Go Watch the Venture Brothers

So just heard the complete and utter Bullshit news that Adult Swim has cancelled one of (if not the best shows) they have the Venture Bros. This series is one of those shows that for WHATEVER reason never got to the level of fandom Rick and Morty has even though they’ve been at the genre parody game longer and in my opinion better.

The series is about Rusty Venture former boy adventurer and failing super scientist who in an attempt to keep his head above water in debt goes around with his two boys Hank and Dean, and bodyguard Brock on misadventues while various legal archnemisis go after him, such as the Monarch.

So if you never watched or never heard of this 7 season series let me give you a break down on why you should,

1) Art Style & Animation

Venture bros is one of those rare Adult aimed animated series that that really truly tries to utilize their medium to the best of their abilities. Season 1 had like such a small budget and corners had to be cut so it can be a little hard to watch at times.

But with each passing season they get a little better, a little more fluid, go just a little harder and it truly feels rewarding to watch. Like seeing an artist you follow online improve over the years. Like they COULD have stayed with the choppy and stiff animation from season 1 it fit right in with its fellow adult animated shows but it didn’t. They strove for quality to have something that matched the story they were telling.

2) The Writing

Venture Bros has some of the tightest and consistently great writing of ANY serialized show I’ve seen, adult, animated or other wise. Wanna know why? Cause it’s all done by TWO people (save for like one ep each season where one other person is allowed to touch their baby). Yeah TWO people and they work their asses off every season to interject, humor, refrences, parody, plot and character development in equal measure.

3) Character Development

Um yes in case you were wondering that’s right an adult animated show has CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT that holds as the series goes on. Not to give spoilers but characters will go through changes in alignment, relationships will develop and change, some characters will go through negative arcs where they are straight up unbareable for a season before coming out the other side even better than they were before. There is no end of epsiode or even end of season reset. Characters, settings, and dynamics all change over the course of the show and it feels just so god damn good.

4) Story Development

Just like the characters the story of the Venture Bros grows and changes each season. Things that are set up even as early as season one are paid off as the series goes on. Like not to be that bitch but you know how RIck and Morty teases an overarching plot ALL THE TIME but like will often just spit in the face of fans hoping for more than like one episode a season addressing it? Yeahhhhhhh that doesnt happen here, fans are consistently rewarded for putting the time in to rewatch and really think about what happened in the series. Characters that are seen in the background or are just referenced by other characters will be brought in to be recurring characters, things that start off as a small detail or gag will be given larger relevance and each time they do this you get that “OH I remember that from last season! So thats what it was!” The writers WANT you to rewatch, they WANT you to analyze and they WANT you to theorize, and they give you a show that gives back the time you put in.

5) Parody & Reference

This series does a great thing with parody. They make real characters who are just as enjoyable as the characters they parody, they make story lines that both poke fun at the absurdity of the media but shows the writers love for it. So often parody and references are just used to mock the thing but with Venture Bros you feel the love and care so when you know the thing being parodied you can laugh but feel good about laughing cause they are never laughing at a thing maybe you cared for in your youth but rather laughing with it.

And it’s never just one thing. When they parody a thing its often layered with other things to make it even more unique. Scooby-Doo is overlayed with famous criminals, Laura Croft is mixed Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, GI Joe is given the look of the Village People and so on. They never go for the easy joke or reference. Hell theres an episode that starts with them reciting the lyrics to David Bowies Space Oddity for really no reason other than they could. They weave these things in naturally with their setting and characters so nothing feels out of place. Like if you dont catch a reference or parody you dont feel like “I think this isa reference to something?” like a LOT of things do not just adult animated shows. You arent taken out of the moment cause it all feels so natural.

6) The Characters

God damn these characters, I could go on for hours about these characters. From main to one off these are some of the most likeable characters you can find. I mean it when I say I can’t think of a single character I wish they had cut cause they are all so well created. Even the ones I hate i have fun hating cause they were made to be that way. I’ll be good though I’ll only talk about my absolute top faves.

- The Monarchs

You ever sit and wish villain couples could have functional healthy relationships? Well look no further than Malcom Fitzcarraldo aka The Monarch and Dr. Shelia Girlfriend (yes that is her last name). The Monarch is a high strung impulsive saturday morning cartoon villain whos tendency to over react is only matched by his unspecified hatred of Dr. Venture. And Dr. G is his nonsense partner in crime who will cut a bitch if they don’t play by their admittedly weird rules. Both characters are great on their own but are better together. Though that doesnt mean they always get along. Like a real couple they have their ups and downs they fight, break up, make-up and grow stronger in their relationship with each season.

- Shore Leave

Ok ok so I want you to imagine James Bond, mixed with GI Joe simmering in a cocktail of the most flamboyant gay men you have ever seen and you have one of my favorite gay characters/characters in general. Shore Leave is a member of OSI (the shows SHEILD/GI Joe parody organization) he’s loud, brash, flippant, sassy and highly competent at his job loving every second of getting to beat bad guys down within an inch of their life. I love seeing him play off the stoic Brock and the two have this great brotherly dynamic that’s never called into question. He also gets to have a very cute romance with Al the Alchemist (who is also great). I could talk about this man all day.

- Dr. Rusty Venture

They did such a good job with this man. He’s a self serving, sexist, perverted, whinny, self important asshole and yet you feel pity and genuine sympathy for him and want him to succeed. You can see how Dr. V was given a raw deal by his father who seemed to care more about his adventures than his sons well being and how this molded him into the bitter man he is today, but on the flip side you can see where he chose to use that as a crutch for his worst behaviors and impulses. Seeing him slowly grow and change and be an actual good father to his boys while all the while still be a giant dick is actually really great.

- Dr. Byron Orpheus

Ahhhhh Dr. Orpheus part Dr. Strange Parody part busybody stay at home dad, he’s just such a delight. Dr. Orpheus is a divorcee, with an unfulfilling job of maintaining order to the cosmos (which isnt as hard as one might think), and uses his magical ablities in ways most of us would (ie menial tasks and home chores). Overly dramatic and affectionate Dr. O is a delight whenever he appears, but he’s at his best around his daughter and old friends The Order of the Triad.

Again I can go on but all these characters ranging from main to recurring are crafted with the utmost care for you to want to see them succeed or fail, to see them again even if you know it’ll never happen, and want them to cross paths with other characters.

The Venture Bros is one of those series that I will ALWAYS recommend even to the pickiest of humor tastes. But if you don’t believe its as good as I said or don’t think the concept is to your tastes I’ll recommend a few eps that I think best show off the base idea of the series without giving much away. In terms of plot and spoilers, though somethings wont make a lot of sense.

- S1 ep10 "Tag Sale – You're It!" - Dr. V is having a yard sale so of course all manner of costumed weirdos show up. - S2 ep5 "Twenty Years to Midnight" - basically a fetch quest around the world to save the planet with daddy issues - S3 ep2 "The Doctor Is Sin" - Again daddy issues but with one of the best recurring characters and a great showcase of the series deeper emotional plots - S4 ep6 "Self-Medication" - Really embraces the parody as Rusty goes to a former boy adventurer support group. Anyway the show is 7 seasons with 80 episodes, please go watch it. I will never forgive @adultswim for cancelling what was to be their final season. And in closing GO TEAM VENTURE!

CW censorship, a series:

today im going to give you guys a run through of all the times cw has most likely censored the cast and staff about s15 and explain why the shows ending has become so immensely messy and confusing.

misha collins "bury your gays"

misha stated in last weeks panel that he basically agreed with the statement "bury your gays" being used to describe castiels death and his departure from the show, now in yesterdays panel when someone brought up the phrase "bury your gays" he followed up with this:

to which we get an unenthusiastic attempt of him trying to say he now doesn't believe the cw gave us a "bury your gays trope" which im assuming only means he got in trouble for last week.

jensen ackles "acceptance"

now jensen case is genuinely rather devastating he has been playing this character for 15 years, which is about 10 years more than he could ever imagine to play a role (most shows barely hit the 3 year mark)

he's been giving the writers ideas for how he would want dean to go out for years, and seen deans arc to unfold as someone who doesnt want to die traumatised and get his "peace" in paradise, ie during S4E22 "Lucifer Rising", in which we see deans clear disagreement with this statement.

now jensen ackles has already posted several things that show his distaste for the ending, from his instagram post about the nail all the way to him answering questions in previous panels, but its pretty clear how he was coaxed into being contempt with the current ending as all hes been telling us is how he talked with kripke/the writers AND the cast only to be told that it was a satisfactory ending and he should "accept it".

jared padalecki's immense "support"

before i get into this point i'd like you all to know that i understand some people dont like jared padalecki, however, he has been playing sam winchester for 15 whole years, and has a very "attatched" personality, for him to see his character be demoted from a main character to just some background brother definitely doesnt sit right. so why isnt he saying anything?

taking a closer look at articles being published about the finale including jareds thoughts we see that most if not all of them have a promotional bit for "walker" the cw's new show (out january 2021) starring jarpad as the main role. its obvious hes not going to downtalk the last episode whatsoever while hes still under the cw's grip.

at the moment we know that the cw promo has spent the entirety of the past 2 weeks following castiels death using misha collins as promotional bait to intrance viewers, theyre a very scummy team we know but they know what theyre doing, right now they've given "bronlies" (the older, cishet male majority of fans who believe that the brothers are the only valuable characters) the "perfect" ending, this same majority is the exact intended audience for "walker", theres no doubt they've been building up to this to use jared to promo the finale thus causing the same bronlies to take liking towards him (and then later the new show)

to sum up, no actor playing a role for a decade and a half will willingly promote a series finale that shows his character and talents be disregarded and thrown out.

samantha ferris + cast being ignored

it was rumoured that samantha ferris and several other cast members (alona tal, chad lindberg etc.) were to be in s15 and there being a "big roadhouse scene" giving into the family trope we were promised for the finale.

when asked about this/this was mentioned samantha ferris confirmed that there was no such thing and that the cw had not contacted them in any way for them to be involved with season 15.

the cw claims that the reason we never got the family esque ending was due to "covid limitations" (clearly not the case seeing as we saw jim beaver come back) but contrary to this statement the cw had never contacted the additional cast before s15 (during pre-covid times and intial writing/recording processes)

thus concluding another lie told be the cw to prevent fans outrage against them for ruining the family values of the show.

overall censorship overview

- 15x20 was supposed to be an hour long yet 5 entire minutes were cut from the show (the scenes were recorded yet cut out in post)

- the original script was altered and the ending we got was different to the original (this was backed up by misha as well) YET according to jensen the only thing that was changed was the fact they didnt get a montage of the characters throught the years (which doesnt make sense since we basically got that in 15x19) which just shows how immensely messy this whole thing was

- the original script leak contained a "me too" line from dean that never made it into the cut (as this is a leak this isnt 100% confirmed)

all in all. fuck the cw.

Hey kora I know this might sound stupid or pathetic and I promise I do try really hard to not care about what celebrities say or think but this whole Chad/Samantha thing is really affecting me and whenever this sort of thing happens I just get really upset because of how poorly gay people get treated and constantly baited and how we constantly live on crumbs and also it makes me feel stupid and crazy (bad crazy not fun crazy) for even thinking Dean and cas would be in love even though cas is in love with dean canonically. Is there any way to just stop caring? I’m really hurt and upset by all of this

hi!! first of all mwah. thats a little kiss on the cheek for you if youre so inclined to accept it!!! okay so you dont sound stupid or pathetic at all - i really get it!!! i do. a lot of friends and i agree that today, like so many days, we have to laugh at the levels of bait and shit that gets tossed at gay spn fans because if we don’t, it’s upsetting. you’re not alone in feeling that way. there’s something really disheartening and insidious about the way we’ve been treated for years by actors, writers, producers, other fans, and people who have nothing to do with the show at all but think that destiel is a fun punchline to making fun of fandom stuff. and here’s the long and short of it: we dont deserve it. we deserve to be, at the very least, respected for how we think and feel! there’s nothing wrong with finding queer messages in stories, whether they were intentional or not, and it certainly isnt “disrespectful” to the show (which. what a joke, like she gave a shit about “respecting the show” when she was shading the finale three months ago) to do so. in the case of supernatural, we KNOW that we aren’t crazy - cas literally canonically confessed his love for dean! writers and actors have given nods here and there to behind-the-scenes discussion of destiel, bi dean, gay cas...they know, and they did it on purpose. we only saw what they gave us and patched it all together, we aren’t crazy and we aren’t wrong for doing that.

i guess the best thing i can say as far as specifically feeling disheartened by being hurt, mocked, and disrespected (yet again) by people involved in the show is this: no matter what their role in making the show, once that episode airs, it no longer belongs to them. when we watch an episode, thats it! custody tranfers over to us, the fans - and now that the show is done? these characters belong to US! samantha and chad and anyone else only have as much claim over these characters and this show as we do. in fact, im willing to bet money that we could talk circles around either of them and most of the cast/team wrt lore, characterization, themes, etc like just because they worked on the show does NOT mean they know better

so ultimately, just keep your head up!! it sucks and it hurts that homophobia is so peristent, but all we can do is laugh and shrug it off as best we can. we’ve never been crazy for connecting the dots, and we dont deserve anyone acting like we are. and hey, when all else fails, you can watch their twitter followers go down <3

I’ll touch on your comments about the dub and the Spanish language in a moment. First though

I ’m gonna be real with you, I don’t think you know what death of the author is. Neil Gaiman’s variety of the dead author principal is that once canon ends, the story belongs to those that consume and engage with it. That’s... also literally the theme of supernaturals final season. Anyway I really recommend you read up on death of the author and Neil Gaiman’s takes on fanon. It’s a fun way to consume your media, and in the end that’s what I’m here for.

I don’t care what Misha says, and I don’t care what Jensen says! I think they are both queer because I have eyes and watched the show. I think it’s a lovely narrative that is supported by canon, and it’s fine if you disagree with that

On your last sentence there... lol. It’s a common joke in queer circles that gays can’t sit properly, specifically bisexuals. Same thing with the clothing, it’s a SUPER common joke for example that lesbians wear flannel. Maybe you need to go outside and talk to some normal, non-incest shipping queer people. But what do I know!

And finally... ‘the Spanish dub isnt canon’

I am literally cuban. My first language is SPANISH. my entire household speaks Spanish, and my family past 1st cousins don’t speak any English. My Boricua cousins have watched supernatural in full for years, and they watch it in Spanish. Do you think America is the center of the universe? Do you think our media is somehow less than yours, that our interpretations of English language media isn’t valid? What, do you think we are idiots who don’t know how to analyze literature and media? Do you think the people who work at Telemundo, people employed as dubbers and translators, you think they do a worse job than the American crew?

Why, because they aren’t American or don’t speak English? ‘Te amo’ said to a non family member is, in 99% of any instance, ROMANTIC. it’s something you say to your spouse in serious situations like weddings!! Even MARRIED people don’t normally say te amo, everyone uses te quiero unless it is very serious or romantic in context.

All of my family who are Spanish language, they heard dean say ‘y a yo ti, cas’ and think that they were in romantic love. Sorry dude! The United States might be the center of your universe, but Latin America is HUGE. Spanish is one of the most spoken languages in the WORLD. In fact, more people speak Spanish than English. Sorry that you seem to hate gay characters SO MUCH you have to say an entire language somehow isn’t valid to consume media in!

Station 19 returns in a little over 2 weeks so im going to try to finish my rewatch this week.

Im doing todays rewatch while my daughter plays we'll see if i can work this out.

This is one one of my favorite episodes but im liable to cry watching it again.

Ugh dixon why cant we have lost him this season.

I love the family talks between the crew to start the episode and jack with his seemingly random trivia/information that he just feels like educating his team about.

Poor vic you can see how much she is struggling as the news is on and her crew discusses protesting and police brutality.

I love what Montgomery says that things felt different right after george floyd and breonna taylor were killed, like something was going to change. But now a year plus out i cant help but feel like nothing is really changing, like we all forgot what we saw.

I do love their shirts.

Oh maya trying to navigate being there for her team, doing whats right and whats expected of her. I don't envy her. Also its all in vain and she came so far and is the best captain.

Hughes wanting to change the subject and celebrate marina's engagement, i love her but my heart hurts for her. I also love the support for maya from her team.

I know some fans take issue with vic calling it a lesbian wedding but im onebof those who isnt. That comes from a bisexual woman married to a bisexual woman who normally just tells people she is gay or a lesbian because ita simpler. And also because you can sometimes avoid the inevitable question of why did i choose a woman instead of a man.

I love the i could barely agree to get carina to marriage line and i dont know why.

There's hererra eating away lol; either they just had fun messing with fans or really planned the long game pregnancy. Is it possible we'll see glimpses of her pregnancy in flashbacks this season and then she'll have a baby in present day. This could've been their way of getting around having to film a pregnancy over the course of a season and keeping andy in the action. Hmmm

Vic and travis, i love them. Im glad travis trying to get vic to open up. I just want to hug vic so much, i cant imagine what she's going through.

Barrett kills this episode.

Vic talking about her team is love. In light of the following episode i wish we could've had them all be introduced to her folks on screen. Also i need fics of how the wedding came to be at the restuarant and just marina month apart after becoming engaged.

Ugh between the popo and news its like vultures outside the fire. Also the portrayal of the news pisses me off as a news producer. Thats not to say some news stations may have agendas or some reporters an inability to seperate themselves from the story but in my experience that is few and far between.

These officers are out of line, if you cant do your job properly then hand in your badge you pos. Love the female officer here, ill take more of her. Clearly she has no issue with the station or the lawsuit.

Im glad dean listened to maya and didnt question her. I also just realized she said "ill deal with pd", such a good captain putting herself between the pos and her team.

As maya watches vic and her family you can just see her heart going out to them.

I love them ribbing on andy about eating and her choice of food as well as her loud stomach rumbles.

I love this scene and mama hughes. "Let it burn" so succinct. She is an icon. The recitement of the names never fails to bring tears to my eyes.

That her parents know the names rings differently for vic, its like she feels seen amd that maybe they werent as unaware as they came across.

Jack seems so lost and is just trying to understand the world and himself. I just want him to find his purpose and happiness. I swear it just seems like he'll be the next person killed off after finding his happiness.

I love the boards dedicated to vic, just goes to show sometimes parents care more than they seem and are just not good at showing it. They are so proud of her.

Them both telling just a second made me chuckle so much.

The apology may not bring back michael but its important none the less.

Im glad maya checked on dean. And the solution they came up with. Side note danielle looks so good in this scene, i may have a crush.

Fhe breath she takes when he stops her from leaving, it hurts me. I take it as she is bracing herself for the worst especially when he says he doesnt want to be disrespectful. Its still hard for her to believe she has the teams unwavering support. I love dean telling maya to have a wedding for her station.

Hssss sorry but.... have we talked about how hilarious this actually is?

I'm about to be mean, but they were being homophobic, so i dont feel too bad.

So mr lindberg and ms ferris start shading the finale and get a lot of attention from hellers bc we too hated the finale. Then Mr lindberg makes some Tweets about the roadhouse and is THEN asked to elaborate further upon which he goes on cameo(?) to announce something big is coming. The word wedding is mentioned. Hellers interpret this as a destiel wedding and get mr lindberg trending bc of it. Now this is where i get confused bc mr lindberg gets called out for using heller clout when hes not planning in delivering on that front when he Tweets out the infamous "you didnt get the memo", which emboldens hellers. Now sometime along the way ms ferris got involved, valentines day comes and hellers are doing the absolute most.

At this point lindberg and ferris have somehow lost the plot bc theyre rping their own little roadhouse show, making very loose connections to some characters (the trenchcoat?) But they never tweet about the wedding that is literally trending all over twitter.

Fans are a bit confused, mr lindberg die seem supportive, so why the Radio silence in destiel now? But we're too caught up in wedding euphoria to be arsed. We all know what happened the following days, i dont need to repeat that.

Ok so there are multiple hilarious options here:

1. They literally had no clue about hellers misinterpreting their vague tweets leading up to valentines day and got completely blindsided by people talking about a wedding all of a sudden. I dont think this is the case for chad, but i can somehow see it for samantha bc she does seem somewhat blind on the gay eye (considering she thinks cas and dean are both str8 apparently). This is hysterical, imagine getting all gassed up bc people are hyping your little roleplay Session about characters you havent played in 10 years only for it to be about a gay wedding youre not invited to. Very funny.

Or 2. They knew very well what they were doing by being vague about the gay shit beforehand and are now having a "well if it isnt the consequences of my own actions" kind of moment. I dont think this really applies to samantha, but some of chads tweets just wouldnt make sense otherwise. Also very hilarious, bc someone experiencing consequences for queerbaiting is literally so good.

None of this makes the homophobia of the situation any better, but it does make me chuckle, i cant lie.

Part 5a

Summary: The war is heating up.

Feeling a shift in the bed you let yourself wake up, today was not a day for sleeping in. Gloved finger tips brushed your hair aside. Blinking you looked and saw Roman sitting on the edge of the bed. He was already dressed for the day, his aftershave tickled your nose.

“I made you some tea.”

You sat up near him, you saw your mug sitting on your nightstand. Grabbing it you blew on the surface of the hot liquid. “When did you come to bed?”

“Late.” His mouth was that grim line again, he no longer looked soft.

You took a sip of your tea. “Should I get ready and join you in your office?”

“Yes, I want to keep you close by.”

“Ok.” You had a thought. You were not used to any of this. “Has she tried anything?”

He nodded. “There was a brief encounter but my men handled them.”

You put a hand over his that rested on the bed. “I hope this will be over soon.”

He turned his hand over and squeezed yours. He looked at you. “When she stops playing games and just attacks, it will be.”

You knew he liked running his club and this was a nuisance. “Have you heard from anyone else?”

He inhaled. “They are apparently on my side but don’t want to fight.”

“You will have to remember that when they come knocking.”

He squeezed your hand, the one side of his mouth curled up for a moment, “I like the way you think.”

You wrapped your hair up into a loose bun and then dressed as if for a day in your studio. You leaned against the marble, you missed that moment where you had caught Roman fast asleep.

Pushing, yourself off the counter you went and grabbed a drawing pad and a case of your drawing materials. Opening, the door of Roman’s office he was on the phone, you nodded at Victor was standing near him. You went silently over to the sofa, tucking one leg under you, you opened your drawing pad.

In between, biting down on a pencil or pen it was much easier sketching there then you had thought it would be.

An elaborate bookcase was taking shape when you felt hair pins being pulled from your hair. Looking up, you smiled.

You kept on surprising him. What had blessed him with you? Your idea last night and now that passing remark, he was glad you were his.

He looked at you as you sat drawing on the sofa. They curve of your throat, the look of determination.

He could still feel as you had pressed a kiss to his lips as he slept. He had stirred when you turned. Truthfully, he had not minded. After seeing your bravery and you not flinching at his anger, he cared for you all the more. Honestly, he had grown to love you. But he would never be one to say it.

He looked over at Zsasz. “Go see if the men need anything. Grab food, whatever. Tell them I’ll be around shortly.”

“Sure thing boss.”

He looked over and finally pushed himself away from his desk. Going over to you, he glanced down at what you were working on. He liked it.

With adept fingers he pulled some of the pins you used to hold your hair in place. Your eyes met his.

“Hi lovely girl.” He whispered.

He loved the reactions he could pull from you. The way you brought a hand to your face, blushing and smiling.

“Hi Roman.”

He smiled. “You’ve managed to sketch in here.”

You nodded but then sighed as he let his hand drift up your neck and stopped at your hair line.

“I was, but I’m glad...” He squeezed gently.

“Glad about what baby?”

“You’ve distracted me.”

Gently, he moved his thumb. “How am I do that?”

“Your hand. It feels good.” You breathed.

“Mm, I’m glad. Your lips had felt good when I was trying to sleep earlier.” He loved the little o your lips formed. “I enjoyed waking to the feel of them but I’d like to feel them again, come here.”

Reluctantly, he let go of you. But watching you get up and come to him was worth it. You drew close enough that there was barely a breath between the two of you.

“Where you would like my lips, Roman?”

He felt your breath followed by your lips on his throat above his collar. He didn’t move as he felt you go up on your tip toes, your lips grazed his jaw he inhaled.

“Or perhaps here.” Your body moved slowly down his torso, grabbing his hand. It was the hand where his watch didn’t rest, you brushed aside his glove. When your eyes met his, they were twinkling. Moving just so you kissed the soft part of his wrist.

“Baby.” He breathed, his heart begun to be faster. “Let’s not start what we can’t finish.”

“Then just know I’ll be here waiting.”

He smirked. “I like the sound of that, kiss me for good luck.”

“Happily.”

It was soft and deep, he deepened it as held you closer to him.

“Roman, she’s here.”

Everything in him froze and distantly he felt your body stiffen. He pulled back, he met your eyes. “Stay here.”

He couldn’t read your expression but he didn’t have time.

“Alright. She wants a fight, a fight she will get.”

He went to the bedroom, practically tore his suit-jacket off. He heard something but didn’t pay attention. He could not get distracted. Slipping on his holster, he made sure his guns were loaded and ready.

Coming, out he slipped on his suit jacket back on.

“Zsasz, I don’t care.” You shouted.

“I will lock you up.” He shouted back.

Roman, knew what was going on now. He easily grabbed you, walked with you until, you were against the wall. You had put up a struggle but he easily held you.

“Now fucking listen.” He shouted. His heart raced so hard it, distantly he guessed it was because he cared so much. His blood was rushing through him and pounding in his head. “They easily killed Vanessa thinking it was you. They don’t fucking care.” He inhaled, he saw the tears. “Now stay fucking up here or I will have Zsasz, lock you up!”

He felt you tremble. “Ok.” You said softly.

“Good.” He bellowed, taking one last look at you; your eyes were watery but the tears didn’t fall. “Good.” He whispered and let you go.

He walked away with each step he realized just how much you were part of his life. Rounding a corner, he entered the private part of the penthouse, he punched in the code, then opening the door he walked in. His eyes fell onto his mask, his face for all of this.

His fingertips lightly touched the black marble, the coolness of it reached him through his gloves. He pulled it over his face. Time for action.

You began to pace once Roman and Victor went down in the elevator. You wanted to stay up there but a part of you felt like you should help.

You stopped and you smelled something very odd. You felt a hand cover your mouth and nose. You barely breathed and everything went black.

Okay so as much as i love the dynamic between Alec/Jace Jem/Will and James/Matthew as like opposite parabatai I love and appreciate the dynamic between Clary/Simon even more. Like whenever i see people saying izzy and clary should have become parabatai idk i feel like it wold have just been another opposites dynamic. And also i love that Izzy actively never wanted one. Like I love all the angst and turmoil and friendship that comes from the opposite dynamic but it also really makes me smile to imagine Alec/ Jace , Jem/Will , and James/Matthew in a room like angsting it up and having these deep emotional conversations about how they complete what the other lacks and so on , and then you have like Clary and Simon in the corner laughing playing board games and geeking out abt star wars or something . I just love imagining how much chaos they would cause together and all the fun they would have. How they still poke fun at each other even when they are adults. how they have inside jokes about “Mundane” culture that no one else gets. How Simon will still tell Clary her plans are crazy before immediately saying “I’m in”. Like i just love their dynamic and how similar they are. I think its a lot of fun especially in comparison to most of the other parabatai dynamics in TSC

Trust me, we have all noticed you are a catty bitch like 90% to the time to almost all your anons, we read your tags we know you've made being a haughty superior bitch your tumblr persona, and it is usually mildly chuckle inducing, but this time it just kinda seems less snarky and more bully. The difference now is you are just wrong. We all get it, your ships never went canon and you are fine with that but theirs did, and their movement isn't about the ship so much as the repeated history of treating queer representation like garbage. This was the straw, is all. Also yeah Jensen isn't great but the scene would not have happened without his permission and he himself has been hyping that scene more than the finale and has it filmed on his phone. We all know he isnt destiel's biggest fan but over the past year his attitude changed to admitting it was ambiguous. So just give it a rest and stop the martyr act. When someone tried to explain, you lashed out and you know you did. Stop acting dumb. It isn't that you disagree, it is how you do it, and your repeated mocking in your tags. Obviously I follow you and like your content enough to keep following you but how many times do you have to get anons from various fandoms telling you that you're rude before you give up the "but I'm not rude????" act. Every few weeks someone sends you an anon calling you out and you do this every time, the only difference is now it isn't a difference in opinion so much as you arguing against actual evidence that really happened and went viral. It isn't difficult. I already know how your response is gonna be but sometimes you have to just take the L and move on. I feel sorry for the dub person. Just hoping this gave you some clarification, even if you might just double down on how not wrong you are and unfair you're being treated. Which is fine because that is always my first reaction too.

Okay. I hear you. Can I sincerely ask where I went wrong in my replies to dub anon? I know I upset them but I genuinely thought I was giving a differing point of view on the whole thing so I'm not sure WHAT did it, you know? Like I truly do not know.

I think what we're disagreeing on isn't that evidence like the Spanish dub exists, because obviously it does, but the intention of the network and the show. Because I still find it hard to believe that if they wanted to erase all signs of Dean's reciprocation that they would've let the Spanish dub go to air like that, and I also do not believe they would've backed down to protect some mythical straight adult male demo who has never been a target of the CW, or the conservative Christian demo who would be fine with killing the literal Christian God but not two men confessing feelings for each other.

I think they wanted to leave it one-sided, or ambiguous, because that's what they've ALWAYS done with destiel shippers, and I'm sure I mentioned somewhere in another post that it isn't the fans who are the bad guys here, you've been jerked around by this show for 15 years. They ALWAYS do this. They wink and nod to the fandom, they know the shippers are out there, but then they mock them in text. I never thought the introduction of Chuck and then the fandom surrounding his books and the musical and all that was a friendly wink wink nudge nudge to real life spn fandom, I always thought it was a little mocking, so I guess I'm surprised everyone is in fact happy about canon destiel, and why I've reblogged the memes and shit making fun of how stupid it all was. A sincere "you were right all along" doesn't fit the tone I got from the way the show has dealt with this stuff in the past. That's it. That's what I was getting at.

Andrew Dabb is by far the weakest showrunner SPN has had. I dont understand why you stan him? I mean, you're entitled to your opinion of course but to me he obviously doesnt care about canon or the Winchesters, only the side characters and pandering to the 1% (Hellers)

First, let me say I don't “stan” him, I just don't think he’s any worse than any other showrunner SPN has had, and in some ways, he's even better. Apologies up front that this may run long, but I have a lot to say about the subject.

I didn’t join the Tumblr fandom until s11 was over and the show had changed hands from Carver to Dabb. All summer long I heard from Hellers how Dabb hates the Winchesters toxic co-dependency and is going to do away with it. And he is “for sure” going to make Destiel canon because he likes it and so does his assistant, she even had books published on the subject! So everyone not interested in that ship, dispised Dabb before the season even started filming, However, the Hellers were proven wrong, Dabb has done the least destiel pandering than ANY other showrunner, and has improved on Sam and Dean’s relationship while still managing to keep them dangerously co-dependent, but for some reason, the Hellers still preach the opposite and the bibros still believe them. I don’t think the fandom gave Dabb a fair chance.

Now, I agree that there have been some bad stories, and failure to keep up with canon and some annoying retcons but because i actually watch the series over and over, I can see this has been a problem with every showrunner, even Kripke. A problem I have seen with the show since the beginning is maybe, there have been too many writers and maybe they dont watch the show or read what other writers have written from episode to episode. But since this has been a constant, I dont go nuts when it happens over and over because I still love the show and I am still invested in the whole story.

One thing I learned quickly when I came to the fandom is the hypocrisy is level 50 on all sides. One side hates the other because theyre bullies but the other side isnt much better. Bitter girls are critical of the other brother for things they dont hold against their fav and everyone thinks J2 hate the show as much as they do. These people may never know how ridiculous they look by watching a show for 10 years past the time they stopped liking it, or bitching about a show they dont even watch anymore and pretend they have a clue whats going on.

As I watch the Krikpe era recently, I like picking out things that the fandm would cry about if it happened now. In s1 Faith all the reapers were scary monster looking shriveled old dudes, and then in 2.1 (Less than 10 episodes later) Dean’s Reaper tells him Reapers can appear as whatever they want even a pretty girl “RETCON!!!” I could hear y’all crying if Dabb did that. And why did saying “Christo” help point out a demon once but never again? (till s14 when they did a call back)

How about fan-favorite Mystery Spot? We all love that right? But if it wasnt an episode until the Dabb era, you would all flame it because Sam keeps saying every day is exactly the same, thats how he knows what is going to happen and yet none of the days are the same as the one before. “THESE WRITERS SUCK!!!!!” is the response you all would give

The End is literally double Dean and 5 minutes of Sam. In the Beginning is literally 46 seconds of Sam, if these episodes happened now alll id hear is “Dabb hates Sam... writers hate Jared!!”

How about S4 when the Angels are threatening to kill Sam for using his powers, and yet, they want him to kill Lilith with his powers?? What? Theres no way that would fly in the Dabb era.

How about introducing the Anti-Christ in a season about The Apocolypse and not following through on it? Or how everyone shades Dabb for pushing Wayward sisters when Kripke pushed Ghost Facers? Even threw in a random and highly out of place advertisement for their web series that never went anywhere? (random promo in Hammer of the Gods) or having girls constantly getting in the boys’ way and Dean frequently telling Sam he cant trust him and doesnt believe in him?? “No one knows the brother’s love as well as Kripke uwu”

As far as destiel fodder goes, if anyone just started watching SPN in s12, they would never get a vibe that Dean and Cas have a thing, but maybe Sam and Cas do, Cas and Dean are hardly even friends since S12, yet the Kripke era gave birth to Destiel, and Gamble and Carver fed into it “I gripped you tight and raised you from perdition” “He was your boyfriend first” “Bases loaded bottom of the 9th, (cas) Id rather have you (as opposed to Sam) “ *dean carries trench coat around in the trunk of all his beater cars* “I need you.... we need you” “Theres people, and feelings, that I want to experience differently now, maybe for the first time” (when the only people in Deans life at the time were Sam and Cas) ALL came before Dabb, and what is Dabb guilty of? “I love you, I love all of you” and a mix tape.

So no... Dabb isnt perfect, but he definitely doesnt suck. I just think y’all decided to hate him before s12 and just never gave him a fair shot. Hardly any of you rewatch the series and cant remember things that happened back in the day, you just all seem to have this notion it was all gritty car scenes, googly eyes and dirty motel rooms.

Dr. Sexy of the Lord in 14x12 Prophet and Loss

We need to talk about Castiel in his doctor’s disguise in 14x12 Prophet and Loss.

1) The (Human) Art of Disguise

Firstly, this is such lovely character development for Cas, which illustrates what he has learned from the Winchesters (the art of disguise when working a case) and how good he has got at it, unlike some of his earlier, and more awkward attempts e.g. in 8x08 Hunter Heroici:

In 14x12, Cas is competent, convincing, and works as a team with his Winchester found family, whilst also proving what a sharp and snippy angelic strategist he is, by getting the jump on them to Donatello’s bedside.

2) A Call Back to When Dean Taught Cas About Free Will

CAS: “Dean, if there’s a spark, a hope, then I have to try! You taught me that!”

That line of Cas’ is so full of meaning and power. Cas is angry with Dean for, as he sees it, giving up, and surrendering to some kind of idea of “fate”, and he uses this line to call-back their long history, and how it was Dean that taught him about hope and free will.

Remember this conversation from 4x22 Lucifer Rising?

CASTIEL: “Try to understand, this is long foretold, this is your....”

DEAN: “Destiny? Don’t give me that holy crap! Destiny, God’s plan? It’s all a bunch of lies...!”

3) The Hands of a Healer (of the Heart)

We know Cas was a soldier in Heaven, and that he has commanded armies of angels, but, Cas loves humanity, and he prefers to use his hands for healing. Here he is healing a baby in 8x10 Torn and Frayed:

So, Cas sets out to try and heal Donatello, having realised he has been dream-speaking in Enochian, and all is not lost:

And, he finds it, he finds the spark. And this becomes a metaphor for Castiel’s effect on Dean. Because Dean then says, OK, well, Donatello’s awake, let’s turn off all his assisted breathing machines etc. and see (a metaphor for the mind-set he currently has about himself, i.e. that he has to effectively flip the switch of death on himself and bury himself in that Ma’lak box).

So Dean flips the switch, but, then we get a very clear shot of Donatello’s heart monitor, showing us that, yay, Cas did it, Donatello is life-support-systems-go, all on his own and unassisted.

In other words Castiel is a Doctor of the heart here (a metaphor of course, in subtext, for the heart connection he has to Dean).

And so, as the actual Happy Daze doctor enters the room and sees Donatello is, amazingly, conscious, Dean may dryly refer to it as “a miracle” (because he can hardly say, yeah, Dr. Novak’s an angel, actually) but then just look at his face as he looks at Cas. He understands the metaphor, i.e. that Cas has given not just Donatello a spark, a grace jump-start, an angelic repair to the heart, but that Cas did it to give Dean a spark of hope. And it works:

4) Dr. Sexy of the Lord M.D.

Of course, the doctor’s outfit is a call-back to Dr. Sexy M.D in 5x08 Changing Channels (which, for subtext fans, implies Dean has a crush on Cas, just as Changing Channels implied he had one on Dr. Sexy).

Particularly, as the 14x12 dialogue has Dean say, to the newly awakened, and hungry, Donatello:

DEAN: “He is back, isn’t he? I mean, this isnt some kind of evil, weird version?”

CAS “No, this is the regular him, but he... he... he doesn’t have a soul.”

DEAN “Hmmn, well, nobody’s perfect...”

is a reference to a very famous line in queer film history, the last lines in the movie, the romantic comedy Some Like It Hot (1959) starring Marilyn Monroe.

To escape the mob (having witnessed the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre) two musicians, Jerry, played by Jack Lemmon and Joe, played by Tony Curtis, disguise themselves as women. Hi-jinks ensue, but Joe eventually gets the girl (Marilyn) in the end, whilst another character, Osgood, falls for Jerry in his drag disguise. The ending of the film shows Osgood (in the cap on the left) proposing to Jerry (looking fine in a blonde wig and leopard print in the right).

Jerry tries to give various reasons why it won’t work - such as (s)he can never have children, and s(he) has lived in sin with another man before, but Osgood is unfazed by each one. Finally, Jerry whips off the wig and raises his final objection - “I’m a man!”.

Osgood continues to remain in love and unfazed and says the final line of the movie, “Well, nobody’s perfect!”

Obeying the rules of queer subtext, this is, of course, on the surface, played for laughs, but for LGBTQ readers, it was then, and remains now, a classic moment of queer love pulling back the curtain for a moment on the silver screen.

And in the context of a conversation between Dean and Cas which heavily recalls Dr. Sexy M.D. in Changing Channels and Dean’s subtextual crush (a scene which also has a double reading - played for laughs on the surface, but readily available for the “crush” reading too), this line resonates (for subtext readers) with love between two other unlikely characters, who have nevertheless, paired up, a man and his male-embodied celestial-wavelength-of-intent angel.

N.B: My usual queer subtext readings of Supernatural disclaimer. Elucidating the, certainly readily available, queer reading doesn’t mean I am arguing that the show is about to cross from subtext into text. The show has been telling Dean and Castiel’s love story in subtext only for 10 years and counting, and so, in all likelihood, it will continue.

GoT fans, we need to talk

Okay so it's been a while since the finale and I think it's okay to go ahead and rant about this. I am in agreement that the finale sucked, immensely. But I think that's where my agreement with you guys ends.

This fandom has become one of the most toxic, racist, and sexist things that I have ever seen, and I've been in many fandoms over the years, including star wars and the SCP Foundation fandom, and I'm personally sick of it. I quit caring about the MCU for the most part for almost the same reason, but it hasnt quite got to that point. Close but not quite.

I'm sick of you guys dragging race and gender into this crap. People complaining about how Dumb and Dumber are two white guys who cant write women/people of color, yeah those kinds of comments dont help your case. Quit. Dragging. Race. Into. Everything! Not everything is about skin color. We are not our skin, just as we are not our sexual orientations, or our genetalia. We are what is supposed to be between our ears, nothing more or less. Start using that.

As for the gender thing, I'm getting sick of that even more. If racism is racism, then sexism is sexism no matter who's doing it or why. Male authors have written female characters in the past and have done it exceedingly well. Off the top of my head I can list Stephen King, Tolkein, Dean Koontz, Christopher Paolini, Timothy Zahn, and many many others. Gender isnt the problem. And if you really want to go that route then women shouldnt write men. That's fair and equal, right? Not that any of you would care about what's fair or equal. If this was the case, then the romance genre of novels would die with the exception of romance novels in the LGBT community, which would be a problem as not everyone is into that. Sure we'd get more representation I guess but it shouldnt be all about that. Story should always come first.

Dan and Dave fucked up, badly. But it wasnt because of their gender or race. Stop thinking and saying that it was. HBO tried to offer them more seasons but they refused because they wanted to hop on the star wars money machine. So they rushed through the last season so they could do that. I dont agree with it but that's what happened. That being said, they did subvert expectations (god I hate that) by making a shitty season. But can we please just drop all this superficial shit like race and gender? I get it, they did all of Team Daenerys dirty, but theres no need to drag race and gender into it as the cause. Cant we just agree that these two cant write themselves out of a paper bag and move on? Theres real life racism and sexism in the world and that is more deserving of your ire than a show that isnt even based in reality (okay it was based on the War of the Roses, but it didnt follow history very well, of course). Chapter Twenty-Five, This is the First Day of My Life

About fifteen years later

I sat on the counter, my bare legs hanging down as I stuck my spoon directly into the pint of chocolate brownie ice cream. I had shrugged out of my button up, and was wearing my tank top and plaid uniform skirt. My hair was up in a bun. It was so fucking hot outside. My Chemistry book was in my lap as I did my best to be studious, even though I’d rather rip my hair out than read another word of biology. My final was coming up and it was too damn much.

"You're not my father, Castiel! You may look like him, but you're not him."

"Claire," Castiel grunted. I could hear footsteps padding down the steps to my right. "Please slow down."

"No! I can't believe you brought me to a creepy underground bunker. You had no right!"

My eyes widened as a blonde girl about my age stormed into my kitchen. She wore a gray, ratty T-shirt under a black leather jacket with an excessive amount of silver zippers. Her hair was long with wild curls. She had obviously been crying by the black smudges under her blue eyes.

"This is bullshit!" She shouted, throwing her hands in the air. She turned and caught my eyes.

"Uh, hi," I said awkwardly, spoon still between my lips.

"Do you have other girls trapped here?!" She asked, gesturing to me.

"I actually live here," I said, as I pulled the spoon out of my mouth.

"I'll get your bags from the car," Cas said, awkward as ever.

"I'm El," I said, offering my hand out to her.

She eyed me, checking me out. "Claire." She put her hand in mine. "You a stray, too?"

"Deans daughter."

She raised her eyebrows. "Really?"

"Mhm." I looked her over. Claire. I'd heard that name before. Her words echoed in my head. "You're Jimmys daughter."

Claire's expression softened a bit, but her mouth was still stuck in a scowl. "I was."

"I'm sorry about your dad."

"Me too, but he's been gone for a long time."

"I can't even imagine losing my dad," I admitted.

"The goof in the flannel?"

I smiled a bit. "That's him. He's got a charm." I shrugged. "You get used to it."

"I won't,” Claire said, folding her arms across her chest. "I won't be here long enough to get used to anything."

"It's not a bad set up. Good Wi-Fi. Lots of lore. Great shower pressure." I offered a smile, taking another bite of ice cream. "Not exactly a place to bring dates, but most girls don't have three dads. That has nothing to do with the bunker."

Claire winced. "Three dads. Hell I'd give anything to have one."

"I know Cas isn't your dad, but he's a good guy. He tries."

"I don't want to talk about him."

"That's fair," I said, shoving the spoon back into the carton.

I could see her eyeing my ice cream, and I noticed how sharp her collar bones were under the swoop neck on her T-shirt. "Want some?"

She looked taken aback, but she slowly nodded. "Yeah, okay."

I reached under my legs to open the drawer and pull out another spoon. She hopped up on the counter to sit next to me, and dug her spoon in. "I have a chocolate problem," I admitted. "Especially when I'm stressed. I think it fixes everything."

"What're you stressed about?" She asked, eyeing my plaid skirt.

"Finals." I smiled cheekily. "I know it sounds dumb..."

"Nah. It's a nice change from the roller coaster I'm on."

"Are you in school?"

"Got my GED." She tilted her head to the side, sucking on her spoon. "School wasn't my thing."

I resisted the urge to reach up and wipe the makeup off from under her eye. "So no college?"

"I'm in the college of life,” she said flatly.

"Hm."

"I'm surprised you're in school at all. If you grew up with hunters."

"Dad wanted a different life for me. He wanted me to have opportunities that he didn't have."

"Noble," Claire said taking another bite of the ice cream.

"Maybe," I said, closing my chemistry book. "But on the other hand, maybe it's not what I want."

Claire leaned closer to me. "And what do you want?"

"I'm still deciding." I looked down at my book, sitting it next to me. "But I haven't even had the opportunity to learn the hunt. He's worked so hard to keep it away from me. I love what they do. They save people, and I'm just in class reading a fucking book about theories."

Claire looked taken aback when I cursed and then she smiled a bit, mischievously. "You have some fight in you."

"I'm a Winchester." I smiled widely. "All we do is fight." I grabbed her hand. "I know you don't want to be here, but if you stay we will fight for you, too."

Dean

Present

Things were way too fucking quiet on the apocalypse front. Sammy said he had some things to take care of. He wouldn't tell me what. Things seemed fine between him and Ave, but I wondered if he needed some time away from us, to get his head on straight. So I let him go, even though it's against everything I believe in to watch my little brother walk away, I let him go.

I sipped my coffee in the kitchen and looked out the window at the sunrise. I never got up early, but I couldn't sleep. I never could anymore.

"Morning," Ava said, walking into the kitchen.

"Hey," I said, glancing at her.

"I have a present for you."

I turned toward her and raised an eyebrow. "You do?"

She walked to me, the island in between us. She pulled her hand up and and sat down her newspaper. "I think I have a case."

Her eyes were glistening. Fuck she was beautiful. "Really? A case? Sam just left."

"I thought you and I could work it together."

I walked closer to the island, just the counter between us. I reached across and touched her cheek. "I'd like that," I admitted. "Tell me about the case."

"Uh... can I help you?" A young man behind the counter asked.

We were in a book store that carried a large selection of comics. We suspected a haunting, even if it seemed like a long shot.

"Sure hope so. Agents DeYoung and Shaw. Just need to ask you a few questions," I said, flashing my badge. Ava did the same next to me.

"Notice anything strange in the building, last couple of days?" Ava asked.

"Like what?"

"Well, some other tenants reported flickering lights," I said, glancing around.

The man scratched his head. "Uh, I don't think so. Why?"

"What about noises? Any skittering in the walls? Kind of like rats?" I asked.

The cashier squinted. "And the FBI is investigating a rodent problem?"

"What about cold spots? Feel any sudden drops in temperature?" Ava asked leaning into him.

A grin grew on the mans face. "I knew it! You guys are LARPing, aren't you?"

Larping? The fuck is that? "Excuse me?"

The cashier gestures to us. "You're fans."

"Fans of what?" Ava asked, crossing her arms.

I tugged on the tie around my neck, feeling claustrophobic all of a sudden. "What is 'LARPing'?"

The cashier rolled his eyes. "Like you don't know. Live-Action Role-Play! And pretty hardcore, too."

I frowned, my eyebrows coming together. "I'm sorry, I have no idea what you're talking about."

"You're asking questions like the building's haunted. Like those guys from the books. What are they called? Uh... Supernatural. Two guys, use fake IDs with rock aliases, hunt down ghosts, demons, vampires. What are their names? Uh... Steve and Dirk? Uh, Sal and Dane?"

I swallowed hard and Ava and I exchanged a look.

"Sam and Dean?" She offered.

"That's it!"

My head was spinning. He didn't make any sense. How could he know any of this? "You're saying this is a book?"

"Books. It was a series. Didn't sell a lot of copies, though. Kind of had more of an underground cult following." He moved from behind the counter and walked over to the bargain bin and began to dig around. Eventually he came across a book and handed it to me. "That's the first one, I think."

"Supernatural by Carver Edlund." I frowned at the classic romance novel cover. "Along a lonely California highway, a mysterious woman in white lures men to their deaths."

Ava raised her eyebrows. We had suddenly forgotten about the case. "We're gonna need all the copies of Supernatural you've got."

Ava

We went back to the motel. Dean was getting obsessed with the books, and if I was being honest, my head was spinning too. I sat crisscrossed on the window seat typing away on my laptop. I was doing research on the books about their lives, about my life. Dean lounged on the bed, reading intently.

"This is freakin' insane. How's this guy know all this stuff?"

"I have no idea," I said, glancing at him.

"Everything is in here. I mean everything. From the vampires on the beach to us having sex. I'm full-frontal in here." Dean stood up, rubbing his face. "How come we haven't heard of them before?"

I sighed and gestures to my screen. "They're not exactly popular, Dean. Kind of obscure. The publisher got put out about a dozen before they went bankrupt. The last one ends with you going to Hell. I'm in here too. It all is in here." I was suddenly happy that there wasn't another. I couldn't take him reading about Sam and I raising his child without him.

He took the laptop from me. "I reiterate. Freaking insane." His eyes widened. "Check it out. There's actually fans. There's not many of them, but still. Did you read this?"

"Mhm."

"There are Sam girls and Dean girls and... what's a slash fan?"

"As in... Sam-slash-Dean. Together."

Dean looked up at me over the laptop. "Like, together together?"

"Yup."

He looked disgusted. "They do know we're brothers, right?"

"I don't think they care." I laughed. "They say a lot about me too, look," I said, taking back the computer. "Ava's character is flatly written. Dean deserves someone just as complexly written as he is." I rolled my eyes.

"We got to find this Carver Edlund."

"I don't know if we can, babe. No tax records, no known address. Looks like Carver Edlund is a pen name."

Dean groaned. This was really getting to him. "Somebody's gotta know who he is."

"Well, I have an idea, but it might be a little crazy."

He leaned into me, putting his hands on either side of my face. "You know me, Ava Winchester. I live for crazy."

After some research, I found the location of the publisher. She was obscure, but surprisingly active on social media. Not only did she publish the books, but she ran the official fan club. It wasn't hard to locate her house.

Dean and I stood in her kitchen. She poured us each a glass of iced tea. "So you published the Supernatural books?"

"Yep. Yeah. Gosh. These books... You know, they never really got the attention they deserved."

I forced a smile. "Right. Well, we're hoping that our article can... shine a light on an underappreciated series."

"Yeah, yeah, because, you know, if we got a little bit of good press then maybe we could start publishing again." She pushed her glasses up her nose. She was bouncing in her shoes.

Dean raised his eyebrows, throwing his hands up. "No, no, no, no. God, no. I mean, why would you want to do that? You know, it's, uh, such a complete series, what with Dean going to Hell and all."

Nice recovery.

The publisher, but her hand on her chest in a swoon. "Oh, my god! That was one of my favorite ones, because Dean was so strong and sad and brave. Watching him give up everything for Ava. It was beautiful. I mean, the best parts are when they'd cry. Gosh... if only real men were so open and in touch with their feelings."

I snorted a bit, biting the inside on my cheek. I did my damndest to keep it together.

"Real men?" Dean asked flatly.

"I mean, no offense. How often do you cry like that, hmm?"

"Well, right now, I'm crying on the inside."

"Is that supposed to be funny?"

"Lady, this whole thing is funny."

I elbowed him gently.

The publisher took off her glasses. "How do I know you two are legit, hmm?"

"Oh, trust me. We, uh... we're legit."

"Well, I don't want any smart-ass article making fun of my boys."

"No! We would never," I jumped in. "We are big fans. Really."

"Hmm. You've read the books?"

"Cover to cover," Dean agreed.

The publisher crossed her arms in defiance. "What's the year and model of the car?"

"It's a 1967 Chevy Impala."

"What's May 2nd?"

"Sams birthday," I said, wincing, knowing it was coming up.

"What is the gender of Ava and Deans baby?"

"A little girl," I said, itching to reach for his hand.

"Dean's favorite song?"

"It's a tie. Between Zep's Ramble On and Traveling Riverside Blues."

The publisher grinned. "Okay. Okay. What do you want to know?"

"What's Carver Edlund's real name?" I asked, leaning forward

"Oh, no. I... No. Sorry, I can't do that."

"We just want to talk to him. You know, get the story in his own words," I said weakly.

"He's very private."

"It would mean so much to us. Like I said," I stepped to Dean, unbuttoning his shirt. He looked at me suspiciously, but allowed me to continue. I exposed his anti possession tattoo. "We are big fans."

The publisher looked weak seeing Deans skin. She fanned herself a bit. "Okay." She took out a pen and paper and started to write. "His name's Chuck Shurley. And he's a genius, so don't piss him off."

Dean

Present

The front door swung open after a few brisk knocks. A man with an unkempt beard and shaggy hair squinted at us.

"You Chuck Shurley?" I asked.

"The Chuck Shurley who wrote the Supernatural books?"

The man eyed us. "Maybe. Why?"

"I'm Dean. This is Ava. The Dean and Ava you've been writing about."

The door shut in my face. I groaned and pounded on it again. It creaked open.

"Look, uh... I appreciate your enthusiasm. Really, I do. It's, uh, it's always nice to hear from the fans. But, uh, for your own good, I strongly suggest you get a life." Chuck tried to shut the door again, but I put my arm in the way, stopping it.

"See, here's the thing. We have a life. You've been using it to write your books."

I pushed my way past him into the house, Ava following behind me.

"Now, wait a minute. Now, this isn't funny."

"That's the understatement of the year." Ava laughed dryly. "We just want to know how you're doing it."

"I'm not doing anything."

I turned to him. "Are you a hunter?"

"What? No. I'm a writer."

I raised my eyebrows, crossing my arms. "Then how do you know so much about demons?" I stepped closer to Chuck, causing him to fall backwards on the couch.

"What do you want?" He stumbled over his words.

"I'm Ava, and this is Dean. Sam isn't here, but he's real too."

Chuck shook his head. "Ava, Sam, and Dean are fictional characters. I made them up! They're not real!"

"The fuck we aren't," I said, grabbing him by his ratty T-shirt. "Get up."

We walked him to the Impala, and I popped the trunk, showing him our full Arsenal.

"Are those real guns?"

"Yup. This is real rock salt, these are real fake IDs," I explained.

"Well, I got to hand it to you guys. You really are my number one fans. That's, that's awesome. So, I...I think I've got some posters in the house."

"Chuck, stop," I said putting my hand up.

"Please. Wait. Please, don't hurt me," Chuck said cowering in front of me.

Ava laughed a bit and walked toward him. "How much do you know? Do you know about the angels? Or Lilith breaking the seals?"

Chuck looked at her in shock. "Wait a minute. How do you know about that?"

"No. The question is how do you."

"Because I wrote it?"

"Waits" Ava began. "You kept writing?"

"Yeah, even after the publisher went bankrupt, but those books never came out. Okay, wait a minute. This is some kind of joke, right? Did Phil put you up to this?"

I sighed and punched the bridge of my nose. "Well, nice to meet you. I'm Dean Winchester, and this is my wife, Ava."

"The last names were never in the books. I never told anybody about that. I never even wrote that down."

"Now you're getting it," Ava said with a forced smile.

Chuck looked weak, so we each took a side of him and took him back inside.

He sat in the sitting room, and poured himself a whiskey. "Well, there's only one explanation. Obviously I'm a god."

Ava laughed and shook her head. "Yeah, you are not a god."

"How else do you explain it? I write things and then they come to life. Yeah, no, I'm definitely a god. A cruel, cruel, capricious god. The things I put you through. The physical beatings alone."

I shrugged. "Yeah, we're still in one piece."

"I killed Ava in front of you. I killed your mother... both of your mothers. All for what? For entertainment?"

"You didn't create us, Chuck," I said gently. "You're not god."

"We think you're probably just psychic," Ava added.

"No. If I were psychic, you think I'd be writing? Writing is hard."

Ava sat next to him. "It seems that somehow, you're just... focused on our lives. On Sam and Deans."

"Yeah, like laser-focused. Are you working on anything right now?" I asked.

Chuck gasped, suddenly rising. "Holy crap."

"What?" Ava asked, watching him rifle through papers on his desk.

"The, uh, latest book? It's, uh, it's kind of weird. I uh, I wrote myself into it. I wrote myself, at my house... confronted by my characters."

Ava and I exchanged a look again. What the fuck is going on?

Ava took the papers from him.

"So... You wrote another chapter?" I asked.

"Dean," Ava said, scanning the pages with her eyes.

"What?"

"If this is real... it's... fuck it's bad."

"What is?" I asked, my eyebrows coming together.

"It's Lilith." Chuck said, meeting my eyes. "She's coming for Sam."

If you don't like Misha, this post might make you smirk.

I did this post yesterday and then deleted it because the OP made me feel sorry for her. Luckily for me, someone reblogged it and my momentary stupidity is now remedied. This whole scenario makes me smirk.

Yesterday's post:

Doll face found @dean-supernatural-akf ranting in the main tags, including the Jensen tag, which is why she forwarded this biased drivel to me. Thanks sweetie. I scrolled though OPs blog, trying to figure this person out, because she ships wincest and destiel, apparently. And she hates the haters. It is convenient and dismissive to label those who don’t agree with you, don’t you think? Label them rather than proving them wrong conclusively, because that would be difficult and you might lose the argument because of a lack of intelligence. So call them names and be done with it. Her rant is in italics, and my rebuttal in bold.

Very recently i got heavily missunderstood, and i’m making this post so it won’t happen again.

I asked someone if their blog is real . Because it was so full of hate against this actor named Misha Collins.

This guy right here, and I bet when you are one of the anti misha people then you even share the same look on your face right now, congrats.

Listen… I love JENSEN and i love JARED. And yes i love MISHA too.

But i don’t follow him around like a dog, i don’t kiss the ground where hes walking on.

AND i also don’t do this with J2.

Why is it that when there is an entire blog dedicated to hate for Jensen or Jared, there is no bleeding heart rant like this about that blogger? But if you write a blog about all the mean things Misha and his fans do, you are a “horrible human being” with “toxicity and hate in your heart”. No, I would prefer to call it discernment. I wont like someone just because “it SPNFamily darn it, haters don’t belong”. So if Misha gives me consistent reasons to hate him, I am still not allowed to hate him because I will be ejected from SPNFamily? What is this? A communist fanbase? Nobody is allowed to have their own opinions? Everybody must think the same way and feel the same fairytale happy feelings? Which dandelion world did you pop up from?

I fight for all of them, i fight against the hate that all of those three get and Misha gets more hate then J2 and thats a fact.

Misha gets more hate? Really? You mean like death threats? Like people tweeting him directly that they wish he was dead? That kind of hate? Please, show me where the hate is. Bring me your receipts. I want to see all the hate that Misha gets.

And it’s so fucking unfair, i have seen blogs and people that wish that he would die, a man with two children and wife.

This is so sick and it’s so not okay.

Prove it. Screenshot and show me where all these horrible people are. I will put it in a post. I always do. The death threats and death wishes for J2 have been screenshotted and are on my blog. So I have proof for my claims. Bring the proof for your claims. Its called making mature statements. Quantifying your claims. So please, set me straight. Show me all the nastiness poor Misha gets. I would like to see it.

About the Misha minions, MISHA ISNT THE ONLY ONE WITH MINIONS.

Shocking again, right ?

From under which rock did you emerge? Misha named his fans minions. Very disrespectful. No other actor has ’‘minions’’. Benedict Cumberbatch didn’t like his fans referring to themselves as Cumberb*tches. I respect him for that. Misha did the opposite. Shocking, right?

The people who only love J2 hate on Misha. And the people who love all of them hate back against the anti Misha people.

That is an incredibly simplistic way of putting it. And it gives me the impression that this rant was written by someone who is young and idealistic in their notion of how the world works. How come you don’t talk about the people who like Jensen and Misha and therefore hate Jared? You cant. You cant because that would be problematic to the narrative you are vomiting right now. Those cockles perverts are the ones that tweet him, telling him that that they cant wait for him to die. Receipts on my blog.

The way you support J2 is the same way that Misha’s people support him.

Actually no, J2 fans don’t get angry when Misha is interviewed for Elle magazine, yelling “where’s J2”. They don’t ask “Whose line is it,anyway?” why they excluded J2. They don’t threaten to burn Misha alive in his house for being anti-destiel and/or making a joke about Jensen. That happened with Jensen. I have the receipts. The same group were discussing kidnapping Jared’s kids. That group was made up of 3500 people. So many haters slipped up your radar? Well, now you know.

Minions and bitchy people are EVERYWHERE.

Yeah, take a page out of your own book. If you don’t like the “haters”, as you dismissively call them, then don’t put this incorrect, unsubstantiated, unquantifiable rant in the main tags. In fact, keep your uninformed opinion to yourself.

Dealing with the entire subject of hate, in the most abstract manner, without any analysis into your darling actor’s bad behavior and without taking into account the nasty behavior of his fandom, shows that high school is all you know. Hopefully, one day you will grow up and think on broader terms.

Cyberbullying is a serious subject, and thats exactly what you do with Hate Blogs and Hate tweets and Hate comments.

Keep using the word “hate”. It will abrogate all the legitimate anger that the J2 fans have against Misha and his hellerminions. Hellers are the biggest cyberbullies in fandom. They sent hate directly to J2. Some of the things they write will shock a person who has a real disdain to hate, not a daffodil like you who thinks Misha is infallible and doesn’t deserve an anti tag. One said that she couldn’t wait for Jared to die. And she tweeted that directly to Jared, along with a praying emoji. Oh, you don’t know about that? Well, then I guess you are not an authority on who is SPNFamily and who is not, now are you?

You want to be a bully ? You love spreading hate ?

Don’t reply to this? Then why put it in the main tags, as well as inappropriate tags, and still hope that nobody disagree with you. Aren’t we childish?

What happened after the post was put up:

She DM's me and says that she has since changed her mind because she did another post about the hate that J2 get, and if I could please remove my post, because she was suffering panic attacks over it. I said I would, but she is going to remove the above misleading post and provide me with proof that Misha gets death threats. Caught between a rock and a hard place, she said that she came across the death threats on two blogs, that had blocked her for some mysterious reason, which is why she couldn't screenshot the evidence. I found what those reasons were, when I went to those blogs:

I searched through their blogs, and found nothing. No death threats. They just point out the truth about Misha. That is it. She accused them for nothing. Of course, that didn't occur to me until today, because I still felt concerned for her because the poor kid was suffering panic attacks. So I deleted the post. Today I find this message from her:

''So i asked like 10 different people Misha stans and Misha haters about those things you said he did. Nobody has ever heard of it, no one. You are telling your lies man, i aint stopping ya. But you are a horrible person if you need to attack a 19 year old on the Internet and 'Call me out' just because it gives you a kick. And just because you disagreed. My post will stay deleted because it wasnt up to Date anymore, but it wont be my last one. People like you need to be stopped, people like you are the reason why this fandom sucks so hard. Bye Bye. You are the sick one here .''

I don't know whether she thought it was going to hurt my feelings or something but, it actually helps to show her true identity. She is not a wincest fan. She is a Sam-hating heller in disguise. Who would have thunk it?
