sometimes i see posts of steve and max where they call steve "the brother max deserves" and it always irks me a little because billy was the brother max deserved, they just killed him before he could properly show it. 🤦🏻‍♀️
she had a brother, they (the writers) just didnt use him very well. clearly by s3, billy and max were on good enough terms for her to mourn him all the way into s4. her grief and survivor's guilt and the trauma not just from his death but from living in an abusive home and being part of that abusive cycle are the reasons she gets targeted by vecna, and there's an entire episode titled after the letter she writes to him and reads to his gravestone. the last words he ever says are an apology to her.
calling steve the brother she deserves like billy isnt an integral part of her character, like billy isnt worth considering or looking at or like he doesnt exist, like he's somehow a villain that was cast upon max, a punishment she didnt deserve... that aint it. it takes away from their character backgrounds and the nuances held within them imo.
i love steve but the brother max deserves is a living billy, shuttling her around in his camaro and calling her "shitbird" and being like a real brother and sister, the way she wishes for in her letter. i have no doubt that had billy survived starcourt, they would have gotten there. they just chose to let him die instead. :/

Dead or Alive
After Spring Break, no one could find Eddie Munson dead or alive. His Uncle Wayne, the angry mob, even the police couldn’t locate him so everyone assumed he was dead. Some grieved his loss but most celebrated his apparent demise believing it to be what he deserved after killing Chrissy, Fred, Patrick, and Jason and hurting poor Max Mayfield.
Once the town recovered enough, Wayne bought a headstone for an empty grave and dutifully washed off the new graffiti that appeared each day. The kids of the Party mourned the loss of their idealistic Dungeon Master and disbanded Hellfire Club out of respect to him. And Robin and Steve disappeared to Steve’s empty house to grieve the loss of a friend (or so it seemed).
Because while everyone thought they were grieving and finding support in each other, they were actually caring for Eddie’s wounds and watching gay movies on Steve’s couch. They are junk food, cuddled in front of the TV, and appreciated being alive.
Steve couldn’t be around the party because he was supposed to be broken-hearted but it was the opposite. While he left the Upside Down the most recent time with more scars, both mental and physical, it also gave him everything he’d ever wanted. It took him away from the job he hated, gave him more time to spend with Robin, and it gave him a prospective boyfriend.
He felt bad keeping Eddie a secret away from the kids and his uncle but he had no other choice. Until he and Robin could brainstorm a logical explanation for his innocence and return from the dead, it’d be the three of them in hiding. Which to him, wasn’t a bad thing. Between the love of Robin and Eddie, his house felt less like a crypt and more like a home.
After a few weeks, they’d all gotten used to their solitary. Imagine their surprise when someone walks in on the three of them watching the Rocky Horror Picture Show right on the scene of Rocky showing off his fishnet clad calves. Imagine Officer Phil Callahan’s horror when his eyes landed on an injured homicidal maniac sitting half on his brother’s lap while drooling over Tim Curry. And imagine Steve’s mortification when his brother stood unmoving in the doorway of the living room with one hand on his hip and the other held over his open mouth in shock.
“WHAT IN THE FUCK IS EDWARD MUNSON DOING IN OUR PARENT’S LIVING ROOM?!” Phil shrieked, his face going red in barely concealed rage.
Steve, Eddie, and Robin all spoke at once.
“Is he? Oh my goodness, I didn’t notice. Steve, Eddie is in your house!”
“It’s just Eddie, you piece of shit.”
“Ok technically, I can explain.”
Phil just looked at them like all three of them were insane. “HE’S A KILLER!”
“No he’s not. He’s just a metalhead, Phil.”
“What is that supposed to do with anything, Steve?! I don’t care that he’s a metalhead, I care that he murdered at least three people in a week!”
Steve shot up from his seat so he was nearly eye-level with Phil. “Woah, he did not! I was with him the entire week and neither of us killed anyone.”
Phil just shook his head in confused exhaustion. “Is he dangerous?”
Steve looked him directly in the eye, “no! He didn’t do anything and he’s one of my best friends now.”
“Fine. I’m not dealing with this shit tonight. You,” he pointed at Eddie, “don’t kill anyone. And Steve, do not wake me up before ten AM unless someone is getting killed. Jesus Christ.”
He stomped up the stairs, grumbling under his breath the entire way. Meanwhile, Steve sat back down next to Eddie and gave him a small smile. “Well, that went better than expected.”
Eddie looked at him in disbelief, “did it Steve? Did it?”
(It, in fact, did not. The next morning, Steve had to tackle Phil away from the phone when he tried to call the chief and then had to hold him down while Robin rambled the entire story in an impressive four minutes. He only gave up once Steve threatened to disappear himself and Eddie (and Robin) forever without ever contacting Phil again.)
Should I make this into a longer fic? Let me know in the comments please!

Everyone who’s touched grief knows it’s bigger than two hands can hold. The inexperienced try to string together the right words to lighten the load and those who grieve wear a momentary mask of comfort, feeling instead heavier. Those who’ve experienced grief know there are not enough words in the world to replace something as simple as a small action.
You don’t remember the platitudes and false virtues strangers assign to the dead, but after a long day when you find your fridge full of precooked meals, you’ll remember who dropped off the potato salad. Max was sick of people who didn’t know her, telling her how kind her brother was. How funny he could be. How talented he was.
No one, save the rare few, know what to do with complex grief. Max didn’t know how to unpick her thoughts, let alone put them into words and hold them up for someone else to see and understand. That didn’t mean she didn’t want to be understood.
She didn’t know how she could miss someone so deeply while being in some small part, glad they were dead. No one tells you what to do when your thoughts betray you.
By the time Max and her mother moved into the trailer park, people had stopped telling her how much they missed Billy, which was a small blessing. They’d also stopped dropping off food or offering to do their laundry. Max and her mother had been too proud to take anyone up on that offer, but she missed the thought.
Two months had passed, and it felt like everyone forgot Billy existed, that anything had happened. Lucas and the other boys had started asking her to hang out again. The unspoken grace period given to her and her mother for mourning had ended. Now it was back to business as usual. Her mother returned to work, and Max was left alone in an empty trailer full of boxes.
That was when Steve arrived with a Tupperware container under one arm and a fancy untouched toolbox under the other.
“Figured you’d need some help,” the boy muttered, kicking off his shoes, not waiting to be invited in.
He knew better. If he’d asked, Max would’ve told him to piss off. She couldn’t understand why Steve of all people was able to read her moods so well.
Steve hadn’t been much help rebuilding the furniture, but he’d supplied the Allen key and screwdriver so she couldn’t complain. He was good at unpacking boxes. With the two of them working, the task had taken a day, as opposed to the week it would’ve if she’d done it on her own. She was meant to be in school that day, but she couldn’t bring herself to go. She’d expected that to be the last she saw of the older boy but instead, he made a habit of checking in on her.
Steve kept dropping off meals. After a week he started driving Max around on the days the mere mention of school threatened to topple her. Sometimes she’d hang around the back of the video store. On other days he’d drop her off at the arcade and she’d play Dig Dug until her eyes burnt and her fingers cramped.
She didn’t know exactly when it’d happened but somewhere along the way, she found herself getting strangely attached to the guy. She’d lost one brother but gained another.
That was why when Steve stopped driving home at night, she’d sent Eddie to get him.
Max didn’t know much about Eddie Munson. His uncle and Max’s mother infrequently drank coffee together at the communal picnic tables. Nothing ever happened. Max knew her mother and how she acted around her boyfriends. This was different. They just sat together, mostly in silence, watching the sun go down. It kept her mother from drinking so much or so early. What Max did know about Eddie Munson was that he owed her.
One night when her mother was out, the cops came poking around the trailer park, asking her if she’d seen anything suspicious. Max wasn’t dumb, quite the opposite. She knew Eddie sold drugs. She also knew the cops wanted to pin something on him. She wasn’t altogether sure why, maybe there was some pressure to put someone behind bars from the kinds of places that had neighbourhood watches.
It was only when crime started to leak into the suburbs that people went searching for the culprits. Some rich kid spikes a girl’s drink in Loch Nora and the next thing you know, they’re looking for drug dealers in trailer parks. The guy will get a smack on the wrist, while Eddie? He’ll get thrown in jail and the people of Hawkins will sleep a little better at night, knowing all is right and just in the world. Until the same guy does it again. Then another trailer park kid is marched off to the stocks.
Max had learnt how the world worked young. It’d been out of some strange sense of solidarity that she’d kept her mouth shut about Eddie. When the cops split, she’d given him the heads up to keep his nose clean while there was blood in the water. She hadn’t done it for a favour. But if nothing else, she was opportunistic.
Steve wasn’t driving home most nights. Max knew because she’d take note when the Beamer shot past the trailer park. Some days it was in the dead of night, others, the early hour of the morning. He wasn’t staying over at girls’ places like she’d first thought. Even if he wasn’t the golden boy he’d once been if someone slept with Steve Harrington, the whole town knew within the week.
She’d followed him one afternoon, riding her skateboard at a safe distance. He’d drive around, past their houses, as though on his own neighbourhood watch. He’d finish his patrol and pull up at any number of odd locations, the train tracks, the junkyard, the woods. At first, she’d worried he, like Billy, was possessed. After long days of silent observation, she realised the kind of ghosts that possessed Steve were of his own making.
Max didn’t know what to do until she saw the light on in the Munson’s trailer past midnight. She stalked across the way, pounded her fists on the fly screen, and called in a favour. She asked Eddie to check on Steve. He’d looked at her like she’d grown a third head but agreed.
Tumblr media
Eddie Munson didn’t do favours but Red was a good kid, so he’d made an exception. He began his quest by driving past the Harrington’s manor, hoping for his own sake to find the BMW parked in the drive but Max had been right, Steve wasn’t home, nobody was.
Eddie was tempted to check all the usual spots he’d go if he were a meathead jock with ample time and money. There was skull rock, the notorious Harrington make-out spot and a has-been jock party was going on in the next suburb over from Loch Nora, but Red’s instructions had been clear. If Steve wasn’t at home, she’d rattled off a list of places he might be, each one growing stranger.
That was how Eddie Munson ended up in the junkyard. The place was surprisingly well-lit, despite the late hour. He worked his way through an overgrown thicket, cursing himself for wearing his white Reeboks. He’d be scrubbing out grass stains with a toothbrush for the next week.
Mounds of trash and scrap metal shot out of the dried grass like rocks rising from the ocean. Amongst it all, burning bright as a lighthouse was a rusting yellow school bus. It stood in stark contrast against the blue, black night. A dull glow bled out of the vehicle’s shattered windows.
Eddie found himself drawn to the little island of light as a moth flocks to a flame. His feet moved swiftly, eager as a young child at the prospect of adventure. He slipped in through the half-open door of the bus and was greeted by another body slamming into his.
Eddie’s head cracked against the metal bus frame, making him groan. It wasn’t until he tried to move that he realised there was something sharp pressed against his neck. Against all his better judgment Eddie swallowed, feeling a broken bottle nip at his skin.
Eddie’s eyes flickered to the wielder of the weapon. A once mighty king had fallen like his surrounding kingdom, into a state of disrepair. Steve Harrington. Heavy is the head that wears the crown.
“Harrington,” Eddie spoke, keeping his voice soft and even, as though speaking to a wild animal that could startle.
There was a manic look in Steve’s eyes Eddie knew well. He’d never thought he’d see the ghost of himself dance across such a pretty and foreign face. The days before Eddie moved in with Wayne were better left alone. He knew the wide-eyed vigilance of people who’d grown used to fending for their lives. It was a look he’d never imagine Steve Harrington capable of.
A glint of recognition shifted over Steve’s face and the eyes of years long past were gone as though a trick of the light. The bottle disappeared from his neck, shattering as it dropped against the floor of the bus.
“Shit, Munson. Sorry,” Steve uttered, moving out of Eddie’s space.
Eddie was surprised Steve remembered his name. Across the six-odd years the two had gone to school together, Harrington had spoken to him a grand total of three times. The first, to ask for a pencil in Spanish. The second had been a disgruntled ‘hey, man’ as Eddie sidestepped his lunch tray on one of his biweekly jaunts across the jock table and the third, which Eddie only now recalled, had surprised him.
He’d gotten a D in history. It’d been the final nail in the coffin, solidifying the fact that he’d once again have to repeat his senior year. Eddie spent the rest of the class carving his name into the underside of his desk with his thumbnail until it was bloody and covered in splinters.
He’d almost lasted until the end of class before he had to excuse himself with little plan of where he was going or what he was doing. He knew he wanted to get away, that he needed to be anywhere but there. He wasn’t sure what’d tipped Harrington off but as he shuffled past the former king’s desk, his eyes downcast, a hand shot out to snag Eddie’s forearm.
“Hey, Munson? There’s always next year,” Steve muttered under his breath.
From anyone else, it would’ve sounded condescending, but Steve genuinely meant it. Eddie hadn’t known what to say. He’d felt a sudden lump rise in his throat. He took off, thinking it’d be the last time he’d see Steve Harrington. He’d wished he’d been so lucky.
“So, Harrington, what’s someone like you doing in a place like this?” Eddie asked when his heart rate returned to a regular rhythm. He heard a snort escape Steve’s throat as he leaned back against the opposite wall of the bus.
“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.”
Eddie wanted to know when Steve had started to sound so world-wearied. Nineteen-year-olds shouldn’t sound so worn thin. The closer he looked at Steve, the more he saw. His eyes were chaliced with the kind of purple, blue bruises that came from weeks of sleeplessness. There was a pale pink scar, slicing a line from his bottom lip to his jaw. In time, it’d fade into obscurity, but for now, in the cold of the night, it stood out like a crack in fine china.
“What are you doing here?” Steve asked, sliding down the wall to a seated position, as though once again settling in for the night. Eddie heard glass tinkle and grind under Steve’s body.
Had his parents kicked him out? Was he hiding from someone? Eddie knew fuck all about Steve Harrington and he’d liked it that way. Screw not doing favours. Red owed him one after all this was said and done.
“Finding a new place to pedal goods. New chief of police has been riding my ass,” Eddie lied. It wasn’t as though he was going to tell Steve he was sent on a fetch quest by a fourteen-year-old.
A flicker of pain shifted across Steve’s face before disappearing. It was a moon sinking below the horizon line, leaving no trace of the momentary night as a false smile painted his face the colour of a sunrise.
“Can’t say I’d recommend this old rust bucket. Isn’t drug dealing in a junkyard a little cliche?” Eddie rolled his eyes and sank to the floor of the bus, nudging Steve’s foot with his.
“Keep giving me lip and you’ll have to pay double.”
Harrington never brought from him. The freckled asshat, he used to hang around with would buy weed once in a blue moon, but never Steve.
“You got anything on you?” He asked to Eddie’s surprise. He hadn’t exactly come prepared. He searched the depths of his pockets, finding two small ziplock bags and half a pack of rolling paper. He threw them Steve’s way.
“On the house. Looks like you need it,” He mused and watched as Steve’s fingers worked, quick and methodical. Hagan had obviously shared his stash with Harrington.
“Got a light?”
Eddie fetched his Zippo from his back pocket and leaned over to light Steve’s joint. The guy looked surprised. He should’ve handed the lighter over. Too late now.
Steve’s lips were poised so close to Eddie’s fingers. His face illuminated by flame, caused Eddie to shift closer. He lifted a hand to Steve’s cheek, acting under the guise of trying to shield the flame from the breeze filtering in through the broken windows and half-open door.
“You got anything stronger?” Steve spoke, breathing a plume of smoke into the night air. Eddie wasn’t sure it was wise, but he’d never counted wisdom as his strong suit.
“Back at my place.” Steve snorted, smoke billowing from his half-pursed lips, his eyes beginning to haze over.
“People’ll talk.”
People always talked when it came to Steve, but surely not in the way the boy was implying. Ramrod straight, Steve Harrington couldn’t make a gay quip, not about himself. Maybe he was embarrassed about what being seen with Eddie could do to his dwindling reputation.
“I’m pretty good at keeping a low profile,” Eddie supplied, and Steve nodded stoically.
“Stealthy, like a ninja,” Steve replied.
It was Eddie’s turn to choke out a laugh. Goofy had never been a quality he’d assigned to Steve Harrington. He supposed the trait had its charm. It worked on Eddie.
“Like a ninja,” Eddie echoed.
When he’d said yes to Red, he’d assumed he’d drag Steve’s likely-intoxicated, ex-jock ass home and call it a night, but looking at the boy across from him with the joint tucked between his lips and the thousand-yard-stare, Eddie had to admit there was a change of plans.
“Have you heard about the world’s best ninja?” Eddie asked, his once pristine shoes nudged themselves beneath Steve’s Born in the USA style blue jeans.
Steve shook his head, a flicker of curiosity dancing over his face, his stupid floppy hair, falling in his eyes.
“That’s why he’s the best,” Eddie insisted and felt his insides grow warm when Steve cackled. He was pretty when he laughed. He looked more like the guy he’d been back in high school, more carefree.
Eddie wasn’t a stranger to sitting with people and talking them down on their worst nights, but a relative stranger was new.
Eddie stood and extended a hand to Steve. The boy clasped onto his ringed fingers and pulled himself up.
“My van’s parked half a mile up the way, you coming?” Steve shrugged and followed close at Eddie’s side.
The two walked in relative silence, standing so close their hips played the role of balls in a Newton’s cradle, knocking against one another in a rhythmic pattern.
Back in the familiar landscape of his van, Eddie was once again hit with the strangeness of the situation as he watched Steve slide into his passenger seat, snubbing out the remains of the joint in the ashtray. He thought of their spit mingling in the little petri dish and pushed that thought aside. He’d always been good at holding back those kinds of thoughts. It came with the territory.
“Why do you need something strong?” Eddie asked as he turned the ignition.
If he’d learnt anything from his uncle, it was that hard conversations were best had behind the wheel. That way no one could storm out. He’d admitted to his uncle he’d failed his first senior year as the two sat at the juncture between Maple and Main. He’d come out to Wayne along Lakeside Dr.
“Why did you really come to the junkyard?” Steve countered. He was smarter than he looked, or at least, smarted than Eddie had assumed.
“I’ll show you mine if you show me yours,” Eddie quipped after a second, watching as a bemused smirk twitched onto Steve’s face.
“It’s been a hard year, man. Hard couple of years,” Steve confessed. Eddie wasn’t going to let him get off that easy.
“Is this to do with you getting unceremoniously shunted off the top of the Hawkins’ High totem pole?” Eddie asked.
He had a feeling whatever it was ran far deeper than just popularity, but this was Steve Harrington. Steve was pretty and popular. He wasn’t allowed to have real problems. That’s not how the rich and stuck-up operated.
“Honestly? No. Think that might’ve been a good thing.” Steve drummed his fingers against the passenger door.
“Then was it the thing with Wheeler?” Eddie asked, watching Steve cringe. Maybe he should leave it alone.
“Part of it. I don’t know.” What followed was a loaded silence.
Eddie kept casting glimpses from Steve to the road, watching as his face screwed in concentration as he searched for words.
“I feel like it’s my job to protect everybody,” He admitted, his voice barely raising above a whisper.
“And I don’t know how. I feel like I’m supposed to have all the answers but I just... I feel like a kid, who’s in way over his head.” Steve pulled his knees up to his chest, and settled his chin on them, not daring to look in Eddie’s direction.
He was a year older than Steve and he felt like a lost kid most of the time, as though he was an imposter masquerading as someone who knew what the hell he was doing. He wondered if that feeling ever went away.
“Red sent me to check up on you. The kid’s worried,” Eddie confessed watching as Steve’s head snapped to look in his direction.
“She’s got enough on her plate without worrying about me.”
Steve didn’t need to say what Max was dealing with. Eddie knew. Hawkins was a small town, and Billy Hargreaves was infamous. Eddie had a bad feeling about the guy from day one, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t feel sorry for him, dying in a mall fire. Hell of a way to go.  He’d heard rumours Max had been there when it happened. Then again, he’d also heard talk of Steve slinging ice cream at the mall. Eddie could see a picture beginning to form. He didn’t like it.
The two didn’t speak for the rest of the drive back to Eddie’s trailer. There was nothing left to say. Steve continued to tap his fingers absentmindedly, so Eddie leaned over, turning on the radio. The tape deck played the thrashing guitar and pounding beats of the latest Slayer album. Eddie liked it well enough, but he cringed, preparing for Steve to chew it up and spit it out. He didn’t. He shut his eyes, rested his head against the passenger window and promptly fell asleep. Eddie would be damned.
Unsure of what to do with the sleeping boy and the blaring music, Eddie drove in circles around all the familiar back roads of Hawkins, steering clear of the potholes and dirt tracks. It wasn’t until Eddie’s eyes started to droop that he called it a night, pulling up outside his trailer, flicking his floodlights twice in the direction of the Mayfield’s, letting Max know he’d gotten Steve home safe. Well, he’d gotten Steve to his home safely.
Eddie was contemplating the logistics of getting Steve out of the car when the boy began to stir. His eyes fluttered open for a second to meet Eddie’s before he groaned and turned to bury his face into the car seat. Damn it all. Eddie had managed to go for years without developing a crush on Steve, it wasn’t goddamn fair he was about to do it now.
“Good morning, Starshine,” Eddie teased, walking around to open the passenger door for Steve.
“Welcome to my humble abode. I have drugs or you know... a comfortable bed. Pick your poison,” Eddie spoke as the two made their way to his trailer.
As they stepped into the main room, Eddie watched as Steve’s eyes scanned the place, lingering on Wayne’s collection of mugs and novelty hats, a ghost of a smile on his face. Eddie grabbed onto Steve’s wrist and led him down the hall.
“The drugs and the bed are in my room,” Eddie explained as they went.
Eddie nudged the door to his room open with a flourish of his hands.
“This is where the magic happens,” Eddie explained and watched as Steve quirked a brow.
“Mind out of the gutter, Harrington. I was talking about literal magic.” Eddie smirked gesturing to his stack of Dungeons and Dragons’ manuals, handbooks, and campaign notes.
“You’re such a nerd,” Steve grumbled flopping onto Eddie’s bed.
Maybe it was the high that’d made him seem looser, but Eddie liked a Steve who took charge. He crawled under the covers, making himself at home in Eddie’s bed.
“Demogorgons suck ass,” Steve uttered after a moment, his face muffled by Eddie’s pillow. He wondered if he’d fallen asleep on the ride home and driven them into a ditch, because there was no way Steve was in his bed, talking about D&D. Eddie liked demogorgons, something he elegantly articulated by muttering,
“You suck ass.” As he flopped beside Steve in bed. Steve snorted.
“That’s one thing I haven’t tried,” he confessed. Yes, he was high. Eddie couldn’t imagine a sober Steve making that confession openly.
Eddie settled on top of the covers, hyperaware a sober Steve might not be as receptive to waking up beside Eddie. He was in over his head.
“Are you okay with this?” Eddie questioned as he rolled over to lay on his side, propping his head up to get a better look at Steve, half smothered in his sheets. As much as people talked about Steve’s love life, they also talked less favourably about Eddie’s, or his lack thereof.
“You’re not going to punch me in the face in the morning?” Eddie concluded, voicing his concerns. His heart was tugging him closer to Steve, but he wasn’t willing to do anything they’d both regret.
He’d been shockingly open to letting the boy into his innermost sanctum. Maybe he had a saviour complex, but he wanted to know how much of a commitment the two would have, how long was the piece of rope that tied them together? Was it a momentary truce or the start of something?
“No,” Steve breathed after a beat, seeming equal parts understanding and offended Eddie had asked.
The two lapsed into silence. Eddie was left wondering if Steve had fallen asleep again, but the rise and fall of the boy’s chest was too shallow. Steve eventually let out a groan and rolled to face Eddie. Whatever momentary reprieve had allowed him to sleep in the car had passed.
Eddie’s gaze was once again drawn to the growing blue beneath Steve’s eyes. He had stuff that could help Steve sleep, but he knew from experience, drugs could only do so much. They were numbing jell on a knife wound, a momentary relief from pain without fixing the real problem.
“Can’t sleep?” Eddie spoke, trying to get inside Steve’s head, to unpick what was going on with him. Steve nodded miserably.
“Anything I can do to help?” Eddie wondered.
There were no guidelines for the strange turn the night had taken. Steve opened and shut his mouth, gaping like a fish on dry land. He had some thoughts, it appeared, but none he was willing to voice right away. Eddie felt strangely endeared to the boy in his bed. He’d give him anything he asked, even if he didn’t think it was smart.
“Is it true, what people say about you?” Steve asked after a long pause.
That wasn’t what Eddie had expected. He blanched and watched as Steve’s eyes swelled, his panic rolling off him in waves, crashing head-on into Steve.
“Never mind, don’t answer that. Christ, that was invasive. Sorry,” Steve fumbled, sinking further beneath Eddie’s sheets to hide his face. It appeared it was a night for confessions.
“Were you asking about the satanic shit or the gay thing?” Eddie spoke candidly, his fingers knotting in the covers.
You didn’t come out to just anyone. You sure as hell didn’t come out to someone like Steve unless you had a death wish, though Eddie was quickly learning the Steve Harrington that existed in his head and the one lying in his bed were two different creatures.
“Forget I asked,” Steve repeated, rolling over to turn away from Eddie, a faint flush dusting his cheeks.
“I don’t worship the devil and I’m not gay,” Eddie found himself confiding.
He watched as Steve’s body went still. Eddie couldn’t see his face, but he could tell his mind had kicked into overdrive.
“Oh, cool,” Steve spoke sounding suddenly distant, as though that hadn’t been the answer he was looking for. Eddie didn’t know Steve Harrington at all.
“But I’d be lyin’ if I said you were the first guy I’ve had in here, Steve,” Eddie continued, giving away more than he’d intended.
Steve peered over his shoulder and quirked a brow. He didn’t look shocked or disgusted as Eddie had anticipated. He looked relieved.
“Like Bowie?” He wondered aloud. Eddie couldn’t help but roll his eyes.
“Yeah, like Bowie- I mean, I have a preference. Guys suit me better, I guess. But sometimes a girl’ll surprise me.”
The conversation felt intimate, surprisingly more so than when he’d admitted it to the guys in Corroded Coffin. With them, there hadn’t been follow-up questions. The guys had been supportive, but they hadn’t known what to say. It’d been another fact about Eddie they’d taken in their stride without much acknowledgement. He hadn’t felt the need to explain himself. He didn’t know why, but when it came to Steve, he felt like he needed to explain the whole thing in intimate detail.
“Me too,” Steve muttered, sounding entirely unlike himself. He was quiet and unsure; two traits Eddie had never assigned to the Steve that lived in his head.
“I mean... for me, girls are easy. Guys are... new?” Once more, Steve sounded unsure.
“Maybe not new because it’s always been there but I just left it alone.” Eddie wondered what’d spurred on the change, whether it was a near-death experience or something else entirely. Eddie was good at reading between the lines.
“Steve, I’m going to ask you again, okay? What do you want me to do?”
Steve sucked air in through his teeth, gripped the sheets and finally let his shoulders sag.
“Can you just... hold me, for a bit?” Steve asked at last, sounding as though Eddie had placed a loaded gun to his head. Of all the things Eddie had been expecting, that wasn’t it.
Eddie moved closer, lining up his hips and Steve’s back, throwing an arm around the boy’s waist. It was different. Eddie was used to closeted guys wanting to have sex with him, but they didn’t hang around long after.
He thought back to Steve’s words. The guy wanted to protect everybody, from god knows what, but who was looking out for him? He hooked his chin on Steve’s shoulder. He smelled faintly of cologne and something chemical, hairspray.
“This okay?” Eddie clarified. Steve’s body felt stiff and unresponsive in his arms.
Steve hummed. It took him a moment to relax but when he did, he practically melted into Eddie. The boy pushed back, fitting their knees together. Eddie was thankful they’d decided to keep their jeans on, fearful of what any more skin-to-skin contact would do. Steve cradled Eddie’s palm to his heart and dropped his chin to his chest, so Eddie could feel the ghost of the boy’s breath dance across his fingertips. Steve was a renowned good lay, but the Harrington charm went deeper than that. The guy was good at cuddling, something Eddie hadn’t thought was possible until he had every inch of Steve pressed and curled against him.
“This okay for you?” Steve asked after a moment, his breath tickled against Eddie’s knuckles.
“Great for me,” Eddie confirmed sounding as breathless as he felt.
Steve’s heart beneath his hand thundered, letting Eddie know the boy wasn’t as cool and collected as he was pretending to be. He didn’t point it out. He did two things very out of character for Eddie Munson. He remained still and silent. Steve’s breath grew deep and even. Eddie leaned closer, pressing his face into the nape of Steve’s neck as the boy began to whimper in his sleep.
“I got you,” He assured.
“You’re safe. M’not going to let anything happen to you.” Eddie promised.
It took time, but Steve settled and at last, Eddie let the long night swallow him whole.
Tumblr media
Max decided Eddie Munson was useless. She’d watched him pull up outside his trailer around three and she hadn’t heard from him since. She’d thought the idiot would at least give her a heads up on how things had gone with Steve, but it appeared she had to do everything for herself.
At 10 a.m. when there was still no sign of life from the Munson’s trailer, save for Eddie’s uncle pulling in around six, Max stalked over and wrapped her knuckles against Eddie’s bedroom window. After a moment a mop of curly brown hair popped into view.
“Wha?” The boy grumbled, still half asleep.
“How did things go last night?” Max asked, taking the tone of a scolding mother, talking to a very small, very dumb child.
“Good,” Eddie confided a goofy grin crossing his face. It confirmed Max’s suspicions. Everyone else, save her, was useless.
“Well, where the hell was he? Did you talk to him? Did he seem weird? Is he okay?” Max rattled off a list of rapid-fire questions only to be hushed by Eddie.
“He’s sleeping, Red. Keep the volume down.”
Max opened her mouth to ask what the hell Eddie was talking about when she caught a familiar glimpse of styled, sandy hair peeking out from beneath the sheets. Max, unlike most people, wasn’t an idiot. She’d grown up in California, she knew the way the world worked. She didn’t need anyone to spell it out for her.
“Gross,” She grumbled. Not because Steve and Eddie were both men but because Steve was like her older brother and Eddie was- she didn’t want to think about it.
Max let out an elongated sigh, squared her shoulders and spoke.
“You like scary movies, right Munson?” He seemed like the type.
Eddie nodded.
“Michael Myers hasn’t got a thing on Max Mayfield. You do anything stupid with Steve and I’ll show you how I got the nickname Mad Max.”
Eddie swallowed thickly and nodded. It was all for show, but someone had to say it. Someone should always be in Steve’s corner. Max had the feeling Steve wasn’t used to people looking out for him. She knew the feeling.
“Sir yes sir,” He breathed, faking a salute. Max rolled her eyes.
She had a feeling she was going to regret bringing Steve and Eddie together but when hours later, Steve showed up at her house with a Tupperware container full of spaghetti and a secret smile on his lips, she had to admit, for once she might be wrong.

Bad Habit | pt. 2 | Eddie Munson x harrington!reader
part one
summary: The truth comes out
word count: 5.0k
cw: smut (18+), fluff, loss of virginity, unprotected sex, oral (m&f receiving), afab!reader, use of y/n, mentions of drinking, swearing, she/her pronouns
a/n: first of all, i just wanted to thank everybody for all the love part one received! secondly, reader is adopted, so there is no mention of resembling Steve. thank you for reading :)
Steve thinks you’re acting unusual.
You’re barely home anymore, you whisper every time you use the phone, he’s pretty sure he spotted a hickey on your neck about a month ago and you’re always in a good mood.
For example, yesterday morning Steve accidentally woke you up because he was unaware you were home and he was expecting you to flip out on him or at least scowl at him.
Instead, you thanked him for waking you up so you could watch the sunrise…
So yeah, he’s a little suspicious.
All signs point to you being in a relationship and as your older brother he’s hoping it’s literally anything else. You guys live in a small town and he’s well aware that most of the guys here are total douchebags.
He even asked Robin and Nancy if you had said anything, but they knew nothing. Though both of them did agree that you’d been more on the chipper side lately.
If you are dating somebody, he isn’t surprised you haven’t said anything to him. Growing up with absentee parents, Steve was a little protective of you.
He goes into your room to try to get some information out of you but you aren’t home…
Shocker
_
“Eddie stoooop! I can’t breathe!” You say through laughter.
You’re currently in the middle of a tickle war in your boyfriend's bed.
Okay, war might not be the best word because it isn’t much of a fight.
“Fine. I will concede… for a kiss” He stops tickling you and anticipates your lips on his any second now.
“Hmm… I’m not sure if that offers good enough” You’re bluffing
“Let me prove it to you?” He smirks
You sit up and capture him in a kiss. It’s sweet and unhasty, like you have all the time in the world.
He eventually pulls away and stares into your eyes.
“What’s the verdict?”
You can’t stop smiling. You’ve been awake for barely ten minutes and Eddie’s had you smiling ever since you opened your eyes.
“Think I need another one to make sure you’re forgiven” He’s already leaning down to give you another kiss.
This time, the kiss grows more fervent. Before you know it, Eddie is pulling you on top of him.
His hands are roaming all over your body and when he gives your ass a delicate squeeze, you let out a quiet moan.
“Fuck, I hate to do this but I gotta get up. I’m working on Steve’s car today before his shift”
You rest your forehead on his shoulder and let out a sigh. He kisses your head in apology.
“You’re lucky you’re cute, Munson”
“Being cute is my specialty”
You both smile and you roll off of him. “Apparently humble isn’t” you joke.
He laughs and gets out of bed. You don’t miss the opportunity to admire him and if his back wasn’t turned from you he'd definitely make fun of you a little bit for being so obsessed with him.
He wouldn’t be wrong.
“Alright, I guess I should head out so we don’t get there at the same time. Don’t need Steve connecting any dots”
You gather all your stuff up while Eddie gets dressed.
“Don’t you dare think you’re getting out of here with a proper goodbye” He steps over to you to give you a goodbye kiss.
He holds your face in his large hands and it would be so easy to fall back into bed to finish what you both started, but Eddie’s too kind to cancel on Steve.
Dammit
“Tell me how much you’re gonna miss me” He smiles widely and you giggle
“Maybe I can show you tonight instead” You compromise and the look on his face lets you know that’s a great idea.
You give him one last peck and reluctantly walk out to your car.
You’re aware that having your car at Eddie’s might not be the smartest idea considering Max lives right across from him, but sometimes you can’t risk being dropped off down the street of your house the next morning.
Luckily for you, you’re her favorite (don’t tell Steve), so she doesn’t plan on ratting out seeing your car at Eddie’s. She also can’t really be bothered.
Max thinks it would be sweet if you and Eddie are an item. Don’t tell anyone she thinks that, though. She’ll deny any accusations.
_
“Good morning, Stevie” You say, walking into the kitchen.
“Good morning to you too, stranger. Stay at Laura’s again?”
“Oh. yeah. She’s been a little down lately so I just wanna be a good friend” You fib.
Laura has been your alibi since you and Eddie got together. She’s the only other person aware of what’s going on and it’s a safe option since she’s your closest friend who doesn’t hang out with your brother.
“Hm I guess that explains why you whisper every time you’re on the phone. Must be pretty personal?”
Your eyes widen for a split second before you act natural.
“That’s the reason. Super personal, Steve, you shouldn’t be eavesdropping. Anyways… what are you up to today?” You change the subject
“Eddie’s coming over to work on my car before I go to work” He says with a mouthful of cereal.
“Cool… I’m gonna go get ready for the day!” You scurry upstairs.
You knew it was going to be hot outside today so you decided on wearing your shortest shorts and a crop top. You’re definitely only wearing this because of today's forecast. No other reason.
_
Eddie looks so unfairly sexy while working on Steve’s car and it has you in tizzy.
You were watching him through the living room window, but when he put his hair in a low bun and took his shirt off, you had to go to your room to distract yourself.
Feeling bored, you decided he must be absolutely parched and could use a glass of water.
You grab two glasses of water for both of them and a bottle of beer for Eddie.
“I come bearing gifts” you announce walking over to them.
“Thanks, ba- bro. Thanks, bro” Eddie almost slips, but luckily Steve doesn’t realize anything.
“You didn’t bring me a beer?” Steve pouts.
“You have work soon. You want one get it yourself. You’re welcome, by the way”
Eddie chuckles and you can’t help but adore the sight of him.
Suddenly, You’re suddenly aware of the fact that Steve is watching you make eyes at Eddie.
“Well, um, I’m gonna go back inside.” You say and walk hastily inside.
“She’s been so weird. Do you think she’s acting differently lately?” Steve asks Eddie.
“Weird how?” Eddie’s voice goes up an octave.
“I don’t know. I think she’s got a boyfriend and scared to tell me. Just because she’s my younger sister doesn’t mean I’m gonna murder the guy she’s dating”
“Dude, when I first met her you threatened to shave my eyebrows off if I even thought about her.” Eddie cringes as he brings this up.
“That’s different. You’re one of my best friends it would be fucked up if you were…canoodling my sister.”
“Oh yeah. Definitely fucked up. Um, anyways, does she at least seem happy and stuff?” Eddie asks and hopes it doesn’t sound too obvious that he is in fact canoodling his best friend's sister.
“Annoyingly happy. She’s always smiling like it would kill her if she stopped. It’s creepy” Eddie looks away from Steve because he can’t contain the ginormous smile on his face.
“Well when you meet him, just try to keep in mind how happy she’s been lately.” He says in hopes that when Steves inevitably finds out, he’ll remember this conversation.
It’s highly unlikely.
“Alright, your car is good to go. Wanna make sure she starts?” Eddie suggests and Steve gets in the car. Both boys cheer at the sound of his car starting.
“You’re a lifesaver. I gotta get ready for work but feel free to stick around and use the pool. Maybe keep an eye on y/n so she doesn’t invite over whatever asshole she’s dating.” Steve is half joking and Eddie gives an awkward chuckle.
_
While Steve is in the shower, Eddie finds his way into your bedroom.
You’re lying on your side reading a book, completely unaware of his presence. He stands in your doorway and admires you until he decides he wants to be a menace.
In true Eddie fashion, instead of saying something to make you notice him he jumps on top of you, making you yelp.
“Well that’s one way to get my attention” You say and set your book on your night stand.
“And you’re half naked. That’s the best way to get my attention.” Eddie says, referring to you being dressed only in a sports bra and the shortest shorts in existence.
Eddie grabs you and flips you so you’re on top of him. You can’t help but kiss him for a couple of minutes before pulling away to stop.
“We can’t.” A kiss. “Steve is home.” Another kiss. “Let’s go downstairs” You let your forehead rest on his and give him a chaste peck before moving off of him. You throw on a t-shirt and leave your bedroom.
“Guess what Steve told me while I was working on his car.” Eddie says while following you down the steps.
“What?”
“He thinks you have a boyfriend.”
“Fuck, he doesn’t know it’s you, right?”
You both sit on the couch and leave a respectable distance between each other.
“Are you kidding? We both know I would not be alive if that was the case. He wants me to hang out here so you don’t invite your mystery man over. Oh, and might’ve said something about you being insanely happy…”
“I am insanely happy.” I love you is what you really want to say.
“And you can hang out here. As long as you don’t mind going for a swim. It’s so hot outside I can barely stand being in these clothes” You lower your voice when you say the last part.
Before he can respond with a typical suggestive comment, Steve comes back downstairs to say goodbye before heading to work.
“Alright, I gotta head out. I won’t be home until late. You staying home tonight?” He asks you
“Oh, I don’t know. Laura hasn’t asked me to stay with her yet”
“Well, she can stay here, ya know? Unless there’s another reason…”
“Nope, not at all. You better get going, you don’t wanna be late!”
Eddie tries to keep a straight face and Steve leaves without another word.
It feels like an eternity before he pulls out of the driveway
“Up for a swim?”
Eddie nods quickly.
_
You’re trying to decide which bathing suit you want to wear and Eddie waits patiently on your bed. He turned on music to entertain him knowing it takes you ages to make a decision, but he isn’t complaining. He loves your look of concentration.
“Wear the red one,” He suggest. “You look sexy in red. Or maybe we should just go naked”
He wiggles his eyebrows
“Yeah, you’d like that. But on a day like this, I’m betting either our friends or the kids show up unannounced to use the pool”
“Yeah that would be just our luck”
You begin to get undressed and Eddie looks around your room to avoid being so obvious.
“Eds, you can look. Nothin you haven’t seen before”
“Just trying to be respectful, sweetheart”
“Since when?”
He laughs and finally looks at you. He feels like the air has been knocked out of him.
“I have a feeling Laura is definitely going to ask you to spend the night. Something tells me she’s really gonna need you tonight”
“Well, lucky for her, I’m in the mood to be a very good friend tonight”
“Hmm maybe we could postpone our swim so you can be a good friend right now” He pats his lap for you to join him.
“Can’t I be a good friend in the pool?” You’re already walking over to him to straddle his lap
“Maybe you can be now and later… if you catch my drift”
“I always catch your drift. You aren’t exactly subtle”
“Shut up and kiss me. I’m dying here”
You oblige quickly.
While lost in the kiss, you suddenly become aware of the fact that you’re completely naked while Eddie is fully clothed.
Your hands fly to the hem of his shirt and you quickly remove it so you can get back to kissing him.
His hands move to gently massage your tits and you moan into his mouth then start to grind on him slowly, making him moan in response.
He’s hard against you and you come to the conclusion that you want to give him some relief as soon as possible.
You take your lips off of his and trail kisses down his jaw and neck. You move into a position that allows you to kiss down his chest and stomach until you reach his happy trail.
You begin to gently suck and kiss at his happy trail and his breathing gets heavier. Usually he’s the big teaser, but you wanted to flip the script.
Your hand palms him through his jeans and he groans. “Baby, please.”
“Please, what?”
“Lemme take my pants off. Busting in my jeans isn’t exactly on my agenda”
You choose to be nice and start to take his pants off. Apparently you aren’t doing it fast enough because he stands up and removes his pants and boxers.
No matter how many times you’ve seen his cock, it still makes you drool.
“Lemme suck you off. Please”
“On your knees, baby”
You swiftly move to your knees when Eddie sits on the edge of your bed.
He looks down at you and admires the way you’re staring at his dick
“Get to it, love. Wanna cum in that pretty mouth”
You spit in your palm and give him a few pumps before wrapping your lips around him
At first, you just focus on the tip and swirl your tongue. He tries to stop his hips from thrusting so he can go deeper.
“Don’t tease me, pretty girl. You wanna make me feel good, don’t you?”
You nod and take him deeper. He lets out a loud moan and you begin to bob your head a little faster.
“Fuck, that’s it. Always take my cock so well”
After a few more seconds, you pull back and he whines. “Want you to be rough, Eddie. Don’t hold back”
He smirks and gathers your hair in his fist. “Smack my leg twice if it's too much. Got it?”
“Got it”
“Stick your tongue out for me, baby”
You listen and he taps his cock on your tongue a few times before fully putting it back in your mouth.
He starts thrusting slowly to warm you up. You whine to let him know you want it faster.
His pace starts to pick up and he looks down at you to make sure you’re alright
Your eyes are closed and he feels his dominant side creeping up on him.
“Eyes on me or you won’t be cumming at all today”
You open your eyes and look up at him. Your eyes are watery and your pupils are blown wide.
Fuck, he can’t believe your his girl
Eddie starts to fuck your throat relentlessly and you moan around him. Your hands hold his thighs and you squeeze them hard. He worries it's too much for you. “You okay?”
Neither of you have broken eye contact and you give him a nod to keep going.
Tears are spilling from your eyes and you look so fucking pretty it should be illegal.
“I’m gonna cum in that fucking mouth and you’re not gonna waste a drop. Want you to swallow all of it”
His thrusts grow sloppy and you know he’s about to finish
Soon his warmth fills your mouth and you’re both moaning. He can’t believe how much this turns you on.
He pulls out of your mouth and you gasp for air.
“Not too rough, right?” He takes your hand to help you off your knees
“Not at all. I liked it, just need a minute”
He smiles and moves to sit against your headboard. You go back to straddling him.
You bury your head in the crook of his neck and his arms wrap around you.
The two of you sit in a comfortable silence for a couple of minutes.
“Teddy” You whisper in a sing-song voice. He always knows you’re feeling vulnerable when you call him Teddy. “Yeah?”
You pull back to look at him.
“Can I tell you something?”
“Anything”
“I, uh, know we haven’t been together that long, but I really need to get this off my chest”
He mentally prepares himself for what you’re gonna say
“I love you. So much that I feel like I’m gonna explode and I’m sorry if it’s too soon or something but I just can’t hold it in anymore”
“Too soon? Psh. Pretty sure I fell in love with you first day I met ya”
“Really?” You smile so wide it almost hurts
“Really. Steve was talking shit about my music and you said something like ‘Steve, you cry listening to time after time by cindy lauper. I don’t think you should be talking’ and I just knew I wanted to be yours”
You both laugh at the memory and bask in the feeling of being total lovesick idiots.
After a few moments of silence, you speak up.
“I’m ready, Eds. I want you. Can’t imagine it being anyone else”
“You sure? I don’t mind waiting”
“One hundred percent sure. Now show me what ya got, Munson”
“How romantic. Lay down for me”
Unbeknownst to you, Robin is currently downstairs looking for you to see if you’re up for a swim. Little does she know, Eddie is currently eating you out like it’s his job.
Between the music in your room and being so lost in the moment, neither of you hear the footsteps approaching your room.
Robin isn’t exactly familiar when it comes to having boundaries and she swings your door open without knocking and is met with the sight of Eddie between your legs.
Both of you abruptly turn your heads and all three of you are frozen.
Robin quickly turns around but doesn’t move. “Oh, I’m sorry it seems I’ve opened to door to an alternate fucking dimension where this makes sense” If this was under different circumstances, this sentence probably would’ve made you laugh.
Without another word, she frantically walks out of your room
“Robin, wait!” You call after her and put your robe on to follow her. Eddie also gets up and gets dressed to follow the both of you.
“Am I suffering from heat exhaustion? Does that cause hallucinations? I need to sit down”
Robin sits on the couch, looking a little bit traumatized from walking in on you and Eddie.
Eddie giggles and you lightly elbow him.
You don’t really know what to say. You always assumed you would tell Steve first and then everyone would find out in a completely different way.
“So…” Eddie starts
“What the fuck did I just walk in on? I’m seriously confused”
“Well, ya see, Robin, when two people love each other-”
“That’s not what I mean, Munson. I mean- wait. Did you just say love? Like in love? Can someone please start explaining I wasn’t joking about the being confused part!”
“Okay” You breathe out “Eddie and I have been seeing each other for the past couple of months and it’s been going really great so we didn’t wanna tell anyone because we were scared that things might get complicated, especially if Steve knew”
“Oh my god I didn’t even think about Steve. He is going to kill you!” She points at Eddie
“We know that’s why you can’t tell anybody” He responds
“This is huge, guys! I have to tell somebody that you two are hooking up I am incapable of keeping this to myself” She gets up and begins to pace
“Rob, please you have to keep it a secret. I know it’s big but I promise we’ll tell Steve soon so you don’t have to keep it a secret too long”
“We will?” Eddie asks
“Eventually, yeah. We sort of have to. What, are we not gonna invite him to the wedding?” You realize what you’ve just said and your eyes widen. “I mean, we aren’t getting married. I just, um, what I meant to say was-”
“You’re adorable, ya know that?” He smiles at you and you forget Robin’s having a total freakout for a moment.
“Before you two start doing it on the coffee table, I need to know the details because as your best friend, I am truly offended you kept this from me”
All three of you sit down and you and Eddie tell her all about your relationship, obviously sparing the dirty details. (She’s going to try to get them out of you later).
“Aw, so you guys are in love! This is so great, especially for you, Eddie. y/n is most definitely out of your league”
He doesn’t hesitate to agree.
“I guess I should go to let you guys…continue. By the way, both of you owe me. I’m talking personal chauffeurs and buying me pretty gifts. Deal?”
“Deal”
“I’d love a ride to the mall tomorrow” She says, walking to the door.
“Bye, Robin!”
“So, was that a mood ruiner for you or…” Eddie asks
You stand up and extend your hand out to him. “C’mon”
He takes your hand and you lead him back up to your bedroom.
Eddie unties your robe and you let it fall to the floor. His clothes are off seconds after you lie back down on the bed.
He hovers over you and his eyes bore into yours, making you feel safer than you’ve ever felt.
“I love you”
“I love you, more” Your hand cups his cheek
“Impossible” He kisses your wrist before leaning down to kiss you properly.
“Do you have any condoms?” He asks in a hushed tone
“Don’t need one. I’m on the pill”
He smiles and gives you a passionate kiss
Eddie grabs his cock and guides in through your slick folds. You gasp when it hits your clit.
“Are you ready?” He asks
“More than ready” you smile up at him.
“Tell me if anything hurts, kay?”
“Kay”
He starts by just putting the tip in and you both moan at the same time.
“More. I’m okay”
He slowly goes a little bit deeper and gives you time to adjust before he starts to move.
“Fuck, you feel so good. You’re so fucking wet”
“You’re so big. Feels so good inside me”
His pace picks up a little and you pull him down so he’s laying on top of you and you wrap your arms around him.
You didn’t expect this to feel as good as it does. After hearing stories from friends, you expected it to be completely uncomfortable and awkward, but you haven’t experienced either of those feelings.
“I’m not gonna last much longer” He pants
His hand slides between your bodies and he starts to rub your clit, making your back arch.
His middle and ring finger work faster on your sweet spot and you feel like you’re seeing stars
“Please don’t stop I’m so close, Eddie”
“Me too, baby. Cum with me. Need to feel you cum around my cock”
Both of your moans are getting louder and Eddie lets out a deep groan when he feels you walls clench around him.
You feel Eddie’s cum fill you up and it sends you over the edge.
Your nails are scratching his back and he collapses on top of you, kissing your neck as you work through your orgasm.
Both of you lay there in silence and you run your fingers through his hair and he hums in gratitude.
“I’ll be right back” He says before leaving your bedroom.
He returns with a glass of water and a warm rag to clean you up.
He starts to clean you up and you hiss a little at the contact, making him look up at you warily.
“Sensitive. I’m okay”
Once he’s done, he moves to hold you in his arms.
“How was that? Wasn’t painful or anything, was it?”
“It was perfect. I never imagined it being that good”
You can practically see his ego inflate, but he deserves it.
“Me neither. Best I’ve ever had”
You roll your eyes, but he means every word.
You take a nap before going to Eddie’s and spend the rest of the day wrapped up in each other, making each new time the best you’ll both ever have.
_
It’s been two weeks since Robin found out and she’s been loving making you and Eddie her personal servants.
Even if you didn’t do these things for her, she still wouldn’t spill your secret, but she can’t deny that she’s enjoying it.
The group is spending the day enjoying your pool and you wore your red bathing suit that Eddie loves so much.
It’s almost impossible for him to keep his hands off of you
“y/n, would you be a dear and get me a drink from inside please?” She smirks at you and you have no choice but to compel
“Anything for my queen” You say before heading inside.
“Ugh, can someone look at this freckle on my shoulder. Is it concerning looking?” Robin tries to get a good look at her freckle but can’t get the right angle, so Eddie helps her out.
“Oh, it looks fine. y/n has one like that on her hip”
Steve immediately whips his head towards Eddie and shoots daggers at him.
“What?” Steve says through gritted teeth
“What?” Eddie’s eyes widen when he realizes what he’s done.
“How in the world do you know she has a freckle on her hip?”
“Um, everyone knows. She talks about it all the time, duh”
“You’re dead, man.”
When you walk outside and see Steve chasing Eddie around the pool, you don’t think anything of it until you hear Steve yell “I’m gonna fucking kill you” and your stomach drops.
He knows
Robin notices you and looks like she has no idea what to do
“y/n, I have it on good authority that Steve knows about you and Eddie”
You hurriedly give Robin her drink and join in the wild goose chase around the pool
“Steve, stop! You’re overreacting”
He halts, suddenly. “Overreacting? You’ve gotta be kidding me. How long has this been going on?”
“About two and a half months” you answer
“Two and a half months?!”
“C’mon, Steve. Lets just talk this out” Eddie tries to level with him
“Great idea. I’ll go first” Steve starts “You, Eddie Munson, have been doing my little sister and you’ve both been lying about it. What, you were tired of no one wanting to fuck you so you took advantage of her?”
“Hey! I’m not gonna stand here and let you talk about him like that! I’m an adult, Steve, I can make my own decisions. he’s not taking advantage of me I can’t believe you’d even say something like that”
“Babe, it’s okay-”
“Babe? Seriously? I feel like I’m in the goddamn twilight zone! Did you know about this?” He turns to look at Robin
“I, um, might’ve had some idea, but only because I walked in on them doing it!”
“Robin!” you and Eddie shout at the same time and she apologizes.
“Well, that’s just great. So all three of you were lying? I can’t believe this. You know he’s gonna leave you once he gets bored because that's what guys do, y/n”
“No, Steve. That's what you do” You argue back
Before it gets any more heated, Eddie walks over to you. He wraps his arm around you, pulling you close to him.
“I know you’re mad, but we aren’t just hooking up. I love her. I can promise you I’m not leaving her”
You see Steve’s face soften once Eddie says this. He’s always been a bit of a romantic.
“You mean that? You guys are like, in love and shit?”
Eddie looks at you and smiles. “Yeah. In love and shit”
Steve’s mood shifts entirely, like he was never upset at all.
“Oh my god, that’s great! My best friend and my sister! Dude, we’re gonna be brother-in-laws”
“Okay, let’s slow down” You say, not wanting to scare Eddie off and you’re also extremely surprised at his sudden reaction shift.
“Oh, c’mon babe, we are so gonna be brother-in-laws” He leans down to pull you into a kiss
“Alright, gross. I don’t need visuals of you two, I’m still having nightmares about the hickey I saw on your neck a while ago”
You hide your face, embarrassed.
“I desperately need a beer after that. Robin, help me grab drinks for everyone” Steve and Robin disappear, leaving you and Eddie alone.
“So, cats outta the bag” You wrap your arms around Eddie’s torso and his hands fall to your hips.
“Dustin’s gonna be so pumped. He’s been waiting on me to make my move on you forever”
“That’s what you’re thinking about right now? Dustin?” You both laugh
“Sorry, the little dude’s just got a way about him. It’s kinda freaky”
You move your arms to drape around his neck and look into his eyes.
He leans down to kiss you because that’s something you can do now without fear of getting caught.
“I love that I can do that whenever and wherever now”
“Hmm, think Steve will still have a problem with that”
“Who cares? Don’t know if you heard but he’s gonna be my brother-in-law”
“Think we can sneak off to my room?”
“Oh, yeah. We’re super sneaky”
Steve and Robin don’t say a word when they catch you and Eddie sneaking through your bedroom window.
Turns out neither of you are as sneaky as you think.

Let’s be honest. You were always into Billy Hargrove. The first time you noticed him was when you were babysitting for Max Mayfield.
Your friends always ran around with his friends and your friends were always fanning themselves when he walked past in the hallway. He was an asshole, but his ass was nice when he walked away. You didn’t embarrass yourself like your friends did.
It was a fact he was hot. You thought Eddie Munson was too. It didn’t mean anything, it’s just you thought he was.
The first time you actually talked to him was in the kitchen of their house, you swallowed, “So, sorry, excuse me.” You went to move past him.
“Y/N Harrington?” He chuckled, turning on his heel following you.
You hummed gently, “Hi.”
“Looking for me?” He grinned tilting his head, a cigarette between his lips.
“You wish, Hargrove.” You rolled your eyes, “I’m not one of your fangirls.”
He rose his eyebrows in interest, your moment was interrupted by a redhead walking in, “Ready, Y/N/N?” She looked at you with wide eyes before she turned to her step-brother, “oh, hey, Billy.”
“Hey, Max.” You walked towards the front door. Max said bye to Billy. Once Max exited, he winked at you. You have a gentle smile before closing the door behind you.
Billy was planning on ruining you.
You planned on taking Max to the arcade, you liked her younger group of friends anyway. Sad, you were hanging out with middle schoolers. Not like you cared, they were more real then your friend group between the walls of Hawkins High. A wretched place.
Max smirked at you, which you saw out of the corner of your eye, “Billy has never been that nice to anyone.”
“Really? I’m not surprised.” Your eyebrows rose, never taking your eyes off the road.
“It was like something kicked into him or something, just by the way he looked at you?”
“Like what? A piece of meat to a hungry dog? It’s how teenage boys like Billy Hargrove look at girls. They can’t control their dick in their pants.”
You glanced at her before looking back to the road.
“It was different then the usual ‘one night stand’ look. It was more of something I want a guy to look at me that one day.”
“Look, I’ve been in high school the last three years and I’ve never had a boyfriend. It’s ok, no matter the wait.”
You parked the car and hopped out, walking towards the front door. “No way! There’s no way you haven’t had a boyfriend? I mean.. I mean look at you.”
“Thank you, Max. I’ve been on dates, none of them were my type. Too preppy, too much like me. I need some kind of danger to my set-out life.”
Max nodded and you two didn’t speak of the subject much more when she saw her friends at the arcade. Dustin Henderson showed you how to destroy at Pac-Man.
The next time was when you went out with your brother’s friends. It was a loud party, that’s for sure. You always attended these things because your brother loved them.
Steve was off with his girlfriend, Nancy Wheeler. You felt bad, noticing Nancy was acting odder and odder. You conversed with Robin Buckley, a peer who you partnered with projects a lot.
After she went off to her friends, you stayed in the corner playing with an alcoholic drink. You caught Jason Carver’s eye standing there, just apparently looking so desperate for a man.
“Hi there, Doll.” He smirked, leaning against the wall adjacent to you.
“Hi, Jason.” You nodded, curtly. Your mother taught you well about manners, a pretty girl with a pretty attitude. Your brother taught you to fight fierce, with claws.
“You looked lonely.”
“Did I? That’s unpleasant.” You frowned. He was thicker than your brothers hair, you realized, when he didn’t get your sarcastic comment.
“Maybe, we could head back up to my room? Ditch the party…” he was in front of you now. His fingers trailing down your jawline down to the spaghetti strap of your top. “..ditch the clothes.” He pulled the strap letting it pop against your skin. You tried leaning away from his touch, but it didn’t work.
You prayed Steve would notice this. If he was even around. You didn’t know Nancy was telling him their relationship was bullshit.
You were a big girl, you could get out of this situation politely. You put your hands on his chest, pushing his back. “Sorry, Jason. I don’t want my brother skin you.”
Yes you do. Anyway.
“Come on, Darling. You know I’ve been crushing on you for awhile.”
“How sweet, tell me when you’re sober, Jason.” You tried walking away, he latched his hand around your wrist.
“Just one night?”
“Look, Jason, I said-“
“She said no, now get your hands off you before I rip them off you.” Billy Hargrove, knight in leather jacket to your rescue.
Jason, who practically kneeled before Billy let go of you. “Sorry, Y/N.”
You frowned. Jason would only apologize because you had a man behind you. Jason stalked off and you turned to Billy.
You let out a breath of air, “Thank you.”
“Course, Y/N. You were minding your own business and he had the nerve. I’m just glad, Harrington didn’t see this scene. As much as I would love for your brother to lose another fight, you are worth winning.”
You giggled and he grinned. Your laugh was so pretty.
“Do you want to leave this place? Not quite my scene? We can grab a bottle of tequila here and then find a secluded spot?”
“Are you trying to get in my pants, Hargrove?” You rose a brow, and he gave a cheeky grin.
“If you want me to be.” You rolled your eyes shoving him in the chest.
“Come on, Lover Boy.” You were walking towards his car.
As Billy drove, you leaned back in the seat, enjoying the wind from the open window. Billy had a cigarette hanging from his lips, speeding through the back roads. You leaned forward, grabbing his cigarette, putting it between your lips taking a long drag.
His jaw clenched and his pants tightened. You were so hot.
He chuckled pulling over to a grassy hill, putting the car in park. “I didn’t know the Harrington sister would smoke?”
“I do a lot of things that’d disgrace the Harrington name.”
He smirked to himself taking the cigarette back.
That night you really got to know Billy. You two were talking until sunrise and you turned out to really like who he was. He dropped you off at your house and you pecked his cheek before walking inside to the Harrington residence.
You might be the death of him.
Billy Hargrove found you in crowds easier. He’d wink and you’d roll your eyes when your friends fought over who he winked at.
Max wanted to have a movie night when you were babysitting her and her friends came over. They didn’t even think of you as a babysitter but more of a friend.
Billy walked in asking if he could join. Max said sure and shot you a look when he sat next to you on the couch.
Billy whispered dirty jokes, you swatted him in the chest. “There’s kids!” Even through your scolding you couldn’t find the blush in your cheeks.
He shrugged with a knowing grin.
Billy even asked Tommy and Carol about you. They were surprised in his interest about you. That’s when those two started showing up at your locker, sweet-talking you.
Your friends had wanted to go to the theaters and you agreed. Billy was there, when you got bored. You and him left the showing room hiding in the bathroom, giggling like school girls.
“Oh billy! You’re so strong, carrying that popcorn.” You mimicked one your friends which had said that.
Billy chuckled, “Jealous?”
You paused.
His smirk grew wider. He asked if you wanted to go on one of your drives where you guys would share a cigarette. Tonight, in that grassy lot, Billy and you were in the backseat making out. He hands were exploring your body. Your tongues fighting in the kiss.
You pulled back, you two sharing idiotic smiles. Billy had his mouth open, his tongue out. You flicked your gaze from his to the tongue back to his. You took your chance and licked up his tongue.
That’s about how far you went that night. Though there were more nights that led to more.
After a party, Billy was trying to keep his eyes on the road, but he couldn’t for the whole time. Not with you leaning your head out the window, your hair catching the wind.
Giggling you pulled back in, his cigarette in your lips. You took a drag settling back in.
“How far is our spot?”
“Ten minutes, why?” You smirked leaning back of the console to Billy to let him take a drag. While you were close enough, you whispered.
“I’m not wearing panties under this dress, y’know? Maybe I can get started.” His hands tightened thinking about how your dress hardly fell over the curve of your ass and you had no panties.
Trying to recover, he smirked, “Naughty girl, Harrington.”
“Very.” You agreed leaning back against the headrest. Your hand traveling down to your cunt, swiping up your arousal. You showed him your sticky fingers. “Look, Billy,” you cooed. “Already. Just for you.”
“Fuck, Y/N.”
You smiled, placing your fingers in your mouth, moaning at the taste. “If only if you could taste it right now.”
You took your fingers toying with your clit, you put two fingers into you, thrusting them in and out. Your moans causing Billy to press the gas pedal harder. “Oh, Billy!” You cried, imagining it was his dick thrusting into you.
Your fingers sped up, Billy groaned at you moaning for him. “Do not cum yet, Y/N.”
You pulled your fingers out, sticking them in his mouth to let him suck on your taste. “Sir, yes sir.”
Billy pulled into your spot unbuckling you both pulling you out of the vehicle. Setting you on his hood , hiking your dress up.
“Fuck, you’re so pretty, baby.” He murmured kissing down your sternum. “But such a slut for fingering yourself in front of me. Did you wish it was my dick in that cunt? Do you want my fingers in you?” You whined.
“Words.”
“Yes, dammit, Billy. Fuck me or I’ll fuck myself.” He chuckled, squatting down, eye level with your cunt. He pulled your legs forward closer. You laid out on the hood of his blue car. He swirled his tongue in your cunt lapping like a hungry man.
You screamed in the hills, crying his name out. “Billy, billy, fuck, billy.” You cried, grabbing his hair trying to get as much friction as possible.
“I’m almost there, shit.” He added two fingers.
“Come on baby, cum in my mouth.” His words sent you over the edge into your high, his tongue fucking you. You were exhausted coming off of it, but you wanted more.
You unzipped him, palming him in his boxers, he groaned. “Fuck, sweetheart.” You pulled down the boxers. You hopped off the car, getting on your knees.
You licked the pre-cum, “Oh, baby.”
You took him in his mouth, moving up and down bobbing. He groaned feral-like, tossing his head back.
His fingers grabbed your hair making you take him whole, you gagged but then you were able to bob on him again.
“Almost there. I want you to swallow it.” You licked up the shaft before taking him in your mouth again. You hollowed your cheeks moving faster. He came with a loud moan, you swallowed his cum.
The next time you were at the grassy hill. You didn’t leave the car, back in the backseat. Billy was sitting up and you were riding him.
You bounced up and down, panting and sweating. You thrusting him into you, continually hitting your sweet spot. “So good, taking all of me. Aren’t you?”
You were cockdrunk, dumbly nodding trying you best to please him.”
You rolled your hips before back to bouncing. Billy took a drag in your face and you whimpered.
“Want a drag? Here, baby.” He held the cigarette to your lips and you took a drag. You leaned down making marks on him.
“Everyone better fucking know that you belong to me. Even my fucking friends.” He grinned beginning to make marks on your neck.
“I am yours and you are mine.”
“Always.”
You came and he released shortly after. You fell asleep in his arms that night.
You and Billy weren’t official but you didn’t know what you were. Max smirked at the love bites on your neck. “Billy has matching ones?”
You blushed avoiding the questions.
Billy rang your doorbell with flowers, but you didn’t answer. Steve did.
“Steve Harrington, hey.”
Steve was confused, “You need something?”
“I’m here to ask your sister to be my girlfriend. These are for your mom, but do I have your blessing? I’m still going to ask her if you give it or not.”
“I figured, but I don’t care. Y/n!”
“What the fuck do you want Steve?”
“Your man is here.” They both heard running down the stairs,
“Hi.” You whispered breathlessly.” Billy handed the brother the flowers and Steve sighed getting a vase with water putting the bouquet in the vase.
Billy kissed you, “I figured I needed to do this right? Want to be mine, officially?” You giggled kissing him.
“Yes, my knight in a leather jacket.”

walk beside me, i feel you slipping away
eddie munson x female!reader
wc: 2.4k
warnings: henderson!reader, established relationship, worried girlfriend mode, secret relationship, idiots in love, smidge of angst
an: is another piece from my ao3 that's been sitting around forever. i re-read it today and thought "tumblr needs to see this"
summary: your stupid boyfriend has gone and gotten himself stuck in another dimension with a menagerie of blood-thirsty killers and no amount of knowledge of his little board game is going to help keep him alive. has it always been this hard to breath?
Late March, you wondered, it should still be cold now shouldn’t it?
The balmy wind closing around the bare strip of skin at your ankles begged otherwise. You toyed with the idea that maybe the Upside Down had an effect on the weather in Hawkins.
"Are you even listening!" Claudia Henderson’s voice cut through your moronic ideas on how other worldly demons affected the climate - it was desperate and thick with worry.
Your eyes snapped from where they'd fixated on a yellow lawn chair two houses over. Her face was shrouded in panic and your heart wrenched at the sight of her, if only she knew how much trouble they were truly in.
"Mom, I'm listening—" Liar. "I told you, they wanted to go take a look but I didn't want them to on their own, so I went with."
The chatter from inside was vibrating against the walls and the lights of the police cruiser still parked in the driveway flashed blue and red against the side of your mom's face.
"You let them go to the sight of a murder!" Claudia ran a shaky hand over her perfectly matted curls. "And— And this Eddie character? The police are saying that Dusty is a member of his satanic cult—"
You couldn't help the roll of your eyes. "Mom, it's not a cult."
The image was sharp in your mind, as if you were still standing at the edge of the water staring down at the dinghy.
Robin and Nancy were carefully squatted down near the front and Steve was steadying the boat from the shore.
Max, Lucas and your brother were lingering behind you, he was still sulking at being told he wouldn’t be joining the venture into the depths of the lake.
"Hey," Eddie's eyes pierced yours from where he was balanced up on the boat, he held a hand out for you to take - to step into the boat. Even in the darkness of the woods you'd felt the warmth of his gaze.
You'd glanced between him and the kids behind you, shaking your head. "I should ... I need to stay with them. Somebody has to."
Eddie had recoiled in surprise before leveling you with a panicked expression, "You don't have to, Steve is gonna stay with—"
You'd given him a wary glance, his response bordering on too suspicious for someone who wasn't supposed to know you that well.
"Eddie, it's fine. You guys go."
The boat had floated just a few feet before you'd called to them.
"Don't do anything stupid!" Your eyes locked with Eddie's who was perched at the back with the engine, "Please."
If Dustin had noticed anything, he hadn't said - and that offered at least small solace.
You and Eddie’s relationship was coming up on six months, yet somehow the pair of you had never really found the perfect moment to break it to your little brother that you were dating the captain of his little club and absolute teen idol. Or maybe you’d just gotten really good at avoiding the conversation.
As fate would have it, the three of you were thrown together to fight yet another monstrosity plaguing Hawkins - and while it was awkward - it didn’t happen to be the most pressing issue at hand.
"They have photos of Dusty wearing that club T-shirt—"
Claudia’s words were cut straight through by the slam of the screen door against the back wall and the parade of teenagers busting through it. Dustin raced towards you, gripping you by the arm and shoving the keys to your run-down station wagon into your palm: "We gotta go!"
It was pure instinct that drove your feet to kick off the ground after the four teenagers sprinting towards the end of the road. You didn't need to look back to know that a similar group of parents had to be trailing.
Your car was parked down the street, the faded red doors opening on every side as the kids clambered in and you threw yourself into the driver's seat simultaneously thrusting the keys into the ignition.
In your side mirror you watched your mother, Lucas and Mike's parents nearing the car. It took an exhausted groan from the engine before the car came alive, roaring down the street.
"Sorry mom!" You and Dustin yelled simultaneously out the window at your forlorn mother.
Only once they'd disappeared into tiny specks in your review could you turn to Dustin and his friends. "Where are we going?"
"Eddie's trailer." Lucas responded from the backseat.
Your stomach twisted and you turned to Dustin in the passenger seat, "Why are we going to Eddie's?"
Dustin gave a heavy sigh, "We think there's another gate there. The others went through Watergate and they're trapped in the Upside Down."
The car spluttered as it stalled loudly, your grip around the wheel loosening and your focus on driving the car deteriorating to almost none.
"W-What?" You were sure your face had turned a ghostly white and your heart had sunk down into the base of your stomach.
"Steve, Nancy, Robin and Eddie. They're down there!" Dustin clarified, watching you, both exasperated and confused at your behavior.
You could feel the stares of the teens heating up the back of your neck.
"A-Are they okay?" You stuttered, trying not to give away the terror gripping your throat.
"They're fine." It was Erica's turn, "Are you okay?"
You nodded wordlessly, turning your attention back to the steering wheel and restarting the car which had stalled all the way to a stop in the middle of the road less than two streets down from the Sinclair residence.
"Turn left here—"
"I know the way." You were so lost in your whirring thoughts that you hadn't bothered to worry about how that sounded.
There was a short confused silence before Dustin burst back into theories about the gates and Vecna's plan which before you might have made the effort to follow, but not right then.
Right then your stupid boyfriend had gone and gotten himself stuck in another dimension with a menagerie of blood-thirsty killers and no amount of knowledge of his little board game is going to help keep him alive.
Your heart thrummed against your chest with such force you were sure the rest of the car could hear it. If they could, they didn't mention it.
Picking up Dustin from his Hellfire Club meetings had been tedious, you generally arrived late when you worked closing shift at the diner: something you always melted with guilt over when you found him sitting on the curb outside the school with a tired look on his face.
Dustin was never alone though. On the curb next to him - leaning on his palms with his hair thrown back like Jon Bon Jovi - was always Eddie Munson.
Looking back, you were sure you'd loved him from the first fucking second he'd met your eyes. When he'd waltzed over to your window, leaning casually on it as Dustin climbed into the passenger seat.
"So this must be the other famous Henderson. Seems all the good looks were used up when it came to your turn, hey dweeb?"
Dustin had turned pink, you remember. "Don't hit on my sister, Eddie."
Parked under the afternoon sun in the school parking lot, it almost felt worlds away now. It wasn't long after that Eddie began to frequent your diner, somehow always managing to come in during your shifts - you only later found out that he'd bribed the busboy ten dollars to tell him what days you worked. Eddie would come in, flirt incessantly and order a chocolate milkshake. He came in every shift for two weeks before eventually asking:
"Do you wanna go out sometime?" You remember that dazzling grin, tilted down on the edges only by nervousness. "I know this really great diner we can go to, and the waitresses are really beautiful."
That was the beginning of the end. Your heart clenched tightly in your chest and another wave of nausea rushed over you when the image of Eddie stuck in the inky darkness of the Upside Down flashed across your mind again.
You thought then about how you never reminded him that you loved him before he climbed on that wretched little boat.
If Eddie died, you were going to kill him.
The trailer came into view of the car's headlights and you pulled to a park in front. None of the kids asked how you knew the way, but the question was plastered all over their faces.
You pretended you didn't notice and moved out the car.
The door was locked, but it only took a hard kick for the locks to buckle and the door to swing noisily open.
Someone gasped behind you, all five pairs of eyes staring up at the throbbing red opening in the middle of the living room ceiling.
"I told you ..." Dustin's voice trailed off in amazement.
Erica huffed loudly before striding into the kitchen where a broom was leaning against the counter. She grabbed it, "We should see whether it actually opens."
Dustin took the broom before lifting it to the hole. He prodded and thick red goo dripped from it onto the floor in front of them. Your face twisted in disgust and you heard Max mutter "ew" beside you.
It didn't take much nudging before the gate was a gaping hole in the ceiling. Everyone stepped beneath it to look up: on the other side you could see Steve, Nancy, Robin and Eddie.
The tightness in your chest eased only marginally and you sighed softly. He was smiling up at you.
"Are you guys okay?" You called and could hear the faint echoes of response.
"Yeah, we're okay!" Robin.
Dustin gathered a rope and you helped move Eddie's mattress just below the portal. Max's nose crinkled in disgust, motioning towards the stains littering the mattress and your cheeks grew hot, plagued by the knowledge of where more than a handful of the aforementioned stains had originated from. You avoided her eyes.
Robin was the first one through, she offered you a lopsided smile. Before she'd even stood straight up, you'd scooped her into your arms. "You guys just live to stress me out, you know that?"
She grinned over your shoulder, "Our life's purpose."
There was another thud of a second body hitting the mattress and warm relief flooded your veins when you turned to find your boyfriend beaming up at you. "That was fun."
He jumped up to his feet in front of you and had barely been offered the chance to straighten out when your hands shoved violently at his chest.
Eddie almost tumbled back down onto the mattress, then only really noticing the infuriated look on your face.
"You stupid—" Each word punctuated by another shove at the Hellfire Club logo splashed across his chest, "—idiot!"
His rings were cool when his hands closed over your wrists, "Princess, listen—"
"Eddie you could have been killed down there, by Vecna or the Mind Flayer or... or..." Your brain struggled for words and you only half registered the sound of your brothers confused question ("princess?") from somewhere behind you.
Suddenly it had grown harder to swallow around the growing lump in your throat, and in all honesty you couldn't tell whether you were more upset that he'd gone or more relieved that he had returned - his warm, apologetic eyes sinking into your own.
"Baby, baby," You'd stopped hitting him, his grasp sliding from your arms to your waist. "I'm fine, okay? We're all fine."
Your hands were shaking from the drawn out stress of the car ride over and the two tears that had been threatening to spill finally chased down your cheeks quietly.
"I'd wipe your tears..." Eddie was speaking quietly now, tucking a neat little cheeky grin into the corner of his mouth: "but my hands are covered in evil bat blood and I couldn't live with myself if I dirtied your pretty face."
You were halfway to scolding his impudence when Dustin beat you to the chase: "Can someone tell me what the fuck is going on!"
Like you'd both licked the end of a live wire, you and Eddie jolted back a foot, hands diving to your respective pockets.
"Isn't it obvious," Erica's voice was nonchalant and matter-of-fact, "they're dating."
Dustin's eyes widened, flickering between you and his beloved captain of the Hellfire Club. "No, they're not."
His voice dripped in uncertainty. You and Eddie didn't look at each other.
Dustin said your name into the awkward silence that had settled over the room, Robin was stifling down a giggle behind Max and Lucas. Thanks Robs.
"Tell Erica she's wrong." He pressed, but only weakly: like the reality had dawned on him. Like the puzzle pieces were sliding slowly into place.
Eddie was first to speak, "Look, buddy, there was never a great time to tell y—"
"Called it!" Erica's voice piped up triumphantly.
"You're dating my sister?" The volume in Dustin's voice had climbed significant decibels, "And you never told me!"
The giggle that escaped you was unintentional and you tried to choke it down under your words, "Dusty—"
"This isn't funny!" With each step you took forward, he took back.
Eventually you managed to manhandle him into a hug, "Dusty, I'm sorry. I'm sorry..."
Dustin didn't hug you back, but he didn't fight the arms around him. "I'm never forgiving you for this. Either of you."
You cut him loose and he glared a warm hole into your back as you retreated to the safety of Eddie's arms. Your forehead found solace at the cool leather against his collar bone. "If you ever abandon me to do something stupid like that again I'm breaking up with you."
"Well, I really don’t want that." His ring studded knuckle found your chin and turned your face towards his. Eddie's lips pressed gently against yours, holding it only for a few seconds before pulling back to pull you closer against his chest. "I'm sorry, princess."
Dustin's gagging noises were obnoxiously loud and Max muttered a quiet "ew" at the same time Lucas whispered a soft "aw".
"Oh shut up." You flipped the bird to your brother across the room. "It's not like you've never kissed your girlfriend before."
It suddenly occurred to you that his girlfriend lived halfway across the country, and he very well might have never kissed her.
You shrugged it off.
"Nancy! Nancy!"
All eyes turned up to the gate, beside you Eddie's fingers curled against yours. He squeezed your hand. "Here we go again."

part 2 of this like a year later
The three of them settle into a booth, Steve sitting across from his boyfriend and watching with a small smirk at how the two siblings fight — Max demanding elbow room by shoving her elbows across the width of the table while Billy shoves at her to move over, the two of them glaring at each other.
Steve doesn’t understand it; the dynamics of siblinghood are foreign, almost alien, to him but he still takes enjoyment in having a front-row seat.
Once their food arrives, Steve sits quietly and eats, chewing on a couple fries as he watches Billy watch Max — his boyfriend’s blue eyes focused on the girl’s burger and fries.
“You’re not gonna eat all of that,” Billy mutters as he takes a sip of his Coke, quirking a brow when Max turns her pinched face to him.
“Yes, I am!” She argues, stuffing a few more fries into her mouth, as if to prove it.
It’s kind of funny, the way Billy lays claim to Max’s food and how that claim makes Max burn with anger and spite.
Maybe dumbly, he asks, “Why don’t you two share?”
They pause mid-chew and stare at Steve like he’s grown a second head before looking at each other and laughing.
“Fuck sharing,” Billy hums as he picks up his burger, “I know the shitbird isn’t gonna finish her food — she never does.”
“Well, I’m gonna now, since you said I won’t,” Max argues again with a little drawl, also picking up her burger, copying her brother as they each take a bite.
Steve can’t help but wonder, “Is there anything you two share?”
“A house,” the siblings answer in unison.
Figures.
“Listen, princess, you’re an only child — just like we were, before we were forced to live together. You try getting a sibling after all this time and tell me just how much you like to share.”
Steve blinks and says, “I’ve always wanted a sibling, though.”
“Then you can have her,” Billy smirks and motions to Max with a tilt of his head.
The redhead frowns at them both, “What makes either of you think I want a brother?”
“You’re telling me you’d rather have a sister?” Billy asks her with a hint of disbelief, quirking a brow, “A sister wouldn’t beat Jacob in ninth grade’s ass for you, now would she?”
“Maybe she would,” Max pouts as she pulls the tomato out of her burger and drops it onto the paper lining her basket, “You don’t know.”
“I know enough,” Billy argues, looking at Steve across the table as he takes another sip.
Steve gives him a smile before furrowing his brows a little, asking quietly, “Did you really beat up that little kid?”
Billy winks at him as he sets his cup down, saying nothing, so Steve rolls his eyes. Of course.
“Here,” Max huffs in defeat a few minutes later, sliding her unfinished food over to a still-hungry Billy, who smiles in triumph.
“Knew it,” Billy chuckles as Max punches his arm and crosses her arms over her chest in annoyance.
Later, when he’s cuddling his boyfriend in his bed, Billy admits with a murmur that he didn’t actually beat up that Jacob kid, he only threatened him. Told him to stay away from his sister.
Because no one bothers Max except him.
And in that moment, Steve understands siblinghood a little bit better.

panic
summary: you and steve find jason and his friends outside your house, looking for dustin...
pairing: steve harrington x henderson!sister reader
title 🎵: panic by the smiths
Tumblr media
It’s happening again. There’s been some mysterious deaths in Hawkins over the last couple of days. The police think that your little brother’s friend, Eddie Munson, is the murderer. But he’s not. In reality, the thing responsible for these deaths is an evil entity from the Upside Down named Vecna.
You can’t go to the police with the truth. Now that Hopper is gone, you have no allies left in the Hawkins Police Department. They would never believe you…so you, Steve, Dustin, Robin, Max, Nancy and Lucas have teamed up to stop Vecna yourselves.
While the others lay low and regroup at Nancy’s place, you and Steve go on a quick supply run to your house. You’re picking up extra walkie talkies, batteries, some snacks, and anything else that might be useful. Your mom is out at work during this time, which means that you’ll be able to get in and out quickly without raising any questions.
You and Steve take his car to your house. As Steve pulls up your driveway, you notice another car parked in your mom’s designated spot. You have no idea who that car belongs to.
“What the hell?” you raise your eyebrows.
Then you see Jason Carver banging loudly on the front door. His two jock friends, Patrick and Andy, are looking inside your home. They’re holding a wrench and a baseball bat. Your eyes widen. Whatever these guys are doing here, it can’t be good…
Steve parks his car alongside Jason’s and you both get out.
“HEY!” you shout to get the jocks’ attention.
You walk towards Jason to confront him. Steve stays by your side.
“What are you doing at my house?”
Jason puts his hands up in defense.
“Hey, Y/N. Relax! We’re not here to cause any trouble,” he smiles, putting on the charm offensive.
Steve nods to Patrick and Andy.
“Then why do they have weapons?” your boyfriend questions Jason.
“We’re looking for Eddie Munson-” Jason begins, before you cut him off.
“Well, you got the wrong house! He isn’t here,” you shake your head.
“I know that freak isn’t here,” Jason sighs, and then, “We heard your little brother Dustin was looking for him too. We just wanna talk to him… to see if he found Eddie.”
You shrug, trying your best not to react. You know where Eddie and Dustin are but you can’t let anything slip or they might get hurt.
“You just wanna talk?” you raise your eyebrows, suspicious.
“Yeah, a little friendly neighborhood chat,” Andy snickers.
You take a deep breath. You don’t trust these guys at all and you’re worried they will hurt Dustin. As Dustin’s big sister, you can’t let anything happen to him. You’re still trying to figure out how to respond when-
“We haven’t seen him,” Steve says in a low, serious voice.
You give Steve an appreciative look. He’s just as protective of your little brother as you are. That’s one of the many things you love about Steve.
“Y/N?” Jason nods to you.
“I don’t know where Dustin is,” you tell Jason.
Jason shakes his head. He’s not convinced. He believes you and Steve know more than what you’re letting on.
“Look, we’re not killers like Eddie! We just wanna find him and get him to admit his crime. Dustin could help us catch a murderer,” Jason tries, as he begins to slowly approach you.
You cross your arms against your chest, standing your ground. Steve keeps his eyes on Jason, making sure he doesn’t make a move against you.
“Dustin can’t help you. He barely knows Eddie. And I don’t know who told you that Dustin was looking for Eddie, but they were wrong,” you lie.
Jason looks you up and down and then takes another step towards you, standing uncomfortably close.
“You know where your brother is don’t you, Y/N? What do you have to hide?”
Your boyfriend suddenly steps in between you and Jason.
“You heard what she said. We don’t know where Dustin is. Now you need to leave,” Steve warns Jason.
“C’mon, Steve!” Jason shrugs, frustrated.
Steve shakes his head.
“Get out of here,” he coolly replies.
Jason and Steve stare each other down. You can cut the tension with a knife. After a super tense moment, Jason backs off.
“Let’s go,” he nods to the other jocks.
Jason, Andy and Patrick leave. You and Steve can hear them talk as they walk towards Jason’s car.
“So, now what?” Patrick asks.
“We keep looking. The town’s not that big. Only so many places these freaks can burrow,” Jason answers through gritted teeth.
Your eyes widen. You meet Steve’s gaze and exchange knowing looks. This could be trouble. You need to warn your little brother fast before something bad happens.

Stuck Between a Jock and a Metalhead
Summary: Nancy, on a whim, decides to visit Steve at Scoops Ahoy, which leads to her overhearing confessions from Steve that leads her to think about the decisions she's made. A few days later, she decides to come back. She finds him being hit on by the town freak. What's a girl to do? Oh, get stuck in a freezer with the both of them.
@nightmareglitter
Warning: Very Anti Billy Hargrove. Lucas talks about his feelings on the subject like he deserves, too. Angst all around as the kids talk about their feelings.

Chapter Fourteen
Nancy paced in front of her boyfriends and Robin nervously. The piles of notebooks on the table seemed to be staring at her. They all stood in Steve's mostly clean apartment. There was still a lot of work that needed to be done, like getting a new AC unit and appliances for the kitchen as well as new furniture. In order to do all that, Steve needed a new job. He was managing to cover most of it with the compensation money, but most of it was going towards the furniture. Steve was going to have pay for the AC unit and things for the salon downstairs, which meant getting a job, something he was looking for with Robin.
"Whatcha thinking about, Nancy?" Eddie asked.
"Steve," Nancy replied.
"Aww. Me too. He is looking particularly handsome today," Eddie cooed at him. "Look at those pretty pink lips. I think somebody put on their lip gloss today. Our boyfriend is insanely hot. Stop it, Steven. Distracting Nancy like that. Can't you see she's trying to think?"
"I'm sorry. Next time, I'll put a bag over my head," Steve said sarcastically.
"Well, that's a bit dramatic, but now you're thinking ahead, baby," Eddie said.
"No," Nancy laughed. "I was trying to stop myself from overthinking this whole thing with the kids, so I started thinking about the things that need to get done around here."
"Did it help?" Robin asked.
"I don't think so. Do you think we're doing the right thing here? What if they hate us?" Nancy asked.
"I think what they're going to see is us trying our best to help them get through this," Steve said. "They're probably going to be little assholes about it at first, but they'll come to their senses."
"I hope you're right," Nancy said.
"You're doing the right thing, Nancy," Eddie said. "These kids need people to talk to."
Before they could say anything else, they heard the sounds of footsteps, and then there was a knock on the door. Nancy opened it, and one by one, the kids came in. The only one who was missing was Max.
"No Max?" Nancy asked Lucas.
"Uh, Billy's dad skipped down, so she's helping her mother pack up," Lucas said. "They're moving to Forest Hills."
"That is where we live," El said and smiled before frowning.
"Yeah, kiddo," Eddie said. "Don't feel bad about being excited about seeing your friend more. You're allowed to be happy."
"Okay," El said softly.
"It's going to be right across from you guys. Your uncle is helping them," Lucas said and paused. "Even if that wasn't the case, I'm not sure Max wants to see any of us right now."
"That's understandable," Nancy said.
"Why have thoust summoned a council meeting, milady?" Dustin asked.
"I can see why he's your favorite," Nancy heard Eddie whisper to Steve.
"I thought we should touch base and see how everyone is holding up. We went through a lot of shit recently, and I know it hasn't been easy for me. I just wanted to let everyone know that we're here for you if you need to talk about anything. This is a safe space," Nancy said.
"I'm fine," Mike shrugged.
"You're fine?!" Eddie asked, his eyebrows raised. "Nancy, I think your brother might be a psychopath. I am so sorry you had to find out like this."
"Okay, you don't have to talk about it, but there's no way you came out of it fine," Nancy said, rolling her eyes and ignoring her boyfriend.
"Okay, I don't want to talk about it," Mike said.
"That's okay. Like I said, no one has to talk. We're going to talk, and if someone wants to speak up afterward, then that's okay too," Nancy said.
"I'll go first," Steve said.
"Are you sure?" Nancy asked.
"Yeah," Steve said. "You know, most of the time, I can't sleep now. It was bad before, but never this bad. I lay awake, wondering if the Russians are going to break into my house and come for me or if they're going to come for Dustin and Robin. . . Just everyone I care about. And when I can't go back to sleep from the most God awful nightmare, I go out in my car and drive down everyone's street, just to make sure you guys are safe. And the nightmares. . . I dream that they come for me, and they take me away to a dark place where they take me apart piece by piece. Sometimes, it's the Russians. Sometimes, it's a demogorgon, and sometimes, it's my parents. When I wake up, I have to go out and make sure we're all still here."
"Holy shit, Steve," Eddie muttered and placed a comforting hand on his back, leaning heavily against him.
"I don't know how to make it all better except when I see all of you guys again, and I know you're safe," Steve said. "I know I complain a lot about doing things for you guys, but the truth is I love doing them. You're my family, and my biggest fear is that something will happen to you. I can't let that happen," Steve said.
Dustin suddenly threw himself into Steve’s arms, hugging him tightly.
"It's my fault you got hurt, Steve," Dustin said, sniffling. "I should have left the Russian transmission alone, and you wouldn't have gone down there."
"That's dumb, I made my own choice to go down there, and if we hadn't gone down there, then the others wouldn't have known where to go to shut off the machines," Steve said.
"Hopper died," Dustin sobbed.
"He made his own choice, too," Steve said softly. "He chose to save Hawkins. We wouldn't have made it out of a lot of situations without you."
"Yeah, but we wouldn't have gotten into certain situations if it hadn't been for me like when I tried to keep Dart. What if he had killed my mom and not my cat?" Dustin asked.
"But he didn't," Steve said.
"Sometimes, I have nightmares about him eating mom, my friends, and you. Now, I also dream about the Russians hurting my older brother," Dustin said. "I don't know what I would do if you died because me."
"You are not responsible for what happened. The Russians are and the mad scientist who started all of this," Steve said softly and clutched him tightly to his chest.
"I know it doesn't look like it, but I question myself all the time, and I wonder if I'm making the right decisions," Dustin said.
"We all do that, Dustin," Nancy said softly. "You're not alone in that."
"Even you?" Dustin sniffled.
"Especially me," Nancy said. "I've made decisions that could have the cost the lives of this entire town. I know what it's like to feel responsible for the decisions you've made. The minute you realized that you messed up with Dart, you tried to fix it. I mean, you did it by yourself, and he ended up escaping, but you did try. You ended up reaching out for help, and in doing so, you got a big brother out of it. Sometimes, the only thing you can do is take responsibility and do better rather than stewing in the regret of the decisions you've made. It took me a while to even realize that I messed up. Even longer than you. I still feel like I have so much to make up for. You're not alone in feeling like that, and you're not alone in feeling like everything is your fault either. Just because you were responsible for one thing doesn't mean that you're responsible for another."
Dustin moved from Steve’s arms to Nancy's and hugged her tightly. Nancy sighed and removed his hat to kiss the top of his curls. She put his hat back on his head and pinched his cheeks. Dustin scowled and sat back down. He cracked a smile as he adjusted his hat.
"I feel small," Robin blurted out. "Like, I saw everything, and I just felt so much smaller now that I know what's out there. I just feel like everything in my life doesn't matter, or at least that's what I think, but then it's like maybe it matters even more now, to live your life the way you want to without anyone's expectations bringing you down. Just when I think that I'm going to do that, the feeling of being small comes back, and I think about all those people stuffed inside that fucking monster. It honestly scares me that your life can just be snuffed out like that. If that makes sense."
"It does. On one hand, you want to be true to yourself, but on the other hand, you're afraid that your truth might scare the people you care about most away," Will said. "Even if you know that they wouldn't care, there's still this irrational fear that they might be carrying that secret like the secret you carry."
"Exactly," Robin agreed.
"And at the end of the day, you have to risk trusting them because you want the people in your life to know you," Mike said. "Because you never know, they might understand more than you think."
"And you just have to decide if they're worth the risk," Robin said, smiling at Steve. "It's all about perspective."
For several moments, no one said anything until Lucas started sniffling and shaking his leg.
"What's up, Lucas?" Steve asked.
"I just - no, it's too awful," Lucas sniffed.
"Hey, safe space here," Nancy said. "We're not going to judge you."
"It's just that I'm glad that Max isn't here, that she broke up with me because I'm not sure if I'd be able to look at her if she knew what I was thinking," Lucas said. "There's a part of me that's glad. . . That's glad that Billy is dead because at least he can't hurt anyone anymore. The monsters, they're scary as shit but Billy scared me more than anything else because he wasn't a monster from another dimension. He was just a person who targeted me because of the color of my skin. He held me against the wall, and he threatened to break me. I still have nightmares about him holding me there, and what if Steve hadn't intervened in time? What if he held me to the ground and beat me until I couldn't wake up? Then I dreamed about him going after my dad, my mom, and my sister. He makes me watch and tells me he's going to break us, that we don't belong. . . then I'm back at the Byers again, and he's holding me in the air, threatening to break me as Steve lies dead on the floor. Billy scared me more than anyone or anything because before he got possessed, he was a real monster, and there's more people like him out there who wanted to see people like me dead. It scares the shit out of me. I feel like I should feel bad, though, that he's dead, but I don't. I only feel bad for Max."
"Lucas. . . You're not a bad person for feeling the way that you do. Billy Hargrove was a terror, and you're right. He was a monster. You had every right to be scared of him, and you have a right to be relieved that he's not around to hurt you anymore," Nancy said softly.
"He scared the crap out of me, too. Remember when he tried to run us over and he almost killed Steve? I am super glad he's not around to hurt my friends anymore. Do I feel bad for Max? Yes. Do I feel bad that Billy's gone? No. In my book, that's another bad guy who's not around to hurt our family anymore," Dustin said.
"I felt sad that his father was so mean, and that his mother left him alone, but that does not mean he should act like Papa. I am sad for Max, but I will be glad that he will not be around to hurt Max or any of my friends," El said. "He will not be missed, which is sad, but he made his own choices, and he chose to be bad."
"I'm glad he's gone even more now that I've heard what he's done to you kids. He was a psychopath. You could see it in the eyes. He definitely had it in for my friend, Jeff, which is further proof that he's a racist shithead," Eddie said. "Fucking sexist too."
"See? You're not alone in feeling that way, Lucas. It doesn't mean you're a bad person," Nancy said.
"Then why do I feel bad about not feeling bad?" Lucas asked.
"Because you're a better person than he was," Steve said.
"He saved us, saved El," Lucas said.
"A bad person can do one nice thing his entire life, but it will never make up for all the shitty vile things he's done. . .that takes constant work," Nancy said. "It took El digging in his head to pull out the one shred of decency that he had buried deep inside."
"You can either end the cycle of abuse your parents' beat into you, or you can pass it on. Billy chose to pass it on, man," Steve said. "He had every opportunity to give Max the older brother she deserved, but he waited at the very last minute to do the bare minimum. You're not a bad person, Lucas. Billy was, though."
Steve got up to hug the crying Sinclair, but Erica had beat him to it. She threw her arms around his waist, hugging him tightly.
"You're my brother, and you can be such a dumbass but I love you. I'm glad he's not around to hurt you anymore either," Erica said softly.
Lucas sniffled and hugged his sister back just as tightly. Everyone fell quiet as they watched the siblings hug. They sat back down, and the silence continued as they let Lucas mull over what's been said. Nancy pulled out a box of tissues and laid them on the table. Lucas gladly helped himself to some.
"I don't want to move to California," Will blurted out.
"Have you told your mom about that?" Nancy asked.
"No. I know how much she wants to leave, and I get it. She was put through hell here. We all were, but this is our home, too. All of you are here, and what if something happens again? I also don't want to be the one to make my mother miserable here," Will said. "I just wish I had a choice like El did. I want to stay here too."
"I think maybe you should tell your mom that. I think she'd understand about you wanting to stay," Nancy said. "I think she'd be happy with whatever choice you wanted to make."
"I mean, it's not like we'd never see each other again if we did move to California," Will said.
"I don't want you to move either," Mike blurted out. "You're my best friend. You're our best friend. Why does it have to be all the way in California? I mean, can't it be somewhere closer? First, we lost Hopper. Now we're going to have to lose you? You have to lose us? It's not fucking fair?! It's not right! And what about us? What if something happens again? We're just on our own again?! It's not fair!"
Will stood up and pulled Mike into his arms, squeezing him. Mike sobbed and hugged him.
"I'll talk to my mom, okay. I'll talk to her," Will said softly.
Lucas stood up and joined the hug. Dustin soon followed, and then it was El who joined the hug after them. Dustin cleared his throat and looked over at the others. Nancy moved with everyone else, and soon, they were all holding onto each other. They all stayed like that for a while until Dustin let out a gaseous cloud that dispersed them immediately.
"Oh my God! Steven! What are you feeding that child?!" Eddie exclaimed.
"I'm sorry! So many things were released today! What's one more toxic thing?!" Dustin exclaimed as everyone gagged.
El started giggling, which set off a chain reaction that caused everyone to laugh. They laughed harder when Robin dramatically threw open the windows. They didn't stop laughing until they all collapsed on the ground.
"I have to ask though, what's with all the journals?" Lucas asked as they all stood up.
"I got those for all of us to write our thoughts, feelings, and dreams down in," Nancy said.
"I do feel a little better now that I got some stuff off my chest," Lucas said.
"And I got stickers for you to decorate your journals with," Eddie said.
"Why are there so many My Little Pony stickers?" Mike asked.
"The question is: why isn't there more?" Erica asked.
"That's all they had in the store," Eddie said. "I LOVE My Little Pony."
Nancy and Steve shared an amused look as Eddie got into a heated debate over My Little Pony with Erica and Dustin. It had been a good idea to do this because it was another step forward to moving on and receiving the proper healing that they all needed. Nancy only hoped that they could keep this up. She knew that there were still hardships ahead, but as she gazed at them all, she could feel hope on the rise.

Stonathan Fake Dating 1
Eddie was sure he'd been caught. That he'd been way to obvious about his crush on Steve. Maybe it was calling him 'Stevie' too often, even when he was arguing with him. Whatever his tell was, Dustin had caught on. That had to be what the 'lovebirds' comment was about.
But then why did Dustin look like he was the one who was caught instead?
"Dustin, you need to watch what you say", Steve said slowly. Too slowly. Like he knew exactly what Dustin was referring to. Oh god, did Steve know how he felt?
"Wait, what's going on?", Mike asked.
"Dustin knows something and he's not telling us", Lucas said.
Mike shook his head. "There's no way he'd keep a secret after what happened last time."
"How dare you lecture me?", Dustin gawked.
"How dare you keep secrets?", Max shot back.
"It's not my secret to tell."
Will jumped on that. "So there is something. Told you, Mike."
Eddie felt the walls closing in. The kids were about to know and Steve too if he didn't already. "Okay, okay. Maybe the person this secret belongs to isn't ready to tell everyone."
"OR", Dustin looked Eddie right in the face. "Maybe that person should realize everyone here is safe. And that we'll all be there for them if they-ahem-come out and say it." He then turned his very pointed gaze towards Steve, who then looked to Jonathan and what the fuck?
Jonathan looked ready to jump out of his skin but then Steve gave him his best puppy dog eyes and Eddie was ready to jump out of his own skin. What the hell was happening right now? Then Jonathan let out a sigh and nodded.
"Okay, we're gonna need everyone to not freak out", Steve said.
"Who's 'we'?", Mike asked.
"The secret that I've been asking Dustin to keep...is that me and Jonathan are dating."
That got the typically rowdy teens to shut up and at this point Steve thought he deserved a medal for accomplishing that three times. Turns out all it took was coming out as gay. Who knew?
"You're gay?!", Mike squawked first.
"And dating my brother?!", Will added.
Eddie felt like the floor had disappeared. He was going through the stages of something but he couldn't figure out just what. Steve was gay. With Jonathan. He was gay with Jonathan. Steve was gay and he was being gay with Jonathan.
"Guys, be cool", Dustin said. "Steve finally found someone. Now he doesn't need to go around town dating anything in a skirt."
"Question", Lucas held up a finger. "Steve is in fact a total skirt chaser. And Jonathan is not a skirt."
Steve looked lost for an answer. Eddie finally came up for air but was still short of it when he squeaked out, "Some like both." When all heads turned towards him, he cleared his throat to get back to his normal register.
"Some like both", he said again, shoving his hands in his pockets, lest he start biting his nails.
Steve then snapped his fingers. "You know! I actually have an uncle like that. He had a girlfriend one year and a boyfriend another." Steve didn't mention how he didn't see that uncle often nor what his parents thought of that situation.
"I'm still kind of stuck on the why", Will said. "And also the when?" He thought back to the talk he and his brother had at the end of the world in a pizza kitchen.
"There's...it's a lot of details", Jonathan finally spoke up. "But it's all true. Steve and I are a thing." Taking the lead, he reached out for Steve's hand, which he took.
To all the young eyes, any awkwardness was brushed off as two freshly minted boyfriends who had just revealed the heavy truth of their relationship.
And since they didn't quite know how to talk about it just yet, a movie was picked, and the night went on mostly as normal. The only change was that Steve and Jonathan sat closer than usual and Steve eventually put his arm across the back of the couch.
-------------------------------
Eddie was going to lose it. Scratch that, he was already losing it. And his poor victim of the evening was his uncle.
"So lemme get this straight", Wayne said, glass of oj in hand. "Your dream boy became available then unavailable in about 5 seconds right before your eyes?"
Eddie collapsed onto the couch, jostling Wayne just a bit but the juice managed to stay in the glass. He let out a groan muffled by the cushions.
"How's the boy he's with now?"
Eddie moved his head just enough to speak clearly. "He's....fine."
"He a weirdo like you?"
"No. Well, yes, but a different brand", Eddie said. "Guess Steve likes the...loner, short, straight hair, perfect nose, sad eyes, artistic type."
"Sounds like you're sweet on this guy too", Wayne pointed out.
"I get it. Jon-boy's a catch. Just wish I knew I had a chance before I lost it."
Wayne patted Eddie's head. He had to listen to Eddie wax poetic about Steve for some time now. He didn't think it would end happily, given their society. It wasn't the first time Eddie had his heart broken. Hopefully he got over it quickly.

There For You
Tumblr media
Billy Hargrove x Reader
summary: billy needs someone to help him but he doesn’t want the help.
1.3k words
Dating Billy Hargrove was never an easy task. You loved him, but he had been through more than most people had in their entire lifetime and it, in turn, caused a lot of mental damage. He tended to take this out on other people, which repelled anyone from trying to help him. So by the time you got to him, there were a lot of pieces for you to try to put back together.
The two of you had made the plan to meet up at his house at 12:30 am, giving his dad enough time to fall into a deep sleep before you came over. Billy didn’t want you to have to witness something that you should never have to. You, however, were unaware that there was anything he was protecting you from. You never thought twice about showing up at his house late at night. You were never afraid of what you might see there because you simply didn’t know.
So on this particular day, you followed the normal routine. You left your house five after 12 and parked 4 houses away from his. As you were walking from your car to his house though, you noticed that the window was closed and the curtains were drawn shut. Your feet stalled, unsure of what to do. Billy had always kept his window open a crack and had the curtains open when you came over. What was different this time?
You continued to his window nonetheless and tapped softly on it to not wake anyone but Billy. You heard movement from the room and exhaled a sigh of relief, previously worried that he had been upset with you.
Your worry quickly returned as you didn’t see him approach the window, instead, the dull light coming from the room switched off. You stood there in shock for a second, gathering your thoughts and pulling your cardigan closer to you, suddenly feeling a chill run down your spine. You couldn’t tell if it was from the cold shoulder your boyfriend had given you or from the chilly January weather.
You stood still at the window, watching your breath leave your mouth in the below-freezing cold, contemplating what to do. Then, the idea came to you.
You snuck around the perimeter of the house until you reached the window you knew belonged to your boyfriends younger sister. You tapped on her window just as you did on her brothers.
The redhead peeked through her curtains warily, but calmed down and opened them fully when she saw it was you. She slid open her window and spoke.
“Y/N? what are you doing here?” she said through a yawn.
It had just occurred to you that you didn’t know what to say. She couldn’t know that you were there to see Billy because then she would wonder why. You couldn’t risk her telling people about you and Billy’s relationship. While you didn’t think she would tell everyone, you knew she would tell Dustin, and Dustin would tell Steve, and once it reached Steve, everyone would know.
You settled on, “can I come in?”
She wordlessly held out her hand to help you climb into her window. “So what are you doing here?” she repeated, more awake and patience wearing thin.
You sighed. The only choice was to tell her.
“I’m- uh- I’m here to see Billy.”
Her face was a jumble of emotion. Confusion then disgust, anger and then settling on annoyance. “I knew there had to be something going on,” she said finally, rolling her eyes.
Now it was your turn to be confused. “Uh- wha- what do you mean you knew? How would you know?”
“Oh come on, Y/N, you know the walls are thin. I can hear your voice coming from his room.”
You froze. If max could hear then… could his dad?
“Oh… so uh… do you think… your parents…?”
“Calm down, I can only hear because our rooms are right next to each other. If Billy’s dad knew you snuck in every week, you would know.”
You exhaled quickly. Good, that was good, you thought and then remembered why you came in the first place and the series of events that led you here.
“Is Billy ok?” you asked.
Max was quiet.
“Max? Is Billy ok? What happened?” You started to worry.
“He and his dad got into a fight. I don’t know if he wants to be around anyone.”
“Oh…” was all you could say. You contemplated your options but ultimately decided that if Billy was hurting then you could make him better.
You left Max's room and walked the short distance to Billy’s. You didn’t bother knocking and just walked right in.
Billy was ready to start yelling at Max for barging in but softened when he realized it was you. Before he realized it, it was you.
He swiftly got up off his bed and charged over to you, closing the door violently behind you. “What the fuck are you doing here? Go home,” he said quietly through gritted teeth.
“No.”
Billy’s eyes widened at your response. “What do you mean ‘no’?” he growled.
“I mean no. I’m not going home. What’s wrong? I want to help you.”
Billy wasn’t used to such stubbornness. He faltered for just a second, now knowing what to do.
“Billy, just tell me what’s wrong. I’m here to help you. Is it your dad?”
The man in front of you noticeably shrunk at the words. “What do you know?” he said in a quieter, gentler voice, almost sounding defeated
“I don’t know anything. Max mentioned you got in a fight with your dad, that’s all,” you said, suddenly scared by the switch of tone. You felt as if you said something you shouldn’t have.
It was as if you could see the anger rising in his throat again. “I’m gonna kill her,” was all he said before trying to push past you. You held firm.
“Billy. Stop. What happened? Just talk to me,” you pushed further. It was then, looking at him from so close, that you could see the blooming red mark on his left cheek. “Bills…” you said, hand reaching up to graze over it.
He stared into your eyes, unsure of what to do or say. Wordlessly, you grabbed his wrists and led him over to his bed. You lay down and pulled him on top of you, pressing his head to your chest as you cuddled him. You ran your fingers through his hair as you heard a sniffle. Another. And a couple more. He was crying.
You don’t know how long the both of you stayed there in that position, not a word passing between you two. After a while, you felt his breathing even out and heard a soft snore coming from billy. You soon followed him into slumber, feeling the security of knowing that your boyfriend feels comfortable enough around you to sleep.
—————————
When you woke up, Billy was no longer in your arms. You looked over at his clock and read the time: 5:47.
What on earth is he doing up so early? you thought to yourself.
As if he heard your inner voice, Billy strolled into the room holding two plates full of eggs and toast.
“Hey,” was all he said in a soft voice as he moved to sit next to you on the bed.
“What’s all of this Billy?” you asked quietly.
He was silent for a second, not knowing how to respond. He decided to go with the truth of his unexpected chivalry.
“no one’s ever done that before.”
There were no other words that needed to be said. You enveloped him in a tight hug, both of you never wanting to let go.

Oscar Piastri: He’s so me! He kind of looks like a side character in a Disney movie, he looks like the best friend of a Disney original movie whose there for like the first 10 minutes of the movie and then you never see him again. He’s silly.
Lando Norris: He has very strange unexplainable vibes. If he was next to me on a bus I’d scoot away. If he was my Uber driver I would play those “play this if you feel unsafe” audios. He also looks like he’s gonna have a mental breakdown. One curly fry in his normal fries away from ending it all. Probably be really good at the uncanny valley trend ( for some reason ).
George Russell: He looks like a middle school boy. Like an elementary school boy. He looks like when you open Facebook and there’s just a random kid. Looks like he’s the little brother of someone at a pta meeting. He made everyone play airplanes with him at recess. Looks like he’d help an old lady across the street but the wrong way.
Lewis Hamilton: Looks like a Dhar Mann actor. Would go on strike. “So you see…” If you stared at him for too long his eye would start twitching. Would flip if you ask him if he’s okay after that. Would be bandit in that one obstacle course bluey episode where he cheats and throws bluey to win.
Charles Leclerc: If he sneezed too hard his hair would jump off and crawl away. A creature. Polite, but a creature nonetheless. Really nice and great but if he stubbed his toe he’d start speaking in tongues. ( When showed a picture of a younger Charles ): he looks like that kid who cried cause his cat was gonna get sold.
Carlos Sainz: gives off the vibe of the guy who green screens himself onto the TikTok thirst traps. If I was in a coffee shop and he was behind me in line I’d get out of line to get away from him.
Max Verstappen: If there was a Minecraft movie he’d play Steve. Really square ( not sure if that’s a compliment ). Would give up his bus seat to a pregnant mother. Delightful. Would be scared of snap bracelets.
Sergio Perez: ( There was silence for a good minute ). Looks like the male version of “A single mom who works two jobs, who loves her kids and never stops.” Tucks phantom hair behind his ear and bats his eyelashes.
Logan Sergeant: Looks like Preston plays. Looks like he gets called a meow meow on tumblr. Would insist on watching horror movies but then scream and hide behind the couch when anything remotely scary happens. If he smiled really wide all of his molars would be gold teeth.
Alex Albon: He looks like if Mikey from tmnt was a person. Would partake in the trend where people do the spin and their boyfriends run in and grab them. Would have eaten glue as a kid. Gives off square marble vibes. Spoon in the fork drawer. Would also give up his seat to a pregnant mother.
Fernando Alonso: He has the human eyes that dogs have. Wouldn’t scoot away, I would just get nervous everytime he moves. At least once in his life has held out a hat for a penny.
Lance Stroll: Looks like he posts TikTok thirst traps but all the comments are making fun of him. Would turn around and say “so erm…that just happened.” Give the waiter a stink eye if they took too long to get his water. The villain in the Dhar Mann universe. Would be given a shitty redemption arc that doesn’t redeem him.
Esteban Ocon: ( Would have said toxic masculinity but saw the photo of him with the face mask things on ). Looks like he glued his hair back on. Looks like nat the rat from Barbie island princess. Why does he have an eagle? Looks like he was born in 2017 and never left. Also gives off “erm…so that just happened.”
Pierre Gasly: Is he ugly on purpose?
Yuki Tsunoda: I like him! Looks like he’d be mischaracterized by an entire fandom. Would be called “a little bean” and never be able to escape it. Guides an old lady across the street but the right way. Tried an ouija board and got cursed. Would say he’s a pro gamer but only plays fortnite and is kinda bad.
Daniel Ricciardo: Coquette. Looks like he sings the song that goes “Baby lock them doors and turns them lights down low.” Gives off the vibes of the “ROOTBEER” guy. ( when shown one specific picture ) LOOKS LIKE THE THUMB PEOPLE FROM SPY KIDS.
Nico Hulkenberg: Looks like a street interviewer. “Reminds me of Johnny Bravo as well” If Johnny Test was raised in a normal family with good values. Looks like a very distant cousin twice removed of Gordon Ramsey. Unironically listens to Ed Sheeran and plays it REALLY loud. You’d catch him humming “Shape of You” Looks like he’d go to a library solely for picture books. The uncle that only shows up to weddings and gets absolutely wasted. He probably ate his twin in the womb.
Kevin Magnussen: Thought his name was Kevin Magnussy. Is always in pain, even just a little bit. Turned 9 and went “augh my knees…” Eats garnishes off dishes ( forced to specify: grabs them full force with closed fist, gripping it, shoves it into his mouth and then goes back to normal ). If you tried to tell him about your interests he’d go “haha yeah” and walk away. Looks like he’d say “Don’t kill yourself…You’re so sexy haha”
Zhou Guanyu: ( When learning about his cat ) Sweetcorn? That’s cute! Would hear about controversial topics but does not research. He definitely posts fake paparazzi videos. Reminds me of the baby in the sardines commercial in cloudy with a chance of meatballs.
Valterri Bottas: Looks like Bertram. Drinks the ink out of pens ( force to specify: would drink the ink out of pens, you’d come back and ask him where it went, deny involvement but all of the ink would pour out of his mouth ). Looks like he purposefully goes into target and scratches the bottoms of Stanley cups off to give everyone lead poisoning.

Alive Poly Harringrove x reader
Poly! Billy x Reader x Steve
Time it took me: Probably around 4 hours while watching a movie and cooking dinner.
Word Count: 1614
I wrote this for me but I wanted to post it so here you go my loves! <3
Tumblr media
"I don't want you to go." Billy said firmly.
"Wait what? You need me, you can't win this without me! Eleven can't win without me. She's not strong enough." You said, shaking your head.
"No you're not going!" Billy yelled, making you jump.
"Billy, you know she's right.. We need her, El can't do this without her." Steve said, running his hands through his hair. His eyes were slightly glossy and red.
There was a new force of evil running through the veins of Hawkins. It was stronger than anything you've ever fought before. El has lost multiple times to it and so have you. The group has started to call it Vecna. You've had dreams about it, you've had visions about it. You've seen each and every outcome of this battle.
You've seen them fail.
Win.
Die.
You've seen you lose Yourself and everyone you love and care about.
Billy.. Steve.. El.. Max.. everyone. That was your power. The gang Nicknamed you the fortune Teller or fortune cookie. You can see the future of everything and everyone. Every decision they make you can see their life path and purpose switch. Rather the ending is good or bad you can see it all. But you can’t necessarily tell them what happens or you lose sight of that person's path of life.
When you and El escaped from the lab you both were frightened to death. Both were scared of getting caught and taken back to Dr Brenner. You two were his favorites. And from your visions you knew he would stop at nothing to get you both back until he was dead. His ending was always the same. So much that you stopped looking for a different ending.
 He chose his life.
 And he chose his path.
You were a year older than El. You knew a lot more about life than she did. Only things from your vision though. You still knew very little. But that didn't stop you from immediately having a crush on Steve when you first saw him. You liked everything about him. From his big head of hair to his try hard charm. He liked you as well but he felt like the age gap was too much. Though you already knew that you saw the vision. You would always tell him small things about his future that you were sure would happen just to freak him out.
Anytime Steve would talk about a girl or having another crush you'd always shrug it off and say "I don't know why you're so pressed about it, we're all gonna end up together anyways. You just have to wait for Billy" Each time he and everyone else would ask "Who's Billy?" "What are you talking about??" They all questioned you until Billy came into town a few months later.
When Mike,Lucas and Dustin came fussing about MadMax all you could do was smile. when they asked you why you said "Billy's here." They would tease you about having an imaginary boyfriend until they saw that Billy was MadMax's brother.
"That's impossible." Lucas said.
"It's like she's a wizard! No guys hear me out-" Dustin yelled in excitement.
"No, that's crazy!" Mike screeched.
That was until you met Billy. He was busy yelling at Steve about something you can't remember about what. You walked into the room and when his eyes landed on you his eyes softened and his voice lower. The rest of the gang was there, staring at the scene unfolding in front of them.
"Hello Billy." You said softly, smiling at him.
"Do I know you pretty girl?" He questioned softly, frowning his eyebrows.
"You feel that flutter in your chest? It's a sign that you already know me Billy. You've felt it for a couple of days haven't you?" You said walking closer to him. As you did Steve backed up a little from Billy's grip.
"How did you know that?" He whispered tilting his head.
"You shouldn't fight with Steve like that. We'll be together, all three of us. I wouldn't want any fighting when I'm around. It's a headache." You finally made your way to Billy. Bringing your hand up to his check you tucked his hair behind his ear. To which he leaned his head into your hold.
"Who are you?" He questioned.
"You already know."
Approximately 2 months later from that day You, Steve and Billy started dating.  It was very bumpy in the beginning. Steve and Billy fought a lot no matter if it was about you or not. But you always were the only one to be able to break them up and for them to just kiss and make up like big boys.
Everyone was shocked when you three started dating besides El. She knew your visions were always real. Soon after everyone did too. Whenever you didn't want to do something and you were adamant about not going somewhere. They all knew something bad would happen so they all would just stick with you. The group has grown to trust your judgment. To the point they would ask you pointless questions about their day to day life.
"Can I go to the grocery store?" Joyce asked, holding onto her purse looking at you.
"Yeah? Why wouldn't you be able to?” You questioned.
“Just checking.” Joyce said, walking away with a soft smile.
“Is this going to be a good brush for my hair or am I just wasting my time?” Steve asked, holding up a brush for you to see.
“Your hair will tangle up easier.” You said as Billy tightened his hold on your waist.
“Damn it.” Steve said, walking to put the brush down.
“Is Mike ever going to pay me back?” Lucas said, running up to you panting out of breath.
“Most likely not.” You said shrugging, flipping the page of the magazine you were holding.
“I told you! I knew it!” Lucas yelled to Mike.
“She doesn’t know what she’s talking about! She doesn’t know what I’m gonna do in the future!” Mike screeched out.
“Like hell she does!” Dustin yelled out.
“You’ll die! I can’t let that happen.” Billy said, shaking his head.
He started to pace the room. A sign that you’ve learned that he does when he's scared or nervous. You're sure he's feeling all of those things right now. Billy is way more protective over you than Steve is. Steve will be protective over you till a certain extent. Billy will protect you to his death. He refuses to let anyone hurt you. Even himself.
“Way to throw good vibes in the air.” Steve mumbled under his breath.
“I’m not fucking around right now Harrington!” Billy said pushing Steve a little too hard to your liking.
“Billy, I will be fine. But I can’t sit around and watch you all die knowing I could have tried.” You said without even thinking.
“All of us?” Robin questioned.
“Oh great. Just great! She’s confirmed our death and you guys still want to go?!” Eddie said, jumping up from the sofa.
“We’re gonna die..” Nancy said, looking down.
“I- It’s a path but it’s not the only one! Billy I have to go or else it will be the only path. As much as you love me I can’t let that happen. I would never be the same. They’re my family.” You said keeping eye contact with Billy. His eyes were facing the ground. His eyes kept moving like they were searching for something but you know it was his attempts to keep his tears in.
“I- I..” Billy struggled to say. You walked closer to him with your head tilted a little.
“Billy, I have to go.”
“I can’t lose you. You're all I have. I can’t live a life without you.” Billy said lowly. His voice cracked a little but you heard him perfectly fine.
“You won’t lose me. I promise. And I’m not all you have.. You have Steve.” You said promising and in attempts to make him feel better.
Billy let out a bitter laugh.
“We fight like dogs.” He huffed out.
“Because you love each other just as much as you both love me. Just in your own ways.” You said softly grabbing his billy lifting it up slightly so you could see better. Wiping his tears you kissed his lips softly.
“We're going to be okay. I promise.”
“Pinky promise?” Billy and Steve said at the same time making them look at each other as Steve moved closer.
“Pinky promise.” You answered softly, smiling.
Steve kissed your forehead and brung the three of you into a small group hug. You all felt each other relax in each other's hold. With this you saw their life paths change. They’d stick together no matter what happened tonight and that was all you needed. If there was a sacrifice that had to be made, Your two lover boys would have each other's backs to the end.
“So are we still going?” Eddie asked, making you three break away from the group hug.
“Yeah we are.” You said nodding.
“And are we all going to live?” Erica questioned.
“If that’s what you call it.” You said starting to walk away.
“Wait what?! What do you mean by that?!” Eddie screamed.
“Oh hell.”
“That’s it! We're doomed!” Dustin said.
This would be one hell of a fight and all you knew was One of you was not walking away from it alive. And you would be damned if it was one of them.
There all you have.
And no one was going to take them from you.

I thought I was done being disappointed in stranger things. Falling out of love with a hyperfixation that brought me so much joy already sucked, but the whole Noah Shnapp shit really ruined it for me. I wasn't planning on watching or supporting season 5 anyways, but finding out Argyle won't be in s5 has really stripped away any want still buried deep in my brain man, like I'm not even slightly interested in watching illegally now. (I wasn't planning on it but curiosity is strong sometimes)
Jonathan was my favorite character, and Argyle is SO important for his character. Like putting aside how important Argyle was to the plot of s4, his importance to Jonathan was reason enough for him being there since Jonathan NEEDED him.
Argyle was the ONLY relationship he had that didn't have expectations. He could be free and loose and himself around Argyle. This isn't hate towards Will or Joyce or Nancy because he loves them and the story likes to ignore it but those relationships all come with expectations that the story has hinted at being hard for Jonathan to manage.
He loves his brother and his mom but the role he was forced into so young has really damaged him and how he views himself. The expectation to be a fatherly figure, an authority figure, a protector. I know Jonathan doesn't mind doing it because he loves his family but it's a lot of pressure and if s4 told us anything (again, even if the story likes to gloss over it for some reason) that pressure was too much for him.
And I LOVE Jancy, I love Nancy, but again s4 told us directly that in some way he feels a lot of pressure with her. He feels the need to give up on his dreams in one way or another, because it's either he goes to college with Nancy doing something he doesn't exactly wanna do, or he doesn't and he loses his girlfriend. He fears communication with her because she might get upset, at the end of s4 you can see that while he trusts Nancy and doesn't think anything is going on with Steve because he also trusts Steve, we can't deny the writers might do some lame ass love triangle bullshit this next season which will put even more pressure on Jonathan because now he might lose his girlfriend to his previous bully 🧍‍♀️
Argyle was SO healthy for Jonathan's character! He helped get Jonathan out of his comfort zone in some ways, in all 4 seasons with Argyle Jonathan was the most free and silly and acted like a teenager! He could just be a teenager with Argyle. He wasn't a supportive big brother or boyfriend or oldest son or any of the stigmatizations from his home town with Argyle, he was just Jonathan. Instead of worrying about taking care of Will, or getting a job to help pay bills or (at the time) fighting monsters, he was playing golf in the middle of a car dump with his best friend, getting high in their pizza van and having fun. I dunno, I just think it's a shame we're taking away his only friend that he isn't dating or related to.
I also fear that the did it for a reason of pushing the love triangle because let's be real if Argyle was there Jancy would just communicate. Argyle wouldn't stand for them dancing around each other and Steve being an issue he'd be like 'talk it out 👏🏼👏🏼'
Again this isn't even MENTIONING how important he is to the plot of s4 in general? Some people say he was just the comic relief and while he definitely played that role, he also is the reason half the main cast are alive?? Without Argyle; will, Mike and Jonathan would be dead! They would have no escape from the government SHOOTING THEIR HOUSE AND TRYING TO KILL THEM. they would have no transportation to find El, they'd have never even found El! They'd never have found a place to make a bathtub so El could save max, they'd never have made it back to Hawkins! He is an important character not just to Jonathan (because while I adore their friendship and this post may make it seem that way) HE IS NOT AN ACCESSORY TO JONATHAN! He was a fun character, a relavent character!
They could have done so much with him, imagine how he could have interacted with other characters? Character pair ups that could have been awesome? Steve and Argyle would be SO FUNNY! Argyle and Dustin, Argyle and Lucas bonding over neither being fucking white, Argyle and Robin being a comedy duo, Argyle and fucking Nancy having a conversation as Jonathan best friend and girlfriend respectively, or Argyle finally just meeting the girl he's heard about for a year- i dunno the possibilities are endless and the duffers are lame for not doing ANYTHING with the potential of these characters.
Oh well, I lost respect for Stranger Things a while ago, but a part of me is still passionate about the story being told and it really is a shame for Jonathan's character. But I shouldn't be surprised the writers have always kind of hated Jonathan. Those stonathan moments better be great I guess, I dunno I won't be watching it 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

Beat Up Babysitters
Steve Harrington x Henderson!Reader
Masterlist
A/N: It's been a while since I've written for Steve! I hope y'all like it!
Summary: Steve and (y/n) face off with Billy in order to protect the kids.
Warnings: mentions of blood, fighting, fluff
(y/h/c) - your hair color
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As (y/n) watched Dustin and Steve clear out the Byer's refrigerator to make room for the demo-dog that El had killed, she couldn't help but chuckle at the way the pair interacted. It was like Steve was the older brother that Dustin never had, and (y/n) was so thankful that her boyfriend was taking over that role.
The slamming of the fridge door broke her from her thoughts. The girl looked up to see them staring at the fridge, Steve ruffling Dustin's hair lovingly. She could've sworn her heart melted right there. Steve turned toward her as Dustin walked to find his friends.
"What's got you smiling all cute like that, Henderson?" he asks with a smirk, sauntering towards her.
She just smiled in return. "You."
"Me?" he chuckles, "What did I do?"
"You take care of us, Steve. And Dustin, he absolutely adores you."
Steve tugs her into a hug, rubbing her back. "I love you guys."
Pulling away, Steve cupped her cheeks, going in for a kiss but was interrupted by the sound of arguing in the living room. Sighing, he took (y/n)'s hand and led her towards the kids who were supposed to be cleaning.
Mike was heard first. "You weren't in there, Lucas. That lab is swarming with hundreds of those dogs."
"Demo-dogs!" yelled Dustin from the other room.
Throwing his hands up, Lucas turned towards Mike. "The chief will take care of her!"
"Like she needs protection," (y/n) whispered to herself.
Having enough, Steve steps up. "Listen, dude, a coach calls a play in a game, bottom line, you execute it. All right?"
Mike stares him down. "Okay, first of all, this isn't some stupid sports game. And second, we're not even in the game. We're on the bench."
"So my point is..." Steve stammered, glancing back at (y/n) for help. She stepped up next to him.
"We may not be in the game right now, but-uh-when the coach calls us to sub in the game, we need to be-"
Pursing her lips, she looked up at Steve with a defeated look. "Right, yeah," he starts, "We're on the bench, so, uh, there's nothing we can do."
"That's not entirely true," Dustin announces to the group.
From there, the kids described their plan to torch the hub in the tunnels, drawing the Demo-dogs away from El at the lab. The whole time, (y/n) and Steve were giving each other looks of disapproval, knowing how dangerous the plan could be.
Hearing all she could stand, (y/n) clapped her hands in front of her, getting their attention. "Hey. Hey! Hey! This is not happening."
"But-" Mike started, being cut off by Steve.
"No, no, no, no, no," he spat rapidly. "No buts. We promised we’d keep you shitheads safe, and that's exactly what we plan on doing."
(Y/n) pointed her finger towards the ground. "We're staying here. On the bench. And we're waiting on the starting team to do their job. Does everybody understand that?"
All the kids were silent except Mike. Why was it always Mike? "This isn't some stupid sports game!"
"She said does everybody understand that?" Steve questioned, slinging a towel off his shoulder towards the boy. "We need a yes."
Before they could respond, the sound of a revving engine filled the room. Max and Lucas ran to the window, cursing when they saw who it was.
"It's my brother," she whispered. "He can't know I'm here. He'll kill me. He'll kill us."
Steve and (y/n)'s eyes met briefly as they silently decided what to do. She started to follow him to the door but was stopped by his gentle hand on her shoulder.
"I need you to stay in here, baby. Keep the kids safe."
She nodded, watching him walk out the door. Her and the kids watched the tense interaction from the window. They couldn't hear anything, but when Billy pointed to the window, they knew they'd been spotted. Cursing under her breath, (y/n) quickly gets the kids to the kitchen, standing in front of them protectively.
When the door swung open and Billy walked through, (y/n) saw Steve's unmoving figure on the pavement.
"Well, well, well," he said, slamming the door behind him with a crash. "Lucas Sinclair. What a surprise."
(Y/n) flung her hands out, pushing them behind her again as Billy got closer. "Billy, you need to leave. Now!" she stated calmly, suppressing the immense fear she felt.
He completely ignored her, looking straight at his sister. "You disobeyed me. And you know what happens when you disobey me."
"Billy leave!" (Y/n) tried again.
His dark eyes never left Max. "Not without her."
"I can't let you do that."
"You remember what happens, Max?" he whispers, eyes drifting to (y/n). "I break things."
In an instant, he rushed forward and slammed into (y/n), sending her flying into the wall behind her with a loud thud. As (y/n) lay on the ground catching her breath, he moved on to Lucas, holding him up against the wall. She could hear the kids' screams over the ringing in her ears and when she saw Dustin kick Billy between his legs, she knew she had a chance.
"So dead, Sinclair! You're dead!" He yelled at Lucas, about to charge the boy.
Scrambling to her feet, (y/n) called his name from behind him, throwing a punch as he turned around. The swing hit its mark, but it didn't seem to bother him much. He wiped a drop of blood from his lip and let out a sinister laugh that made (y/n)'s blood run cold.
Swinging his fist at her wildly, she was able to dodge the first blow but caught the second bone-crunching punch to the cheek. She lost her balance momentarily and had to grab the kitchen counter to stay upright as she groaned. The ringing in her ear was back, now accompanied by blurry vision.
Dustin's voice could be heard through the ringing. "(Y/n), get out of there!"
"Guys, you get out of 'ere!" she slurred.
"(Y/n), look ou-"
In her dazed state, she failed to see Billy approaching her again. This time, he took a step and kicked her square in the chest. All the air was knocked from her lungs and she fell back against the kitchen table, her head hitting a table leg with a sickening crack.
She thought her head was going to explode from the pressure building up inside it and every sound increased the growing pain in her head. (Y/n) opened her eyes slightly, but all she saw through her blurry vision was two Billys standing over her.
"Wait. Why are there two of you?" (Y/n) whispered, dark overtaking her vision.
Billy pointed towards her. "Stay down, Henderson," he growled before turning back to Lucas and the others.
"Now where were we?" he asked. "Oh yeah. You're dead."
Steve appeared out of nowhere, grabbing Billy's attention. "No. You are."
The last thing (y/n) saw was Steve throwing a punch at Billy, knocking him down momentarily. After that, the pressure in her head became too much, and her vision faded to black.
The second Steve saw (y/n) slumped unconscious on the floor, a rage filled him that he'd never felt before. He pelted Billy swing after swing, unable to stop himself. Steve was winning until Billy got a hold of a plate and smashed it over his head. He stumbled back, giving Billy the upper hand.
Soon, Billy was on top of Steve, delivering punch after punch on the boy's already bloody and bruised face.
"He's gonna kill him!" the kids yelled.
When he realized this might be it, (y/n)'s face filled his mind. Her smile, laugh, the way she rambles on about the things she loves, He was going to miss that. With every blow he took, the world got darker and darker for Steve.
He knew he was one punch away from unconsciousness, but when it never came, he cracked his eyes open the best he could. Billy was on the ground, Max standing over him with the nail bat. Leaning up to look past them, he saw Dustin next to (y/n) on the kitchen floor, trying to wake her up with no success. Steve quietly called out to her, but nobody could hear him. Head thumping against the floor, his eyes closed as he was dragged into unconsciousness.

The roaring of an engine stirred Steve awake. Blurry figures and muffled yelling filled his senses. He glanced at the figure next to him.
"(Y/n)? Where is she?" he whispered.
The face of the person became clear, revealing Dustin, who looked at Steve with pity. Groaning in pain, he tried to touch his throbbing nose, but Dustin pushed his hand away. "No, don't touch it."
He slowly looked back up at him, starting to become more aware of his surroundings and the pain he was in.
"Hey, buddy," Dustin paused. "It's okay. You guys put up a good fight. He kicked your butt, but you put up a fight. You're okay."
Steve closed his eyes, face scrunching in pain. "Wh-where's (y/n)?"
The sight of her unconscious on the Byers' kitchen floor flashed in his mind, and he began to frantically look around the car for her. Dustin placed his hand on Steve's shoulder, pointing to the other side of him. His eyes slowly followed where Dustin was pointing, and he sighed in relief finding her slumped against his other shoulder.
Purple bruises were starting to form on her right cheek and eye, the swelling distorting her features. If he didn't know any better, he'd have thought she was just peacefully sleeping on his shoulder, not unconscious. Lightly cupping her cheek with one hand, he rubbed it softly, trying to wake her up.
"We already tried that, dips-"
"Mike. Stop." Max yelled from the front seat, drawing Steve's attention to her.
Steve's eyes flick around the car, realizing what was happening. "What's going on?"
The redhead looked back at him and everything fell into place. "Oh no. No, no, no."
"Just relax. She's driven before."
The kids started to argue about Max's driving experience as Steve freaked out even more. "Whoa! Stop the car. Slow down."
"I told you he's freak out." Mike smarted. "And just wait until (y/n) wakes up. She's gonna be even worse."
"Stop. The. Car." Steve yelled.
Max, having enough, turned towards the backseat. "Everybody shut up! I'm trying to focus!"
"Oh wait!" Lucas screamed, pointing in front of them. "That's Mount Sanai! Make a left!"
Cursing, she made a hard left, making everyone scream when she slammed into a mailbox that shook the car violently. Steve held onto (y/n) as they continued to run off the road.
When they finally arrived at the entrance of the tunnels, Steve clambered out of the vehicle, relying on the door to hold him up.
"We are not going down there right now. I made myself clear. There is no chance we're going into that hol-"
Out of nowhere, he heard a small voice from the car. "Steve?"
He leaned back into the car, smiling when he saw (y/n) half awake. At this point, anything was better than her being unconscious. Squinting her eyes, she groaned, reaching up to her cheek.
"Why does everything hurt?"
Steve had gotten back in the car and slid next to her, pulling her into his arms. "Billy beat the crap out of us, babe."
"Are you okay?" she asked quietly, running her hands through his hair like he loved.
Chuckling, Steve grabbed an icepack from beside them, gently pressing it to the back of her head. "How's your head? The kids said you fell and knocked it pretty good."
"It hurts, Steve. But so does my cheek, and my eye, and my back."
His brows furrowed. "What happened to your back?"
"Billy threw me up against the wall."
Placing his head in his hands, he sighed shakily. "I'm so sorry that I couldn't protect you, (y/n/n). I love you. I'm sorry, baby."
Sitting up slowly, she moved his hands from his face, cupping his cheeks. "It's okay. It's not your fault. It's our job to protect the kids, and we did that." She lifted his face to look at her. "We did our job, even if it ends with us being a bunch of beat-up babysitters."
"I'd gladly be the beat-up boyfriend if it meant that you'd be okay."
A lazy smile grew on her face. "Nah. I'm okay. I can take it."
"You shouldn't have to." He said lowly, voice serious.
"Steve. We're in this together. These kids are our kids. I love you."
He leaned down, connecting their lips softly, (y/n) hooking her arms around his neck, deepening the kiss. The couple was interrupted by Dustin clearing his throat, trying not to gag.
"That image is seared into my mind forever," he announced, matter-of-factly. "Steve, we have to go, now."
(Y/n)'s brows furrowed as they separated and Steve climbed out of the car. "I'm coming, too," she stated, getting out of the car. The first step she took out of the car, she lost her balance and started to fall over. Thankfully, Steve was there to catch her.
"Uhhh no. You're staying here, babe."
Lowering her back into the passenger's seat, he kissed her on the cheek lovingly.
"Don't go anywhere."
"Haha, very funny. Take care of our kids, Harrington!" she yelled, ignoring the pounding of her head.
Steve looked over his shoulder with a grin. "Always, Henderson."
