fine Mase. But if you’re a grump I will meet you with the same attitude.”
Mason smiled at you. Pulling you down to kiss him for real.
“As you should, what about a movie?”
You both moved to the kitchen, going trough the cabins for snacks but you found none. "What's the clock?" You asked Mason who shrugged, pulling his phone from his pocket "14:45"
"What about we go down and buy snacks and by the time we're home the squad will be out" you suggested. Mason threw one arm around you and kissed the side of your head with a soft smile "Sounds good"
It didn't take many minutes down to the shop and after a round in the snacks aisle you had your needed amount and walked back home again.
"What's the time?" he asked, nervously. He had been really quite the whole walk back. "Check your phone" you shrugged but he shook his head "I turned it off" "Well... it's 15:04 you announced while he unlocked the door, quickly walking in and starting to unpack the bag. "Do you want me to read it out for you?" You suggested sweetly, seeing how anxious he was.
"Please"
"Okay" you hummed, going into Instagram where you knew it would be easiest to find it and immediately found the list. Mason was still with his back against you as he unpacked and you sneaked a quick scan to search for his name which was there, as expected.
"Okay, here we go" you said, watching him stop unpacking and leaning with his hands against the counter.
"So, goalies Pickford, Pope and Ramsdale. Defenders Walket, Stones, Trippier, Dier, Maguire, Alexander Arnold, Coady, Shaw, White. Middles are Bellingham, Gallagher, Henderson, Philips, Rice and Mason Mount"
You heard him let out a pent up breath and you couldn't help but to chuckle and go over to hug his back. "Congrats" you smiled as he turned around, wrapping his own arms around you, kissing you sweetly "Thank you" he grinned.
"Okay" you hummed, breaking free from his grip which made him frown "What? I need to read the rest. I am interested at least"
"Okay okay, go on" he chuckled, leaning against the counter again but this time facing you.
"So, forwards are Grealish, Foden, Kane, Sterling, Maddison oh wow that's nice, eh Saka, Wilson and Rashford" you ended, looking as he hummed thinking over the squad "It's a good squad"
"I think it's the best squad since we met" you agreed, walking back into his embrace which he happily welcomed. "I'm gonna have to look a lot more into that but first, pizza?" You nodded, happy this was all over. You had around a week until he was supposed to gather with the squad so that meant some nice relaxing time and of course build up for Mason but at least you would spend some time together.
You had decided together that you wouldn't be going to Qatar if he was in the team. You didn't what to with all the political aspects nor could you considering work so you were going to be home and that meant at least three weeks with the group games and then hopefully of course they would go further, if they stayed the whole time which they probably would regardless of how far they would come it was a month. Quite some time but it felt like the best decision at the moment.
Your pizza was delivered and Mason had picked out some cheesy rom-com and you'd poured up all the snacks and the drinks. All settled for a cozy evening.
"I'm really gonna miss you" he hummed as he wrapped his arms around you in the couch, making you smile and kiss his cheek "I'm gonna miss you too" you murmured, kissing him with a smile on your face.

and the songbirds are singing like they know the score - sneak peek
Tumblr media
"Because doing what’s best for her is hard, and he realizes that when he can feel his friend wanting to put him through a wall over the phone." or Jake calls the landline at 11 PM on a Thursday because his goddaughter is wasted and Bradley is less than thrilled.
A/N: in light of me finishing my second to last semester of undergrad and my undying love for Bradley's precocious daughter from the halloween fic, i thought i would post a little preview of what i'm working on for them! love these characters more than life and def so excited for y'all to get to know them better soon.
No one ever calls the landline. Very few people even have the phone number for the landline outside of Maverick and a few close family friends. Besides, anyone who would need to reach you had your cell phone numbers anyway.
So who the actual fuck is calling your landline at 11 PM on a Thursday night?
You hear Bradley yank the phone from its place on the wall and exhale with a huff. After sixteen years of being together, you know that huff is his tell of being annoyed.
“Hello?” he gruffly answers. His irritation makes the questions sound more like a monotonous statement.
“Bradshaw –”
Jake Seresin is on the other end of the line. You can recognize his voice from the other room with his cadence even though you’re not the one on the phone with him. Having “mom ears” does that to a person, you suppose.
“Why the fuck are you calling my house at 11 PM?” Bradley snaps.
You’re wondering the same thing, but you’ll have to talk to him about being so rude and huffy. Jake may actually need something, after all.
“Well you weren’t answering your fucking cell and neither was your wife so I had to do something.”
Bradley rolls his eyes and looks back into the darkened living room. He’s been more on edge about you lately.
“You can’t miss me that fucking much to be spamming my phone with calls,” he sighs and leans his back up agaisnt the wall. He notices the open blinds on the back door and starts to walk to close them before he’s yanked back by the phone cord.
“Don’t cream your pants. I don’t like you that much.”
Bradley lets out a soft snort in amusement before he remembers that he’s supposed to be annoyed. He opens his mouth to ask Jake what exactly it is that’s so damn important and can’t wait until tomorrow morning when he’s beaten to it.
“I have Quincy here in the passenger seat and she’s beyond unwell.”
The statement sends Bradley into panic mode instantly. His voice catches in his throat and he can’t recall a moment he’s had where he’s felt like he’s had to force the breath out of himself like this.
He lets out something between a huff, a cough, and a wheeze before remembering he can’t make a huge show of himself right now because it’ll also throw you into panic mode.
“What the fuck do you mean she’s not well? Jake, where the fuck are you?” he whispers into the phone, trying to cover his mouth as much as possible so you can’t even read his lips if you tried. “Is she okay? What’s –”
It doesn’t take a genius to know that Bradley is panicking. Even Bradley’s beyond intoxicated and passed out seventeen-year-old daughter sitting in the passenger seat of Jake’s truck could piece together that her father is nothing but a raging ball of anxiety at the moment, and Jake is positive that his friend is growing another patch of gray hair as the seconds pass.
“Oh. . . fuck, I guess I should’ve phrased that better,” Jake admits. His truck comes to a halt at a spotlight and he glances over at his goddaughter. “She’s fine. She’s definitely drunk as shit right now, but I’m on the way to drop her at yours.”
Bradley can feel the obnoxious orange ball of anxiety inside of him shift to a tumultuous rage induced scarlett. His hand tightens around the cord of the phone and he has to stop himself before he yanks it out of the wall. He’s gotten angry like this before, but it never was angled toward his daughter.
Never toward his sweet, precious girl. Never toward his amazing Quincy.
But she knows the rules (and she chose to break them) and she knows what was told to her (and she snuck out anyway) and she knows that it’s dangerous to be that drunk (but yet she’s passed out in Jake’s truck).
And if that isn’t both nerve-wracking and frustrating, Bradley doesn’t know what is.
“Put her on the phone,” he speaks lowly.
Jake gulps, knowing that he’s in one of those moods. Bradley doesn’t express anger as often as he expresses annoyance, but an angry Bradley is never someone he wants to be around. And from the way that Quincy made it sound when she called him to come get her from some random party in the middle of nowhere thirty five minutes away from her house at 11 PM on a school night, he knows her ass is being had tomorrow morning by both you and Bradley.
There’s absolutely no way his goddaughter is coming out of this unscathed.
“Dude, she’s obliterated right now and I think you talking to her is just gonna make it worse.”
“And I don’t give a fuck. I said, put her on the fucking phone now.”
Jake shakes his head and rolls his eyes as Quincy begins to stir next to him in her seat. He’s always been the person she’s called whenever she was in trouble. He always got the first hug whenever she was brought around. He’s always been her source of comfort outside of her parents and he’s never minded it because being around her is easy.
It was easy to carry her around whenever she asked when she was little. It was easy to give in and let her sit in the cockpit of his grounded aircraft with him and let her play with the buttons when her dad and Papa Mav refused. It was easy to pick her up from school mid-day and take her to lunch. It was easy to bring her back gifts from whenever he was deployed and even easier picking them out because she’s a sucker for meaningless trinkets.
It was easy to be her godfather and she’s a smart and relatively easy kid, but Jake has never been prepared for this part.
Because doing what’s best for her is hard, and he realizes that when he can feel his friend wanting to put him through a wall over the phone.
“No,” he speaks and he can hear Bradley let out a small gasp at the denial of his request, “She fucked up bad, Bradley. I’m sure she knows and you can have it out with her tomorrow morning, but right now, she’s not in any place to be screamed at and made to feel worse. You’re her dad and m’not tryin’ to take that away from you –”
Bradley scoffs, “What exactly do you fuckin’ know about raising kids, Jake? Huh?”
Jake grimaces and decides to take the brute of Bradley’s anger. Better him than Quincy, he figures. Besides, he knows Bradley doesn’t mean any of it. . . At least he hopes he doesn’t.
“You obviously can’t be a dad because you just wanna have fun and dick around all the fucking time. Buying them fuckin’ candy and letting them off scott-free doesn’t do shit. You don’t have what it takes to raise a fucking person.”
Jake doesn’t know why, but part of him starts to get that prickly feeling in his chest. Usually, every insult rolls off his shoulders into oblivion and he gets off on making people angry and being able to put on the facade that he really couldn’t give a damn if he tried.
But this one hurts because he knows that Bradley is right in some regard.
He’s a runner and he lets people down. He’s nearing fifty (and God, he never thought he ever would) and has never even bothered to settle down. And he’s made the peace with himself a long time ago that he doesn’t deserve a wife or a family or kids because he would never be able to love them more than he loves himself; more than he loves his career.
To hear one of your closest friends admit that to you openly, to know that someone outside of you sees it too, makes his heart stop momentarily and forces him to feel the ache of the words meant to stab him in the chest.
“I understand,” he swallows. He knows arguing with Bradley isn’t the right thing to do at the moment and never will be. “I’m still not putting her on the phone. We will be at your house shortly.”
The line goes dead and Bradley is overcome with a wave of anger that drowns him like a tsunami. He knows what he said was shitty and that he has no right to do that to someone who he considers a close friend, but he just can’t help himself.
He knows no allies when it comes to his daughter.

Madripoor High (part 6)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: this was supposed to be some miniseries but i feel like it's turning into a slow burn again... also, this is an emotional rollercosater. I gave Y/N a backstory, tragic, similar to Ghost's one.
Warnings: TRAUMA ABUSE DEATH READ UNTIL (_-_-_-_) TO AVOID IT THEN START AGAIN AT (_-_-_-_) IF YOU WANT TO AVOID IT
+ SEXUAL CONTENT
You walked through the base, the warm sun barely helping with the cold wind. Two months. You were working on this contract for two months. You were more than frustrated. You were starting to think you simply couldn't find Echo because they didn't exist at all.
The obvious side eyes and murmuring made you want to chuckle. Not only word of the punishments from the Lieutenant spread like wildfire. The fact that you showered alone under his close watch also spread. You were aware of the little whispers. 'the lieutenant's temptation' , 'the lieutenant's bitch' or 'whore'. You probably heard 'the forbidden pussy' at some point. You could end all of these fuckers careers with a simple search of their background, the worst skeletons in their closet unburied but you honestly couldn't care less. It was a funny change from the usuals 'criminal' 'terrorist'.
For some reason it almost made you giddy. Of course, Ghost was entirely unaware of all of this. The cadets were way too terrified to even mumble if he was in the surrounding 20 feet. You also tried to keep it to yourself, the next punishment being way more harmful for the boys than for you. Walking up to the barracks you felt surrounded. You stopped in the middle of the hallway. Looking at the boys surrounding you.
"Well well, little ducklings away from their mommies." You smirked.
"How about we call you mommy huh?" You heard from one.
"Oh sorry. I have daddy issues, not mommy ones." You teased again.
"You got a big mouth for a little thing." Someone rang.
"Not only this little thing could end your reputation, your careers and your families in a blink of an eye. But I'm not at all worried. I walk through this base with no fear." You stated.
"Maybe that's your problem. You're FUCKING full of yourself." A man spat.
You looked at the cadet who spoke. Of course. You were perfectly prepared for such a thing. You had an excellent memory.
"Cadet Davis. 25 years old, divorced parents both remarried, two biological brothers, one half sister and a baby half brother on the way." The boy frowned slowly paling. "You enlisted because of your bad civilian behavior, last resort to get straight in life after not only dropping out of high school for misconduct but also out of interest per your therapist's notes." You smirked, the boys eyeing each other. "Now, I know that you and your squad sneak out every Thursday you're not on duty to play cards in one of the barracks near the east wall." Now the group paled. "I know about the phones on which you watch porn while you guys jerk off all together." You said again.
"I know. Everything. Ending you is almost boring." You finally spat.
"What's going on here?" You heard.
You turned to the voice smiling at Soap and Gaz as they appeared into view. The cadets stood to attention as soon as they saw them.
"We're bonding." You teased. Soap snickered as Gaz frowned. You crossed your arms, smirking towards the cadets. "They're such adorable boys."
"Alright. Yeah. No doubt." Gaz said, not believing it for one second.
"Come on, let's go. Stop giving the kids attention. They'll become soft." Soap added.
You chuckled, shaking your head before walking to them. You threw a last glare towards the squad before climbing up with the two Sergeants. Once inside you sighed, heading for the kitchen.
"Are you alright?" You heard Gaz ask from behind.
"I'm fine." You sighed.
"If they're giving you a hard time you have to tell us." Soap said.
You were going to answer when a voice rose from the couch.
"Who's giving you a hard time?"
You froze. The sergeant's heads snapped towards the couch. You didn't need to turn. The voice. That voice that made you want to simply fall to your knees sometimes and others want to fight him.
"No one!" You said, walking to the fridge.
"Soap? Gaz?" He asked, standing from the couch. The two tried to look away, one rubbing the back of his head.
"No. One." You repeated.
Soap grinned, heading for the fridge as well. He stood next to you, eyes roaming the inside.
"I think you should tell him." He whispered, hidden by the open door of the fridge.
"It's fine. I'm not in any danger. And he's annoying…" you whispered back.
He snickered, making you bite your lip. You grabbed a small juice box, turning around to sit at the counter. Soap decided he wanted juice as well, but the last one being in your hand, he closed the fridge, running behind you to steal the precious liquid.
"Hey!" You yelped.
He laughed running out of the room.
"JOHNNY!" You yelled.
Gaz smirked.
"Just get another one…" Ghost mumbled.
"It was the last one!" You told him, clear annoyance on your face.
Gaz laughed softly, shaking his head as he walked out of the kitchen. You groaned, turning back to the lieutenant who didn't take his eyes off of you.
"What?" You let out.
He simply stared intensely at you. You started to feel that little tingle in the back of the neck, that feeling of being watched by a predator. It could work. Could. If only he knew that it wasn't fear that it elicited in you. But burning fucking need.
That, had been a brand new problem to you. Since the shower incident, you felt yourself melt a tiny bit more under his gaze. Felt yourself shiver at his raspy voice. Felt the dangerous warmth in the pit of your stomach when you heard him scold a recruit. You didn't even want to remember how you felt when you saw him spare. His strength, his body, his eyes… oh god.
You looked away, walking to the couch. You wanted to avoid his gaze, the way it made you feel, but also wanted to hide it from him.  Hide the way he made you feel. It didn't matter much if he knew. Two things could happen. He would like it and you'd have a wonderful night, or perhaps various ones. Or he would feel uncomfortable about it and you'd simply take a step back. No. What mattered was a certain someone could not know.
"Muñeca.."
You looked up at the voice. Her. She couldn't know. If she did, you'd never hear the end of it. You smiled at her, Price and Alejandro right behind her. You pat the couch next to you, beckoning her to sit down. Price called the rest of the squad as you let your head fall back.
Soap walked in, sending you a teasing smile as you shook your head. You pat the couch on the other side, the boy not hesitating to run and jump next to you.
"God's sake Johnny…" you chuckled.
Price had a warm smile on his face as he witnessed the scene. The room had filled up, you started to feel the obvious important news arriving.
"Alright. Here's the brief." Price started.
You let your head fall on Soap's shoulder, his hand rising to playful pat and or gently slap your cheek. You pushed his hand away, trying to listen to the captain.
"Thanks to Tracker's latest Intel, we have eyes on a cartel.  Squad 141 will be heading out tomorrow for a recon mission." You frowned but didn't say anything. "It should be a few days. Until then, Laswell will be here to help you, colonel Vargas and Rudy will also remain here with the Prisoner. "
"Cabron." She spat.
You chuckled, playfully slapping her arm. Price chuckled as well, a darker tone to it as he eyed Valeria. Price continued, falling into more detailed information about their mission. You zoned out. For as much as you tried to avoid thinking of it, you couldn't stop. The skull face kept showing up again and again in your brain. You wondered how his hands would feel on your skin. How it would feel to trace his faded tattoos. Did he have more? You were sure he did. You wanted to search for them. His blond lashes flashed in your brain. Was his hair also blond? Was his happy trail-
"Tracker?!" Valeria snapped her fingers in front of your face. You snapped out of your very spicy daydream as you frowned. You looked up at her.
"Are you ok muñeca?" She asked, a little frown on her face. Soap immediately jumped as well to look at you.
"I'm… fine!" You stammered. It obviously didn't help your case, now the room was looking at you. You felt yourself blush and heat up under the scrutinizing gazes.
"Are you sure, you look a bit red…" soap added with a worried look. You wanted to scream and hide. He wasn't helping at all.
"I'm fine!" You said again.
Ghost stepped closer, your heart jumping in your chest at the sight of the object of all your nasty thoughts eyeing you again. A hand touched your cheek, Soap testing your body warmth with the back of his hand.
"Your pupils are dilated… and your heartbeat is a bit fast." He stated..
"Oh god please shut up…" you finally whined, embarrassment washing over you. "I'm fine, really, maybe got a bit sick overnight it's nothing really…" you lied.
"Perhaps you should go over to the infirmary." Price said with a little worry in his eyes too.
"No it's ok… thank you. I'll rest a bit." You finished with a smile. God if he knew it was simply you fantasizing about his Lieutenant.
You avoided eye contact with everyone for the rest of the briefing, scurrying off discreetly to your room as soon as it was over.
You could finally take a deep breath once the wooden door shut itself. You barely had time to take a step forward before the door opened again. You turned, falling eye to eye with deep brown orbs. You frowned, swallowing hard before turning back towards your bed.
"Yes lieutenant ?" You asked. He stared. "You have a staring problem, Ghost." You stated.
He crossed his arms leaning back against the door. The t-shirt he was wearing showed his arms perfectly. The sleeved tattoo almost plastered for everyone to see.
"Now you're the one staring."
You snapped out of the day dream. You were in fact staring. You snickered, turning back to your bed where you let yourself fall upon. You groaned into your pillow. You felt a wave of frustration splash onto a shore of exhaustion. You felt like the heavy weight you weren't aware of, finally fell on you. You turned your head to the side, staring at the wall. Should you glance at him? Was he still staring?
The sound of the lock echoed. Heavy boots stomped on the floor, the sound growing closer before it stopped next to the bed. Your body tensed. What..
Shock filled you as you felt two arms turn you around. You laid on your back, watching the man kneel on the bed, letting himself down as well, his head on your chest. Your heart was threatening to jump out of your chest.
"What… are you?" You questioned.
His body flexed as the shock in your voice. You anticipated him trying to stand back up. You wrapped your arms around his shoulders, one on his head. Not a word was said. You let yourself enjoy the moment. The heaviness of his body on you was making you sleepy. He had relaxed, his body reacting to the soft caresses on his head and back.
"Who's giving you a hard time?" You heard.
"No one…" you mumbled through sleepiness.
He groaned a bit but didn't move. His hands caressed the skin of your waist under your shirt, slow circles that gave you goosebumps. You sighed in content. You felt the heat. The breaths. It was a blink of an eye. And he was on top of you, his head in your neck, biting and sucking softly at the skin, one hand over your breast underneath your clothes, pressing his hard cock against you.
The feeling of him, so close yet so far, was unbearable. He teased you, clothes keeping any real contact from each other. You wanted to rip your own pants and panties off to finally let him thrust into you.
"Simon.." you moaned.
A low chuckle answered your whines, only making you more and more desperate.
"So needy. Have you been craving this? Thinking about how my hands would feel against your soft skin? Have you been fantasizing about my mouth biting and marking you? Shit…" he chuckled darkly again. "You've been imagining my cock stretching your pretty little pussy, haven't you?"
You wanted to say no. Throw some snarky comments but you couldn't. Like some spell had hit you, making you unable to be anything but submissive.
"Of course you have… look at you. You're thinking about it right now." You frowned at his words. "You're dreaming of it…"
Your eyes flashed open, the white ceiling staring back at you. Your heart was racing, the silence and darkness of the room enveloping you, bringing you back to reality. So now, you were having wet dreams of that asshole?! You grabbed a pillow throwing it over your face to muffle an annoyed loud groan. The fluffy thing was quickly discarded with rage. What happened? What exactly made things turn out this way? The way he had looked at you in the showers while he was manhandling some perv who had been watching you?
The fury in his eyes, the way he barked his orders at the boys, anger obviously biting through the air. The way he had effortlessly grabbed you by the waist to pull you up and make you sit on top of the little wall. He had wanted to punish you. He had been nothing but correct with you yet you felt like some Victorian man who's been shown ankles.
Perhaps a warm drink would help. Some tea. You threw the covers away, standing up to escape your room towards the kitchen. You tiptoed your way through the hallway, the silence and shadows only remembering you that the team was sleeping at this hour. You flipped the light switch, blinding light burning your eyes for a split second. You decided against it, only turning on the soft lamps over the kitchen counter.
Putting some water to boil in the kettle, you browsed through the various teas the team had. One good thing about so many British men. You picked out something that sounded pretty classic with still a tint of originality. Time ticked, waiting for the water so you could make your tea, you stretched your neck, rubbing the back. Flashbacks of the night at the hotel rushed through your mind. His hand around your throat, the fear and panic in his eyes once he realized what he was doing. The flinch when you tried to pull him to you.
Something made you wonder what happened. What was it that made him, Ghost, crumble in the past? If he had even crumbled. The kettle clicked, notifying you that it was ready. You poured the hot liquid in your mug before heading to the counter and sitting in one of the high chairs.
Sexually tortured. Lots of things came to mind. Every single one of them sent a disgusting taste to the back of your brain. Madripoor wasn't a stranger to these things. Human trafficking and other things were unfortunately part of the world you lived in. You were clearly against it, refusing contracts from cartel's and bosses. Making sure to bombard their plans and send a message to the high table. At least, in Madripoor, it wasn't allowed.
But him? Curiosity made you want to peek at his file. It would be easy but… a part of you didn't want to break his trust. Or at least the tiny piece of trust if he had any towards you. It was fascinating to you how this mountain of a man, a beast, a hunter on the field, could have been so close to being broken. Obviously it hadn't fully worked, and he had built himself a reputation that the high table itself was aware of.
All of these thoughts to avoid asking yourself the real question. Why was he constantly in your mind? What was with him… that since the first encounter, when he had chased you through the warehouse and trapped you, he simply attracted you. You were worried about what this might mean, as you watched the swirl of the liquid in your cup.
"What did that mug do to you?"
You jumped, turning to the doorway.
"God sake! Please put a bell around your neck…" you scolded.
He shook his head walking to you.
"Why are you up? Not feeling good?" He asked, nodding towards the tea.
Ah yes. You were supposed to be feeling 'sick'. You smirked, looking back at your mug.
"I'm fine. Just couldn't sleep." You stated. "There's hot water if you want some tea." You offered after a heartbeat. He couldn't sleep either. It was obvious. Was it his nightmares?
He moved towards the kettle, grabbing a mug in the process. You watched his movements, his muscles flexing with his movements as he made himself a cup of tea. You kept your eyes on him as he walked back to sit on the chair next to you.
"You have a staring problem." He teased, staring back at you.
"You're the one staring at me…" you whispered.
His eyes faltered, slight twitch of his brows. You were blatantly staring at him, a little focused look on your face as if you were trying to figure out some riddle he had dropped. He had tensed again.
"Simon.." you started in a whisper.
His head tilted, questioning the reasons of his name on your lips.
"I… what happened…?" You asked.
He blinked, once, twice, before the dreadful realization fell on him.
"None of your fucking business." He snarked.
You sighed.
"I know. I'm sorry… I didn't mean to intrude. You don't have to tell me anything." You let out, turning back to your mug.
The clock on the wall ticked, filling the silence with even more tension. You sipped on your wall beverage, closing your eyes as the liquid slid down your throat.
"Why." He asked. You turned to him, confused. "Why are you asking this? Right now." He asked again, eyes boring into your very soul. "Did… did I… was I not correct towards you?"
You felt a cold shower rush through the fibers of every muscle in your body.
"What? No! No." You shook your head. "Simon. You've been… very correct with me. You haven't overstepped, or made me uncomfortable. It's fine." You reassured him.
He took a deep breath, his broad shoulders rising before slumping back.
"Why are you so worried that you'll overstep?" You asked in a low voice.
He watched you carefully. He didn't trust you enough to say that. Not enough to tell you the truth. And you understood that.
"You haven't." You caught his attention again, giving up on finding answers. "You've been a gentleman, apart from being annoying." You chuckled with a teasing smile. "And I… promise that if I ever feel uncomfortable, I'll be honest with you and give you a heads up." You finished with a soft smile.
He nodded after a second of pondering.
"You call Soap Johnny." He let out.
You rolled your eyes with a little chuckle.
"Are you jealous?" You teased.
"No. But he doesn't let just anyone call him that." He explained.
You were surprised by the revelation. Slightly taken aback by the confession that Soap had let you be a special person to him.
"He reminds me… of my little brother." You whispered, looking at the wall.
Ghost remained quiet. He sipped on his tea, waiting for you to either keep talking and explain or simply change the subject.
"You're not going to ask…?" You questioned.
"I haven't answered any of your questions. I don't deserve asking you some." He explained in a soft tone.
"You deserve to ask them. It is, however, up to me to answer them, or not, like you did." You smiled at him.
"I'm not really into… family talk." He answered honestly as he winced.
"Don't worry." You whispered, his head turning towards you. "Me neither…" you said, trying to hide the sting of pain from being too obvious.
But he noticed. Of course he did. He nodded, his hand raising to pat your head softly before turning back to his tea. It made you huff a laugh. You sipped your tea again before turning back to him.
"How did you become Ghost?" You asked. He closed his eyes, groaning. "Too close…?" You asked. He didn't answer. "Sorry. I think I'll just shut up." You chuckled.
"How did you become Tracker?"
You froze as the cup was barely inches from your lips. It hit close too. Way too close for comfort. Did you want to tell him? The amount of people who knew the truth could be counted on the fingers of a single hand.
"Too close?" He asked.
You took a deep breath, putting down the cup on the counter, eyes staring at it, as if it'd help you through the dilemma. Telling him the truth. Do you trust him? Yes. Enough to talk about it? Perhaps it would help him unravel himself to you. He had started saying something when you cut him.
(_-_-_-_)
"My father was the type of man who loved the bottle more than his kids." You started. Simon immediately remained quiet, watching you.
Deciding on avoiding his gaze, you let yourself get lost in the brown liquid of the mug as the flashbacks and memories rushed back in. "It was always hard. The abuse. I tried my best to stand in the middle of him and my mother and siblings. I mostly managed."
You snickered to yourself bittersweetly.
"But things didn't get better. I was almost 17. I was out with some friends. He had been out for two days, we had no news. I didn't know."
"Y/N-" he started. But it was as if you couldn't hear him anymore. Words overspilling.
"He had decided that he wasn't happy. And that if he couldn't be happy, no one else could. I got home, probably… twenty minutes after he did. And, he had enough time to.."
You frowned, feelings bubbling up in your throat the more you spoke. Simon scooted closer with his high chair, legs spread as your chair rested in between. You still avoided his gaze.
"He had killed them all. My mother, my sister and her husband. Their two kids. My little brother…" Your voice lowered. Tears swelling at the corner of your eyes. "He tried to kill me on sight. While I was in shock of seeing my family murdered on the living room floor. Blood everywhere. So… long story short. The neighbors had already called the cops, they arrived as we were fighting outside in the lawn. I ended up stabbing him repeatedly." You took a long sip from the tea, trying to calm the raging burn in your throat from holding back the tears.
"On that night, at the police station, the social workers arrived and talked to the cops. I overheard them talking. How I was already old and almost an adult. That no foster homes would want a kid who killed someone. That I needed psychiatric help. And families would still refuse to take me in."
You finally turned to him, trying a small smile. You felt your heart skip a beat as he eyed you intensely. It was hard to understand what his eyes conveyed.
"So, I ran off. I used the moment where the window was unattended. They were too busy. So I hopped out and ran. Managed to get into my house in the upstairs bedroom even while the cops were there. Took some stuff, my laptop mostly. And I ran." You sighed. "This story is taking forever…" you laughed a bit, trying to lie to yourself that these emotions, this trauma wasn't affecting you anymore.
(_-_-_-_ bad childhood daddy issues, family dead)
"So, I stayed in the streets for a few months, coffee shops would give me wifi and I already had some basis on hacking. Made sure to steal money from bank accounts to buy food and stuff like that. Some cartel boss eventually heard of me and offered me a deal. I accepted, became known over the years as I got better and better. The high table of Madripoor decided to bring me on their side once my… talent was widely known." You smacked your lips together, looking away.
"There it is. The story of Tracker…" you whispered in a sarcastic, tasteless voice.
He leaned forward as you turned to him, his forehead touching yours as your eyes opened wide. A little soothing gesture.
"You did good." He whispered.
It was three simple words. No special tone, no actual praise. But it made the tears fall. You tried to catch your breath as he froze. You shook your head, cracking a smile as you closed your eyes.
"I'm ok… I'm ok." You sniffled, leaning back.
You opened your eyes, brushing away the tears with your fingers.
"It's ok." He said.
You smiled even more, nodding softly. His hand had someone ended up on the small of your back, his thumb drawing slow circles. You closed your eyes at the sensation. It was reassuring. Calming. When you opened your eyes, he tilted his head, eyeing you with curiosity.
"You ok?" He asked.
"Yeah… just… your fingers-"
He stilled. Realizing his action. His hand flew off like your skin was a scorching braze.
"Shit… sorry…" he was ready to stand when you put your hand on his chest.
"Simon. It's fine. It was a soft gesture. I saw no harm in it. Breathe…" you reassured.
His eyes stuck to yours, he tried to even his breath.
"You look… so ok. With my touch." He said.
"Hmm…" you started. "Well. Your touch is nothing inappropriate. It's soothing so I don't mind." You explained. "I mean… you've had me naked in your arms" you teased.
He straightened his neck at the thought, making the heat rush to your cheeks.
"It's fine Simon…" you repeated.
"You wouldn't be fine if you knew the whole truth… you wouldn't want me to touch you." He hissed, anger biting at himself more than you.
You sighed, scooting your chair even closer, forcing him to spread his legs even wider. His eyes were fixating on you, burning through your skin, his body as stiff as stone. You let your head slowly fall to his chest, forcing him to straighten himself and hold you so you wouldn't slip and fall off your chair. You could hear his heart stammering against his rib cage.
"Maybe. But right now. After knowing you for a few months, I trust you. And I don't mind your touch at all." You whispered.
"You're insane…" he whispered back.
"Without a single doubt…" you chuckled under your breath.
You remained like this for a little while. You could feel his heart calming down. You were falling asleep at the sound of his steady heartbeat. He realized it as your body felt slightly heavier in his arms. He shifted quickly, picking you up bridal style. Your eyes snapped open at the sudden shift. Looking at him.
"You're ok." He simply said.
You sighed, letting your head against his shoulder. He walked to your door, opening it before walking in, heading to your bed. He slowly dropped you down, letting you settle in bed comfortably. The way he watched you, standing over the bed, it made you feel… surprisingly secure. You threw him a sleepy smile as he softly brushed a hair strand away from your face. After a long minute, he walked away, closing the door softly behind him.
Your eyes were closing on their own, the image of him lulling you to sleep.
The next morning, you woke up to silence. You opened your eyes, fighting the need to keep them close as the light shone through the window. You sighed, getting up and throwing some sweatpants and a t-shirt on before stepping out into the hallway. The eerie feeling of the empty place felt heavy on you. You walked to the kitchen, looking around. No one. You sat at the counter, noticing a small paper.
'out on mission, be back soon, Alejandro and Rudy are still on base if you need anything! -squad 141'
You smiled. It was obviously soap's handwriting, and the thought warmed your heart. You frowned. You felt… lonely. It wasn't something unusual for you. Even in Madripoor, walking through town or resting on the large couch in your living room, you felt lonely. This kind of loneliness however. You hadn't felt it in a while. The one you felt on that night. You shook your head. It was silly. Nonsense. Something however, screamed in the back of your mind, that the relationship you were creating with this team was getting concerning. Dangerous… it wouldn't end well.
Getting attached to them, it could be a terrible mistake. And you could feel it. That it was getting way too close for comfort. Lying to yourself, however, sounded like a much better solution.
You took a deep breath, looking up at the kitchen counters. Breakfast. And then. Work.
It was late. Around four in the morning. You rubbed your eyes as they started to get blurry from the screen light in the dark conference room. You stretched, checking the time a last time, settling your mind on packing your things and going back to the barracks to get some sleep.
The base seemed to be asleep, the few soldiers patrolling around being the only noise you could hear. You walked through the hallways, your backpack on your back, already dreaming about the warmth of your bed. The tingling feeling at the back of your neck however, warned you that someone… was clearly watching you. It was becoming even clearer that they were following you. You sighed, taking sharper turns into darker alleys. You tiptoed your way into a warehouse, jumping on some iron ladder to make your way up to the first balcony on top. You slowly made your way to a little hideout, perfect for you to see, without being seen. You waited, watching the entrance.
Three shadows made their way in, looking around. You easily recognized three of the men from squad 8. You shook your head slowly. Idiots. Observing the three as they looked for you, you let your head fall against the wall behind you. You were tired. You didn't need this right now. A part of your brain kept watch over the boys as they walked back to the entrance, the other was drowning in sleepy thoughts. Finally alone in the warehouse, you remained sitting on the ground, against the wall. You waited to make sure they were gone. But your eyelids keep closing themselves, as you battled and battled but allowed them to remain closed a little while longer each time.
It was the rough sound of the warehouse door being rolled open that made you jolt awake. Your heart pounding, you took in your surroundings. A team had walked in, taking their gear as they were briefing each other on the next training. You looked around, noticing how the sun was already shining through the door.
"Shit.." you mumbled.
You rose to your feet, feeling the ache in your body from the very uncomfortable sleepy spot. You groaned, making your way to the ladder. You climbed down, jumping down the last few steps, the sound of your shoes echoing. The attention of the team was brought upon you as you simply nodded their way with a 'good morning'. You walked out into the sun. The warmth of it did nothing to help the exhaustion from your body.
Unfortunately, the same thing occured again and again. You found yourself having to avoid certain spots, certain people. At some point after a few nights, you realized that they weren't afraid to enter the barracks, making your own room unsafe. You had to find a way to sleep somewhere, in different spots every night. You decided to keep it to yourself, not wanting to bother Alejandro and Rudy who probably had a lot to deal with already. Frustration was starting to grow to an impossible level. The bad sleep, it kept you on edge.
It had been almost two weeks when you decided that enough was enough. You decided that if they wanted to act like idiots, and come after you, then you'd treat them like that. You spent a full day preparing a little forgotten room, adding the perfect illegal things in it. It was used as some 'throw everything in' room. It was therefore quite easy to drop some things. Drugs, confidential files you had… found… laying around.
That night, you made sure to stay extra late, working on your laptop before making your way to the room, the boys obviously following you. You grinned, stepping into the room before quickly running to your hiding spot. As the three boys walked in behind you, you immediately texted Laswell.
You waited. Patiently, watching the three search around the various crates, boxes and old furniture, coating their hands in the various substances you had flung around the room. When Laswell arrived she was closely followed by Alejandro and a few men. You didn't exactly pay attention to what was going on as they interrogated the recruits, or when they were dragged out. You sighed, swiftly getting out of your hiding place to walk out the door. You made sure to be far enough from the big group, walking away.
It was a good start. It wouldn't make them stop. But it'd help. You let yourself lean back against a humvee, crossing your arms. You waited, until you saw his frame.
"Colonel…" you greeted.
"Tracker." He greeted back.
He looked at you, frowning. Even under the dim light of the courtyard, it was clear to see how tired you were. You had been in a worse state. But this wasn't that kind of mission.
"Everything alright princesa?"
You smiled at the nickname.
"I'm… tired." You answered honestly.
He frowned, taking a few seconds to think before he looked at you.
"This… was you?" He asked. You nodded. "Why?". You didn't have time to answer. "They bothered you? Pendejos."
You smirked to yourself. It was incredibly obvious how similar Valeria was to him.
"I'm fine. It was just slightly annoying. They've been distracting me from my work…" you said.
"Come on. You'll sleep with us tonight."
He nodded towards a building before starting to walk, leaving no room for discussion.
You were glad to be able to sleep near the vaqueros. Valeria was in a cell nearby. You had spent a very calm night, waking up quite late. Rudy had very kindly offered you his room. Unfortunately, you couldn't just spend the entire time in Rudy's room. You talked to them, including Laswell, offering for them to move into the squad's barracks. They were skeptical, especially towards letting Valeria into anything else than a cell. You assured them that Valeria wouldn't be a problem, warning her that if she didn't behave, you'd hunt her down yourself.
She had pouted, angrily cursing at the vaqueros. Eventually, they had moved into the barracks, and you were glad to be back to your little room. You could finally rest a bit, without constantly having to watch your six. On the other side you felt like you missed the team. You missed hearing Soap and Gaz laughing together, Price talking and the smell of his cigars. But you also missed him. All of that combined with the fact that you seemed stuck in your current search was starting to feel like too much.
You sat on the ground, the laptop on the coffee table looking at you mockingly.
"What's wrong muñeca?" Valeria asked.
"I'm… frustrated. I can't find anything about 'snake'. Obviously that guy is keeping Echo's identity secret like some kind of fucking bodyguard. I can't find anything that could identify it. Nowhere, in all of the underground, can I find a single clue on 'snake'..." You vented.
You groaned, letting your head fall into your hands. Rudy sat nearby, the poor boy on babysitting duty as Alejandro was with Laswell for the day. You heard some commotion, looking up.
"VALERIA!" You yelled.
The woman had knocked out the poor man, hovering over his unconscious body.
"Calm down… he's sleeping."
"Why did you do that?!" You scolded.
"I wanted to offer you tequila. He wouldn't have agreed." She shrugged, walking to one of the cupboards.
"You didn't even try asking him!" You angrily said.
She shrugged again, grabbing a bottle of tequila from the cupboard before walking to you. She closed the laptop, putting it aside as she opened the bottle.
"You need to breathe a bit" she teased with a wink.
You shook your head, bewildered. It was an obvious Valeria move. You watched as she stood again grabbing a chair before lifting Rudy to sit on it. She then handcuffed him, making sure that he wouldn't escape.
"Valeria…" you scolded.
"He's fine! Come on." She sat back next to you after grabbing two cups.
You watched as she poured the liquid into them. Maybe… you did need to relax a bit.
But as per habit. Every Valeria move would end up in some kind of chaos.

she doesn't want to know.
maybe she already does, crowley often knows the things she has no interest in knowing, and yet whenever her brain begins to nudge her towards the answer, she slips away and buries herself back in the sand like a reptile escaping the scorching desert heat.
she doesn't want to know a lot of things, and the number only increases after the world does not end again (again), and she can breathe again. crowley can't, couldn't, not when aziraphale's presence is a black hole, a dripping hand made of hot tar and tears spreading it's fingers and tainting everything it touches.
where are you, she doesn't ask, not this time.
this time she knows, and it's worse.
aziraphale returns, all sharp sunshine and stinging ozone, and it's not right, not like this, but neither of them can change it. so she lives with the blisters on her fingertips and the burns on her tongue until heaven takes away the cutting smell of hyacinths and lightning and gives aziraphale back to her.
she doesn't want to know whether their time apart ripped her open from the inside, too, because she thinks she knows the answer, and crowley cannot decide if it's the right one this time.
breathing is easier again, now that aziraphale is all ocean breeze and hot cocoa, a permanent presence right under her ribs, glowing, beating. there are too many question crowley cannot ask, and too many answers aziraphale does not seem to offer, not to her, so she doesn't.
on a tuesday, crowley does not ask if she can move into the bookshop, she simply watches aziraphale move around, snaps her fingers and allows the plants to settle in new, dustier spaces. she is rewarded with a smile, all teeth and sunshine, and she misses panorama windows and damp air, but it's fine, it's alright, she does not want to know why.
if she doesn't know, she doesn't feel.
(she does know. she does feel, all of it, so terribly strong no touch, gentle as as wind disturbing the perfect petals of a rose, can lift the tingle of electricity from her skin)
on a monday, crowley does not ask if she missed her. she brings aziraphale a cup of cocoa, soaks up her thank you, dear and tells herself it is answer enough.
on a thursday, crowley does not ask if they can get rid of the summoning circle staining the floor, simply stares at the smudged lines her earlier stumble on the carpet has revealed and does not ask herself why it bothers her.
tuesday, again. more silent questions.
wednesday. again. questions spilling from her fingertips like stardust, but she knows what they can do, always has since the day they burned her wings to ash and she fell and fell and fell.
aziraphale asks, over and over, for things, about things, asks for the sake of asking, and crowley wants to shake her until her pale blonde curls unravel and show her the answers.
why, why can you ask like it does not mean anything?
why can you ask as if you don't fear the consequences of the answers you will get?
why did you ask me to come with you? (why did i say no?)
why did i ask you, over and over and over, why did i ask? why did i ask even though i knew it was going to hurt?
crowley wants to know, she burns with it, always has, and she wants to sink her claws into aziraphale's answers and pull until they spill out, wet and red and alive, and she can know without having to ask.
friday. any friday.
aziraphale tells her, she tells her often, these days. crowley burns, hot and desperate, and she is all sulfur and brimstone, sand rubbing your skin raw, glass shards sinking into your flesh, and she asks.
why?
her mouth opens, blue eyes wide, dying hyacinths, and crowley waits for the answers to spill from her lips like they so easily do for anyone else, for any other question.
i saw you, before i fell, after i fell, and would have taken the flame to my own wings if it had meant meeting you, she doesn't say.
you are all the warmth i'm lacking, all the goodness and kindness and softness you see in me is you, staring back, she doesn't say.
crowley asks, and she thinks she knows the answer this time, and she wants to know, so she asks.
friday. the same friday.
nothing spills.
crowley smiles, tastes the drop of truth on her tongue, and tells herself it's enough.
she doesn't ask again.

your Gabriel fic was the best I've read (even though I only read two because I couldn't find any more) so I'm here to ask for another fluffy where Gabriel notices that reader is neglecting her own problems and focusing only on his issues, and he helps her with this burden she's been carrying alone
Not Your Responsibility ♡ - Gabriel x gn!reader

warnings: mentions of mental illness, lack of self care
Tumblr media
You sat down on the couch, a heavy sigh leaving your lips as you set your keys on the coffee table. Work was long, and all you wanted to do was sit around and do nothing for the rest of the day.
You hadn't been taking much time for yourself lately, and it was really starting to affect you. You were exhausted, mentally drained, and honestly, a little lonely. It felt like you couldn't talk to anyone about it, especially when your boyfriend had his own problems.
You loved Gabe, he was the best thing in your life, and you trusted him more than anything. But it had been a year since he pulled that stunt with Alice, and you were still scared he might do something irrational again.
You were constantly giving Gabe all your attention and love, trying to compensate for what you couldn't help him with. He never asked for anything from you, but you just felt like you were responsible for making up for everything he had been through.
"Y/N? Hey!" you hear him say, snapping you out of your thoughts. You smiled tiredly, your eyes landing on Gabe. He had on a long sleeved, navy blue shirt, paired with flannel pajama pants.
"Hey, how was your day?" you asked, scooting over so he could sit next to you on the couch. He settled in next to you, one of his arms slinging comfortably around your shoulders as he shrugged.
"Fine, I went to the diner," he mumbled, and you hummed gently in response, your eyes fluttering shut while you laid your head on his shoulder. He shifted to look at you, a quiet sigh leaving his lips when he saw how tired you looked.
"Y/N.. can you be honest with me for a second?" he asked, and you opened your eyes to look up at him. "What? Oh, yeah, of course I can," you replied, a little more alert now. Was something wrong? Was he okay? Did you fuck something up? The anxious thoughts consumed your mind while you waited for him to speak.
"When's the last time you ate something?" he asked, and you paused. That was a good question, but you had no idea.
"Uhh.. fuck, maybe Tuesday? I don't know, I've been so busy," you mumbled, embarrassed.
"Tuesday? Baby, it's Thursday, you need to eat something," he said, giving you a concerned look. "You need to take care of yourself, too, you know? You haven't been sleeping much, I can tell," he added, and you looked down in shame.
"I'm not your responsibility, Y/N," he suddenly said, making you look up quickly. "I know you feel like I'm gonna lose it any moment, but I'm not. You don't have to focus all your energy and time on me, you gotta take care of yourself," he reasoned, and a pang went over your chest.
You didn't even know you were crying until his hand brushed the tears on your cheeks away, angling your face up at him. He leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead before smiling warmly. "Come on, why don't you go shower and take a nap? I'll order food when you wake up," he said, and you couldn't help but smile through your tears.
"Thank you," you whispered, leaning up and wrapping your arms around him. He hugged you tight, holding on for a little longer than usual before pushing you back gently. "You're welcome, now go. I'll clean up the house a little," he assured you, and you couldn't be more grateful.
**
He made good on his promises, of course. When you woke up from your nap, clean and refreshed, he was sitting on the couch, the cat in his lap and a quiet sitcom playing on the TV. The house was tidy and smelled fresh, and there was a chinese takeout menu on the counter next to your landline.
He turned to look at you when he heard you, smiling big. "Hey, just in time! I ordered some food, come sit with me," he encouraged, and of course, you did.
"Thank you for all of this, Gabriel.." you mumbled when you were curled up at his side, but he just shook his head. "You deserve it, don't thank me."
You guys ate and talked when the food came, catching up on work and such. He was attentive and sweet the whole time, making sure you were okay. He knew damn well that he was a lot to handle sometimes, and he wanted you to know that it wasn't all about him.
"You know I love you more than anything, right?" he asked as he cleaned up the takeout, catching you a little off guard. You beamed, feeling so much better now that you got some time to take care of yourself.
"I love you, too."

A/N: AHHH this ones so short. but i had a blast writing it, thank you for the request anon! sorry if it wasn't quite what you were looking for. hope you enjoyed <3!

It’s only a week. That’s what Bob said over the phone when he told you about a mission they were all set to leave for on Thursday. The two of you only had three days before he left.
“Should I be worried?” you asked, pacing around the bedroom of your hotel room. You were barefoot but walking on the carpet made your skin crawl. You longed for the soft duvet of your townhouse back in Charleston, the way your kitchen knives were organized just so, even that one pair of sweatpants with the hole in the cuff that you had left at home thinking you wouldn’t be gone that long.
“No,” Bob said, but there was something in his voice that made you stop dead in your tracks, eyes glued on the dirty window.
“Don’t lie to me.”
Bob sighed on the other end of the line. “It’s dangerous,” he said carefully.
“How dangerous?”
There was a pause. Then, “It’s never been done before,” Bob said. “I, we, don’t even know if it can be done.”
You didn’t realize you were holding your breath until your vision started to go spotty and you let it out in a short cough.
“Peanut?” Bob’s voice was laced with concern. “Honey, please. I’m going to be fine.”
“How can you say that?”
“Where are you?”
“The hotel.”
“I’ll be there in fifteen minutes.”
Thirty minutes later, you were snuggled up on Bob’s couch wearing one of his t-shirts and snacking on a bowl of popcorn. He had your feet in his lap, massaging over them gently.
Bob slid one hand up your ankle. “Feeling better?”
“No.” You pulled your legs off of Bob’s lap and sat up, cross legged, your knees brushing against his thighs. “How do you do this, Bobby? I’m fucking terrified something is going to happen to you.”
“It’s the job, honey. I don’t have much of a choice.”
“Why didn’t you pick something safer?” you asked. “Like mall security or an accountant? Accountants never get shot down by enemy jets.”
Bob smiled ruefully. “You worry too much.”
“I mean it, Bobby,” you said softly. “Would you ever consider leaving the Navy?”
He reached up, thumb stroking your cheek. “If I had someone to come home to, yeah, I would. But most of the time I come back from a mission to an empty fridge and an overgrown lawn.” He paused. “I’ve never had someone waiting for me on the tarmac, crying they’re so ecstatic to see me.”
A tear slid down your cheek and he wiped it away. “Then come home,” you whispered. “And this time it’ll be different from all the other times. I promise.”
“Stay here,” Bob said instantly and you frowned. “Ditch your hotel room. The guest bedroom is way nicer.” He smiled. “And selfishly, I want you to be here when I come home.”
“OK,” you said and he grinned. “On one condition.”
“Anything.”
“You marry me.”
Bob smiled, eyes glimmering. “Peanut.”
“I mean it,” you said and his blue eyes shifted left, then right, as if he was reading a book. He was trying to gauge if you were serious or not.
You were dead serious.
“You come home next Friday and we get married.”
“Haley,” Bob said softly. “What’s the rush?”
“I knew I was going to marry you when we were fifteen,” you replied. “Come home from this mission, Bobby, and marry me. At the very least, just promise me you’ll come home.”
He leaned forward, pressing his forehead to yours. “I promise,” Bob whispered. “I’m coming back for you.”
Two days later, you sat in the front seat of Bob’s truck, hand raised in a wave as he turned and marched into the hangar. You wiped the tears from your eyes and yanked the truck into reverse, not letting yourself look back.
Bob’s house felt empty. It was charming, but it lacked a clear sense of style. It was obvious that Bob had only purchased necessities, and he hadn’t made the effort to match or style anything.
You spent the first three days of his mission with your phone ringer on, trailing in and out with new items: a wooden coffee table, a new side chair, new sheets and a comforter for Bob’s bed and the guest bedroom. You filled the cabinets and fridge with groceries.
And then you sat and watched the minutes go by. Every second your phone didn’t ring felt like a lifetime.
On the fourth day Bob was gone, the phone rang. It startled you out of your sleep and you made your way, bleary, to the kitchen where it sat on the counter. Who still had a fucking home phone line?
Without thinking, you grabbed it. “Hello?”
There was a pause and then a woman’s voice. “Hello?”
You frowned. “Hi.”
“Oh, hi.” She sounded older. “Oh my, I hope I have the right number. I was looking to leave a message for Bobby.”
“This is the right number,” you said. “Sorry, who is this?”
She laughed. “This is Patty. I’m Bobby’s mother.”
You had thought she sounded familiar. A blush crept up your neck. “Oh, Mrs. Floyd. Hi, it’s Haley Nichols. From Woodmont High.”
“Haley.” Mrs. Floyd’s voice was soft and light and it blanketed you. “Honey, how are you?”
“I’m good,” you said, knocking your ankles together. “How are you?”
“Oh, you know,” she replied. “I’m never fine until Bobby’s back from a mission.”
“Yeah,” you whispered. “I get that.”
“So are you and Bobby…” She trailed off.
“Oh, I, um, I’m just visiting,” you replied. “Had some vacation time.” You brushed over the fact that until two weeks ago, you hadn’t seen Bob in more than a decade.
“Well it’s very nice to hear from you, Haley.”
“You, too, Mrs. Floyd.”
“Promise you’ll have Bobby call me when he’s back?” she asked.
“Of course.”
“Thank you, dear. You take care of yourself, OK?”
“I will.” Then, “Mrs. Floyd?”
“Patty, sweetheart.”
You smiled. “Patty. How do you do it?” you asked. “Let him go, knowing that something could go wrong?”
She sighed. “Honey, it never gets easier. You just have to have faith. He’ll come back, he always does.”
***
Despite the fact that you and Bob never spoke about it, the day your parents drove you away, your hands glued to the back window of the truck as Bob stood in the middle of the street, wasn’t actually the last time you saw Bob before you ended up on his doorstep in San Diego.
The two of you had stayed in touch, as well as you could before cell phones were a big thing, and back when email meant firing up your family’s computer room desktop that took thirty minutes to load a Bing page.
When you were eighteen, Bob had been the one to show up unannounced.
Your heart had broken when you came home one night, wasted, clinging to the arm of a guy from your first-year finance seminar, and the elevator doors opened to reveal Bob sitting with his back against the door of your dorm room, a bouquet of flowers wilting in his hands.
He stood when the doors opened, and there was a moment of sobering clarity as the two of you locked eyes.
You dropped the hand of the guy you were with, stepping closer, not really letting yourself believe it was Bob. He looked older, but only slightly. He still had a layer of baby fat on his cheeks that was gone now that he was in his thirties. But back then he had rosy, thick cheeks, and a grimace across his perfect face.
It was the look of sadness that resonated with you.
“Bobby?” you whispered, getting closer.
He looked up. There was so much grief in his eyes. He held out the flowers and you took them, unsure of what else to do. “I shouldn’t have come,” he said softly. “I’m sorry.”
And then he was gone, speed walking down the hall, pressing the elevator button and stepping inside without a second look before you could even make sense of what was happening in your inebriated state.
That had been the last time you saw Bob Floyd.
***
Your feet were sweating inside of your shoes. There was an anxiety that coursed through your veins that felt unlike anything you had ever experienced before. All you knew was that an automated voice message had been left on Bob’s machine while you were out getting groceries. His squadron was returning that afternoon.
You dropped the bag of groceries in the sink, grabbed your keys to the rental car and sped across the bridge toward North Island.
Your heart was threatening to fly out of your chest. Two weeks before, you hadn’t spoken to Bob Floyd in more than a decade. Two weeks before, you never would have been able to believe that you’d be standing on the tarmac, bright sun blinding you, waiting nervously for Bob Floyd to come home. That if something had happened to him, you would never forgive yourself.
That maybe, everything you had felt as kids had never really gone away. Only faded, softly, to just a thin heartbeat that you stashed away somewhere where you couldn’t hear it pounding in your ears. But it was there, it had always been there.
And then there was a rumbling. You turned your head, peering into the distance, trying to piece together exactly what was happening. There were footsteps, loud stomps, and the sound of jets powering down, and finally after a few moments you saw figures headed your way, toward the large white hangar on your right.
You grounded your feet, eyes flickering left and right, trying to find him. Trying to see anyone you recognized. But they were just bodies in green flight suits, difficult to distinguish from one another.
“Haley.” Bob’s voice rang out across the tarmac and you were dashing forward before you even realized it, launching into his arms as he dropped his duffle bag just in time to catch you, your fingers gripping his neck and shoulders tight, face buried against him, your legs wrapped around his waist.
“Oh, my God,” you whispered, pulling back and Bob lowered you down. “You’re alive.”
His eyes melted. Bob reached up, wiping away a tear from your cheek that you hadn’t even realized was there. “The answer is yes, Peanut,” he said.
“What?”
“I’ll marry you,” Bob replied and your heart sank in your chest. He leaned down, pressing his lips to yours.
You tasted like a lie.
