Alright, so first off imma say I LOVED THIS EPISODE SO MUCH LIKE HOLY MOLY, IT WAS DIFFERENT FROM THE REST OF THE EPISODES IN A VERY GOOD WAY AND IT WAS FUNNY AS HELL TOO

Honestly SO GLAD that this was just to make extra episodes and not that the contestants help writing, idk why but I'm jus happy about thay

Sadly there wasn't much Silverloon this episode BUT WE GOT SOME SILVERCANDLE! AND I LIKE SILVERCANDLE SO THIS IS A WIN!!

Love his face bro omg. BRO IF THE OBJECTS CAN BLUSH THEN WE TOTALLY COULD'VE GOTTEN THE PART IN III 16 WHEN SILVER BLUSHES WHEN BALLOON COMPLIMENTS HIM AW MAN, tho this was very cute

the fake episodes (they were so silly and entertaining)

my favorite fake episode was the pictionary challenge

the dart challenge (enanimat ensanetay is that you??)

obviously the silvercandle scene (he was even blushing at the end there you can't tell me he doesn't feel some type of way for her)

III - The Penultimate Memories (SPOILERS!)

WARNING! III 17 SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT!!! IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE EPISODE ALREADY, GO WATCH IT NOW!

Firstly, this episode isn't EXACTLY what I expected, but hey, a trailer's a trailer.

I was actually slightly upset about Nickel being eliminated, but hey, at least he can't win and he's gone. He seems to have resolved his shit with Balloon. That's good.

And the best part?

SPRINGY IS BACK, YO.

TO ME, IT TIES FURTHER INTO THE THEORY THAT SPRINGY AND WALKIE-TALKIE ARE ASSOCIATED WITH COBS.

hey guys, its been a while since i’ve done one of these, but i’m bringing it back - episodes in review!!! (that’s its name now)

featuring spoilers for iii episode 17!! make sure you watch that before you check this out

i feel like this episode was all over the place in the best way possible

for those unaware, i’m actually in the northern hemisphere for once which is why this is so late, i simply haven’t the time to watch it!!

to begin, why is he here

i love the asset yes, but cheesy is the last person i expected to see, is this balloon projecting the people he wanted to be friends with at the hotel??? i dunno, but this was such a silly scene

now, i had to rewind this bit at least five times to process what i saw

so remember what i said about balloon projecting? scratch that, i forgot this was a thing

first the fact that when he thought of fighting a shark the FIRST scenario that came to mind was him saving candle, that and the fact that he imagined her calling him “my spoon in silver armour” was so silly this fellow has read nothing but fairytales ever ok

also he was literally blushing do i have to say anything about that here? no, because this is tumblr and everyone understands everything

why are they here

i’ve been on a bfdi binge lately so i was actually very happy seeing coiny also the line about balloon only making friends with coins was so funny to me and i’m keeping that forever

as for paper he was so silly in this and for what, i love the guy

okay back to serious stuff

can i just say, the first thing i thought when i saw this scene was “that’s something cobs would say”

like,,, i was kind of terrified this entire episode because mephone’s desperation to chase his aspiration reminded me of just cobs’ whole demeanour. i know its a little silly of me, but this idea that ‘revolutionary technology’ should solve it all is just a liiiittle too similar to the way i feel meeple functions

but maybe thats just me i dunno

do i really need to say anything

little mans has attachment issues, i don’t think he actually likes the contests and all that as much as he actually likes the contestants, and i don’t think he realises he can just be friends with them

i feel so bad because he’s been brainwashed by the people around him that he thinks that the only thing giving him purpose is this show, its tragic

okay so back to the silly, this caught me so off guard because i adored enanimat ensanitay and yellowangiru’s ii song parody videos when i was younger, so seeing this gave me such bad whiplash i had to pause and think a second

it was such a random callback (if it is at all) and i absolutely loved it

oh back to the sad again wow!!

i think mephone’s realising his fault in managing the show, getting too ahead of himself when presented the promise of longer air times, but the issue is that he thinks that this shows he isn’t fit to run the show at all

i think this belief that “one mistake means your conpletely incapable” may have stemmed from meeple in some form or another, especially considering all the flashbacks and all

this brings me so much emotion

look at how far they’ve come, like genuinely. from worst enemies to one of the closest friendships in season 3

they can communicate, they can be vulnerable with one another, and they’ve improved one another substantially

i often tell people that i’m not the biggest fan of iii3 because they almost completely changed nickel’s personality, and i still relatively stand by that, but seeing this version of nickel who is capable of change and development just warms my heart (even if it feels wrong)

this was so so sweet, and i was smiling every second of the elimination (i would say a first but box’s elimination existed too)

something about the magic of seven years. the same idea as getting to the end of the week or god taking seven days to create the earth. noah living on after his seven years of martyrdom as a kind of saint that must be remembered — not necessarily remembering his physical form, but what he meant, what he represents.

something about the tragedy of one young person given in exchange for the rebirth of another. gansey assuming he is the tragedy, assuming he will repeat noah’s same cycle — dying at 17 — but instead coming to see that it was his cycle to break.

tim drake, bruce wayne, and misconceptions

tim is widly believed to be the most like bruce out of all his children. dick is too kind, jason is too angry, damian is too violent. so, through process of elimination we're stuck with tim as Bruce Wayne Part Two. so let's talk about why that's wrong.

(rant below)

to break this argument down we need to first understand why people say what they do about this, and what exactly are they saying?

tim drake is a sleep deprived teenager with a habit of obsession. he pushes away people when they get too close, and his anger is calculated. but arent they all like this..? what makes tim so different? they all become obsessed, sleep deprived, angry in a way most would never consider normal. he pushes people away because he learned to do so from dick, who learned to do so from bruce. they stay in a never ending cycle of pushing people further and further away, until isolation is the only solution.

we're given the never ending argument of "oh well tim is reckless, he doesnt care what happens to him.." but like, do you REALLY think that's true?

he knew something bad could happen, and he decided to take that chance. but at the same time, him being reckless doesnt. make. sense. we all know he lost his spleen, a VERY important organ. the spleen filters blood and fights disease and infection. meaning that without it, tim is MUCH MUCH MUCH more susceptible to infection. so why would he so carelessly get himself hurt when something so simple could kill him? "but steph," i hear you say. "tim doesnt care if he dies, he doesnt care about himself!" oh my friend...

you may be right that he doesnt particularly care about himself, but he DOES care about the people around him.

he loves his young justice friends, as long as it may have taken for him to admit it. this actually plays a part in the differences between him and bruce, he really has friends in and out of costume. i think this is what makes tim so much more well adjusted, what makes him better than bruce in a lot of ways. when something bad happens he doesnt just shut people out, because he knows he has all these people around him, he has all these people that are there for him.

but what happens when all those people are taken away?

this is where tim and bruce are the most similar. all it takes is tim losing everything important to him. like i previously mentioned, tim learned the process of grief and mourning from dick who learnt it from bruce. this is part of why he was so much like bruce at this time. only after losing everything important to him did he become like bruce. he pushes everyone away, he's MISERABLE.

but even here, even now, he's different than bruce. he's faced with the option of murder. and he doesnt, because of course he doesnt. robin would never kill. but.. hes not robin now, is he..? does red robin kill, is he one in the same with red hood? or is it laughing in the face of bruces death, that tim only considers murder when the hero created a victim of it is gone.

either way, he doesnt kill, but red robin stands to question tims morals. because, as has been the theme for the past 15 years, who is tim when hes not robin, nor tim drake? red robin gets to be something seperate from batman, and that's what tim wants. he couldve stayed in gotham with dick-batman, but he trusts dick enough to leave him on his own. to leave gotham.

and i guess that's what tim has been all along. he's the in between of batman and the perfect robin. because objectively he's the perfect robin, but he wasnt given the mantle through love, his career started as a result of death, he became robin to save batman from the same death that caused all of it. he's exploring his in between and i hope, above all, that he finds himself.

after all this, after everything, i hope he gets what he deserves.
