aos book ‘more beautiful than death’ i am having words with you. STRONG words

spoilers obviously

the minor villain in this book is not any vulcan woman. it is tpring. tpring. she has stonn’s katra and her plan is to kill spock and put stonn’s katra in his dead body. which is fucking insane. an awfully stupid plan to carry out ON A STARSHIP. basically when vulcan got exploded (stupidest writing decision i’ve ever encountered) stonn died but tpring was able to get his katra and make her plan. which. honestly for all tpring did in tos i don’t think this fits her character. she was cool and competent and stuck in a situation with only one way out and she took it. she does what she wants but she is not insane, she uses tradition and social standings to her advantage. i love tos tpring, and from what i see of snw tpring i think she’s a great, nuanced character. definitely more than the ‘enraged ex’ schtick she got here. i mean she beats up uhura and sarek and spock and kirk. violently. WHAT. tos tpring is wonderful and she is just so defined to me if that make sense. she’s cunning. she’s looking out for herself. for her to be reduced to a half baked revenge plan that could never work… 🥲 i think tpring being the minor villain COULD work but not like this. she’s smarter than this.

definitely mad about uhura in this mess. she doesn’t get to do much at all in this book and then she gets beat up! brutally i might add! and her and spock’s relationship isn’t very solid imo. i liked them in the aos movies but here all they do is fight n argue. it’s definitely a lack of writing from uhura’s perspective which i felt like this book deserved more of. idk.

idk i just felt that tpring’s inclusion in this book is pretty unfair to her (and to uhura). i get that the point of aos is to have star trek tos characters in face value only; their actual characterizations are often really departed from their tos selves that it makes more sense that they’re alternate timeline people, rather than true reboot people. in that case i guess i think aos tpring is in line with this aos universe, but imo the execution is just bitter and uncaring about her. tos tpring is logical, smart, and above all she knows what she wants. she’s not the insane, mudrerous woman we get in this book.

i think my problem is just with the aos characterizations themselves. i simply do not like them that much and the writing (for the movies) isn’t solid enough to match. (said for the movies because this book is actually solid in terms of alignment with those characters and worldbuilding, and the story itself was good. i just don’t think the aos movies are a good jumping block if that makes any sense)

mostly i’m just complaining to complain. if it had been another vulcan woman i would have posted the bits where she’s beating people up and called her wife because she is ruthless and efficient and the writings fun but tpring? idk it leave a bad taste in my mouth, especially since uhura is underwritten so when spock is fighting tpring the emotional impact is lessened. idk. this is what happens when you don’t write your women well. you get tumblr blogger vulcanhello making callout posts. lmfao

anyways. i will add one thing that i enjoyed, and that was the last page

hey so I've read After The Storm (... repeatedly) and the Midnight Chicken one, but the next two seemed kinda like PWP one-shots and the porny bits are the ones I was least interested in in AtS so I skipped them (and completely missed the third which seems a bit more plot-like?). Only now I really want to know how Rich got to New York and what he's doing there etc. (I guess that is on me for buying from the erotica section, but it was SUCH good hurt/comfort heavy on the comfort and post-traumatic development and juicy future setting...)

So I guess my real question here is: what's the porn:plot (in the loosest sense which includes fluff and parties and character development and world building stuff) ratio in all of these? Should I get them for the plot or would I end up skimming most of them...?

my co-writers should probably chime in on this one but in my opinion:

-learning the ropes: rich learns more about boundaries and limitations. almost entirely sex scenes with a few pauses for negotiations. like 90% sex.

-the art of boytoy maintenance: a look at rich's near-future recovery and a cozy domestic fic during storm docking. almost entirely sex scenes with breaks for recovery and cuddling, 80% sex.

-cross my heart: mitch gets in on the action. mostly sex scenes with breaks for negotiations and heartfelt confessions and so on. 80% sex.

-a taste of new york: a meetcute fic with very frequent sex scenes, interspersed with tourism, meal breaks, some entertainment and misadventures. 60-70% sex.

the sex in this series isn't ever pwp: we do our best to make it a central, crucial part of the story. it's pretty vital for the development of everyone's feelings and characters, though in the first novel you can skim it and you definitely don't HAVE to read the novellas. but still, this is a romance/erotica series, and the novellas (minus the kiddie adventure one) are extremely steamy by design, and employ sex as the main driver of action and progress.

if you don't care for the sex scenes in after the storm that's perfectly fine and im glad the story stands just fine without them! but most of the novellas aren't likely to be to your tastes. the new york fic is the most likely one to have any story left after you skim all the smut, but i genuinely can't guarantee it would be worth it.

the upcoming mega-sized novels we're working on will have much more non-sex story per story, tho! but you're going to have to be patient because they're like more than 200k each and that takes so much editing.

we also have a few more novellas in the works and in planning, one of which is a road trip with katrina and selkies! that one's likely to be gen. ditto the one with a pair of detroit cult escapees, and there might be another young thena story too. all of these are a long way from publishing tho, and we get stuff done in a pretty random order, so. look forward to those! but very, very far forwards. orz

my goals always felt just out of reach. my whole life i feel like i was just passing by the bare minimum. is it really too much to hope for, that maybe i could achieve something that i think is truly amazing?

do you have any resources that one could read on re : bitesports and what ties and origins each sport might have? both for the more iffy things and just overall history. it seems most people into those sports never talk about those aspects of the sports + don't like people questioning things. maybe that's just me, but it's the impression i've gotten and that + the pretty apparent amount of bigots and bootlickers present in those scenes is a big part of why im wary of the whole thing (personally speaking).

Honestly? No, I don't, because I don't think a comprehensive historical analysis of any bite sport exists in any form of published format. You have to understand a lot of this is solely reliant on in-person learning and word-of-mouth and oral history, so what written sources we do have you will need to do a lot of reading inbetween the lines and knowing your human history.

For instance, you'll see a lot of history passages like this: the first Schutzhund trial was held in 1901 as a means of testing the German Shepherd's worthiness as a police and military dog. German Shepherd fanciers worked closely with the police and military within Germany at the time to continue to closely cultivate the breed's temperament, eventually proving them to be successful war dogs. In WWII, American soldiers brought several captured dogs back to the country, adding them to the United States military.

Okay. So. Read between the lines here and piece together what you know about what was happening in Germany in WWI and WWII. You're almost assuredly not going to find any bitework-specific material that blatantly says "German Shepherds were Nazi dogs" except maybe in Nazi-branded propaganda published in German within Germany during the war, which the Germany of today has done its best to bury within the confines of time. But... "worked closely with police and military" "proven successful war dogs" "American soldiers captured off the battlefield during WWII" uhhhhhh that means...

Similarly you're not going to find any specific source that says "South American dobermans were specifically Nazi dogs" but if you know your human history then you'd also know that Nazis fleeing punishment for their war crimes went into hiding in South America and many took their dogs and other sources of German pride with them, and if you know your doberman lines you also would know that South America is one of the only continents that still uses dobermans in their police and military widespread to this day because the dogs are known to be incredibly sharp, defensive, and unpredictable, much like the original temperament of the breed.

It is what is not being said that you need to pay attention to, because no one is going to specifically call it out. Whether out of shame, or fear, or even as a means of hiding their own bigotry.

So I had this thought months ago that I wanted a fan shirt (I can't remember at the time if this was 1 Fandom in particular or if it started as multiple)

So with the audacity I got from my dad that I can try any craft/ diy and the millennial knowledge that I can just youtube it I decided to embroider a shirt

So I bought a shirt on Amazon (I was looking for a "football shirt" is what at the time I called it but idk if that is right so...) and I picked up some embroidery floss (big question why I bought a pack of mostly green when I got a black shirt and was going to use white floss.... 🤷‍♀️)

So that done comes the real conflict.... what am I embroidering?.....

So I think originally I was going to just make it a Fandom shirt so like any Fandom I was part of or liked... (now it is just a book/ webcomic shirt) but how am I listing them?

Once I started thinking out it I switched to couples and then it changed to include books but that brought even more questions...

So if it's couples do I go by ship name? But some of the books I wanted to use aren't big enough to have a ship name...

So like the couple ao3 tag? But I really don't want to embroider Alex and Henry’s full names....

Just first names? For some reason there is a lot of Alex's (tho now that im thinking about i think the only name that repeated was Charlie) and also what about legal name vs. nickname?

I'd just go with nicknames but what if the couples call each other but their legal name (malec) or they use a different name (zimbits)?

(At some point I switched this to just being books - originally the only webcomics I was including were also published but I added Castle Swimmer at the last moment without thinking so....)

Just use the series name! ... but most of the series names are just the MCs first name... and I'm not reping the entire Like Us series just Marrow...

I tested out doing a little bit of each but I got a little mad at the uneven distribution and I had strong opinions on what I wanted some of them to be ( I love the firstprince ship name but for this project I really wanted to use the title)

I starred doing more planning related to placement and decided to just go with book titles and for series just the first book in the series. (Tho I did use just Tortall and I was a little mad about losing London Calling to Boyfriend Material and I really thought about leaving Captive Prince as Capri)

Once all the planning was done I... actually had to do the thing...

I'm glad I got stabilizer that was washable and worked in my printed so it just took a few tries to get the size correct and I could start

(And then restart after doing a quick Google search on the best way to embroider letters)

It was pretty easy, tho it did take awhile and would have taken longer if I was being really careful about following exact letter shape and stitch length. ....it also didn't help that Poppy realized embroidery floss was an OK sub for yarn to play with...

I did *cough* wait to wash any of the stabilizer off until the very end.... There was a cat in the sink when I finished the first one! It wasn't a problem tho because it washed out super easy and looks great!

... as I was taking the pics I realized i spelled Castle Swimmer wrong 😅 so maybe I'll just cut that one out later...

But overall I'm really happy with it and there is definitely room to add more when I want :) (tho I will have to remember what font and size I used because I was dumb and didn't save that...)

Summer wedding: Thanksgiving before the separation drabble

He goes to grt the biggest.

"What are you doing?"

"What its a turkey? Go big or go home."

"How about go big and have to wake up at 3 am to cook it."

"Oh," he thought for a second "but I want to give you and Maya the best Thanksgiving ever so that's fine."

"Ari and what are we going to do with the leftovers? "

"Who said anything about leftovers?" he was rubbing his stomach. 

"Fine but when you're bloated and gassy don't come to me complaining. "

I still grabbed him some Tums and gas-x and some kid medicine for Maya just incase. 

"Ok" I said as Ari wrapped his hands around my shoulders,

"We got Turkey, stuffing, pie cranberry sauce and real cranberries, corn muffin mix, we can just buy them you know."

"No I am making it."

Thank god I didn't tell Ari about making your own stuffing then we'd probably never eat. And I was also smart enough to tell him cranberry sauce is just mushed cranberries and sugar and that half the fun is how it comes out in the shape of a can  "Gravy don't its my favorite gravy you can make yours too from whatever but just in case, biscuits, butter and  We just need ice cream and cookie dough."

"Ice cream and cookie dough?"

"Yea me and Maya need to eat something before you finish cooking. 

Maya flew in the night before Thanksgiving and she was so excited to experience a "real American Thanksgiving." It was practically impossible to get her to bed. But after three stories and if your father doesn't get to sleep now so he can wake up, well never eat explication she closed her eyes.

I layed back in bed tired I thought Ari was too but he has this smile.

"What are you so happy about?" I turned on my side to face him. 

"I've got everyone I love under one roof.  You're happy,  Maya's happy. What else could a man want?"

Ari was happy. He wasn't sure how he ever found love again but he did and it was even stronger. He was happy just holding her pinkie. There was something about her smile that just made him feel fulfilled, whole. And holding her was heaven all the nightmare about bullets and prisons, holding her just eased it all away into oblivion. 

He gave her a kiss, "you tired?" 

"Yes" she giggled and rolled her eyes. "Your daughter is right down the hall and you have to get up early did yiu set the alarm.

"Yes" he rolled his eyes 

"Don't. I want to eat before 9pm and trust me that's happened. And you know I get hangry." 

Ari turned on his side with a smirk.but really her hangery… she should join mossad though, things would get done faster.

"What are you doing?" 

"Going to sleep like you asked" he sighed.

"Two can play that game" she thought. 

"You always hold me." She said with a whimper and sniffle.

He turned over with an immediate "babe come here im sorry."

"He was too easy," she thought h. But it's true he'd walk over hot coals for her without a thought. He pulled her in close and gave her another kiss.

"You knew I was only teasing baby right?"

"Well I was hoping."

He was just studying her face for a moment or two swiping his thumb across her cheek before wrapping his arm around her waist. 

"What?" She asked with a bit of a smile.

"You're so beautiful. I love you so much you know that right?" He was sincere and she was blushing.

"Ari where is this coming from?"

"I just feel so happy, blessed to have my , my family under one roof. I'm just-"

There was a knock on the door 

"Glad we just kissed aren't 'cha." He rolled his eyes but she was right. 

"You can come in sweetheart."

"Abba I had a nightmare. A giant turkey was chasing me."

"Oh no!  Well I can promise you there are no turkeys around here.  Minus your father. He's a big 'ol turkey."

"I thought we were having turkey tomorrow."

"We are but its all ready to be cooked ok no turkeys are alive in the state."

"You promise?"

"I promise."

Ari watched the scene gaining from ear to ear as he played with his girlfriends hair. She being used to it didn't pay any attention but this family scene made him happy. So happy.  Maya felt comfortable seeing comfort in his girlfriend not just with him. 

"You want someone to tuck you back in?"

"No I'm ok as long as you promise no yurkey."

"No turkeys."

"Goodnight Maya 

"Goodni-" was all Ari could get out before Maya closed the door. 

"Well I'm insulted."

"She likes me better"

Ari smirked as she stuck her tongue out. 

"Not too fond of your attitude"

"Oh yea you gunna fix it?"

"No I've got a turkey to cook. I need my sleep." He crossed his arms

"What hey I thought we were cuddling."

"Sorry babe come here." He opened his arms and she rushed close to his heart. She loved hearing his heart beat.  It was slow and soothing. And Ari couldn't sleep without her warmth the way her lips just brush against the base of his neckline at time or how her hand had seemed to lay claim to his body as he would never move it once she had fallen asleep. Holding her was something he  could never give up. He watched for sleep for a while and then pulled her closer.

"Ari go to sleep" she sounded a bit drunk but she always did she when she said this in the middle of the night. Somehow she always knew when his mind needed to be told to rest. So he kissed her forehead.

"Yes my love" she smiled and with that he went to sleep. And he'd need it because the next day he really regretted buying the biggest turkey.

i read the tags you wrote about millie in a post yesterday (i think you deleted the post because i cant find it now) and i just wanted to say im glad theres someone who shares similar thoughts as me. i love millie but i cant even say anything on twitter without her toxic stans accusing me of misogyny and insulting her intelligence, even though thats not my intention.

if byler is canon, how do you think she’ll feel about it? im asking because your perspective is interesting! i think shes going to take it a bit personally because she strongly relates to her character and wants el to be on the same path as her (like getting married young). its understandable though, considering her upbringing.

!! I actually took it off my blog because the other day I resolved the issue of my tags not archiving—but when it got resolved, my blog ended up square in the middle as “top blogs” with the full mlvn name tag because I hadn’t been abbreviating their ship in the tag I used before ☠️ that said, I changed the tag to “anti mlvn” so I could keep myself out of mlvn corners, but a lot of the recent posts that I kept under the old tag are gone or private until tumblr tracks the change—hence the missing post!

Still...me and that tag rant was giving “why would you say something so controversial, yet so brave” for sure (lmao), though I certainly meant it less as a comment on her life decisions themselves and more a "I can tell by the decisions you make as a creator, producer of other films, and in general that you are not The Duffer Brother's target audience, but a lot of your fans can't" kind of way...which is still controversial in several corners of this fandom for sure. 😭

Like, yes, she does play a principal character in the show, but playing a character does not mean the character is modeled to you as a person—just look at Emilia Clarke playing Daenerys Targaryen, Anthony Hopkins playing Hannibal Lecter, or even Rachel McAdams playing Regina George lmao.

Despite playing El since she was a child, as Millie has come into adulthood it's become clearer that she is very different from El—and that The Duffers aren't creating Eleven's arc with Millie's own "coming of age" in mind. Her choices to create things like Enola Holmes, Damsel, and even Nineteen Steps (her new book) showing up as sharp contrasts to not only the women in Stranger Things, but in all of The Duffer's upcoming work on Death Note, The Talisman and The Boroughs prove that well enough, which would be zero problem at all...if a lot of her fans didn't conflate Millie with El is as a character.

To your point though...I honestly don't think Millie is going to be all that personally upset if El ends up single and Byler happens—she's already made clear that she loves El, but is ready to move on and tell other stories and that she would have written the story as a high school drama if she was in control of the direction of the plot (while pointing out that she's not the one in control of it) lol.

Even what she said recently in an widely published and official Seventeen interview shows that she's really just here to finish the story and move on with her career—that she's ready for her role as El (and the drama I'm 10000% sure comes with that) to be done:

At least to me, all of that makes it seem like she is a level-headed young woman who can handle her character not being aligned with how she would live her own life—and will, when the time comes.

That said: imo the real problem is that fans of MBB are confusing Millie's own "I can be young, strong and still have a man" creative and life choices with El's "I am overcoming the bounds men have put on me to become strong by myself" storyline, which only becomes an issue when Millie jokes about things like mlvn getting married—

—and (by nature of being an influential celebrity) ends up with fans who mistake Millie's headcanons (because...honestly that's what they are) based on what she enjoys in fiction as what The Duffers are writing & planning for the ending of Stranger Things.

Basically: as an actress, it's literally MBB's job to bring life to stories that don't necessarily reflect her own values or desires, and she knows it—but because she's been playing the character on people's screens so long (and from a young age) a lot of fans have issues separating the woman from the fiction and recognizing that (as Adam Driver once said) it's not Millie's job to have a feeling about or even agree with who El is as a person—it's her job to bring El & The Duffer's vision to life, even if her life informs how she plays the role.

None of that is particularly Millie's fault (though she, like Noah sometimes, adds fuel to fandom fire with the jokes she makes lmao), though it does get irritating to navigate when you're constantly subjected to arguments rooted in nothing but headcanons when trying to make sense of The Duffer's work itself lmao.

TL;DR - Mills joking about El and Mike getting married feels the same as someone here putting their headcanon out into the world about married & domestic Byler—only, because she's the face of Eleven + has now gotten engaged young herself, people misinterpret her own "cute headcanons" as canonical fact, leaving people who love the actual canon + who enjoy the 'style of womanhood' the Duffers write to arguing with people who misunderstand the actual characters.

Millie is a woman whose had a complicated relationship with celebrity and fame since she was a very young girl, and she has certainly made different decisions than I have (and likes different fiction than I do)—but that has nothing to do with her intelligence or ability to respond gracefully to the character she's played since 12 turning out differently than she would have imagined it if she had written El herself. If and when Byler happens, I'm sure she will meet the reality of it with respect and consideration, even if her fans (and hardcore fans of mlvn) don't lmao.

Hopefully that explains it (and doesn't get me shot for saying lmao). But thanks for the ask!

Also what you said in your tags about older fanfics — so true that sometimes it’s hard to figure out if something's “popular” (defining as high kudos/comments count) because it is from Ye Olden Fandom days and/or continuously got new chapters (and thus, comments) over time or if it's really. a fandom classic. Either way the MLB fandom has a bunch of amazing and talented writers and we're lucky to have so much (diverse in genre and style) material in both canon and especially fandom! And I hope you can publish your WIP(s?) soon, I loved the snippets you posted!!!

(And btw this is absolutely not meant to shit on popular fics!!! To me personally it’s sometimes hard to enjoy a story that’s set in canonverse but at this point in time diverges so much from canon, because canon has, logically, expanded since 2016; but like I said one of the upsides of a large fandom is that there's something for everyone)

About the Fan/OC-DMC Comic I mentioned in my previous post.

HEY FRIENDS! IT'S BEEN A MONTH SINCE I LAST POSTED LOL. I haven't posted because I got sick for about a week, then got busy with helping one of my siblings with moving equipment between different studios for another week. Then, I caught up with a few friends that I hadn't interacted with since forever and played some games with them. But now I'm back!

First of all, I want to say THANK YOU for the follows, the likes, and the... REBLOGS- THATS WHAT YOU CALL THEM, RIGHT? I really appreciate them!!! I literally jogged around my room when I saw someone like my post, or i see a new follower or a new reblog. Like for real, I start cheesing really hard, huehuehue.

(There may be some repeats from my previous posts for the users who have seen it)

I originally planned to release some pages around the first week of June, but there were a change of plans. The remaining time i had was going to be me practicing drawing certain demons from the game, certain backgrounds that I am not used to drawing (especially if it's indoors. But then again, i did mention that this little comic will just be for fun and practice/experiment before my big project.) But since plans have changed, I have training/school starting the first week of June. And then having to go to family events, and then having to fly over to Las Vegas sometime between mid-end of June for about a week. So that whole month is technically screwed, and the official date will be around the first week of July, most likely the first Sunday of that month. Too lazy to check calendar. But i mean yay! More time to practice! So yeah, by July, I should be accustomed to my school schedule and have at least a few pages done by then.

I was thinking of another platform to publish this stuff on, because Tumblr is the only one I've thought of publishing so far. I don't know yet.

What to expect from the comic

- The theme will be a little dark. (I mean it's in a Devil May Cry Universe... but, you know...) But I don't mean as in blood and demons and stuff (of course we will have that lol) but more of an angst kind of thing? If that's the right word? You'll see what I mean when I talk about the sections/parts of this little comic

-This background comic will come in 3 parts (like seasons in an anime LOL. Yes, when I say background, I mean BACKGROUND. But don't worry, I won't drag it. Trust.) The first part will show how the humans that Ezra is surrounded with use the game's orbs. Orbs of all colors of the damn rainbow, baby! It will have mentions of a certain protagonist that all of us have heard or read the name before and mention a certain antagonist that we may have fought against... then the second part, more mentions of certain antagonists that we know. The last part/part 3, the appearance of certain protagonists and antagonists. Of course, all parts will have enemies/demons and flashy moments because what would be about Devil May Cry without their demons and they stylish thangs!? Lol

-The present/after part 3 will be when Ezra officially interacts with Dante's crew and joins the crew. (Right before DMC 5 events)

-I don't want to mess around with the canon story too much, but I have been reading things that majority of players wished were added into the game or hope to add in the next game. For example: more lore, certain character-developments. Interactions between specific characters, return of other characters from past games/manga. But I know if I'm going to do this, then I'm going to have to do it right. Which is why im glad that I still have until July to plan this whole thing out. I know this fan/oc comic is not official/canon, but I still want to make it enjoyable and execute it right so readers can enjoy it. I might have to read the mangas again and replay the games so I can have a better grasp of what should be added into this mini comic.

-I do have to mention that I do in fact ship my boy Ezra with a certain canon character of the game. Try to guess who it is! Hey- you're technically cheating if you look at my profile picture... cheater!

Although you guys have been okay/open/welcoming about my ship in my last post so far- or well, nobody has said something against it (which is why im starting to love this app, I love you guys), I know certain users can have different opinions when shipping an OC with a canon character. That's why I'll be adding the -more- bar so users who are not interested don't have to bleach their eyes after witnessing my drawings of Ezra-and if you havent guessed it yet- Vergil being hella gay (jk I'm too shy to draw romantic stuff like kissing and all that jazz- i giggle, and such a sucker for romance JKJK ugh end me pls), but for real, they can just scroll by without a glimpse of this kind of trope(? Is that what you'd call it?)

Anyway, for those who are either not okay with oc shipping with a canon character or just not okay with Male x Male (Boys' Love type), then I guess your stop is here. This. This is the peak of their relationship. I know we are far from that moment, but I kinda can't wait to get to it. But at the same time, I'm glad we are far from it because I fear whether I executed this moment right or not. I hope I don't disappoint you guys when that time comes.

i can't imagine how tiring it must be to chase down the people that steal your work to post them on other sites, trying to get the stolen work taken down or at least the credit that you rightfully deserve. i'll miss the drabbles of course, but i'd much rather have a star who isn't drained and tired chasing after these thieves <3 the stuff i write are drabble length i think? 1k-3k words, and even though i'm a smaller writer on this app, the possibility that my work could be stolen is always in the back of my mind.

I started replaying ffxiii trilogy in a fit of nostalgia and it reignited my passions for cairai like no other. Decided to go back to ff to reread the fics there since the fandom is kinda dead, and now that im over a decade older than before at 24, i finally have the brainpower to read longform fics 🤣.... and i just wanted to tell you that i have read all your cairai fics in a span of a week and a half. Like, being behind in work paperwork kind of fic devouring. Like, the kind where i have a tab open the entire workshift and quickly minimize it when my bosses walk past. Like, the kind where i go back on tumblr for the first time in like 5 years only to tell you how amazing your writing is to me and that i cant believe the devs didnt reach out to you to write LR instead. If you ever write more cairai i will be FULLY SEATED— fully prepared for you to have me giggling and kicking my feet over their slowburn all the way to staring at each line in terror as you traumabond them through the horrors woven into your worldbuilding.

It sounds like you read Final Fantasy Suscitatio XIII, and you'll probably be glad to know that I'm completely rewriting/redoing it and publishing it on AO3 as a "Definitive Edition". All the works on my AO3 require an account to view due to the proliferation of AI scraping, but I do plan to release it soon!

And being a "decade older"? I feel that. My entire perspective has changed on pretty much everything about writing since the last time I touched longfic, and I've gone from drenching all my romance in melodrama to being able to deal with subtleties. Caius and Lightning's relationship actually benefits quite a lot from subtlety, and being able to use that in this new version of the fic has done a lot to improve its overall structure. I'm glad to hear you have more "brainpower", because you'll need it! I also hope to write some very self-indulgent Cairai nonsense in the near future that has nothing to do with Suscitatio. Hmm... perhaps I can become a prolific writer once more? One can dream...

Also, I love worldbuilding, so seeing you mention it? LOVE IT. Happy to know I still got it! *tired cheer*

Long) BUT I read it a little while ago and I loved it!, I don't normally see fanfics that touch the topic of that ruins specifically (I had seen like, one other and that's it) but I really liked it! I loved that Time & Wild bonding, how Time was sad Wild was alone in his adventure and also Time reaction at hearing Gerudo Town was a big town really hurt and Wild just answering they rest of the poblation was dead that HURT, I loved it, thank you for writing 🩷🩷🩷 (btw, I think you had noticed I love everything Twilight and Wild, so, even that little interaction of Wild calling Wolfie a traitor really made me laugh xd)

Now, would the ranch have lasted THAT long uhhh shhh don’t think about it to hard. Suffice to say it LOOKS similar enough that Time’s first thought is going to be his home and Malon, destroyed. That’s probably one of his darker fears; that while he’s gone on this journey do the Goddess something will happen to the ranch. Black-blooded monsters he won’t reach in time and he’ll come home to…nothing.

THANKFULLY I’m not writing that lol.

Time is all stoic and group leader-y and sometimes I struggle to get him to unbend enough to interact with Wild. Wild tends to stick to his comfort, safe people, which means Wolfie right now and Hyrule. We will have many more Wolfie/Twi chapters in the future! I try to balance them out to a point but…I got favorites to write about 🤷🏼‍♀️

Now I’m thinking it would be fun to do a Wild and Wolfie adventure with a very feral Wild in his world…have you read In A Mockery of Recollection? I guess that’s just feral Wild related though, not Wild and Wolfie. There’s not THAT many focused on the two of them which is too bad! I like to think that Wild and Wolfie bring out different sides of each other than Wild and Twilight. Hopefully that will make their relationship richer down the line. Also, I like more of a friendship between them and less of Twilight acting like a “parent” because they aren’t that far apart in age. Wild’s a gremlin but he’s not stupid!
