AAAAAOMG UR TWST OC IS SO ADORABLE?? i'm absolutely in love with eden sm (+ his design?? the star eyes and the wings are my favorite,, i wanna smooch all his tattoos!) and i hope it's okay to ask a few questions about him... (I KNOW U SAID IT WAS OKAY BUT I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE 😭 i'm genuinely interested in knowing more!)

1) does he have anyone in the twst cast that he tolerates/likes? i know he's part of the whole harem thing but is there anyone he doesn't necessarily mind being around (or even sharing with the prefect?)

2) do grim and eden have a good relationship? i would assume so since they're living both with one another but do they just get along with each other for the prefect's sake or are they actually best buds? (๑ > ᴗ < ๑)

(little dumb idea but i think it would be so cute if the prefect treated the two as if they were all like a little family! eden and prefect being the two parents and grim their rambunctious kid lmao,, i would imagine the others not being so happy about it (っ‘ω`c))

3) is he okay with physical affection/pda? is he totally chill about it or would he rather shy about the whole thing? is he open to having the prefect touch his wings or his tattoos?

4) oooo any funfacts that you have about the new ramshackle resident?? just in general really if that's okay with u ofc!! ☆

Had to get one of those wheels ive seen going around where you put the oc and how they feel about the character and how the characters feel back about them, but with a twist lol (most of them are haters).

The ones he are most tolerant with are grim, ace, deuce, jack and kalim. Only one he could possible share with would either be kalim, jack or deuce, because of how he sorta is annoyed by ace.

Of course cant forget how he feels about you :) he thinks you are very very very special and he loves you a lot <3

He likes grim a lot, seeing as grim isn't one of the students that is oh so annoying. He warms up to the monster, seeing how gently you take care of grim, wanting to do the same. It feels, domestic, in his opinion.

Grim likes Eden a lot too, he has never belittled him, he has always made sure to feed grim along with Eden being very warm (and therefore very nice to sleep on). In grims opinion, he thinks you should go with Eden, cuz he is a good candidate for marriage (grim has been bribed with love, affection, and tuna).

He takes good care of the cat son, making sure he is healthy and happy.

Now onto pda. Eden are only okay with you touching the wings, the tattoo and the core, being as they are quite sensitive. The scar is still off limits, but maybe if you make him warm up to you even more you might be able to-

He loves when you help him with his wings, it's one of the best feelings out there. Fo mind that only you (and grim) can touch the wings, anyone else is off limits, ESPECIALLY ROOK HE IS FORBIDDEN TO TOUCH THEM.

Eden facts!! He has lil "ear-holes" like birds, just behind the feathers. Be careful around that part when you help him with his feathers, otherwise you might have a pouty and angry Eden on tour hands.

His eyes also glow in the dark! It's the scariest during the nightly snack runs down to the kitchen, seeing him suddenly stare at you, but you slowly get used to it!

You don't know where the extra eyes sometimes come from tho...

i always have fun naming my OCs, especially since it's always either something symbolic and meaningful or something totally random and kind of stupid. it's especially fun with TWST OCs since i try to follow the in-game naming conventions and those are just about the perfect mix of meaningful and kind of stupid, and since i'm sick and bored, here's some rambles about my OCs names

LYSANDER

theres actually no particular reason why i came up with this name lmao

it just kind of. popped up in my mind as i was trying to come up with a design for him (fun fact, i really just sat down one day and was all like "i'm just going to design my Yuu for funsies, i'm not going to do anything with it" and welp. look where i am now). my OCs just kinda name themselves sometimes. y'know how it is

but i had the name for him before i actually had his personality down and actually when coming up with his personality, i took a lot of inspiration from just the vibes his name gave me

also. this bitch

this bitch is the reason why i now dress like a victorian gentleman and i definitely had him on the back of my mind when making my own Lysander so you can see where some of his vibe came from

also in-universe Lysander named himself by just googling stuff like "fancy male names" and going on websites for baby names (the classic trans experience) lmao

since he doesn't remember his last name, i'm not really using it, but he does have one

his last name is actually Sinclair

i'm only saying that because it also has a kind of random backstory; there's a fanfic for a different fandom that rewired my brain chemistry when i was in high school. in that fic, the author used the last name Sinclair as a fanon name for one of the characters and i've been obsessed with it ever since lol

ROSIENNE MINUIT

Rosienne also kinda named himself

like, his name just popped up in my head when i was thinking about him and i was like OH MY GOD THAT'S GENIUS

like, it's an obvious pun on rose and it sounds kinda french so like. it's perfect

truly the only moment i've ever used my one singular braincell

also it's supposed to be pronounced Row-zien

i knew from the beginning i wanted his last name to be french from the beginning (since, you know, Beauty and the Beast is a french tale) so i just kinda flipped thru a dictionary lmao

his last name means "midnight" - i know in the Disney version Belle has to confess her love to the Beast before the last petal of the rose falls but i've seen some retellings of Beauty and the Beast where Belle has to do it before midnight of an x day or something idk

KALLE BRUNNE

heavens Kalle's name gave me SO MUCH trouble i was close to just giving up lmao

Kalle is a very obvious pun on "cauldron" because like, what else

i played around with a few different spellings of it before i settled on this one; i wanted to pick Kelle at first but that just kinda sounds bad

my first idea for their last name was Shard, as in, glass shard (since his signature spell is called Seaglass) but i discarded it because i wanted to play into the color theme the Octavinelle has going on with their names

"brunne" comes from "brun", which is brown in danish

danish because the author of the original Little Mermaid, Hans Christian Andersen was Danish and i love him (i grew up with this big ass book of his tales, it definitely gave me some trauma as a child) so i thought it would be a cute reference

ELIOTT EMBERS

his name definitely wins the "kind of stupid" category (and i say this with affection don't worry)

my thought process was literally just Cinderella -> Ella -> Eliott?

same with his last name; cinder, that's just ash, what are some other ash-related words?

and put together it has alliteration and that's always good in names

as i've said in his intro post, his last name is a reference to Reynard the Fox, a character from medieval literature that was a partial inspiration for the Robin Hood movie

Yandere!OC Headcanons (TWST Edition)

So I may be not finding it in my orbit, but for a thought exercise I wanted to explore the toxic sides of my OCs. Thought it would be an interesting character exploration. So I figured I’d try to write headcanons for if any of my OCs went off the Yandere Deep End. (NOTE: I shouldn’t have to but apparently need to preface that writing this is not me condoning said behavior or idealizing it. If you recognize patterns like this in people in your real life, I cannot advise one way or another what you do with that information.) (divider by @/saradika)

Eugenio Hernandez (Yuu):

To preface, Yuu is Ace, but not Aro. Most likely they would be the Toxic bud ya keep around cause their life sounds awful. Nobody wants to be somebody’s 13th reason; you don't wanna add to the pile of 'shit going wrong in their life'/'be another one of those people that leaves'. But when they blow their top, it’s explosive. But even then, they’d still have a ways to go before ever attempting to lay a hand on you. No, they’d rather rant and rave and exhaust themselves with how shit of a hand the world has dealt them. Once they’ve let off steam, they’re all mumbled apologies and cooking dinner to make up for it.

Tidus Rhin:

His yandere extreme would turn him into The Love-B52. His size would be enough to intimidate any into not leaving his smothering, even if he never gives any indication he'd act with it. He'd prefer acting like a kicked puppy at the prospect of you needing space. Don’t you see, though? He’s utterly fascinated with you, adores you, it’s almost fetishistic. The more you pull away, the more he’s going to try lavishing you in any ways he can think of. If that doesn’t dissuade you, maybe if you just take this potion to come under the sea with him and meet his family…Just check first if the potion is permanent or temporary.

Lázaro Muertinez:

This man loves to talk. He loves to serenade you and talk you up just as you do for his music career. But you’d need to be able to pick up and leave at a moment’s notice-fame is something to chase and it doesn’t wait. What are your reservations against coming with him? It doesn’t matter, he’ll find a way around it, for you of course. If you stick to your guns, though, Laz is the yandere that knows how to orchestrate an oh so convenient health scare. If that doesn't dissuade from leaving his side, then comes the silent treatment. He'll completely drop off the planet. No posts on social media, not returning calls, nothing. For a second the idea he might have done something drastic is exactly what he'd be counting on.

Aadesh Sona: 

This snake’s AroAce, but he isn’t above doing most anything to advance his goals. Gaslight, gatekeep, ghost-mode. He’s a psych major, so he knows how to twist his words and drop tidbits of info to confuse and trap you. He’s not being manipulative, you are for daring to get away. But he’ll be able to see the writing on the wall. He’ll back off. Prey is more difficult to catch when it struggles, anyway. And like an actual python, he will have everything poised for when you are in the prime position to strike. What will he do when he gets you back? Well, you and he will just have to sleep on it.

Rajesh Khan: 

As far as yanderes go, He’s the only TWST OC of mine who isn’t above using physical means of keeping a potential partner in line. It’s only reserved, though, for when money can’t buy your happiness and obedience. It’s with that same money that makes him nigh untouchable in court, should you try bringing his aggression to light. It’s both money, and the friends in equally high places that make escape from the tiger’s jaws almost impossible.

Albert Eastwind:

Can one blame him for being the controlling type? Similar to how people headcanon Yan!Jade and Azul, He'll provide everything you need or want. Why would you want to leave? Oh don't say he's smothering, he'll pick up more work to 'offer space' but also stifle the idea of you needing or wanting your own financial independence. But while he may work himself tirelessly to keep your cage gilded and shining, he will have your schedule down to the minute. Any deviation will be met with smiles and polite inquiries, but don’t lie to him. And don’t promise you won’t try escaping again if you’re planning on it; he hates pie crust promises.

chrysos will eat any ice cream flavor, pretty much. no favorites. i can imagine santiago enjoying any fruity (haha) flavors, and davis is basic he just enjoys plain ol vanilla or chocolate

on any given day you can find yu favoring either mint chocolate chip, raspberry sorbet, or cookie dough

chrysos - at least until he goes to nrc, and even then it remains somewhat of an internalized mindset, his most important person is rielle--for better or for worse. definitely for the worse. his life so far has just revolved around rielle, whether it was protecting him or wanting to be better than him or wanting what he has

santiago - he'll say it's himself, and he certainly acts like it sometimes, but he really considers the people around him the most important; and it's hard to tell if that caused his periods of low self-esteem or vice versa. um also you could very much look at the way he's supposed to covet material riches like his movie counterpart buuut

davis - i think what's always been most important to him is justice or fairness, basically doing what's right... he grew up believing that lying was bad, so of course he didn't do it, but it wasn't so much about lying itself as it is about his conscience and very strong sense of morality, so. i mean we get to see that degrade but he still cares a lot about justice

yu - himself, or rather the perception of himself, because his self-worth is literally non-existent and he ends up putting his relations with others and their views of him above all else since. he absolutely despises what he is without those things to cushion himself... dude you have serious problems

After a certain point, she wouldn't admit it, but she desperately craves a way to get home. Even though she doesn't necessarily want to go back to her house with her mom and stepdad, she still misses her mom and dad a ton and would do anything to see them again. Honestly, she probably wouldn't be above consulting forbidden magic texts or trying to develop magic herself in order to find a way home (God knows Crowley isn't)

As for how she feels about magic, she's actually pretty favorable towards it, if not a bit jealous of those who DO have magic. She wishes she had it herself for convenience

🩺Heinrich

Bro is. Surprisingly good at memorizing names and faces. Some attribute it to his weird idiosyncracy of calling individuals their names in a specific pattern(___ the ____) or maybe his. Freakish memory of things that happened years ago, but he knows every student that has ever happened upon his office or that he's had to sub for.

He's not usually too fond of keeping up with shenanigans or gossip unless they are targeting someone else for a change. Heinrich is often the target of pranks so he isn't usually super keen on being involved in whatever big drama is occurring at the time.

🎩Lewis

Honestly? Lewis is like. The worst example of a Heartslabyul student lmao. When it comes to chores, he's. Pretty atrocious about doing most of them on time (he'd rather be in his studio and recording), ESPECIALLY if he has to feed the flamingoes (he made a duplicate uniform and dyed it pink for this express purpose, but that doesn't mean he's very fond of it. In fact, he often tries to skip out on wearing it, but he usually winds up losing his head as a result). He DOES however enjoy helping prepare tea and such for the Unbirthday parties, since his family is pretty well known in his hometown for the tea that they grow. He knows his way around different types and how they're best prepared, so he actually kind of enjoys helping out when it comes to tea.

Bro probably only has memorized like two rules 💀

Joking aside, you'd think that based on how many times in the past few weeks Lewis lost his head that he'd actually have memorized SOME rules by now (mainly the ones he's frequently guilty of breaking), but he probably does follow some rules, either intentionally or unintentionally. As the rules pertain to tea, you know he's on it, but when it comes to running around underwater until you're dry or having a cat to play a fiddle? Nah, he'll just take the collar.

🌙Casimir

Casimir is classically trained in the violin and occasionally dabbles in music composition. His dad's side of the family are all classically trained musicians and some have even gone on to perform at important events both in his hometown and abroad. Despite not caring too much for the violin, he DOES enjoy music composition, if only because he wants "to create the ultimate theme befitting an Evil Overlord such as himself".

Aside from his Unique Magic (and even in that case), Casimir is shockingly mediocre at most magic in spite of his cocky attitude. Despite that, though, he's somehow INCREDIBLY skilled when it comes to practicing minor hexes and curses. Maybe it's the fact that he practices waxing poetic and using wild language in the mirror on a day to day basis, but no one really knows why this is for certain.

Orca mermaids, like irl orcas, tend to stick in a "pod", made up of famil members and Mayne a few tagalongs! They're divided based on their last names (ex, the "Freshwater" pod will be made up of those in the Freshwater family), so Tallulah belongs to the RingWater pod.

Having not as many white spots on her body compared to the other orcas, she has an advantage against prey if she hunts in the deeper areas of the ocean (of course, this also means that she won't be able to see as well, since it's dark lol). She's had some accidents hunting, when coming across sea creatures that can easily spot her in the darkness, but nothing life-threatening. Other than the cookie cutter shark that tried to nibble on her when she was a young lass.

Discovering her knack for some types of magic, as well as finding the concept of land fascinating, like many other mercreatures, Tallulah left her family to work on Sage's Island- eventually landing a part-time gig at the Night Raven College's library, and another part time job at an antique shop towards the coast. Both jobs keep her busy, for sure, but during her down-time, Tallulah will check out books from the library about magic and practice whenever she can. She's not very good at it due to no professional teachings, but it's a start!

Tallulah is a relatively quiet girl, who prefers to keep her thoughts to herself and doesn't see much reason so speak to strangers. But at least she's smart to make up for her lack of social-ness! Sis has those smart-orca genes, and is a cunning lil beyotch-. At NRC's library, she's known for being able to suggest specific books for classes and knows exactly where each individual book is (blame it on her being a huge nerd who spends most of her free time at said library, even though she's not an actual student...lmao, what a loser!!)

But alas, one day she has the unfortunate luck of running into Ray, a magicless human who's found herself stuck both in this world and in this school. The two strike up a quick friendship as Ray babbles on about her situation while Tallulah is working on sorting books, and since Ray doesn't have anything better to do, she pops back in to bother our dear little mer-orca gal every shift! Once they get close enough, Ray suggests that Tallulah should come live in Ramshackle with her and Grim, since it's a fairly large building and can house plenty other people! Not to mention they could use the extra muscle in fixing it up. Surprisingly, Crowley agrees (on the condition that he doesn't have to pay Tallulah for working at the library since he'll be giving her a place to live), and now there's one extra member of the Ramshackle home!

Since she's not technically a student, there are some areas of campus that are off-limits to her (pretty much just the main building in which classes are held) for a little while, but don't worry! She gets full-access to the campus after a month or so, just by doing some tasks for the Headmage.

And, in helping Ray and Grim with their classwork (as well as Ace and Deuce since, let's be honest, those two are ALWAYS at the Ramshackle house), Tallulah learns some more about magic, slowly working up her power and skills. She's still not a super-powerful mage, ofc, but baby steps! :)

personality: darren has a very good reputation among heartslabyul students. he's kind, he's polite, he makes sure everyone is doing okay and he also knows all 810 rules of this dorm, so he's able to stop someone from accidentally (or not really) breaking them. he's often teased for being a nerd though because of him being lowkey obsessed with those rules and a lot of students find it shocking that he actually does follow all of them. he has a soft, almost honey-like voice and his aura is able to calm almost anyone down. he also somehow knows everything about everyone's likes and dislikes, to the point that it's.. kinda concerning, since he can guess some people's type or crush and he won't need merrill's unique magic for that. but sometimes you can see darren just sitting and staring into nothingness and not making any sounds, some people are not even sure if he's breathing when that happens. if you try to make him pay attention to you when he's doing that, he will act a bit strange and will ask what's going on. sometimes he can literally just start listing some heartslabyul's rules before he's finally able to remember where he is right now and who he's talking to. but overall, he never causes any trouble. he always knows what everyone wants from him and he gives it to them. you don't have to worry about him. he won't break any rules. he is very, very obedient.

so, why is darren so obsessed with heartslabyul's rules? well.. the reason is simple. he actually was friends with riddle, trey and chenya back when they were younger. he was the third friend that riddle made. he was the quiet friend. he was the friend that often couldn't be there to play with them simply because he had no energy for that, even though he really wanted to see them. and.. he eventually became the friend that nobody remembered. when he started attending nrc, trey needed some time before he remembered who darren was. but in the end, trey was able to remember who darren was. riddle wasn't. in fact, darren didn't even know most things that trey and chenya knew about riddle. for example, he didn't know anything about his relationship with his mother. so when riddle stopped hanging out with trey and chenya, darren finally was able to start spending more time with them, but he didn't know the reason why riddle was no longer there. and trey and chenya thought that he already knew. so naturally, darren started to think that it was his fault and that riddle is avoiding him. but it's okay! it's okay, they're together again now. it's okay, darren will memorize all the rules just to impress riddle. it's okay, darren will tell him which students broke the rules this time to make riddle praise him. it's okay, darren will figure out which rose riddle prefers and if it's truly the red one. it's okay. it's okay, darren won't mess up this time. he will fix their relationship. everything will be fine. they'll be friends again.

no, darren does not like trey, even though they really were friends and he did like him when they were kids. but now darren thinks that him and riddle are a little bit too close. can't trey just leave riddle alone at least for a second and let darren become closer with him? what, is he in love with him or something? oh, okay, sorry, sorry, he just got a little.. annoyed, haha. also, he feels like trey is hiding something from him. he knows so much about riddle and darren knows so little. but it's okay, darren knows that he's the best friend riddle could ever wish for. and he won't let trey steal that title from him.

hm? what does he think about chenya?.. he's fine. mostly. he goes to a different school anyway, so he doesn't appear that often and that means he's not as close with riddle as darren, so he doesn't have to think about him as a rival. honestly, if darren had to choose, he'd rather become closer with chenya rather than trey. he feels like he doesn't have to pretend like he's somebody else around him and he doesn't have to "change its color" for him.

yes, he doesn't like seth. just who does he think he is? riddle would never like a guy like him, right? seth is so arrogant, so annoying, so noisy, he breaks as many rules as he can, he can quit literally anything at any moment just because he finds it boring and his style is so.. again, riddle would never like someone like him, right? and if he does.. w-well, m-maybe darren will have to turn into a red rose for him.

fun facts:

he actually kinda admires hayden and he can see right through his lies, but they rarely interact exactly because hayden knows that darren understands him too well. and also because hayden knows that the best way to manipulate him would be just.. turning into an exact copy of riddle. and he doesn't want to do that.

it's hard to say if what he feels for riddle is romantic or platonic. darren thinks that his feelings are platonic, but some students feel like that's not the case and it's definitely something stronger. i see his feelings as just pure obsession and an extremely strong desire to serve him and be by his side. nothing more, nothing less. it doesn't mean that darren would be against going on a date with him or being kissed by him though.

darren gets a little too excited when he sees riddle punishing the rulebreakers, to the point that he can just start laughing and/or blushing. the thought of riddle punishing darren himself both terrifies him and excites him just as much and he even screamed like a fangirl when he imagined it once.

he wears a necklace that's supposed to resemble thorns and it really is very sharp and even when he's still wearing it, when you look closely, you can see the red marks that it leaves on his skin. he doesn't even notice them though and finds it comfortable.

him and allen are definitely very similar (their names even sound almost the same in japanese sjdksldl), but still, when it comes to love and other feelings, they're very different. again, what darren feels for riddle is mostly just obsession and not romantic love, meanwhile allen cares A LOT about romance and it's his life's main purpose. also, darren doesn't really have any close friends even though his reputation is so good, meanwhile allen is hated and/or feared by almost everyone, but he still does have some friends (like jay). and darren is okay with throwing his entire personality away (has he ever had "his own" personality?..) for someone he likes, meanwhile allen would rather force his crush to accept him no matter what kind of person he is.

darren joined the science club to keep an eye on trey.

his hobbies are a reference to the roses being painted: it makes sense for him to like things like gardening and painting, though i don't think he's that passionate about them. i think it's just something he does to appear "normal".

azul is trying to become closer with him because of how smart darren is and even kinda wants him to transfer to octavinelle, because someone like him could be very useful, but darren just ignores him every time.

the reason why his talent is "knowing all the latest trends" is simple: he has to know what kind of people and what kind of things other people like so that it's easier for him to use his unique magic on them.

Hey so this is going to sound weird but do you think you can name drop some of those fics you mentioned back in april? The ones where Yuu is RSA-like or heroic in general. Most of the Yuus I see in writing are just sassy and talk and sound like they are just very annoyed with everyone in general with having a few favourites and just very sassy. Which doesnt really fit me. Of course you can disregard this request I just really want to find a fic where Yuu is heroic.

Bit more of an explanation. Back when I got into the fandom back in ye' olden days of 2020, a lot of the fics were like how I described—starring meek, shy wallflowers who would let others walk all over them. That's a big reason why I wanted to turn Addie, my own "Yuu" into a more complex version of the "rich popular mean girl" archetype—to separate her from that.

Like you mentioned, it is getting better. There are a lot more sassy and confident Yuus on the market. Hell, I even bookmarked some fics like that on AO3. I can see why. Game Yuu, despite having the personality of tinfoil, does have some sassy remarks every once in a while.

However, that's not what I was talking about with that post. Being sassy and confident doesn't necessarily mean that character is more villain-like. If anything, that's literally half of western YA protags.

Take my own "Yuu". While she is sassy and bold, she is also not a good person and fits in perfectly with the NRC boys if it wasn't for her gender. She's: secretive, guarded, untrusting, judgemental, materialistic, selfish, overly critical, petty, is a huge diva among other things. She did something horrible in her past that I think would make half of the characters in the game go, "What the fuck is wrong you?" She is most like Vil personality wise, which should say something. She isn't annoyed with everyone around her, so she has that going for her. xD

So what I was getting at more was that I think that people should make their characters more villainous. I still stand by the fact that I think most of the guys outside of the "Light Trio" (aka Kalim, Rook and Silver) would prefer a partner who is a little twisted in their own right. Just so their partner truly understands them and knows where they're coming from. If Leona or Jamil dated a more RSA-like partner, they would probably dump them, since they feel like they are being talked down to. I don't expect others to agree with me, but that's what I think.

As for examples like you're describing, to be completely honest, most of the ones are REALLY bad. And since I don't want to bash on other writer's fics, I would rather leave them out of this discussion. But if you want to see some good ones with more heroic and goody goody Yuus/female mcs, check out: "The Scent of Your Heart" by thefirecrest, "A Man After My Own Heart" by Haiokha, @twistedwonderlandsevenmemories series by TwistedStories, some of the female ocs in @thosebrookfieldgirls series by BloodRoseKnight or any of vannahfanfics's TWST fics. (As a heads up, the "Yuu" in the second one I mentioned is gender neutral or non-binary. Not sure if that's a turn off for you, but there's that.)

But if you want a more general rule of thumb, read more fics from the 2020-2021 era before the ENG game came out. That's when more fics like I'm describing were more popular.

Happy 4th Anniversary for TW:OPT!

(Two weeks late, but better than never.)

Can't believe it has been 4 years, eh? Can't believe I'm almost one year without posting any TW:OPT related since the final episode. I don't even think I ever post a Behind the Fic for chapter 163. Sorry about that.

I honestly don't know what am I supposed to make for this year. Honestly my biggest goal is to finish all of my wip, including ideas for TW:OPT Gaiden, before moving on to Book 2.

But sometimes I even wonder whether I want to write Book 2 or not.

Don't get me wrong; I still like Twisted-Wonderland. I still love my fic. But the spark is not there anymore. And I don't know why.

I mean, I barely interact with main content of TWST nowadays. Am I overwhelmed? Maybe. Am I having a burnt out? Perhaps. Or maybe I'm just getting old. It just doesn't feel the same, but I cannot pinpoint why it is different.

There were times when I thought: "what's the point? nobody will read this anyway" and wanting to delete everything to start a new or just disappear quietly. It's not like anyone gonna miss me, right?

Which is strange. Back when I wrote TW:OPT for the first time, I don't really care about the reaction. I was writing it for funzies. I know I didn't fit the target audience with the male oc-centric, so I never expected it to pick up. I was just going to write it until I stop and abandon it like many times.

But then you guys came, dearest reader. I never expected much, so it doesn't took me by surprise. I never expected so many people to like this little story. Even now I still sometimes go back and read your comments. Those were the moments when I felt like finally I did something right.

Meet new friends who I'll always treasure them in my heart and I lost a friend, which kinda makes me afraid in commenting others' WIP, but that's another story. I feel like I learn more about writing when planning for TW:OPT that I've ever before in school. It was a good times to find something to do, especially during quarantine, might I dare to say TW:OPT was the that bring me through quarantine. It came at the right place, at the right time.

But there are times, many even, when I looked at the neighbor's grass and see that it is greener. I thought I could handle myself, but jealously will come sooner or later. Insecurities is not a nice thing. It will eat you up until it left you crumbling to your knees. And the biggest thing that annoy me is that the fact that I care. I admit I don't have the best understanding with my surrounding and can be apathetic, so I shouldn't have feel jealous or anything. I'm the type of girl who can admit defeat and knows when others can do better things than me, so why can't I accept this? I've written a lot of fic and I never expect any reaction. So why am I bothered with attention when writing TW:OPT?

There's a saying: "Above the sky there is another sky". I know that. I know there are many writers better than me. Heck, my friends are better writer than me. Do I want to be the only writer? Absolutely not! If someone as pathetic like me can find joy in writing, I'm sure many will as well! I wasn't intended to gatekeep. So why am I feeling jealous like this?

If I have to explain this the best I can, it will be maybe like this: Writing is the only thing that I can enjoy and at least have a decent skill. Even if in real life I keep this a secret, at least I can take pride by myself. And when that one thing is taken from you, what is left? If TW:OPT is my one pride, what happen when it doesn't give you the same happiness anymore?

It's a thing that I noticed. After the middle of Scarabia Arc, I don't feel as happy as I used to when writing it. It became a chore. The thing where it supposed to be a stress-reliever, was instead became the cause of stress. I was plagued with the thoughts: I need to update. I have to update. When can I write? They've waited for too long. I can't stop now. I must finish this goddamn fic. It shouldn't have take three years to complete this damn fic. Why can't I update everyday like before? What wrong with me? Am I losing my touch? Why I don't get that many attraction anymore? Do they hate my work now? Am I not as good as I thought I am? Everyone is better than me. Why can't I be like them? Are my readers disappointed in me? Are they already moving on because I took too long? No one cares anymore. Always knew that I'm irrelevant. I'm just wasting my time trying to get something that's never mine.

But I'm still clinging onto TW:OPT. I'm not ready to say goodbye just yet. I still have Book 2/Last. I promised to myself that I will write it. I want to complete it. It doesn't matter if Twisted-Wonderland continue into Year 2 or 3 or 4. My goal is to complete Year 1.

I just...I don't want to disappoint you guys. I don't want to disappoint myself. I don't want this to be an abandon project. I just want to finally complete something that I started on my own will for once in my goddamn life.

What a hubris thought, huh? I'm sorry. I must've sounded like a selfish, attention-seeking, and ungrateful little bitch, aren't I? "Write for yourself" as they would say; I don't deserve to complain like a baby. I'll stop now.

I honesty don't know where is this rambling goes. I don't think I've ever talk like this before. Sorry. This might be a bad look on me, but it has been eating in me for the longest time. Does it feel good to let it out? Maybe. Or maybe I'm not able to feel anything anymore.

I just want to be happy in writing again. I want to be optimistic in my writing again. I don't want to be jealous of others. That one spark that I had back in early TW:OPT, I need it again. I want to try again. I want to write for TWST again. There are so many WIP that I want to write before I maybe disappear again. I know I will go back to write for Book 2. But not in this state. Not in this mental state where I think will care anymore.

I just want to be happy in my writing again.

I don't know... What do I do? I can try writing more. Will it help? It won't be another futile attempt? Or am I really hopeless and never have the chance since the very beginning. TW:OPT is my peak after all. It'll only go downhill from here.

1. Well, you didn't specify which fic, but that doesn't really matter because... uh... I don't really have one, whatever you ask about? Like I mentioned in a previous ask game, I don't listen to a lot of songs that have lyrics, and if I borrow any lines from titles, it's almost always from poems rather than songs. Like, I cannot impress how much I'm not a person to make character or fic playlists. I know some authors who do, and that genuinely blows my mind, I have so much respect for some people who can actually think of actual songs when writing instead of purely Vibes.

17. I learned a lot while writing! A lot on bird behavior, for example, and also how stuff like country fairs work. For Aquarium I obviously research a lot of octopus and eel biology (like that post about the Large Pacific Striped octopus - that was one of the first things I learned when doing preliminary research around the start of the fic, or the eel teeth stuff that I promised a separate post on and never actually wrote it) I occasionally research language stuff, too. I do not want to think of the implications of NRC actually hosting students with very different native languages (that's a disaster waiting to happen - even if some people, like Leona, Kalim, Vil, Rook, etc. would have access to good education pre-NRC, that's far from the truth for a lot of other students. What about Deuce? Ruggie? They're 16 when they start, too, and we have no indication that anything but magical prowess (and possibly trauma) are the criteria for getting admitted. Like, even at university level, studying in a language you don't know too well, even if it means living surrounded by that language, is extremely hard and usually means, well, that the studying part doesn't go very well (I've seen that both first-hand and in friends' accounts). Anyway, as you can see, the concept of languages in twst gives me a massive headache because while it's explicitly said that different languages exist, it's very unclear how exactly. I get that it's a conventionality born out of the game being primarily in a single language; but as with many things fairy tale cough - mer biology - cough if you think about it long enough it stops making sense. So I don't.) Still, I do try to give the characters colloquialisms and stuff more fitting for the culture they're inspired by - and that means researching quite a lot of idioms. I think the hardest bit of research I have to do is Floyd's nicknames for the NPCs. I'm not super knowledgeable about fish, so coming up with a name fitting a character can be hard.

18. I'll be very honest, I'm quite proud of the last line of the currently last chapter of Aquarium (28). I wanted it to elicit a response and boy did it. I think my absolute favorite lines are still the ones written for a few old fandoms - and I don't know if I want to post them here, but I believe my absolute peak banger was a nightmare description in a RWBY fanfic. So, limiting things to stuff on this account... I'm very fond of a few lines in my Angstober stuff - they're short, so I like to think they had some impactful lines, but I'm not sure how impactful they are out of context. Still, some of my favorites that I think hold up even taken out of context (yes, this is just me shamelessly promoting my original work and my OCs. sorry.):

I chose the first part because at first, Hayden keeps trying to reflect what someone wants, right? As for Clean, this is after his redemption arc, when he doesn't have to always keep up his facade anymore! Especially with Riley since he can be himself around him without any judgment! Okay first of all, we had that small bit where Hayden danced with Rollo instead while Seth had to go with the NRC students to safety, right? So yeah Rollo didn't mean to hurt Seth, he just wanted to reach his goal (which I can't really talk about because I haven't watched the event myself). Now the second one happens some time afterwards, when they're together. It reminds me of them because of their long distance relationship, you know? While they're apart, all they can do is send each other letters/texts which isn't always enough, and that's why they hope that their love can reach each other!

So basically sol's ocs are just a big group of friends, right? That's why the first line reminded me of them! And especially because of Ignis, they're both laughing together and having fun. The second line is just Meditrina getting "roses" from Ignis and noticing they're actually carnations because despite having a plant expert gf, he's still a little dumb ksjkdks (affectionate)

IVY x VIL

Down bad, down horrendous. That's really all I can say about the first thing. The second is just Vil being the super famous celebrity that he is and Ivy being, well, in the crowd cheering him on. Despite that, he still notices her and is just being the amazing person he is! He's incredibly polite and gives her a signed picture of him! It sounds like an idol x fan au and I know that's not the case, but it just sounded like it fits and I think it's cute

VANCE x RILEY

They're just. Tiny!! Small!! They start off as friends then they start to see they like each other, the good old friends to lovers!!! They're spending time together one day and all of a sudden, (what I think is) Vance realizes he likes Riley and ajsnndkcmksnd (This also reminds me of that one short scenario about Vance and Bobbie. Y'all remember that?)

ALLEN x NEMIS

They both had childhoods where they had fun: Allen played with Lumi and Nemis was happy with her sisters and parents. That's until Allen lost his best friend and, well, it went downhill. For Nemis, (I'm realizing I haven't talked about this enough) she lost her parents, the two people who were able to calm her down whenever she was upset. I can see them both seeing past each other's faults and telling the other that it'll be all right from then on because no matter what happened in the past, they're still the same innocent person.

HAYDEN x ELPYS

Hayden is really out here getting another part. Anyway, this is also after Overblot™ and his reputation went 📉📉📉 which means!! Whoever likes him has to like the real him, without putting on a mask! That's how we get to Elpys has always been open to befriending him even before his overblot and yayyy that's all, I want them to find happiness

RHYNSTINE x RUGGIE

This happened so suddenly—I was just sitting down and thinking who would've fit Rhyne and for some reason it just feels like a fun dynamic?? I think Ruggie would help Rhyne take her mind off things (because she's constantly worried about something) but he'd also have the capacity to help her out when she needs it! Meanwhile Rhyne is looking after Ruggie as well because that's just in her nature PLUS she scolds Leona. Which is the best part. Also in my head they just look cute together 🥺

CIRCE x FLOYD

They're both so energetic and just !!!! Whenever they're together, it's all laughter and smiles. I know Circe isn't good at dancing, but as long as she's having fun then it's okay! Circe's also got her story of being bullied and that's why she escapes to Mostro Lounge, right? That's why I thought the lyrics fit even more. Then Floyd greets her with a big hug and brings her mind away from her bad day and aaaaa they're so adorable together

IVY x JAMIL

Ivy absolutely helps Jamil rest. She might drive him up the wall sometimes, but Jamil appreciates her nonetheless. I can definitely see this scene happening. Jamil is working late in the kitchen because apparently Kalim had invited people over to the dorm for brunch together. Ivy sees him and she asks him to take a break, ending up with them dancing with each other.

COLETTE x TITUS

When I thought of this, I was thinking this was sort of after Colette ran away from home and met Titus. She was mad at her family for replacing her, and meanwhile Titus looked after her since she was unfamiliar with living without the care of her family. I like how Titus cares for her as the pain from being replaced is still fresh, even though they just met and they don't know each other. I think it's sweet!

REAL!JAY x ELPYS

So Jay is just in Ramshackle living that No Lifer Life (me too, my dude). It's like he's forgotten and he can't be as good as the others, like an old cardigan. But nevertheless, Elpys comes over and tries to bring him out to the sun! She doesn't mind that he seems like he won't grow into a successful person, he's still one of the people she likes to hang around with the most and she'll be with him until he can bring himself to the light on his own!

IRIS x ONYX

You can tell this is from Onyx's pov 😭 He has been pining for how long?? And yeah he just really likes Iris but there's been no progress !! At all !! That's why it's just that

ARIETTA x YULE

After that she does her absolute best to assure Azul of his abilities and be genuine with him so he doesn't think she has some underlying motive. I absolutely 100% believe that he would be more comfortable and vulnerable with her

MERRILL x ESTELLE

Estelle is more emotional and vulnerable around people she's close to, that's why I chose this. And I absolutely love the vibes the song has, I'd love for them to have this song. I imagine Merrill doesn't judge her at all, and she does the same for him. I love the mutual understanding and trust they have, I think it's really sweet and I LOVE THEM !!!

EUREKA x EPEL

In my imagination, Eureka is admiring Epel in her head (and accidentally blurting it out sometimes) and she thinks he's beautiful, inside and out! She absolutely believes that he can be the person he wants to be in the future, and she hopes he can stay just as beautiful as he is now. That's what I think, at least!

ACHLYMNA x JADE

Everyone thinks Jade is scary, but it was sort of different for Nana. Yeah, she also thought he was scary but when she finally talked to him, she didn't think that anymore. Even more surprising, she wanted to talk more. so yea !!

Listen, I know their relationship is sort of angsty, but consider. After both of their arcs (chapter 6 and lise with her family stuff). They stick together, through bad or worse, through all their problems! They might have pushed each other away at one or some points, but they still managed to go back to each other! Look at them, battling through everything life throws at them together!! Only true gamers know the cheat codes and special moves they use to get through all that

Stubborn yet charming. Like most Octavinelle students, Jewell will do anything to get his way, including underhanded tactics. And if something is not to his liking, he will complain. A lot.

Unique Magic: "Such a pity..."

Jewell can condense a fantasy of his making into the form of a bubble. Once this bubble pops against the skin of someone, the afflicted person will soon fall asleep, dreaming of the fantasy the bubble was made from. This slumber can last up to 13 hours at the most. Outside forces will not wake the sleeping person, however, they can definitely become aware that they are dreaming and wake themself up. (Like how Sarah sees the clock and realizes she's dreaming in the ballroom scene in Labyrinth.)

Backstory!!

Jewell is the only son of a fae archivist and resides in the Briar Valley. Considering the amount of fae species spread throughout the world of Twisted-Wonderland, it occurred to Jewel's great-great-grandfather many years ago to begin to archive information about all of these species. Their work is nowhere near done, hence why Jewell is next in line to continue the work of his ancestors. Jewell doesn't particularly want this role. He's more upset that he isn't somewhere else touring with some friends and playing guitar. But there's not much he can do, is there? Life isn't fair.

As a result of his father's profession, he had to travel around a lot, leaving Jewell with a near-nonexistent relationship with his father. His mother, on the other hand, is overbearing in the sense that she is far too worried about his physical safety and well-being to the point where she doesn't allow Jewell to leave the estate by himself. Yet, she has made no point to try to fix Jewell's unsavory way of treating the people around him. Objectively, he is mean and manipulative for fun.

There IS more to Jewell's backstory but I'm still working on some characters involved with him, so this is a WIP for now :3

Fun Jewell Facts:

-Jewell can turn into a barn owl (he also screeches like one!) -He has a deal with Azul where he technically doesn't "work" at the Mostro Lounge like other students. He's entertainment. He'll play guitar or do magic tricks for customers. -He has this DRAMATIC ASS on-and-off relationship with another oc I have twisted from Howl Pendragon LMAO -One time he scared a napping Leona on purpose. Leona knew it was Jewell. He didn't give a shit. -He's like the only Octavinelle student who actually passed flight class (that's not saying much he passed with a D+). Well, he takes potion-making over flight now but before he was a third year? -Jewell can turn his head 270 degrees like an owl. He also is able to eat small rodents and bugs. They don't taste very good but he says he eats mice regularly to scare people. -HATES Malleus Draconia with a PASSION for NO REASON. Anarchy except for the King of Goblins, he's okay. -He acts in films for the Film Studies club on occasion. Jewell mainly helps with general audio stuff and helps compose music.

Hence why I gave Jewell heterochromia.) -The pouch hanging from his belt looks like Hoggle's pouch of trinkets that Sarah steals at some point for a reason. -I created the whole barn owl subset of fae entirely because of Jareth shifting into the form of a barn owl in Labyrinth. -Jewell's mother Anastasia is technically twisted from the Junk Lady. I chose her because, in a SINGLE draft of the Labyrinth script, she was Jareth's mother. And I thought it was FUNNY.

This boy is a combo of Jareth (shown to be selfish and manipulative) and Ziggy Stardust (literally died because he got too famous and let it get to his head). Get him help his ego is farrr too big.

Your drawing are absolutely stunning and as someone who's hesitant to share OC lore etc. for a couple of reasons that aren't worth getting into right now - every time I think back to the lore drop of your Yuu I get weirdly motivated to work on my own burned out boi and maybe post about him and my other TWST OC here and there (although I'm not sure if all that can simply be called "lore drop" with how much thought and work you've put into that post; it looks amazing 👀)
