when i first watched the finale i thought kendall being all like “oh i have stewy don’t even worry about it” was him just doing his usual false confidence inflated ego bullshit but like looking back i don’t think that’s it. stewy always goes back to him. he always goes back to stewy. it’s just how they are. he knows stewy. stewy likes pancakes and waffles, and he kisses guys on molly, and kendall knows him, and those are facts of life. stewy will put up a fake fight, and tell his guy to say no, and not answer kendall’s calls, but at the end of the day he will wind up right back in that office.

similarly, kendall will refuse stewy’s help, and ignore his texts, and give him the cold shoulder, but eventually he ends up on his doorstep. when you are this intertwined with someone, knowing and loving and hating become almost interchangeable terms. they look like separate paths but in the end they all lead home. back to each other.

so the “i have stewy” “no you dont” “yeah i do” exchange wasn’t just kendall getting too confident; he meant it. just like kendall could run around asking a million different people for help before eventually returning to stewy, stewy would pretend to consider his options before returning to kendall. both of them know there was never any competition, they were always gonna wind up back with each other. but they play the game anyway.

AND there is no reason toothless would fall for her. First of all, they aren’t the same species. They’re subspecies. Like lions and tigers. And yes, lions and tigers can mate, but they don’t naturally and really shouldn’t. They’re offspring often has a hard time surviving outside of captivity. Toothless also would not abandon Hiccup, especially not for some random ass dragon that literally tried to blast his skinny butt into oblivion.

ok enough venting, here’s my honest opinion: if they really wanted a female fury, they should’ve just made her a nightfury. cut the lightfury bullshit. if they wanted her to stand out, make her albino instead of a subspecies. That’s all they had to do. But nope 😔. Dreamworks wanted money and a quick way to end the series. And that’s what they got.

when i read good omens for the first time, it fucking rewired my brain. it wasn’t just the plot, or the great jokes, or the excellent characters. it was the way that the narration acknowledged that the satanic nuns, like most religious people, largely went through the rites of religion without thinking about it too much. it was the way some kids made the decision to overcome the horsemen representing the downfall of humanity and convinced their friend that he could choose beyond the role assigned to him at birth. it was how said friend chose the people who loved him and were there for him over the zealous authority figures who didn’t even know why they were doing what they were doing. it was because there was a demon and an angel who loved humanity more than their respective causes. it was because the book said “You know what? Most people lead ordinary lives, and that’s perfectly fine” and that meant so much to me then, and it still does

Life update: We’re engaged! This weekend, at the Botanic Gardens, I asked @keshavomit to marry me. I quoted a lot of her old fic reviews in my proposal, and she cried a lot. I’m forever grateful to the ToG fandom for bringing her into my life.
