So i've been into musicals for FOREVER and I love singing songs at karaoke and getting into character and stuff whatever THE POINT IS recently i've been considering actually trying out for a musical?? the last time i didn't theater was elementary school if that counts and i've never been apart of a choir so no i can't read sheet music or know what it means sos the closest i've gotten is orchestra. I'm just nervous because i've never done THEATER before and i would have no idea how to prepare and i feel like id make myself look stupid at any auditions if i did; now im here on tumblr again asking for advice!!

(my most comfortable songs to sing are JD's songs from heathers or ngrom from waitress, i can also sing from like deja vu to 505 if that helps to any music nerds anywhere! thanks) anyway i don't even know my voice range and whether im a good singer; also i think that 99% of the time im singing with my head voice and idk how to belt or sing with chest voice so if anyone has any vocal advice on how to sing better and warmup my voice for stuff like this it'd be greatly appreciated i'm literally clueless when it comes to singing so if you think any piece of advice is stupid and common knowledge it's probably not for me and i'll gladly take it

Im kinda like hot and cold on the entirety of dawntrail but there’s definitely a lot of things in it that I think are cute for the beach episode but I really hope don’t become the new standard going forward

I like wuk lamat and I definitely understand the decision to make her the main character of the msq rather than the wol, especially remembering people like automatically calling it the white savior expansion like the minute the trailer dropped I still remember that and think it’s wild people were that quick to rush to the worst possible outcome

But I really hope it’s like, the exception and not the rule that the wol isn’t the main character anymore.

Like idk unpopular opinion I guess but I like being the main character. I like being able to go “go catboy go!!” Like ffxiv is very good at making you actually care about the little guy you made like it’s the joke that you go “haha this is my character his name is scrimblo bungus” “scrimblo bungus has deep lore now” and that’s one of the things I really like about it. If that aspect is just fully gone now I’m kinda :(

With what they’ve set up already I’ll be very surprised if the next expansion isn’t about Zero and the 13th, and I REALLY REALLY like zero like do not misunderstand me she’s become my rebound after they killed Zenos for real but I am kind of dreading if the next expansion is going to be the same sort of formula of us just kinda following zero around and not doing anything ourselves. I’m hoping not because a lot of her character development already happened in the ew patches but it’s still like slightly worrying

The fact that the catalyst for I’m guessing the next arc of stories is an azem thing definitely gives me hope that won’t be the case but Ugh idk

Maybe it is me but I don’t get the vibe that dickkory’s small convo was flippant on either side (i mean a little on dicks at first cos he be like ViSiOnS dOnT eXiSt) but at the end, Kory was like ‘like you said, to hell with visions’ but she seemed so sad about it like she thinks he won’t accept their shared vision bc he doesn’t want it with her. (We all know he does like duh)

I saw some people annoyed that that is all the conversation was but i think it speaks louder than just what was said. I mentioned it on another post but Brentons acting was real good in that scene bc he seems to really wrestle with what to say and although he just says ‘idk’ i think he feels torn. And they’ve also got much bigger issues than that particular vision at this point. Like we can circle back ya know?

MY BABY GAR 😭 he is going through it and when i tell you i was cryING when he grabbed Kory in a hug like i needed a GarKory hug more than I realized. 😭 I am extremely interested in Gar’s whole story this season. I LOVE that he is finally getting more. He seems to forgotten in other seasons and that is a crime. I worry about baby boy but am super happy that its getting explored more.

On the note of Gar, I’m assuming Sebastian or Brother Blood now I suppose was the one to send them to another existence or dimension but Gar went to the red so I am guessing Gar is separated from the team to begin with in part two of the season. I am v excited for part two of the season for multiple reasons.

Connor irked the shit out of me. I get it; tis his Lex side and I completely understand why but the attitude is so grating. Joshua plays it so fucking well but my God every time he spoke I was like stfu 😂😂

Rachel got her powers back and became White Raven!! I was v surprised to see the white dress and cloak but I was like OOOOOH. Her powers are gonna be fierce af in the second half of the season. And talking of powers, Kory’s having gone up to 80% has me NERVOUS. I bet that is how she gets hurt. I fucking bet she supernovas and fucks herself up. Like why else would they mention it?? 👀 i am scared for my fave in second part. 😭

Tim and Bernard are cute. Like it was sweet when they had that litte scene. And omg when Tim was like we kissed to the team, Kory had like a lil smirk on as did some of the others and Dicks like oh big night for everyone then - loved it.

Jinx may annoy me cos of the whole Dick history and clearly being into him still but she really does have me giggling. When she got stabbed i was like aw gurl ya took too long with taunting her frozen self 🙄 but I appreciated in the RV when she was like ‘i could take her out, fucking nut her’ feels so fucking British and I greatly appreciated it. I literally hear people talk like that all the time so I enjoyed that part 👀😂

I can’t think of much else now but I liked the episode. Wasn’t the absolute best imo but it will tide me over til second part of the season which I hope is sooner rather than later- anyone know when it’s meant to be returning??

How DARE you write such a masterpiece as a fanfic and not a book?? I need this story to sit in my bookshelf so I can look at it longingly when I'm unable to read, I need to be able to hug it tightly to my chest, it is imperative that I can bring it with me and smell the pages and shove it into people's faces to make them read it so they too can have this wonderful piece of fiction in their lives, it deserves to have a fan base of its own to worship it and dissect it and discuss it amongst themselves! I'm sorry if this comes off as harsh (idk I'm nervous???) I'm just very passionate about reading this fic because it's so so so good and well written and ugh the plot and worldbuilding, I truly believe it deserves a bestseller title 💖 I hope you're having a wonderful weekend and maybe even getting some nice chocolate

bc thus far, i have liked bsg!! i think its got good potential. i really do. you know, strong set up that i can really invest in if they continue on this trajectory, esp with some really good more insular episodes to work with wherein theyre dealing with like. various crises. like i did actually quite like the episode before this- with the prisoner ship- and the conversations thatbrought up, but also like..

part of me does feel like its lacking a bit. like the show. & maybe thats a 2022 perspective in combination with my own personal tastes. bc i guess i like my scifi... a LITTLE quirkier? LOL. WHO'D HAVE THOUGHT. or not even quirky per se, but... i feel like THUS far bsg is lacking a lot in terms of creativity.

like maybe its bc we havent seen that much with the cylons, yet, but im kind of... uninspired by them thus far as antagonists. the most interesting thing abt them are the models that look like ppl- and whilst i like gaius' hallucinations, and boomer is who im most invested in rn, idk? other than that they havent really done much; theyve kind of just been serviceable. like do you know what i mean? nothing is stand-out to me, yet, bc theyve really just been held at a distance thus far and i GUESS that could be the shows pacing, too, but still. nonetheless, it feels a bit lacklustre in terms of its own identity for sth thats 5 eps + a miniseries in- but maybe again thats a 2022 perspective, yknow?

bc its not just the cylons but again. worldbuilding in general. even small shit, bc theres parts that REALLY INTERESTED ME to begin with- like the fact bsg itself was meant to be more of a museum??? a relic? and thats why it survived? god, cool- use that more! bc if i hadnt seen the miniseries, i wouldnt have even known, man.

and i respect if they wanna keep it kinda earth adjacent, but i still think theres more they could do to really give more depth to stuff like... the politics of this place, especially... theres been hints of it but eh. like it feels earth adjacent as a crutch, sometimes, and not a choice they wanted 2 make.

and i dont think they need to be crazy with it . i know a lot of thats my own personal tastes. theres deffo a way to make it work otherwise if the characters are really strong which so far theyre pretty good so i cant knock it there. early days i guess. early days

and also, i AM a little nervous in general, i guess, of where they might go with the cylons... just in terms of, like, my faith in sci-fi shows in general, especially ones with a military emphasis, and when it comes to developing "enemy races". i feel like its a really hard needle to thread, and theres been one or two lines that sent a warning sign off in my head.

you know what i mean. i feel like... ugh, at BEST its as i said: it can be lacklustre, and bland, and they can just kind of serve as an "enemy" (which that too is a bit ehhh) functionally speaking. at worst we get all sorts of horrific, clumsy ass analogies for racism and oppression which i am genuinely quite worried for -_-

like my point is. they have good pieces to work with but ALSO this setup could be so EYEROLL! if it breaks bad . or could really just peter out in which case i might shut it off bc ehhh IDK IDK IDK
