One thing I really appreciated in Sunrise on the Reaping was how it addressed the questions of "what if we all just refused to kill each other" and "what if everyone else simply banded together against the Careers." It's so different to what we see take place in the 10th and 74th Games. The entire Newcomers strategy is something that would probably have seemed like a ludicrous impossibility to Katniss and the other 74th Games tribute at that point in the event's history. But SOTR argues that actually all it takes to form that kind of an alliance is the slightest human connection before the games begin. Maysilee helping everyone with their tokens. Haymitch sharing 12's extra lunches after the Careers' steal them from other districts. Ampert being sure to include everyone in his alliance proposal. That's all it takes for these kids to go, "we can't kill each other." And instead they band together and fight and die for one another instead of against each other, and it's not about who's the strongest or what each person can bring to the table, just the base agreement between all of them that all of their lives have value. And the best part is that you really believe they would have seen it through, too. When they discuss what they'd do if they actually managed to kill every Career and conclude they'd just have to let the Gamemakers weed them out from there, you do believe that's what they'd have done. When Maysilee and Haymitch decide they need to find Wellie, when they agree she could paint the poster, too, it's such a beautiful moment because, yeah! Really any of these kids could have done it!! And all of them would have been willing to try.

one night, freshly turned louis feeds from lestat and he drinks so much that lestat carefully cradles his head in both of his big palms and gently pulls him away from his neck "mon cher, i have no more to give", he doesn't want to stop him but he's feeling faint and hungry again "I will go feed and come back home to you, saint louis"

in response louis looks up at him with big round eyes that hold so much hurt in them, lestat said he would take care of him, so why is he stopping him from feeding from him? he promised that he would give him the world so why can't he give him this? and now he wants to leave louis alone to go hunt..?

lestat obviously isn't privy to louis' thoughts anymore but he can see the glassiness that covers his eyes, he can see the sad frown on his face, he notices the way louis is looking at him but not really seeing him and decides that he won't can't leave him alone in this state

so he gathers louis further into his arms, pulls him onto his lap and holds him throughout the rest of the night, occasionally rubbing a hand down his back as if he's comforting a frightened puppy, and peppers kisses on his forehead, nose and cheeks because louis' makes a cute lil sound every single time that he does

When louis eventually comes back to himself he's a bit embarrassed by his actions and tries to pull away but lestat doesn't let him ofc, he holds him tighter and tells louis how sweet he was for him "louis you never told me just how much you liked my blood" he says, his smile evident in his voice

by the time sunrise comes, they have made their way to the coffin and louis is snuggled up to lestat with his face once again in his neck (this is louis comfort place), lestat has his arms wrapped tightly around him and just like that, completely surrounded by each other they fall into a deep sleep.

I just wanted to ask how do you deal with liking a character when they have done atrocious, inhumane things. I've been an IWTV fan since last year and sometimes I find myself struggling with the morality of it all. When I find myself empathising with a character sometimes I can't help but think about the terrible things they have done.

I know they're fictional and the whole discourse around it but I wanted to know from you how you deal with the whole moral side of it?

There is no moral dilemma exploring dark topics in fiction. On the contrary, fiction has always been used to hold the mirror up on all but especially the ugly parts of humanity.

This is no different.

The characters go through it to hold the mirror up - and the show grabbed us by the neck to make us look.

That‘s all there is to it.

So I actually sat down to watch the BBC special of TT Boybands Forever cause I was really interested after the way Robbie talked about Gary being stitched up and also I just love watching this kinda stuff just finished the Boyzone Documentary. Let's just say I have thoughts - I'm going to put them in the tags (and I had a lot of thoughts). I'd say it's worth watching yourself and making your own opinion.

I do wish Tim would think before he speaks. Yeah let's just throw out in an interview "I don't want to suggest that we're going down some road we're not actually going down". Real clever. I swear sometimes he just wants to cause chaos. People are gonna freak about that and doomspiral buddie off the cards 😒

I get where you're coming from, but I can also look at this from his point of view. He's the showrunner and of course he wants to keep things 'mysterious'. He isn't going to come out in an interview and say that Buddie is surely happening. 🤷‍♀️

There will always be people who will spiral and even doomspiral. Nothing new there.🤷‍♀️ It's what showrunners want. To keep people at the edge of their seats, to keep them guessing. They thrive on that suspence.

But whatever, you know? The show itself is clearly telling us a love story and I'm just following the clues we are getting. I'm not getting lost in the interviews, because no one will ever tell us the truth in those.

People with eyes who watch the show can clearly see where the narrative is going. And yeah, it is going where we all want it to go: eventual Buddie canon. I do think we are in for a bumpy ride though. Knowing Tim, the road to Buddie canon is going to be one with detours. But I'll be here for every single one of them, because I know what lies at the end of that road. 😏🙂‍↕️

i do find it interesting that the lucky one is like. "you asked for this, you worked for this, and when it became awful you were able to leave with dignity" and clara bow is like "you taken advantage of and misled and even in death you will not be able to escape fame"

Going with a classic - Esteban for the character opinion bingo?

Hes so interesting to me because I both don't like him and like him at the same time. He is indeed a pretty horrible person like I'm watching him and mentally I am shaking him by the shoulders like GET A GRIP!!! YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING IS STUPID AND YET YOU DO IT ANYWAY!!!! STOPPPPPP!!!!

Like girl not only do i not know what side you wanna be on, it seems YOU don't either!!! like girl you don't want to hurt Elena but you steal her scepter?? You don't wanna hurt anyone but you're actively on the villains side girlie be fr. I'm starting to see hesitancy tho when he does literally anything so maybe...? We shall see.

I also like his new s3 design but GOD the swoop was NOT necessary. I'm sorry that haircut was NOT lit. I LOVE the outfit tho the lightning bolt theme is so fire and I LOVE sparkles yall like the sparkles are so cool. But the hair ruins it, they should kept the s1-2 hair and changed only the outfit. But I get why they changed the hair. Makes him look less tamed.

His character arc is cooking so hard and I will post my reaction to the finale when I reach it but I'm literally so close to it. I am in that final stretch and I swear every episode that has the plot in it is like watching a drama show fr fr.

I like him enough that yesterday night I just went and started a new fanfiction WIP (it's like an au ish situation based on a few hcs i have).

I feel like they're should explore his motivations more. Ok, you felt invisible, but is that really it? Surely that's not the only thing that drives him to help a dictator up to the throne?? There has to be more???

Like i don't condone his actions at all tho. Like half of them fucking suck when you consider he's literally repeating the shit he did 41 years ago but like. with a new gang. Be fr. The gang does NOT change that you still are siding with them?!

I genuinely need to understand him so bad if not for my benefit than for the sake of film analysis. And by understand him I don't mean make up for his actions but I'd like to see the inner reasoning there.

Honestly i need to get to the episode where Elena forgives him because I need to see how that goes down. Raaaa I can't wait to see where they take his character but one thing I am sure of is that if he gets forgiveness I fucking hope they still acknowledge in the show that you can't really push away the fact that Esteban still (semi)directly caused Elena's parents to die and a 41 yr authoritarian rule. I'm still not over those two things like that will stick in the back of my mind forever I fear.

Yet somehow despite this i miiiiiight be obsessed with him. I do not think I've ever hated and loved a character simultaneously like this.
