#it just doesnt feel like starclan did a thing
Text
I never fully bought the whole "scourge lost because god" thing, like it is pointed out in the text that not believing in starclan was a weakness. However starclan never actually...did anything specific. it was just a weakness of not knowing how the lives system worked. More just ignorance on the abilities of the opponent then anything more directly divine. The nine lives system just happened to take scourge off guard. We know he can kill a cat in a way that takes all of their nine lives. Like Starclan was definitely a factor, but it was less "the power of god strikes down evil" and more something they just kinda did tangentially, like its related, but its not a one to one for "struck down by god." No amount of nine lives would save Firestar if Firestar couldn't fight after all.
if Firestar had missed that blow or if Scourge hadn't turned around Scourge definitely could have dragged out that fight a long time. So like yeah power of god had kinda an effect, but it really was more circumstantial of just Scourge lacking some knowledge. I fully believe with how ruthless Scourge and Bloodclan fights, if he actually knew about the nine lives thing he might have managed to take all of Firestar's life because Scourge fights dirty and would have certainly kept attacking his downed body as he loses his first life.
If you want a cat more directly struck down by god mudclaw is right there though

Kirei
He fucked up so many people's lives so badly in just one decade (not on purpose) that the universe put him in the summoning pool of all world influencing souls. He doesnt really have any special powers but he does serve as a vessel for rasputin at one point. He's the guy who says "people die when they are killed"
please please please there's literally a type moon character in the gif on the top of this form so it's typemoonphobic if none of them get in but it shouldn't be her it should be kirei bc he's 50x funnier & more iconic than jeanne. funny lil murder priest who's fucking THE gilgamesh (from the epic of) in the church basement and dies in a knife fight w a 17 year old whose dad he wanted to fuck back in '94 before realizing that he was actually kinda lame and he's been bitter abt it ever since. he has an orphan torture factory in his basement but he's also canonically good at being a priest. he's so funny you should def try his mapo tofu i swear it's totally safe for human consumption and not made with any california reapers. did i mention he's a deadbeat dad.
Tumblr media
Priest claims to be Pro Life to make Sakura Matou the most miserable girl on the planet, but he dies anyway.
bro became a catholic because he loves suffering
He’s a priest. Kind of. Not a very good priest obviously. There is something seriously wrong and fucked up with that man. It’s so entertaining.
he's gotta be one of the most insane catholic men ever with a very in-depth and interesting relationship with his religion and his relationship with god also he's the sexiest man ever to be conceptualized in the known universe and all of time
Will never forget the 40+ minute monologue in heavens feel being a thinly veiled metaphor for abortion
he wants to torment churchgoers and make them face their failures and suffering but all he ends up doing is motivate them to improve themselves. cringefail moment for him
he's absolutely insane. the coldhearted mercenary that barely reacts to anything is terrified of kirei. he's super fucked up. his ult in stay night is literally him channeling divine power into something called kyrie eleison. he's the vessel of rasputin (on account of being a priest with a huge....no i shant say) the biblical beast in grand order among other things. he gets drunk with and tops gilgamesh from the epic of gilgamesh in the church basement after gilgamesh from the epic of gilgamesh bats his eyes a little too hard at kirei in some of the horniest shot scenes ive ever seen. he also used to be a heretical "fixer" for the church, cleaning up scenes that would expose shit to the public. uhh what else. he holds cool swords between his fingers like a kid pretending to be wolverine but in my favorite route he just squares the hell up with the protagonist and they fight to the death outside planned parenthood
Firestar
Kitty jesus, he believes in starclan which is the kitty version of heaven/god and yea. All the warrior cats characters except those outside the clans or those that are atheist believe in the kitty heaven and would irl be bri-ish and christian as hell so. The authors are all older british christian women and so the way starclan is written is like undoubtedly that.
The main religion in the series is extremely catholic coded. Most clan cats believe in Starclan and the Dark Forest(or heaven and hell). There is a set of rule they must uphold and follow, where following them leads to heaven and breaking them leads to hell. Their religious leaders are sworn to celibacy, and the punishments that "code breakers"(or cats who break the rules) face are extremely similar to situations people with religious trauma have gone through.
OP notes: apparently converted to avoid getting his balls cut?? Idk. The discord yet wild for firestar so I had to include him because it's hilarious hehehe

I was thinking about some of my favorite warrior cats, and i remembered this kittypet i got really attached to: Snowdrop. She was one of the kittypets encountered by the patrol sent to investigate what was blocking the river. I remember shipping her and Lionblaze together hardcore as a young child, and today i toyed with the idea in my mind again just to see where it went.
Far. It went far. It and other headcanons/tweaks completely changed the focus of Omen of the stars.
Things go as normal on the patrol itself, but when they got home, Lionblaze feels different. Dovepaw would assume he misses the patrol cats which leads to her trying to get them all to meet up again. Shes taught the same lesson she did, but this time she doesnt learn it. She keeps pushing until eventually shes forcing Lionblaze back to twoleg place. Him and Snowdrop talk again and have a good time, much to Dovepaws delight. This leads to Snowdrops interest in clan life, and Lionblaze. He did fight a beaver after all, thats impressive! After Lionblaze and Dovepaw went home, she’d follow. This leads to a confrontation between Snowdrop and Lionblaze where he cant say no and make her trek all the way back to twoleg place, so he begins sneaking off to teach her about the clans. Sometimes Dovepaw joins in to help, which leads to her so easily becoming friends and sneaking off to meet Tigerheart. Lionblaze has done nothing to really teach her its wrong.
To back track and shift focus ever so slightly, lets go back to when Lionblaze and Dovepaw left to visit Snowdrop. Cinderheart, now without Lionblaze or Hollyleaf, begins hanging out with Jayfeather more. As he uncovers her past life as Cinderpelt and she begins feeling pressured to conform to Starclans wishes and become a medicine cat like Cinderpelt. Jayfeather, all too familiar with the sentiment, fights tooth and nail to help Cinderheart forge her own destiny and identity. Shes not Cinderpelt after all, shes Cinderheart, and that means something. This reignites his will to fight against Starclans will himself, just as he had tried as an apprentice. Poppyfrost could do it, Briarlight could do it, Cinderheart could do it, why cant he?
Eventully, Snowdrop decides she wants to join Thunderclan. Lionblaze is nervous but he actually likes the idea of not having to sneak around to see her. Not like he did with Heathertail. Something thats been on his mind since he first started this little routine with Snowdrop. It had done nothing but remind him of his lost friend, and fallen sister, Hollyleaf. But if Snowdrop does become a Thunderclan warrior he wouldnt have to feel so guilty, and its this thought that convinces him to bring Snowdrop to Firestar. Firestar, being an ex-kittypet himself and Lionblazes grandfather, gives in and allows her in so long as Lionblaze teaches her the ropes. The rest of the clan isnt so happy. However Dovepaw, now Dovewing, is ecstatic. She is confused by Snowdrops negative reception and speaks up about it, earning the ire of many. This leads Ivypool to distance from her significantly more than she had been (seeing as shes had the same plot for the most part), but also to begin stalking Dovewing when she went out alone. Of course, this leads to her learning about Tigerheart.
Cinderheart had been slightly jealous of Snowdrop, and all the attention Lionblaze dedicated to her now, but had decided to move past it by now. There were better things to worry about than a fading crush on a childhood friend. Things such as her old apprentice, and how weird she had been acting. She begins prodding Ivypool for answers which leads to her gathering bits and pieces about the dark forest and Tigerheart and Dovewings relationship. She shares these with Jayfeather, who then looks deeper into the dark forest cats and trainees. When Spottedleaf steps in tosave him, he refuses, and actually ends up meeting Snowtuft. That mixed with meeting Ashfur in Starclan leads him to turning his back on Starclan altogether, and starts him on a path to forgiving Squirrelflight and Leafpool. He also begins working with Ivypool to plan against the dark forests invasion.
By bringing Snowdrop to the clan, Lionblaze has been outcasted by the majority of his clanmates. Cats like Squirrelflight and Leafpool support him though, and even help defend Snowdrops place in the clan. This leads to Lionblaze forgiving and accepting them. Berrynose was uncertain about her at first, but accepted Snowdrop, causing a feeling a mutual respect to foster between him and Lionblaze. And the same with Berrynose’s family. After all, Daisy, Mousewhisker, and Hazeltail are all outsiders too. Poppyfrost took some time but warmed up aswell, Snowdrop did help entertain the kits. Thornclaw, Spiderleg, and Mousefur were not so pleased, going out of their way to insult and scrutinize the two. They claimed Lionblaze only let her join so he wasnt breaking the code if they became mates, which made him feel oddly guilty. They werent mates, they were friends, thats all. He still liked Cinderheart right?
He took Cinderheart on a stroll to try and convince himself it was true, which led to his own discovery about the dark forest and Dovewings half-clan relationship. By the end, Cinderheart had fully accepted Lionblaze moving on, and Lionblaze was left dreading his lack of butterflies around the molly. This led to him acting weird around Snowdrop, who had began struggling to feel at home in a clan that seemed to not want her.
Ivypool, by now, had begun spying for Jayfeather. Jayfeather had begun refusing to go to half clan meetings and gatherings (which is how we skip over the kinda dumb Flametail plot) leading to Leafpool getting her job back. She encouraged Jayfeather to still help take care of his clan mates using his knowledge on herbs, but also suggested he trained under a warrior in his newly acquired free time if he really wanted to. If Jayfeather wanted to turn his back on Starclan who was she to try and convince him otherwise? She owed Starclan no favors. Jayfeather. Began training under Poppyfrost when the queen got restless, then eventually Brightheart again when Berrynose shooed Jayfeather off.
Upon Hollyleafs return things start getting serious. War with the dark forest is fast approaching. She reconnects with her brothers and old friends, especially rekindling a bond with Cinderheart. She is forgiven by and forgives Squirrelflight and Leafpool, going to them for updates on the clan frequently, an helping Leafpool out with herbs when Jayfeather is out training. She even helps Jayfeather train, and Snowdrop. This leads to her and Lionblaze having a conversation about Heathertail, during which Hollyleaf comforts him. The warrior code is important, yes, but she does not have to judge with the same scrutiny that Starclan does. This eases his nerves enough for him to tell Snowdrop about his feelings, which she reciprocates. He had introduced her to a new life, and stuck through the hardships to help, he was loyal.
When Jayfeather finds out Hollyleaf is alive, he abandons Starclan altogether. They cant know much of anything if they cant even know if a cats dead or not. Who are they to guide his paws for him.
Hollyleaf learned of Ivypools spying through Jayfeather and Cinderheart both, and offered to help hide it from their clanmates and even join her in the dark forest itself. This aided Ivypool greatly, which eased Dovewings nerves enoughto let her focus on her and Tigerheart. She hated how they had to hide while Lionblaze didnt, and while she wanted to come out with it, Tigerheart did not. When Dovewing said that if he truly loved her, he’d announce it himself, he choked up, unable to dedicate himself fully. He had a reputation, and what would his clan mates think? His father? His sister? Dovewing was heart broken, returning to Thunderclan to be comforted by her sister. She hated the borders. She hated the borders and what they did to cats. How much hurt came from them. Lionblaze and Snowdrop suffered because of them, Leafpool and Crowfeather, Her and Tigerheart. She couldnt even have friends from across the border like Sedgewhisker or Petalnose.
When the three get together to discuss the prophecy and plans against the dark forest, they come to a discovery. They each resent a part of clanlife. Jayfeather resents the blind faith in Starclan. Lionblaze resents the hatred surrounding outsiders and the clans xenophobic mindset. And Dovewing resents the clans separation and hatred of eachother. Each has strayed from Starclan, and each has grown more powerful because of it. Jayfeather can go into peoples minds, Lionblaze can fight against impossible odds and come out unscathed, and Dovewing can hear anything coming from miles away. They hold the power of the stars in their paws, because they are not bound by them, because they are not blinded by their light like so many cats are.
Leafpool is the one who tells them theres a forth cat, which leads to theorizing on all ends. Jayfeather thinks its Cinderheart, as not only is she a reincarnation, but directly strayed from Starclans path. Lionblaze thinks its Hollyleaf, she was no longer blinded by the code and had appear right in time to help prepare against the dark forest. Dovewing thinks its Ivypool, whos been helping spy against the dark forest almost since the beginning, and has looked past the code to comfort her sister. Squirrelflight and Leafpool also get thrown around, until Firestar approaches them. Hes listened in on a few of the meetings theyve had, and takes the responsibility of being the fourth cat. Hes a cat from outside the clans, hes seen what the borders can do to the clans, and hes gone against Starclans will before. Starclan owed him too much to smite him.
The final battle goes almost the same, except rather than Starclan cats, Tribe cats help the clans. Thunderclan specifically had helped them when they needed it most, and neither group would exist without the other. Also rather than Spottedleaf saving Sandstorm from Mapleshade, its Jayfeather, who is then saved by Firestar. He earns his grandfathers praise shortly before his death. Snowdrop fights as fiercely as any warrior to protect her clan, ending up saving Mousefur from Brokenstar. Finally, she earns her clanmates respect, and is particularly praised by Mousefur. Mousefur still dies later on from infected injuries, joining Longtail in Starclan. After killing Tigerstar for the final time, Firestar is killed by a falling tree, too weakened to escape. Hes greeted by a plethora of Starclan cats floating down into Thunderclan camp, coming down to apologize and praise the clan cats.
Dovewing and Tigerheart eventually get back together in Avos, Snowdrop and Lionblaze eventually have kittens to replace the CinderLion kits, Jayfeather decides to stay as a medicine cat but participates in warrior duties regularly, mostly with Conderheart as they mourn the loss of Hollyleaf together. Ivypool also mourns Hollyleaf especially, having begun to idolize the she-cat. I don’t actually see Ivypool having kits in this au because shed help take care of Dovewings but you can do whatever you want. Same with Cinderheart, she helped Poppyfrost raise her kits. Alderheart is trained by Leafpool but is greatly influenced by and idolizes Jayfeather, who cusses Starclan out for him. Also i think Dovewing and Tigerheart step in to help Twigkit and Violetkit separately, which leads to them getting back together.
Thunderclan begins down the path of major change, led by Bramblestar and his brief crush on Jessie.
If events are out of order i apologize! This is an au, obviously, and its been awhile since i read the books. I stopped reading at avos. Also sorry for typos i wrote this bery quickly

Most impactful death scean:
Probably Yellowfang. I really love mentor-y characters, and dieing is usually part of that. I think i did cry when i first read it as a child. Her acknowlaging Fireheart as more of a son to her than Brokenstar, and that having helped him grow to be a nobel cat, and mentoring Cinderpelt, are things that she can be proud of. And the fact that Fireheart saves Bramblekit over her, and the implications that has on their relationship going forward. And what it means Cinderpelt as well.... ahhh
I'm really excited for this one in the graphic novel, considering how much they've focused on Yellowfang and Fireheart.
Also Tigerstar being killed by Scourge. For completly different reasons. It's kinda one of the most interesting things the series has ever done plot wise. And the scean itself is so brutal and vivid in my mind.
Also Briarlight, though I dont think she should have been killed. Its just a heartbreaking scene.
Favorite journey:
🛤
I think the journey to bring all the Clans to the lake teritories. I like it when all the clans have to work together, and its the most extreme example of it. Traveling with such a large group also gives a lot of interesting dynamics and obsticals. An extention of that, probably one of my favorite parts of the new prophecy, is when Brambleclaw, Squirrelflight, Tawnypelt, Crowfeather and Mistyfoot go on a scouting party around the lake to find locations for each camp. I like how it shows what they take into consideration for where they want to live, and the discriptions of each territory. Also, i love ThunderClan's quarry camp and Squilf doesnt get enough credit for being the one to find it.
I havent read River yet, but Im very excited to read about Frostpaw and Nightheart's Excellent Adventure.
Character with the most wasted potential:
🌘
Every. Character. In. Warriors.
I have a lot of inturpritations of various characters (Brambleclaw, Spottedleaf, Nightheart) but i know they probably arent Really Canon, so they do count as wasted potential in my mind, but they arent exactly counter to canon so....
Needletail. Her death was impactful, and im glad she spent some time as an angry ghost instead of immediatly falling into StarClan Wisdom mode. But she was the one of the Unruly Children to almost have a coherent understanding of the problems in clan society. She thought Darktail was the answer, because he positioned himself that way and she was inexperienced and lonely. I wish she had survived because it could have been really interesting to see her trying to reckon with her ideals post-Darktail. Maybe have her be the one to acknowlage that all of that happened because of Onestar and his prejudeces. To know that she wasn't entirly incorrect in observing that the Clan's devotion to tradition causes a lot of problems.
In my fantasy world she'd even become deputy under Tawnystar and eventually leader... and Violetshine could become leader of SkyClan... and Tigerheart and Dovewing stay with the gaurdian cats idk. Or form a new clan somewhere else. Tigerheart being her deputy could be fine i guess. But i feel like she'd do something wild and pick dovewing instead lol. Having a leader with strong opitions that run counter to clan tradition while also being kinda prickly and sarcastic would be really fun I think. And just in general i wish she got to live. I like her.
Related, ive been on a 'Tawnypelt should have been Tawnystar and its robbery that she didn’t" kick recently.
Also kinda related, Tree. I wish he had more influence in the clans, and that he was even more of a hippie. I wish the mediator role would be adopted by all the clans.

been wanting to make another warriors blog for a while but i finally caved after writing up stuff about my new ocs and not knowing where to post it. im just copypasting this directly from an info dump i made so it's not extremely well organised LMAO but here are said OC ideas :]] im probably gonna spend quite a bit of time on this blog just building on them and drawing them tbh. that's the plan anyway
so imagine a cat becomes a medicine cat apprentice, and when they finally go to meet starclan at the moonpool instead of like.. awe, wonder, admiration etc. this idea of all powerful godly ancestors that can apparently predict fate and maybe even control it according to some cats, and watches them constantly.. fucking TERRIFIES this cat. like he is absolutely shitting his pants level afraid and he becomes gradually extremely paranoid about it all. he tries to keep doing the medicine cat stuff but eventually begs his leader to let him just become a warrior to try and get away from it as much as possible. and it helps but not.. a lot? hes still afraid and struggling.
it also turns out he's also had a pretty rough lot in life up til now, which doesnt help bc if these starclan cats control everything why has he suffered so much? what did he do to deserve it? bad things continues to happen and he questions it more and more. he feels like hes watched constantly and even like hes being punished for something he did, even though he doesnt know what his crime actually was. this makes things even worse.
at some point because of all this he runs off maybe? but he misses his family and clan and he also feels watched still no matter where he goes. and maybe something horrible happens to someone he cares for while hes gone and he blames himself for it because he left and thinks starclan decided to hurt his loved ones for it. so he becomes afraid to even leave the clans and doesnt attempt to run away again.
mind you, in the meantime starclan hasnt caused ANY of this. the things that happen are unfortunate coincidences. but he has no idea and after actually seeing what to clan cats basically counts as God Himself™️ hes a wreck. the books always show meeting starclan as a positive experience but i feel like it's something youd need at least some level of willpower for. youd need the right mindset. not just anyone can become a medicine cat and communicate with their ancestors. it's a big deal and some cats ,id think, just wouldnt be able to do it.
hes called whisperingstorm, he has a littermate called bubblingstream. his mother had other litters so he has many siblings but that's the one he knows best and grew up with. he also has an older brother maybe. dovesomething im thinking. bubbling has his own set of issues but im still figuring out how to make that work. another litter in his family is two more kits who are gonna have matching names, this serves to contrast bubbling and whispering who have conflicting names (they have rather different personalities but they also just. dont get along despite bubblings initial efforts to bond with whispering). bubbling as in excitable and upbeat, then when he grew up stream became his suffix bc hes actually rather.. not that basically. yknow how when ppl picture streams they see a calm, gentle stream that some would consider a relaxing visual? like that, as well as their family having a water/weather theme to their names. hes quiet and slow worded, not much to say. compare whispering, something quiet and soft, then when he got older his suffix became storm because of his explosive, high energy and honestly aggressive personality. so not only do they oppose each other in personality, their birth names themselves wouldve better suited them if theyd been swapped around as those are juxtapositions as well. whispering is loud and aggressive, bubbling is quiet and softspoken.
the reason whispering and bubbling dont get along is cause.. well, whispering is a prick, to be blunt. but hes like this as an active attempt to push people away bc of trust issues. he cares a lot about bubbling, he just also thinks anyone being close to him = him inflicting his 'bad luck'/'curse' (see: STARCLAN IS OUT TO GET ME) on others.
eventually it works and bubbling gives up trying to support his brother for his own sake because whispering goes anywhere from mildly mean to downright verbally abusive trying to get bubbling to go away and the guy cant really keep dealing with that. and whispering hates himself for it but he got what he aimed for so.. yeah.
not sure where im going next with this but i want. drama. but not murder. none of them are gonna be murdery. it's a very family issues and trauma and mental health kind of theme i want going on here. yeah someone will probably die bc that's just kinda a given in the clans but not from killing. i can enjoy warriors ocs that go and kill cats for one reason or another but between them and canon i want something different for once, and this is what i want to create to achieve that. plus running off somewhere and coming back to find out, say, a family member died of greencough or something? it's harder to pin a blame on anything material there. as opposed to a cat from a different clan outright killing them in battle or something.
this is where my blog url came from as you can all guess lol. that's all for now while i finalise things like the names of their other siblings, make solidified designs and come up with more stuff.

thank you @forgersfeline for asking for my warrior cat lore :) i logged off my backup tumblr to log onto my main tumblr on my laptop just to answer this.
OKAY SO. info under the read more!!!
Due to Circumstances (dead laptop) I don’t have all my old art, but THIS is my beloved baby leader, Duskstar
Tumblr media
Many many moons ago I was part of a Feral Heart roleplay called Divination. It was kind of a rekindle of 2 other roleplays created by the same person, the first of which was the first iteration of Duskstar. Because I was an edgy teen on her own for the first time, she was a small cat who was abused by her mentor before poisoning him in the very first roleplay. She went through two other mentors (in-game characters) who perished, not at her paws, before becoming the apprentice to the clan’s leader, whom she eventually saw as a father figure. Her closest friend was a warrior, and his brother was also a friend of hers though they argued a lot. First RP iteration died, was reborn, the second died, and then there was Divination. Dusk went through a bit of hell in Divination :) She helped train two other apprentices, watched her father figure die saving her from his biological son, got attacked by a different clan and severely scarred (face scar), became deputy at a young age due to lack of available warriors (ie players), became leader not long after bc the leader got sick and stepped down? (player had to step away), she ended up training like three other apprentices at one time, I think she killed another cat... baby girl went through a lot and when Divination died I loved her too much to let her go ♥
Duskstar is very young, very small, but very determined and a little bloodthirsty in defense of her clan. She has gotten her claws dirty from a young age and is willing to do anything to get her clan back to the power it once had.
Then there is my beloved bastard, Snagglefang
Tumblr media
Another Feral Heart original, Snagglefang never really got into any active RPs. He became more active once I moved back to deviantART, however I won’t go into details of the rp that made him active because the people that ran it were, to put it lightly, massive pieces of shit. That’s a story in its own that has me, sitting here, pissed off and ready to fight. ANYWAY. Snaggle is like the precursor to Khan. He’s big, he’s scarred, he’s pissed off. Again, his original history was that his mentor abused him bc I was an edgy teen. He was neglected by his father because his birth caused his mother’s death. He’s big, aggressive, and loves to fight.
He is Dusk’s temporary deputy, one of her closest confidants, and her crush (though he doesn’t know it and she pretends it doesnt exist). He’s very happy to be a tank, and enforcer, and to not have to think too deeply or hard on things. Not that he’s stupid, though he’s not quite as clever as Dusk, but he likes simplicity after everything.
They are essentially what kicked off my personal lore due to a (now deleted :C ) youtube video that was an enemies-to-lovers playlist. I was listening to it and was like, wow, this would really fit dusk and snaggle if they were in the same clan and...
lol. oops.
SO.
There’s honestly so much I haven’t done bc my laptop died, BUT
Due to circumstances, they are re-founding their old clan and calling it DawnClan. Duskstar is barely two years old, just a little older than Snagglefang (she’s renamed him Blacklion for reasons), and while she still feels unprepared to be leader she is fumbling through it as best she can.
Their region believes in the Three Beyond rather than StarClan. There is the Above Beyond, where those who did notably good deeds end up. There is the Between Beyond, where the majority of cats who lived average lives end up. And then there is the Below Beyond, where the assholes, murderers, etc of the clans end up. You can have killed someone and still end up in the Between if it was an accident, in battle, etc. It allows for more nuanced judging, and the ghosts of cats can move between the Beyonds. All three are known and referenced (one might say “Above bless you” when they’re giving thanks, or “i just want to go Between” when they’re tired, and “Below take you!” when they’re absolutely livid) by all clans.
There are at least two other clans who are not yet named, but who have been encroaching into DawnClan territory. DawnClan suffered from poor leadership as well as a severe epidemic that cut their clan numbers into less than half. Because they failed to be able to properly patrol their territory, attending gatherings, and hunt due to lack of warriors, the other clans began encroaching into DawnClan territory. Since the clan has began recovering health, Duskstar is now pushing those boundaries back and has said they will recover their territory at any means necessary.
Dusk has acknowledged to her clan that due to their low numbers, outsiders are currently allowed to join. Her own former apprentice, now warrior, and another close confidant is a cat that Dusk herself found half-starved as the sickness began leaving the clan. Said cat is called Amberwolf and started her life out as a pedigree housecat. Snaggle/Black’s crush is another former-loner named Lilyfrost, who came from a clan far far away. He suffered severe burns and brought along his very young kit, whom he named Lionkit after Blacklion. Black thinks Lily is beautiful (and he is) and Dusk lowkey hates Lily for taking Black’s attention off of her, she’s never had to deal with jealousy and is still young and handling things poorly.
Battles are frequent due to the border issue, however after the sickness left the camp Duskstar relocated the clan. Their new camp has yet to be discovered and therefore can’t be ambushed or attacked, and she keeps a small patrol around the old camp so that if it gets attacked, they can defend it while sending a runner to the new camp to let them know of the attack.
Though Dusk is small, their clan numbers are small, and clan tensions have always been high and tenuous, Duskstar holds herself with as much pride and leadership as she can muster during gatherings. She holds her tongue, bides her time, and subtly threatens the other leaders just as they do her. It’s quickly becoming recognized that although her clan and territory may be small and weak, they are discovering ways to reinforce what strength they have and fight back.

Houndgaze - long furred black tom with grey undercoat
Family: Shadepool (mother, deceased) Sharpclaw (brother), Wolfmoon (brother) Gender / Sexuality: tom / bisexual Personality: very serious, doesnt get jokes at first, defensive Backstory: Oldest of Shadepools one and only litter, she fell sick in the last quarter moon of her pregnancy, and was weak when having her three kits.  She died shortly after giving each one of them names, leaving them with no kin to care for them. Of course young queen Darkbramble nursed the kits, but Houndgaze never accepted her as a parent. He was very protective over his siblings, often trying to join their training as an apprentice to keep an eye on them. Even then, he was a strong skilled young tom, so the mentors didnt mind if he joined instead of doing other things with his mentor.  Now as a warrior, he’s still fiercely protective of his only kin in camp. Houndgaze protects the warrior code with the same ferocity. Often intimidating to other clan cats, his own clan knows that he means well, and he’s a good warrior. Always willing to step up, and go above and beyond. To another clan cat, he could def give off Hawkfrost vibes. Ideal Partner: the super soft sweet warrior that he can also protect, best friend of a sibling, maybe another strong warrior who he can just let go and hang out with Position | Clan: Warrior | Smokeclan
Sharpclaw - long furred grey and black tom
Family: Shadepool (mother, deceased), Houndgaze (brother), Wolfmoon (brother) Gender / Sexuality: tom / questioning Personality: little bit of a loud mouth, cant keep comments to himself,  snarky but hes usually talking shit about things other cats are already thinking, excitable Backstory: Middle kit of the litter, Sharpclaw didnt struggle with his hunting or fighting skills as an apprentice, like his older brother he picked it up quite easily. What he did get in trouble for was talking back to his mentor, and not really learning from punishments. Being sent to care for the elders only made him bond with the elite elder warriors.  Now as a warrior, Sharpclaw is known for speaking his mind at all times. Honest to his core, Sharpclaw doesn’t understand the need to lie. He’s always happy to tack on to a hunting party or patrol, Sharpclaw is always ready to go. Ideal Partner: the sweetheart cat who thinks hes endearing, the big strong warrior who backs Sharpclaw and is the only reason he hasn’tt gotten bitchslapped Position | Clan: Warrior | Smokeclan
Wolfmoon - long furred grey tom with black fur on back
Family: Shadepool (mother, deceased), Houndgaze (brother), Sharpclaw (brother) Gender / Sexuality: Tom / demisexual Personality: seems lost in thought a lot, questions himself a lot even though he knows what hes doing, looking for validation Backstory: Youngest of his litter, Wolfmoon was the only one who was sick when he was a kit. He spent a lot of time with the medicine cat apprentice Moondance, and when the medicine cat died, then apprentice Wolfpaw spent even more time with the now medicine cat Moondance. After being made a warrior, a vision came to the clan, telling them Wolftail was to train in the medicine cat den. Transitioning departments, Wolftail was happy as a clan with the petty Moondance. Many thought the she-cat faked the sign so she could have her mate in her den. When Moondance’s life was taken by a fox, Wolftail was horrified to be in the medicine cat den alone. He went to the crystal caves the next full moon, with the other medicine cats, and it was on his return he introduced himself to Smokeclan as their medicine cat Wolfmoon.  Now feeling alone, despite having both his siblings within paws reach, Wolfmoon throws himself into his work. Maybe a bit of a helicopter medicine cat, checking up on any cough or limp, Wolfmoon just wants to do a good job to earn his place in Starclan with his lost love.  Ideal Partner: the warrior who had a crush on him when he was a warrior, a nervous queen about having kits without a father leaning on him for support and hes happy to have the distraction Position | Clan: Medicine Cat | Smokeclan

hmm i think i should talk about my boy goosefeather more and luckily i have an entire blog called goosefeather so this is the perfect opportunity but uhhh
tbh i dont really ship goosefeather with anyone But i think him and hawkheart are like awkward, bitter exes because of the whole “message from starclan to destroy our herb supplies” vs “you literally killed my sister thing”
like i think pre-That they were like two dumb, young toms in love. cuz like they have Big Grumpy Gay energy and would naturally gravitate toward each other (also like Fuck what canon says hawkheart was a warrior-turned-medcat i believe this with my whole heart) and bonded over how starclan rules over their lives for better and for worse
so then like all That happens and y’know they talk about it. goosefeather tells hawkheart that he killed his sister and hawkheart tries to defend himself. he’s like “i had to... she was going to destroy all my herbs” and there’s this like pause as the stars slowly move around them (this is also on the moor btw.... for ambience)
then goosefeather responds with, reluctantly “starclan sent me an omen that windclan would destroy us... i told them to go after your den specifically”
and he doesnt explain more than that. hawkheart doesnt know the Full Extent of goose’s relationship/powers with starclan but he knows enough from the small hints (because goose would Never reveal more than he had to) but hawk knows enough and he’s like “did you have to listen to them?”
because to him, their relationship is outside of starclan’s boundaries. it’s outside medcat boundaries. they are just Two Guys in Love and hawk though that meant something more than just the omens their dead ancestors send whenever they feel like it
but to goosefeather this is his Life in every way it could possibly be. he knows he can’t change what happens. if starclan’s message (or what he perceives to be that message but that’s a whole other can of worms ill talk about another day) is that he Has to destroy another clan’s medicinal herbs than like fuck he has no choice. he has to make it happen
so he doesn’t respond to the question. he just walks off and him and hawkheart break up. and its Awkward at half-moon gatherings for a long time. but then hawkheart and goosefeather get apprentices and those apprentices get along well enough and goose retires and like... nothing changes from a medcat or even clan perspective but it’s different for them
and idk that’s the extent of goosefeather’s romantic life. he is a tragedy that can never get away from the horrible fate starclan forced upon him and that affects every aspect of his life including his relationships and i love him for it thanks for coming to my ted talk

river preview thoughts:
-ok so the mysterious forbidden love cats in the prologue, based on the descriptions, are probably fringewhisker and spireclaw. interesting to see spireclaw get a bit more relevance since i always thought his name was cool
-flamepaw starting off with his warriors assesment being very soon? i predict another bristlefrost situation where they spend like 5 minutes as an apprentice in book one lol
-"it's not like starclan is infallible" yessss ivypool queen!!!
-flamepaw disliking the way leadership is handled, pointing out that his name is unfitting, having Bloodline Angst, and being kind of a bitter and rude emo kid from what i can tell? i like him already. his feeling distant from his mother Intrigues me also.
-lilyheart <3 thats all. i just like her
-"i know i have. and i know i deserved to." noooo bby.... giving him a little kissy on his kitty cat forehead
-FROSTPAW TIME!!! i just know the whole "we always knew you were going to be special :)" thing is gonna backfire on her like it did with dovewing and shadowsight...
-hmm the jayclaw dream she had that her mother is insisting was proof of starclan choosing her is a little sus. it just doesnt seem Divine Prophecy™ enough. maybe im reading into it but its an interesting possibility that perhaps her mom is shoving her into being a medicine cat. curlfeather seems just a tiny bit overbearing but again it could be unintentional. i do like how differently frostpaw and flamepaw interact with their respective mothers, its neat.
-mistystar looking thin and frail lets goooooo. please let this old lady rest
-"shadowsight is seriously weird" thats MY scrunkly <3
-"she had always imagined training as a warrior with her littermates" Oh Interesting. i wonder if my curlfeather theorizing is right then.
-"he doesn't look weird to me, but he has a lot of scars for a medicine cat" 😭😭😭 thats... my scrunkly....
-ohhh shit frostpaw being closer with willowshine than mothwing... very very intriguing. i miss willowshine, rip
-whistlepaw and frostpaw friendship?? i do hope so :) their short interaction here was cute
-sunbeam and blazefire are TOTALLY GOING OUT??? oh no theyre cute...
-OH I DIDNT EVEN NOTICE IN THE ALLEGIENCES THERE ARE NEW DOVETIGER KITS ???
-"oh youre such a rebel." "what a perfect little shadowclan warrior you are!" i cant believe im already invested in these two and their banter its... surprisingly cute for a series that struggles very hard with writing good romance lol. sunbeam not really getting whether its serious or more lighthearted teasing is also pretty endearing (and realistic, ive been there), i like her already
-lightleap!!! not much to say i just like her. actually scratch that i do have something to say, i think her grappling with the guilt over her own cowardice in alitm via exaggerated bravado is a neat direction to take her character and i like that she seems kind of... flawed? like throwing sunbeam under the bus after she fell on her. its interesting
-yeowch a dislocated shoulder? ow. also shadowsight being willing to call lightleap on her bullshit while also clearly caring for her a lot is very good.
...overall a very good preview, im excited to see more about the lives of the protagonists. it's hard to pick a favorite theyre all so neat!!! hyped for river for sure.

Reading The Fourth Apprentice rn and. I will not stand for this Squirrelflight and Leafpool slander 😭
Lionblaze thinking “they deserved it!” When Firestar expressed sympathy for them and said their lives were ruined and now Jayfeather’s angrily like “maybe things would’ve been better if Squirrelflight never came back” when he saw Leafpool’s memory of when she saw Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight off when they went on the journey to see Midnight. Like y’all I get it, you were lied to but like 😭😭😭 SQUIRRELFLIGHT WAS FORCED INTO IT, YOUR LOVELY LITTLE STARCLAN PRESSURED HER INTO IT TO THE POINT OF LYING TO HER JUST SO SHE’D TAKE YALL IN WHEN SHE REALLY DIDNT WANT TO Hhhnngg I know they don’t know that, I know they don’t know how it happened but it hurts to read smh 😔 and the “I was lied to” angst made a lot more sense with Hollyleaf cuz the warrior code was so important to her and she built her life around it. Like that’s great, I love Hollyleaf and I like that it actually made sense with her. But with Lionblaze and Jayfeather they’re just holding grudges cuz it’s just the “I’m adopted and I feel personally attacked because of it” trope that I’m so tired of cuz “real” parents aren’t always biological and I know, yeah, Squirrelflight and Leafpool kept secrets but you know what Jayfeather and Lionblaze are doing rn? Keeping secrets. JAYFEATHER WAS EVEN LIKE “get used to it” TO DOVEPAW WHEN SHE DESPERATELY EXPRESSED THAT SHE DOESNT WANT TO LIE TO HER CLANMATES ITS SO INCONSISTENT LIKE “oh lying is horrible and I hate those two for it but it’s different when I do it” LIKE BITCH- I guess it’s different cuz you’re part of a prophecy but like. Did it never occur to you that maybe. Just maybe. Your lives wasn’t the result of a mistake cuz you’re prophesy cats? Not saying they’re only worth being alive cuz prophecy, but I think that’s how he’d actually see it. Anyway. Did it never occur to you that perhaps StarClan has no problem with y’all being alive? Had actually lmao, let’s not forget that dumbass trial that happened in Squirrelflight’s Hope. I guess they had no problem with it until the prophecy cats were no longer useful 🤷🏻. Anyway, you can’t even bring up the argument that Jayfeather could be stressed about the prophecy cuz HE FLOURISHES IN IT, HE EVEN SNAPPED AT DOVEPAW FOR BEING RIGHTFULLY CONCERNED ABOUT BEING A PROPHECY CAT, HE WAS LIKE “HOW COULD YOU NOT LIKE BEING MORE POWERFUL THAN EVERYONE YOU KNOW”, JUST… the “I’m adopted” angst just isn’t consistent with Jayfeather lol. Maybe with Lionblaze cuz he doesn’t like his weird adrenaline powers and also he has anger issues anyway (speaking as someone who has at least minor anger issues) so a grudge still makes sense with him I guess. I mean, he held a grudge against Heathertail for. Really long lmao. Also, to get more off topic, Jayfeather’s obsession with the prophesy is so fucking funny, he was worried for Lionblaze and Hollyleaf when they were on the mission to look for Sol but like. It’s almost like he only cares cuz they’re part of a prophecy and now the same’s happening here with Lionblaze and Dovepaw when he knows they’re on the mission to see the beavers 😭 cuz he saw that memory of Leafpool’s and was like “I know what you’re trying to tell me, you’re saying you understand my worry but you don’t. Cuz you and Squirrelflight aren’t part of a prophecy” LIKE BRUH, HE’S BASICALLY SAYING HE ONLY CARES FOR THEIR WELL-BEING CUZ THEY’RE PROPHECY CATS AND NOT. IDK. ACTUALLY CARING ABOUT THEM??? LIKE HOW LEAFPOOL CARES ABOUT SQUIRRELFLIGHT??? THIS IS SO FUCKING FUNNY 😭 I love Jayfeather but SMHHHHHHHHHH
Uhhhh TLDR: The Squirrelflight and Leafpool slander hurts me emotionally and deeply smh. And the “we’re adopted” angst only makes sense with Hollyleaf and maybe Lionblaze, but mostly Hollyleaf cuz she built her life around the warrior code. But it really doesn’t work with Jayfeather cuz, no matter how I look at it, it’s just inconsistent with his character imo.
Edit: Ok. Jayfeather thinks if they’ve been truthful, they’d help with the prophecy. And there it is again. His opinions on others is completely based on this prophecy so this continues to be funny. He’s basically like “you’re useful to the prophecy? I like you. You’re not useful to the prophecy? Ew, get away from me.” But still. Hollyleaf was still the best out of the three when it comes to the adopted thing imo. Cuz to her, it was more than that, it was the fact that she’s a medicine cat’s kit and halfclan. And like I said, she built her life around the warrior code, so her feeling betrayed was more interesting in my opinion. I love Hollyleaf. I know I said that I love Squirrelflight and Leafpool and that I wouldn’t stand for the slander and Hollyleaf hated them, she even fantasized ripping Leafpool to shreds. But I just feel her character and her behavior after learning the secret is so interesting imo. I felt bad for her, not cuz I thought her being adopted was so terrible, but because everything she believed in was turned upside down, not just who she thought were her blood relatives, and sent her on a downward spiral. I love her. With Jayfeather it’s just “but prophecy tho” and with Lionblaze it’s just “I got anger issues”. I can’t help but enjoy Jayfeather tho smh. /lh

imagining amnesiac!hollyleaf being taken to the moonpool and just feeling an overwhelming sense of dread.
She knows she did something wrong, something the clan is keeping from her but judging her for. She remembers Firestar's words when her condition was revealed. "Hollyleaf has suffered a terrible loss, this is punishment enough."
She doesnt like when they call her hollyleaf. they act like shes supposed to say certain things and get upset when she doesnt understand what they mean. they get upset when she hides from the birds when they start to circle overhead, saying shes worked with them her whole life, why is she scared of them now?
She doesnt understand what they want from her.
And now she's in front of this pool that supposedly solves the clans problems. its like theyre saying she's a problem, one that needs to be fixed. it doesnt make any sense, she thought they were angry at Hollyleaf, that they were upset with whoever she used to be
She thought shed been helpful. trying to repent for somethign she couldnt remember doing among cats who didnt see her for her, but a vision from the past.
Jayfeather, one of Hollyleaf's brothers, gently indicates for her to touch her nose to the pool.
the dread pools in her stomach.
Yeah, I could definitely see them seeing it as a spiritual problem. She was cut away from the stars, hit her head, and had done a great sin, I could see cats believing this to be a punishment or a result of spiritual poisoning from being cut off and thus, believe if they do not begin to recover on their own when the wound is tended they should speak to starclan about regaining the connection and what is required.
This is of course, not how one really should deal with this issue, but with their current knowledge of healing and spirituality? It's the most likely conclusion I can see cat's coming to. I doubt Starclan could actually do much beyond speak with them and maybe show them memories at best, but I could absolutely see the cats associating psychological issues more with spirituality due to their lack of information on the brain beyond "thing that keeps you alive" and a few sparse other things they may have learned.

This is going to be a post about Cinderpelt.
I feel a lot for her. She is like, the most endearing background character in the series and I honestly don’t think the Erins even intended that. Even despite her hardships, she’s never as mentioned in Thunderclan/the clans in general after she dies. Sure, Leafpool is sad and thinks about her constantly, but that was mostly written as foreshadowing for Cinderheart. Of course, when she dies, Littlecloud is described as becoming sad. But after that, we get nothing. So let’s talk about her for a while, yeah? Cinderpelt, alongside her brother, gets kidnapped by a shadowclan cat. She is saved by the former MC of said clan, and her future mentor. She is a happy little thing, always willing to help and eager to prove herself. This eagerness and willingness prove to almost be her doom. She becomes depressed, finds happiness when she is once again saved (in a metaphorical and literal sense) by the grumpy Medicine cat that had once been Shadowclan.
She is happy. Then her former mentor (and currently a good friend) runs to her asking for help. A queen is having trouble during birth, she is Riverclan please dont freak out, so she goes and helps. Its her duty. Then the queen dies, under Cinderpaw’s watch, and she’s so heartbroken about it and so apologetic. But you saved the kits, her friend insists, but thats not enough, is it. Her brother’s mentor is now heartbroken, devastated, and because she couldn’t save a cat her friend, her former mentor, will lose his best friend. Because she couldn’t save her, and he chooses his kits over his clan, and Cinderpaw understands. He will be a great father you can tell, and she is so, so sorry.  Then a fire happens. Cinderpaw evacuates with the clan, saves as any herbs as she can, and when she sees orange pelt among orange flames with a kitten in his jaws, and she cannot see her mentor, she understands, too. She understands when Fireheart catches Yellowfang’s last breath, and she understands when she hears what Yellowfang tells him. It doesn’t hurt, but Cinderpelt is jealous that she wasn’t the one who spoke to her last, and shes disappointed in herself because maybe if she had been faster she could’ve saved her mentor just as she had saved her twice before. Cinderpaw finishes her training on her own, and when she becomes Cinderpelt, her heart aches with the knowledge that her leader does not trust her despite the fact they both had been wronged and hurt by the same horrible cat. She never lets the image of the clans be tainted in her mind, and she hides and helps two cats from Shadowclan who anyone else would have left for dead. She saves them, finds the cure to their sickness- isnt that just wonderful? Making up for the fact she let her mentor and a queen die by saving a whole clan? In the end, Cinderpelt doesn’t ask for a payment, she lets those apprentices be as they are. She never even asks for credit, but Shadowclan knows who their savior is and cherish her like their own, though their pride would never allow it. Her act inspired Littlepaw, and he becomes a MC apprentice. He looks up to her.
When the forest is crumbling all around her and she knows they must go when the travellers return, its her who has to convince Firestar to leave the territory behind. She knows, no- she understands- that he is waiting for his best friend, his companion to everything, to return. Though in her heart she knows Graystripe to be well, it is hard to convince others otherwise. But its for the good of the clans, this isnt just about Firestar. This is about survival of their ways, survival of the young. Shrewpaw had already died before his time, please dont let that happen to any other cat. The journey is long but she bonds with the other medicine cats and warriors like she never had before, and she finds to be in peace. It’s a relief when Leafpaw finds the Moonpool and everyone can finally settle, but it is sad that they will have to part.
It takes a few moons, but she receives it- not a prophecy, but a promise. She will die, Starclan has told her she will. They refuse to say when, or how, but they know she will and they want her to know it. For what? Because they were the ones who set her path so she would be a medicine cat? Why did they have to cause her suffering? Why do they have to mingle with those who still live? Cinderpelt has never felt so angry and so alone, and yet all she finds within herself is to lower her head and accept it. Yellowfang is among those who tell her, and she sees no sorrow in her eyes or even a hint of sympathy.
Cinderpelt wants to hate her, but she understands. She understands this is beyond her mentor, that this is something Yellowfang had to endure.
She tries to make it count, she really does. But then she breaks at Leafpool and hate Spottedleaf more than she ever had before when her apprentice is gone, gone and she can’t even begin to look or ask for guidance because as far as she knows Starclan is just waiting for her inevitable death. If they warned her- maybe it was because they knew Leafpool would not come back. So Cinderpelt spends time with good Firestar, her mentor once upon a time, her rescuer in her dreams, the flame which saved the forest, her best friend. But even good old Firestar has his moments, and his worry for his daughter leaves her with no time to tell him how much he means to her, and how much he helped her. She spends time with her brother, with her sister- and Brackenfur is excited enough for his kits that he talks to her endlessly for hours, and the only thing Cinderpelt thinks is how she will miss his laughter, and will he miss her too? The medicine cat doesnt eat unless forced, her worry for her apprentice and the possible future lack of a medicine cat for thunderclan sickens her by the day.
She starts to think this is how shes supposed to go until- well, until badgers storm into their camp and try to claim everyone as their victim, until theres too many badgers for so few cats, until there’s a badger with so much hate in its eyes she could suffocate. She believes her fate is to die from sickness until a badger stands by her and desperately tries to claim the queen and her kits. When the blow to the neck finally comes and she can’t carry her weight anymore, she thinks about how much it hurts. When she hears and scents and feels Leafpool, her whole body hurts so much. Cinderpelt says words she is not sure she still believes in, and she is so so happy that she can see Leafpool one last time.
When she goes, and is offered a body, she feels guilty. She feels this is wrong. She watches her brother mourn, she watches leafpool mourn, and she watches Firestar as he carries on. Did he mourn her? Did Sandstorm mourn, too? Cinderpelt is not sure she knows the answer anymore. All she knows is to control a life that is not her own, until she feels so guilty about it that she lets go. Then its like she was never relevant before.

in that frecklewish article they also said something like "did ashfur really belong in starclan? some might argue it was starclan's mistake, but we all agree that frecklewish belonged in dark forest for (reasons that are either lies or just don't make sense)" in the end and that's fucked up in so many levels.
ok so frecklewish wasnt a saint but she didn’t deserve to go to the dark forest. unlike ashfur, her character could easily get redemption. literally none of the things she did was sinful enough in the sense of warriors to force her into the dark forest. plus, there are like so many cats in starclan atm who’ve done way worse than her.
ashfur entering starclan was purely writers choice and literally anyone could tell. starclan is messy but im not even going to entirely blame the way they function. because on the surface i think they work well, its just the erins don’t really have common sense when it comes to who belongs and who doesnt.
i feel like if the erins just want to add characters to hell or whatever for plot reasons then they should just say it instead of making excuses or forcing fans to figure it out themselves because they cant.
i think the worst part about this is that frecklewish was extremely loyal to her clan whilst living. obviously her loyalty kind of fucked with her judgement and emotions towards mapleshade and her kits. ofc shes going to believe her actions are justified because of her dedication and these beliefs put onto her.
what i mean is, loyalty and whatnot is a literal rule made up by those in starclan. with her beliefs, of course she’ll follow it even if it makes her do morally bad things. we have encountered cats who pick their own better judgement over the code, but of course not all cats will do it. there are going to be cats fearful to make their own decisions because they desperately want to be good and go to starclan. so, its extremely fucked that this warrior whos loyal to her clan and the code is rejected by those she believed in because she did what they wanted her to do. what her clan literally wanted. any hatred she has toward them would be valid at this point.
like so what if she didnt save these kits. like its bad that they died but literally mapleshade was a dumbass the entirety of the book lol that was on her. but freckle taking the blame just. dont sit right with me because she could’ve been scared or panicked, plus we know she doesnt know how to fucking swim.
i dont believe its right to say anyone being unprepared should risk their life for others. its good to do good but ppl have a limit and there are moments where you literally cant. she couldnt have done all of tht and starclan and the erins shouldve been considerate. in any scenario anyone wouldlve died get over it

i wish i could make my own tv cartoon show right now in my exact vision and interpretation, cause i feel like several things ive watched or read recently have like started cool and i got hooked on them bc my perception of where the story/concept and especially the world setting was like "wow i like this i hope it continues the way i think it will :)" and then the next installment comes out and it doesnt do that and im like well ok i am a little disappointed but i still enjoy this installment a lot and would like to see it continue but i cant help but wonder how it would look the way i thought it would. like these examples arent like series-ruining to me i just wanted smth different from them and their result felt a little... samey or predictable to me. long rant under the cut about multiple things sorry they all fit this problem to me so i will put them together also i like to talk
like a small example, the new warrior cats arc (spoilers for it) when they first went to the dark forest and it looked abandoned i was like oh thats neat how they kept the fact all or most of the dark forest cats died/faded in the big war, i really like this abandoned dark forest setting bc it opens the concept for a horror setting not based specifically around the df cats' manipulation of the living cats but rather the mystery of what its become now and how the imposter somehow used it to trap StarClan. but then the df cats are still there anyways so i was like awww my theory...
then theres the owl house season 2, which i think was good btw, its just when i watched season 1 i thought it was gonna be like a dark comedy kids show, like flapjack or whatever, and i was like cool not a lot of modern cartoons are doing that, i like the hostile setting its neat and funny. but then season 2 made it a little more... cutesy-er? i like that the characters are friends, its just the way they did it is not exactly what i wanted to watch it for. also esp king's character bc i liked him more as how i thought he was in s1, an immature adult who looks and is treated like a silly little kid for jokes but he like knows what taxes are, i dont really like how hesactually a little kid now its not as funny to me
and deltarune chapter 2 has kind of the same problem to me but not exactly bc i genuinely do like the way kris' friendship with susie and noelle is handled particularly, as well as the series being more friendship-oriented since the beginning. rather its just i preferred the way it was done in chapter 1 over the changes, like design-wise for ralsei and susie as i've said before, as well as me preferring specifically susie's personality and speech in chapter 1 over 2. they also feel like they talk less in chapter 1 but are still well-defined, but characters seem to talk a LOT in chapter 2 and i dont feel that charm exactly the same way? but that one might just be a personal feeling honestly.

LONG POST
Im realizing. Starclan is basically like the TVA (From the Loki series )
Like they know whats going to happen in the future so they make sure the cats stay on that path, no matter what it is. Even if the cats themselves dont want to.
Like Yellowfang wanted to be a warrior but they wanted her as a medicine cat so they gave her that shitty curse where she feels cats pain but then she had kits and they punished her for straying from the path they set.
And Tigerstar 1. They saw what he was gonna be and they couldve sent a message couldve done ANYTHING to prevent him from becoming what he did but they let it happen and even gave that mf 9 lives! Maybe cuz they knew he would lose them all eventually but still why let him get all that power?? Why let him recreate Tigerclan..or whatever I haven't read the first series in years bear with me--
And with Leafpool and Squirrelflight. These sisters were put THROUGH IT, especially Squirrelflight. They saw what they would go through. How the three would react and they still let it happen. They lied to Squirrelflight and said she couldnt have kits just to persuade her to take them.
Then!! They fucking let Ashfur into Starclan when he worked with Hawkfrost to try and kill Firestar, then he tried to kill three cats all because Squirrelflight didnt like him. And they let him in!! They shouldve knooown he wouldnt just forget.
Also that stupid fucking Trail they had out of no where?? That ONLY occured with Squirrelflight and Leafpool?? Bullshit.
Starclan is the real enemy. The first people that got there are clearly so damn EVIL and annoying. Theyre pulling strings and if cats dont go down the path set they send shitty curses and prophecys.
And another thing the warrior code needs to be changed! Its only there for cats in the past! Just cuz Moth Flight couldnt handle kits and being a medicine cat it doesnt mean other cats couldnt. Also half clan shit is so dumb cuz it keeps happening so might as well ignore that!
Erins the next series should end with the warrior code being changed and Starclan getting purged.
No one needs them anymore. Theyre not even helpful in any relevant way.
