pls explain the difference between suguru & nanami's caretaking im very intrigued . in fact tell it to me only anf whisper it in my ear
anon u said this so intimately it floored me a little bit âŠ. what are we âŠâŠ. NO BUT I WAS HOPING SOMEONE WOULD ASK . i think the tldr is nanami is more #Normal than suguru and also more for equality (but not in the way u might think!)âŠâŠ.
theyâre both caretakers . this needs no elaboration LOL they are upppppp there in the hierarchy of jjk mommy bfs . the key difference to me really is equality â i think nanami wants an equal relationship, and views himself as Your Partner above anything else (âwell, duhâ <- i get what youâre saying but for suguru this is Not a given). he does take care of you, he likes to provide for you, but ultimately i think he wants someone who he can Share burdens with. whether itâs your economy, chores, emotional labour â youâre a team. youâre in this together. again, thatâs not to say he wants you to do a bunch of stuff for him, but youâre Partners. you work as a pair.
âŠ. suguru views himself â at least to me â as your caretaker first, and partner second. <- this might be oversimplifying it a bit lol but ⊠i think you might get what i mean. does suguru view you as equals? yes. does he act like it?âŠâŠ. not Always. i think suguru is prone to bearing all your shared burdens Alone in a way nanami wouldnât (because he knows itâs inherently unequal⊠selfish, even). iâve said this before but suguru needs to be needed, and i think that if it was possible heâd be happy to both provide and take care of your household âŠ.. he likes to bear responsibility. over you, over your home, your economyâŠ. etcetc. i think heâd be very pleased if you offered to help, and especially with emotional burdens he needs someone who will help him bear them on rough days (even when he tries to hide how heâs feeling) â but on most days, suguru enjoys that feeling of Control. Responsibility. Duty. <- heâs big on this and i do think he views it as his Duty to Take Care of You . thatâs his (self-proclaimed) job. and i do think it could feel just a little condescendingâŠ. not that he means it too, but like . Okay so i used this as an example when i talked to my sister LMAO but if you secretly paid for your date i think nanami would be exasperated and tell you heâll be dealing with the bill next time (might take you to an even more expensive spot just to get back at you a little <3âŠ.)(basically he is ultimately rather fond) while suguru is like . twitching LMAOOO he would go ^_^đą âŠâŠ.
so . suguru is an overbearing kind of caretaker; takes his role as a caretaker very seriously, above all else. i personally feel that a big reason as to why heâs so fond of satoru is because he was needed by him, whether it was him nagging him, looking out for him, sparring with him âŠ. when suguru likes someone, he wants them to need him. preferably, theyâll always need him, more than anything else. nanami would like someone who is at least capable of being on their own / who can solve the problems you face on equals grounds. or: nanami lets you decide on what to order when you go to a new restaurant, suguru orders for you (because he knows what you like).
#does this make sense ⊠does it#im worried that im making sugu sound too toxic lol I STAND BY HIM BEING THE BEST BF !!! IDC âŠâŠ.#but i do think that level of like ⊠condescendion / his desire for codependency#is his worst trait . not for Me but for a relationship in general#uhhhh to explain it super simply suguur views himself as your caretaker. nanami just takes care of you#âŠâŠ. maybe thatâs convoluted too LOL#THANK YOU FOR ASKING ANON I ADORE YOUUUU i adore them âŠ.#suguru . ultimately the winner of the caretaker bf competitions#ask tag â©

ngl im waiting for at least a few more aphra issues until i really criticize the run but i do kinda agree w/ this (lots of thoughts in the tags . positive and negative ones but all aphra related)
#tbh i kinda expected it unfortunately . for them to ignore her growth from the 2020 run and ignore her relationship with sana n tolvan#but like heres to hoping they redeem themselves in this regard#like just not completely ignoring the previous aphra run and her development from it or her relationship with sana and tolvan#even if shes somewhat regressed#and even if they broke up between then and now . ignoring them would be so bad theyre important for aphra's character and her growth#i think they should at least appear and they should do something meaningful with them#also just in general im very curious abt how theyre doing post rotj#but criticisms and worries aside . i like the set up so far of aphra getting a job to reform#i wonder what theyre gonna do w/ that . and her boss just kinda absorbed her tattoos and i think thats funny asf for some reason#and them kicking it off with a luke and aphra adventure is fun . i love their dynamic#luke someone who is kind and sees the good in others . and the thing about that is that he CHOOSES to be kind and its not an inherent#trait to him nor is it out of naivety out of never seeing the worst out of the galaxy like aphra herself assumed before . bc he has#hes lost his uncle and aunt who raised him and friends and obiwan . and this is all in anh and when luke and aphra just met this is not eve#getting into esb or rotj and everything he had to unpack from that#and aphra is someone who lost her mother when she was young and had a father who was obsessed with an ancient jedi cult to the point of#neglect and she also got issues from the way they both raised or didnt raise her even if they loved her#and aphra believes that her cycle of betraying backstabbing or abandoning people she cares about for self gain or preservation#then feeling guilty about it is something inherent to her that she cant change#aphra and lukes dynamic was built out of the fact theyve both went through loss and tragedy and turned out as completely different people#and its very interesting to me and if you want to set up a comic with an opportunity for aphra to change from the start it makes sense#to start off with an aphra luke adventure#luke believes most of anyone can change and chooses to see the good in people#while aphra believes she cant change and sees the worst in herself . its a great set up for a dynamic#especially as they grow and parts of their dynamic shift but theres still that set up and everything#roger roger general sw thoughts#roger roger reads sw comics#doctor aphra 2025 liveblog tag#<- not a liveblog but i wanna keep these thoughts on this tag

now say i'm the only one you need
ranking the bllk men on how good of a boyfriend they are ft. isagi yoichi, bachira meguru, chigiri hyoma, nagi seishiro, mikage reo, itoshi rin, itoshi sae, karasu tabito, otoya eita, yukimiya kenyu, michael kaiser, alexis ness
song from here listen to it to get a kiss from me
àŒ isagi: 10/10
one third of the âperfect boyfriend trio.â heâs incredibly attentive of all your needs and overall is very good at balancing his soccer career with your relationship. dictionary definition of âwalk him like a dog.â anything you say goes and heâs more than happy with things being that way. actually has a pretty high tolerance for whatever things you might put him through, he tends to be good at solving problems before they can spiral out of control. the most youâll have to deal with is the fact he can be kind of on the more awkward and shy side of things, unsure how to really be in a relationship. he wasnât really popular or well known at all before blue lock, so at most he had crushes that were one-sided. his friends joke and tease about how youâve got him wrapped around your finger. he doesnât even care that theyâre right.
àŒ bachira: 9/10
the thing with bachira is that youâre not gonna date him unless youâre okay with all of his quirks, so thereâs really nothing âbadâ or unexpected going into the relationship. at his worst he can be clingy and a smidge overbearing, but heâs terrified of you deciding you want something more, better than him. heâs very easy going because of this, and really wonât have any disagreements with whatever ideas strike you. youâre actually a rock in this life, and he feels safe confiding all the thoughts clawing at his mind when heâs being held in your arms. despite what people may think, he does have a calmer temperament to him - generally after practice or late at night. heâs a big cuddle bug and will most likely fall asleep on your stomach, clinging to you so you canât leave him.
àŒ chigiri: 5/10
rose-glasses off, chigiri kinda sucks. heâs very selfish without the whole egoist thing going on, and itâs confirmed in canon that a lot of people get turned off by his personality after being drawn in by his looks. he obviously has some interest in you if youâre dating, but that doesnât mean his bad traits magically go away. his mindset is very âme before you.â if youâre arguing heâs going to bring up points for the sole purpose of hurting you because he has to be right. he has too much pride to admit when he's wrong but also to apologize for his actions. on the opposite side of that, though, is compliments and the like are easy for him to give you. heâs pretty open with his opinions so if he likes a certain thing about you he has no qualms with telling you as such. he would never deny you're dating and generally likes to show you off, wanting everyone to know he bagged an incredible person. heâs not the worst person to date, but it probably wonât be worth anything as a long term relationship.
àŒ nagi: 6/10
nagi is my favorite character and thatâs why i need to say this. he does have some merit for what itâs worth. heâs very physically affectionate and is also really easy to be around. i see him as being more open to compromise if youâre stern enough with him. he might complain a bit but heâs not that hard to convince. the biggest issue with him is that he just⊠doesnât care. if he goes to a new cafe with you itâs cause you asked him, not because he wanted to. itâs not that he doesnât love you, he just doesnât process things like this in his brain. the concept of âdoing things for your partner before they askâ doesnât click. heâs not a mind reader, so isnât just being vocal about what you want the easiest? he doesnât really expect much from you as a partner so easily grows confused at why you have these random demands and expectations from him when you know exactly how he is. it might not be a dealbreaker, but it does make you question if heâs ever actually enjoying his time with you.
àŒ reo: 8/10
reoâs biggest issues are 1.) he's absurdly jealous and 2.) his money. the thing with his money is the fact he uses it almost as a deflector of sorts. if you have a genuine problem you need to sort out with him, he's giving you new jewelry, designer bags, dinners at michelin star restaurants instead of talking it out. he doesnât want to give you the chance to bring up your displeasure in regards to something heâs done. itâs his default answer because itâs the only thing people have wanted from him. reo is actually very scared of conflict. heâs worried youâll leave him at the first sign of him not being the picture perfect boyfriend thatâs expected from him, which ties into the jealousy. if someone has a trait you admire, heâll mold himself to fit that thing you seem to like. he hates when you even acknowledge other peopleâs talents or attractive features (save for nagi.) speaking of nagi, itâs played out but i do believe heâs the only person reo will share you with. if nagi wants to cuddle, kiss, act like your boyfriend, reo has no issue as long as heâs involved too. when youâre someone reo truly loves, heâll let you do pretty much anything to him with no repercussions. itâs very easy to take advantage of him as long as you promise stay by his side.
àŒ rin: 7/10
no matter how much he denies it, rin tries very hard to be sae. he wants to be the nonchalant boyfriend, never losing his cool and making it seem like youâre always running back for more. in truth, he couldnât be more obvious about how badly he needs you. he has this sort of non-stop identity crisis going so heâs going to have this front of âfine with you, fine without you.â he wants you to think he doesnât need you that bad because heâs worried youâll see him as weak. the thing that makes it obvious is that when youâre threatening to leave because heâs just too hot and cold, he caves instantly. teeth gritted, heâll ask what you want him to change, what kind of person should he be for you? after sae, he became so desperately starved for love that the second you started dating he felt like he was suffocating, always needing your validation but unable to ask for it. similarly to reo, heâs easy to take advantage of if you insinuate that youâre unhappy with something currently in your relationship. be gentle because you can break him apart and heâll always think it was his fault.
àŒ sae: 9/10
iâm gonna go against the grain and say that sae is actually a great boyfriend because he wouldnât bother getting into a relationship to begin with if he didnt think itâs worth his time. heâs an incredibly self assured person so he has no reason to be all wishy-washy with who heâs interested. saeâll make it clear he wants to date you and obviously youâre reciprocating because duh, heâs sae itoshi. from the get go heâll remind you that soccer is his career, his lifeblood, and while he loves you more, his priorities lay there. the fact he straight up admits it instead of letting it become a festering issue is exactly why heâs so good because neither of you will have wasted time in the relationship. heâs also easier to talk to than one might think. sae generally believes drawn out arguments are pointless and wasting energy on them doesnât help anyone, so any that you two have are squashed pretty quickly. affection comes pretty easily to him but he can be a little emotionally absent at his worst. itâs not really something that changes over time, but he has other methods of making sure you know he adores you. itâs very ïżœïżœwhat you see is what you get.â if youâre acquainted with him at all, thereâs really no negative surprises or unexpected twists that put a damper on the romance between you both. if nothing else, he makes sure the whole world know exactly who you belong to, and it leaves you with no room to doubt he plans to keep you by his side forever.
àŒ karasu: 10/10
one third of the âperfect boyfriend trio.â this is generally a shock to people who know the kind of company he keeps around but the thing is that karasu doesnât approve of otoyaâs behavior. he goes from insinuating otoya could be doing better things with his time than leading girls on to flat out telling him heâs pathetic for not holding down a relationship. most of the girls who have their hearts broken by otoya fall in love with karasu right after from how kindly he treats them and the way he apologizes for his friends nasty habits. karasu holds a lot of respect for you as a person since heâs attracted to people he can analyze and read into. a common bonding activity is just him asking your opinions on certain topics or how youâd approach a theoretical situation and heâll sit back and listen, trying to dig into your mind. heâs also very self aware of his flaws and will admit he isnât perfect but is always working to better himself (âhis weakness is that he can't be nice to people he thinks are mediocre and knows he needs to fix that.â) itâs not like youâll never have issues, but he always resolves them in a way that doesnât add tension or doubt to your relationship. heâs also good with all 5 love languages and prefers to show them all to you, but if you have ones you prefer or dislike then he can easily adjust. heâs always listening to you, learning about you, wanting to be the best version of himself he can for you.
àŒ otoya: 6/10
the glaring bone of contention with otoya is obvious to anyone who knows him - but not in the way you think. otoya can be a good boyfriend if he wants ; he knows what girls like, what makes them happy, how to keep them satisfied. heâs had enough practice for it to be second nature. once you're in a genuine relationship with him, heâs going to treat you pretty well. thing is - thatâs exactly his problem. in the back of your head you know why heâs so good at this. you know youâre an idiot for thinking you can change him despite the fact you did. itâs just impossible to believe. every time he tries to reassure you that yes, youâre his only, he doesnât want to go back to his old ways, youâre just staring at him thinking to yourself, âwonder how many times heâs used this line on someone.â youâre just never going to have a sense of security with him because thereâs always this lingering "what if" bouncing around. the worst part is that itâs not an unreasonable line of thought. mindless paranoia is one thing, but thereâs so much proof against him that youâd be more humiliated for assuming he isnât cheating on you - you canât date a serial cheater and be really that mad or shocked if he does. you know what you signed up for accepting his confession, so your entire viewpoint is that itâs a matter of âwhenâ and not âifâ. you can never ever say with full confidence he's 100% yours, even when he is.
àŒ yukimiya: 10/10
one third of the âperfect boyfriend trio.â i know itâs like beating a dead horse since this is a commonly shared sentiment but he really is incredible. a big part of the reason why is actually the fact heâs emotionally mature. heâs in tune with how he feels and knows how to convey it respectfully but isnât so set in his ways he canât see what points you want to make if you were to disagree on something. something else is that heâs very good at reading your micro-behaviors and can fall in line pretty well with how you act without compromising his own personality (in comparison to how someone like bachira or alexis would.) if you tend to be on the shyer side, not really one to defend yourself, he has no issue stepping in and solving whatever problem is going on. on the flip if you are more outgoing and not scared to bite at people then he'll fall back, only intervening when he can sense thingsâll get ugly if he doesnât tug on your leash a little bit. something he particularly enjoys doing is picking up hobbies or skills that you enjoy or would appreciate. heâll learn how to cook if you hate it or asks you to read your favorite books to him at night, wrapped in his arms while he presses a gentle kiss against your temple.Â
àŒ kaiser: 4/10 to 8/10Â
the thing with kaiser is that heâs a really good boyfriend, but you have to go through hell to get to that point. he has so many walls and has all these little âtestsâ where he tries to catch you using him for his money, status, looks, etc. kaiser wants to convince himself that love obviously isnât real ; look at his parents for godâs sake. so heâs always trying to plan some âgotchaâ thing and catch you in the act. the issue is, he doesnât. youâre really like this from the bottom of your heart and he canât wrap his head around that fact. so he goes to the emotion he knows best - anger. heâs lashing out at you for lying to him, accusing you of all sorts of things because surely thereâs no way this is real, that he has something fully his, someone who cherishes him and sees him for his best. this entire process isnât a few months either - this is a good two or three years. he has a lot of built up trauma to navigate both on his own and with you. if you somehow have the conviction to get through this then heâll be a really incredible guy to have around. he loves you so fiercely that heâd rather die than let the one good thing heâs been gifted to slip from his fingers, but everyone in your life is going to hate him by then and insist he hasnât changed, feeling like youâre going to eventually be broken by him.
àŒ alexis: ?/10
alexis is actually pretty similar to bachira, just more extreme. in any other context, his obsessions would be viewed as something of concern or distasteful but dating alexis means you already would know about it and in turn only get into a relationship if you were okay with it. itâs not as if his attachment to kaiser is a secret. if youâre going in with the âi can fix himâ mentality then youâve doomed yourself already. you have to already accept his quirks and such to really reach him in a way that matters. a relationship with him is this unending back and forth. you're actually not really going to be viewed as this untouchable deity because he's already yours. he doesn't have to prove his worth like with kaiser. the thing is that kaiser molded who he is now so kaiser is kind of his tie to humanity - without him, alexis doesnât really have much keeping him tied to earth. donât think youâre not important to him because and heâs going to insane lengths for you to accept his unhealthy outlets of showing his love and devotion to you. he feels so much more human with you because youâre giving him the attention that he has to beg kaiser for but without the requirements to earn it - you just love him naturally. heâs not trying to prove that he deserves your love, heâs trying to prove that he loves you just as much back but he doesnât know how to do it normally. he doesnât know how to offer himself to you in a way that isnât self destructive. heâs stuck in this non-stop cycle of you trying to convince him he doesnât need to like earn your love and him thinking that itâs you saying heâs not doing enough to to earn your love and thus he goes to more extremes. if you can handle it then heâs great for you, youâll never question that heâs madly in love with you. but if you get overwhelmed then he grows more unstable, and youâre stuck trying to make him better while he makes himself worse to hopefully get you to finally praise him for shattering who he is.

banners : @fawndollie and @saradika-graphics
Hogwarts had seen its fair share of chaos: trolls in bathrooms, flying cars, Quidditch riots, and Fred and George Weasleyâs existence in general. But it was woefully unprepared for you.
You arrived on a rainy Tuesday morning with wind in your coat and fire in your stride, eyes sharp as phoenix flame. A transfer from Castelobruxo, the Brazilian wizarding school nestled in the jungleâwhere students tamed magical beasts before breakfast and performed wandless magic with the grace of dancers.
You were thunder wrapped in charm.
Hermione Granger liked you immediately.
âShe reads three books a week and corrects professors when they misquote theory,â she whispered in awe to Harry at breakfast. âWeâre practically soulmates.â
Harry, whose spoon had been halfway to his mouth, dropped it and scowled.
âBrilliant,â he muttered. âAnother overachiever. As if one wasnât enough.â
Ron blinked. âJealous much?â
âNo,â Harry snapped too quickly. âShe just⊠looks like sheâd hex someone for sneezing too loudly.â
âShe saved Neville from a rogue Bludger yesterday.â
âShe also called me âScarboy Supremeâ in the library.â
Hermione hummed. âYes, but she smiled when she said it.â
And that was the problem.
Because every time you tossed a smug quip Harryâs way, you smiled like a secret. And Harry, poor boy, kept falling for it.
ââ .âŠ
You were infuriating.
You hummed while working, corrected his wand grip without asking, and once said, "Your disarming spell is cute. Like a kitten trying to roar."
You left feathers in his inkpot. Charmed his robes to sing Celestina Warbeck when he got too cocky. You always looked too amused, too untouched by his scowls.
And the worst part?
You were brilliant. Better than him in Charms. Equally sharp in Defense. Fast on a broom. And you laughed like the sun got caught in your throat.
Harry couldnât stand it.
He also couldnât look away.
ââ .âŠ
âSheâs annoying.â
âYouâre in love with her,â Hermione said simply, not looking up from Advanced Arithmancy.
Harry sputtered. âExcuse me?â
âAnyone with a functioning brain can see it,â she added, underlining a line. âYou hate her like a Victorian poet hates the moonâloudly, obsessively, while penning love sonnets behind a curtain.â
Ron choked on his biscuit. âHe what?â
âI do not write sonnets!â
âPlease,â Hermione said dryly. âYou literally wrote âHer eyes are like bottled lightningâ in the margins of your Transfiguration notes.â
Harry turned red.
âThat was metaphorical!â
âSure, Potter.â
ââ .âŠ
And then came the snowball incident.
It was the first snowfall of December. Students frolicked. Couples kissed under enchanted mistletoe. Hogwarts looked like a greeting card. And you were perched on a bench in the courtyard, scarf draped like you were posing for an autumn fashion catalogue.
Harry was watching you again.
He didnât mean to. His eyes just gravitated toward you like they were bewitched.
You were readingâof course you wereâand twirling your wand in that dangerous way that made boys stupid and girls swoon. He scowled.
You looked up.
Smirked.
And flicked your wand.
BAMâa snowball slapped him directly across the face.
Harry sputtered. You grinned.
âOh dear,â you said sweetly. âDid I hit something important?â
He stomped over, red-cheeked, snow in his hair. âYou are a menace.â
âAnd you are terrible at ducking.â
âYou did that on purpose.â
âI know,â you said, too brightly. âBecause I like seeing you flustered.â
Harry opened his mouth. Closed it. Considered his life choices.
And then, before he could talk himself out of it, he flung a snowball at you.
It missed.
You laughed.
God, that laugh.
Harry swore his heart was no longer his own.
ââ .âŠ
Later that eveningâŠ
âYouâre smiling,â Hermione said, her eyes not leaving her book.
âNo, Iâm not.â
âSnow in your hair. Glitter on your robes. And youâre humming. Harry, be serious.â
Ron nodded solemnly. âOnly two people make you this weird: Cho Chang and Butterbeer. And you donât look sticky.â
Harry buried his face in his arms. âI hate her.â
âYou love her.â
âDo not.â
âShe called you pretty.â
âShe called me a sentient broomstick.â
âShe also asked you to walk her to the Owlery.â
Harry groaned. âShe made me walk her to the Owlery. Said I had âstalker energyâ and might as well make myself useful.â
âAnd you went.â
ââŠShut up.â
ââ .âŠ
Confession came by accident.
Well, by accident and a rogue Truth Charm gone wrong during Slughornâs New Yearâs Party.
âTell us your deepest desire,â Seamus challenged Harry with a giggle, waving the glittering vial.
âDonât drink thatââ Hermione warned.
But it was too late.
Harry, flustered, dramatic, utterly cursed, downed the potion like an idiot.
âIâm in love with her,â he blurted.
The room froze.
âMerlinâs pants,â Ron whispered.
Harry looked horrified. âI mean, I hate her. Violently. With feelings. That live in my chest. Like traitors.â
Youâstanding nearbyâblinked.
Then walked right up to him.
And kissed him.
It was soft. Hot. Terrifying.
Like finally touching fire youâve stared at too long.
âGod,â you whispered. âYouâre so slow, Potter.â
âYou knew?â he asked, dazed.
âI've been in love with you since you tripped over your shoelaces and called me a 'hex-hazard.'â
Harry smiled.
He was doomed.
He was delighted.
ââ .âŠ
The Aftermath
You still called him Scarface. He still charmed your books to hum. But now, there were stolen kisses in hidden alcoves, smirks behind held hands, and whispered âI love youâ spoken like dares.
âI still hate you,â he said once, breathless, forehead against yours.
âI hate you more,â you replied, kissing him again.
And somehow, that meant forever.

What's the actual relationship between Karlheinz and Ayato's like? Did Ayato always hated his dad? Did he forgive his dad?
(Hi admin~ Hope you're doing well đ)
// Hey, I am! I hope youâre doing well too! đ
As for your questions⊠Ayato might truly have the most complicated relationship with Karlheinz.
At first, Ayato disliked Karlheinz for personal reasons: being a neglectful father and husband. As a child longing for love and attention, Ayatoâs pain ran deep, though it hadnât yet turned to hate. But as he grew older and uncovered the full extent of Karlâs actions, his resentment became hatred. This is so important because Ayato, despite his arrogant exterior, is profoundly empathetic. Heâs willing to forgive those who wrong him, as he's already done more than once, likely because he's learned to carry his own pain and move on. But when someone ruins other people without feeling any sort of remorse, that crosses a line he canât overlook. (first pic)
Ayato is pretty much the only one who can call Karlheinz out in a way that actually hits him. In his MB good ending, when Ayato tells him âI pity you for being unable to realize the joy that comes from having someone love you to death,â Karlheinz is left speechless. That moment isnât loud or dramatic, but itâs powerful, since for the first time, Karlheinz is really forced to face what heâs lost. And most likely, he envies Ayato for having something heâll never get back. The wild part is that Karlheinz doesnât try to brush it off or chuckle about it, he just... accepts it. He even tells Ayato not to make the same mistake. Thereâs a quiet kind of respect there, maybe even a touch of pride buried under all that regret. That moment feels different because Karlheinz finally looks at someone (Ayato) not just as another piece in his chess set. Out of all his sons, Ayato is the one Karlheinz sees as a glimpse of what he couldâve been, if heâd chosen love over his plans. (second and third pics)
In LE, after Ayato dies, itâs kind of surprising that he still wants to see Karlheinz, but at the same time, it makes a lot of sense. Heâs still traumatized about what happened to him and needs someone to vent to. Ayatoâs always been someone who needs interactions. Whether he's teasing someone, protecting them, or showing love in his own way, those relationships make him love life. But now that Ayatoâs lonely, even the worst connection feels better than no connection at all. Heâs always been afraid of being left truly alone, so with nothing left, heâs reaching for the only thing he remembers still being there: his father. (fourth pic)
In the CL bad ending, after Ayato fails to escape the miniature garden, we finally see something new on Karlâs face: regret. Usually, in bad endings, Karl either punishes those who fail or shows disappointment before rewinding time. But here, just by looking at his expression, you can tell thereâs something different. Itâs like a part of him actually feels sorry and perhaps heâs realizing it wasnât entirely Ayatoâs fault that things ended the way they did. (fifth pic)

Credit to: dialovers-translations and kyouxa
We know that, to Karlheinz, Ayato is the ideal Adam candidate, as shown here, but what really gets to me is that Ayato is the only Sakamaki who can rewind time even after death, just like Karlheinz himself. And that ability is basically Karlâs signature trait. It honestly feels like Rejet was pushing the âHeâs the most like his fatherâ narrative, which is pretty unsettling, especially when you think about everything Karl put him through in YB and throughout the franchise in general. Yet, I suppose it canât be helped, given that Rejet is known for making everything messed up, lol.

What do you think of The Owl House? Like, I liked and respect Dana a lot for what she's accomplished, but I also feel like everyone is just pretending that the show doesn't have any problems, as I felt that the cast was always very poorly developed from the beginning.
I like the show, I don't love it, but i think it's pretty good. TOH has a lot of really cool world building and lore, but I also found a lot of the characters really lacking. Three of my biggest annoyances were Luz, the characters having altered personalities after one episode and the underutilization of Luz's friends.
I think Luz is actually a great protagonist, my issue is when the show really loves to tease her as this flawed and morally complicated protagonist when... she isn't? any time she does something bad, its completely accidental. It's funny when the show first came out and people negatively compared her to Mabel because Mabel actually did make a lot of selfish and careless decisions that she had to grow from.
The show also had a bizarre habit of giving characters new personalities after their first appearance, and I think Amity is the worst offender of this. Her first appearance she's the generic mean girl bully, and this is used to create conflict and for Luz to befriend Willow. But then after that, all of a sudden she's super "cold" and keeps to herself, and the characters act like she's just the popular quiet girl? and then the show has the audacity to blame a lot of the bullying Amity did on her friends and parents. I have no clue why the flashback episodes portrayed it like Amity just watched as her friends bullied Willow, SHE was a part of that! Similar issue with Hunter. Introduced as a snarky brat, and then his next appearance he's incredibly angsty and depressed so the audience could sympathize with him. Willow and the Collector were also ones that stuck out to me, but it was a change that was subtle enough that I didn't notice.
I don't know why writers do this. I like it when your characters are messy and flawed, give them unlikable traits so we can watch them slowly be better people. Don't tell me someone is flawed and then don't give them flaws and don't tell me to sympathize with a character by just giving them a new personality.
I think everyone is pretty aware of how poorly utilized Luz's friends are but there are seriously so many episodes where I was like "why aren't Willow and Guz taking Amity's place". They really feel like a studio mandate.
Also Lumity is kind of boring but honestly, I don't really think its as big of a deal as some fans think it is. Lots of cartoons have straight couples that quarrel, get together and their relationship isn't the most compelling in the world, but its still pretty cute. If anything I do wish Amity would work through her issues more than have what little personality she had disappear when she dated Luz.
With your point about how fans handle criticism, admittedly I think part of the reason why people don't want to admit the show's problem is because Disney fucked it over MASSIVELY and it feels like punching down (at least to them). I think there's a very common mentality of "is it fair to criticize a show that never really got a chance to fully find its stride?"
But I also know this is just a massive problem with shows that have queer characters in general. There's just this prevalent attitude that if you have a problem with a piece of media that also happens to have queer characters, it means you're "ungrateful" or trying to insult it on purpose. Though personally, I think TOH fans are a lot better at handling and giving criticism.

what do they do with mythal in datv that makes her a very very bad fucking case of misogyny?
aside from completely dropping her whole divine retribution plotline that's been hinted at for like 3 games (and tbh i could accept that as like. just a symptom of the other plotlines that were dropped due to the dev cycle) which many many maaaany people view as a significant whitewashing of her character to soften her for her new role in the story a la fiona.
the way she was used as a prop to take all of the blame of solas' actions off him and then proceeding to coyly hint at a maybe maybe-not relationship with him was. look when you're writing a super popular male romance option, you know how fandom is going to receive outside """competition""" and nothing will eeeeever convince me that wasn't a deliberate choice on bioware's part. she's both a convenient scapegoat to preserve solas' moral purity for his fans, and also the designated 'bitchy ex girlfriend', but ALSO not really ^_^ their relationship is ambiguous and based the ancient elvhen social norm where love was a freeform thing that didn't adhere to the same boundaries we understand today. no need to feel threatened! he didn't actually love her like he loves you
all of these as like. individual elements on their own aren't inherently bad or necessarily even misogynistic in their execution, but the more you stack together the less coincidental it seems to become. and this is after the popularity of baldurs gate 3 where there's this HUGE culture of misogyny and vitriol towards mystra that people feel vindicated in because of her unhealthy relationship with the popular male love interest gale. it just doesn't at all feel like they just Happened to hit every single point that people want from a female character to hate in order to justify a male character's bad choices, especially when almost every single one of her character traits have been altered from what we previously understood about her and how her motivations were presented. to me it was very clearly a very lazy attempt to appease solavellans by playing on fandom misogyny so they feel less bad about the weird shift in his characterization and his relationship to the inquisitor. i also go into more about this here if you're curious
and i could be paranoid about the above just out of a general cynicism from fandom culture in general. but then there's also the way they softened her by downplaying the justice angle of her god persona in favor of making her represent "benevolence" instead. it not only does not line up at all with 1) how we understand her character from previous games, 2) how she is interpreted by the dalish in their tales (yes the dalish were wrong about many things, but from a doylist perspective we know that the purpose of these stories is to establish a vague underlying framework of who these gods might have been and what their roles were. it's an extremely clumsy retcon) and 3) it doesn't even line up with her brand new characterization in the game itself. it just seems like a very sloppy attempt to water her character down into something less harsh than she was initially established to be, while also simultaneously trying to give her the veneer of complexity and depth through her mistreatment of solas specifically so he seems less cartoonishly evil for everything he does in datv.
at best it's lazy, at worst it's a deliberate appeal to fandom misogyny. either way it was a VERY poorly handled character choice that reduces a female character to her relation to a man and how she serves his story

Iâve recently rewatched dl and I wanted to find out if you had any thoughts on Pearl and Scottâs dynamic.. (double life or general idm)
BOY DO I. SIT DOWN
I've talked lots about Scott before, of how he twists the narrative the most and treats most relationships more as transactional. I will now immediately follow that sentence up with dear god please don't assume I hate Scott he's so interesting and compelling PLEASE don't think I hate him I beg of you I LIKE HIM I don't think he's evil and a villain he's just a bit fucked up like everyone else PLEASE just. believe me
Me ^
Anyway now that that's out of the way. Scott I think has an innate need for connection but denies it in favor of weaving his own narrative that he is in control of, especially so in Third Life where to me, it feels like he sought out to find a tragic love story and he got exactly that, from his perspective anyway, what with the final sequence of him meeting Jimmy again in some imagined afterlife, the one part that was scripted and it shows. Love is a variable that he can't afford the risk of. I think the story with Jimmy that he weaved was more important to him than genuine affection. In Double Life he admits to having whittled Jimmy down to nothing in order to get something from him. But then along comes Last Life
In Last Life, whatever it was, something about Pearl really appealed to him if even subconsciously and he very genuinely cared about her imo. And that was a relationship that oddly enough started as purely transactional yet quickly developed into the most meaningful one I think Scott has had. Even when he faltered in returning Pearl's affection fully, Pearl didn't care and stood by him. Well exemplified by the time he kind of froze when Pearl was boogey killed by Lizzie, but Pearl didn't even think to hold his inaction against him. (Especially fun contrasted with Pearl accidentally breaking the rules in killing boogey Joel for killing Scott lol). ADDENDUM: I forgot that it was because of Scott's encouragement that Pearl ended up killing Joel, which could have been the first indication of Scott having it out for Joel, or he was just being petty (because he very much is, as are many of the others, he's just good at masking it). Nonetheless my point stands when contrasted with Scott freezing up when Pearl was killed by Lizzie whereas Pearl had defended Scott adamantly
But all of that was the variable that Scott sought to avoid, so in Double Life he immediately uses what he can as an excuse to ostracize Pearl, almost as if to punish her for the crime of. loving? And I'm not about to claim that Pearl is wholly innocent but I'd argue that was unwarranted. Cleo and Scott are a great dynamic in a vacuum but unfortunately Cleo is also quite terrible (but then who isn't. It's a death game, they all are. Sorry I have to keep making these remarks because otherwise I get labelled a hater) and unfortunately fuels all the worst traits in Scott while Scott very readily sticks to her. They remain an encouraging pillar to Scott, it's just that the things being encouraged are like. Their ritual to slice each other with axes at full force just to stick it to Martyn and Pearl. Pearl often gets compared to Scott as equally physically harmful but idk personally I don't think the snow bucket compares to start-of-every-session-near-death-axe-crit routine. That's again not to say that she's innocent
Upon Scott spreading completely unfounded claims about her being crazy and malicious, she starts to adopt those claims. What else is she to do to get by? She has been nice to most players and nearly none of them want her around because of rumors despite her causing harm on accident at worst. She comes close to finally finding friends in Jimmy (Tango as well but mostly Jimmy), but ruins her chances by briefly playing into Martyn's "prank" and giving him Jimmy's horn without realizing it's importance to Jimmy, after which Jimmy tells her that she's no longer welcome on the ranch. She's effectively lost everyone and it is 90% due to Scott, not due to her actually acting the way she's claimed to as she only starts to go down that path after repeated rejection (sure she let herself be physically hurt to get at Scott, but it wasn't because of malice or having lost her mind, her doing so was reasonable anyhow but got twisted into something it wasn't. It's still wrong on her part and I do think she goes at least a bit insane as Scarlet Pearl surfaces, but the point is that she wasn't that when Scott started painting her that way)
Even in the very end, Scott retains control. He retained control of not only his narrative but contributed to most others' as well, painting Pearl as the exact character he wanted her to be known as in every POV outside of her own. And as they stand face to face as the last two survivors, Scott denies her any chance to change things, taking his own life instead whilst painting himself as noble in doing so
Scott is incredibly self-sacrificial but only when he gets something out of it, and because it allows him yet more control. He wants to be able to control when he dies, and he also gets to turn it into utmost grandiose statements of nobleness when he does, which then changes others' perception of him accordingly and directly or indirectly allows Scott to get something in exchange. His suicide in DL is no different, it was for him, not for Pearl
In Secret Life Scott also instils the idea of Pearl being untrustworthy in Gem
Wild Life. grrrr. Wild Life.............clenches fist. Pearl's personal hell
I think you can infer I was. scared to say the least about Pearl upon seeing her alliance in Wild Life. In the end though I ended up just being immensely sad and disappointed. Just about nothing worked out for Pearl, only for her trauma to be mocked repeatedly by Scott and Cleo
Pearl imo shows so many signs of regression, and she holds onto Impulse as the one member of her team that isn't actively taunting her, making it a goal for herself to see Impulse win, and it is that: for her, for anything to go her way, not so much for Impulse as much as she does genuinely care for him. She really doesn't spend that much time with him, she just needs a goal to work towards for her own sake. Pearl being unstable, untrustworthy and especially pathetic are all things that continue to get enforced within the alliance, where she's often spoken to like a ticking time bomb and the team's destructiveness gets relegated to her specifically. She recognizes not feeling good about it but she doesn't recognize everything that's at play in the social dynamics of their alliance or the extent of it
She becomes scared of people becoming resentful of her were she to make mistakes all the while Scott and Cleo start enabling her worst tendencies, aka Scarlet Pearl. They don't do this a large degree but they do make an explicit point of it, or at least Cleo does. Cleo is also however, if even vaguely, trying to mend the relationship between her and Pearl, where they occasionally encourage and defend her although it's not to a significant enough degree for Pearl to really realize. After Gem's death, Cleo is also there to help although Pearl is too distraught to appreciate it
While Gem's largely the catalyst for the "pathetic" notion that Pearl adopts to her detriment over the course of Wild Life, it only affects Pearl as strongly as it does due to her having gone through what she has, and because she's in a largely unloving alliance that fuels and reminds her of her wrongdoing. Just compare her mental state here to the one in Secret Life with the Mounders. Although it does have importance to her because she seeks reconciliation, she isn't allowed to forget about Double Life, she's not allowed to heal and grow around the grief of what's happened to her
And the final two notable incidents in her and Scott's relationship are 1. Her being made to feel like she needs to kill Scott, which she doesn't and ends up picking her own method of killing him to retain any semblance of choice, and 2. best summarized by my friend's Pearl POV analysis: "Scott is wearing my clothes. instead of villainizing me, our âreconciliationâ has encouraged him to embrace the qualities he thinks I represent. he matches me, and we donât talk about our past"
I state again that I like Scott, I like Cleo, I don't think they're evil or villains, at the very least in no cut-and-dry way. They're flawed and compelling and although I feel sad for Pearl and see Scott as largely at fault for what's happened to her, I care about Scott too and he's easily in the top 5 of most intricate Life characters to me that I enjoy dissecting
You know like. enjoying any character in any other fandom that is morally reprehensible in any way. I don't know why that's such a wild concept in traffic but sigh. I have to disclaim this unfortunately

Hello Miss Raven!!!
First of all, I wanna tell you I'm a great fan of your work, it helps me understand better a world that I love, so please don't stop doing it!
Secondly, I wanna know if you know of the existence of the 34 pages long essay of L*ona and your opinion on it due to the love-hate relationship you have with him.
Thank you once again for all that you do and I hope you have a really great year!!!!!
AAaaAAAAaAHHhhhHHHH, thank you for your kind words!! I've had my ups and downs with this fandom, but for the most part I've enjoyed my time here and very much intend to stick around~ Before I get to my thoughts, I'd like to give credit to @/arledrone, who I believe is the owner and author of said 34-page L*ona document! Thanks for penning this all the way back in... what, 2022?? For us to rediscover and read now in 2025 ^^
First thing's first, the document is actually quite old, so obviously there's a lot of materials missing (the Savanaclaw manga, light novel, the completed book 6, all the book 7 content, the new and relevant events/cards/voice lines/vignettes that have come out since then, etc. I'm of the belief that we don't necessarily need to look at this, as the point of the document seems to be pointing out Leona's very slow growth (and sometimes regression back to his worst traits) over the course of the content that was avaliable up until the point of the document's publication.
I won't bore you by regurgitating everything in the document; I'll just point at some things I found notable!
For the most part, I agree with the broad strokes and general interpretations of how Leona's character is presented. He's very complex and you often have to look beyond what he's initially claiming because he has ulterior motives or intentionally tries to act tough to conceal his own insecurities and vulnerabilities. (However, I did find the document a little difficult to follow in the beginning because it kind of felt like meandering with no clear topic or order of topics being established, just several paragraphs of listing Leona's traits without giving concrete examples to back them up? I guess the examples were provided eventually... still, I feel the document could have been edited and condensed a bit. The flow improved considerably when we got into summarization of the vignettes, book 2, and events.)
OP made very similar points as myself, such as saying that Leona isn't specifically after the crown, but what the crown represents (though this conclusion is common among L*ona fans). I was pleasantly surprised to even see them proposing that how others view Leona negatively may even be self-imposed--I had suggested the same thing a few years ago, but haven't seen this idea (or this particular phrasing) gain traction. I think my favorite parts of the document were comparing and contrasting Leona's reactions to criticism (in his School Uniform vignette vs in Fairy Gala). Vil appears as a major point of contention in both and serves as an excellent obstacle to challenge the arrogant and hard-headed Leona. I've compared the two before, and I think that helps to explain why Vil and Leona so often clash. Vil's the perfect person to go toe-to-toe with Leona, call him out for his BS, and push him to "be better". Fans frequently complain about how it feels like the OB boys didn't change significantly following their books--but they have, and they are, you just have to be willing to do the work to dig it up because the main story alone is not sufficient. It's a subtle thing, 'blink and you'll miss it' moments. All the main story can do is tell you "Leona is now consistently training with his team" and, "Leona is now getting off his ass to pitch in with physical labor". Book 6 certainly did a good job of showing us his development, but a lot of it I wager is personal reflection, and that's not going to always be easy to spot of manifest in a tangible, easy-to-see way, especially given how little we interact with the guy directly. We should be more cognizant that character change can happen off-screen (ie not in the main story) and outside of the presence of Yuu, and is not automatic or done in huge leaps. I think I would have liked it if Leona's minor roles were also touched on, but I understand why they were left out. It's a lot of information to look through, and there was less value in events like Beans Day, Ghost Marriage, etc. compared to instances where he was far more proactive. I'd argue that the times where he doesn't feature as a main character serve to characterize him a lot as well (and thus have their value) though; he uses his cunning to find an "easy way" to victory (even if it ended up failing in the end), he gets competitive with Vil over something he doesn't even care about due to his deeply rooted superiority complex, etc.
That about summarizes my thoughts! Apologizes if it was short, it was tough to really comment on stuff since at that point Iâd only be repeating whatâs written in the document.

Not to be rude but you accidentally put val's story in vox's masterlist instead. Srry I didn't feel comfy dming you. Nothing against you at all I'm just a coward wanting to hide in anon haha. Ig while I'm here could I get vox general hcs pls?

What the Tv do? â Vox General Headcanon + Drabbles (SFW & NSFW)
â Vox General headcanon + Vox x Gn!Reader(Employee!Reader??):
Some general thoughts about the tv man and also his relationship with the âreaderâ. This is silly, this is fun, fluffy and smutty.
Warnings: Mature Content, Not Proofread, Drinking, Death(literally overdose on coffe nothing gruesome), Drug use(c0caine and others substances), Sadistic Tendencies, Dub-Con, Power Imbalance/Power Play, Obsessive and Possessive Tendencies and Acts, Stalking, Voyeurism & Exhibitionism, Boss x Employee, Pet Play?(Just collaring and slight animal based pet names), Valentino.
Words: Total: 5496 = Sfw - 2609 + Nsfw - 2887
Note: I only wrote 1 drabble, i might add more if people request it about the specific headcanon they want more on. so Iâm not good with request like these, I like when they are more specific so I have sort of something to base my writing on, so sorry if you anon or people donât like what Iâve wrote, r.i.p. >:/ Though tell me if you want more!!
â more under the cut. â
SFW:
âïž Coffee addict and đ Alcoholic
Vox is the figurative and quite literally incarnation of the âdonât talk to me until Iâve had my coffeeâ phrase.
But weâre talking coffees instead of coffee with him â two cups straight out of bed to be precise. When totalling the dayâs consumption, Vox indulges on average, 6-7 cups of 10 oz coffee; in addition to his morning coffees, he likes to have a mid-morning cup, then two during lunch and finally 1-2 cups during the afternoon depending how late he is working.
Is this per say, âhealthyâ? No, not at all, Vox couldn't care less â worst âworstâ case scenario, he quote on quote dies, the coffee he had intake ends up intoxicating him due to the splurging amount of it, turning this mondaine drink into a lethal liquid for the overlordâs body. His heart would stop, sub-consequently, him and his body would be out.
Though the good thing â or bad, it all depends on your angle â about hell is that in about the span of 10 minutes his body will have fully regenerate and be back open for business. Some sinners call it it a curse, he calls it a blessing, as this part of the âeternal punishmentâ practically makes him immortal.
So is he going to work on regulating his caffeine intake? Obviously not!
Worst thing he gets from his âlittle problemâ is a heart attack, and they donât permanently keep him down. â Sure, they hurt like a bitch, and he would rather not be having them at all to be truthful.
But he honestly he doesnât see his bimonthly cardiac arrests as that steep of a price to pay. (Honestly how can such a smart businessman be so dumb about his health. * face palming and baffled at the idiocy of it all *)
Now when alcohol is the subject of conversation, Vox takes a slightly different approach, albeit one still characterized by overindulgence.
You see, he prides himself on being the epitome of a charming, classy, and self-controlled casual drinker, compared to his drunkard of a pattern âValentinoâ our lovely show host with anger issues and both inferiority and superiority complex is a sophisticated and savvy man.
However, beneath this facade of self-control, which he upholds quite well to the public eye, hides his obvious alcoholism issues.
While he may not be stumbling and blubbering around, picking fights,â in most instances at leastâ Vox is certainly what you might call a âday drinker."
In fact, this is actually a canonical trait, which was displayed in episode two of the show; Him discussing with others Vees on how to deal with the radio demonâs comeback, a drink in hand.
I presume thatit was a scotch on the rocks due to itâs colour but also itâs historical relevance in relation to Voxâs personâ Scotch whisky poured over ice, gained popularity in the 1950s primarily in Western countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
It became a symbol of sophistication and leisure, often enjoyed in upscale bars, clubs, and lounges frequented by the affluent and fashionable crowd of the era.
Additionally, its popularity was bolstered by the rise of cocktail culture during the mid-20th century, as well as the increasing availability of Scotch whisky in international markets. â this fits quite nicely Voxâs character as it is both a drink of his time on earth but also one that remains relevant in the contemporary era.
It easily mirrors Vox's overarching desire to maintain relevance and significance, both in the present and in the ever-evolving future.
The overlord definitely adhere to âitâs five oâclock somewhereâ religiously. Though he does prefer to enjoy his daily drink around 5 p.m. PRT (Pride Ring Time).
He will occasionally enjoys a drink with his lunch, often opting for wine, although this isn't a regular occurrence for the man.
As someone constantly under stress, with his mind racing to keep up with the ever-changing trends and opinions in hell, Vox is a type to indulge in a nightcap or two before bed.
It helps him unwind and achieve the relaxed state of mind necessary for a restful night's sleep.
ᶻ đ đ° Sleep
While the notion of âVox's dreams playing on his screen while he's asleepâ is an amusing concept for fanfiction or artwork, I personally find the idea of âthe VoxTek logo bouncing around like the DVD logoâ to be more fitting for Vox.
Before delving further, it's important to note that initially, it wasn't necessarily the VoxTek logo projected on his screen; however, I'll address this shortly.
The reason I lean towards the DVD logo concept is because I find it unlikely that Vox's screen would be completely black during sleep. A completely dark screen would imply the device is completely off, no energy is being received or given by it, which would suggest that it is no longer alive. Having some activity on Voxâs screen while asleep would signify that his program is still active, indicating he's still functioning, essentially alive.
Now regarding the widely shared headcanon, I have my own personal take on it.
When Vox first manifested in hell, his 'real name' appeared on screen. By 'real name,' I mean the one he had on Earth, which I believe wasn't Vox âThat name seems too futuristic for a person born in the early 1900s or the kind of name you'd associate with a 1950s businessmanâ Vox is a name he chose for himself after death, symbolizing a fresh start, though I do think that his real name might also have started with a V.
(This perspective extends to other 'Vees' as well, although Velvette seems more plausible as a given name, I suspect it might not be her original one. Valentino, on the other hand, feels like a name assigned to him, but he too might have adopted a new one after death.)
Initially, Vox was unaware of his old name appearing on his screen while he slept since he wasn't conscious during that time. It wasn't until about half a year into his time in hell, during which he introduced himself as Vox to everyone, that one of his acquaintances pointed out this aspect of his physiology. Something along the lines of "Who's Vâââ?" or "Why does Vâââ show on your screen while you sleep?" triggered a cascade of reactions in him.
Firstly, he panicked, realizing that people had access to his old identity. Secondly, he was puzzled by this phenomenon since no TV he had encountered displayed such behavior, which was normal considering DVDs weren't invented before 1996. â Hell sure was weird, he possessed technological features as part of his physiology before they were even inventedâ Lastly, this revelation instilled in him a new fear of sleeping.
This behavior stemmed from Vox's desire to construct a fresh existence in hell, complete with a new identity, image, empire, etc. The thought of others accessing his old name and exploiting it to uncover details about his past, including his behaviors, weaknesses, and tactics, filled him with dread.
As a result, he became hyper-vigilant, refusing to sleep unless he was certain of his solitude, fearing the potential repercussions of his former identity being known.
It wasn't until the mid 1960s that Vox had finally managed to upgrade his system, replacing âVââââ with 'Vox'. However, even after this upgrade, he still harboured reservations about sleeping around others for about a year or two. He feared a potential glitch that could revert his screen to displaying his previous name.
Around the late 1970s he had made an adjustment to this aspect of his body once more, replacing 'Vox' with the VoxTek logo after a certain moth had suggested it.
áŻáĄŁđ© Sexuality
Our beloved Tv Demon a canonical bisexual man, but I personally believe that while he may have bisexuality as his sexual orientation, â his attraction to men was something he only came to realize after death. Although there were subtle hints of his attraction to the same gender based on how he felt about them, he unfortunately didn't grasp them while still alive;
It would have been the late 1950s, and Vox had been in hell for about a year or two. In his earthly life, he had been with his fair share of women, and even in the "surprisingly not so fiery pits of the underworld," his ability to attract partners hadn't diminished much once got over his TV head appearance and let place for his charming and savvy persona to take over.
His love life seemed unchanged, perhaps with occasional exploration of new kinks, until that fateful night of October 11, 195X...
Vox had gone out for a drink after a grueling day at work, back when he was still toiling away at a low-paying job in an electronics factory, toasters, vacuum, etc. Despite the shitty work he had to go through, he had the perk of taking home broken scraps, which eventually played a role in his rise to success. But let's refocus on his night out, shall we?
He walked into his newfound favorite spot, a comedy bar where he sought solace in laughter and libations after a hard day. Arriving just as the performer began their set, he headed straight to the bar for his usual whiskey on the rocks, with nothing else on his mind. It wasn't until the comedian delivered a particularly hilarious joke that Vox turned to look at them and found his attraction piqued.
It was evident that they were a man with the specific style flashy outfit and makeup they wore. The voice was also a dead giveaway. The person now standing on stage, delivering one funny punchline after another, was a drag queen â a stunning one in Vox's eyes.
He couldn't tear his gaze away; there was something irresistibly captivating about the humorous individual on stage.
After the performance, as they made their way to the bar, Vox seized the opportunity. He introduced himself, and they exchanged pleasantries. They shared drinks and engaged in lively conversation, making for a truly enjoyable night that ended with a bang, quite literally.
In the morning, as clarity returned, Vox couldn't help but feel confused. He had never been attracted to men before, so he initially chalked it up to the alcohol or the fact that his night companion appeared so feminine that he mistook them for a woman.
However, as memories of the night flooded back, he couldn't deny his genuine attraction to every aspect of his partner, even the unmistakably male parts.
Initially, it felt strange to Vox as he reflected on the experience. However, after hours of deep contemplation, everything started to fall into place.
Vox realized he had always felt an affinity towards men, though expressing it as "liking men" might have appeared odd to outsiders. When he used that phrase, it wasn't in the context of sexual or romantic attraction but more of an admiration.
Yet, upon further reflection, he acknowledged that his feelings surpassed mere admiration.
He had never entertained the idea of it being anything akin to sexual or romantic attraction, but his recent encounter forced him to reconsider as he contemplated his life and the events of the previous night.
Vox liked men;
â Vox had always been drawn to the men of his time who exuded masculine confidence and assertiveness, finding their presence alluring and desiring to be in their company constantly.
He liked when they wore classic masculine fashion, such as tailored suits with narrow lapels, fitted jackets, and straight-leg trousers. These outfits oozed sophistication and professionalism, and Vox admired the attention to detail displayed.
Additionally, he liked when men would add classic accessories like fedora hats, skinny ties, cufflinks, and pocket squares to their outfit, they added to the polished and stylish appearance.
The preppy style also appealed to Vox, as he admired men who wore V-neck sweaters, button-down shirts, khaki trousers, and loafers. This style exuded a sense of casual elegance and refinement that he found attractive.
He also had a penchant for rebellious men who embraced a non-conformist aesthetic, often seen in leather jackets, denim jeans, white T-shirts, and motorcycle boots.
Vox liked when men were smart and witty, could keep up with the conversation and also teach something along the way.
Vox liked men who exuded strength and athleticism, finding their ability to handle themselves physically appealing. For instance, witnessing a fistfight between coworkers would stir his emotions, initially attributing his excitement to the violence of the altercation.
However, he would inevitably find himself gravitating towards the winner, intrigued by their display of strength and skill, and feeling drawn to them in some inexplicable way. There was something about winners that captivated him and sparked his desire to get closer to them.
He like men who were daring, adventurous, and unafraid to push boundaries, they appealed to his sense of excitement and thrill-seeking.
He liked men who were ambitious, goal-oriented, and willing to pursue their dreams with determination might have resonated with Vox on a subconscious level.â
After his one-night stand, Vox was determined to clarify things once and for all. Following another grueling day of work, he ventured out again, this time to a gay bar, seeking the company of someone who embodied the traits he found most appealing in men, wanting to ensure it wasn't just the alcohol or the femininity of his previous partner. Without delving into detail, let's just say he had quite the night and afterward, there was no doubt in his mind: âhe liked women, and he definitely also liked men.â
Following that experience, Vox began seeing more individuals of the same gender. However, he still held onto the notion that while he might be attracted to men, he didn't believe he would be interested in them as anything more than sexual partners. That was until he met Alastor...
Initially, Vox approached the radio demon seeking friendship or perhaps a partnership, given Vox's burgeoning company and rising status as an overlord. However, he soon found himself enamored with Alastor. Unfortunately for Vox, his feelings were not reciprocated. After that, Alastor distanced himself from Vox, leading our TV host to regard his old love as an enemy.
In response to the rejection, Vox decided to cease seeing men altogether, engaging in a series of short-term relationships with women. However, he soon realized he was simply idealizing Alastor and shifted his focus from woman to men for meaningless relationships, attempting to prove to himself that any other man was better than "that Bambi bitch."
But this approach only intensified the emptiness he felt. Recognizing the detrimental effects of his frantic behavior on himself and his company, Vox resolved to regulate and get back on a more business focused path.
The fact that rumours began circulating about his supposed "homoerotic relationships," was also a big push into getting back on track, as a word like that getting out was detrimental to business, since being gay was still stigmatized even in hell, during this time period.
It was around the late 1970s, with the rise of gay rights activism, that Vox began publicly dating men. Coincidentally, this was also when he met and began his business partnership (and more) with Valentino.
đđËâ Names
Vox has a penchant for using endearing or patronizing nicknames, regardless of the gender of his employees. He will refer to them as "sweetheart," "doll face," or simply "doll."
In moments of frustration or when faced with resistance, he's not shy about using terms like "little girl" or "little boy," or even "kid," to belittle those who question him.
Additionally, he might employ terms like "Princess" or "your highness" as forms of condescension, no matter the gender of the person he is addressing.
NSFW
đ Party
Despite Vox's obsession with his and the Vees' image, when it comes to partying, he becomes a total animal â Iâm talking âThe Wolf of Wall Streetâ type of wild.
Lavish gatherings marked by obscene spending and excessive drug intake, especially cocaine.
Vox typically indulged in doing lines off his desk or the luxurious crystal table in the lounge. However, what truly exited him was snorting lines off someone, getting his rocks off at their inability to refuse his advances and delighting in the control he exerted as he pinned them down to prevent any squirming.
The slight anxious tears and nervous mewls from whoever served as his snorting surface always stirred something within Vox. While he would grow irritated if they moved too much, the subtle signs of fear, such as the wetting of their eyes and trembling breath, would quickly reignite his unstable emotions. He found himself intensely aroused by their scared state, and more than once, he acted on these desiresâŠ
Drabble:
You were a VoxTek employee, more specifically; Voxâs secretary.
As Vox's secretary, navigating Alastor-related tantrums and enduring the grueling hours could be incredibly taxing, but the job itself had its perks.
Thanks to your position in the company, you enjoyed luxurious accommodations in the finest suites the V Tower had to offer.
Despite the challenges, Vox could be surprisingly pleasant, his charismatic charm reminiscent of his earlier days when his hypnosis wasn't as potent. And beneath the unconventional exterior of his TV head, there was no denying the appeal of his well-built physique.
Given the close proximity and constant interaction with Vox, it was inevitable to develop a small crush on your boss. His magnetic presence and the fact he was practically the only person you interacted with regularly since he requested you to work closer to him about three months ago only fueled this infatuation.
You liked your boss, but at this moment, you couldn't stand him;
It was 3 a.m. on a Sunday, the one day of the week you were supposed to have some semblance of off-time, with the luxury of sleeping in until noon.
But instead of enjoying your well-deserved rest in bed, you found yourself reluctantly entering the elevator, begrudgingly making your way to the usually closed-off top floor of the building.
Why? Because you had received a threatening and slightly slurry phone call from your boss, demanding your immediate presence or else face termination.
With your livelihood seemingly hanging in the balance, you complied without questioning, even though you loathed every second of it.
After punching in the code provided, you entered the lounge area of the top floor to find all three Vees lounging about. Valentino was enveloped in smoke, while music filled the air.
"Y/N! So glad you made it! Come 'ere," Vox exclaimed, his gestures frantic, urging you to approach quickly. He appeared laid-back, friendly, and strangely excited, a stark contrast to his usual demeanor of coldness and condescension.
Confusion clouded your expression as you approached the couch, unsure of what to make of Vox's sudden change in behavior. Velvette, noticing your bewilderment, chimed in with an explanation. "He took some MDMA before he called you â actually, he couldn't stop blabbing about your ass once that stuff kicked in," she divulged matter-of-factly, adding another layer of peculiarity to the already bizarre situation.
âAh, heâs high â that explains the weird friendliness.â You thought to yourself.
But before you could dwell on it too long, Valentino's words snapped you out of your thoughts, "Yes, little Voxxy over there couldn't stop talking about how much he wanted his little secretary with him right here. He just had to call you, despite it being the middle of the night. I'm sorry you're losing your beauty sleep right now, cariño," he said, his tone tinged with insincerity from false remorse. A small chuckle escaped his lips as he finished speaking, adding to the surreal atmosphere of the moment.
âVal, Vel! You canât tell them that! Or theyâll, theyâll⊠fuck!â Vox began to say, but something mid-sentence seemed to frustrate him.
Before you could question it for too long, Valentino answered that question for you. âTheyâll figure out you have a little crush on them. Aww, donât worry papi, itâs not like they can say no to you either way,â the moth darkly announced, frightening you, as it was technically true that you had to obey whatever order your boss gave you; it was in your contract after all.
To your somewhat relief, Vox scoffed at his part-time boyfriend's comment, as if to convey that he wouldn't behave in such a manner.
"Shut the fuck, Val!" Vox began, his frustration evident, before redirecting his attention back to you. "And you, lay down on the table." Confused by the request, you briefly wondered if he was joking, but the seriousness etched on his face made it clear that he wasn't. Resigned, you followed his instruction and laid down on the table as he commanded.
As soon as you complied, a smile spread across Vox's face. "Good, good. Now be a good little secretary and stay still as I do some lines off you, m'kay?" he instructed.
Before you could process anything or say something, he pushed your shirt all the way up, ending just under your chest, and tugged your bottoms down slightly â exposing your whole stomach.
Attempting to voice your discomfort, you were promptly shushed by Vox. "Shhh, you're being a table for me right now, and last time I checked, tables don't talk, now do they, sweetheart? So be a doll and shut up," he said, eliciting laughter from the two other Vees.
You complied with his instructions and remained silent as you felt him pour some powder onto your abdomen. Knowing the drugs he usually made you order on his behalf, it was probably coke.
With that, he quickly formed about three lines and began snorting them. The sensation felt odd and somewhat ticklish to you, but what you didn't expect was for him to lick the parts of your belly where the powder had just sat â long lines that started from top to bottom, causing you to squirm involuntarily.
Vox didn't appreciate your movement, because âhow dare his table move?â. In response, he firmly gripped your waist on both sides and forcefully slammed your hips against the table as a warning to âstop movingâ.
However, his claws dug into your skin, causing you to cry out slightly. Upon seeing the small tears in your eyes, his mood shifted once more, from aggravation to something more lustful.
He relished the sight of you with tears in your eyes, so he decided to inflict a bit more pain. With a predatory glint in his eyes, he bit at your sides, knowing that you couldn't retaliate due to the hierarchical difference between you.
His bites started from the top, gradually getting lower until they ended up just above your crotch. With a slight, heavy breathing, he remarked, "Now what do we have here? A snack for me? You shouldn't have." As he removed your bottoms, leaving you in your underwear, a slight moist patch formed due to the position you were in.
Sure, Vox was an entitled asshole, but god, did he look and sound incredible when he was being mean and bossy. How could you not get aroused, especially when his face and long tongue ass were so close to your intimate parts.
"You want me to play with you, darling?" Vox asked in a manner that almost made it feel like you had a choice. There was something about it that suggested he might respect your decision if you said noâsure, he wouldn't like it, but he definitely had this thing where he wanted you to want him, to beg for him, to need him. Forcing himself on you wouldn't align with that desire.
You nodded, but he tutted at you, wanting a verbal answer. "No, no, no, it's 'Could you please, sir?' or 'Would love to, Mr. Vox,' or 'Please, I need you, Vox.' You've got to speak up if you want me to do anything to you, got it, dollface?" he clarified, emphasizing the importance of explicit consent, whether it was due to genuine respect for your boundaries or just his enjoyment of your yearning for him, it was a bit unclear. However, knowing Vox, he probably just got off on your embarrassment.
"Yes, sir," you said, feeling embarrassed. "So? Do you want me to give some love to these," he asked, tracing the outline of your underwear, "lovely parts?" He perked up.
"I would love for you to, sir," you managed to speak out. With a 'perfect' from your boss, he was now eagerly devouring you with his tongue, sending small pleasurable shocks through you as he did. No part of you down there was left un-licked.
Just as you were about to reach that sweet, sweet release â Vox removed himself from you, causing you to whine at the loss of pleasure.
"Don't worry," he said, but before you could complain too much, Vox lifted you up and threw you onto the couch, your face soon hitting the satin pillows. As you heard the sound of his belt unbuckling, you felt your hips being repositioned, leaving you face down and ass up.
Vox quickly pumped his cock a few times, not needing much as it was already hard from the sight of you writhing due to his tongue. Getting close to your ear, he whispered, "Cuz I'm not done with you, dollface."
Then he promptly shoved himself inside of you. Thankfully, whatever he was doing with his tongue a couple of instances ago had prepped you, because, woof, did the stretch sting.
After giving you a few moments to adjust, he began pounding you into tomorrow, playing with your front and sending small shocks here and there. With no regard for his colleagues sitting right beside him âor should I say colleague, as in singularâVelvette had left as soon as he began working you with his tongue. However, Valentino remained, watching the scene unfold with keen interest.
Your soon came undone due to his rough ministrations, but he was far from done with you...
â«â«â« Ownership, âââ Humiliation & Collar
If you haven't already figured it out yet, Vox is a sadist. He thoroughly enjoys power dynamics and the act of humiliating others.
Continuing from the previous headcanon, picture yourself as either hired as his secretary or as a low-ranking demon in his company who catches his eye. If you're the latter, he'll undoubtedly arrange for you to be transferred to work closer to him.
But anyway, my point is, as soon as you're in his close proximity, he'll literally makes you his bitch on call in the blink of an eye. And obviously, you can't refuse because, one, he's your boss; two, he's an overlord; and three, he's Vox.
Who would refuse that hunk? Even if you weren't initially attracted to him, you'd find yourself becoming so after a couple of weeks, even if it's just some weird mild attractionâyou're still into him.
Once he's got you in his grasp and has fucked you at least once, this is when he begins to play with you. He'll make you start wearing a vibrator under your clothes at work, ordering you to remove your clothing every morning and show him, to ensure you did it. Then he'd send you on your merry way.
If he wasn't physically with you, he'd be watching you through his cameras.
And every time you would be talking to someone and he deemed it too long, you weren't paying attention to him, or you were zoning out/getting distracted, he would turn the vibrator on to 'get you back on track'.
Though he did like to sometimes turn the vibrator on just to tease you. For example, you're in the middle of telling him about a shift in his appointment in a room full of people, and he would suddenly turn it on to fuck with you.
He also has a huge thing for pulling you by your soul chain. He just loves, loves, loves summoning it out of nowhere and just tugging you along with it.
For instance, you could be telling him about some issue concerning a recent project, and he would tell you to come closer so he could hear better.
As you walk closer towards his desk, he deems your pace too slow. Without warning, he summons and tugs at the chain around your neck, causing you to fall to the ground.
In an attempt to brace the fall, you put your arms out, catching yourself and ending up on all fours.
But as you try to get up, he would tut at you, ordering you to âCrawl to me.â Youâre humiliated, but you still do it as he watches you like a hawk, a satisfied grin on his face.
If you also happen to scrape or bruise yourself when you fell and some small tears form in your eyes, let me tell you, he would get so bricked up as soon as he noticed them.
And of course, he would make you blow him, though it would end up with him face-fucking you, as it usually did.
He would also hold your head down as he dumped his cum down your throat, then he would pull your nose with his free hand, saying that âyou donât get to breathe until youâve swallowed it all.â And of course, you would do it because you donât want to literally choke to death on your bossâs dick.
Once he was sure you had swallowed it all, he would finally release you, allowing you to take some air in. Then he would make you stick out your tongue, and he would spit in your mouth, making you swallow that too.
đŻ Training
He liked using small electrical charges as a âtraining methodâ, and this method has two stages. This would happen after he already had you as his personal toyâ I mean, âsecretaryâ.
At first, he uses electricity to reprimand you whenever you werenât paying attention to him, questioned him, said no to things, or did anything that he considered as bad behaviour.
He would shock you, making you associate âbad behaviorâ with pain, so you would end up automatically correct yourself before you even do or say something.
If you take a bit too long to âadjustâ to this new way of acting, he might resort to a little bit of hypnosis, but he would prefer not to.
He gets off on the fact that he can train you to behave just with his words and actions, without the help of any special ability.
Anyways, when he is sure that he has drilled into you what proper behavior is, heâll employ phase two. Heâll start training you to enjoy the sting of his electricity.
So, whether he's fucking you, giving you head, touching you, or basically providing any sort of pleasure, every time you would be close to reaching your peak, he would send jolts of electricity through you, gradually increasing the dosage over time.
Things would get to the point that a small shock from him would be enough to get you turned on, and bigger shocks would be able to literally make you cum.
àž
Pet
For the most part, he wouldnât see secretary!reader as a partner. Itâs only after a while, like a year or more, that he would start considering it.
He views them as his romantic interests, but not on his level. To keep face with the other Vees, even though they both knew about his crush from the beginning because he was so obvious with it, he would call you his pet.
Sometimes literal âpet namesâ like puppy, kitty, bunny, etc. (Personally, I would love for him to call him his bunny <3.)
What he calls you all depends on your appearance and behaviors. For example, if you manifested with a more feline appearance, he would call you his kitten or kitty. If you didnât have animal-like features but for example, were very needy, had a tendency to follow around, and were a sucker for praise, he would likely call you his puppy.
đ Punishments
Besides using electric shocks, he is definitely into spanking as a form of punishmentâwhether it involves pulling down your pants or lifting your skirt, spanking you for every âtransgressionâ youâve committed is something heâs totally down for.
It can be a really strange experience if you weren't a masochist to begin with because he'll end up having you conditioned to enjoy physical punishments;
For example, he would be spanking you, and you find yourself getting turned on, arousal literally leaking due to his rough treatment of your behind.
Edging and overstimulation are also big in his book, though each has its own set of circumstances where they would be implemented.
For instance, if you weren't paying attention to him because of someone else, he would overstimulate you to the point where you couldn't think about anyone but him, asserting his superiority over whoever had your attention.
If you weren't paying attention for any other reason, he would edge you, because âhow dare you ignore him when he should be the most important to you!â.

The heavily gendered way people will dismiss Elizabeth as a flat nothing character while insisting Earnest is way more interesting despite actually not having much of anything in the text is a general fandom trend, unfortunately, but I am also reminded of how much it happens in Dracula too - like, going to kick the hornet's nest here, but Quincey is the least developed member of the main cast and doesn't say much and drops out of most of the story, but the way he gets talked about, you would think he is one of the protagonists, even though he runs on mostly headcanons and (white) Texan stereotypes (for all that fandom loves to interpret him as a POC, it's only ever for vague aesthetics); meanwhile, Mina IS a protagonist, even THE protagonist if you have to choose one, and has a lot going on in terms of history, character, and active moving forward of the plot, but at best, she might be praised as a generic girlboss with maybe, for lack of a better description, quirky fandom autism (trains are her entire personality and that's it, isn't she so cute and quirky??), and at worst, she's dismissed as being too difficult to get a grip on her voice, despite narrating a huge part of the story, or all her interesting traits go to Jonathan, either as the actual text when it's not or AUs.
It's especially galling in post-epilogue stuff bc the epilogue focuses on Mina as the hero and her relationship with her son and how he will learn about HER heroism and SHE is the one who thinks Quincey's spirit was reborn in him, but people focus solely on little Quincey's relationship with Jonathan and his story while Mina is nowhere to be found except as an offscreen generic mother.
I agree, it reeks of misogyny. I will never get over finding out that someone couldn't get a grip on Mina's voice. Parts of the book are literally written in first person in her voice. Unfortunately, I often see Mina depicted two ways, most commonly as if she were an extension of Johnathan and less commonly as Dracula's reincarnated or star crossed love interest. It is a wider trend of the female lead not being allowed to exist outside of her male counterpart. And I wouldn't personally consider her cute and quirky. She comes across as practical and strong-willed. She's eager to lend her skills and shows a lot of fortitude. There's also a stated reason for her to memorize train schedules so it's not just some special interest. "Jonathan will be here at half-past eleven, and you must come to lunch with us and see him then. You could catch the quick 3:34 train, which will leave you at Paddington before eight. " He was surprised at my knowledge of the trains offhand, but he does not know that I have made up all the trains to and from Exeter, so that I may help Jonathan in case he is in a hurry" That's something that strikes me a bit about Mina, how much she feels a need to be useful and in some cases to prove herself. The situation is terrifying, she's already lost so much and risks losing everything else, including her free will and she STILL has to justify her usefulness to Van Helsing and the rest of the group. She does it all with a lot of grace and courage. She is heroic and seeing people depict her as an afterthought while they fawn over Johnathan is annoying.

One thing that annoys me to no end about how Aveline's involvement and inaction im "Prime suspect" questline pans out is that they basically took the worst of both worlds.
Like you could want Aveline's inaction to be part of her development and a character flaw- which is very consisten with how she usually prioritizes the guards safety and overall image over literally anything else including their duty to protect the people. Like the investigation wasn't going anywhere and it made the guard look bad so she is dropping it because to her the smallest chance that Emeric is in fact right and people are in danger isn't worth the damage to the guard in case he is wrong. This is also good foreshadowing for when this worst trait of Aveline results in Qunari invasion. The only thing that makes me doubt this was the intention is that Aveline never gets the "Oh shit, I am not meant to protect the guard- I am meant to make sure the guard protects everyone else" moment, which was dierly needed if that's what they were going for. It was direly needed in Aveline's case in general because considering all the characters get their "Questioning beliefs" moments... Aveline's questioned beliefs are the most vague.
So lets imagine this is not what they were going for for a moment which honestly I find plausible considering the game tends to frame Aveline as mostly reasonable and how the talk afterwards goes if you do point out it was her fault. Lets imagine that Aveline wasn't supposed to be the one to blame here, the game just needed a reason for why Hawke got mixed up with the investigation- I still to this day do not get why they didn't use the perfect reason we later learned they had.
The investigation was constantly being poisoned by Orsino. Since we learn in the end that Orsino was aware of Quentins existance but keeping it under wraps to not justify Meredith's methods, he could also do what he can to make sure he was untraceable. And obviously he wouldn't know exactly what Quentin was involved with, he wouldn't believe the rumors that were cirrculating- they make every other apostate sound like a bloodthirsty killer after all.
Aveline would notice something is off and official ways of investigating are being stopped in their tracks. So she goes to Hawke with "listen this may be nothing but I feel someone really doesn't want us to find out anything in this case, and I have a bad feeling."
This way you kill two birds with one stone- you absolve Aveline of all the responsibility for what happens and you give a hint Quentin had some powerful friends.
Now I know this would put Orsino in a worse light were in the game he just turns the blind eye, but at least to me it doesn't make him necessarily a bad person? Just a man under immense amount of pressure who is very aware of how one bad thing a out one mage puts all of them in danger. I think this would also potentially make his relationship with Hawke absolutely heartbreaking especially if Hawke supports the mages. Like how do you tell the one most powerfull ally you have that you are indirectly responsible for the worst thing that happened to them.
While I personally think having Aveline be responsible for what happened and take some time to think on it would be better for the story and for her character growth I think the second option also had a good narrative potential- but instead they sort of took both of those but not really. Aveline's inaction hurts the one she swore to protect... but not really. Orsino knew about Quentin and is therefore to some extent responsible for what happened... but not really. Hawke's mother is dead and we didn't even get a churro out of it.

Do you think the Doctor and the Master still know each other well? Like, they're obsessed with each other (with some exceptions (13, who really mostly cares about her friends being safe and her history)) obviously, and they know a lot from their shared past, but do you think they understand the parts that are unique to who they are now? To what extent are they familiar with how the other actually works? 10 didn't seem to understand how much forgiveness would hurt the Master. 12 was uncertain around Missy and didn't know her well enough to know whether or not to trust her. But I think 13 understood that the Master compared them and was desperate for her attention, any attention
ok I don't know how to formulate this reply. To me, they know each other better than anyone else, but, they know the doctor and the master. They don't know "the tenth doctor" and "the saxon master". Missy also said, to her it doesn't matter what face the doctor is wearing, he's still the doctor. They don't see the little differences in every regeneration cause they're already used to the "general" conception of them as a person.
Let's say I don't know, the doctor has always liked the colour yellow (just making up stuff for an example). He regenerates and in that specific regeneration, he doesn't like it (either for actual reasons related to something that happened or also just because he happened to regenerate like that). The master wouldn't know that, cause they do not talk. They are not friends anymore. They meet briefly and each time it's so weird cause they know each other so well, they have known each other for centuries, they know their worst fears and biggest dreams but they don't know each other's favourite colours, cause they don't talk anymore. When they do talk it's intense and terrible and filled with that enormous sense of familiarity but always with that creeping feeling of being strangers. They do not know each other anymore. They know each other better than anyone else. They are strangers. They are childhood best friends.
As for thirteen knowing that what the master wants is attention, it's because it's something related to the master. Not the spy master. It's something she would know in every regeneration. It's one of the basic traits of the master and she knows. The master has tried in some incarnations to deny his need for the doctor's attention (example simm master), but the doctor knows him, and knows it's just a facade. He still didn't kill him and forced him to look at how powerful he was. Look at how he was in control of the earth. He needs the doctor to see him, even if he wouldn't admit it.
I feel like twelve's discomfort and lack of trust comes exactly from the fact that it's the first time in centuries that they finally get to actually spend time with each other, not brief encounters, but constantly seeing each other. And there's that embarrassing air of "we know each other so well but we also missed the most of each others lives so we don't really know how to act" it's embarrassing and uncomfortable but also too much familiar.
And I mean, the distrust is justified, that hasn't got anything to do with how well they know each other but with how the master broke the doctor's trust millions of times, it's normal for him to be careful and not trust her. Hell I think he already trusted her too much. Especially after what he did as simm master. What if she's just planning to betray him once again? What if it's just a insanely calculated devious plan to do something evil? They're extremely valid concerns. Missy suffers from that cause she can see he doesn't trust her. And after seeing ten so desperate for her, she really didn't think about the possibility that the doctor wouldn't trust her. She expects him to immediately trust her while he expects her to immediately betray him and this doesn't really help their relationship. But that's not what the ask was about so I'll stop here :o)
#i am so sleepy and tired and i should have explained myself so much better but yk what it doesn't matter#if i said something stupid please correct me and I'll probably notice that i said something idiotic and elaborate it better#ask box#thoschei#character analysis#me being annoying about the master tag#and the doctor ig#best enemies#doctor who#the master#best enemies talk

What are your top ten Greek Mythology headcanons?
Ooooh I have a lot of Greek mythology headcanons, so it took me a while to select the top ten đ
But I've finally done it!
Here is the final list:
10. There is an Eurotas River "tradition" for all the couples in the Spartan royal family.
I like to think it's "tradition" for all members of the Spartan royal family to find the love of their lives at the Eurotas River (Lacedaemon & Sparta, Amyclas & Diomede, Hyacinthus & Apollo, Helen & Menelaus, etc.)
The idea came to me because of the role and presence of this river in Apollo and Hyacinthus' myth (Ovid's version) and Menelaus and Helen's story (Euripides' play). HyaPollo had frequent river dates and MeLen swore fidelity with one another by the same river, so it's fun to think that the other Spartan couples also meet and spend their time together here.
9. Persephone is everyone's childhood friend.
This is also true in the mythos! Persephone grew up with Athena and Artemis in Sicily, her domains overlapped with her other siblings, the Homeric hymn to Demeter has a list of her nymph friends, and every once in a while someone is said to be Persephone's playmate.
She's a true social butterfly lol
8. The second generation Olympians also share traits with their grandparents.
I love to think that the younger Olympians inherit something from their Titan grandparents, you know? Here are some of the ideas:
Ares is loving and protective over his children like Rhea.
Persephone is intimidating and wield her scythe like Kronos.
Hermes is crafty and cunning like his great-grandfather Iapetus.
Apollo has Coeus' deep, intelligent gaze and Artemis has Phoebe's radiant smile.
Athena is unconsciously attracted to the ocean, the kingdom of Oceanus and Tethys.
7. All of Zeus' children, mortal or immortal, inherit his fury.
They can be calm like Apollo or have anger issues like Heracles, but once a child of Zeus get really pissed off, their act of wrath can be as destructive as their father's.
This explains why Artemis shot down Coronis and her family and Persephone inflicted a plague on Thebes.
6. The second generation Olympians (plus Persephone and Aphrodite) love each other in their own ways.
I really dislike depictions of Olympian siblings always at each other's throat. Yes, their history is complicated and dynamics aren't perfect but that doesn't mean they only have bad tension! Where is the nuance in their relationship???
Artemis and Apollo have seen the worst of one another and ridiculed each other for that. But if someone were to talk crap about their twin, it's on sight.
Ares is torn between following his mother and accepting his illegitimate siblings. He had persecuted the twins before they were born but later joined them in the Trojan war.
Athena might be distant from others at times due to her personality and domains, but there are moments she enjoyed dancing and playing music with her siblings.
And Persephone's case is the worse. She might not be an Olympian and stays in Underworld for half a year, but she had never expressed hatred for her non-chthonic family. Let Persephone have good relationship with her upper world family, too!!!
5. Hyacinthus has purple eyes.
Or, in elaborative words, the eyes ever so gentle like flower petals drifting on a calm lake in early spring, hand-painted by the finest of brushes with a meticulous shade of softly vibrant purple that could not be easily sought out in the tapestry of nature.
Sorry for the sudden poetic wax XDDD
Basically, I want Hyacinthus to have pretty purple eyes as one of his signature traits. It makes him stand out from the crowd due to the "divinity" it brings to him (because of the forth headcanon)
4. Hyacinthus' mother is Clio, the Muse of History.
The second-popular parentage of Hyacinthus in the myths, but I have lots of ideas and interpretations with this mother and son relationship:
- The son of the history Muse dating the god of prophecy. Past and future intertwine!
- Their domain and attribute! We study history to learn from the past mistakes and avoid repeating them. The hyacinth flower represents forgiveness, and I like to think it includes self-forgiveness as well. So Clio being Hyacinthus' mother can symbolize accepting and learning from your mistakes to forgive yourself.
- Family angst! Clio knows every way something can go wrong and result in her son's tragic end. So throughout Hyacinthus' life, she will do her best to prevent all possible demises that can happen to him, only to still end up losing him.
- It will give Aphrodite another reason to aid Hyacinthus' resurrection. Since Aphrodite is the one cursing Clio to fall in love with a mortal man and have Hyacinthus, she might feel guilty later when Clio was grieving her son, so she decided to help the mother and son reunite as repentance.
3. Polyboea becomes a huntress of Artemis.
We actually don't have any clear indication that Polyboea became a huntress of Artemis in the myths, but hey, it's not a bad headcanon! Polyboea died a maiden, and Artemis was fond of her enough to help bring her back from death. So it wouldn't be a stretch of the goddess recruit her into the hunter pack.
I have a lot of ideas for a Polyboea-centric fic after she became a virgin huntress, just her journey in perfecting the art of archery, making friends with the other huntresses, and learning to be her own person than just "the youngest princess of Sparta".
2. Apollo and Hyacinthus raise children together.
This heacanon definitely didn't come to me after reading a certain fanfic series hehehe...
The title said all, I like to thing after Hyacinthus' deification, he and Apollo are happily "married" and raise a bunch of kids together, adopted or from another lover (and they may or may not have a child together). Those kids will have the best childhood!
1. Hyacinthus and Polyboea undergo many trials in the Underworld before being granted resurrection and immortality.
As much as I love Hyacinthus and want him to have a happy ending with his loved ones, he's a potential package for physiological and psychological torture :)
There isn't much that we know of about Hyacinthus' resurrection in the myths other than him and his sister, Polyboea, being taken to the Heavens by a parade of deities. But I don't think the Underworld will allow two of their residents to go easily, so Hades and Persephone must have given Hyacinthus and Polyboea a trial like they did to Orpheus and Eurydice, but it will be 1000x worse because love me some blood-choking angst :D
For what the Underworld trials are and how Hyacinthus and Polyboea overcome them, they are will remain for now as ideas and concepts in the making for my Hyapollo fanfic

I have to say, one place I diverge from a lot of other Julian Bashir fans on here is that I just donât agree that the character was on the whole poorly written or handled, or that âthe writers didnât know what to do with him.â Bashir has⊠one of the strongest arcs in the entire series, imo. Not the absolute best - that would be Siskoâs, and Kiraâs was more richly in dialogue with the premise and themes of the series - but certainly close.
He gets centered in a variety of different kinds of stories, many of which tie into the broader story arcs of the show (the latter of which is more than I could say of, for example, Jadzia or Ezri). His early character flaws are developed seriously later on, with his arrogance in particular being interrogated and shown to be a reflection of an inner insecurity thatâs self-aggrandizing in its own way. And he gets a backstory and family relationships that put those traits into context. His heroic traits are allowed to blossom and come into play in weightier situations as well, with him often being positioned as the sole voice of morality amidst corruption or defeatism. His system of ethics is tested and stretched to the limit - things like kidnapping and torturing Sloan, or even just recommending that the Federation surrender to the Dominion, are things that he never would have done in the early seasons, but they still feel of a piece with who he is and what heâs been through since the beginning and what he fundamentally values (namely, preserving as many lives as possible).
Like, I saw someone on one of my posts say that his character was diluted in later seasons and there was ânothing left of himâ by the end of the show, and I completely disagree. There are things I would change about the focus of season 7 in general, but âChrysalisâ and âInter Arma Enim Silent Legesâ and âExtreme Measuresâ were all great showcases for the different facets of his character, including the darker sides of him. And he gets to play a key role in the resolution of the war.
When I think of characters who were underserved by the narrative, I think of⊠definitely Ezri, and Iâd say Jadzia as well. Honestly all of the women were undermined in some way by sexist bias in the writing, even Kira. But even Quark I think gets a much more disappointing ending in âThe Dogs of War,â where he just doubles down on his worst traits and actually does feel like he regresses after the showâs hinted at character development for him.
So itâs a bit surreal to me to see these critiques levied at Bashirâs writing, because honestly one reason I love him is because of the depth in his writing.
#like i do have specific critiques and i'll certainly make them (and have made them)#but on the whole... no#i would KILL for an ezri arc that had a fraction of what bashir's arc had going on#as for the idea that his trauma wasn't dealt with....#honestly i don't think ST's structure is well suited to exploring that in the way fandom tends to want#but he does have character continuity and callbacks to certain things he's experienced#julian bashir#ds9#my meta#ds9 talk

Sorry, it's me again. There's this thing that has been...whispering in the back of mind since I read this post for the first time. Nigel wrote: "... I removed a rat's heart and pretended to be disgusted" Why on earth would he feel the necessity to PRETEND to be disgusted in front of Alex?
I've taken a minute to answer this because it's a very good question but difficult and complicated to answer within the context of the film. For those who aren't sure what you're referring to, please see this post transcribing Nigel's notes.
The short answer is: I don't think the people making the props were entirely consistent with the character as scripted. I think most likely they were given some general directives (such as "make sure it highlights the words "egocentric megalomaniac with delusions of grandeur") Outside those few directives, they just sort of let their poetic license run free, injecting their own ideas of a what a "fucked up weird guy who dissects animals" would say into the text, and creating a different version of Nigel than the movie presents us with. The worst example of that is the newspaper article in Alex's book--which doesn't make ANY sense in the context of the film. No one really expected crazy fans to obsessively pause the movie and use photo enhancing techniques frame by frame to determine what was written in his journals or the text of the article, so I think there was a lot of leeway and perhaps some laziness when it came to the props.
It's hard for me to come up with an IN character justification for Nigel to have written that, because it doesn't gel with my observations of him as presented in the film. The journal entry itself is written before he is kidnapped by Alex and the dynamic of their relationship shifts. This IS the entry that made Alex angry enough to kidnap him and teach him a lesson in the first place. This is the Nigel who barely responds to Alex's confrontational anger over the dissection in the dorm room, the Nigel who seems to be completely unmoved by or even very aware of how his actions might impact others. He doesn't care enough to even consider what effect he has on others, and even if/when he is aware, I sincerely doubt he'd bother to *pretend* anything. Nigel doesn't seem interested in pretending to be anything other than what he is, a defining trait that causes him a lot of problems.
Later in the movie, Nigel does shift a bit into a more puckish role. He fucks with Alex in a variety of ways, very noticeably in the train scene when they're going to visit his secret room. He's playful, mischievously antagonistic, poking and prodding Alex and seeming to enjoy his discomfort. This demeanor is more in line with the kind of guy who might write about deliberately messing with his roommate's head. But I still don't know why he would feign disgust in the middle of the dissection given that he's been dissecting animals regularly and Alex would have no reason to think he's grossed out by it.
I suppose if we apply that puckish attitude backward and say that Nigel was already trying to mess with Alex even before the kidnapping, we could sort of squint our eyes and imagine him being very over the top Fake Disgusted as he waves the heart around in Alex's direction. I still don't find that very likely, but it's the best I've got.
If you wanted to, you could use this as part of a theory that Nigel was the real instigator all along and had been intending/planning to manipulate Alex from the moment he was transferred to the school and forced to share a room. In such a reading of the film, all of his behavior could be seen as pretense in some way, including his initial lack of reaction to Alex--calculated to rile Alex up, put him off balance, etc.
I don't personally buy in to that interpretation, just as I don't buy into Alex being the sole instigator. I think either reading ascribes far too much power and control to these teenagers, however intelligent and manipulative they may be. But if you want to go that route, here's a supporting piece to add to your puzzle.
Thanks for the ask and I hope this rambling mess makes at least some sense!
EDIT: please read my reblog of this post. @silhioutte pointed out the very obvious mis-read of this line.
