Note
How would Dream and Tina friendship form? 🥺🥺🥺
after the short comic where you see them meet for the first time, Tina would invite Dream to her place. the friendship formed over Dream being absolutely Enamored with her cats, and since the cats loved him too and he was ridiculously nice to them, Tina was more willing to welcome him in and talk to him more. it started with Dream visiting to spend time with the kitties but ended up befriending Tina in the process. and, since they had no shared past and she didn't get to live through his "reign of terror", it was actually easy to see him for the goofy idiot cat lover that he was around her than all the horrible things he's done. she ended up providing him some comfort when things got especially bad with George

would you kiss me in a crowded room?
Eddie Munson x Reader
Summary: There was always a push and pull with Eddie. He'll kiss you in an abandoned corner of the library and then barely talk to you in the cafeteria, but will look like a kicked puppy if you so much as think about giving him a cold shoulder. You care for him, deeply, but sometimes, he confuses the shit out of you.
A/N: Let me say already that this is by no means my best work. It's just something I randomly wrote while bored, with a bit of Halloween spirit. Definitely not very proofread.

The burn of vodka was unpleasant down your throat, still, you kept on drinking, tilting the red solo cup until the last drops of your drink were gone.
You didn't know whose house this was, honestly you didn't care. Halloween was one of your favorite holidays, and when a friend finds you a party to go to, you don't ask many questions. As a last-minute call, you snatched a long, black cloak and a witch's hat from your closet, pairing it with a dark dress you hadn't used in a few good years and a pair of boots so you had a costume.
The music was loud in your ears, you could feel the drums of it on your chest; the lights were dimmed inside, making it hard for you to avoid stepping on the many discarded cups that littered the floor whilst you danced. Tina held onto one of your hands, moving wildly around and taking you with her. She smelled of alcohol, you did too probably, but you knew for a fact that she drank twice as more as you did.
"You're making me dizzy," you giggled, holding onto her shoulder with your free hand.
"Come on, I feel like I'm dancing with a mummy, you're too stiff," the girl jumped on the spot as if to emphasize her point, the cat ears she had on her head bounced with the movement.
"You're the one that's too loose," you said, but followed her lead nonetheless.
You had long since lost count of how many hours had passed since you arrived when the house started to feel way too cramped. You desperately needed fresh air.
The backyard was huge, shiny pumpkins adorned the stone path that lead you to the pool and lounge chairs, there was a patch of grass with a few trees further back, fake spider webs and makeshift ghosts were hung up on the branches; it felt like a different world compared to the raging party inside. Just a few people stood outside, mostly ones that were too far gone on drinks, and, to your surprise, one Eddie Munson sulking in one of the lounge chairs, beneath the starry sky.
The leather of his jacket was shining with the few lights that surrounded the pool, he wasn't looking at you and you took that as an opportunity to look at him. His eyes were dark all around, eyeliner painting the lids, and he had fake blood down the corner of his lips and to his neck, all giving his skin a paler tone.
You smirked, the chilly wind made your cloak flutter around you, walking up to Eddie with one boot in front of the other, "vampire Eddie," his eyes shot quickly to you, a smile of his own already forming and only increasing yours, "I like it. Suits you."
Eddie leaned back on his palms, his eyes nothing but black orbs in the night as he looked you up and down. "A witch," he began, and you couldn't help but feel heat creeping up your neck because of his attention.
He got up, extending a hand to you and wiggling his fingers until you took it, only for him to turn you around so he could see you from all angles, "always knew you were magical, sweetheart."
Eddie's voice was all warm and sultry, sending a pleasant shiver down your back. You ducked your head, your hand still gently held up by his, "you flatter me, Munson."
"Nothing but the truth passes through these lips," as if there was a gravity field around you, Eddie lowered your hands only to intertwine his fingers with yours. He smiled something shy, a timid tilt of lips as the only telling against the confidence in his tone. "I wasn't expecting to see you here," he said, his free hand tugging on the edge of your cloak as if you'd slip away.
Maybe he knew you better than you gave him credit for. "Roll for perception?" You raised an eyebrow at him, letting go and stepping away to walk along the pool's edge.
You heard him groan, and then the quick steps that followed before his shoulder bumped yours as he fell into step with you. Personal space was not in Eddie's dictionary when it came to you, not that you minded.
"Come on, I was going to call, but I came for just a few sales, last minute thing," his curls bounced with his steps, lower lip caught between his teeth and eyebrows up as he looked at you through his lashes. Eddie was nervous. "Humour me," he tried.
"Like you wouldn't roll a natural twenty," you muttered under your breath, gazing at your reflection in the pool's water.
Eddie's fingertips grazed the top of your ear as he pushed back strands of hair. Only to see you better, he told himself. "You know I would," he kept his voice just as quiet, the music coming from inside the house almost clouded it.
Your eyes closed for a brief moment just so you could turn to him, just so you could take a breath and will your heart to calm down. "I came with a few friends," you shrugged, trying to placate him, "and they're probably wondering where I am, so…"
"Do you wanna come back with me?" Eddie blurted out before you could leave. "We can smoke or, I could play something for you, or- or just be together?"
The small smile you gave him then held no happiness at all. You grasped the collar of his jacket in one hand to hold him in place, just long enough so you could peck his lips. A kiss that could barely be called a kiss, it wasn't the first and wouldn't be the last. "See you around, Eddie." You squeezed his hand before you turned to leave in lieu of saying; I'm not mad, but two can play this game.
Eddie didn't fight it when you walked back into the house, but he should have. His lips still tingled with the ghost of your touch as he gripped at his hair, mumbling countless curses under his breath. He considered throwing himself into the pool, if anything, the coldness of the water would numb everything else he was feeling.
You played some bear pong, gave Tina a peck on the lips in a game of spin the bottle, and danced some more, anything to keep your mind busy. But it didn't take long for you to find Eddie again, he was leaning back on the kitchen counter, red cup in hand, and looking for something in the crowd.
The burn of vodka was unpleasant, but it gave you a dash of confidence you wouldn't dream of while sober. Granted, the colorful lights did little to kill the darkness of the house, and most people were already beyond remembering anything tomorrow morning.
So it was easy to mold your way amongst the bodies, to walk the rest of the way to the kitchen and to him, before you could think better of it.
Nonchalant as ever, you stopped beside Eddie without looking at him, picking up a skull-shaped candy and throwing it in your mouth.
You could feel him shuffling closer to you, the warmth of him blossoming a color in your heart you couldn't find anywhere else — much as you might try. Eddie took your hand, a bold move considering the crowded room, he brought it to his lips and kissed each knuckle. You still didn't look at him.
"Don't shut me out," his voice was so low compared to the banging of the music, you felt more than heard the shape of his words on your fingertips, "please."
Eddie spoke softly and looked at you even softer, his eyes were glistening bright with the colorful lights when you finally met them with your own. There was always a push and pull with Eddie. He'll kiss you in an abandoned corner of the library and then barely talk to you in the cafeteria; he won't call you to parties but will look like a kicked puppy if you so much as think about giving him a cold shoulder. You care for him, deeply, but sometimes, he confuses the shit out of you.
"I won't, when you don't give me a reason to." You snatched your hand back, ignoring how it tugged at your heartstrings.
Dark curls fell like a curtain over Eddie's eyes when he ducked his head, his fingers rhythmically tapping the counter beside him; "I was just… trying to give you an out."
"And who said I want one?"
"You should."
"That's not for you to decide," you said a bit harsher, causing Eddie to finally look at you again, his eyes twitching as he tried to hold your gaze. You sighed and took off your witch's hat, running a hand through your hair in frustration. "Whatever, I don't care," you shook your head and walked away, not looking back. Your feet carried you all the way to the front porch, as far away from Eddie as you could get.
You braced your hands on the railings, already considering walking back home because you were so done with this party.
"What's a pretty face doing here alone?"
An involuntary groan escaped you when you heard his voice, James or Josh or something else irrelevant was his name.
"'m not alone," you grumbled, stepping away when he invaded your space.
"Looks pretty alone to me." He smelled strongly of alcohol and weed, slurring his words as he reached for your waist. "Let's get a drink, sweet thing."
"No thanks, no company at all is much more appealing," you smiled all sweet, hoping he'd just give up.
"What's your problem?" Apparently not. He made to grab onto your arm, but ringed fingers caught hold of his first.
Of course, he followed you.
"She said no, man. Just drop it," Eddie said, steadily, as he subtly pushed the man away and stood in front of you.
"What's it to you, freak?" The guy puffed his chest out as she spat the words. "Mind your own business."
Part of you knew where this was going. You curled a finger around the belt loop of Eddie's jeans, tugging gently. "Eddie leave it, let's go."
Eddie chuckled, straightening his posture and standing a few inches taller than the guy, "oh I am, and why don't you mind your business, get in there, down a few more drinks, and do us all a favor and pass out, yeah?"
As much as you might like the protective side of Eddie, it was the wrong thing to say. The guy got red with anger, if anything for the sole reason of having someone talk back to him. Neither you nor Eddie saw his punch coming, fist colliding squarely with Eddie's cheek and nose.
A few sober-ish people gathered around quickly to hold him back, but the damage was already done. Eddie brought a hand up to his nose and felt wetness there, blood was dripping steadily from one nostril and mixing with the fake one from his makeup.
The crimson color made your stomach twist and turn, a knot forming in your throat. You grabbed the hand Eddie wasn't holding under his nose and started dragging him away from the party. He followed you blindly, his eyes were half-lidded because of the sharp pain.
Your boots crushed the damp lawn as you looked around, the music from inside the house growing lower and lower, "where's your van?"
"Just around the corner," he motioned to an empty street, far away from the prying eyes; it was barely illuminated by yellow street lights that had bugs chasing their warmth. A quiet corner of the world.
You stomped your way there, throwing your hat over the van's hood once you reached it. "The hell were you thinking? Taunting him like that, do you have a death wish?"
"I was thinking that he wasn't gonna give up on you that easy," Eddie pulled away his hand and grimaced at the sight. He could feel the metallic taste of blood on his upper lip.
"Oh, so you make him punch you?" You crossed your arms to keep yourself from reaching out, palms already slick with perspiration.
Eddie brushed the sleeve of his jacket under his nose, hissing at the sting it caused. He somewhat curled in on himself, too aware of your eyes not leaving him once, "I had it under control."
"Evidently," you scoffed and Eddie winced at your tone. It hurt you just as much. You sighed, leaned your head back — the dark sky was full of clouds, only a few stars peeking through, the wind only getting colder — and dropped the act.
You walked up to Eddie, all careful and slow just as you did with the stray cats you wanted to pet, raising both hands to cup his cheeks; "let me see that."
Eddie gulped when you touched him, growing stiff, as if bracing for a scolding. You saw his eyes get wet when your thumbs brushed his cheekbones, a tiny tear clinging to his lower lashes that you chose to ignore.
"I don't think it's broken," you took hold of your cloak, raising the ends of it to his nose. You gently cleaned away the blood, tracing the shape of his cupid's bow. Eddie scrunched his eyebrows when you touched the bridge of his nose and the reddish part of his cheek, whimpering a little. You muttered apologies under your breath.
The moment felt way more intimate than it should. Eddie reached for the hand you had on his other cheek, holding it in place when he kissed your palm.
You sighed. This guy.
You dropped your forehead to his shoulder in some sort of an awkward embrace; "you can't do shit like that, Eddie." You let go of your black cloak, sneaking your hand under his jacket, under his shirt, palm brushing the warm skin of his waist. "Can't get yourself hurt 'cause of me."
The music of the party, the crickets singing and the sizzling of the street lamps were nothing but background noise. Eddie kissed your temple, arms closing around your shoulders and pulling you closer; bits of the affection he had for you spilling more and more. "Did you mean it?"
You frowned, tracing random patterns on his back and feeling his goosebumps under your fingertips; "mean what?"
"That you-" he hesitated, as if the words were choking him. "That you don't care?"
Subconsciously, you squeezed him tighter, "of course not."
Eddie nodded, you felt it, an exaggerated motion to try and calm himself down. He tucked his head on your shoulder; "okay," the word came out so shaky you barely recognized it.
You pulled away and Eddie almost panicked, but you kept your hold on him, only moving to wipe away the last droplet of blood that escaped his nose; "I do care about you," you started, knowing damn well he needed to hear you say it to believe it. You traced the shape of his eyebrow with your thumb, all the way to his hairline to bury your fingers in his curls, trying to memorize every curve of him, "so much, Eddie. But you have to let me."
"I want to," he breathed, pupils were blown wide and shining bright as he cupped your cheek, rings cool against your skin. "More than anything, I want this," he said, to the way you clung to each other.
So what's stopping you? You silently asked with a tilt of your head.
The nervous energy bounced off of him as Eddie ran a tongue over his bottom lip. You're not sure if he knows it, but Eddie’s face plays out his emotions like a book. "But you shouldn't settle for someone like me." He said it quietly, as if speaking the words out loud would make you believe them too.
"Someone like you?" You let out a breathy chuckle, squishing his cheeks with both hands and forcing his eyes to not leave you. "Eddie you're such an easy one to love, you gotta know that. There's no one else I'd rather be with."
Though a single tear met the pad of your thumb, Eddie smiled, shape a bit crooked because of your hands; you dropped them to his hips again, waiting, wishing he wouldn't pull away.
He dug his teeth into his bottom lip, smiling something teary, hair bouncing when he nodded his head; "Yeah?"
The small word was filled with hope and desperation, almost making you tear up as well.
"Yeah." You'd tell him that every day if he asked you to.
With his heart almost beating out of his chest, Eddie leaned down, brushing his nose with yours. And any other coherent thoughts slipped his mind when his upper lip grazed yours. He caught your lips with his in no hurry, in a way he'd never done before; clinging to you with everything he had, eyebrows just a bit furrowed, and tilting his head to be as close as possible. You could feel him, in every sense of the word.
Eddie tasted like sunshine and chocolate and just a bit like blood; most of all, he tasted like the prettiest of promises.

Gayle & Phillip as parents/married couple and their dynamic with the Belchers
Phillip is so in love with Gayle he excuses her antics, despite driving him crazy. He makes sure she takes her meds and is very caring. Gayle often manipulates him to get what she wants, but she also cares for him and understands that sometimes she can be too much. She always has a way to cheer him up.
Gayle is extremely dependent on Phillip for everything. He is the one who cooks (which he enjoys and is pretty good at it, while Gayle is a terrible cook) and does most of the chores. Gayle also does chores, but mostly half-asses them.
After they get married, Gayle moves in with Phillip and his mother at his house, until she gets pregnant with their daughter. Even after they move to a new apartment, Phillip visits his mother regularly. Phillip's mother and Gayle don't really get along.
Phillip is very excited to be a girl dad. He spoils her, making all kinds of sweaters, dresses and dolls for her to play with. He introduces her to his nerdy interests and they talk A LOT about her feelings and how to handle and express them.
Gayle isn't as affectionate with her daughter as Phillip is, but she tries in her own way to bond with her, like making absurd art and playing music together. She can be very careless in her way to be the fun and cool parent. Sometimes Gayle prioritizes her cats over her child.
Their daughter grows up to be quite eccentric, awkward, sensitive, nerdy and very manipulative, especially with her parents (mostly Gayle)
Bob and Linda help a lot with taking care of Gayle's kid, as they don't believe she can make it when Phillip isn't around. Linda takes her role as the "cool aunt" too seriously, while Bob is way more chill.
Phillip gets closer to Linda and Bob after his daughter is born, but he still gets overwhelmed with Linda's energy. He bonds with Bob over cooking, like exchanging recipes and cooking techniques. Bob even lets him help with the Thanksgiving preparations. They also bond over their shared dislike for their parents-in-law.
The Belcher kids slowly warm up to the idea of Phillip as their uncle, though they never call him "uncle". Phillip is still closer to Tina compared to her siblings. Louise still messes with him but less often. The Belchers get along with their "little weirdo" cousin despite their significant age difference and her peculiar personality. Louise especially enjoys teaching her how to pull pranks.

Qsmp agere headcannons bc I have writers block and feel bad about not writing (also I'm small rn so no guarantee it makes sense)
Roier is a "potions under the sink" kiddo, Cellbit is a "takes his toys apart instead of playing with them" kiddo
They have matching everything. Pacifiers with guapito/gatinho on the handles, pajama onesies, those matching Simba and Nala plushies with the magnets in the nose, sippy cups, etc. The only difference is that Cellbit's have cats on them and Roier's have spiders
They are somehow even clingier when tiny. You cannot separate them, they're a package deal
Cellbit has a rule that teddy bears, especially white ones, are completely off limits bc it looks too much like Cucurucho
He's very sensitive to loud noises and gets incredibly freaked out by medical equipment
Roier was given Bobby's toys after he died, nobody is allowed to touch them but him and Jaiden
Baghera doesn't technically have a caregiver, but often ends up with either Etoiles or Bad
Ironmouse and Charlie are besties when little, they are constantly having playdates and if left unsupervised one of them will end up hurt
Niki spends most of her time alone when she's little, but sometimes she asks for company and every once in a blue moon people will find her drawings dropped off at their bases
Etoiles tends to get distracted while little to the point where he won't notice issues with his blood sugar, so Phil is his caregiver. Etoiles hates this arrangement not because he hates Phil but because he feels babied in a bad way. Most of the time he ends up lying about his age just so he can be on his own (he understands why it's a necessary precaution and he does think it's nice occasionally, but it's obnoxious and it makes him feel bad)
Phil and Bad are the server's go to babysitters
Phil is trying to take more time to himself to be tiny but he feels incredibly guilty about it
When he does let himself it's normally Fit or Forever who end up taking care of him
Tallulah has an uncanny ability to figure out when an islander is small and tends to "babysit" (y'know when you where little and a relative would leave you to watch a younger sibling for like five minutes just so they didn't like. Eat a Lego. Bc it's like that) until Phil shows up or finds their cg
Tina is Bagi's cg
Pac and Wil are playmates

Suppose in the fantastic beasts and where to find them movie, Gellert Grindelwald in disguise of Percival Graves sees Vanessa. He came to know she is a high class (and elegant) auror who is loyal to the Ministry. She used to work in the British ministry of magic but now she was transferred to MACUSA. So, she also has a good relationship with Tina Goldstein. Now let's see how it goes 🙈.
The infamous name Gellert Grindelwald plays a dangerous scenario in everybody's heads. Vanessa Marquez's one was also of no exception. Obvious for an auror loyal to the "good side." Then this new man named Percival Graves came.
"I'd like to welcome Mr. Graves," said Seraphina. " The new head of The Department of Magical Law Enforcement."
It has been sometime (not so long) since he came. When he first met Vanessa he was charmed as usual.
"This is Vanessa Marquez. She has quite the authority here," said Seraphina.
Vanessa gava shy yet gentle smile.
"Pleased to meet you." And Graves and Marquez shaked their hands.
Little did she know...it was the infamous Grindelwald.
The Grindelwald inside Graves was charmed as well.
Then this obscurus started to attack and Tina was suspended for being an auror temporarily.
"This is causing a serious problem. This is exposing the wizarding world to the no-maj people," said Seraphina. "I agree!" another auror. After a pause Percival Graves said, "I will take care of it." Then Tina interrupted the meeting to complain about Newt Scamander.
"Wait Newt's really here?" Thought Vanessa.
Then Percival Graves checked it out.
Vanessa was heading towards her office and she saw Tina with Newt. She rushed over.
"Tina! And Newt! You really are here but why? Magical creatures?" Vanessa laughed.
"The usual," replied Newt.
"You know him?" asked Tina.
"Yeah, I'm good friends with his brother. You should hurry find your suitcase! I'll talk to you later. Bye!" Vanessa went to her office.
"Hello mister whiskers!" greeted Vanessa after entering her office.
Tumblr media
"How are you?" Vanessa kept her belongings and picked up the cat to pet it. After petting it for sometime she started checking some documents. She took some documents and went out again.
"Bye Mr. Whiskers! I'll meet you again!" She said, kissed his nose and left for Mr. Graves's office.
"I don't get it. Where the bloody hell did this obsucurus come from!" Thought Vanessa. Being tangled in her thoughts she stumbled a little. Unfortunately it happened in front of Mr. Graves's office.
"Ouch!" Vanessa said. She picked up her file. But to her surprise she saw Mr. Graves coming out of his office.
Her eyes went wide in shock and quickly started to pick up her file but still not so fast.
"I'll help with that."
"Uh- no sir I got this." Vanessa quickly picked up the file and started to talk about the matter.
"You should be more careful." Then he showed a folded paper. It was an important document.
"Oh, sure, I will be." Then she grabbed the paper gently.
"Go sit inside, I'll be back." said Mr. Graves.
He couldn't but smile to himself thinking about that cute scene.
Hope y'all enjoyed. Nothing so much. Just the appetizer 😉.

Bagina/shyduo (cubitos ofc) AU where the jailsquad + Bagi are Federation experiments but different and Bagi and Tina become friends as kids but get completely separated until now
Bagi is more like Bluebird AU kinda thing but not quite. Bagi, Baghera and Jaiden had different treatments; Jaiden was basically treated like a princess, spoiled, always reassured that the Federation is her family and such, until she grows up and becomes a Federation employee;Baghera was just brutally experimented on, so inhuman and hurtful (my headcanon) she completely blocked it out of her mind when she escaped; Bagi was given material things, a cat to keep her company, a tree house, candy, a child's dream life, but always very detached yk? Treated like nothing but a subject, the employees never spoke to her no matter how much she talked to them, she called them her "family" even though she wasn't attached or cared for by them at all.
Jailsquad were completely different, they were just given rooms, if they wanted food and water they had to complete puzzles and challanges, like the jail ordeal but on a much smaller scale. A vibe like Portal, with the physical and mental challanges. Sometimes a few of them in a group and sometimes individual
Every time Tubbo starts his he tries to somehow find a way to sneak out, one of times he does where Tina just happened to be with him, she encounters a girl she hasn't seen before, carrying an orange cat around. Bagi, who at this point has never met another kid her age, is ecstatic to be friends while a shy Tina is freaking out, she gives her candy (wich Tina has never had before), talks all about her animals and stuff that she likes until Tina gets pulled away for escaping.
From then on, Tina always stalls the time she spends on the facility in-between tests to meet with Bagi, while Bagi herself just keeps asking the employees that acompany to let her stay there, she even comes up with excuses as to why despite them not seeming to care at all, just doing what she asks in the most distant way possible. They keep at it for a while until Bag starts planning to secretly break Tina out (because in her mind she isn't trapped at all), Tina is hesitant to defy them but she trusts Bagi more than anyone, they swore to always protect eachother so it'll probably be fine, right?
Except the Feds immediately catch wind of it and put Tina on a "break", wich means staying locked in her room for months, being given food from time to time. Meanwhile Bagi gets any memories of Tina completely erased (it gives her her first bit of hair dyed, wich s almost completely white by the time she's an adult).
When Tina's break is over, they purposefuly set her free to go find Bagi, and when she does, Bagi doesn't know who she is at all. Tina thinks she forgot completely on her own, that she was so unimportant to Bagi that being a away for a while could get her to forget their friendship.
From that point on, the Feds never take Bagi there again, just in case. Tina keeps sneaking out everytime to look for her, and never sees her friend again. Again, Tina thinks Bagi just doesn't care to go there anymore, but some part of her still wants to see her so much, she looks for her every single day for years. Until it's time for the final test, all of the jailsquad's memories are erased, replaced by fake lifes they never lived.
Bagi the entire time since has been a nuisance to the Federation, getting brainwashed so many times, it ends with total amnesia, only knowing her name and that she loves animals.
Also, you know how Bagi says she hasn't practiced her english in 10 years? What if the in-character reason is because she hasn't spoken to Tina for 10 years?
What if the reason her diaries were written in english is because deep down she was hoping Tina would find them, without even remembering her?

The Random Story of Neko Atsume - Gozer
As a Literature student, Gozer is exceptionally good at reading other cats...including Willie, the (unrequited) love of his life. But when he sees Willie and Ganache having some suspicious banter going on, he realises that he must take urgent action to win Willie's heart.
A Neko Atsume college AU fic that somehow exists because yes
Word count: 1858
.•° ✿ °•.
As a Literature student, I am exceptionally good at reading people.
So when Mack slips me the following note during class, I instinctively know the game he wants to play.
WILLIE WILL BE @ YARD 1:30 PM. TODAY ;D
Oh yes. I know the game.
And I refuse to play it.
I write back.
Source?
MARSHMALLOW HAS BEEN OBSERVING HIM FOR THE PAST 2 WEEKS. HE SUMMARISED A LIST OF MOST COMMON WILLIE APPEARANCES FOR YOU.
Of course they have
Just as I’m about to push the slip of paper back to Mack, Professor Tina appears in front of me, eyeing the note with interest. “Gozer. Mack. I know you’re both dying for this lecture to end, but I believe Animal Farm is of a greater importance than whatever manly gossip you have going on? Unless…”
I hold my breath.
This is it, folks. This is where she takes the note and reads it out to the class, just to humiliate me and conveniently throw me out of the closet. I always had a feeling Tina was a homophobe. Hopefully everyone else will be more accepting. They don’t seem very heterosexual themselves anyway. Except Willy, who’s always pining over Poppy…wait, Willy? What if my Willie is straight too? How will I handle that?
“...you come out and do ten push ups. Exercise is crucial to developing a longer attention span!”
Oh.
“Works for me.” Mack flexes his biceps and starts doing his push ups. I reluctantly trail out of my seat and do the same.
When we’re finally dismissed, Peaches nudges me in the hallway. “Care to let me in on your manly gossip?”
“No. I just…need help with a cat.”
“Ooooooooooh.” She flicks her ears pointedly. “You know what they say: girls are the best at girl advice~”
She can’t even begin to understand.
Mack swoops in to intervene. “Don’t worry about Gozer Schmozer. He’s a ‘bros before hoes’ kind of guy.”
We both shoot him a death glare.
“I mean. We just need some–” Mack forcefully slings a silver striped arm over my shoulder. “–good ol’ one-on-one masculine bonding time! We’ll catch you later!”
He drags me away from Peaches and shoves his watch in my face. “It’s 1:29. Go go go!”
The anxiety starts settling in. “Is he actually there? Does my fur look okay? Am I radiating the right aura of confidence and poise?”
Mack immediately dials Marshmallow. “Has the eagle landed?”
“Yes, captain.”
“Roger. The tortoise is on his way.” Turning back to me, he uses his paw to smooth an unruly tuft of fur on my head. “Listen. You look perfect.”
Awww. “Thanks.”
“Perfect for stalking your crush from behind a tree.”
“Nyam you.”
“Go get ‘em, tiger!”
What I witness in the Modern Yard can’t be further from what I expected.
Yet it seems like my greatest fears have come true.
Ganache is leaning suggestively against Willie on the Tower of Treats.
He says, “Are you a banana? Because you’re very…appealing.”
Willie chuckles and gives Ganache a playful swat. “You need to step up your game, Ganacho.”
As a Literature student, I am exceptionally good at reading people.
There’s no other explanation for this behaviour. No other explanation for that loving look in their eyes.
Willie and Ganache are into each other.
And there’s no room in Willie’s heart for me.
Dejected and droopy-tailed, I drag myself back the way I came.
What is my meaning of life without Willie?
Is there anything to motivate me to get out of bed every day, so I don’t rot away like a salted fish? Is there anyone I can watch in the hallways, hoping just to catch a glimpse of his gorgeous gorgeous blue eyes?
There’s a cat-shaped void in my very existence where he used to be. It tastes mildly like sesame.
Without yin, what is yang? Without him, who am I?
Upon seeing Mack, I let myself fall on top of him in defeat.
We lie there for a bit. He finally breaks the silence by asking, “So, did you get the intel you need?”
I groan. “He was flirting with Ganache. FLIRTING! I’m such a fool. To think I ever had a chance with Wonkie…”
“Woah woah woah.” Mack stands up and I fall on the floor. “You’re many things, but you are not a quitter. Are you seriously going to let some scrawny IT guy steal your man?”
“That’s exactly the problem! He’s the it guy and I’m just–”
Wait a second.
He’s right.
I am NOT losing Willie to Ganache.
“I’m just a shining radiant unicorn of charisma and rainbows, and I WILL show him who’s boss.”
Mack gives me a fist bump.
Marshmallow, who had silently joined us, brings up his holoscreen. “The next Willie sighting will be in the Cardboard Cafe at 3:49. He usually meets with Ganache there before their proper Cafe ‘date’.”
I bare my teeth. “Wonkie won’t know what hit him.”
But just as I’m ready to tackle this fiasco head on, I see Willie and Ganache whispering in front of the toilets.
Ganache is, unfortunately but predictably, a terrible whisperer. “How about this? You are my sweetheart, you are my hero, I love you more than 1/x as x approaches zero. Did that…” He performs an unnecessary shoulder waggle. “...get your heart racing?”
Willie’s laughter usually sounds like heaven to my ears, but given the context of his joy, I’m finding it really hard to smile along.
Ganache’s gaze flicks towards me for a fraction of a second – is that a WINK?? – before ushering Willie into the WC, heads pressed together in deep conversation.
I make a vow to myself.
I will BULLDOZE their relationship to the ground.
I angrily sweep into the library and drop my bag down on the seat next to Peaches and across from Sooty.
“Shhhhhh,” shushes Maple from the adjacent table. “Silence in the library.”
“Gozer!” Peaches greets softly. “To what do I owe the pleasure?”
I plop my bag on the ground and pull out my laptop. “Nothing! I’m just here to get some reading done and I’m NOT trying to distract myself from Willnache.”
I immediately regret mentioning Wonkie by name.
Sooty leans over with a curious sparkle in her eye. “Willie and Ganache? But what about P–”
Maple slams her laptop shut and stands up with a sneer. “I’m sorry, but the rest of us don’t need to listen to your speculations about Ganache and Willie’s fulfilling love life. It’s cacophony to my ears, and frankly I find it a bit repulsive.” She leaves and heads upstairs before I can voice my agreement.
“What were you going to say, Sooty?” Peaches asks.
“Nothing.” Sooty turns back to me instead, with an unreadable expression on their face. “So who are you into? Willie or Ganache?”
The cat may as well be out of the bag now. “Willie.”
Peaches faceplants on the table. “Shre-Manek’s sake, I’m so sorry for assuming your special cat was a girl earlier.”
“That is the leAST of my worries right now,” I reassure her without sounding particularly reassuring, voice crack and all. “He’s dating Ganache, I saw them bantering.”
“Interesting,” says Sooty. “Let me check with Ganache.”
“NO!” I practically scream. Lunging for her watch, I swipe a paw at hers as she sends her message: ‘are you and willie boyfriends????’
Ganache instantly reads the text. He doesn’t reply.
Exasperated, I slide my laptop back into my bag and head off, but Peaches follows hot on my heels and taps my shoulder once we’re outside the library. “Wait up!”
“What?”
She pants for breath (she’s never been the most athletic). “They’re not dating.”
“What?” I sound like a broken record of complete and utter confusion.
“I’m sworn to secrecy, just…trust me.”
“Peaches. I know what I saw. My Litty senses are never wrong. But don’t worry, I’m going to tell him anyway.”
“From one ‘Litty’ student to another, I admire your confidence. Why?”
Why else? “Because I’m clearly the superior option, and it’s time he sees that.”
3:48. I’m in position at the Cardboard Cafe.
Willie approaches from the distance.
Mack mouths ‘GOOD LUCK’ from his hiding spot behind a tree. Marshmallow, next to him, gives me a thumbs up.
I blink gratefully and sit up straight.
Willie smirks and slips past me to his usual spot behind the counter. “Hi.”
“Hi.” Wow, he’s beautiful. “I have to tell you something. I–”
“Ah-ah-ah.” Willie places a paw on my mouth. I don’t dare breathe. “I’m going first.”
He takes a deep breath.
“Are you Google?”
“What?” escapes my mouth.
“Because…” He gets so enticingly close, I’m drowning in his sesame-scented cologne. “...you’re everything I’m looking for.”
My brain feels like a mush of instant noodles.
The air is so thick you could cut it with Don’s fencing sword.
“HELL YEAH!” An orange cat explodes from the tree Mack and Marshmallow are hiding behind. “What did I tell you, brothers? What you say doesn’t matter. HOW you say it is everything.”
“You know, Fred, that’s unusually profound of you.” Ganache drops out of the tree and lands next to Fred. “Did you steal that from somewhere?”
Fred flexes his muscles. “Yes.”
Marshmallow and Mack don’t seem the slightest bit phased that Willie’s boy squad was in the vicinity the whole time. Either they’ve ran through a list of all the worst case scenarios and are fully prepared, or…
“Did you all plan this?” I’ve never heard Willie sound this bewildered before.
Our friends exchange a sheepish look.
“I can explain!” Ganache steps between me and Willie. “Gozer, I didn’t want to outright tell you that Willie has a massive crush on you but I DID try to make it as noticeable as possible.”
“We knew that if you thought Willie was into someone else, you’d finally feel a sense of urgency and make the first move. So all of the times you saw Ganache and Willie being sus were carefully arranged,” Mack elaborates.
Marshmallow flicks their wrist to open a holoscreen showing a notes document: ‘WILLIE APPEARANCES - lol ship’
Fred scoots close to Willie. “How does it feel to be out-masterminded, crafty boy?”
“I honestly can’t believe you all,” he finally says, sounding like he’s about to murder someone (sexily). “Telling both of us that our feelings were mutual would have made much more sense than putting on this shitshow.”
“But that’s not as ✨romantic✨!” Mack and Fred interject simultaneously.
Hold up.
Did Willie just say that our feelings are mutual?
Best Boy proceeds to give a spiel about how true love can’t be manufactured. But as attractive that is, I can’t bring myself to focus.
Somehow, I overthought myself to success.
“So, Gozer,” Willie pokes my side with a paw to bring me back to the real world. “What do you say? Let’s leave these troublemakers and head to the real Cafe.”
I nod like a bobblehead, still in shock. “S-sure! It’s a date.”
Mack, Marshmallow, Ganache and Fred collectively smirk.
“I mean…it’s a date, right?”
Willie wraps a tail around me. “Guess we’ll find out.”

okay SO i’ve been working on this list for a couple days since i’m finally revisiting my high school au thing. I have four different friend groups (GHOST, Drifters, E.G.O, SHADOW/A.L.T.E.R) and I’m gonna do different posts because I’m still touching up on mainly the last two. Here we will start, of course, with the GHOST Squad:
Seniors (12)
Midas Orville
Height: 5’11
Grades: A/A+
Favorite Class(es): AP Statistics, Business and Marketing
Extra-Curriculars:
Student Council: Student Body Co-President
Jazz Band: Alto Sax
Freshman Mentor (was bitter that Jules didn’t end up in his orientation group)
Extra:
Blazers over hoodie combo>>>
Probably richer than you
Pettiness x100
Brutus Alekhin
Height: 6’4
Grades: B/B+
Favorite Class(es): Government, Weights Training
Extra-Curriculars:
Varsity Football
Student Council: Student Body Treasurer
Extra:
Only does SC because Midas wanted him to (has to have someone always on his side)
Always up to date on everything: school dates, event, even simple gossip. You’ll never know unless you happen to ask
Prefers to stay in the background but always willing to help out
Juniors (11)
Martina Ortiz (TNTina)
Height: 5’2
Grades: C-/C
Favorite Class(es): Physics
Extra-Curriculars:
Wrestling
Choir: Alto
Extra:
Really smart (especially math and science) but could care less about school so she slacks off
Sleep deprived half the time (totally not because she plays video games all night, yeah)
Understands Spanish but has trouble speaking it coherently; she will, however, teach you all the swears and insults
Maya Styles (little on the nose i know)
Height: 5’6
Grades: B+/A-
Favorite Class(es): World History
Extra-Curriculars:
Orchestra: Cello
JROTC
Extra:
Tea>Coffee, drinks it every day before school
Ultimate peacemaker and preventer of death; will not let anyone walk away unless it’s on good terms, and constantly has to make sure these mfs (*cough* Tina) don’t die

Freshmen (9)
Skye Newman-Cortez
Height: 5’3
Grades: B/B+
Favorite Class(es): Art, Photography
Extra-Curriculars:
Esports (probably Super Smash Bros.)
Volleyball
Yearbook Photographer (Kinda)
She’s not officially on yearbook staff but she’ll slide Ocean (who is) pictures she takes at events on her camera and some will end up in the yearbook.
Extra:
Lives off of hot chocolate, all year round
Tries to be friends with everyone (40% success rate)
Never any space in her backpack because where there’s no school-related supplies, there’s snacks or some sort of arts supplies
General Group Headcanons
(Some are repeated from the previous post)
Tina joined choir freshman year but was very self-conscious about it, so she forced Meowscles (his human name is Maxwell because it starts with M and i’m uncreative) to join with her. Turns out he’s a really good bass and he LOVES being on the stage, so he forces her into all these duets to get her to loosen up.
Skye and Tina practically live at each other’s houses. They’re always at one or the other after school and have sleepovers every weekend, where they watch movies and play video games all day/night. To each other, Tina is the cool junior and Skye is the cool freshman
Despite being one of the peacemakers/death preventers (the other being Brutus), Tina and Max have gotten very good at convincing Maya to join them on their not-so-very-safe shenanigans
Brutus, Max, and Maya have specific days they go to the gym together after school.
Brutus is always the one to drive, mostly because he’s the safest and quietest option. Maya doesn’t drive, Tina would be 20mph above the speed limit, Max turns the ride into a karaoke session (where he sings off-key on purpose), and Midas simply likes being a rider.

TPOL!JK
tina hwang is as beautiful as a rose, a complete contrast to your plain self. the heiress to the hwang dynasty is a famous model in south korea and is praised for her cat-like features and sweet demeanor. she was jungkook’s sort-of first love and attended the same performing arts school as him.
they dated for three long years before jungkook abruptly broke up with her and even cut her off. she was very heartbroken about it but went on with her career and became a respected figure for the little ones who aspired to be models just like her. so her reaction when she found out her father secured a business deal with jungkook, let’s say, she was MORE than ecstatic.
she got to be with her love once again and purposely gave him more exposure in the media by posing as his “girlfriend” and blowing his stock market through the roof!
people wanted to know more about the two and being low-key wasn’t going to work for jungkook anymore thanks to his oh-so sweet business partner who is shockingly, pretty good at handling business. she’s not just a pretty face who catwalks in expensive clothing, after all.
sooner or later, jungkook and her would be together but that would change when she caught wind and SAW her business partner on his knees begging a girl to stay with him. a powerful man like him on his knees?! she felt her heart break a little and brought it to both her dad and jaekuk about the matter. it’s embarrassing to see him like that and heartbreaking to know he isn’t on his knees for her.
granted, they aren’t dating but the media was sent into a frenzy upon the matter. stocks even decreased because of the videos but like the angel tina is, she fixed it for him by bringing jungkook to more flashy events with him on her arm.
so here tina is in switzerland to clean up yet ANOTHER mess and maybe he’ll finally be hers. switzerland is good place to put a clothing store considering the cold weather compared to korea’s. she sent him a text that she was in town and sent another asking him to meet up with her in her hotel to discuss some business endeavors that could be good for the both of them. he owes her for cleaning up the mess he made after all and hours later, he arrives with a not-so happy look on his face.
“don’t give me that look” she pouts before letting him inside the fancy hotel room and shutting the door behind him.
“okay, so i have some good news!!” tina cheers while offering jungkook a coffee she ordered in just the way he likes. “we have some invitations to some fancy shows in switzerland and london, even celebrities will be here for it! there’s a fashion show the week after that and that’s when we can announce that we’re gonna release a clothing line. a winter clothing line that you’ll of course fund and i’ll generate billions because it’s cold as hell up here. if you want people to buy in, we have to keep looking like a couple so no fuck-ups like the last time”
He scoffs in surprise. He is so pissed off. He looks at the woman with anger. “ Are you fucking kidding me right now?” He tsks, “ I don’t want to open any store- and if you want to I will not be the one who funds it.” he rolls his eyes.
Jungkook is feeling so frustrated right now because this woman is so clingy, she’s literally taking his time when he could be spending that time with you.
But instead, he’s here. “Tina. Why are you here?” He asks, he knows this woman better than anyone. “ I might know just the reason..” he doesn’t take the coffee cup that she offers him. “you do realize how precious my time is right?” He groans.
“ I am not here to hang out with you. Why don’t you get the hint?” He’s glaring at her. “ why won’t you ever get the fact that you were not my choice? But my father’s.” He spits.
“ I obviously know why you’re here. But I don’t care because I am in love with someone else and I’m really happy with her.” Jungkook scratches on the tattoo on his collarbone.
“We were history. Get over it.” he was never the one to be known for his patience or kindness. He doesn’t regret any of the words he said to her right now because she needs a reality check.
“I know father sent you here. Does he really think that- you can never replace her in my life!” He laughs at her hurt expression.
“you are so fucking clingy and you try to control everything and everyone that’s why we broke up- oh no wait I broke up with you.” He says.
“just leave me alone if you don’t want any consequences that you won’t be strong enough to deal with.” he stalks closer to her and warns her by whispering. “ hurt her and you are dead.” He can read her like a book.
Her jealousy was always too much for him to deal with.
“and we were never a couple.”
That’s all he says before turning on his shoes, Jungkook feels so angry right now. Maybe he will feel better if he sees you.
They cannot let anyone ruin this trip. As Jungkook walks out of the hotel room, he takes out his phone to text you. “Dinner tonight?”

I started working on a post a few days ago, but one of my two cats, Max, suddenly became very ill yesterday and needed to be rushed to the emergency clinic.
For the low cost of only a few thousand dollars, they were able to save him. He spent last night there. He'll spend tonight there. He'll be back in the morning.
This fucks my finances for the next few months. No way around that. I'm lucky. I can, hopefully, recover from this by stopping putting money into my retirement for a few months. I've been lucky enough to have never needed to skip a month in the last eight years. Now I have to, because of my cat, who had a urinary blockage, which is exactly what it sounds like. It mostly happens to male cats, because they have narrower urethras. I can't even imagine how much pain he was in when he fell down and couldn't stand again, and I picked him up and he meowed at me in pain, a thing he's never done before, ever, in the ten years I've had him.
If he gets another one, and he might, now that he's had this one, then he'll die. Simple as that. I'll call someone who will come and, for the low price of just under a thousand dollars, euthanize him. He'll be home with me there holding him, though, and that matters. It'll be the last big expense I have to pay to fulfill the promise I made to him when I adopted him to take care of him. I want to be there to watch him die.
It's very depressing, and I'm very down about it. The vet says that Max has checked all the boxes for being unlikely to get another blockage, because he's 13 years old, way older than most cats who get more than one of these, his kidneys are in good shape, he didn't have a lot of blood in his urine once they unblocked him, and he bounced back really quickly. His urine also had a really high PH, which suggests he may have had a UTI cause it. They gave him antibiotics and are flushing his system with an IV to try to completely clean out his bladder of all remaining debris and mucus and so on.
So he's probably going to be fine.
He's going to be on a special diet for the rest of his life, which is tricky, because my other cat, Tina, is already on a special kidney diet.
That's how it is. He's thirteen. She's seventeen. Neither of them has a lot of time left, I think.
I'll try to write the post I was going to write a few days ago soon. My next writing class starts Sunday. Once that happens, most of my writing energy is going to go there.
I have no idea if anybody on Tumblr actually read or enjoyed "Strings." I hope at least one person did. I feel very silly posting things nobody reads, so I like to imagine that there's even one person who does. If you did read it, it wouldn't hurt to let me know. I won't be weird about it.
Anyway. I'll be around.

Synopsis: Penny the babysitter loves her kids, then goes to a party with Eddie

October 31st, 1984
“Trick or Treat, Freak”
The next few weeks at school passed by quickly, Eddie and Penny had become close friends. She split her lunch times evenly between Robin and the Hellfire table. Her weeks were also pretty much planned out to a T. Mondays were for homework, so her mom would know she was still taking her studies seriously. Tuesdays she would go to the Hideout to see her new favorite band and Eddie. Wednesdays were for babysitting Dustin, Thursdays were for Robin and their movie night, Fridays were for babysitting Will, and weekends were for whatever she wanted. Although that normally would sound like a drag, Penny absolutely adored her schedule now. Tuesdays definitely added something that was missing.
Today was Wednesday. Babysitting day and it happened to be Halloween. Penny loved the kids she babysat. Usually it was just Dustin on Wednesdays, other times it included Will, sometimes Lucas and Mike tagged along. Tonight was probably gonna be one of those nights she had all four, and then after that there was a party at Tina’s that she was meeting Eddie at, of course planning to make sure the kids all got home safe. Penny always felt very protective of the kids. It hadn’t been easy when Will had gone missing last year. It wasn’t even her night to babysit but the second Dustin had called her house to tell her he was gone, she was there. She dropped everything and joined the kids in their search for him, and in that search they’d found out more than they’d bargained for. The town of Hawkins was not as it seemed. The once sleepy village harbored dark secrets. After learning that, Penny vowed to never let anything happen to her kids or anyone she cared about. Not ever again.
Penny was honestly looking forward to Halloween, she’d picked out the costume she was gonna wear to take the boys trick or treating. She was going as Dana Barret from Ghostbusters, complete with a Sigourney Weaver-esque wig. Dustin had begged her to dress up with them and she wasn’t gonna say no to him, it was impossible. Though, she had a different costume for later in the evening.
The rumble of the poorly paved road beneath her Chevy Celebrity drowned out the sounds of the music that was playing lowly in her car, while normally she would listen to the music blaring; she didn’t want to give Claudia a heart attack. She clicked her blinker and turned into the gray driveway that led to Dustin’s house, pulling under the awning. She got out of the car and stopped short when she thought she heard something near the trash can.
“Mews? Is that you, baby? Where you at?” She called out to Dustin’s cat. Not hearing or seeing anything she shrugged and walked towards the door, knocking sharply on it and checking her watch. The door swung open to reveal Claudia, camera in hand.
“Hi Penny! Thank you so much for taking him. With what happened with Will last year I’m on edge but I have to be here for the trick or treaters!” Claudia rambled out while leading Penny into the cozy home.
“Oh it’s no problem Ms. Claudia, I’m more than happy to take my favorite guy trick or treating.” Penny tried her best to reassure Claudia that she truly didn’t mind taking Dustin anywhere.
“PENNY!! YOU DRESSED UP WITH US!” Dustin shouted at a volume that would envy Robin’s outbursts. He ran towards Penny engulfing her in the biggest hug he could. Penny chuckled as she was nearly taken to the ground with the force of Dustin’s tackle.
“I said I would Dusty. I am a woman of my word, sir” Dustin looked at her with a wide grin.
“That you are, dear lady. Let’s go, we’re meeting the others at Mike’s! BYE MOM!” Dustin practically dragged Penny back to her car as she bade goodbye to Claudia. Candy seemed to be a really powerful motivator. Dustin pulled open the passenger door with a quickness, and put his proton pack in the backseat so he wouldn’t crush it. Penny got in right after him and buckled her seat belt. She started the car but made no motion to move, waiting.
“Penny you okay?” Dustin looked at her concerned.
“I’ll be better once you buckle your seatbelt, butthead” she looked at him with a twinkle of mischief, comparable to Eddie’s, in her eye.
“Shit sorry yeah I got it” Dustin quickly grabbed the restraint and clicked it in. As soon as he was safely in, Penny pulled the car out of the drive and started toward the Wheeler residence.
As soon as they arrived, Dustin unbuckled quickly and snatched his proton pack from the backseat, got out of the car and put it on, in one fell swoop. Penny giggled at how excited he was for Halloween. She felt the same amount of excitement for the party later. As Dustin ran to Lucas and Mike, Penny turned off the car and got out. She caught sight of Will walking towards the other boys, without Jonathan. Penny walked up to Jonathan’s car window and knocked lightly, startling him out of his thoughts.
“Hey sorry about that, you’re not coming with us?” Penny asked him, slightly concerned they might’ve had a fight.
“Uhh no I’m not, he kinda felt… I don’t know, like too much of a kid so I’m gonna let him go with you guys. But I told him to be back here at 9.” He responded, a tinge of sadness lacing his voice.
“Oh okay I get it. After last year, he probably feels like everyone’s treating him like he’s glass. Or like with kid gloves. It must be hard for him” Penny was sure that’s what it was, why he didn’t want Jonathan to go with them. But she felt bad. She had to go with them and she didn’t want Will to feel like she was treating him differently than she always had.
“That’s actually exactly what he said. You’re perceptive, Castillo.” Jonathan chuckled, surprised that Penny had just sniffed out the exact reasoning like a bloodhound.
“Nothing gets past me, Byers. You going to Tina’s later?” She asked, referencing the paper in his hand. Penny knew Jonathan wasn’t one for parties but she did know Nancy was going, which would mean Jonathan wouldn’t be far behind. The guy had it bad but had resigned himself to being her friend, since she was with Steve.
“You know, I was thinking about it actually. Probably for a little while. I’ll see you there?” Jonathan gave her a genuine smile with his question.
“Yeah I’ll be there! I’m meeting up with Eddie there. Are you gonna wear a cost-“ “PENNYYYY!!! We gotta go before all the full-size candy is gone!” Dustin hollered, interrupting her mid-sentence.
“Ha. I better go! I’ll see you later.” She said, waving goodbye to Jonathan
“Alright, you heathens, I’m coming, I’m coming. Don’t get your panties in a knot.” she called out as she made her way towards the mini-ghostbusters. The party travelled down the darkening road together, stopping at each house along the way, and getting a boatload of candy already. Dustin and Lucas walked close to Penny with Will and Mike up ahead, fiddling with the video camera Will had brought with him.
“Hey Penny, what does presumptuous mean?” Dustin asked while walking next to her, seemingly out of nowhere. Lucas chuckled softly at his question.
“Uhhh it means like to assume something but like wrongly. Almost like you’re being inappropriate for saying what you did. Why? Spelling test?” Penny asked, curiously.
“THAT'S WHAT IT MEANS? I knew it was bad!! Why didn’t you tell me, asshole.” Dustin made to pounce on Lucas but Penny grabbed him before he could.
“Hey stop, you’re being a little shit. What’s going on?” Penny asked, an air of authority in her voice.
Dustin calmed himself and continued walking with them, Lucas was still laughing but cut himself off mid chortle with just one look from Penny.
“We invited Max to come trick or treating with us.” Dustin started quietly, as if he didn’t want someone to hear.
“Okay and what did he say?” Penny pushed, she hated when the boys fought and this seemed like a stupid reason.
“SHE- said it was presumptuous of us to think she’d want to come trick or treating with us. AND THEN SHE TRIED TO RUN US OVER” Dustin deflated. The second Penny heard the word SHE, a lightbulb went off. It took her a second to register his last statement
“So she’s pretty- WAIT did you say RUN YOU OVER? LIKE WITH A CAR??” Anger coursed hotly through Penny’s veins, enveloping her in a bright red rage.
“Well she didn’t try to run us over. But her brother did.” Lucas chimed in.
“Yeah it was a blue car. Like a sports one. We were riding our bikes home from school and it just kept coming up faster and faster and we couldn’t bike fast enough, so we had to crash in the grass and then it veered at the last second” Will added from up ahead, before continuing to talk with Mike, who seemed unusually quiet she noticed.
Penny knew exactly who drove the blue sports car and she was seething, Billy Hargrove was a sorry excuse for a human being. Rude and hateful. He had a pretty face but an ugly heart, and it radiated off of him in waves. Penny couldn’t stand him.
“Don’t worry. I’ll take care of Billy. So you invited Max, you put any more kids on my roster, I’m gonna have to charge you another Kit Kat bar.” Penny giggled at her own joke, truthfully she didn’t mind when extra kids tagged along. “Did you tell her where we were gonna be? Who knows, maybe she’ll show up?” Penny tried to be optimistic but she didn’t know if Max would be like Billy. She didn’t want the boys wrapped up with someone like that.
“I told her we would meet at the Maple Street cul-de-sac at 7. On the dot.” Dustin explained. Penny glanced at her watch and saw that it was nearing 6:50.
“Well we’re already close by, let’s hit a few more houses and then we can see if she shows up.”
They went to a few more houses, getting handfuls of candy at each one. They made their way down the road towards the other houses, stuffing their candy into their pillowcases.
“If I get another 3 musketeers, I’m gonna kill myself” Lucas chided.
“What’s wrong with 3 Musketeers?!” Penny and Dustin asked at the same time.
“What’s wrong with 3 musketeers!?” Lucas questioned the two of them.
“No one likes 3 musketeers,” Mike added.
“Yeah it’s just nougat,” interjected Will.
“Just nougat? Just nougat. It is top three for me” Dustin defended his beloved candy bar as Penny chimed in with “top 5 for me”
“Top three and five? Oh god gimme a break” Mike concluded, condemning Dustin and Penny for their choice in chocolatey goodness.
“Seriously, I could eat a bowl of nougat. Straight up” Dustin continued before stopping short when someone in a Michael Myers mask jumped out with a knife growling at them.
The five of them screamed as the figure lifted their mask and began laughing.
“Holy shit you should’ve seen the look on your faces. And you? Who screams like that? You sound like a little girl.” She said pointedly at Lucas, who admittedly had screamed in a very shrill way. Penny took in the small red headed girl, figuring out that it was Max straight away.
Max made to walk away before stopping and turning around, “hey, you guys coming or not? Oh I heard we should hit up Loch Nora. That’s where the rich people live, right?,” before continuing to walk.
Lucas looked at Dustin with his eyes blown as wide as they probably ever had been. Both of them running off after her enthusiastically shrieking, with Will following behind, and Mike begrudgingly trailing after. Penny brought up the rear with all five kids in front of her, making sure to keep an eye on them. They made their way over to Loch Nora and hit a few houses there. Max was right about the rich people, they really liked giving full size candy. One house even gave Penny a full size Kit Kat, which she took gladly and was munching on. Lucas and Dustin were walking up front with Max, Penny could hear them laughing all the way from the back of the group. She was glad they were having such a good time and Max seemed like a good kid. Mike and Will were just up ahead of Penny and talking between themselves before Mike walked ahead of Will. Will kept walking when someone dressed as a werewolf jumped out at him, “Watch it, Zombie Boy.” Will leaped back startled. A second one dressed as Jason added in, “trick or treat, freak.” A third, a clown, finished off with “BOO!” Causing Will to fall back. Penny was livid.
“HEY! FUCK KNUCKLES! BACK OFF OR I SWEAR TO GOD YOU’LL REGRET IT! I'LL FUCKING CUT OFF YOUR TOES AND FEED THEM TO MY DOG!” Penny didn’t have a dog but they didn’t have to know that. She hurled her half eaten Kit Kat at the clown's face, so hard that it broke into pieces. Then she pushed the werewolf with such force he fell to the ground. The anger she felt must’ve proven she meant business because all three boys scrambled off, terrified. Penny turned around to help Will only to find him gone.
“Will, sweetie, are you o-?? WILL WHERE ARE YOU? WILL?!” The rest of the party rushed up and asked what was going on. Penny explained as quickly as she could before saying “and now I can’t find him”
They split up and searched for what seemed like hours but was realistically probably only 10 or so minutes. Penny and Mike searched under cars and on the sides of houses. And then they heard it. A quiet whimper. They cut through a driveway towards where they heard it coming from.
“Will, what’s wrong?” Mike stammered out once they found him, huddling behind a brick wall. “We couldn’t find you! Are you hurt?”
Will looked all around in disbelief as Penny crouched down and placed a hand on the side of his face.
“Will, sweetie, are you okay?” Will launched himself into Penny's arms and she immediately wrapped them around him.
“Holy shit. Is he okay?!” Dustin came up with Lucas, both out of breath from running around looking for him.
“I don’t know. Penny I’m gonna get him home okay?” Mike looked at her seriously.
“Yeah okay. Take him back to your house. That’s where Jonathan told him to go” Mike nodded at her in response before helping Will stand, Dustin moving to help him.
“I got him!” Mike shouted aggressively.
“Mike!” Dustin and Penny said together. Dustin in a more defeated way and Penny scolding.
“Keep trick or treating. I’m bored anyways” Mike said before he stalked off, arm around Will helping him to walk.
“What’s wrong with him?” Max questioned. Truth be told, it was a good question. The three people she’d asked simply shrugged. Though, Penny wasn’t sure if she meant Will or Mike at this point. Mike had been off all night, but Penny had attributed it to him missing El.
“Do you guys want to keep trick or treating or do you have enough candy?” Penny asked.
“I think we should just go home,” Dustin said, Lucas nodding in agreement.
“Okay I’ll take you guys back. Max, honey, do you need a ride home? Come on I’ll take you, I’m sure Billy’s at Tina’s and I don’t want you walking home alone this late” Penny stated, not really giving Max the option to opt out.
“Uh sure, thanks Penny.” Max stared at the woman wide eyed, mind blown by the kindness she was just shown.
The group made their way back to the Wheeler house where Penny’s car was parked and got in. The ride to each of their houses was quiet, Max was dropped off first, followed by Lucas and then Dustin.
Just before Dustin exited the car, Penny looked at him, a smirk on her face.
“Max is really pretty, Dusty. You better get that girl before Lucas does.” Dustin felt his face flush, before nodding his head so fast it looked like it could pop off at any second. He exited the car and Penny pulled away from the house.
She rushed to her own house to get ready for the party at Tina’s. She was going as Ellen Ripley from Alien, donning the same Sigourney wig she’d been in all night. She threw on a green jumpsuit and got the toy pulse rifle off her bed. She touched up her makeup and put on her white strapped reeboks. Once she was ready, she ran downstairs and out the door. Hopping into her car, starting it and peeling out of the driveway towards Tina’s house.
She pulled into the front yard of Tina's, not finding parking on the driveway and following the suit of other cars that had parked in the grass. She made her way to the front door, moving to open it just as it flew away from her grasp and Steve Harrington walked out colliding with her.
“Woah. Harrington, where’s the fire?” She said as she rubbed her forehead to ease the pain from where it had bumped into his chest.
“Sorry Penny. I can’t. I just. I have to go.” Steve began to walk off but was stopped by Penny’s hand on his arm holding him there.
“Steve. Come on. It’s me. Are you okay?” Penny felt like she’d said that phrase for the millionth time that night.
“I- no. I’m not. But just. I really can’t talk about it right now or I might actually explode. Can you just please make sure Nancy gets home safe? She’s like really drunk and I just. I don’t know.” He looked at her with sadness in his eyes as soon as he’d said her name. Penny knew immediately that whatever happened had to do with Nancy and she knew it wasn’t good.
“Yeah sure, Steve, I’ll make sure she gets home. But you better get home safe too. Got it?” Steve nodded at her and left toward his car.
Penny walked into the house, her eyes scanning the horde of people for Nancy or Eddie. Instead, finding Jonathan.
“Hey Jonathan, I have a favor to ask.” She explained that she was trying to find Nancy to make sure she got home safe.
“Oh it’s no worries. I’ll take her home, you have fun. I was about to leave anyway. This really isn’t my scene”
After thanking Jonathan profusely, Penny went back to searching the crowd for the mop of brown hair she’d come to know well.
She made her way to the kitchen and found a bowl of punch, she took a cup and filled it halfway. She took a large gulp and winced at the burning feeling making its way down her throat. She downed the rest of it quickly as she pushed through the throngs of people toward the back door that led to the expansive backyard. She walked down the steps discarding her cup on the bannister, and then she spotted him. Tall, curly brown hair, smoking a joint against the outside wall of the home. She made her way over to him, toy rifle in hand pointed at him.
“Put ’em up, Munson.” She stated, giggling. Eddie complied immediately, holding the joint between his teeth and putting both hands in the air. She took the opportunity she saw, plucking the joint out of his mouth with her free hand and taking a deep drag.
“You gotta stop stealing my smokes like that, sweetheart” He really didn’t mind when she did it, he just liked teasing her.
“Well if you’d sell me some I wouldn’t have to steal yours would I, Eds?” She glanced up at him, eyebrow raised, and a smirk lining her lips.
“Well where’s the fun in smoking by yourself?” He responded, voice full of cheekiness.
“Eddie, you literally were just smoking by yourself.”
“Yeah and it was boring!! But now you’re here, smoking my joint when I had one for you anyway.” Her eyes widened as she handed him back his spliff and made grabby hands for her own. He guffawed at her.
“No, this one’s yours now. You smoked like half of it in one toke. What the hell kinda lungs do you have, woman?” Penny giggled before grabbing the unused joint from behind his ear and holding it between her lips.
“Lungs of a singer, baby. Where’s your lighter?” He looked at her in mock disbelief.
“Somewhere you’ll never get it.” He smirked at her, patting his front pocket to show her where the lighter was.
She thought about it for a second, then with no warning, pressed him against the wall with her rifle and slipped her hand into his pocket, snatching the lighter from where he had hidden it. He inhaled sharply and froze completely, making it all the more easy for her to get it. She flicked the lighter at the end of the joint in her mouth before pulling and blowing the smoke straight into his flushed face.
“Jesus Christ, Penny. Take me to dinner first before you feel me up at a party,” he held each side of his jacket closed in a joking way, as if he felt exposed.
“Har har. Trust me Eddie if I was feeling you up, you’d know it. Where’s your costume by the way?” She asked as she took another hit, beginning to feel the effects of the weed.
“I am my own costume, honey, Eddie “the Freak” Munson,” he laughed as he said it. He didn’t really pay attention to the disparities people spewed at him. But sometimes… he did. He stopped laughing when he noticed the frown that had taken hold of Penny’s face.
“I don’t like it when you call yourself that. You’re not a freak. And I really wish this town knew a good guy when he’s standing right in fucking front of them.” She exhaled sharply and looked at him, tears threatening to spill over.
“Woah hey, it’s okay. I know who I am. And if I am a freak it doesn’t have to be a bad thing, Pen. Don’t cry please.” He pleaded with her, pulling her body into his and wrapping his arms around her. She returned the hug and stood there, taking him in. The way his hands rubbed her back comforting her. The way he smelled like leather, cigarettes, weed, and something else she couldn’t quite place.
“Why don’t we go hang out at my place? Wayne’s at work and this party is kind of a dud. I have kit kaaaats.” She glanced up as he sing-songed his last statement.
“Kit Kats?” She looked at him, eyes slightly puffy but wide at the prospect of Kit Kats.
“Kit Kats. The big ones. Did you drive here? I caught a ride with Jeff. But I can tell him we’re leaving and we can just take your car home? Are you good to drive?” He stared down at her with pure adoration, not that she noticed as she pulled away looking for her car keys.
“Yeah I’m good to drive. I only had one drink. Go let Jeff know you’re leaving. I’ll meet you out front.” She stubbed her joint on the wall, and blew on the end making sure it wasn’t still lit, and then put the rest behind her ear, saving it for later. She ran up the steps back into the house, the bass of the music bumping loudly in her chest as she passed right by Billy Hargrove. Anger bubbled in her chest again but she ignored it, deciding she’d deal with him tomorrow. She ran out the front door to her car, Eddie hot on her heels. They both got into the car and he paused. Turning up the music he looked at her, “how’s that tape treating you?” With a smirk, he turned the music up even more and she reversed off the grass. Her nerves swirled in her body as she turned to him and asked.
“Which way?”
The drive was relatively short, they pulled into Forest Hills Trailer Park in about 10 minutes. While it really should’ve been a 15 minute drive, Penny had the tendency to drive like a maniac. She pulled up beside Eddie’s van and put the car in park. He stepped out and ran to the front door closing it before she could even get out of the car. Eddie cleaned frantically, grabbing all the garbage he could see in the living room and throwing it in the can in the kitchen. He ran to his room shoving piles of clothing from the floor into the closet and shutting the door tightly. He got all the garbage he could as he heard a knock on the front door. He ran with the garbage in his hands and threw it haphazardly in the can, just as he had with the living room trash. He got to the front door and smoothed himself out, opened the door with a flourish and said,
“Welcome to the castle, Princess”

Thank you so much for reading my story. I love you all. Eddie loves you all. Penny loves you all.

“Hey baby.”
Gavin was barely audible as he shifted on Hank’s couch to make room for Nines. He opened his arms and let the android lay down with his back to his chest. He wrapped an arm around Nines’ middle and nuzzled his neck.
“I couldn’t find Sixty anywhere. Are you sure you didn’t see him leave?”
“Hmm…? No…”
“I think he’s disabled his tracker. The little shit! The house keeps coming up as his last location when I search for his signal!”
“Don’t worry, babe. He knows his way back. Like our cat… If Con went missing that would be a real problem. Like if Sumo went missing. But with Six… it’s like our bitch-ass cat. She comes and goes as she pleases. We shouldn’t wait up.”
Nines rearranged his husband’s sleepy grip to be less stifling and relaxed into the cuddle.
“Hmm. You always did understand my own brothers better than me. I just can’t figure out why he was so upset earlier.”
Gavin yawned and pulled Nines closer despite having just been pushed away a little. He tended to get handsy after a few drinks.
“He should be fine now...”
Frowning, Nines twisted in the human’s grasp. He was smooched lovingly before he could articulate any response. He allowed a few messy kisses before breaking off with a quiet whine.
“Gavin, if you know where he is, just tell me. I’ll sleep better for it.”
“Babe, I have no idea-”
He broke off as a rumble came from overhead. Something scraped across the tiles on the roof and came to a stop with a muted thud. Nines looked up at (and through) the ceiling, eyes glazing over and LED spinning rapidly.
“Oh you’ve got to be kidding me.”
A detective through and through, Gavin chuckled as he easily deduced whatever Nines saw using his x-ray vision. He pressed a kiss to his husband’s throat.
“Just like us back in the day, huh?”

Allen broke away panting. He put a hand on Sixty’s chest to still him. It had been years since he’d done anything like this. Lying on top of a man’s house and making out with his son for hours like a teenager.
Their chaste first kiss had evolved into something decidedly more mature. Months of mutual pining and sexual tension spilled over effusively and now the two of them were rock hard and desperate for some kind of release.
Sixty moaned in Allen’s ear and ground against his thigh. With the way they were lying intertwined, that action also brought some much-needed friction to Allen’s groin. He sucked his breath in through his teeth.
“Sixty... just... Fuck it. Just touch me.”
“Are you sure, Cap?”
“Fuck, don’t call me that if you’re going to jerk me off!”
“Yes, sir.”
Sixty kissed him once more and undid the buttons of his jeans with ease. A hand slipped past the waistband and palmed his erection through his briefs. Impatient, Allen lifted his hips and brought both his underwear and jeans down to his thighs. Sixty’s eyes widened at the sight of the exposed and leaking cock.
Despite having very limited experience in this department, the android moved with confidence. He rolled over his captain’s body and captured his chapped lips in another deep kiss, wrapping a hand around the turgid shaft and stroking.
Allen sighed into the kiss with satisfaction and began to unzip Sixty’s trousers. He quickly found his prize and ran a thumb over the tip of the synthetic penis, producing a garble of static and glitching noises from the android.
Their wrists moved in tandem, speeding up and slowing down in a well-coordinated rhythm. Allen let his consciousness wander and allowed himself to forget that he was perched two floors above the ground. He placed all his trust in the android holding him. It wasn’t the first time he’d done so, albeit in a very different context... so it was incredibly easy.
Sixty soon felt himself get near to the close and could tell that Allen was even closer. He withdrew his hand and peeled Allen’s fingers off his own dick. Looking deep into his new lover’s eyes, Sixty lowered himself further and brought their slick cocks in direct contact with each other.
That was absolutely the right thing to do, considering the loud moan that Allen let out. The older man clapped a hand over his mouth in shock at his own reaction, but quickly recovered when Sixty spat between them and began to move. Trapped between their abdomens, their cocks slipped and slid against each other... hardening and pulsing and twitching... and then finally releasing.
LED flashing a myriad of colors and cooling fans running high, Sixty finished with a groan and fell onto the roofing tiles beside Allen. They both lay there staring at the moon… thoroughly undignified… shirts hiked up over their nipples…spent cocks dribbling onto their stomachs.
“Great job, Cap.”
“You too... bud.”

Tina arched her back and clamped her thighs over his hips as she rode him, backwards. She tossed her hair and rolled her body in ways she’d only seen in certain films. If she thought about it for too long, it felt kind of silly. Like she was just playing a part and the director would yell cut any second.
But this was real. This was not a Hollywood studio. This was her boyfriend’s bedroom and this was the sex life she had now.
She wondered whether it had anything to do with him being an android... Connor was insatiable. He wanted her all day, every day, everywhere.
She didn’t know if or how long it would last, but hell, she wasn’t one to look a gift horse in the mouth. It was the best sex of her existence and she would take however much of it she was given, especially if it came with heaps of adoration and praise and affection.
Connor jerked his hips underneath her. She got the message and picked up the pace. His hands came to rest on her stomach from behind and slid upwards slowly to cup her breasts. He held on tightly and sat up, pressing his chest against her back with enviable core strength.
Tina turned in his grip and he brought his mouth to hers. She parted her lips and invited his tongue in. He then leaned forwards and brought her crashing down onto the mattress. Another position, then.
With a series of implicit gestures, Tina relinquished the lead and passed the control back to Connor. He flipped her onto her back and hooked her legs around his waist, all the while buried deep inside and pumping ceaselessly. His deft fingers circled her clit and she knew that she’d be coming again... for the fifth time in a row.
“Hey T.”
“What?”
“I love you.”

Gavin sighed against Nines’ bare back. Falling asleep was proving difficult, given the clamour from various parts of the house. He knew his husband was wide awake too.
“Baby…”
“Shhhh.”
“Don’t act like you can sleep through all this.”
“What?”
“Your siblings making multiple trips to bone town? Plus your dad trying to out-snore his dog. It sounds like we’re on a farm here.”
Nines made a petulant noise but Gavin could tell that he was also amused.
“So what do you suggest we do?”
“Well, I’ve always said… if you can’t beat ’em… join ’em…”
Gavin scooted around on the couch a little and pressed his groin flush against Nines’ backside. A sharp hiss escaped the android.
“Really?”
“Yeah, why not?”
There was a pause (during which a series of snores and moans echoed in the living room) while Nines considered the proposition. He apparently found little objection to it and ground back against Gavin’s hardening length.
“Now we’re talking.”
Gavin gently bit down on his husband’s shoulder and pulled on the drawstrings of the sweatpants they both wore. He eased the fabric off the both of them. In no time at all, his stiffening cock was between Nines’ cheeks and his hand wrapped around Nines’ shaft.
Self-lubrication was one of the things about androids that Gavin was eternally grateful for. He gathered the drip from Nines’ tip and coaxed him to full mast, all the while rutting against the slick crease of Nines’ ass.
Their motions were easy, well-practiced.
Once they were both fully aroused, he stroked his hands over Nines’ body and guided one of his thighs up to fully expose his entrance. There was absolutely no resistance. Even in the dark, there was no hitch to any of these proceedings. They’d made love like this a hundred times before and would do it a hundred times again.
Gavin took hold of his cock, gave it a few pumps and aimed. He slowly found his mark, slipping in and bottoming out with grace. He hooked an arm around Nines’ raised leg and waited a beat, before pulling halfway out and pushing back in exactly once.
“Ohhh…”
“Is that good, baby?”
“Shhh… don’t talk.”
Gavin smiled into the side of Nines’ neck and set up a gentle rhythm with his hips. He had to go with the shallowest of thrusts if they intended to stay on the couch. But that was fine, they’d had plenty of rough, fast sex in the early days of their relationship. They weren’t missing out on anything. In fact, nowadays both of them preferred the sweeter, gentler kind of lovemaking.
Nines reached behind and cradled Gavin’s head in the crook of his arm, pulling him down for a deep kiss. He obliged easily, and for his part, used the extra room to slip his free hand around Nines’ body and grasp his cock.
Under each other’s careful ministrations, they took turns to sink into the pleasure and fall apart. Eventually, when he could hold himself back no longer, Gavin began taking all the steps to make sure Nines came first. He sinfully grazed the synthetic prostate on every thrust…caressed his chest… teased his nipples… massaged his laden balls… and pumped his cock with dedication until Nines seized up against him and came with a muted gasp.
Gavin stroked him throughout the climax and caught the ejaculate in his fingers. Without any instruction, Nines grabbed his hand and licked the mess off his digits. Keeping his breath steady, Gavin pulled out and lay flat on the couch with his flushed and wet cock in the air.
The android moved over him with absolutely no need to be asked. Nines took his husband into his mouth and swallowed down to the base of his shaft with an utterly inhuman lack of gag reflex. Gavin finished down his throat and the two of them fell back into the spooning position that they’d begun in.
They lay together quietly, catching their breath and basking in the afterglow of yet another round of happily married sex. It was so blissful that they almost forgot where they were until one of Hank’s rumbling snores resounded through the house. Nines had the presence of mind to get up and pull their sweatpants back on before both drifted off to dreamland… uninterrupted by lustful moans from the spare bedroom and heavy thudding from the roof.

Nines and Gavin adopting a baby from the hospital and naming it after Captain Allen. (Joseph Allen pls?) Canonverse uwu
//Yes!
There were times when things settled that Gavin thought about his and Richard’s future. He liked to assume they had one. It had been years since the Revolution, and Gavin liked to believe he had grown some. Richard wouldn’t have stayed other wise, he almost felt guilty for wanting more. They worked a job where nothing was certain, and coming home to the company of the love of his life and their cat’s was nice, but the house just felt empty still. It was probably an entirely human sentiment, but Gavin wanted to have a family, well, a bigger one he supposed. He had seen Richard with the kids that came into the station, underneath that cool and calculating exterior was a heart. He was amazing with kids, he knew to get down on their level both figuratively and literally. It wasn’t too uncommon to see him packing a formerly distraught kid around the station showing them things and introducing them to the officers that had time. It was the soft smile he would have that got to Gavin, that small vulnerable thing that meant all of his walls were down. His LED would be a steady blue, and it would be easy to believe that the job they did wasn’t horrible. It was on his mind enough that he talked about it, not to Richard of course, he wasn’t ready for that yet, but to the people he was closest with aside from him. Tina, Chis, Joseph; hell he’d even gone to Jeff at one point. They all seemed to agree that it was a good idea, that Richard would enjoy having a family. Though he always dodged the question of if he had brought it up to Richard yet, which was probably a pretty resounding no, but he would soon. Probably.
It came out on a night in when Gavin probably had a little more than he should have to drink, but it was weighing on him now and he hadn’t been sure he could handle it sober. A little liquid courage had never hurt anyone too badly. “What do you think about kids?” He said out of the blue as Richard was working on the dishes from early. “I don’t mind them.” Came the response, “They say what’s on their mind without worrying if its appropriate or not and they tend to tell the truth without regard for the consequences.” “Okay.” Gavin continued, “But do you like them? Like, enough to maybe have one someday?” He watched Richard’s LED fall into yellow and stay there. He was actually thinking about it and Gavin smiled against the rim of his beer bottle. This was farther than he thought he was going to get. “You’re a little less sober than I would like for this conversation, but to answer your question, I think it would be nice to raise a child with you.” Richard said as he put the last plate away and turned to face Gavin, “One of us would have to take less hours though.” Gavin nodded, though he wasn’t paying complete attention anymore, that stupid little smile was back on Richard’s face and it was distracting. That and he had agreed, Richard wanted a family too.
It was discussed in spurts over the coming months, whenever they had the time and Gavin was sober, that was one of Richard’s rules. They were not going to talk about starting a family while one of them wasn’t in the right mind; and while it sucked because Gavin could have definitely used the false courage from a couple of beers it made sense. The laws around androids adopting human kids were still a bit tricky, especially since he and Richard weren’t legally married. Not so much because either of them had been averse to it in anyway, but because neither of them had seen the point, everyone that needed to know knew they were together and those that didn’t were quick to learn. Filling out the forms was a hassle because they needed documented proof that they were domestic partners, because apparently ‘this asshole has been living with me for eight years’ didn’t cut it. So Gavin had to go digging through his tax documents because Richard being the damned super computer he is did his in his head. “This is why you always request a tax form Nines.” Gavin said when he came back to the bed with that year’s tax folder, “So you can have nice things.” “You sound like Hank.” Richard remarked. “That’s it, I want a divorce.” Gavin said with a slight laugh. “I think your forgetting a few steps there Detective.” Richard said with a smile. “Yeah yeah whatever.” He said as he got back to work filling out the forms.
They didn’t hear anything for close to six months and if Gavin was honest he was starting to lose hope. The call came on one of their off weekends, there was a baby that was up for adoption. The lady on the other end of the line said she knew their preferred age range was toddler, but he seemed like a good fit for them. He raised an eyebrow as he looked at Richard wanting to know what he thought about it. “We could handle an infant Gavin. I could take leave first since I don’t biologically need sleep.” Richard’s LED was on blue despite the clear thought he was putting into this, and Gavin chalked it up to excitement, “I think its a good idea.” Gavin nodded and turned his attention back to the call, “We’ll be there in an hour.” Richard chose to drive because Gavin was having a moment. They made it well inside an hour, but the estimate was nice to have given how Detroit traffic could be. Then again Richard was also a top of the line android and could get away with more assertive driving than most humans. Gavin glared at him as he got out, “If we are coming home with a kid I am driving, I never want to go through that again.” He only smiled back, “I’ll be more careful next time. I just assumed you wanted to get here quickly.” Gavin didn’t respond as they walked toward the hospital.
Richard knew the moment that Gavin saw the kid that this was it, he had such a soft look to him as he took the bundle from the waiting nurse. Richard found himself smiling at the sight. Gavin came over to him with the boy in his arms. His scans showed the child to be healthy and soundly asleep. He was a few months old and apparently used to and content with being passed around. “He’s beautiful Gavin.” Richard said quietly. He was awed by the small delicate life, and a little nervous if he was honest. Kids were resilient, but babies weren’t, he had no doubt he would do fine, but there was always the risk. Though even then it didn’t lessen the warmth in his chest. “What do you think?” Gavin asked once he had handed the bundle to Richard. For a rare moment in his short life Richard had to search for words, he had plenty of thoughts on the matter and even preconstructions of the boy growing up, but not words. “I think we should take him with us.” He said after what could have been a worrying stretch of silence. Gavin beamed up at him. The paperwork probably would have gone more smoothly if Richard had been the one to do it, but Richard had found himself unwilling to let go of little Joseph Allen Reed. The newest member of their small family and one of the best things that had happened to Richard, the other of which was signing their dreams into reality.

Meg my beloved <3
What type of pet would (your favorite) glee characters have (when they were children or/and when they have grown up)?
Hope everything is going well 🧡
Thank you for the ask Myle!! :D
Kurt: I feel like when Kurt’s an adult he would own a hairless cat maybe 🦧 for no other reason than he would love dressing them up. He also has a habit of taking care of every stray cat he sees. So every night he has like 20 random stray cats he feeds buy his apartment. His landlord tried kicking him out over it once </3
Burt also had a golden retriever before Kurt was born (he gives off the dad with golden retriever™️ vibes), so the dog was very old, but Kurt loved him when he was like a baby-6yo
Mercedes: Her fake chihuahua 🦧 but also I feel as though she just isn’t a pet person with how busy she is. Though when she was growing up, she had a Shar Pei dog, which she loved very much. 🥰
Tina: Goth Tina would own a black cat for the aesthetic, but also because of how mistreated they are. She would want to make sure they have a safe home, and spoil them very much. Every Halloween you bEt she has a very well thought out spooky photo shoot with them.
Rachel: She likes the idea of pets, but in all honestly she couldn’t even keep a plant alive. Let alone an animal 🦧 when she’s in high school she has a fish tank with a goldfish named Barbra Streisand 😭😭
Sebastian: This man is a hazard to society, thus he does not have any pets. His parents wanted to buy one once, but realized they don’t need one when their son is already a wild animal himself 🦧
Quinn: Nope, they are messy and a hassle, and she despise people who obsess over their dogs/cats, she refuses to become one of them.
That is...until she’s in her early 20’s and finds a stray cat on her doorstep. She now has to accept that she’s her own worst nightmare </3
Marley: In high school and a bit into college, Marley owned a Budgie. Her mom could always hear her squawking back at it through her walls 😭
Unique: Unique didn’t have any pets growing up, but when she got older (early 20’s probably) she decided to buy two Chinchillas :D she invites Marley over so they can mess when them together 🦧
Sam: He wanted a bearded dragon when he was younger, but his parents did not approve. So that crushed that dream </3
once when he was older though, someone said he looked like Ron from Kim Possible, so he bought a naked mole rat named Rufus that he carries around. Mercedes hates it 🦧

‘Nines, that was the last bag, come on! We’re going to be late!’ Gavin closed the trunk of his car and looked over to where Nines was standing right between the house and the car. ‘Tina will look after the cats alright, she loves the little beasts, don’t worry’, he tried to comfort him, opening the car door and leaning against it. ‘We’ll come back, and they are at least a kilo heavier’, he joked. Nines straightened his back, but avoided his eyes as he walked towards the car. ‘Hey, what’s wrong?’, the Detective asked softly. ‘I thought you looked forward to this.’ ‘I do!’, Nines quickly replied. ‘It’s just my first time leaving Detroit. I… I’m not sure what awaits me.’ ‘That’s what travelling is about’, Gavin explained and stepped past the door to take his hand. ‘Don’t worry. You will love it.’ ‘I hope so’, he mumbled far too insecure for a war machine and entered the car.
Gavin sat down too, leaning over to press a kiss to Nines’ cheek and start the engine afterwards. ‘Come on. Let’s go on a road trip!’ He handed Nines a case full of music CDs and gestured him to choose one. ‘Passenger decides the music’, he explained and started pulling out of their driveway. The android frowned at the disks, contemplating whether he should tell Gavin he could always just connect to the car and play whatever song he wanted. But he guessed this was part of the experience, so he pulled out one of them without researching band names or titles written on it. ‘Excellent choice’, Gavin cheered as the first heavy guitar riffs came up. Nines couldn’t really say something to that as he had no idea what else he could have picked, but seeing Gavin grin and drum his fingers on the steering wheel he found he didn’t really care if it made his human happy.
They drove through the streets and Nines traced their route with his GPS. He got increasingly worried as they made it onto the highway and finally left Detroit. ‘All good, love?’, Gavin asked, seeing the red flashing LED. ‘Yes, just… I lost connection to an android network.’ ‘That means?’, the man asked concerned. ‘My scans won’t be as effective anymore as I can only detect what I see. I can’t supplement it with information from the internet or databanks.’ ‘Should we turn around?’ Nines thought about it. It was their first vacation since the revolution as work had kept them busy with anti-android crimes, retaliations and the rising Red-Ice trades. He had looked forwards to it and still did. He would spend time with his human somewhere neither of them had been before, just the two of them. What about that wasn’t exciting? ‘No. It’s just weird loosing a function you never paid much attention to.’ ‘I can imagine’, Gavin hummed, unsure what to say. ‘I guess that at least makes us equal?’, Nines contemplated. ‘Neither of us knows Providence. It’s a new place for you and I have no way of acquiring more information than you could.’ ‘Heh, a full-on human experience, then?’ ‘You could say so.’
They drove down the road and the longer they were on their way, the less worried Nines became. If anything, partially loosing his scanning abilities made it even more interesting. He simply couldn’t know some things and others passed too fast to get even a little bit of information. ‘How do you live like this?’, Nines couldn’t help but ask as he could see buildings to his right that might have belonged to a town called Sweaburg, but could as well be something entirely else. ‘How do you live, seeing things and having no idea what something is?’ Gavin laughed. ‘Learning to ignore what isn’t important, I guess? I mean, do I have to know everything to survive. And it can make it all the more interesting if you do find out someday. You can always learn something new, even if you lived your whole life in just one city.’ Nines frowned and tried to understand. ‘I mean, isn’t it boring knowing everything? What about curiosity and the joy of discovery?’ The android had to nod to that. ‘That’s why I like our work this much. And I’m starting to like this new perspective, too.’
He found himself smiling as he watched the world pass by, details appearing and disappearing before his programs could even try to gather information. He had become a passive onlooker and it was a weirdly relaxing experience when at the same time his eyes darted from one fixing point to the next trying to take in everything at once. Gavin found he had a difficult time concentrating on the road when Nines sat in the passenger seat almost pressing his nose to the glass like a school child on their first but ride. Sometimes he wished he could take photos like the android could, just to remember this sight forever.
They had to stop for gas soon and Nines took over for the rest of the ten-hour ride. Gavin, understandably exhausted, had tried to stay awake, but when they were an hour away from their destination, he was peacefully sleeping leaned against the door. Only as Nines left the highway and had to stop at a red light, the man woke up again. ‘Oh, we’re already there?’, he asked and sat up. ‘Sorry, I’m just really tired.’ ‘Our hotel is just down the road. Then you can sleep properly.’ ‘Nah, I planned to go take a look at the city first!’ ‘Gavin, I doubt we will get anything else done. And it’s supposed to be a vacation.’ ‘Okay, I’ll take a short nap then and afterwards we go for a walk in the evening, but that’s the only compromise I’m willing to accept.’ Nines sighed. ‘Fine.’
They checked in to their hotel and went to their room to stow away their luggage. Gavin’s nap ended up being longer than expected and with an amused huff, Nines slipped under the blanket too to join his human in this unknown place.
-
Maybe it had been the night spent in stasis, but when Nines rose to see Gavin in the light of the rising sun in this foreign room, he could barely contain the happiness that he felt. No deadline, no case that had to be solved, no clear mission to follow. Just himself and Gavin in a city neither of them knew; time reset to a new schedule counting down the days of their vacation. It was almost… liberating.
He snuggled closer to Gavin and wallowed in his warmth. The human grinned and turned around, still sleepy but slowly waking up. ‘Morning, Nines.’ ‘Morning darling.’ Gavin buried his head in his shoulder. ‘Jeez, Nines, if you keep this up I’ll never leave the bed.’ ‘We can do that if you want’, the android murmured, kissing the top of his head. ‘Nah. Let’s get ready for breakfast and then go see the city. I have something special planned for tonight and you can’t research it! It will truly be a surprise.’ ‘I can still do normal research via the internet, Gavin. Just slower.’ ‘Don’t you dare’, Gavin laughed, pointing his finger at his nose, before standing up and getting ready for the day.
After leaving the hotel, they walked through the streets without any real plan in mind. Nines followed Gavin, who seemed to take random turns and stopped at random places. Watching the people around them and the different sorts of buildings, Nines was quickly feeling weirdly at home. In the afternoon they stopped at a park near the river and Gavin got himself something to eat at the many food carts around. They sat down at a bench right at the riverfront and enjoyed the sunny day. ‘This is perfect’, Nines couldn’t help but voice the content he felt at watching the water lazily pass by, a few ducks swimming on it. A few joggers passed them, faces without names for the first time in Nines’ short life. ‘Got over that lack of information?’, Gavin asked, mouth still half full of the hot dog. ‘I’m actually considering shutting off that program completely when not on the job’, he shrugged. ‘You were right it is more interesting to not know and wonder. If I really need to know something, I can always switch it on again.’ ‘Nice. Good to know it’s not too bad for you.’ Nines looked down on Gavin and put his arm around him. ‘It’s never around you.’ ‘Aw you damn romantic android. I would hate you if I didn’t love you.’ ‘Sure.’ Nines looked out over the river and cocked his head. ‘Gavin, what did you wanted to show me?’ ‘In the evening, love. Has to be dark for it. Patience.’
At least time passed quickly with the human around to guide him around town. As the sun set, they returned to a different part of the river. Nines frowned, as he saw several people blocking his view on the water. ‘Gavin, what-‘ ‘Shh, come on, follow me. I looked this up beforehand, there should be a good spot over here.’ Gavin took his hand and pushed through the crowd, not even thinking of apologising. Pulling Nines right to the front, the android was indeed blown-away. In all his preconstructions, he hadn’t expected this: Several bonfires were lit on the water and lit up the walls in soft orange and hot white yellow. Music played and the masses stood and watched as people tended to the fires and gondolas passed through the flames. ‘Gavin, what is this?’, he asked in surprise. ‘They call it Waterfire. A festival that began as art is now celebrated annually. ‘Thought it would be something fun to be part of. Do you like it?’ Nines couldn’t pull his eyes away from the reflections on the water, the thousands of people at the shore and the flickering fires cracking on the surface of the water. The smell of burning wood filled the air and managed to overpower the different smells from the food stands. ‘Gavin, I… I never experienced something similar. Can we… Does this stretch the whole river? Can we see all of it? Can we ride one of the gondolas? I… For how long did they celebrate this? Why-‘ Gavin’s loving smile made him stop, feeling awkward for asking so many questions and letting his excitement overwhelm him. But Gavin only rose to his toes and pulled Nines head down into a kiss. ‘For you? Everything.’
