So ya girl (and some other staff) are in the local paper as well as having been on BBC radio a month or so ago. It's...interesting. OTOH the Mortifying Ordeal of Being Known and all that, and on the other the satisfaction of actually being recognised for something I'm doing, with my name and everything, and not being an invisible hand, an imperceptible agent of administration and bureaucracy and all the fiddly little paperwork things that nobody but archivists cares about until Things stop working how they ought.
Above it all, the sheer weirdness and incomprehensibility of the idea that anyone would know who I am or give a damn what I think, about anything. Even to myself, I feel like I'm functionally a non-entity, you know? Like I barely exist. I have no idea how many times I've thought, if I disappeared, who would notice? So it's novel and exciting and really a bit terrifying to suddenly have a footprint and a voice, or something.
I think I thought I was gonna be a real Somebody, when I was young and stupid, but it's been a long, long time since then. I can't remember when it stopped; all I know is that younger version of me feels like another person and another life. I'm never going to be the kind of Nobel-Prize-winning legend I aspired to be as a child (I mean, seriously, what was I on), but it feels like I'm skirting the line from Nobody into Somebody and man alive is it freaky.

Have another nonsense snippet! IDK I just wanted to write Billy Batson and Captain Cold bc he’s on my list of villain/ antihero/ dubious influence that would adore this lil magical street rat.
"This isn't what I had in mind when you invited me to Star City, you know." Billy couldn't quite reign in the resignation, the sigh not so much tired as aware he should've known better.
Captain Cold adjusted his hold on Billy, kept him secured under his arm like he was a sack of cash or jewels, and not a literal child he brought with to a heist. "I didn't invite you, lil scarlett, I kidnapped you."
"I was trying to be generous here."
"Don't do me any favors, or you'll smear my carefully crafted reputation."
"The only reputation you have is your enjoyment to hear yourself talk, Lenny," came the overly chipper, yet sarcastic voice of Gold Glider. She held her gold gun aloft on her shoulder, something shiny and most assuredly stolen in her hand.
Leonard Snart gave his sister a significant look that Billy had come to know as the 'haha you are very funny' look, but somehow with more attitude despite the blank expression. The Snarts were very good at a variety of silent expressions. "Come now, you have better insults than that."
"Tell him his plan is poorly thought out!" Billy piped up. Much to the delight of Lisa and chagrin of Len.
"Insulting the man that kidnapped you isn't well thought out, kid."
"Hey! Being kidnapped means I get to insult you the entire time! If you're using me as an accessory to a crime, I should have a say,” as though Billy would ever actually want to be involved, but he knew by this point he was along for the ride. There was a reason Len kept a hold on him and it was not entirely to ensure Billy’s safety.
“No, being kidnapped means you get exactly zero say. You’re supposed to look sad and distressed, can’t you turn on those big blues and get the water works going?”
The look Billy shot up at him made Lisa whistle in appreciation.
“Look at that, the kid is actually learning something from you!”
“Lise...”
“Alright, alright, I’ll go check on Mick and make sure he’s not setting any paintings on fire. Try to teach the kid something else while you got him!”
The paired shouting of “I’m not a dog!” and “He’s not my mentee!” only got a lazy wave as she strutted away. Whatever the kid got from this, Lisa didn’t particularly care. He wasn’t in danger and not for reals upset, so the two boys spending time together was a good thing all around. Her brother got antsy when he didn’t bother any of his favorite good doers.
“We could have literally done anything else today, you know. Could’ve enjoyed the museum without stealing from it! Or gone to the park or the movies-”
“As riveting as those suggestions are, none of them spark the true Star City experience as a good ol heist with yours truly,” Leonard had walked into the next room and proceeded to freeze a glass container and its security sensors, hitting it just right to break apart and leave the golden wristlet free to grab. “Besides, do ancient Egyptian artifacts truly belong to this place?”
Billy was about to open his mouth to tell Len that how museums work and function probably involved a lot of paperwork and handling objects between hands, but then he realized he also didn’t actually know who owned all of the stuff there. Especially the older pieces that were probably stolen from sites long ago anyway. Billy closed his mouth, and Len made a triumphant noise.
“Lemme see!” Those crafty, nimble hands of his swiped the bracelet before the bad could close, and Billy inspected the item closely. It didn’t feel magical, but it definitely felt old. Or at least he thought it did. “Hmmm...”
“I won’t reprimand you for that, so long as you plan on keeping it.” As if Len would be entirely too proud if he got Billy to steal something.
Billy said nothing to rebuke that.
“I sincerely hope you’re not giving kiddie lessons on stealing, Cold,” came a sudden familiar voice behind them, right as the air in the room became charged with the sort of energy only the speed force could conjure. “Thievery 101 shouldn’t go on his resume for school.”
It was like Len’s entire face lit up, he smiled wide and turned on his heels with a dramatic pivot. “Oh, don’t be absurd, Scarlett. This is at least Heist 105, the kid isn’t a total newbie.”
The Flash crossed his arms, not at all buying it, but that was part of the game there - the banter. Though this particular situation was a new one. Barry had been aware that Len and Billy knew each other, but seeing one hoist the other under his arms in the midst of an afterhours heist was still not something he had been prepared to deal with. “The kid isn’t going to steal artifacts for you.”
A red gloved hand gestured out for the golden wristlet.
Blue eyes glanced up at the Flash, and then back down to the artifact. He made a noise of conflicted contemplation.
“Billy...” The Flash began, somewhat stern, but mostly surprised and unsure at the turn of events.
Billy made the noise again and held onto the bracelet tighter.
“Hah! Sorry, little scarlet is taking my classes after all,” Len crowed.
Barry made a displeased sound, “You’re being a bad influence on him, is what you’re doing!”
“No need to be jealous,” Captain Cold cooed, absolutely delighted by it all. “You’re still my favorite crime fighting idiot in tights, Scarlet. The kid’s just on my team now.”
“I’m not taking it for myself!” Billy felt the need to explain himself. He didn’t steal unless it was right thing to do, and sometimes it was! But he also really did not want Barry to be disappointed in him. “If it’s from Ancient Egypt it should go to someone of that culture, right? Since it was probably just taken from the ground or a burial site...”
“Uh, news flash, kid, no one alive from that yesteryear is running around - puns intended.” Whatever Billy’s reasoning, Len was still counting this as win.
“Well, I mean, there’s one person...”
“Billy.” This time Flash used a tone that was definitely stern and concerned.
“What! He’s actually from Ancient Egypt, and--”
“No.”
“But if there’s anyone who would have a claim--”
“That’s not how this works, Billy!”
“Now, hold on, let the kid speak--”
“Stay outta this, Len!”
“I’m giving it to Teth Adam.”
And for once, of their own volition, both The Flash and Captain Cold agreed, “Billy, no!”

I wanna say that I absolutely love your post apocalypse ranchers au. Theoretically I love post apocalypse stories, but most ones end up just being 'everyone sucks and is terrible to each other all the time' which i hate. But yours just has all the community and inherent goodness of people that I really wish was in more post apocalypse media. (I also love the layout, smthn about the little portrait scenes with a few lines' description is a really nice format to me. it's like a blog almost)
idk if this is coherent but basically i love the post apocalypse au and I so wish there were other stories like it out there
I apparently had even more thoughts on this than I anticipated even after forcing myself not to talk about most of it, so borderline essay below...
It's much more common in video games but I get what you mean.
Honestly I think it's an issue of American apocalypse media, and the general intent people go into with the genre. Usually when you're writing a man-made apocalypse story it's to say something about society, and if it's a man-made apocalypse you can generally assume it's not something positive, especially given the sort of person that type of story would attract.
The American aspect I won't get into cause that might be a bit too spicy, but I'll just say if you look at fiction from places with more socialist or collectivist attitudes (that's not specifically influenced by American media or trashy escapist fantasy for edgy teenagers) you find those qualities depicted more. In American apocalypse stories altruism is more of a notably heroic trait for the MC.
(I think the concept of an apocalypse might also just much more terrifying and unknown to North American audiences. Things like relics outside of museums and casually decorating the scenery with ruins is more common in Eurasian media. Ancient history, and the implications thereof, is much more tangible there. I don't think an American version of digimon adventures would ever conceive the digital world as it's presented without drawing attention to it as something tragic and sombre, for example. Probably a whole essay could be written why but this is already too long.)
I think it's also because it doesn't really match well with action and horror genres, which is what apocalypse stories are usually paired with. Apocalypse ranchers is a survival slice or life, and cozy, and the format isn't very conducive to complex action, so there's no need to include it.
In an action story you focus on the action, and physical conflict drives action, and in a horror story the conflict has to scare you, usually involving tragedy. In a survival story the minutia is more important, and in a slice of life the conflict is more mundane. So, I guess that's to say there's more breathing room in RAAU to depict the more realistic daily interactions with people that are ostensibly int he same situation as the ranchers - average people who happened to survive.
I do understand that frustration though. I write a lot of post-apocalypse fiction myself, and this is usually how I would write characters acting simply because that's how I would act, if not out of altruism, then out of practicality.
Um, the restaurant for example. The ranchers are on foot and already overladen with their winter supplies, and they've come to a place that's already established a chain of charity. It's more food than they will need before they're likely to find even more food, and it will be more of a burden to carry it all. In a space that's already established itself as a charitable one people are more likely to return the favour. Think about all those stories you hear about people in fast food drive thrus paying for the person behind them for dozens of cars in a row. Of course there's always gonna be someone who breaks the chain, but that's one person in however many people before them, and it's not necessarily because they're a villain.
(There's also a pretty blatant cottagecore/solarpunk wish fulfillment aspect to the apocalypse fiction I like to write not gonna lie.)
Anyways, I guess that's all to say that you should keep your eye out cause there is other apocalypse fiction out there with that sort of characterization of humanity. Shaun of the Dead, Dr. Stone, and Girls Last Tour come to mind off the top of my head. As far as video games are concerned, lots of survival an apocalypse games, especially open worlds, like minecraft, 7 days to die, no place like home, my time at portia, cattails, plague inc, and niche tend of have a more compassionate setting, even when it looks more bleak and depressing on the surface. They have to for game balance. (multiplayer can't be accounted for, though)
At the end of the day, apocalypse stories really live or die on empathy whether even the creator knows it or not. There's a reason ants so efficiently deal with cordyceps attacks while humans struggle to imagine all of humanity collapsing if it leapt to us, I think. I think where they god wrong is seeing that as a bad thing the characters have to overcome.

Do think you can make more fanfics of Kenny and or jade your like the only person who actually writes for characters in the show (from) and I feel like they just need so much more love 💕🥲 I literally love your account and all the theories
dhsjdhshd thank you so much for sending this ask !! they DO need so much more love both in-universe and out... specially kenny rn. jade is somehow kind of making friends... we can be proud of him. kind of <3 im so glad you like my account i'm always so worried about spamming but my heart is so full rn 🥺💝
i'm definitely gonna be writing more for them! i have an embarrassing amount of drafts i should probably polish up a bit and post. here's some headcanons in the meantime
kenny and jade: where they take you on a date 🥂🎆
jade
out of fromville
he looves to flaunt his wealth and is a child at heart so on your first dates he'd probably take you to places that are both expensive and fun like a hot air balloon ride or a premium pass visit to a theme park, bonus points if there's tech toys involved like those star wars spaceship simulator VR pods, or idk, racecars
also!!! escape rooms
sometimes tobey tags along because the stuff is fun and you just have to deal with that. he does make sure leave you some alone time though
on your 4th or 5th date you ask him if you can just hang out at home and he looks heartbroken like you don't like our dates?? jade i'm just exhausted
he kind of has a difficult time accepting that you like him enough to want to just spend the day with him, but he's pretty touched when it sinks in that you do
you order some food, curl up on the couch and binge some tv show or movie series that either of you likes, it could be some old favourite or something that's been sitting on your to-watch list for a while. i just know that jade is a jurassic park kind of guy and no one can change my mind
all the time he's just thinking how nice and natural it all feels and how easily he could get used to having you around more often <3
in the town
he would talk a lot about where he wants to take you when you get out, but if confronted with the thought of going on a date while in there, he'd be like—what the hell do you mean, there's nothing to do in here
you tease him a little bit like come on, where's that imagination you keep talking about? be creative. you'll come up with something for sure
now it's a challenge. and he tries. he really tries. but nothing feels impressive or datey enough, considering where he'd like to take you if he could
you ask him to see the notebook he's been writing (and sketching) the ideas on and you can't help but laugh. jade, literally a picnic would've been just fine
but you make sure to show him how touched you are that he was putting so much effort into trying to make something really special for you. he gets lots of love and many hugs and kisses as a reward <3
kenny
out of fromville
kenny loves café and museum dates, though he'd be a bit worried that he's not smart enough to impress you if you go to a museum. he just really likes going because all the stuff is cool, but he's not one of those guys that can tell you more than the guide on any given tour. he might try to prepare and do a bit of research beforehand to try to show off though :)
it's very easy to tell that he didn't just happen to know all that stuff, but nonetheless it's incredibly cute
bonus points if you are the kind of person that can tell you more than the guide on any given tour. you'd have to correct him on some stuff. he'd be a bit embarrassed but his crush on you would only get bigger and bigger with that
if he wants to go for something a bit bigger or special he might ask if you want to book one of those weekends that you can spend at an apple orchard or a pumkin farm in the fall, it would be really sweet and he'd take the cutest pics of you <3
in town
his go-to would be a picnic in the nicest patch of woods that he can find. it's an easy choice because he's big on picnics in general, no matter where you are
he would pick some flowers for you and do his best to help you feel at ease. if you're new, you may be a bit worried about straying from the town even just a little bit, but he knows the place really well and he'd reassure you that the woods are safe as long as the sun is out
it'd be worth it when the knowledge of where you are begins to fade away. once you can no longer see colony house or the town, you start feeling like you could be on a normal hike, and that feels really nice
kenny would have changed out of his deputy uniform and into his nicest clothes for this and your heart would have nearly jumped out of your chest when you saw him looking like that for the first time <3<3

Not that you asked.
Couldn't make myself board my train yesterday, and so delayed my arrival home until the middle of the week. I'm feeling a bit anxious about it, like I'm being too self-indulgent (and my wallet is echoing the same sentiment), but I'm tryna rationalize with a) I am teaching online classes RN, and have several more starting in a few weeks, and so am actively making money b) I was asked to teach a face to face course with the promise, that if I did, I'd be given as many online sections as I prefer and c) It's a long weekend, and I'd rather spend it in the city then on my way home. Today I'm ganna do a nice long wandering walk by the water, come back to the hotel and get a swim in, and be in bed by early evening to watch my Bravo shows :D.
-
I need a minute to parse my experience of being back home (or home adjacent, Idk where home is). I stayed with BF (J) for the first part of my trip. It was fun in a lot of different ways: we went to a butterfly museum and to the top of mt.sugaloaf, the beach, walkin, one night got high AF with the whole family and decided to watch Pee Wee's Big Adventures. The way J's mom said PeeWee; her husbands high giggling; the fact that we were all watching PeeWee made me laugh and laugh and laugh. They are weird people and I love that about them.
J and I got into it, though. At brunch, she pointed out a perceived trait of mine but articulated it in a very cruel way. It felt exactly like how Y used to make me feel: small and stupid. She apologized and admitted that she'd "channeled y" via her comment, and felt terrible. The disagreement encouraged us to communicate clearly about it, to listen and hear each other. I initially felt glad that we'd discussed it, but began to feel this pervasive sense that I was being watched, judged and evaluated for my behavior throughout. I felt uncomfortable. I also felt uncomfortable with the way J talks to her youngest sister. Again, it reminds me exactly how Y would talk to me. I'd argue that J is emotionally abusive to her sister, and it was uncomfortable to bear witness to.
Loving people is hard: J & I talk every day, we have a fun and supportive relationship, she has been beyond supportive about my divorce. She's done some interpersonal work that I'm really proud of, she's incredibly goofy and funny, etc. Yet being around her after the first two days became uncomfortable, and I'm not sure what to do or how to process those tensions.
-
Met another friend in the city, and this also felt uncomfortable to me. We were really close for many, many years but have started to drift. I just. I'll say this. I will not be a receptacle for anyone's envy or jealousy. I am not in competition with anyone.
-
I have a complex relationship to/with relationships and people in general. A part of me really pines to be in and with connection to others. Another part of me feels drained by the presence of others. I noted, while being in the presence of J and her family, how much people talk about each other (especially family members gossiping about other family members). I sometimes deeply miss having a family, but this dynamic reminded me that much of it often involves (again) being gossiped about or judged. Not having a family affords me a unique freedom: one that saddens me and liberates me at the same time.
-
Kate Bolick writes, in Spinster: Making a Life of One's Own, "I built, then, my own kingdom according to me own laws, and when the sun beat down, it beat down only on me, and when my feet acclimated to the freezing water, it was my resilience that made this so. My experience of being alone was total."
My Big Solo trip has felt a manifestation of the above: I am buoyed by my own curiosities; led by my singular adventuring: very much alone, both saddened and hopeful by being expelled beyond the containment of friendship, family, marriage and something bigger than myself.

ok i need to rant again. when i was actually ON THE TRIP almost exactly 4 years ago (again, it was an educational trip organized thru a berlin based socialist youth organization) I literally had NOOO IDEA about palestine, like yeah I have heard the name before sometimes but I thought it existed CENTURIES AGO like no fucking joke I will admit this. in Germany they don’t teach you about this in school or in the media, ESPECIALLY due to germanys history, world war two and the holocaust you carry a sort of blame that’s passed on from generation to generation - it’s only been like 80 years too it might sound long ago but it really isn’t. you think oh israel is the jewish state and it has to be right after all germany did to jewish people, no further questions asked. before i never ever educated myself bc when I got old enough to watch and understand news that did involve Palestine, like in 2k14 i remember Gaza was big on the news with violent images and I was horrified just believing everything i heard and saw i distinctly remember googling where is Gaza bc i saw footage on the news and being scared but downright relieved when i saw its not close to germany (dumb) and I just believed the reports on tv. i didnt really use the internet then as much, i had no social media except Facebook and this blog at that point. Man I was 17 and in high school i didnt care for anything outside my small bubble bc I didn’t have to, being a privileged western child. So fast forward to late 2k19 in the project i was still hanging out at at the time we got the offer for the „israel travel“ and a lot of people wanted to go and I literally just succumbed to peer pressure imma be so honest. Everyone wanted to go so I did too, i didn’t wanna stay home. i just thought ohh i have not flown since 2003 and 300 euros for a two week trip i can actually afford this too for fckn once and there were too many people interested and too little spots so there was a Tombola and my name got drawn so that was literally the reason I went. And i usually pride myself with very good memory and recollection but those two weeks are honestly a BLUR to me like idk if it was the stress and excitement of the traveling itself but i wish i sometimes had listened more carefully, had already known what I know now and been able to ask more questions and watch and listen more closely. we did stay with Arab guest families in tamra for a week of the trip, the other half in Tel Aviv (i got wasted with the hostel staff after having to be freed aka 2 doors kicked down in my room the first evening we were there bc the doorhandle in the bathroom broke i was in trauma and then was mutuals on ig with the hostels chef until 2k21 when israel bombed gaza and there were also rockets from Gaza to Tel Aviv in response and he turned out to be Zionist so I unfollowed then) and then for the last few days we were staying in two air bnbs in jerusalem. We celebrated new years in haifa with a Christian Arab family that invited us. we did visit a kibbutz on New Year’s Day bc someone from our groups grandma was living there since 48 (yep back then i just thought oh wow that’s amazing now I would view this a lot more critically) which also got us an exclusive guide around the kibbutz which was just on the border to lebanon and seeing the bunkers was eerie but I understand it now that I got into the history involving Lebanon too. we visited several museums like ghetto fighters and yad vashem. which dont get me wrong im glad we did, it’s an important part of history. it was a „both side“ experience and I literally didn’t even realize there was a Palestinian side to it then. Like genuinely it wasn’t really made clear how this all came to be Israel. They showed us a map pre-1948 vs. now but how did it get so big i didnt know. What zionists are. What settlements are. What the IDF is (by now let’s just call it IOF) I just remember the second day in Tel Aviv someone told us israel has only existed since 1948 and I was like lol what like baffled how new it actually is. Dude it’s the first time I heard about that.
It was only a few months after the trip that i one day randomly started to read up on the history, like literally starting out on kids websites bc growing up i only ever just heard „it’s complicated“ making it seem like the „middle east conflict“ as they liked to call it was sooo hard to understand and you had to be sooo smart and diplomatic to have an opinion on it. and after reading up suddenly stuff I saw but didn’t question on the trip started to make sense. The huge checkpoint we went through going into jerusalem, our car full of Germans basically being waved right through without any control while i saw other cars being emptied out completely by heavily armed soldiers. We took a teen girl from Tamra to Jerusalem with us bc she liked to come along and then there were problems suddenly with BOTH our air bnb apartments and we asked the staff if we could accommodate our suitcases somewhere and just go explore the old city instead of waiting around blocking the entire lobby. first they said no you have an Arab with you (I didn’t even understand what they meant by that) then came around and let us do it after all at least. Dude she was literally a 15 yr old like 5‘3“ teenage girl. Why one of the guys from our group was detained and questioned at the airport for like 3 hours because he was born in Syria (had a German pass tho but anyway). And when we wanted to travel back the group guide prepped us for questioning and made sure we all had straight answers which I also didn’t understand the reason for - I wasn’t one of the people being asked questions but someone did truthfully tell Airport staff what we did during our stay and that we spent a week with Arab guest families and after that several suitcases SEEM to have been rummaged through (and I know bc I packed mine soooo neatly bc I bought baklava on the market the day before to bring my family and it was smashed like flattened) we did get into a storm when changing flights in Istanbul so idk maybe the suitcases really were just thrown around but for real it wouldn’t surprise me if they did control us after that.
Anyway I posted stories throughout the trip to my ig back then and just went with the first location tag that was suggested to me and looking back now, it’s all „…, israel“ when i was actually on occupied land (tel aviv jaffa haifa akka…) and I HATE IT ☺️ I can’t change it back now obviously. I don’t wanna delete the stories from my highlight tho, even tho it does make me feel kinda guilty, bc i see it as part of my journey. Quite literally. I honestly wish I could teleport back now being more educated about the situation and ask more questions, talk to more Palestinian people (like the guest families). Would I do such a trip again? Not as long as the destination on the ticket is called only israel. I genuinely hope I can visit Palestine again tho someday. But this time for real real.

Hi! I'm a big fan of your account, and I think you are really underrated. Tbh, you're the only reason why I keep tumblr, so I always look forward to your post! Anyways, this is my submission for the NH matchup.
Hobbies: art (drawing and painting), writing, reading, cooking, and playing otome games. But I think most people would associate me with art. I also like to listen to YouTube videos or podcasts when making art or playing games.
My MBTI is INFJ and my enneagram wing is type 6. I'm generally a shy and introverted person, but I can also be talkative when I am comfortable.
Likes: Cats, call ducks, milk boba tea, big fluffy clouds and blue skies but also cool rainy weather, giving gifts, and my favorite colour is purple 💜
Dislikes: Thunder and lightning, hot weather, and not having enough time to indulge in my hobbies
Thanks! Hope you have a nice day 💖
askjalksjkf you're so kind
i ship you with....
Lucas!
❧ i'm gonna start with the mbti thing; it was kinda tricky cuz i had to figure out what each of the boys' mtbi's would be and i determined that lucas would likely be an enfp, although i'd say he's more ambiverted than extroverted. infj and enfp is a very solid match apparently, idk i don't know much about mbti lol
❧ lucas would totally get down with the fact that you're an artist, he just gives the vibes that he would love going to art museums and galleries. he's so supportive of all your pieces, even the ones you think are garbage. if you're ok with it, he'll find a place to hang up every single one of your artworks, his house ends up turning into your own art gallery
❧ if you let him he'd love to read your writing, he feels as if it's a way to find out what goes on inside that lovely mind of yours. he'll even suggest taking your scripts to a book binding shop so you can have your own book!
❧ he's not an avid reader, but i could see the two of you going on little dates that involve going to bookstores or reading a book together at home; it could either be the two of you reading the same book or two totally different books. if he finds something funny in his book while y'all are reading, he'd totally read it aloud to you. and if he reads a book he knows you'll like, he'll annotate it for you by underlining quotes he likes, leaving witty comments in the margins, and highlighting parts that remind him of you <3
❧ if you do end up getting some of your writings printed into book form, he'd totally annotate your work as well. he'll mark the parts that he enjoys and write his thoughts, basically he'll give you feedback
❧ you two would take turns cooking meals for one another, although y'all end up helping each other and making the meals together. you guys would have a little wooden box of recipes that you'd like to try out someday written on the cutest little cards, and there's a separate box of all the recipes you've tried and loved
❧ if he was in our world he'd probably be indifferent to otome games. he's omniscient right? kinda like how 707 from mystic messenger knows he's in a game, lucas was aware of mc choosing other routes, so i feel like mans would relate to the tragic character in whatever otome game you play give me some recommendations btw if you're not too shy about what games you play, he'd totally like have you sit in his lap or spoon you from behind and watch over your shoulder as you play, and he'd totally make fun of the terrible dialogue options or how dumb the mcs are or judge you for the character routes you decide on, but it's all in good fun. he might even convince you to let him make some of the choices lol
❧ you sound like a very independent person who likes their alone time, and you probably enjoy that kind of parallel play time interactions where it's just the two of you doing your own things but in each other's presence. i could see the two of you in the same room with you at your art station and him doing whatever it is he does in his free time and you'll have a podcast on in the background or a youtube video up on your screen that you'll both tune into every now and then. kind of unrelated, i feel like lucas would enjoy making jewelry which is one activity he'll do during your parallel play
❧ there were other characters i figured would be enfp's, but i tried to pick the one who would be most likely to easily give you your alone time and not be too loud and,, extra for you since you're generally pretty quiet. lucas totally accepts that part of you, and he kinda understands too since he's more ambiverted. he does love when you get extra talkative, especially when it's about your day or a topic you really enjoy. he likes watching your facial expressions change as you tell a story
❧ he's an animal lover for sure, but when it comes to cats vs dogs i'd say he leans just a teeny bit closer to cats, so if you ever wanted to adopt a cat or two he'd be totally down. i could see him being a duck dad too, it's so cute watching these little ducks follow him around
❧ he also prefers mild days over stormy, messy ones. if it's a particularly nice day he'll take you out on a walk or you'll have a picnic in a scenic meadow so you can watch the fluffy clouds blow by in the soft breeze
❧ i hc him as a maximalist so he welcomes the gifts you give with open arms :) but be sure to expect some gifts back. his other love language is spending quality time with you, whether it's doing something active or simply being in each other's presence
❧ whenever it storms he makes sure that you have something to distract yourself. if you're in nightmare he'll put up a soundproof barrier and an illusion on the windows to make it look like it's nice outside. if you're in your world he'll close the blinds and find a podcast or video for you to pay attention to instead, making sure to entertain you further with his side comments
❧ he'll also check in with you to see if you've done something related to your hobbies recently. he wants you to indulge at least once per day, but he also understands you might be too busy. however, if he finds out that it's been more than two days since you've even touched your hobby he'll take on your responsibilities for an hour or two, or even the whole evening, so that you can work on an art piece or knock down a few chapters. say you came back from a particularly long day at work and it's your turn to make dinner, but he hears your disappointed complaint about how you hoped you'd have time to finish a wip you started last week, he'll pause whatever he's doing, usher you to your workspace and tell you not to worry about dinner or doing the dishes for the night, he'll call you over when the meal is ready; heck would you rather eat at your workspace so you can multitask? not a problem! he wants to make sure you have plenty of you time

that's true, i just keep reminding myself that nothing last forever but i am a bit sad about the ending. do you normally go to an art museum? ah, i suppose life is full of surprises, you never know what is around the corner. that's great, it's better to see things as the cup half full than empty.
i think gi will still be the company's most successful game. do you just stick to PC games then? isn't hsr the only one whose have a voice for the MC? i'm always phone based so i'm lost with the letters lol. wait, you can play it in class? 👀
don't worry, quite a few people retake a year no matter what country they are in so you're not the only one and i understand retaking a year more than once can be a bit demotivating but you can get through this.
just try not to beat yourself up about it, you are trying your best. yes, extra time to re-evaluate some options, would you like to goes into the STEMs? or another field?
i can imagine lmao, some kpop fans are too extreme though where they end up becoming saesangs. which kpop group did she introduce you to? i am an ex-kpop fan so i no longer know about the current groups.
those earrings would stand out wherever you would go especially since they are gold coloured lol. i have actually seen some shorts on YouTube of users styling their wigs and it's look like a profession because of how hard it look 💀 i'm wondering you might find a 15th february person? who know lmao but birthday twin would be most exciting. our time zone difference seem to be one hour apart so we should be able to wish each other on our days? i'll probably come off anon when it happen 🙂
you can take another shirt that fit you properly and ask them to use the shirt for guidance or get proper measurements. i just scrolled up the sleeves for mine lol. it is only the sleeves and nothing too complex so i can't imagine it will be expensive.
yeah, of course. i feel the same whenever any of my friendships or relationships or whatever end bc at the end there was still a lot of love and care involved. i love going to art museums <3 i generally love art and museums lol. i visit a bunch of museums every year, usually with my father, my godmother or said friend i mentioned. so yeah ig i usually visit them?
agreed lol, i mean hi3rd was already big before genshin but genshin topped it off still. omg my phone literally only has 16gb of storage so i can’t play any games on there ajdkffjskaj meaning i very much stick to my laptop. hi3rd doesn’t have a mc the way gi/hsr do and kiana does have a voice plus gi’s mc is occasionally voiced (only during cutscenes i think?). the mc in hsr is definitley voiced a lot more tho. i mean... i shouldn’t be playing any video games in class..... but always work on our devices anyways....... and i’d much rather play hi3rd than do french in class... ajdkfjdjsk (i’m not a good example of a student ajdkgkksj)
aa ty :) i’m doing great in school rn bc it’s all topics i’ve had before at a different school haha and i hope it’ll stay like this for a while, but let’s see. i’m also in the process of getting meds for my adhd so hopefully i’ll be able to study easier sometime in the future. honestly idk what i wanna do later rn... psychology or biology, specifically marine biology maybe? i’d love to be a marine biologist, but i get sea sick :/ though at the moment i’m mostly leaning towards studying medicine so i can work in forensic medicine. but luckily i still have at least a year to decide.
yeah, the kpop fans... she mostly introduced me to stray kids. i’m not like a big kpop fan, but i do have a playlist with kpop songs i like bc of her lol.
aren’t they silver colored tho? i made mine in silver at least ajdkfkks. but yeah, agreed. yeah, wig styling does look difficult tbh 💀 but. i believe in myself. if i believe enough it’s got to work...
maybe, who knows. ohh no more anon z next february 16th :0 hehe, i’ll gladly wait until then :3
ahh i have no long-sleeved shirts that correctly fit me ajfjfjhsk the only ones i’ve got left are from when my parents made me buy them bc i dislike them and prefer oversized hoodies and stuff by a lot lol. thanks for the tip though

so, i dont really know how tumblr works so I kinda hope this doesn't show up on anyone's feed, but I've decided that I'm using this like kind of a way to keep track of whatever is happening to my silly little paranormal crew. For the record, I'm currently on ep 94, so a lot has happened already but there's still a long way ahead.
Please, if someone somehow reads this, don't tell me anything about being right or wrong, I want to keep listening and see it by myself <3
Right now I know that there are this entities, gods or whatever involved and as far as know the monsters/entities/avatars belong to one of them?
The Eye (Elias, John, The Magnus Institute?)
The Beholding (my friend told me that the Eye and the Beholding aren't quite the same but they go together somehow?)
The Desolation (The Lighless Flame, Jude Perry, Agnes)
The Vast (Michael Crew, the Fairchilds?)
The End (Georgie's statement)
The Corruption (Jane Prentiss)
The Distortion (Michael)
The Stranger (The Unknowing ritual?)
Don't really know where to fit the Leitner books in here...
More stuff:
As Georgie pointed out in ep 93 (i think?): why did Elias (or the Eye) choose John as the Archivist? Why was he special? And why did they need to replace Gertrude? As far as I know she was doing quite well, right? She was getting closer to stopping the ritual John is supposed to stop, then why kill her? What was she doing "wrong"?
And besides, the creatures such as Jude Perry seemed quite happy to see her gone, but they don't have such reservations with John (yet). What was Gertrude doing? Let's not forget about that statement of the ritual that was most likely pulled up by the Lightless flame (ep 37)
Another question I'd like to answer:
What the fuck is inside the Do Not Open coffin? Is one of my fav episodes and it's still so unclear what the heck was that
I maybe tend to get caught on stupid details but after Jude Perry's statement I can't stop thinking about Tom (NotSasha's bf) who worked on a wax museum... like???? that's so specific
The Circus.... i know it's going to be so fucking bad but I need, crave, beg for answers. Does the Calliope turn people into muppets or smth?
The moving company or whatever that is (Breekon and Hope)... what is wrong with them, who are they. Btw there being more than one character with the same name is something that has happened before (I spent like a good amount of episodes thinking that there was only one Michael) but... one of the guys carrying the coffin was named Tom (ep 60)..................... [probably doesn't mean anything but still... weird]
Where is Gerard Keay I miss him
Daisy is giving not human ngl but idk
Elias is also giving not human. Like who is that man?? Who put him in charge???
Why does the recorder keep starting on by itself, that creepy old thing. I can't help but imagine the Eye or Elias or whatever it is listening to the recordings in real life and giggling, like dude give these people a little of privacy I don't think it's too much to ask.
Out of the people who disappeared in the fish market (ep 1) two have been already mentioned (if I didn't miss anyone). I'm pretty sure there were 6 people missing?
Im looking at the episode list and trying to remember things at this point
Ep 13: I think the Lukas family was also one of the families mentioned more than once.
Ep 18: what the fuck was that why did this man need so much meat
Are ep 27 and ep 85 related?
Ep 29 Cheating Death, so many questions in general
Ep 30 (Killing Floor) and ep 72 (Takeaway) are related, but I can't really fit them with any entity?
Ep 33 about the ship called the Tundra... feels like... unfinished
Ep 36 I know the guy from the Care Home was mentioned on another ep, can't remember on which one, tho
Ep 52 why did Maxwell Rayner visit Montauk on prison
Ep 58 how did the institute get this statement I'm so confused
Ep 59 why was Anges on that house, why did she help Ronald Sinclair. The table seems to be tied to the creature that replaces people (cause somehow notSasha was tied to it). Does that mean that the owner of the teenage home was a NotSomeone?
Ep 68 not really about the statement but I found it interesting that the institute statements were leaked in 1999.
Ep 74 weird, i don't understand why Michael is there
Ep 87 i was so confused about this one but the man giving the statement is such a legend, i think he deserves the best
Ep 90 just... what
Ep 92 why does Elias have a bunch of bones that are like 200 years old on his office, that's fucking weird, what a weirdo i don't like him. Also /Mordechai Lukas/
Im forgetting so many things i just know
There's also another thing that i don't really know where to fit: The cult of the divine host. They are gone since the section or division 31 idk how it is called (a c a b) interrupted the weird ritual. I have thoughts about them, but my thoughts are too complicated to write since Im stupid and i keep on writing on english instead of one of my first languages. Maxwell Rayner, Im keeping an eye on you.

finals never end
summary: as finals approach, i would like to imagine that there is something more to college than studying alone in a box for 14 hours a day. so, here's a modern au of the genshin boys as college students.
Characters included: Diluc, Kaeya, Childe, Xiao, Zhongli
Diluc:
- Who are we kidding, this bitch is a legacy at some pricy Ivy League. Hates when people bring it up though since he just wants to be his own person and not rely on his family name to get through things.
- Majors in business because of course he does. Rushed a business frat because it seemed like a good idea. Didn't get a bid and has since boycotted greek life.
- Eventually people find out who his father is and he starts to get bombarded by people who just basically want to use him for networking. Gets approached by girls (and sometime guys) after class like literally every day, asking if he wants to study with them sometime or just "hang out" both because he's hot and because he's rich. He never gives them the time of day but that never stops them.
- Goes to the same school as Kaeya but ignores him every time he tries to talk to him or just come back into his life. Kaeya usually takes it in stride but every else is super confused about how the two of them actually know each other.
- Walks you home from class when it starts to get darker earlier, apparently only because he doesn't have anything better to do. A gentleman through and through.
"Don't you have a meeting right now?"
"You staying safe is more important right now. They'll understand."
Kaeya:
- You know that one guy who is always out partying and who you never see studying but somehow makes the Dean's List every single semester without fail? Yeah, that's Kaeya.
- He's probably like an engineering or hard science major too and all his friends are absolutely pissed when he fucks up the curve every single time.
"You got a 98 on the orgo final???" "What, like it's hard?"
- Not as much of a hoe as everyone thinks he is. He definitely has his fun but he's not that guy who has slept his way through his entire major.
- Surprisingly enough, he's not actually in a frat, he just always knows where all the parties are. He's that guy with a snap score in the millions because everyone and their cousin hits him up every Friday night to ask where the parties are at.
-Generally seen as a really easy person to talk too. Also really good at seeming open with people without actually ever opening up and sharing anything about himself.
- With his very few close friends however, he has some strange hobbies that he's always happy to have someone to share with.
-Will take you on a picnic date about a mile off campus where you guys each way too much cheese and crackers, drink about a bottle of wine each, and watch the stars come out as the sun sets. Give the boy some love. That's all he really wants.
Venti:
-Your local friendly performing arts major who you never find without a huge iced coffee and cuffed jeans.
- He's super involved in a bunch of student organizations from improv to a few music clubs and the like. He's that person that everyone in his major knows and comes to for recommendations about new things that they should try out.
- He's in a band! They play indie songs at rotating bars every Tuesday and Thursday night and go to conferences once a semester for aspiring artists. Also sometimes will randomly perform on the Quad and serenade the random people passing by just trying to get to class.
-Offers to play at an event a club you're in is hosting as long as there's free snacks.
- Kind of an alcoholic? Not a partier in the traditional sense, but at least twice a week, he'll host a hangout where he and anyone who decides to show up get wine drunk and watch a shit ton of Gilmore Girls. BYOB of course because there's no way he could afford it on his own. Has shown up to class still drunk before but he's cute so everyone forgives him.
- Impromptu photo shoots all the time with him. Whether its a cute random flower patch, the soft neon signs outside of a boba shop, or graffiti painted onto a building wall, everything is an insta opportunity.
Xiao:
- That mysterious kid sitting in the back of your lecture wearing all black who is both undeniably hot and also exceedingly intimidating.
- Either an animal sciences major because animals are just better than humans, or he's like like history/english and spends a lot of time reading.
- He's that guy who stops communicating after the first day of your group project and you're really worried that they're just not going to finish their work but they end up sending it to you perfectly complete like a week early. Also, will talk/text you one-on-one but dislikes group meetings and group chats.
- He's in a band too! They actually play with Venti and his friends a lot and even though he admires him a lot, he's never gotten around to actually talking to Venti.
- Doesn't let people come over because then his frighteningly large collection of Funko-Pops and anime merch will be revealed.
- Also a dancer! He's not on a team or anything since he had some bad experiences with teams when he was younger, but he heads down to the studio at least 2 times a week just to move and let out some stress. If he offers to teach you sometime, that means he really really likes you.
- Asked if you wanted to go see the Demon Slayer movie with him and then showed up in a black mask and sunglasses because he didn't want anyone to recognize him.
Childe:
- Idk why but he kind of gives off athlete vibes??? Maybe like a basketball player or something?
- A bit of a campus celebrity just in that basically everyone, even if they aren't in the same major or aren't into sports, or just basically have no connection to him, still somehow know about him.
- He's a PR major and that charm is no joke. Some people kind of despise him because of the way he is literally able to effortlessly win over all of the recruiters and just random people he meets. He's extremely well-loved and he knows it.
- He's in a frat but outside of like mandatory events, doesn't spend all that much time with them. When he does party though, he goes hard.
- Doesn't actively flirt with anyone but he's just so charming and amiable that sometimes it comes across that way. Girls are always like "he's so respectful and nice I'm in love with him." He never feels the same way.
- Extremely competitive. Like the most competitive person you have literally ever met. He has to win everything and if he doesn't, he'll just keep trying and trying until he does. Literally the worst person to play beer pong with because he's not letting you go until he wins.
- Asks you to come to his games even though you barely even know the rules. If he does see you in the crowd, he gets way too hyped but plays the best he has all season. Make sure you take the credit for it.
Zhongli:
- That guy in your required philosophy class who argues with the professor. Not in an annoying "I'm smart and want an excuse to mansplain" kind of way though. He's actually just absurdly well-read and wants to discuss things instead of just listening to someone talk.
- People get annoyed with him because he's kind of disrupting class but if you actually listen to what he's saying, his ideas make a lot of sense and are kind of a mind-fuck at times.
- Has an extensive collection of plants at home and somehow manages to keep all of them alive and thriving. Also collects antique tea sets and goes to great lengths to make sure that they are taken care of.
- Probably actually a philosophy or anthropology major. Always has a new book recommendation and he's a darling who actually reads from every genre.
- Spends his free time going to museums in the area or visiting historical landmarks that are close enough to the university. Loves walking everywhere so that he can just take time to enjoy scenery and the like.
- You mention that there's a new exhibit at the local art gallery and he says that he's actually going there that evening if you would like to join him. And I mean, why would you refuse?
A.N. I'm gonna go back to studying now! Hope you enjoyed!

I am curious: what are your favorite scenes from your main ships (date, dair, derena...)?
scenes involving milo don't count, sorry!
for me, it's really not just scenes, but body language & just in general, how they are with each other, you know? dan and serena grin at each other and hug SO much, you can tell that being around each other in s1 made them both so happy, and even after that glow fades the way they look for comfort in each other... top level stuff. the way blair looks at dan... we never see her as radiant at any other point. she was not looking at anyone else like this. and gosh, dan and nate. they're both so comfortable around each other that there's absolutely nothing weird about like. discussing that one ex girlfriend whom they both share AND both were in love with. there is literally no other duo who trusts/enjoys each other's company so much that they're comfortable in a love triangle. (probably because they're more in love with each other than with the girl, but that is not the point. or is it?)
anyway, more specific answers. under the cut. this is one of the longest answers i've ever written on this blog possibly but you KNEW that would happen when you sent this ask, didn't you? (affectionate)
derena: i tagged one of my ds reblogs as 'the grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one' and like. look at them! this hug from 1x10 kills me in the best way. they are both the literal embodiment of :D when they see each other! i love 1x10 as a whole moment, their entire thing at cotillion is so sweet and they're both so happy. the fact that he is talking about his chemistry teacher during this kiss in 1x07. that bit at the end of 1x05 when they talk about their siblings (being there for their sibling because of fallible parents being a derena parallel makes me simultaneously really sad and really soft, tbh). 1x05 gives me SO MUCH SECONDHAND EMBARRASSMENT but the way they walk off together arms around each other does something to me - these are two people who are still getting to know each other but who really like what they see, and who trust each other and. are just having a good time together! back when derena was my OTP, the 1x11 "your story's about me?" was absolutely a fave, too, and i still adore it, albeit in a different, more nostalgic way. i like a dan who writes cute stories about serena. no empty shell sabrina van skoneker bullshit. she is so much like you, daniel! you'd be shattered if she did this to you. don't do this to her. tbh, most derena moments from s1 are just A+ romance. the bit in 2x02 in the jitney is so funny, they're SO bad at being exes. the bit in... 3x03 i think?? i don't remember... on the contrary. when they're talking about dan's fling w/ georgina and serena's relationship with carter, the ease with which they talk and how happy/supportive they are of each other's new relationships... yeah. love to see it.
i also really like any instance of them having honest/open conversations. 1x13, talking about how serena is concerned about blair. 1x08, serena talking to dan about feeling jealous of vanessa. this bit from the touch of eva or whatever that episode is. 4x04 i think. this is the conversation everyone is trying to get dan to have and he's avoiding EVERYONE else. derena interactions in 3x21 (can't find a gif right now) - the fact that dan is with serena when her dad abandons them, the fact that he goes all the way there with her. 2x07, "i'm really glad you're nate's friend. he really needs someone like you right now" (though i'm cheating, that's technically a d/n moment too klhdflkgf). there's a bit in s4 where he's advising her against having an affair w/ colin, i don't remember the ep number, but the way he takes her side so easily and naturally and puts due blame/responsibility solely on her professor... yeah. 4x10 i think this ep is?? idk. but like my tags say, im sentimental about this moment because while what dan was doing was irresponsible, sneaking her out of the ostroff, he was the only person in this episode who was actually talking to her and listening to her and taking her seriously. nobody else was doing that!!
i probably have more moments i'm not remembering, but we're only 1/3 into this answer and LOOK AT THE WORDS, good lord, i'm sorry.
dair: my favourite dair episode is hands down despicable b (5x21) which i have heard is an uncommon answer. i just love the conflict resolution of it all, okay!!! 1x04 & 2x08 are like. standard answers any dair shipper will give, and i'm no different. i love dan being able to give blair advice and blair actually taking his advice even though they're not friends yet!!! be right back, yelling at the intimacy of it all!! 5x16, with their getting together (this little kiss and dan being so startled by it), blair admitting a flaw she genuinely does have and dan saying it's not awful because it's her, which is just. romance at its finest. those vows, good lord. 5x18.... they're having fun! blair showing up at the loft in lingerie for dan... the delight on her face.... (i know this moment blows up in their face but when she's there she looks so happy and proud of herself and this was like THE moment when i was like. oh. dair is really the heart of this garbage show huh).
i think for me, the thing that really sells dan & blair together is the serena of it all. both of them love serena more fiercely than anyone else, and that is what brings them together. (fwiw i definitely think nate loved serena this much and this deeply, too; the writers just wanted to pop the serenate balloon, which even i think was extremely unnecessary and ooc.) but (& i have so much meta about this) their relationship grows beyond serena. their entire s4 arc is SO good. i love how comfortable around each other they are, in such an adult way, in the sense of like. they both bring so much stability to each other? morgan tagged this edit "the marrieds" and like. yeah. b offers to help him shave. they're having breakfast & reading the paper together.
all the love declarations we got that weren't a simple 'i love you.' be your charming wonderful self (how could she not love you/ tell me what would make you happy, dan) i told chuck he doesn't have my heart anymore (you spent your life earning the keys to set you free when you were free all along!!!!) dan's pep talk to blair in 5x21 (already linked a gifset earlier, here's another one if you want i guess). there's definitely more... but honestly, the way the dair arc was executed was so good - while i do have my complaints, i also think keeping those aside, it was SO close to perfect. i love dan & blair's banter and gradually becoming closer and closer and closer. it felt very organic and real and GOSH. the way penn & leighton looked at each other while playing dan and blair...... it's just SO MUCH.
date: this is the hardest, because it's. *screams*. maybe you saw me losing my mind over those 2 seconds of nate handing dan a waffle? i love almost every scene with these two, even the hellish s6 breakup scene. my favourite episode for d/n (& also favourite gg episode in general) is 2x06 - i love the homoerotic subtext of it all. nate pretending to be dan because dan's name is the first name that came to his head. dan flirting w/ nate while tied to that thing, in his underwear. them becoming friends. and 2x07 as a follow-up to that! dan getting nate to live in the loft with the humphreys for a while. i am so soft.
4x09 is a terrible episode in general, especially for serena my beloved, but the d/n moments in that one? off the CHARTS. this weird overly macho flirting, in some ways THE most iconic d/n line. this entire finish each other's sentences nonsense. someone (i think it was ana but im not sure?) compared the energy of those scenes i just linked to the book blairenate love triangle resolution, blairena choosing each other over nate in the books, date choosing each other over serena in the show (if only! RIP.) after the saints & sinners ball, this cute little moment of 'youre the only one who understands me. please tell me they went home together. i mean. how could they not have.
3x07, them watching vampire porn together. a tag i used on ao3 (& also on here, once) is 'nate brings out the himbo in dan'. here is a prime example. 'is she levitating?' i don't fucking know, dan, what do you think?? (i was telling my partner that that's what i love abt dair vs date. around blair dan is an intellectual, a librarian, an art historian, a museum curator. around nate it's like dan is competing to be #1 himbo on the show. can my girlfriend actually fly? i don't know, dan. i can't believe you're seriously asking such a question.)
3x12 pep talk. (sorry about the shitty quality!) essentially nate telling dan that he (dan) is hot and that he shouldn't talk himself down so much.
dan making nate gay in his book. you know. his book from which blair found out he was in love with her. nads (who i will not tag in this billion word long gushy meta, because i value her sanity) once called inside "wish fulfilment' and. i mean. yeah
nate checking dan out at the derena wedding continues to be hilarious. hilarious in the same way as dan sexually fantasising about nate. canon really went 'let's give ivy some special easter eggs' and i appreciate them a lot!
i love the way they are around each other - so quietly attuned to each other. i showed my sister my date!husbands gifset, and she was like. yeah they're so married. and it's just stuff like how dan looks for nate over his shoulder, it's not even an active action, it's as easy and natural and intuitive as breathing, checking to see if nate is still there.
oh, that wasn't as hard as it could've been! okay. cool. im SURE there's more things i could scream about, because it's DN, the fact that they're non-canon makes me THAT much fiercer about them than dair/derena, to be honest. so many dots to connect!! anyway.

* maris racal, cis woman + she/her  | you know marisol flores, right? they’re twenty-one, and they’ve lived in irving for, like, their whole life? well, their spotify wrapped says they listened to let’s get married by bleachers like, a million times this year, which makes sense ‘cause they’ve got that whole windows filled with plants, rolled up sleeves of an oversized sweater, and believing in love at first sight thing going on. i just checked and their birthday is march 10th, so they’re a pisces, which is unsurprising, all things considered. ( kennedy, 21, cst, she/her )
hello hello i’m kennedy and i’m super excited to be here!!! i apologize if this intro is a little messy, i’ve never been good at them. i have a pinterest board for her here !!
*ryan bergara vc* with that being said... let’s get into it
background
for as long as she could remember, marisol’s parents were never happy. it was clear to everyone around that the two no longer loved each other ( if they ever did ). classic case of staying together for the kid. not that they were really around often enough for it to make much of a difference. her mother would leave for weeks at a time, only vaguely saying that she had work when pressed on it. her father at least tried to be there for her whenever he could but those times were rare. he worked as an architect in the next city over and worked long hours (and suspiciously seemed to stay even later whenever her mother was home).
marisol was often left in the care of the elderly woman who lived next door. a nice woman named irene with an incredible garden in her backyard. or at least, it was incredible to little marisol. these times at her neighbor’s home introduced marisol to her love of plants and just nature in general. she would spend hours helping irene with her garden, learning everything about the plants within it in the process. for her tenth birthday, she was gifted a book on how to identify wild plants and a blank journal. irene would take marisol out every weekend to identify (and sometimes collect) wild plants in the area and would help her record her ‘findings’ in said journal. soon enough, it was filled with drawings of plants (that slowly got better and better over time) and marisol’s observations about them. these formative experiences would be what eventually leads her to study botany.
marisol was very desperate for her mother’s approval growing up. she had herself convinced for a long time that the reason her mother was never home was because of her. that she just wasn’t good enough for her to bother being home. so she worked harder in school and strived to get the best grades. she got involved in various clubs and programs offered at her school, including theatre. but no matter what she did or how hard she worked, nothing seemed to work.
marisol’s parents would finally divorce when she was sixteen. her mother would stay with a friend during the divorce proceedings. she would take marisol out to eat or to a museum every few weeks but that was about all marisol saw of her during that time. then. as soon as the divorce was finalized, she just left. marisol would still see her over the years although usually on holidays or special occasions. despite all of this, she still holds her mother in high regard and remains just as desperate for her approval as she was when she was a child. every time she comes into town, marisol is spending every minute she can with her.
marisol’s relationship with her father improved after her mother’s departure. seeing the effect everything had on his daughter, he began working less and spending more time at home. he encouraged her to continue her extracurriculars and made sure he was there for every school event. and while she doesn’t live with him anymore, she still talks to him regularly and goes to his house every sunday to have dinner.
personality
very positive! always tries to see the best in people even if everything tells her that she shouldn’t, she strongly believes that everyone has some good in them. has probably gotten her into trouble a few times tbh
hopeless romantic. definitely believes in love at first sight but like obviously not for everyone (gestures at her parents). she just believes that it does happen for some people and think it’s just beautiful when it does. loves love!  has honestly gotten a lot of her expectations for love and relationships from movies and tv shows so they’re a little skewed.
can be a little shy when you first meet her but it honestly doesn’t take a lot to get her talking. and if you get her talking about something she’s passionate about? good luck getting her to stop. she just has a lot of thoughts and feelings.
people pleaser. she just wants people to like her. often puts other people’s needs and feelings before her own. honestly has a really hard time when someone doesn’t like her and will go out of her way to try to make them like her.
she’s sensitive, it is honestly really easy to make her cry. whether they’re happy tears, sad tears, angry tears, etc. has definitely cried over the stupidest things too like a commercial for dog food or a silly meme.

I have been listening to True Spies podcast on Spotify. It’s apparently connected to a thing called Spyscape, which has a museum/experience thing in New York. They also have an online test for your personality and intelligence.... well those intelligence tests all of course have to do with math. and they are TIMED. somehow I got thru guessing most of them.... didn’t score 0 but didn’t score great.
so guess what I scored on intelligence!  and personality scores mean I’m more prone to health problems and being unhappy.... :(
(here I woke up thinking I can be uniquely me, I don’t want to be like anyone else anyway, I can embrace that... but how can I when what I am is this pathetic)
I shouldn’t have done this, I know what these tests do, make me discouraged and hate myself more. they even said I’m not imaginative and creative-- things I value most besides intelligence (and intuition/empathy...)
they did say the “spy role” I was most suited for, which is what I’m most interested in, intelligence analyst. But in the more “practical” side, for jobs, it mentioned medical things, technical things, which I wouldn’t be good at and don’t like, business marketing-- working for a business I don’t care about, a job with no meaning....  it even had mathematician! when I’m obviously not good at math. the only jobs I might be interested in are psychologist/criminologist... idk.... to late for me to get any career anyway, let alone somehow what I really want
they did a risk assessment, where you blow up the balloon before it pops to get “money” - yesterday I started it and panicked when the balloon popped the first time and closed the window. then when I was walking the dogs it occured to me it was a test lol and I would just have to keep risking popping the balloon... so today I saw it as more of a game and not the ‘scary balloon popping oh no I lost money!” -not even real money. idk about fun.... all these things were stressful esp the intelligence test.
today I started the test, thinking it might help me, get insight into what I can do, instead, it discouraged me, I’m what I thought, mediocre and not suited for much, they only gave a “role” to me because they had to give me something. It said the intelligence analyst is inquisitive--when it just said I wasn’t -  idk how this even fits with the test bc analytical? that wasn’t one of the dimensions and doesn’t seem like I scored high on implied analytical powers, same with determined--
how can i live with myself being like this, having no role and no future according to any dimension that really counts. don’t want to be plodding away at menial tasks when I want to do something Imaginative, Creative, Intellectual-- ha can’t even do that
oh I’m proving them right, easily stressed and sensitive and reactive --
I’m not including the risk assessment bc I don’t think it’s accurate-- I’m really very risk averse in all cases... oh we know that already so.

results (bold/parentheses is mine)
MENTAL HORSEPOWER
Unlike Alan Turing would, you scored moderately low {yay!:(} on this attribute. The result, driven by your performance in the personality tests, suggests that, on the whole, you struggle with complex mathematical and analytical problems. {so how can I be an analyst?} That said, you can usually spot patterns and find links in data – as long as the information you have been given isn’t too abstract. (I like big picture things.... abstract things... apparently I’m not good at it)
IN YOUR DAILY LIFE
Like other people with a moderately low Mental Horsepower score, you are more likely to ‘go with your gut’ when making decisions rather than to apply logic and reason (that’s true.... logic is mystifying. fits with being INFP-- logic is my weakest point). It is unlikely that you will sit down and win a game of chess, and you probably rely on your satnav rather than read a map yourself. (yep.... chess is too much strategy... I can’t see ahead like that .. hm how could I be an analyst)
IN YOUR WORK
Because you are not a very conceptual thinker, you are better in roles where you can do things ‘automatically’ rather than applying any abstract reasoning skills. You are not bad at visual-spatial or mathematical tests though, and with training and practice, your skills will definitely improve.
THE SCIENCE
Mental Horsepower relates to our general cognitive ability and our capacity to think about, reason with, and understand abstract concepts. It particularly links to analytical and mathematical skills, but also covers memory, comprehension, language, learning capacity and judgement. These are hugely significant skills for success at work and in everyday life.
Psychologists have developed all kinds of tests to measure cognitive ability. Some of these involve predicting outcomes from patterns in data (also known as inductive reasoning), while others focus on mentally flipping and rotating images. We use both of these approaches in our Mental Horsepower tests at SPYSCAPE.
Recent neuroimaging research shows that intelligence is linked to brain patterns, and that these patterns are unique to each of us (meaning you can’t change them :(  )– much like our fingerprints. In one study, these brain ‘fingerprints’ were used to successfully predict people’s scores in IQ tests.
While IQ tests are probably the most common method for determining cognitive ability, there is some debate over whether they provide a complete picture. For example, theories suggest that there are many different types of intelligence which are not accounted for in these tests. Still, it is generally accepted that people who score highly on tests of cognitive ability are on the whole better at completing intelligence-related (so that career’s out... if it was ever in lol) tasks in the real world.

COMPOSURE
Unlike Jason Bourne, you scored extremely low (low on everything! what a wonderful person!) on this attribute. The result, driven by your performance in the personality tests, suggests that you are far more vulnerable to stressors than most people (I knew that). You are likely to have a very strong emotional reaction to negative events and your brain becomes highly active when you see something you perceive as unpleasant (like this test!). Although this means you find it hard to relax, it also means you are really tuned in to your surroundings ( and what’s the upside of that? nice consolation prize....)
IN YOUR DAILY LIFE
Like other people with extremely low levels of composure, you are highly likely to experience anxiety and burnout. (with things that aren’t really stressful to anyone else. just stepping outside. just being inside-- doing thigns like this.. doing most things actually-- help how can i live) You can be far too critical of yourself (well how do i stop? if this is how I am like), especially when you are stressed (which is almost all the time), and this can make it tricky for you to overcome problems (which is never, which is why I’m still living w my parents). You also dwell on the past far more than people with high composure.
On the positive side, you are responsive to your environment, which means you are more likely to anticipate negative outcomes and find ways to avoid them (like almost everything). You are also sensitive and caring, and your observant nature means you look out for yourself and the people close to you. (what’s the point of that when you can’t do anything, or get to know new people)
IN YOUR WORK
It is unlikely your colleagues will turn to you when there is an emergency or crisis at work. This is because you struggle to keep your emotions in check, and challenging situations can get the better of you. When this happens, you are not great at maintaining focus or making tough decisions.
THE SCIENCE
Composure relates to how our brains respond to stress. In tense situations, your brain activates an area called the hypothalamus, which releases adrenalin and cortisol – also known as stress hormones.
A bit of stress now and then is important for survival, because it alerts us to the dangers around us. Small amounts can be useful, but too much over a long period of time is bad for our health (oh goody). Studies show that the adrenal cortex, the part of the brain that releases stress hormones, is also linked to the healthy function of our immune system – and people who are more prone to stress are also more likely to get sick.
There is also a connection between composure and working (short-term) memory. Composed people perform better on tasks where they need to recall and use relevant information while they’re doing something else – for example remembering the steps of a recipe when cooking a meal.

Contentiousness
Unlike diligent Mission: Impossible hero Isla Faust, you scored moderately low on this attribute. The result, driven by your performance in the personality tests, suggests that unlike Isla, you find it difficult to keep focused on long-term goals {Idk about this. goals are all i focus on.... well. I think about them often but Idk how to create the steps to get there and so things fizzle out and I get-- discouraged what else is new). You get distracted or bored quite quickly and are often drawn to new ideas and projects instead of finishing what you are currently doing (well.... hm. I finish novels...). You understand what is important in life, but you sometimes skip the details. (I’m not a detail person... I can be but they often seem irrelevant)
IN YOUR DAILY LIFE
Because you prefer not to a follow a schedule, hobbies that require regular training are not for you. In fact, your interests change quite regularly, and you find long-term commitment a challenge whatever the activity. Friends and family know that if they want you to do something, they need to encourage you to get organized. When they press you, however, you do things pretty well.
IN YOUR WORK
You take a relatively flexible approach to work. As such, you get distracted easily and do not always complete the task in hand. Because of your tendency to do this, you are likely to change jobs – and perhaps even career – fairly regularly (I want variety... Idk, this sort of fits, sort of doesn’t).
THE SCIENCE
Conscientiousness shapes how likely you are to follow rules, regulate your own behavior and get yourself organized. The more conscientious you are, the more motivated by goals and tasks you are likely to be.
According to what psychologists call the ‘Big-5’ model, conscientiousness is a core dimension of personality – and one of the five key traits that drive human behavior. Whether you are high or low in conscientiousness can help predict your success in social, academic and professional situations.
If you have high levels of conscientiousness, you are probably more productive and better at adapting to new situations (that’s true, I’m not) that come your way. However, this does not mean that being conscientious is always a good thing, because research also shows that being too conscientious can lead to overthinking. (I do that too...)
Some studies suggest that people who are more conscientious are healthier – and they might even live longer. This might be because conscientious people are more likely to exercise regularly, eat healthily, and avoid smoking or drinking too much alcohol.
It’s hard to say where conscientiousness comes from. One study found a link with areas of the brain relating to attention and cognitive control. There is also evidence to suggest that genes play their part. It’s likely that social factors such as your upbringing influence how conscientious you are, too.

~
INQUISITIVENESS
Unlike Carrie Mathison in Homeland, you scored moderately low on this attribute. Your score was driven by your performance in the personality tests, and it suggests that you are pretty cautious about new ideas, beliefs, cultures and theories.
IN YOUR DAILY LIFE
Like other people who scored moderately low on this attribute, you are not so willing to take on board other people’s views (that’s true). You will consider what people have to say, but you are likely to stick with your own opinion. You feel more comfortable in familiar situations and surroundings (well, yes...), and you do not really feel the need to explore new places (I kind of do, though... I want to but I often... don’t. because it’s too hard).
IN YOUR WORK
Because you aren’t motivated to learn or acquire new skills (Idk about this... depends on if it’s something I’m interested in. I’m learning like 15 languages on Duolingo...), you are less likely to seek out new opportunities at work. And the longer you stay in a job, the worse your motivation is likely to get. In general, you tend to perform better when you start a new position, although you will carry this out using the same approach you always have, rather than approach it in a new way. You like real-world, practical work that has straightforward solutions.
THE SCIENCE
Inquisitiveness is an important trait for discovering new things and building a better understanding of people and of the world around us. Psychologists have developed tools for assessing and measuring how inquisitive a person is.
These are based on extensive research into personality and are designed to evaluate five facets related to inquisitiveness: (i) intellectual curiosity; (ii) aesthetic sensitivity; (iii) active imagination; (iv) attentiveness to inner feelings and; (v) preference for variety.
Furthermore, personality researchers have identified two types of inquisitiveness; ‘epistemic’, which refers to information seeking ( I think I’m more information seeking?) behaviour and ‘perceptual’, which refers to experience seeking.

SOCIABILITY
A bit like Alec Leamas in The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, you scored extremely low (yay. well I knew this... and from answering the questions... )on this attribute, which suggests that you prefer to spend time alone and keep yourself to yourself. You avoid parties, meet-ups and other noisy gatherings because you find them overwhelming (wayyyy). If you really have to socialize, you need plenty of quiet time afterwards to help you rest and recharge.
IN YOUR DAILY LIFE
Like others with an extremely low sociability score, you don’t like being the center of attention and often struggle to start conversations. You think a lot before speaking and regularly find it hard to express your thoughts and ideas. Because of this, you often let others do the talking, and you don’t take part in small talk either. This behavior means you might come across as socially reactive, and people may think you only talk to them when you feel you really have to (as in, extremely negative, and I shouldn’t exist. although... i do talk to them if I have to.... haha I do take part in small talk because I think I have to. or people will think I’m rude. but I don’t like it. I’m sensitive to how I’m perceived and don’t want to be seen as too antisocial, but I talk to others out of fear not of want... yikes. no wonder no one wants to be around me. well I don't want to be around them. well - I want to be around people I know well. for limited amounts of time... need less to recharge from people I know than strangers. I want to be with them, I don’t want to be with strangers-- it’s only stress and not fun at all. but how do i get past the stranger part to the friend part if I don’t like being with strangers and it’s all stressful adn overwhelming? How do i participate in society, have people to talk to, have any sort of success??? - shouldn't exist.).
IN YOUR WORK
Because you are more comfortable working independently (please. HOW???? besides working for myself... haha can’t work for anyone else bc can’t get past the interview, these ^ traits are obvious and not something any employer in their right mind wants), you will be more productive – and much happier – managing your own workload, tackling problems alone, and avoiding company brainstorms and powwows.
THE SCIENCE
How sociable you are can be linked to your levels of happiness, positivity, and wellbeing. In fact, sociability relates to a variety of positive outcomes in life, including how successful you are at work, how well you cope with challenging situations, and even how physically and mentally healthy you are. (yay. I’m doomed. I might as well kill myself now)
People who are highly sociable are more positive emotionally (case in point!) than those who are less sociable. In one brain imaging study, people with a high sociability score had higher levels of brain activity when they saw images of happy faces and other positive emotions.
The same part of the brain that processes emotions also helps interpret information from social contexts, which means we can judge a social situation and then respond appropriately (social situations, like math problems and logic, are mystifying to me. yay the things that are highest linked to success--).
There is some evidence to suggest that highly sociable people might be better at detecting and decoding the meaning of social cues –  including how they analyze and read people’s faces (oh, I know that. I have a hard time judging people’s faces, in fact I often think they are mad at me or judging me by their faces when they probably aren’t. I even have trouble finding out what emotions go with what emoji! besides the basics. i mean why, how are there so many emojis....). This means they are likely to find social interaction easier to deal with than others (lol yes. it’s . not easy. why. do i have to be born like this. always been. hell..).
There is also research to suggest that highly sociable people have more connections between regions of the brain that involve visual stimulus and regions that process social and emotional stimuli. (brains are better, we get it)
Sociability might also be associated with the neurotransmitter dopamine, which is linked to reward-seeking behavior. It is thought that people who are highly sociable may have an enhanced response to dopamine in the brain, which makes them pursue rewards such as attention, status, power or pleasure. This would explain why, when they get these things, they feel happier or more satisfied.

I have been informally drafting an tma/acnh crossover au where my island Ides is neutral ground for all the entities and people/avatars keep coming to visit for chill purposes. The entities are vaguely sentient but more in a “interpreted as personality by the beings talking at it” way.
Nook has no idea the Entities are a thing, and just wants to keep doing his thing. Keeps accidentally pissing off the financial anxiety part of the Buried because he gives people debt and then like... doesn’t go after people about it. He has, however, noticed a percentage of his ventures suddenly fall into sinkholes and he’s not sure why.
Timmy and Tommy were originally touched by the Web and honestly they’d play havoc on the neutral spaces Nook built, if they weren’t so attached to him. They’re hardcore dedicated to his sort of oblivious neutrality, seeing it as an extension of their guardian--and also a way to play the field. That said they’re also like teenagers at most, so they’re just like “We’re doing such a good job, LOOK AT ALL THE TARANTULAS WE BOUGHT, MR. NOOK!” “That’s.. great, kids. Nice nice..”
Isabelle is the only reason the larger ventures Nook gets involved in don’t go instantly under for snubbing all the various powers. Imagine how things view Gertrude. But also “If Mary Keay was a good person” in terms of organization. She just tells things to either get along to make the town better or shoo, thank you very much.
Flick is a corruption avatar, but like. chill. Not in personality--no he absolutely talks about insects like he does canonically. He just feeds his patron by being super hype about his giant hyper realistic bug art. It makes him a bit sad when someone doesn’t like them, but its evened out by the bugs telling him they love it.
CJ is a vast avatar and while the fishing thing is totally just him as a person, his streams out in the middle of the ocean freak some people out, but they can’t stop watching and tell themselves it’s just a weird day. They tune in every time. He really loves Flick’s art, but mostly because of his passion. The Fairchilds have bankrolled so many fish statues.
Zipper T Bunny is both Desolation and Stranger. Not because he’s part of both, but because the suit and personality is Desolation--its much too happy to make life hard on everyone by slathering eggs everywhere in place of normal environmental factors. The thing inside the suit meanwhile is a stranger entity that deeply enjoys the performance of the holiday, partially because the dramatics, and partially because no one is rude enough to tell them to fuck off so they all just sit there going “Who IS that? Why are they--i guess its.... fine?” Zipper does not like the sheer amount of dancing.
Celeste is a Vast avatar. The fear she feeds the Vast is largely existential. Anything on earth is by definition finite and able to be defined, even if someone can’t fully rationalize the whole scope. Things in space, however, are by definition infinite barring a few conceptualizations of the observable universe being the whole thing. She doesn’t like freaking people out, but she does enjoy talking about constellations and the infinite expanse of dark space, and if someone panics it happens.
Blathers isn’t an avatar, but he’s of the Eye in the same way someone working very passionately in the reference library of the institute is of the eye. He’s like the Eye went “He’s too much of a nerd to NOT sign him on, idk Elias figure it out.”
Gulliver is of the Lonely but mostly as a funny joke it’s playing on the Lukas family. Because the ship he keeps falling off is the Tundra. The Lonely feeds off his cycle of “Oh no, im away from my good friends on the ship :c “ and then being lonesome waiting on the beach. He keeps finding his way onto the ship and Peter throws him off every goddamn time and he keeps coming back. Gulliver does not notice that Peter doesn’t want him to be there.
Redd is Spiral aligned. He makes money and lies super fucking hard about his art. Sometimes he changes the art when people blink, and then change it back again once they’re sure they know what changed. The inside of his boat is just coated with fractals but it’s dark enough that you only half notice them and then doubt that they’re not just shadows.
Wisp is End aligned but no one told them about it till it already happened so now they’re just constantly spooked about themselves.
The Island Rep exists to enforce the neutrality mostly through net based methods. It’s not a special net, just no one likes getting smacked with one so it works out. The Axe happens only with big infractions.
Jon and Martin visit Ides just so they can have a single goddamn break. They like visiting the museum because calming but also Jon cannot handle more than one person wanting to infodump so he just emotionally goes “k” while Blathers is telling Martin all about the new fish they just got in.
I’m not saying this is a post Extinction situation, but i actually maybe am. Or just in general a fun thing.
Also i keep imagining Jon and Martin getting a house on the island and Elias getting a royal dressing down from Isabelle for trying to Start Shit with the residents.

Does it annoy you when people make their default of them kissing someone? I don’t mind kissing photos or icons. But hmm, I can imagine being a little grossed out if it’s an image of them kissing with tongue or if it’s generally a little on the sloppy side.
Are there any names you can think of that just go well together? Well there’s...a lot of names in existence lmao, so there’s a lot of combinations out there that I like for sure. I just don’t rank them and I don’t have a name combination of choice just yet.
Do you enjoy museums? I’m obsessed with museums. In every single one of our family trips, my dad has always made sure to book at least one museum visit for me so I can return back home happy, hahaha. I also visit and revisit museums in my own time, and I’m open to going to any kind of museum whether it’s natural history, art, science, ancestral homes, etc.
Have you ever met anyone famous? One of my coworkers plays the drums for a local band that’s got a bit of a following, so it was definitely a shock when I first saw his name in our work group chat. Someone I used to be close friends with in the local wrestling community is now an actor/influencer and doing a billion gigs and photoshoots all day. We’re still mutuals so every now and then I’d comment on one of his posts and congratulate him on how far he’s come.
Describe the scariest dream you can remember? I never like it when someone I love is shot in my dreams. The scariest dream I had recently is probably the one where I watched three planes drop to the ground all at the same time and explode.
Have you ever been to a mint where they make money? Nopes. I think the BSP had been part of one of Nina’s field trips before, but my batch didn’t get to have the itinerary.
Do you ever get really, really hyper? Occasionally.
Are you left or right handed, or ambidextrous? Right-handed.
If ambidextrous, do you prefer writing with your right or left hand?
What is your favourite subject at school? Any history elective, biology, political science.
Do you ever use Yahoo! Answers? For seriousness or for trolling? I used to read both serious (when I have a legit question) and funny (when I was bored and just wanted to lurk on the site) items on it. These days, when I have a genuine question, Google usually pulls up a Quora link which I find has been more helpful than Yahoo! Answers ever was.
Have you ever stepped on a thumb tack? No, but my brother did when he was a baby and was first learning how to walk.
Do you have a username you use for everything? Or does it change each site? I use my first name + surname for more serious, professional websites. Then I have a go-to for everything else.
Are you in Miami bitch? :D No. Not really interested in going to Florida at all, to be honest.
How did you break the last bone you broke? I’ve never broken a bone.
Have you ever used Nexopia? Never used, never heard of it before.
What has been the best year of school for you so far? Junior year of both high school (2014-15) and college (2018-19) were really great for me. There was a string of good events that happened in both, and I was able to have a lot of fun, gain friends, and have a number of positive learning and growing-up experiences.
Do you have any disorders or disabilities? I’ve always worried that I have BPD, but from the time I started considering it until today I’ve only done self-diagnosis, so idk. There’s definitely a lot more to unpack when it comes to me, mentally and psychologically.
Do you ever watch How To videos? Not really. How It’s Made videos are fun to watch though.
Do you enjoy trolling? It doesn’t even sound fun.
Have you ever been to an emergency room? If so, what for? Never been.
Which emoticon face do you use most often? Things like: :) :( :D :P :L D: Most of the time I’ll use the open- and closed-mouth smileys. I use the sad face as well, and occasionally I’ll pull out the :3 and :/ emoticons.
Are you a musical sort of person? I mean, are you musically talented? Yeah, not at all. I can’t sing, read music, nor play any instrument.
How did you break the first phone you broke? So my mom hooked my first phone to a lanyard that I was made to wear as it was the surest way I wouldn’t be able to lose it (I was 7, which really should not be an age for kids to receive their first phones lol). One day I was being a little more rambunctious than usual, and while moving around the hook to the lanyard suddenly came off, and the phone crashed to the ground. It messed up the screen a bit and the hook also got a little fucked from there; eventually the phone came off during my 1st grade field trip and I never realized, and I lost the phone.
Did you have a tree house when you were a kid? If so, did you ever fall from it? We did not have a treehouse. My grandpa surely would’ve been the type to make one for his grandkids as he’s great at building stuff and working with wood, but it just wasn’t plausible considering most trees here are crawling with fire ants and other weird and potentially dangerous insects.
Have you ever been on vacation to a snow field? I don’t know what that is but I’ll go ahead and say no as I’ve never seen snow anyway.
When you go on vacation, what mode of transport do you usually use? We take road trips most of the time because my dad likes to drive. But if it’s gonna be on another island in the country, like Palawan or Batanes, then we obviously have to take a plane.
What is the worst show, in your opinion on MTV? The best? I don’t care for any shows on MTV and I typically think most of them look like they suck. The few ones I’ve seen, like Teen Wolf and Scream, certainly didn’t help.
Do you like Jason Derϋlo? Eh, some of his hit songs are catchy but I’m not a fan fan.
Are there any movies that just creep you out so much? Aside from everything about it being creepy, Eraserhead is just so depressing to watch. Midsommar is also a freaky film.
Have you ever had a close encounter with a shark? I don’t think so.
Do you have any hotties on your walls? I have a poster of Nam Joo Hyuk that Angela got me when she went to South Korea, but he’s more cute than hot to me tbh.
Do you ever wish dinosaurs came back to life and there were cute and snuggly? Not really. But it would’ve been interesting to see how they would look like in real life, and know their temperament and things like that.
How many countries have you been to? Aside from having been around my own, 6.
How many states have you been to? In all the countries you’ve been to? We stayed in one city/state for each country I’ve gone to - Bali, Singapore, Johor, Shanghai, Jeju, and Fukuoka.
What is a song you heard long before it became popular and everyone liked it? Idk about songs, but this was me with The Crown lol.
Do you enjoy designing things? Anything? Not my thing at all. This is more of Nina’s specialty. Girl can make anything look pretty.
Do you know anyone who has gotten themselves into a serious accident? Yeah. Off the top of my head, I remember my aunt getting involved in a hit-and-run with a motorcycle and needing to get a number of stitches on her head. My cousin Joelle also got into a bad car accident a few Christmases ago that totally wrecked her vehicle.
Can you play anything on the violin? Nope, I never learned how to play. It’s one of my favorite instruments though.
Do you know what a raincheck at stores is? Never heard of that. I’ve heard some people say “I’m gonna have to take a rain check” whenever they abruptly have to bail on a plan at the last minute, but I think you’re talking of a different raincheck here.
Whose funeral was the last you went to? Nacho’s wake. Never been to a funeral.
Who got married at the last funeral you went to? That’s pretty fucked up.
What do you think of excessively long names? What about their shortenings? I don’t have an opinion on either.
Do you ever get hay fever? No.
Do you know anyone with the last name Pilbeam? Never heard of that surname before.
When you were little, did you have those magnet letters on your fridge? We may have had those? I’m not sure. I haven’t seen the fridge I grew up with for a while now. I do know Athenna had those magnet poetry phases on her family’s fridge and we used to try to make poems with them.
Have you seen the Techno Jeep video on YouTube? I have not, and it doesn’t sound familiar.
Does your house have a wood fire? No.
Do you know what a Pibgorn is? I don’t think so. I can’t recognize the term.
Can you learn the lyrics of a song by ear, or do you have to search them up? It’s 50/50 for me. Sometimes it’ll be easy for me to recognize the lyrics, and other times it’s incredibly difficult.
Do you like the name Amy? It’s a pretty name. I’d consider it as a second or third name.
Have you ever got an x-ray? How about a brain scan? Just an x-ray.

The last time you were in the fridge, what were you looking for? >> A beverage.
Do you like clowns? >> No.
Have you answered all of these questions honestly so far? >> There have only been two thus far, and I can't imagine lying on a survey question anyway.
What's the third text in your inbox? >> ---
Are you listening to anything at the moment? >> No.
Do you twitch when your falling asleep? >> Yeah, sometimes. Or I have that sudden falling feeling and jerk awake.
Are your dishes in the dishwasher clean or dirty? >> The dishwasher is either still running or finished running, so, either clean or about to be clean.
Are you at home or with friends more often? >> 98% of the time, I’m at home.
When is the last time you were on a bicycle? >> A year ago? At least? I don’t know. I tried to ride for a while but I’m too out of shape to enjoy it and it was discouraging. And by now, I’m worried it needs maintenance from having sat in the garage through a full cycle of seasons and I’m afraid to ride it.
What have you eaten today? >> A veggie burger and chips, a sandwich, and taco mac with Nuggs.
Would you date someone 15 years older than you? >> ---
Do you own a strapless bra? >> No.
Does the person you like know it? >> ---
Do you care if people hate you for no reason? >> I care in some circumstances, but not all.
Did anything brighten up your day today? >> I’m not sure. My day was pretty okay, though. To my pleasant surprise.
How are you feeling at this exact moment? >> Chill. A bit tired.
Are you someone who worries too often? >> I get anxious about things, but I’m not sure “worries too much” is applicable.
If you could date somebody who would it be? >> ---
Do you ever wonder how other people see you? >> Well, yeah.
What is one good thing you're known for? >> ---
How about one bad thing? >> ---
Are you taller than most? >> Most children, yeah. LOL
When was the last time you sang an ENTIRE song? >> Hmm... oh, I sang along to a Journey song while I was in the shower.
Are you the type of person who likes to be out or home? >> I like to be home.
What time do you normally go to bed? >> Between 10p and 12a.
What is one thing that is currently bothering you? >> My neck is still kind of sore, probably from sleeping wrong the other night or something. It’s getting better, but I also keep accidentally twinging it.
What did you do today? >> Read some of the book I’m on, watched a few episodes of Avenue 5, played some Torchlight 2, browsed tumblr, browsed Reddit. Not in that order.
Do you consider yourself to be attractive? >> No.
What was the last thing that you drank? >> A shandy.
Is anything annoying you now? >> No.
Has anyone ever said i love you to you and not meant it? >> How would I know, unless they told me (and in my experience people generally do not tell)?
Do you regret going out with the last person you did? >> Eh. Not really. Like, it sucks and I hate that the trauma from those interactions is still haunting me and affecting my current relationships, but it is what it is.
Do you realize it when you curse? >> I mean, more or less.
When was the last time you showered? >> This morning.
Who did you last talk to in person? >> Sparrow.
Do you ever have days where you just don't do anything? >> No. Even when I’m deeply depressed I will move my hands to put on Netflix (and then click “yes” when it periodically asks if I’m still watching), lol. That’s something.
Have you ever been extremely tired but refused to go to sleep? >> Yeah.
What is your favorite episode of True Life, if you have one at all? >> ---
Have you ever experienced something paranormal? >> Maybe.
What's the longest amount of time you've been stuck in traffic? >> ---
Best field trip experience? >> ---
Have you ever been to New York City? >> I used to live there.
If so, is it all its cracked up to be? >> What’s it cracked up to be, exactly? People say a lot of things about NYC, not all of it positive. It also depends on, you know... your socioeconomic standing. Wealthy folks’ NYC is a completely different place from poor folks’ or homeless folks’ NYC, despite being on the same patch of land...
What is the most amount of money you've spent on a meal before? >> I have no idea.
What museums have you visited, if any? >> In NYC: MOMA, Museum of Natural History; in Philadelphia: Franklin Institute; in Chicago: Museum of Science & Industry, Adler Planetarium (it’s also an astronomy museum); in Michigan: Grand Rapids Art Museum, Grand Rapids Public Museum. Those are just the ones I remember, mind you. Might have been to a couple of others and just forgotten about them.
Have you ever had a group project and one of your partners bailed on you? >> Maybe when I was in school, idk.
What's your worst traveling experience? >> Probably every time I had to take a Greyhound from Colorado to NYC (or vice versa).
Sims 1, 2, or 3? Why? >> I’ve never played the first one. I like the vast amount of custom content resources for 2, the innovation of 3, and the continued innovation of 4. Otherwise, they’re mostly the same to me except the graphics just get smoother over the years.
Have you ever dealt with noisy neighbors or roommates? How did that go? >> Yes. Poorly, obviously, for me anyway.
Who was (or is) the teacher that gave you the hardest time in school? >> ---
Best muffin you've ever had? >> I don’t like muffins.
Have you ever taken a woodshop class? >> Once.
If so, was it required? >> No, it was an elective.
How much time do you spend on Facebook, if you have one? >> Hardly any. I just check it every few days or whatever, for messages mostly.
What area of math are you best at? Worst? >> I don’t know.
How do you feel when you meet someone with the same music taste as you? >> I don’t care if people like the same music as I do, as long as they’re not rude about genres they don’t care for. I like talking about music with people, but it always ends up being this “this genre is better than that genre” or “this era is better than that era” circle jerk and that’s so fucking boring.
What is the strangest thing you've ever seen outside of your house? >> *shrug*
Do you believe in luck? Why or why not? >> It can be a useful concept.
How often do you "half-ass" things (put little effort in)? >> Whenever I don’t have the energy to whole-ass something, but I don’t want to just not do anything at all.
Do you ever feel self-conscious when you eat around other people? >> No. I feel annoyed when I have to eat around other people, because then I have to hear other people eating.
Has a teacher ever made you hate yourself/your work? >> Probably.
How reliable is your internet connection? >> It’s quite reliable.
Have you ever missed a meeting/event that was required/necessary? >> Yeah.
What's something that makes you incredibly nervous? >> I can’t think of anything off the top of my head.
What's the latest you've ever stayed up to finish homework/a project? >> ---
If you don't have glasses, how would you feel if you had to get them? >> It wouldn’t bother me too much. Unless my vision started failing really badly, because, you know... I like seeing.
If you do have glasses, how would you feel if you didn't need them anymore? >> ---
How many vegetarians do you know? >> I’m not sure.
Have you ever considered going to art school? >> No.
Is there anyone in your life who consistently angers you? >> No.
How quickly can you write an essay? >> I don’t know.
Have you ever had problems falling asleep in class? >> In high school, i was put on multiple psychotropic/anti-depressant drugs, none of which I actually needed, so they all had pretty adverse effects on me. Including making me fall asleep in class almost constantly.
Have you ever been on the barrier or front row at a concert? >> I usually was.
If you have a job, who is your least favorite coworker/manager? >> ---
Favorite episode of Spongebob? >> I don’t like that show.
Do you have any silly/odd emotional connections to anything/anyone? >> I don’t want to call any of my emotional connections silly or odd. Especially since I have a hard enough time making them in the first place -- I want to encourage and support those connections, not disparage them. :/
Are your parents supportive of you? >> I took this survey almost a decade ago, and my answer then was that he was supportive even if he didn’t always approve. I was really on some bullshit then, I guess... because that’s just not true. He only supported what he thought was appropriate for me to be involved in, and when I invariably wanted to do or be other things, he was dismissive and almost derisive. Being supported in my being and endeavours is not a common theme in my life and it starts with that motherfucker.
How often do you take the train to go places? >> I don’t take it much anymore; the last time I took it was to go to Chicago and back, as an experiment (Sparrow wanted to see if it was truly better than driving there and back). When I lived in the City, of course, I took a subway all the time. Really miss that.
Do you play with your phone in awkward situations? >> I guess I would, if I found myself in a situation I thought was awkward. I usually don’t.
