Ah yes, the unforgivable sin of killing in self defense and defense of others.

And like, I love both of them actually, and unironically want more of this exact trope just to laugh about batman mytho's fucked up principal.

Plus, imagining the court process of red hood's case gives me joy. Imagine the bat actually turning him in and Jason does gets whatever severe sentence for the myriad of murder manslaughter and other crime under Red Hood's name. Then it gets to the last case that led to the bat turning him in, and. Nope that one is act of defense.

Happy very extremely severely late Lunar New Year.

I got this idea when Lunar New Year was still going on but it's only now that I can draw it out.

Idk how Americans would celebrate Lunar New Year's eve given that it'd be daytime when the clock strikes 12, but I make these two do it anyway because I can.

Of course they both would almost catch on fire while playing with the fireworks, and of course they would say something akin to "I love you" while huddling for warmth and feeding each other Chinese takeout.

I find the idea of Tyler for a period of time was brought up in a household that celebrated Lunar New Year rather wholesome.

Narrator got a broken arm may or may not because of Tyler/fight club, so just imagine their relationship has developed to the point of Tyler actually feeling bad for Narrator's injuries and wanting to recompense them. She would not make it obvious tho, but deep down Narrator knows.

I've Seen the Triangle

#i have to do a two-day procedure to process my data enough to be able to check whether the positive control for a given experiment worked #if it didn't i have to throw out everything i collected that week #if it did work then when i graph it it makes a nice blue right triangle on the graph.#today i have seen the triangle #box opener #this is especially nice because i was up until 1am last night to get as much data as possible formatted for the overnight step #and then it crashed halfway which is. predictable #but i got the first half! and my last dataset of the week's positive control was in that first half! so i Have The Triangle!!!

There is nothing so affirming and life saving as leaving home and being loved at face value by total strangers for who you are

#im losing track of the genuine interactions ive had since i arrived that have all just been #so loving in so many small ways #from so many people #who have no reason to be kind or loving or to return kindness when it is offered to them #and yet they return it and offer it with such genuine joy #these are the kind of things that will save your life. i truly believe that. almost moreso than the deep network of friends you build #that's important but it becomes an echo chamber if you don't step away #and remember that you exist outside of it and the world sees you for you and not what the people back home need you to be #want you to be expect you to be #and maybe even love you in entirely platonic little ways for it #i will expand more later i am attempting a minor digital cleanse while here. there will be a nola series next week once i have processed.#but oh. i just took the slightly longer route home so i could hit Frenchman in hopes of catching a second line #followed them till they looped back to chartres and made my way home #which is a room with a kitchenette and bath in a railroad just north of st claude. by the tracks.#the bars here are more scattered. neighbors dives where everyone knows everyone and their business.#and yet they've seen me going back and forth the last two nights and days and so. they greet me warmly. wish me safely home.#one auntie blesses me with her vodka soda as i pass before blessing the two men leaving the bar. everyone laughing.#ill remember iggys fondly even if i never step inside.#a block from home a gentleman on his porch singsongs a hullo to me. i do my best to parrot it back around the spliff i lit two blocks ago.#he asks to buy a cigarette off me. regretfully im smoking my last but i offer my vape if hes open to weed. its shameful and i crack a joke #something about kids these days but it seems easy. like neighbors chuckling at midnight passing smokes over porch railings.#we talked briefly as i showed him how to use the vape. about our dinners. the storm coming in. legalization.#he asked me if i needed anything in turn. the conversation was plenty i told him. which sounds cliche and someone will say this is fiction.#but it doesnt need to be fiction to be a story about a simple moment of connection and love. i could list a dozen stories like this here.

#not art #ask #probably why i also refuse to draw yami taller or with the chiseled jawline he gets in canon #thats a child none of us get to forget thats a child #there kind of is a sense of like. swimming through the currents of mythos to reach real life? in the original ygo manga #(mostly talking abt manga bc that's truly like the only ygo media I actually look at and feel a kinship with lol. idk shit abt the anime)#a lot of the story is told with a heightened sensibility a la sailor moon. exaggerated characteristics colloquialized events etc #it fits the way teenagers feel emotions yes but it is also Convenient. like the way kaiba drops the cuff key into the harbor #and it falls directly into jou's field of vision. that's not how that works in real life #it's kinda drag-like in tone. essential steps with spectacles as the mortar and emotional arcs as the throughline #yuugi's wish for kinship and understanding and appreciation is realized within this framework and then the framework like #packs itself up and exits stage left. it's a year-and-a-half-long dream. you only bring into real life what you think of to bring #and that like. kinda fits with how yuugi reads in the manga for me. where he's always reaching to be A Character while not being able #to stop being just a teen in some city at the same time right. listen i have pdfs worth of chatlog with friends abt gender reading #and all of the stuff with the cute little things whose specialty is being cannon fodder or sacrificial lambs and the dialectics etc in ygo #the toy is the actual character while the fantasy and you holding it is in fact the messy reality of you #would like to say ''yuugi looking cute as hells is important to all of that'' but tbh thatd be a lie lol #i do just think the star shaped ponytail is a good idea i wanna keep drawing. but also yeah softening takahashi's style is kinda #a shame but I do think for the purpose of my own art at least it is kinda somewhat intended as commentary? in a sense #big ups to my guy rest in peace you were doing all that straight lines and circles and chrome in ink in the year of our lord two thousand #it is INSANE that ygo ended looking like that. at that point in time. not my preference but neither is caving or deep sea diving #he and his assistants were doing that shit By Hand. do you know how fucked up that is #but yeah due to the art style being that kind of clean and geometrical and processed there is. not a lot of greeblies #as well as a lot more risk of tangents and things reading not super clear due to line uniformity etc #and I like my greeblies and am from the fuckass school of french language comic so. here we end up #one thing i pride myself on in my own art is doing my damn best to get across the texture and weight of subjects with just ink so #i do think i make yuugi extra squishy lmao. like if u ragdoll him at a wall itd make a thwack #and <3 i categorically refuse to make atem/yami any more solid <3 #thank u for coming to my tedtalk sorry this happened under ur ask. actually not sorry its my house. welcome to my house

I had to make a chart to explain to my therapist why ive been bouncing between working on these specific stories over the last few weeks because "they are all part of the same family tree, no theres no relation between the characters, the Stories are what's related" wasn't a clear way to describe the connection between them

anyways my war on the concept of little red riding hood continues.

being the perfect combo of tired, hungry, sad, and on your period that one slightly mean comment from a stranger is guaranteed to throw off the entire rest of your day

#i had let my second class out a little early in hopes of catching the bus (usually i miss it by minutes)#but then i had several students sticking around to ask me questions after class #so i was really frazzled and rushing to get the bus at a stop i've never used before #and because of that i didn't know to expect a whole stream of people getting off #i didn't mean to try barging on! and it's not like i was pushing past people once i realized what was happening #but then the bus driver stopped me after i showed him my pass and asked in a badgering voice #'do you have an audio processing disorder? seriously do you actually have an audio processing disorder?'#and i couldn't even say anything because i was so caught off guard by how aggressive it was #then spent the entire rest of the ride trying not to cry #especially after someone did the exact same thing i did two stops later and tried to step on immediately #and the driver totally laughed it off with her!#so now i'm in a shitty mood and don't want to do any of the stuff i had planned to get done with the rest of my day #also what a horrible way to treat someone if they did have an auditory processing disorder #clearly the guy is just a dick but he caught me at the exact wrong time and now i'm not going to be able to shake this for a while #ugh ugh ugh #personal

If Ulysses has a million haters, then I'm one of them. If Ulysses has one hater, then I'm THAT ONE. If Ulysses has no haters, that means I'm dead. If the world is with Ulysses than I’m against the world.

#this is slightly joking but like also not but also like am mixed on Ulysses on many factors #infuriating because i sympathize with his pain but it’s like #he is a well written and fundamentally flawed character whose hypocrisy I found doubly in #black characters I can tell were designed by white people with a semblance of an understanding of activism and bipoc oppression #but not enough for the character to not feel like hand holding for the majority white audience #plus personal grips with the whole twisted hairs thing and reference to slave braiding patterns #Ulysses irks me as a black person on a weird personal level and I can go into debt on why him being black is a big detractor for him to me #like he continues this cycle of distancing himself from his roots before remembering over and over again through his actions #he leave so much in his wake that the courier ends up correcting or helping like in honest hearts and old world blues because he’s self #righteous in a subtle way even to himself that he believes he stand out of his one man rule when he does not play an active hand #saw a post talk about how you choose to continue moving through his story and can leave at any moment and this it is partially your fault #but what of the oath that is set before you and is forced to take that he set up #I do not have to walk it but when I do the steps are not my own but those taken for me #you have to go out of your way to change it which is not something he expects because he’s playing by a story he’s been perpetuating in his #head about you two and the effect one man has when he’s continually been that one man more so than you as many of his actions directly lead #to the one you go through also the irony in the flag he continues to bear being the real reason he has no home #like he reps it when the package is likely enclave and thus use the same symbol #also still can’t get over how anyone could have delivered the package and he tries so hard to act like it was the couriers destiny or fate #when this was the one case of chance and that once man was likely a enclave engineer and how it’s really is never one man #it the process and he’s so annoying about it like he’s a cool character but if you don’t believe in his philosophy or already went through #these ideas cause they are very common talking points in poc especially BIPOC spaces he’s just old hashings and stunted #fallout #fallout new vegas #Ulysses you upset me but I’m like I feel you could be better if you weren’t so incessant #I don’t think I ever want to make a serious post stating this about him just because I’d start yapping and it’d never get finished #ulysses fnv #fnv ulysses #lonesome road

#strongly considering taking a gap year off school.#I discovered during orientation that my program is waaaay more intense than they let on during the application process #for instance unpaid fieldwork during the final semester or two that literally does not allow you to work even part time #I cannot afford this. I am trying to move out while making minimum wage and paying for school.#so taking a step back from courses to reevaluate and work and save seems like the correct move #but I haven't quite hit send on that email yet so prayers appreciated #I've been thinking about this all week and praying. don't want to rush into a bad decision but I really don't see what else to do #also please pray for a good living situation #I am possibly looking at a room in a house later this week #really need to move out ASAP and so I can't afford to be picky at all #but again I don't want to rush into a bad situation #so yeah lots of prayers appreciated!#feeling very low about all these circumstances at the moment but also trying to remember that this might end up being better than the plan #I had originally #maybe it'll be exciting to move out before I feel ready! but right now it's just scary.#college chronicles #diary
