Reminder: You can draw and write things that can't exist in real life.
You can draw a dog in space if you want to, and you don't owe anyone an explanation for why it's in space or how it can survive without a space suit.
You can draw perspective that doesn't make sense. Your art is allowed to defy reality and canon. You can change chronological rules, write crossovers that break spacetime, and make AUs that don't make sense without having to explain how or why. You can draw characters in nonsensical scenerios, doing things they'd never do and saying things they'd never say, and you don't have to apologize or justify yourself. You can draw heroes being unusually angsty and irredeemable villains being soft and cuddly with NO regard for whether it would "actually ever happen in the story"
The kitchen in Leblanc is tiny. Their elbows bump and every time Akira schools his body into obeisance, a calm so structured it must be suspicious. Sojiro says nothing, not about curry or school or anything else, and Akira is grateful, always is, for the way Sojiro allows him to exist. Even in the first days, when it was only starting to warm up - even then, Sojiro did not look at him like some toxic thing with dripping teeth. Well, he did a little. Less so, each day passed that Akira was Akira, and not a snake.
He probably always knew. School didn't call, so Sojiro never kicked him out, and somewhere along the way he must have changed his mind about justice. "What's with the chocolate?" he asks, and Akira delights in telling him, "It's for the curry."
Sojiro tries it, and likes it enough to give him a smile.
This dream gave me the lore that merfolk could turn humans into merfolk by giving them this enchanted bread. The thing about this bread is that it smelled so good that anyone who was forced to partake lost their ability to resist.
Other less important parts of this dream:
- being forced to eat the bread myself cuz I knew/learned something I wasn’t supposed to
- tests of courage/ability
- merhunter be crazy
- feeding frenzy that I don’t have in dream context for - only saw it from a far
