gone headcanons that have popped into my unhinged little brain, part 6

hey there, so since i’ve been rereading the series/writing this fic i’ve had nothing but hc/theory brainrot so you’ll only be getting hc posts for a while. we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled program of incorrect quotes at some point i promise

this first (technically first two) hc isn’t something i induct into my thinking all the time it’s just a thought that i enjoy no matter how sad it is

caine’s parents had always struggled with having children, so they ended up adopting caine instead. they moved to london (where caine’s mother is from) for a few years because they feared connie, who was still young, would come back for him. he slips into a british accent sometimes when he’s angry (i just think this sounds funny can you imagine british caine)

caine’s mother fell pregnant a few years later and they managed to keep the baby. the second the baby, named chloe, was born, caine was sent to coates immediately so they could focus on doting on their “real” child. now that they had a biological child, he was rendered useless in their eyes.

astrid has scary good skin care. girl has never had a pimple in her LIFE.

since they lived together (+ sam) post fayz, diana helped astrid write her book. astrid only knew so much from her point of view, and diana helped her fill in the blanks from the other side of the court.

caine’s a ridiculously picky eater. he will push his food around and make sure none of it touches before he’ll eat it. very particular about what he will and won’t eat. this is because he’s ridiculously autistic.

also hates crust. diana and drake used to take turns eating his crust at coates

alternatively, sam is a human vacuum. he will eat quite literally anything you put in front of him because and i quote, “food is food”.

drake is afraid of butterflies. he thinks they’re gross. i have no basis for this ink and i just think it’s funny

caine’s favourite colour is yellow. him owning that yellow vest was not a coincidence.

alternatively, diana’s is a royal purple and drakes is (suprising no one) red.

caine is super squeamish, despite his constant need for war. hates blood, hates all kinds of bugs. he took one look at that’s bugs face during the bug battle in plague and was ready to book it.

drake really wanted to die in a super fucked up and for his case to go unsolved so he could end up on buzzfeed unsolved. he was disappointed when he realised his immortality probably prevented that.

drake’s a complete feral in snow. he absolutely adores snow. it’s the only time anyone sees him act like an actual well adjusted person (sort of). he turns into an excited child when it snows

OK got around to new episodes finally so volume viii thoughts:

i guess starting with, has casa always been this long??? maybe I'm just bored this time around? Or it's just the amount of challenges and dates they've thrown in?? (it's the latter)

I tapped through the whole moangate thing as quickly as I could because it's so boring. I can't believe there are at least two separate times they ask you to pay gems if you want the tea on the topic and I simply couldn't care less. But like it also feels like the Brad and Christy stuff and then also the Rachel stuff and the OGs love triangle or whatever, and at least some of it gives you insight on the characters, but it never really comes up and there's enough in the main story to come up with your opinions on the characters imo.

Emel getting on my nerves again. Talked about this last time, it feels odd and I don't love having every woman that's not an LI be an enemy for MC and also stuck in a shitty couple, but not completely out of character given her personality I guess, so not the worse thing fusebox has done. However, I am slowly coming around on this because actually it does feel like such a thing on love island where you watch a character you like and slowly you get annoyed by them and they do weird shit that makes you mad but it's partly because they're forced to be around these people 24/7 with cameras watching and everything. Like that's the Stanford Prison Experiment part of Love Island, so like... I'll accept it 😂😂

Anyway so dates! My MC was with Shawn who I got kind of sick of during the date, which was so funny for me personally because his hobbies are like movies and cooking, which are my hobbies. He's also very chill and serious, which is also my personality. And he's from the U.S. So. Maybe he's too much like me irl I wasn't about it.

So the date was meh because I just kept having MC pick the non flirty options and she was kind of cold, but from what I see from everyone else, the date was pretty good and I'm glad. It is weird though that at the end of it, MC gets the option to say she's not interested, and Shawn keeps trying to save it. Like the islanders talk about their dates afterward and he says their date was great and can't wait to see where they'll go moving forward. And MC is just nonplussed when Emel starts gushing about him and he's uncomfortable, trying to stay on MC's radar, but my MC couldn't give a shit.

And I understand it's to make the branching easier, but I just keep thinking like,,, if only it was S2, because then it'd be like the Lottie going after Gary storyline. Like I can't remember fully, but in my head it plays out slightly differently whether MC is flirting with Gary or not. Either way, Lottie is a little upset at MC, but sometimes she has reason to be.

Date with CLAUDIA however, went very well. I was giggling to myself because like the conversation was very forward and cute and Claudia is thinking about them moving in together and stuff? Adorable. (Actually I can't remember if this was in this date or one of the other scenes, but the fact that there's so many scenes with the female LIs being so forward is great).

Also the Bea and Claudia tension?? Like I feel like we either get one female LI or the female LIs constantly swapping out once you pick one, so the fact that they're both fighting over MC is very cool. I love a good love triangle. And it does make me want to replay with a Bea route, because I think she's so cute too. Both her sprite and her personality, and she does feel like a different character from Claudia, versus Chloe vs Bella vs Flo that all kind of have similar plotlines and therefore have a similar shell of a personality.

Speaking of Bea appreciation: her outfits! So cute. I know she's a stylist, so of course, but honestly best dressed female islander.

Actually, all the casa guys and bombshells kinda eat up the OGs in the fashion department. (except maybe Tyler, but that's only because I don't remember what he wears.) Like, Luna and Oakley are probably best dressed OGs imo, but I also kind of don't like that they wear such dark clothing in a show that takes place in the SUMMER. Like it's an aesthetic, but also it's not that interesting (like compare their fits to Najuma's)

I've already talked about this, but once again, it does feel like we're fitting so many challenges and dates in one volume and we get no chance to rest. Like there should be more downtime to chat with the islanders, but they always need to get interrupted by a challenge text for some reason. Not to mention, Mr. and Mrs. is such an odd choice for a casa challenge? Like if you think about the show, casa challenges usually compete with the other villa and are more physical so that editing the episode can be less talking and more montages. And also then you get the comparison between how couples are acting apart from each other. (which, is also a thing missing from this volume.) So Mr. and Mrs. would be just edited as a lot of people talking and too many stories to follow.

On the bright side, I completely forgot what career I chose for my MC and I was trying to think about it for the last few episodes because I like to let that affect the personality/choices she's gonna make when I play the game. And as it turns out, my MC is a musician and that made me immediately think, oh she should've been more interested in Max, but for some reason I thought she was a lawyer. Doesn't matter now.

Also fun fact my MC likes r&b and so does Claudia so ya know, just soulmate things whatever 😁

So Liam's a dick, that's not new. But I will say, I like the way they presented his faults here. Because Dylan was so clearly a villain from the get go, and then Hamish is arrogant at first but then cartoonishly gross and awful within like two episodes, and everyone got upset about the Nicolas/Jonny 180s, so the bar was low. But Liam starts off arrogant, but confident he wants Bea, and he claims to be one of those people that just always tells it like it is as an excuse to be an asshole. And you really start to feel it here. Not only that, but he doesn't listen to Bea and I think it wouldn't work if Bea just accepted it but she doesn't take his shit. ("I have a nice voice too, you should listen to it some time." BEA OMG). Then later in the volume, there are game player accusations thrown out, and that makes perfect sense to me, he's just trying to tell her the right things so he can get in the villa.

Just to talk about Bea again, but like oh it hurts me so much when Bea is like "I have to couple with someone, why not Liam?" and that breaks my heart. I want to do the Bea route just to save her from Liam. And i know she's talking about the weird thing litg is doing again where they can't just let the single islanders be single, but in my head it's her just being like "no one else wants me" and settling for this dude 😭😭

I also don't understand how this game led to a date that Emel got to pick? (also the prize doesn't make a bunch of sense since we just got dates.) Like if she won with Max, you'd think she would just go on an extra date with Max or Max would also get to pick someone to go on a date with (and he'd pick MC because he's upset and I like to be messy but like maybe you could also reject and he'd pick Bea/Claudia).

i have so many thoughts this needs a part two (not so many thoughts as much as I don't know how to be concise 😅😂)

your hc for your vivian and roy

I only watched the first 3 episodes of "Fairly Odder" before it was pulled, but Roy is my absolute favorite <3 I've drawn some doodles of him, but I don't know where they are atm.

So obsessed with the popular boy who literally wanders around with a broken leg and all he does is wish for stuff like golden pants. Everybody loves him and he'll happily leave his own party - or cancel his party - to check up his beloved stepsister. He adores her. He's everything I want in a character.

The whole back-and-forth wish set-up followed by Roy immediately withholding his wish so that Vivian couldn't use hers to get away from him was hilarious. I think he was a great "second take" on a "perfect fairy stepsibling that the other envies" after how Chloe's introduction ruffled so many feathers.

I really didn't like the love interest girl who hung around him with a camera for the "school paper," but I did think it was funny that she ended up being Viv's friend... Now Viv has a friend in a scary new town and the new girl has a way to get close to Roy that's a little less stalker-ish. Also the "Don't you think Roy is hot?" / "He's my stepbrother" / "Mm. Too bad for you" was pretty funny.

I've always interpreted Timmy and Chloe as fairy stepsiblings, so having literal stepsiblings was amazing. I enjoyed them as a duo, but a lot of the writing for the show was flimsy and I couldn't get very far into the show- strong pilot, awful 2nd episode, blatant low budget during the....... "wolf" appearance on Midas, and I lost interest and they removed it before I saw any more episodes.

I do regret not watching a little more, but those were really long episodes that were a struggle for me. I've never been into shows with laugh tracks before, so it was jarring for me, and I usually like more fantasy in my fiction, and "Fairly Odder" did struggle a ton on that end since it was live action (i.e. not even showing the "wolf" onscreen while everybody looked towards the "cameras" and cowered over how scary the wolf was, I think they even narrated what it was doing like "It's getting closer" and... yeah).

I'm glad the new series will be animated because "Odder" was pretty painful. Like I said, mixed feelings about what's to come, but if they're doing this then I'm glad it's animated. I think they also changed Wanda's pants color, which I like because it gives her just a slightly more unique design.

From what I recall, Viv is the daughter of Tyler, who is the younger brother of Timmy's Dad - with Tyler spontaneously racing back to Dimmsdale to marry his high school sweetheart and hopefully open a dance studio with her, and all those two lovebirds like to do is dance around when they're together and that's big "cartoon parent" energy and I love that - and Viv is Timmy's younger cousin by 5 years. The name I gave Timmy's Dad also starts with a T, so I think Tyler is a great name for him.

I've outlined WIPs for stories about Timmy's extended family (both sides), and Viv might get mentioned a few times if I ever decide to go through with those pieces, but Roy probably not since they're stepsiblings.

I love Timmy as much as any FOP fan - he's a good boy - but his suburban life doesn't capture my imagination as much as the Pixie lifestyle and Anti-Fairy government and all the magical politics, so we probably won't see them in my 'fics, and I don't have a lot to say about Viv or Roy because I haven't seen them in a long time and only scratched the surface.

That said, I did appreciate how Timmy and Viv had a close relationship and I thought Roy was hilarious. Refusing to fix your broken leg because "I'll do it later" and then refusing to fix it because "You'll wish to be away from me" was so funny and I ended up watching the pilot twice just for that. I really liked him.

It all started with a kiss during a drinking game. 

The friend group had gathered on the boat as it was Juleka’s - who still lived there - turn to host the bi-monthly slumber party and the drinks were already flowing.

Adrien had already taken off his shirt. 

Alix was challenging anyone who crossed her path to an arm wrestling contest. 

Max was keeping Kim from jumping into the Seine for a late night swim.

Chloe was flirting - badly - with Sabrina and Rose, which had the small blonde and her girlfriend laughing.

Nathaniel and Marc were making out in a corner.

Alya was getting extremely touchy with a zoned out, vibing Nino.

Marinette was stumbling over her words as she told a pretty raunchy story - something about walking in on her parents in the bakery one night - with the pinkest flush to her cheeks. 

And Luka… Luka was staring at those pink cheeks in awe.

How were they so… pink and soft looking? How was she so adorably cute when she was this drunk? Honestly she was always cute. 

How was that possible?

“Hear ye, hear me you drunk fucks!” Juleka shouted, gaining the attention of the drunk twenty-somethings. Luka bit back laughter as the boat instantly quieted. A drunk Juleka was a loud and rowdy Juleka and, after countless parties and sleepovers, everyone knew to listen when she spoke.

It was awesome and funny and he wanted Juleka to be like this all the time.

Just like he wanted Marinette to be pink and adorable all the time… although that part was probably just the loads of alcohol in Luka’s system talking.

“It’s time to play Truth or Dare! Spin the bottle and whoever it lands on has to answer a question truthfully or complete a dare! Got it? Good! Every get in the fucking circle now!”

There were no arguments as all gathered and sat in the set up chairs. The rule for playing was that the host went first, so Juleka leaned forward and spun the bottle. Drunk and tipsy eyes followed the circular motion of the spin until it slowed and pointed at Rose.

Juleka grinned evilly before leaning into her girlfriend and whispering something in her ear that had the smaller woman giggling and nodding. 

“Accepted!” 

With a kiss, Rose flounced over to Chloe and perched on the blond’s lap before leaning into her and whispering in her ear. Whatever Rose said had Chloe’s head nodding so fast that Luka worried she would fall over. Rose giggled before bending to spin the bottle and settling completely onto Chloe’s lap. 

Luka was extremely curious about what Jules had dared Rose to do. As he was seated next to his sister, he was tempted to ask but his attention was immediately drawn to the middle of the circle as it slowed and pointed at Marinette.

Rose squealed and bounced on Chloe’s lap, causing the blonde to flush further. “This is perfect! Truth or Dare, Mari!” 

Marinette grinned. “Dare!” 

Rose lifted an eyebrow. “Feeling brave are we? Then I dare you to kiss Luka on the mouth like you mean it.” 

Luka rolled his eyes. 

For the longest time, Rose and Juleka had been trying to set the two of them up and, for the same amount of time, Luka kept reminding them that he and Marinette were friends and nothing but friends. Neither of them saw each other in a romantic way, especially after trying to date years ago and it not working out. Luka like Marinette, he truly did, but the past was the past and they were in a good space now.

“Rose-”

“Fine.” Marinette surprised him by saying, standing, and then moving across the room towards him with a big smile on her face.

Luka felt his breath leave him. Marinette was about to kiss him and he was honestly thrilled at the thought - despite his thoughts from seconds ago. But not because he liked her or anything. No. It was just that the act of kissing was so intimate and to be able to share it with someone he cared for was an amazing opportunity. That’s why he was so amped for the kiss, not because it was Marinette who was kissing…

Even though, yes, Marinette was the most beautiful girl in any room she walked into. 

Yes, seeing her smile at him made Luka’s heart speed in his chest. 

Yes , the thought of kissing her specifically made him super excited. 

But, but, but they were just friends and Luka would have - probably - been excited or happy to kiss any of his friends, so it didn’t mean anything that he was wanting to kiss her. 

Luka was brought out of his thoughts as a shadow fell over him. 

Looking up, he met the sight of a grinning Marinette. “Hi.”

“Hi.”

She motioned toward his lap. “May I?”

“Y-Yes!” 

Then Luka had to take a huge gulp of air as Marinette straddled him in his chair. Legs around his waist and fingers weaving into his hair, Marinette made her intentions clear despite Luka hearing the dare. “Ready?”

“Ready.”

They’d kissed once as young teenagers exploring the world of dating for the first time and Luka had thought this kiss would be a lot like that one: sweet, awkward, and hesitant. 

He couldn’t have been more wrong.

Who said “I love you” first - i think the first real i love you is said by beca. like i can see chloe telling beca she loves her but beca just thinks it's bc they're friends. but when they finally get together, beca says specifically "i love you, chloe" instead of her usual "love you weirdo/dork" and it hits sooo different.

Who would have the other’s picture as their phone background - they both do! i feel like chloe has a selfie of the two of them, while beca has a more embarrassing and funny picture of chloe (and chloe constantly tells beca to chnage it, to which beca simply says "nope")

Who leaves notes written in fog on the bathroom mirror - oh this is definitely a chloe thing! tho realistically they always shower together so she only does this when she sends beca tasteful nudes from after her shower, drawing hearts and stuff around the mirror while she poses. it drives beca WILD

Who buys the other cheesy gifts - CHLOE she loves impractical gift giving and if she sees something that reminds her of beca she HAS to get it for her (or at least take a pic and send it to beca)

Who initiated the first kiss - definitely (drunk) chloe, my hc is that they totally kissed at hood night in the first movie

Marry Me Review

!!!SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

I was really excited to see this movie based on the trailers and it did not disappoint! It was so good! If you haven’t seen it yet I highly recommend that you find some time this weekend and go! It’s so funny and the music is so catchy! It’s exactly what I needed to see right now! At its core Marry Me is pure, fluffy, rom-com magic. As others have pointed out what makes it so special is that it recaptures so much of that magic that early 2000’s rom-coms had without any of the offensive jokes, patriarchal nonsense, or stupid misunderstandings that could have been solved with a five minute conversation. There’s a reason it was the number one movie on Valentine’s Day this year.

Based on the graphic novel of the same name by Bobby Crosby, Marry Me is about a pop superstar named Kat Valdez who minutes before she’s about to go onstage and marry her fiancé Bastian finds out that he’s been cheating on her with her assistant Tyra via a gossip website. Distressed and heartbroken she picks a man holding a ‘Marry Me’ sign out of the crowd and agrees to marry him onstage. The man turns out to be Charlie Gilbert, a divorced math teacher, who is there with his daughter Lou and was guilted into going to the concert by his best friend Parker.

Following the concert Kat decides to stay married to Charlie for a few months to avoid people thinking she’s manic and that there’s something wrong with her and to put a positive spin on an otherwise terrible situation. Charlie reluctantly agrees to the arrangement out of kindness and as time goes on the two grow closer after getting the chance to spend time together outside of the media spotlight and her management team. Kat bonds with Charlie’s daughter Lou and gets to know his students and eventually the two fall in love for real.

The movie stars Jennifer Lopez as pop superstar Kat Valdez, Latin pop star Maluma as Bastian, Owen Wilson as math teacher Charlie Gilbert, Sarah Silverman as Parker Debbs the school guidance counsellor and Charlie’s best friend, and John Bradley from Game of Thrones as Collin Calloway Kat’s long-time manager and friend. Rounding out the cast are Chloe Coleman from My Spy and Big Little Lies as Charlie’s daughter Lou and Michelle Buteau as Kat’s assistant Melissa. Jimmy Fallon also appears playing a fictionalized version of himself throughout the movie.

What makes this film work is the quality of the writing and the adorable odd-couple chemistry that Kat and Charlie share. They make you fall in love with their story and root for them. The film perfectly leans into the silliness and romanticism that made early to mid 2000’s rom-coms so fun! I loved how the movie stuck to its premise and didn’t try to be something that it wasn’t. The film never takes itself too seriously or tries to make some big profound point. It’s everything that I hoped Isn’t It Romantic? the 2019 rom-com staring Rebel Wilson and Liam Hemsworth would be but wasn’t.

And the reason is clear. The problem with Isn’t It Romantic as a movie was that it took itself too seriously, was always trying to prove some big point about the patriarchy or social norms, and leaned so heavily into parody that it was no longer funny. I had high hopes for that movie and I know a lot of other people did too and while it was ground-breaking for its casting of a plus sized lead the movie ultimately fell flat and just wasn’t the success everyone had hoped for.

Where Marry Me finds its strength is in working within the conventional norms of the traditional rom-com and romantic movie genre while also pointing out things that are problematic in more subtle ways. Because of this when Kat gives a speech at a press conference talking about how ridiculous it is that women feel like they have to wait for a proposal and are expected to take their husband’s last name it doesn’t feel preachy or overdone. It feels authentic. It feels like the genuine complaints of a frustrated woman whose been through hell and back and that is a feeling I think a lot of women can relate to.

There is so much expected of us and going against the grain to do what you want and be happy can often be an uphill battle and come with challenges that most men, the straight ones anyway, rarely have to face. In truth, Marry Me is the feminist rom-com for the modern age that so many other movies have tried to be but didn’t really pull off. There were so many things I loved about this movie. I was surprised at just how funny it was! I knew it would have humour in it based on the premise and the trailers, but I was pleasantly surprised at just how on point the jokes were.

Concentrated heavily in the first half of the movie the jokes, humorous dialogue, and comical situations had me laughing non-stop. The opening number of Kat’s concert is an upbeat tempo number called ‘Church’ that finds J.Lo dressed in an ornament, bejewelled, Catholic cross inspired body suit surrounded by back up dancers in sexy shortened nun outfits. I couldn’t stop laughing and the song is really catchy! It felt like a cross between a Madonna and a J.Lo concert in the best way! It honestly made me want to see her sing live in person. Both Wilson and Lopez have great comedic timing together and Silverman knocks it out of the park as always. Bradley and Coleman shine in their comedic moments as well.

The second half of the movie focused more heavily on emotional moments and power ballads which served to give the movie its emotional punch and sentimental centre. Something I really loved about this movie is that it addressed a whole bunch of things that most movies or TV shows usually leave out or don’t address which are particular pet peeves of my best friend and I who I went to see the movie with. For example, we see Kat talking to her manager about filling the paperwork to make the marriage legal. This is a big pet peeve of ours as in most films or TV shows you see people get married by an officiant, but you never see them actually sign the paperwork or talk about it.

Likewise, when Kat got to the airport to go after Charlie, we saw her manager come to her rescue with her passport, a ticket, and some money as you can’t get on a plane without those things. I had a moment when I thought they were just going to let her through and onto the plane because she was famous which would have been super unrealistic in this day and age. It made for a really sweet moment between Kat and her manager Collin who showed himself to be a loving and supportive friend who genuinely cared about her and did what he could to protect her. I also loved the moment when she tried to buy someone else’s ticket and he had to explain to her that that was illegal and that everyone, or almost everyone, knows that. I’m glad that they chose to go the realistic route as it made for some funny moments and added a sense of realism to the film that a lot of rom-coms, even good ones, tend to lack.

I loved the scenes of Kat and Charlie getting to know each other and them challenging each other to step outside of their comfort zones. Like Kat getting Charlie to try social media and become more tech savvy and Charlie getting Kat to do things for herself when she hadn’t in a long time. I felt like spending time with Charlie brought Kat back to her roots and that was what made her fall for him. I love that Kat found a way to help Charlie connect with Lou more and the scenes with Charlie and Lou’s dog were adorable and hilarious.

I particularly loved the scene with the Ferris Wheel where Kat got the park to reopen for a night so that they could go alone, and he could experience something that brought back fond memories of his mother. Sweet romantic gestures that bring back good memories are the kind of “I’m rich and famous so I can do this” uses of power or influence that I can get behind. I also loved the scene where Kat gave Lou the Chanel purse and we learned that she works with a non-profit that helps women dress for success and get back on their feet.

I have to say J.Lo’s hat game was on point in this movie! Her outfits were stunning! I loved all of them from her concert ensembles to her date night getups. And the music in this film was incredible! My friend and I both said that we wouldn’t be surprised at all if the tracks from this film wind up charting and that if people use ‘Marry Me’ as one of their wedding songs unironically in the years to come. I’ve personally been blasting the soundtrack since I got home from the theatre and have no intention of stopping.

My personal favourites are the pop and ballad versions of ‘Marry Me’ by J.Lo and Maluma, the religiously inspired pop smash ‘Church’, the self-love ballad ‘Love of my Life’, pop ballad ‘On My Way’, and the yearningly beautiful ‘After Love’. I was shocked and surprised to see Utkarsh Ambudkar as one of the mathalete coaches! As long time followers will know I loved him Free Guy and I love him in CBS’ Ghosts. He’s one of a handful of actors that’s been cropping up in everything lately now that all of the pre-pandemic content that was put on hold for the past year to two years is finally being released and I couldn’t be happier for him.

All this being said no movie is without its faults. To this end, I often found Michelle Buteau’s character annoying and felt like she was a bit much at times. However, humour is subjective and since her style of acting and humour has never really been my thing my dislike of her character was kind of inevitable and I can appreciate that other people do enjoy her particular brand of humour. Something I found odd was how Jimmy Fallon was portrayed throughout the movie.

While the opening late night monologue we see playing at Kat’s apartment was funny, talking about how she married a random guy from the audience and joking that she would likely leave him for her Uber driver and then a bellboy, each successive appearance made Fallon appear more and more cruel and mean spirited. I found this odd because out of all the male late night talk show hosts I find Fallon to be the most kind and genuine. He’s one of the better ones in my opinion and I honestly enjoy watching him interview celebrities and I find his monologues and various segments funny and entertaining.

A big part of his appeal I think is how warm and friendly he is and that seems to genuinely care about his guests and the people who work on his show. Which is why I found it odd that he came across as so villainous and mean spirited in the film. I know he’s playing a caricature of himself, but I think he’s usual persona would have worked just fine. Throughout the movie he seemed to go out of his way to make digs at Kat’s expense and during a live television interview tried to get her to admit that her and Bastion were back together. None of which seems to fit with the person he appears to be in real life or at least the person we see on TV normally.

For instance, when he interviewed RuPaul on his show in February of 2020 and thought that he had insulted them by accident he looked horrified and embarrassed so I found it odd that they had him portray himself as a villain when they already had the philandering Bastion to fill that role. All in all, Marry Me is a feel good, hilarious, and heart-warming film about trying something different and finding true love in the process. If you haven’t seen it yet I highly recommend it!

So for Season 5 of Stranger Things I really want to see the 1986 graduation and prom. If we don’t get it I will feel robbed! I want to see Nancy give the valedictorian speech talking about how her Barb used to joke about who would win. I want to see Nancy, Robin, and Vickie go prom dress/suit shopping and put on a fashion show for El and Max. I want to see Steve take Nancy to prom, but go as a group with Robin and Vickie so that they can go to prom together without drawing suspicion. I want to see the girls get ready at Nancy’s and when they come downstairs when Steve arrives to pick them up I want Karen to remark on how Steve looks like Tom Cruise and how Vickie looks like Molly Ringwald in Sixteen Candles, how Robin looks like Katharine Hepburn, and how Nancy looks like a movie star! I want Karen to take a million pictures and I want to see them have the best time. I can totally see Nancy dancing with Robin and Vickie so they can be close without it being noticeable and the girl dressed as a member of KISS from the Halloween party in Season 2 showing up to ask Jonathan if he wants to dance. I can picture it!

This is probably the best description of Steve I have ever read! It’s exactly why I love him as a character! What makes it so funny is that in the book only a few pages prior Max is thinking to herself that Steve doesn't look like a hero and then this is the description you get when the monster climbs on the bus in the junkyard and tries to eat them. If you haven’t read Runaway Max by Brenna Yovanoff I highly recommend it! I also recommend Rebel Robin by A. R. Capetta. Both are good and great primers for Season 4 of Stranger Things!

Thoughts & Reaction to GABRIEL AGRESTE

I'm going to start off by saying the biggest part of the episode was spoiled for me while browsing YouTube last night. So my reaction to that part of it was really meh because I already knew about it ahead of time. It has nothing to do with what I think about the episode itself though! I'm just really sad and disappointed that if it's not Gloob or another official source that spoils, it's random fans of the show that won't respect others. I'm also feeling quite discouraged about the fandom, particularly after this episode so I'm a little more affected by that + my mood & problems in RL in this post. I'm sorry x.x So because this episode has brought up things that do lean more on the negative side, I want to make you all aware that this isn't a really silly, happy reaction, as the episode in itself wasn't really silly or happy, but more serious and brought up a lot of serious things. So if you're not really looking for that type of reading today, I totally understand! Just kind of the way it worked out with this episode. I'm sure the next episode will have a lot more light and funny moments! Alright so opening scene is the end of another akuma attack. A nice shake-up to the usual! Gabriel mentions their "alliance" and then Adrien calls it a club. That apparently Chloe and Kagami are also members of.

I keep seeing it being called a cult, and I'm going to point out again that this is a show still aimed at kids in elementary school. While obviously they have some "club" of some kind, I think calling it a cult is a bit out there. Thomas has said before that the show won't touch on religion and religion is in the very definition of a cult. Obviously something's going on, but let's not always jump to the absolute worst-case, dark and depressing, or most chaotic scenario and then try to push it like it's canon. It's pretty sus I admit, but still. Amelie and Felix is so adorable and would probably be what Emilie and Adrien's relationship looks like to an extent, so I feel both happy and sad watching them. 😭 And then the scene where Adrien goes to Nathalie to talk about what's bothering him alsdjgalsd back to back scenes that pulls the heartstrings a bit for me! Marinette's friends are like, time to get more hands on deck to help you with Adrien! Oh kids, no no no. You don't understand that no matter what you do, something's going to always go wrong! It's super sweet that they're supportive, but oh no lol "On the outside, your story seems complicated. But really...it's simple." No, no. You two were right the first time. It seems complicated...because it is! Oh dear, this is going to get out of hand. I freaked out over the art in Nath and Marc's story. Not what it's of, exactly, just the art style! Immediately looks like Sleeping Beauty and I've always really liked that style so much. x3 It's also clear that a lot of time went into those pictures! Well goodness! Not only is Chloe horrible for spying like that, but Sabrina's fall and faceplant on the table though o.o Is she okay? She fell a good 12 feet or more! The kids were planning on having her tell him how she feels about him at school. Where he'd be guaranteed to attend, without interference from his father. Not his home, not some Parisian landmark, not during a photoshoot. At school. So she wasn't stalking him or anything. And it wasn't even her idea, and she didn't reach out to ask for help, her friends volunteered it. Now thanks to Chloe and her spying and threatening to expose that plan the kids were telling Mariette about to Gabriel, with the intention of Adrien being taken out of school, of course Marinette has to go and try to stop him from seeing that video! Because: Zoe wasn't allowed to go. Chloe was the problem. Kagami wasn't there as she doesn't go to their school to be told about this and pushed to try to interfere. Would be kind of weird for any of the others to try to sneak in and stop it, especially since they were there about her in the first place. She also didn't go there with any intention to get Adrien's attention or to confess or anything like that. Just purely to make sure Chloe doesn't share that video to Gabriel to keep Adrien in school and have a social life like he deserves. Because this is what happens whenever they try elaborate plans to get Marinette and Adrien together. Sometimes it doesn't even get past the planning part without consequences. Also Chloe, why. Why would you make him get in trouble and be forced to stay home, just in the hopes his thinking will change so you'll like him again? Not thinking things through fully, but it does show that she still cares to have him in her life...in a weird, selfish, cruel kind of way... Zoe's awesome. Just had to say that. Gabriel asked Gorilla to take care of the jammers. Hahaha oh no. The point of them is to avoid communication from coming in he said... what kind of communication would they not want to receive? And then they don't want their phones recording business during dinner. Adrien to Marino: Do I know you? That's your Lady right there Adrien :DDD Felix sees that Gabriel's Shadow Moth. I didn't realize the peacock brooch is gold when he wears it :o Hmmm, Marinette overheard Felix and Chloe's conversation. How he was fooling her into thinking he's Adrien and laughed at her stupidity. He's sure harsh and sure makes her mad lol "You're perfect" I've seen so many

people going on about this. I mean it's narcissistic Gabriel Agreste who just made a copy of himself. Him calling his copy perfect is to be expected. Lol Kagami doesn't trust Felix :D Okay, narrowing my eyes a bit at why Felix smirked after "Marino" went after Chloe, then made the excuse to go see his mom. Guessing it's because 2 of the 4 left the room so it'd be easier for him to leave? Or does he know who she is from the video he saw of her before? Oop Kagami's still mad and doesn't want to be alone with Adrien in episode 9. But will fight to protect him anyway! She's such a good friend. Truly. Not a good girlfriend! But a good friend. That soft look Felix gives the painting of Emilie has me sooo curious. It's the first time he's actually looked gentle and soft, besides when he's with his mom. Curious, curious! Alright, so this scene with SeniGabriel and Felix has me questioning some things. At first you're probably thinking, "OMG Felix is a sentimonster!" after you hear Gabriel say "And yes, I have all the powers I need to find my ring. Among them: the power to destroy your life, Felix. I don't need to be Shadow Moth to do that" but then some things don't actually add up. I get Gabriel wanting to deflect suspicion off of him being Shadow Moth. But while he threatens Felix, he literally admitted that he can destroy his life without powers, and how he can "just snap his fingers and it will be enough to make you disappear" immediately following that. That seems really strange. If he was a sentimonster, why would he say that to him? He's trying to convince him he's not Shadow Moth, but then it wouldn't make any sense if he can threaten to do what only a holder of Shadow Moth's Miraculous can do and snap his fingers to make a sentimonster disappear. Isn't that contradictory and obvious? It also doesn't make sense for the rings to be where an amok is hidden for Felix. Why would Emilie and Gabriel have them all that time instead of his parents or himself? Kind of weird. I see why people think he's a sentimonster, and I only ever thought of Felix possibly being one because of how he was in Felix, but I also think it's safe to say it's not actually confirmed and there's more we still need to know before we jump on the bandwagon. For the sake of it though, let's say he is one. That conversation would prove that Felix knows he's one, if Gabriel's threat has to do with that. He knows what Gabriel was talking about. Now for the "Adrien is a sentimonster" theory, (if you don't want to read any discussion about this and other sentimonster theories, scroll down to the red text as that's where I get back to reacting to parts of the episode!) We all know Adrien has no knowledge of being one. It seems sentimonsters are aware of what they are and their purpose, based on past episodes. They know the rules of who's in charge of them, too. I've seen people try to debunk that and say that Felix is an inferior copy that Emilie ended up making before they made Adrien, who was made not to know. (Which doesn't make sense to me in the way that if he's a sentimonster that wasn't good enough for them, just like all sentimonsters, why not just snap it away and make another one for Amelie then?) And I just want to say this now while on that topic. Doesn't this sound absolutely twisted and messed up? It's being pushed that a sentimonster is fully human, even though it isn't, but then end up saying stuff like Felix was not good enough for Gabriel and Emilie and cast him off to her sister to make a more superior copy, and that mindset honestly makes me really uncomfortable. I know in the show sentimonsters are pretty obviously disposable, but we're not talking about sentimonsters Shadow Moth needs to do something for him for an akuma attack and then is no longer useful. We're talking about the idea of a sentimonster as a child, a son. Not disposable. Still with feelings and everything. Then we have it going around the theory that Kagami, Chloe, Zoe, XY are all sentimonsters too because their parents are part of that club. So all the

characters in this show that have bad parents and issues with said parents, let's just sweep that under the rug by saying none of them are humans but sentimonsters instead? The real kids in the show have good parents, but the sentimonster kids don't? And have several beloved characters be what is essentially massed produced by a magic piece of jewelry who are at risk of disappearing forever if something happened to their amoks? These sentimonster theories are becoming way too much in my opinion, and I'm just going to wait and see what the show tells us, not just hints at, and go from there. I don't think I've ever felt so uncomfortable reading posts after an episode and I'm really hoping this isn't how things are from now on. ----Felix breaking the akumatization just shows how tough he is. "You can't catch me, I'm the Felix Graham de Vanily!" As in, the gingerbread man...nevermind. Ladybug was this close to being exposed by The Collector. She'd have spilled her secret if she got hit 😬Cutting it way too close! Also that guy running around in the room with his arms up in the air like that'd help keep him from being hit 🤣🤣🤣 LITTLE DOES GABRIEL KNOW CHAT NOIR AND LADYBUG BOTH TRANSFORMED IN HIS HOUSE. Now I'm seeing how useful that jammer is for those cameras 👀 The one thing I prefer with the English here would be that Felix sounds different from Adrien. In French, he sounds exactly the same (and very Chat Noir-like) and it messes with me that Felix sounds like our precious Chat Noir.

I find this adorable, the way they both have that expression on their faces. xD Another episode where it's just Ladybug and Chat Noir! Even though it's short and it was 100% akuma fighting, I still loved it. x3 And that is how Shadow Moth got the charm he used in Dearest Family. Was pretty sure he'd akumatize himself again to get it but there was a little twist this time. xD Deleting that video was the best thing Bob Roth has ever done in his life. And it wasn't intentional to be helpful. It's weird thinking that the Miraculous are capable of things that they simply don't know. o.o I know they're going to explore that more in the future and ahhh it's going to be so cool! Felix knows Gabriel is Shadow Moth still. Interesting... And it seems that Gabriel suspects at least that he knows, as those appear to be fake Miraculous he's putting in the safe for when he's back again. Whatever episode(s) that is, it's going to be craaazy! Overall the episode was really cool, but it did feel just a bit off when we're so used to one or both dorks being the focus, but this time, Gabriel and Felix were. It definitely made it more serious for sure and there was less to point out and laugh at. But we learned some things and have a lot more we need to wait on to find out what's really going on, so it was really interesting nonetheless! Now onto another hiatus, where hopefully by the time the next episode comes out, I will have some chapters of my fic written, my AMV I started in June finished, and some more art done! Until then! peach’s summer book list

i had a lot of fun compiling the list of books i read during the 20-21 winter, so i decided i would do a summer one as well! i still have a lot of books i own but haven’t read, so im definitely not lacking in material

if you didn’t see my winter list, how my book list works is basically like this: i read a book that i own but have not previously read, write a short summary immediately after finishing the book, write down my thoughts on the book, and then provide a rating for the book. i also might include background info on why i read this particular book/feelings about the author, but that depends on the book. that’s how each entry works

without further ado, let’s get started!

1. Grasshopper Jungle by Andrew Smith

okay so i absolutely adore another book by andrew smith (written after grasshopper jungle) called the alex crow. it’s one of my favorite books of all time, so naturally i wanted to see if grasshopper jungle would make me feel similarly. just like the alex crow, grasshopper jungle’s plot is. so fucking weird. it stars austin szerba, a teenage polish kid who lives in ealing, iowa, and is often sexually confused regarding his girlfriend shann and his best friend robby. and in ealing, iowa, austin and robby accidentally and unknowingly unleash an unstoppable army of huge six-foot-tall praying mantis bugs that only want to do two things: fuck and eat. and i just have to say: andrew smith’s got an absolutely dynamo writing style. alex crow is similar, where it’s a book about kind of everything all at once, framed in a moment centering around teenage boys. it’s fantastic, and it’s more than a little gross, and i love it. this book made me feel so many things, and i thought austin was such an amazing narrator and main character to identify with. this book has it all: shitty teenage boy humor, fucked up science experiments, and poetic imagery that will make you want to cry. and explicit lgbt characters.

2. Burn by Patrick Ness

patrick ness has written a plethora of some of my favorite books (such as a monster calls, the chaos walking trilogy, and the rest of us just live here) so when i saw this one in the store i knew it would be a great one. burn is an alternate history fantasy that takes place in 1957 frome, washington, during the height of the cold war, and it begins with a girl named sarah and her father hiring a dragon to help out on their farm. but there’s not just dragons, farm living, and cold war tensions; there’s also a really shitty small town cop, a cult of dragon worshippers and their deadly teenage assassin, a pair of fbi agents, and a prophecy that sarah’s newly hired dragon claims she’s a part of. i think eoin colfer’s highfire was on my winter list, which also featured a story that included dragons and shitty cops, so when i first began burn i thought it was funny to have two books that had both things. you know, if you had a nickel etc etc. but that’s really where the similarities end because burn is entirely it’s own monster (dragon). burn is entirely invested in its world, and its fascinating. not only that, i had no clue where the book would take me next. there were so many surprises and amazing twists that honestly just blew me away. this book also includes beautifully written complicated discussions on family, race, and love - it features interracial and queer romances as the two most prominent romance plots which was such a nice surprise from a book i wasn’t expecting to have that kind of representation. this book is witty, fast-paced, and a very heartening read - i absolutely adored it.

9/10 dragons and becoming motivated by the power of love and friendship are so fucking cool

3. As Meat Loves Salt by Maria McCann

i hate this book! as meat loves salt is a historical fiction novel which takes place in seventeenth century england, which is going through a grisly civil war. the protagonist, jacob cullen, is a servant for a wealthy household and is engaged to another servant in the house. but due to certain events that are almost entirely jacob’s fault, he flees the house and is separated from his wife. from there, he joins the royal army and meets a kind soldier, ferris, and the two become fast friends. jacob and ferris’s relationship begins to bridge past friendly, and jacob struggles with his homoerotic feelings as well as the growing obsession and violence inside him. also, they try to start a colony. listen, i don’t know how to describe the book because so much happens, but it basically just follows jacob and all the terrible decisions he makes because he is, truly, a terrible person. ferris is kind and good, and jacob is scum of the earth. he sucks so bad. the entire time i was reading this book (which took absolutely so long), all i wanted was for jacob to just get his ass handed to him. i wanted to see him suffer. and it’s not like i just personally don’t like him - i believe the book purposefully depicts him as unsympathetic even though he is the narrator. i did enjoy the very in depth and accurate portrayal of what life would’ve been like in seventeenth century england, and i think it was interesting to read a character that is just the absolute worst person you’ve ever encountered and see him try and justify his actions, so if you enjoy that kind of thorough writing, then this book would be perfect for you. however, i did not see that bitch ass motherfucker jacob cullen suffer enough. i’d kill him with my bare hands.

4. This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab

i know ive had a friend tell me how great one of schwab’s other book series is, but truthfully i bought this book because the cover is sick as hell and it was on a table in the store that advertised for buy two get one free, i think. something like that. anyway, this savage song takes place in a future in which monsters, for whatever reason, suddenly became real and out for blood in a mysterious event nicknamed the phenomenon. august flynn is one of these monsters, but he takes no pride in that fact and only wants to feel human. kate harker is the daughter of a ruthless man and is trying her hardest to be ruthless, too, but deep down she knows it’s just an act. their city, verity, stands divided, and kate and august stand on either side - but when august is sent on a mission to befriend kate in the hopes of stopping an all out war, the lines begin to blur. this book rules. august and kate are such interesting and dynamic characters, and the narrative is familiar while still being capable of twisting the story around and taking the feet out from under you in really compelling ways. this savage song is part of the monsters of verity duology, and i can’t wait to dive into how the story continues and finishes.

4a. Our Dark Duet by Victorian Schwab

this is the sequel and finale for this savage song and i’d figure i’d update everyone: fantastic ending, beautiful, showstopping, painful.

12/10 loved it and will definitely be keeping an eye out for schwab’s other books

5. White is for Witching by Helen Oyeyemi

oh boy. okay. white is for witching is about a house, and it is about the women who have lived inside of it. when her mother dies abroad, miranda silver begins to act strangely, and there’s nothing her father or her twin brother seem to be able to do about it. she develops an eating disorder and begins to hear voices in the silver family house, converted to a bed and breakfast by miranda’s dad; and she begins to lose herself in the house and the persistent presence of her family legacy. white is for witching switches perspective dizzingly and disorientingly between miranda, her twin eliot, miranda’s friend from school named ore, and the house itself. this story is a horror story as much as it as a tragedy as much as it is a romance as much as it is a bunch of other things. oyeyemi brings race, sexuality, nationality, and family into this story and forces you not to look away. this book is poetry.

(like i mentioned briefly, this book heavily deals with topics of race and closely follows miranda’s eating disorder. read responsibly, and take care of yourselves)

15/10 this book consumed me and i think i’ll have to read it another 10 more times to feel it properly

6. These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong

okay. okay. strap in for a ride. these violent delights is a romeo and juliet style story, taking place in glittering 1920’s shanghai. the city stands divided - not only between the foreign powers encroaching on chinese land, but also between the scarlet gang and the white flowers, who are at the height of a generations-long blood feud. juliette cai, heir to the scarlets, has recently returned from four years abroad and is determined to prove herself ruthless enough to lead. roma montagov, heir to the white flowers, is standing strenuously on his place as next in line due to a slip up four years prior and is desperate to keep hold of his title. and in the midst of juliette and roma’s burning history with each other threatening to combust, an unnatural monster lurks in the waters of shanghai, loosing a madness on scarlets and white flowers alike. this book has it all - scorned ex lovers, political intrigue, deadly monsters, and all set on a glamorous backdrop of the roaring twenties. i absolutely was enraptured by this book and the way it plays around the story of romeo and juliet so well that it easily became it’s own monster, but with the punches and embraces of something classically shakespearan. gong does just an absolutely breathtaking job of fitting this fantastical story amid the larger world of shanghai and the real life historical events that had shaken the city to its core. completely immersive and outstandingly heart racing.

17/10 i was chewing on my fingernails for the last thirty pages and will continue to do so until the sequel is released (our violent ends, 16 nov 21)

7. The Antiques by Kris D’Agostino

you ever heard of the american dysfunctional family story? this is most definitely that. at the same time george westfall’s cancer takes a turn for the worse, a hurricane hits the east coast, and suddenly all at once the issues of his health, the hurricane, and all three of his children’s achingly dysfunctional adult lives are crashing into each other. reunited by george’s death, the westfall siblings have to face their grief, each other, and the problems in their own lives they attempted to put on hold while planning their father’s memorial. this is a nice story about grief and loss and love and somehow finding the humor amidst it all.

(this book does include a depiction of an autistic child who does experience several pretty bad meltdowns due to ignorant people around him not understanding how to cater to his needs. im not an authority on what depictions are or are not harmful, but i do believe this depiction is ultimately loving and well-intended.)

7/10 it made me laugh and cry and was generally one of those books that somehow hit you close to home

8. Fierce Fairytales by Nikita Gill

fierce fairytales is a poetry anthology that reimagines classic fairytales from a modern, feminist viewpoint, acknowledging that the line between hero and villain, monster and damsel, are not as clear cut as the classics try to make you believe. this book also includes illustrations done by the author herself, which i think is really cool. my personal favorite story reimagining was the story of peter pan and captain hook, called ‘boy lost’ which looked at how peter and hook’s relationship began and rotted. all in all, i think this collection of stories had a lot of important things to say and said them in frank, easy to understand poetry and prose.

7/10 beautiful message and pretty prose, but at times a little cliche

and that’s all from the summer! my fall semester starts tomorrow, and overall i feel very good about all the reading i did this summer. i even read four other books not on this list for work! so i definitely feel like i made the most out of my time, and im really glad i was able to read so many stories that made me feel a variety of different things

Roma Marinette pt. 1

Marinette's parents joined a traveling circus a year before Marinette was born. They make all the food that's sold as well as food for their fellow travelers.

Marinette is born in the circus. She is one of three kids. Only one year younger than Dick Grayson, Dickie as she grows up calling him, and five years younger than Johnny Grayson. Dick's nickname for Marinette is Marigold. Marinette takes to the Graysons she and Dick adore each other and all the Graysons love little Mari. With Tom and Sabine's permission they start training her along with Dick. Both kids fast learners with what seems like an ability to completely defy gravity and break its rules.

Dick and Marinette are stuck at the hip learning everything their circus family can teach them. Marinette is the one that decides that they should learn knife throwing and fire spinning. While Dick decides they are going to work out with the strong men and learn how to handle the animals. 

While they are still too young to join in on the trapeze they are allowed in the show. Together they wow crowds doing cartwheels, flips, and complicated floor routines together. Once they are 6 they are allowed to fly with the rest of them. Their shows garner more and more attention, everyone wanting to see the two youngest aerialists in the world.

Everything is perfect in their lives, until they go to Gotham for a show. Dick parents begin acting weirdly, hugging Dick more and more, while looking at him in a resigned manner. This causes both to worry a bit but they don't let it show. When Dick sees people messing with the trapeze both of them brush it off. Before the show they meet the young Drake family and take a picture together. Marinette and Dick are on one knee together with Tim sitting on their bent knees.

When the lines snap Marinette and Dick stand on the boards opposite of each other watching in horror as the lines snap. In minutes both are on the ground near the bodies, Dick crying silently holding his mother's bracelet while Marinette holds him tightly crying herself.

Bruce walks up and talks to the two and is slightly surprised to find that Marinette wasn't their daughter. Marinette smiles weakly telling them she was pretty damn close. Bruce comforts Dick before going to talk with the Commissioner and a Social Worker.

Before the end of the night Dick is packing up his stuff and getting ready to leave with the social worker. Bruce never leaves their sides. Marinette stops Dick from leaving and hands him her stuffed tiger named Sikhaya. Dick hugs it tightly before pulling out his elephant Zitka and giving it to her.

Marinette pulls him into a tight hug sniffling into his shoulder.

Mari- Don't you dare forget me Richard Grayson. We'll find each other again someday Dickie. So until then don't you dare forget me.

Dick- I could never forget you Bluejay. 

Two months later Marinette and her parents leave the circus and settle down in Paris. It breaks their hearts but after the Grayson's tragedy Tom and Sabine find it the best option.

Dick and Marinette don't see each other for a very long time, but they never forget the other.

Zitka is well loved and taken care of. The stuffed animal has a special place on Marinette's bed even when she is an adult. While Dick takes to putting Sikhaya on a shelf when his brothers come into the mix, not wanting it to be destroyed if they become destructive.

Dick grows up as Bruce's son becoming Robin when he turns nine. At thirteen he joins a team of young superheroes, at fifthteen he leaves behind Robin giving the mantle to his new brother Jason. He also begins dating Barbara. They break up a year later when Dick realizes he is continually comparing Barbara to Marinette. When he becomes seventeen he mourns the loss of his brother and nearly kills the Joker, only stopped by Batman. He takes a year break, taking counseling sessions with a reformed Harley Quinn. During his break he meets Tim Drake once again, he doesn't remember him however. He begins training Tim to find solace in acting as a brother again, he also digs up evidence on why the Drakes are terrible parents. Dick encourages Tim to become Robin, his first night out as Robin is Nightwing's return. When he turns 18 he goes to the police academy, and once he graduates he becomes part time and goes to college for business. He is 20 when Red Hood begins targeting the entire family. Jason was not prepared for how vicious Dick got when he shot Tim. Batman once again stops Dick in his anger, telling him once again that neither of his brothers would want him to kill. Jason uses this time to escape from the family and drops into hiding. He hacks into the Batcave and watches the caves videos and reading reports of what's happened since his death. When Jason finally comes back he is ashamed and is surprised when Dick simply hugs him crying. Things are tense between Bruce and Jason, but a few counseling sessions with Harley and their relationship is slowly rebuilding. Shortly after Damian comes into their lives. Dick is quick to knock Damian down when he attacks Tim. He tells Damian that he doesn't care who his mother is, or that he is Bruce's blood son. He slowly brings Damian into the family. While the boy is still distant and mean to the family they all notice he doesn't mean his insults anymore. When Dick is twenty-two he graduates college with a degree in business. He begins working at Wayne Enterprises as well, he mainly works from home and behind the scenes with Mr. Fox. No one outside the company knows he also works there, the entirety of Gotham believes he is just Officer Grayson.

Marinette grows up in Paris with absent parents. They love her but now that they have their own business they only have time for dinner with Marinette. While she is upset she joins gymnastics and aerial arts classes, quickly rising to the position of top student. She also begins going to regular school during her first day. She is so nervous she keeps tripping. The entire class soon begins to view her as clumsy, something that sticks. Even though Marinette only trips afterwards when someone does it on purpose, they choose to ignore the fact she catches herself quickly. While everyone believes she is just clumsy Marinette no one realizes that she is Paris's national champion in Gymnastics. Marinette is so good that they want her on Paris's Olympic team once she turns 16. When she turns ten she realizes she can sell her designs online. She pulls out all her notebooks pulling out her favorite designs and begins to make them all. Once done she creates a website under the name Marigold. On each outfit she hand stitches Mari in gold thread, for a signature marking. Marinette slowly makes friends outside her classmates, while they are nice they all stand by when Chloe attempts to bully Marinette and she doesn't like that. Especially when she sticks up for a few of them, she remains civil and polite to them although in her eyes she is clearly distant. When she is thirteen she becomes friends with Alya, the two girls slowly growing closer. She also develops a crush on Adrien that Alya blows way out of proportion wanting to help her new bestie. While Marinette likes Alya, Dick still holds the spot of best friend in her heart. Marinette also becomes Ladybug, she struggles at first but her years of training in flying helps her greatly and her aim has not deteriorated since leaving the circus. Marinette begins making less clothes and takes up karate classes as well four days go to gymnastics, two go to aerial arts and one to karate. Her three main instructors make the connection to her being Ladybug after a year, when Ladybug uses an aerial move that only she has ever used in front of them.

Instead of confronting her the three get together and come up with a way to help Marinette. They start by deciding that Chat Noir either needs to get serious or get lost. One month later they all have solid examples of. why Marinette needs to bench him if he doesn't. It's at that time they confront her. Marinette attempts to lie saying that she isn't but stops when Madeline speaks up.

Madeline- My dear bird, you've never liked lying. You've rarely done it, and because of that you are truly terrible at lying

Marinette is dejected and apologizes to Tikki, but the Kwami just smiles telling Marinette that it wasn't the first time a Ladybug's mentor had found out.

Tikki- It's just never been three before!!

Marinette listens to her instructors carefully before telling them that she agrees. She tells them her partner looks through life with rose colored glasses. That while she does find him kind and silly she doesn't have a crush on him. That she doesn't find him as kind, caring, or as funny as Dick. She pauses after saying this, surprised that she hadn't said Adrien. Her instructors watch her as she closes in on herself taking a moment to sort through her thoughts. Once she is done a stray tear falls from her left eye.

Marinette- After all this time my thoughts still drift back to him…Chaton will never measure up to the person I truly love. His insistence and pushing do nothing more than cause stress on our partnership. I will look into having him either replaced or given one last chance.

That night she lays in bed hugging Zitka close to her chest as she stares out her open trap door at the stars. A few minutes go by and Marinette gets out of bed gently setting Zitka down. She walks over pulling the pictures of Adrien down, as well as his schedule tossing them all in the trash. Once done she climbs out onto her rooftop garden Tikki following her and sitting on Marinette's knee once the girl sits down.

Marinette- Adrien...Adrien Im sorry. I took your act of kindness and compared it to the kindness I use to have daily. Instead of seeing you, I saw Dickie. I thought I loved you, but I loved the kindness you showed me, that reminded me so much of him. I don't love you like that Adrien, instead of wanting to be your girlfriend. I just want to be your friend, so from this day on I will try harder to be that.

Two days later Ladybug tells Chat Noir to meet her on the Eiffel Tower that night after patrol. She tells him that she isn't in love with him and that she never will be. She knows she is coming off harsh and she tells him that, then explains that she needs to because after a year he is still acting like this. Chat is clearly saddened, this causes Ladybug to sigh and hug him.

Ladybug- I know it hurts, but you need to come to terms with this Chaton. You are my partner and you're like a brother to me. My heart is already taken, Chaton I have loved him since I was a child. Even if I was to date another right now I would just continue to compare them to my Robin.

Chat agrees to take things more seriously telling her that he still loves her, but he understands. He promises her that he will not let his feelings get in the way anymore. As the months pass the two become closer and closer. When Lila arrives Adrien already knows that she is lying and takes to avoiding her. When he spots Marinette getting put down by Alya and Nino for telling them Lila was lying he is quick to stand up for her. This causes a split among their classmates they don't want to be mean to Adrien, but he is always with Marinette. Lila is constantly telling the class that Marinette is bullying her and they want to do something but Adrien gets in their way. While Adrien and Marinette get closer they both realize one day that their partner in suits and civies is the same person. After them the two are rarely separate from each other. Gabriel finds Marinette very respectable despite Marinette being Roma, which would caused him to turn up his nose at first. He allows Adrien to spend more time with her, giving him permission to attend her gymnastics competitions. She is fifthteen when she becomes the new Guardian. By the time both are sixteen they have been outcast by their class and forced to the back. However they did not allow this to way down on them. Adrien had gained permission to model for Marinette along with their friends Luka and Kagami, and Jagged and Clara, two of Marinette's most famous clientele. Marigold was a very well known designer however no one knew what she looked like. Marinette never stepped out in public so the media didn't know the designer was a high school student. Marinette was also old enough to try for a spot on the Olympic team. She is sent an email the day of her birthday and Tasha laughs at the subtle begging in the email. Marinette is quick to agree and the four friends go out for dinner to celebrate. Only for it to be ruined when Lila shows up with Alya, Rose, and Alix claiming that they stole the table she reserved. Adrien was going to snap until Marinette placed a hand on his arm. She wiped her mouth standing up gracefully. She smiled politely at the four telling them not to worry the table was open now. The four walk away together not acknowledging Lila's glare. Marinette is seventeen when she participates in the Tokyo Olympics Adrien going with both her and Tasha. She uses Kaalki to get her and Adrien back to Paris for Akuma attacks. She loves her entire time in the Olympic Village. Marinette takes the gold for all four events. She is crying as she stands with her teammates four medals around her neck. Returning to Paris had been wonderful, she was greeted by the President and the Mayor and many fans. Adrien teased her relentlessly over the amount of fans she had. Once they returned to school the entire class demanded to know why Marinette never told them. Marinette simply sighs telling them she never kept it a secret. That she'd told them plenty of time she couldn't do something because of training. The class is really upset and they try to get Bustier on their side and the teacher just sighs softly wishing she never agreed with the Principal to teach Lila Rossi. Bustier knew she wasn't the best teacher but that girl destroyed her reputation by turning her class into the worst in the school. They are eighteen when they begin attending college Marinette for fashion and Adrien business. Marinette is nineteen when she and Adrien take down Hawkmoth only to discover Gabriel Agreste underneath. They hand him over to the cops before heading to the Eiffel tower together. Once there Adrien and Marinette de-transform and Adrien breaks down, Marinette pulls him into a tight hug tear of her own falling. Two months later Adrien sold off his father's company and the mansion. Moving into a cosy apartment with Marinette. Adrien takes the last name Dupain-Cheng and the announce it together on their way to the next Olympics when Marinette is twenty-one. She once again takes home all four gold medals, keeping her title for another four years. They graduate college together at twenty-two, and decide its time for the world to meet Marigold. Marinette reveals herself to the world as Marigold, and everyone in the fashion industry is talking about the young women who built her fashion empire before she was even 18. Adrien takes a job in her company head of PR. When they fully introduce themselves they become known as Marinette and Adrien D.C. The world is talking about the D.C. siblings, most of the conversations being around Adrien no longer going by Agreste. Together they travel the world, nothing changing in their lives until they visit Gotham, and Marigold receives an invitation to the Wayne Charity Event.

Marinette's first stop in Gotham is the place where the Graysons fell. Adrien goes with her hugging her gently as she softly cries. The next day she visits their graves alone, saying hello to the cold stone and asking if they remember her. She leaves flowers on the graves and a letter to each of them, including one to Dick. 

Marinette- Thank you for all you taught me and encouraged me to learn. I never thought I'd use my flying to save peoples lives when I returned to Paris.  Please continue watching over me and Dickie. I'm going to find him, I promise.

She leaves the graves feeling a lighter happy to have visited them once again

When the Charity Event arrived Marinette and Adrien D.C. couldn't wait to leave their mark on Gotham high society. Unknown to both of them that Dick Grayson had become Richard Grayson-Wayne.

Stone Heart Origins

- Alim had first found the peacock, rabbit and butterfly miraculous when in the Tibetan mountains when on an expedition trip

- This was before Alice, his wife and Alix and Jalil’s mother had passed away

- So they never had any interest in using the miraculous since it was damaged, but they did take care of the Kwami

- They were also aware of the wish it could grant by combining the ladybug and cat

- When Alix was about 11, during a break in Alice had a bullet go right through her heart

- Alice had died pushing her daughter out of the way

- And it had traumatized Alix for life

- She had been shaking and crying, trying to get her mother to move and blood staining her knees

- Alim had rushed out after only to find his daughter crying on his wife’s body with police around her

- After her death, Alim became much more distant and cold

- Not interacting or being the good father he used to be

- Alix would be lucky if she saw him besides dinner

- Alim was even more dismissive of Jalil’s drive

- Jalil is preferring to follow his mother’s archeologist path than his fathers historian one

- But he still knows a lot of history just from living in the louvre

- It has caused on Alix to rely much more on Jalil and her friends

- Jalil is the one who orders take out makes dinner

- Because Alim doesn’t bother giving them food

- Essentially, Jalil is her caretaker

- Alim heavily blamed Alix for Alice’s death

- Jalil is the favorite, but Alim still barely interacts with him

- So by the time she was nearly 15, when she was old enough to be able to handle the rabbit he set his plan into action

- He would begin creating super villains using Nooroo to gain the wish and bring back Alice

- Alim pulled Alix off to the side and told her about this, giving her the rabbit and manipulating her into helping him

Alim: If you help me, we’ll be a family again. Don’t you want your mother back, Alix?

- Alix was desperate for just some kind of acknowledgment from her father at this point

- So hearing that he had a plan to bring back her mother..

- She accepted and was given the rabbit miraculous

- Alix then had gone to school for the start of 10th grade

- Wayzz had sensed the activation of the moth miraculous again

- He could tell it was the same person who activated it, but their aura had gone dark

- He also sensed the rabbit being activated, with a much more innocent spirit

- He alerted Master Fu to this

- Marinette just didn’t want to deal with having to go to school

- Not because of Chloe because she is nicer in this Au, just a little bit of a show off and socially awkward

Chloe: Uh..you..look decent today.

Marinette: ..Thanks??? Should I be insulted??

- Marinette saved Fu’s ass and gave him a small worried lecture on being more careful with him casually dropping the box into her bag

- She then went to school

- Nino is the guy that will rock out to his tunes so much that he’ll slam his head into the wall behind him

- That’s mostly the reason Caline made him move so he didn’t fracture his skull

- Marinette just sat down with Alya to try and get to know her since she was new

- They clicked immediately

- Meanwhile across the city, Nora and Jalil are becoming quick friends

- Mostly because Jax got caught bullying Jalil for fun and Nora kicked his ass for it

- Jax found that hot and is now simping while Nora tries not to let a vein burst

- Adrien wasn’t just friends with Chloe, but Alix as well

Alix and Adrien: Dead mom and shitty father squad!

Chloe: I wish my mom was dead

Nathaniel and Sabrina: Please get therapy

- Gerald is still a piece of shit

- So this time, every rich kid has really bad parents

- What’s funny is that Andre is considered the best one now

- But Tom?

- Oh boy

- Tom adores Alix and Nathaniel

- As well as Chloe when she first comes over

- He thinks they are baby

- He would also like to throw Alim and Gerald into the seine

- Adrien is still stopped by Gorilla and Nathalie

Nathalie: Your father said no!

Adrien: Well, tell him through that damn iPad that I say he’s a jackass who can fuck himself!

- He has no manners

- That was Alix and Chloe’s fault of course

- Gorilla actually feels bad for the boy and does sign language that says, “I’m sorry” behind Nathalie

- Adrien did still help out Fu but was shoved back into the car by Nathalie

Wayzz: IM THE KWAMI OF PROTECTION?? WHAT DO YOU EXPECT??

- Chloe, Nath and Alix were wondering why Adrien wasn’t there and were getting worried

- Ivan got into a fight with Kim about teasing him with his crush

- He was very much upset with him for it

- Ivan got sent to the Mr. Damocles’ office

- Kim and Alix already getting into a dare circle while Max is the tired parent friend

Max: God fucking damnit. CAN YOU TWO STOP FOR TWO SECONDS.

- Yeah they shut up

- You listen to Max when he gets pissed

- Ivan got only more frustrated with Damocles

- He was also stressed due to Camie entering Kindergarten

- He had dropped her off earlier that day and was worried about how it would go for her

- So that on top of this just wasn’t letting him have a good day

- And he was akumatized

- Alix, despite knowing the plan was not expecting a giant rock monster and also terrified

- But then Alim called her and yelled at her to go help Stoneheart in his destruction

- So Alix transformed into Bunnix for the first time

- She was mainly keeping the police force away from him and trying not to hurt people

- Alya was very disappointed because she had gotten excited when she saw her

- Adrien was super upset about not being able to go to school

- He was also upset about Nathalie actually telling Gabriel

- Gabriel actually took Hawkmoth as proof the world was dangerous

- Gabriel isnt hawkmoth, but he may be an ally of him one day

- Marinette frantically screaming and nearly scaring her parents shitless

- They actually came upstairs and she said she saw a mouse

- Which they got worried about since this is a bakery

- Plagg being a little shit and trying to eat everything in sight

- Tikki being surprisingly calm with Marinette

- Both go out and transform

- Them looking at themselves in the mirror like, “Huh, neat.”

- Adrien is a weeb so of course he’s eager

- Meanwhile Mari is all anxiety

- Ladybug nearly drops her name before realizing, “Wait shit can’t do that.”

- Ladybug gets a small hype up from Chat

- Kim is absolutely screaming

- Stoneheart finds it pretty amusing

- Both are slightly worried about Bunnix’s intentions

- But as soon as she sees them she’s like, “Thank fuck someone my strength who I don’t need to feel horrible about fighting.”

- So she’s immediately engaging with Chat

- Chat’s impulsive as fuck with his power still

- Bunnix is laughing at him when he gets thrown by Stoneheart

- But she left pretty quick after Stoneheart was defeated

- Chat called her a coward

- Ladybug was definitely planning on calling out Kim on his bs later

- Before realizing she wouldn’t have a way to explain she knew about the letter

- Alim..he wasn’t happy with Alix

- Alix actually got slapped across the face and yelled at for failing

- And Alim then stated that was letting her off easy and that was because the akuma wasn’t captured

- But Alix was still really upset and hid under her blankets for a little while

- Sabine and Tom were super excited about the new heros

- Mari was quite touched by it

- Alya was annoyed her footage was called amateur

- Gabriel just didn’t care

- Adrien being annoyed about having to carry stinky cheese everywhere some more

- So he carries around a lunchbox now for the cheese

- The akuma then started multiplying

- Bunnix didn’t have a very good reputation but she had like..some very fans who suspected a redemption arc for her

- Meanwhile, Mari and Adrien were panicking at the akumas

- Jalil was also quite worried since Nora was one of the people frozen

- Mari decided to quit and put the ladybug earrings away

- Alim had the akuma return to him with Alix next to him

- Who still had a slap mark on her cheek and was holding back tears

Eternals Review (Spoiler Free)

Let's review the Eternals! Right off the bat the cinematography was amazing. It was absolutely a visually stunning movie. There were definitely moments where the CGI could have been better, but I think that's a big issue in a lot of current marvel movies that were filmed during the pandemic, where they had to film in studios on blue screens instead of on location.

The cast was amazing. Gemma did a spectacular job as Sersi, especially seeing as she had the responsibility of essentially leading the whole movie. Angelina was phenomenal as well and brought a lot of depth to Thena's character, that I was surprised by. Kumail as Kingo and his valet Karun (played by Harish Patel) stole the show and provided some much needed comic relief at times. I adored Brian's Phastos, I just wish we had more time with him. Don Lee as Gilgamesh was great and his chemistry with Thena was off the charts. Lia McHugh who plays Sprite did an amazing job and she's only 13. She really held her own in this star studded cast. I think Lauren and Barry however have to be my favorites to come out of this cast. The relationship between Makkari and Druig is so beautifully done, even though it's not at the forefront really. Also Lauren in general is such a badass and I'm glad to see the deaf community getting more representation on screen. I hate to say it but I was a little underwhelmed by Salma's role and performance. And finally Richard 😍He does a such a good job fully embodying the character of Ikaris, and I wish I could say more but just, yeah he was great.

As for the plot, I think the pacing could be slow at times, but I did like that the movie jumps around time wise and we get to travel throughout history with these characters that have been here for 7000 years. There are truly heartbreaking scenes but also so many tender scenes and then just laugh out loud funny moments that I think it finds a good balance. I will say I have never read these comics, and don't know how comic accurate it is or isn't, but I didn't see the big reveal coming and I really enjoy when that happens, cause a lot of time I feel like movies can be very predictable.

Overall I think Chloe Zhao did a great job at bringing these Eternals into the MCU. I think while it's definitely not a perfect movie it is still a very enjoyable movie and is probably in my top 10 (or at least top 15) of all MCU movies. It is less formulaic that its predecessors but still ultimately feels like a Marvel Movie and I think for that it succeeded in its goal.

scratch that. he absolutely starts as one of those Aesthetic™ cooking channels like Cooking tree, HANSE, Sweet The MI or Nino’s Home.

his channel is called Souvenir because he’s not THAT original you can’t expect everything from a man, people. 

he starts off doing these voiceless cooking videos, but after a voice and face reveal at 2 million followers where he cooks something for his followers as a thanks...well, who wouldn’t want more of that sultry voice and glorious face

Victor’s channel is kind of comparable to Junskitchen, a rather relaxed, casual atmosphere combined with exquisite, refined cuisine

if he feels like it, he does a voice-over, otherwise he just puts calm jazz, blues or r&b over his cooking

HAS done an ASMR special. low-key dislikes the video because he has to whisper voice-overs but people LOVE it

likes making all kinds of foods, but his channel features quite a lot of sweet foods and desserts because a certain dummy has a sweet tooth

a pretty popular feature during quarantine is Cooking w/ Sou, essentially a live stream where Sou (aka Victor) cooks a whole three-course meal while talking to and instructing his followers

his subscribers notice that he doesn’t really need editing to look clean during cooking because his technique is IMMACULATE

by the end, he’s made a themed dinner for two...which always raises a question mark

is Sou single? does he have a roommate? a girlfriend? a kid? WHAT?

after getting your explicit permission, Victor addresses the situation in one of his recent Q&As

“Why do I always make dinner for two? I have a fiancée, she edits my videos in her spare time. She works as a producer. *you wave your hand over the lens* Dummy.” he breezes over it like it’s no big deal even though he’s a tad nervous about exposing something personal like this

his fans blow up the internet, baffled but not entirely surprised that someone like Sou isn’t a bachelor

of course, some leave hate under the video honestly, people who do this to celebs who start dating are HORRIBLE

Lucien’s channel LucidLight is a tad bit all over the place

he’s a man of many talents, and his channel reflects just that

i’m not saying it’s a disorganized channel, because the theme is very much there - the uniform theme in Luci’s content is a cozy background, a cup of tea and a soothing thumbnail

i mean that content-wise, his subscribers don’t really know what they’re going to get next...he has a slightly similar style to the YouTuber simon plant 

his content varies from interesting science theories to poetry reading sessions to ASMR to painting/sketching to cooking and much, much more

he has an heavenly soothing, smooth voice. it’s his trademark since Lucien doesn’t show his face on camera. ever. 

doesn’t have a TON of subs, because his channel is a bit of a niche thing, but I’d say he has 1,2 million subscribers and 400k followers on his added ‘business’ Instagram

he holds a lot of live streams on Instagram/YouTube (i know Moments exists in the game, but that’s more like a Facebook or Twitter kind of app...) and is always shown with just his torso and neck in frame. the lives usually include some poetry reading and generally just having a nice, relaxing chat with his followers. they can last up to 5 hours at once, and YOU know it’s because he doesn’t need sleep like a normal human being, but his fans are still asking questions about his timezone

his subscribers are strangely fascinated by his mysterious, gentle nature and also incredibly obsessed with his large, elegant hands

his ASMR videos are often roleplays of Librarian Lucien or Professor Lucien explaining to people why their rest is important

other times, they include soft affirmations, positive whispers, finger fluttering, hair touching and maybe kissing sounds...

Lucien paints a lot too, although he works primarily with ink and pencil sketches. you’ll find a watercolour or oil painting somewhere, but they’re not his most prominent media

his art videos are usually silent, although he might say something once in a while. there’s always some type of solo instrumental music playing in the background.

he does educational videos about biology and universe theories, but will also have reading sessions about scientific books

also how does he stay so fit with all those snack mukbangs?

he has a segment named In Our Kloset where he talks about social issues (because our boy uses his platform for good) around the world while customizing (not just pins. we’re talking patches, sewing, painting, embroidery) thrifted clothing to his liking. at the end he holds a little fashion show with his new outfits

after a while, you’ll see many of his outfits in giveaways or on sale for charity. Kiro tries to give back to his fans as much as he can, and how better than by sharing a piece of his unique clothing with them?

a great singer and performer. has held actual concerts before and has an actual music career (author-nim leaves it up to you readers to decide whether this is his idol career or some other musical project)

but they know nothing about his past, his location, his close social circle or his family (teeechnically he’s an orphan but ig we’re talking about his mentor here. the blood of the covenant blah blah blah...y’know?). Kiro protects his loved ones fiercely

for someone who’s kept so secret, you’re actually really involved in Kiro’s virtual persona. you’re usually behind the camera during his In Our Kloset videos and are in charge of extra research regarding topics so he doesn’t spread any misinformation 

you also give pointers during filming (of course, these bits are edited out) because Kiro tends to trail off and get distracted when sewing

another way you’re involved is setting up the food during mukbangs. you have a great sense of aesthetics, so all of his videos in general will go through you.

while you like being low-key in Kiro’s life, you don’t want him to feel like he has to protect you from all the hate. 

he doesn’t particularly love keeping you a secret either, and it makes him feel guilty because he doesn’t want you to think he’s ashamed of you. he could never be.

you guys give it a good chat over how you’re going to announce it, and he just ends up making a video titled Miss Chips where the two of you sit down and talk to the camera

“Hello my little chips! Uhm, as you can see, there’s someone sitting next to me today. Maybe you already guessed from the title, but this is...my girlfriend, Miss Chips,” cue the cute jazz hands in your direction, “We’ve been dating for a long, loooong time, right, Miss Chips?”

“I just wanted to share this with you guys, since it felt wrong to keep such an important person in my life private. I hope you’re all kind to her, because I love her dearly, even to the point of giving up my snacks...so it’s serious.”

Not really a headcanon, but here's the dead poets as little triumphs I experience in my daily life :)

Neil: getting used to Shakespeare's way of writing and starting to become independent, instead of using translations. Todd: thinking up of the perfect metaphor to fit into the poem I'm writing, with a perfect syllable count and everything. Charlie: making one of those rare jokes/smart ass comments and actually getting people to laugh out loud. Meeks: finally understanding a biology topic after fighting with it for hours. Pitts: managing to get my cat to sit in my lap and cuddle with me. Knox: after many sighs and grumbles, finding an outfit that makes me happy. Cameron: learning a piano piece of a song I like and managing to sync up my playing with the song.

DPS Headcanon 2

I stumbled upon this post by @ameliterature​ about Neil in a frog hat and I can’t get the thought out of my head, so- I present to you the different ways the poets would react to receiving a frog hat! 

(This is the type of hat I imagined btw)

Neil: Have you ever seen a happy boy? Well Neil’s the happiest boy you’ve ever seen after receiving a frog hat! His face would light up once realising what it is and would wear it immediately. He’d prance around the halls of Welton with it on and refuse to take it off for at least a month.

Todd: He wouldn’t show it, but Todd would be over the moon once having this in his grasp. He’d mutter a small thank you and proceed to wear this religiously, kind of like a comfort item. You wouldn’t see him wearing it at Welton, as he’s shy, but he’d wear it to DPS meetings and general outings.

Charlie: He is known for finding unknown uses to the presents he receives. Charlie would be very grateful for the hat, wearing it every so often to piss off Mr Nolan, but he’d use it mostly to fling it at people on campus, as well as going behind the poets and pulling it over their heads (usually Cameron).

Meeks: He isn’t sure what to do with it at first. Since Meeks is a gentleman, he’d thank you and tuck it back away in its bag. One day he’ll realise how useful it is for cold mornings and will start to wear it like any other hat throughout winter. Despite the teasing, he wouldn’t care; it does its job he says.

Pitts: Now this boy would be ecstatic. Pitts would give you a big bear hug once receiving it, placing it atop his head. Kind of a mix of Neil and Todd, he would be super happy to have this, and would wear it during study sessions and anytime he pleased. His hair would make it sit oddly, but he adored the hat.

Knox: It honestly isn’t his type of present. Knox would thank you as anyone would do. He wouldn’t use it much, except on the few days he was alone in his dorm room and decided to take funny selfies with it in the mirror. The present certainly did not go to waste.

Cameron: He would be surprised at first - no one ever gave him such a present. Cameron would give you a side smile and nod. He’d be too shy to wear this in fear of teasing, but he keeps a small box of things he treasures, and you better be damn well sure that hat is in there.

Y'know what's underrated, but brings me a lot of comfort? When someone rants about their interests or some random subject. It's so endearing. Like you felt comfortable enough to talk about something you're passionate about and you shared your joy with me!! It's the best thing ever.

Yes, give me your full analysis on this one chapter from a book you just read. Yes, describe your favourite movies in full detail and tell me what makes them extraordinary. Yes, dissect this one historic event that happened in 16th century England and give me your own theories.

I think this is important, mostly for our neurodivergent peers. When you have a hyperfixation, it's truly freeing and exciting to share your love for this one thing with someone. Let neurodivergent friends info dump and show them you appreciate it.

Kinda Lucky - Sam Golbach

You were away on a work trip when Sam broke his back and you can’t go visit him because of the quarantine in California, so as soon as you get back from the trip, Sam fills you in on all that happened and how the boys have been checking up on him.

"Oh my God! Sam! Hi!" you shout excitedly as you see your boyfriend through your phone screen, but the smile on your face soon drops when you catch a glimpse of his back brace. You felt like absolute shit for not being able to really talk to him for the past week and a half, but your job wanted you and a couple of your coworkers to go on this retreat in the mountains and you barely got to use your phones. When you did get them, you were lucky if you got service.

The first night you were gone, all hell broke loose in Los Angeles. A few nights later, you got your phone for like an hour, but you had no service. Of course, you were determined to talk to Sam for at least a few minutes, so you wandered around until you got some sort of connection and when you did, all the text messages and Twitter notifications came through.

Sammy❤️ Don't freak out but I might have broken my back

Sam Tweeted: possibly just broke my back trying to jump off my roof… might go to the hospital right now and sadly no this is not a prank

Colby Tweeted: sometimes we just take things too far

Sam was right. As soon as you saw the messages and notifications, you freaked the fuck out. If Chloe, your coworker and close friend, had not have come on this retreat, you would have completely lost your mind worrying over your not-as-smart-as-he-thinks-he-is boyfriend. But you have had her to talk to about all this thankfully. For the few seconds of service you managed to find, you tried to call Sam, but he did not answer. So, you called his other half, Colby, and he answered. The two of you only talked for like five minutes maybe but during the whole conversation, he made sure you knew that he and the guys were taking care of your Sammy by sending you messages and videos throughout your whole trip.

"Y/n! Babe! How was your retreat?" Sam returns your same enthusiastic tone when replying.

"It was good, but I feel like crap for not being able to be with you through all this," You pout, feeling the tears well up in your eyes. You bring your hands up to cover your face and attempt to calm yourself down.

"No, baby, don't cry. I am fine. See, look at me!" his cheerful voice fills your ears. Looking up at him, you see his normal bright smile shining back at you. He had a hand rested on his back brace while his other gave you a thumbs up. A giggle falls from your lips as a tear escapes your eye. You wipe it away before smiling at your boy.

"You're an idiot, you know that?" He chuckles before nodding his head.

"Trust me, I know," he says as he rests both of his hands on his brace.

"Tell me how all this shit happened anyway." He sighs before beginning the story about how he and the guys were doing this ten days of dares thing for TikTok and the dare was to jump off the roof of their house onto the big white bean bag chairs that they have. And of course, when they spun the wheel to figure out who would do it, it landed on your boyfriend, Samuel John Golbach.

"Why did you agree to do it? I mean, I know you just did the video jumping off the balcony at the apartment onto those things but this was a much farther drop and there was a soft couch underneath the bean bags, not hard ass ground," you tell him and he shrugs, not really knowing why he did it but by the look on his face, you could tell he regretted it a lot.

"I don't know. I just did it and it was pretty scary. Colby kept saying 'You're good, man. You just knocked the wind out of you.' I think he was trying to convince himself more than me that I was okay. But we went inside and iced it before deciding that we should probably go to the hospital. So, Colby took me, but he told all about that right?" You nod at him before he continues.

"They gave me this cool ass vest and the guys have been the best through all of this. Even though I didn't want a break, I feel like this made me take one because I needed it. I'm stuck in this sucker for a little over four more weeks." Before he could continue, you hear someone enter his room.

"Oh, hey Jake. What's up?" Sam asks his roommate.

"Nothing bro, just brought you a drink, man," you hear Jake’s voice as Sam reaches for the beverage.

"Thanks, man," Sam smiles at his friend.

"Hello Jake!" you shout before hearing the pair chuckle.

"Hey y/n!" He responds before leaving to let Sam and I talk, but not without giving a delicate hug to his friend with the slightly damaged spine.

"So, you're getting the royal treatment, I see?" you ask as he sips on the soda that Jake had just brought to him. He hums in response.

"Well, I saw that you're still making tiktoks and not giving your back the rest it needs," you joke, receiving a cute chuckle from the man on the other end.

"No, I have been. You know how much I hate sitting around, doing absolutely nothing, but sometimes Corey will come up here and dance for me to keep me entertained. And he and Jake both invite me to come play video games with them, even when I kick Jake's ass every time." You giggle at him.

"That's my man," you boast as he smiles at you.

"Colby will come in here a lot and make sure I have everything I need. All of them do that actually, but Colby comes in here the most. It is really funny to see them try to hug me because they are so scared that it will hurt me. It doesn't and even if it did, I wouldn't care. They all hug me a whole lot than before. Colby lays in here with me and we will talk and scroll through TikTok so I'm not all alone."

"Has Colby been giving you cuddles for me?" you ask. When you talked to Colby on the phone while you were gone, you specifically asked him to give your Samuel cuddles for you. Sam laughs at the question but shakes his head.

"I hate to break it to you, but he hasn't. He's hugged me, but I have been cuddle deprived this whole quarantine."

"That bitch. I'm adding him to this call," You say as you add him to the FaceTime call between Sam and yourself. Soon enough, Sam and Colby's faces share your screen.

"Hello you two," Colby greets the two of you with a smile.

"Cole, I asked you to do one thing," you start.

"What did I do?" He questions as his eyes widen and he runs through every possible thing in his mind that he could be in trouble for.

"It's more of what you didn't do, brother," Sam comments with a huge smile on his face. Colby rolls his eyes before returning his attention to you.

"You were supposed to cuddle him for me. He doesn't have a dog like I do, and he needs cuddles now more than ever," you pout, poking out your bottom lip. Colby sighs before getting out of his bed, leaving his room, and ending the call, so it is just you and Sam on the phone. You can hear Sam's door open, causing him to look up from his phone. He flips the camera around so that you can see his best friend standing in front of his circular shaped bed. As he turns the camera back around, Colby gets into the bed with Sam and snuggles up next to him.

"Is this what you wanted?" Colby asks as he looks up at you. You bust out laughing, nodding your head. You can't help but take a screenshot of the adorableness in front of you.

"Hey, we didn't agree to that," Colby whines before sliding away from his best friend of nine years.

"Oh, trust me. You have plenty of bad pictures of me. You'll be fine, Cole," you tease. Colby leaves after a little while of you three talking and then it's just you and Sam alone again.

"Do you know how lucky you are to have friends like you do?" you ask him to which he grins greatly. 

"I guess you could say I'm kinda lucky, but I am the luckiest guy in the world because I have you."
