Yes of course! I feel like I did quite a few lists for pining Harry so this one will focus on smitten Harry told from his own pov. I tried to mix old favorites with fics I don’t see recced often. This is for @tackytigerfic whose fic didn’t stop running in my mind after reading it, mostly this scene, or, scratch it—all of it hunts me, especially tacky’s approach and style of writing.

This is easily my favorite portrayal of Harry who finds his friendship with Draco after the war conflicting. His yearning, his hesitation, and good lord his undeniable attraction were conveyed with raw intensity that was both sensual and captivating. I enjoyed how there’s not much dialogue and instead it took me inside Harry’s mind. It was so sensory that it made my skin tingle.

Tacky, the writer that you are. I’m in awe of your ability to craft such compelling stories. Please marry me.

PS. I just need to mention again that the scene with Draco’s beauty spots and scar killed me. I am forever including that every time I draw him.

Okay first of all, is there anyone who doesn’t like Forced Bonding? Because I fucking LOVE IT. One of my favorite tropes! (Let’s be real, I love a lot of tropes).

This fic though. For one, I really love tackytiger’s writing! They’ve got a strong voice and a deft touch, so there are these little moments that just make you laugh.

I personally can’t really vibe with Drarry fics that don’t address in some way the fact that Draco was a really terrible person, and help me walk the path to get him to a place where I’m invested in the story, and tackytiger really does that beautifully! You can see the way things have shifted and changed for both of them, and this Malfoy has grown and changed in really interesting ways.

There’s so much love and lust and longing in this and it’s so beautifully written!

Wizards Hearts Recs: Powerful!Harry

Wizards Hearts was a four-month-long Drarry reading fest. Players were given a playing deck of 52 tropes, and were asked to find 52 different fics to read and comment on to fill their decks. To prevent the same few fics from being read, fics were restricted to only being used for the game three times before being considered ineligible for further points. After a few of years of travelling around the world, Harry decided to move to Muggle London, looking for peace and a place where the scar on his forehead doesn’t have a meaning. His new flat is in a perfectly normal neighbourhood close to the centre, quiet during the day but full of students at night.

He really likes the small bar down the road, a place that serves cheap, awful drinks and plays good old classics. It’s always crammed with people talking, laughing or dancing along with the riff of electric guitars.

From the first time he crossed the threshold, Harry thought it was perfect, the right mix of noise and warmth to be alone without feeling alone. Just what he needed.

He couldn’t imagine that someone else was there for the very same reason, looking for a place where the Dark Mark was only a tattoo.

Blame it on the alcohol, on the music or whatever you want, but when Harry’s eyes landed on Draco’s slim figure, swaying on the dancefloor, something warm and inexplicable possessed him.

Making new alleys, and losing old ones on the way, would hopefully be worth it in the end.
