christopher sneaking into chimney's room in fight or flight. he's so full of love, that's why his whole attitude in s7 re: dating is so callous and incongruent to who he is. like, this is the kid whose known chimney for all of half a year and decided he wanted sneak away from the adults/his dad to sit at his bedside and keep him company even though he was asleep/unconscious and you're telling ME he doesn't regard his girl friends feelings with the UTMOST care?????? get outta here with that. he really is a mini buck. feeling everything so deeply with absolutely no idea what to do with it all so he just smushes it down and creates different problems that don't need to exist. bless him.

Anybody else get emotional about how yeah Luffy went to go see this ‘demon of the East blue’ guy with a super scary reputation, who told him to fuck off, because he remembers when he was younger and met a boy angry at the world, who everyone hated and called a demon child until the boy himself believed he was a monster?
Or how Luffy went after Nami and Robin and Sanji when they told him not to because he remembers the last time he saw someone go somewhere they hated to try to protect others?
Or how he doesn’t listen when everyone says Nami and Sanji left out of choice and they’d be happier there and they’ll come back if they want, because he remembers the last time someone he was told to forget a loved one who left, remembers how he felt learning too late that his own brother never stopped loving him and suffered alone the entire time?
How of course he trusts Law because he remembers the last powerful pirate he’d met who literally sewed Luffy’s own wounds without being asked to. And of course he gets Law out of those sea stone cuffs even when Law threatens to kill him, because he remembers when two boys said they’d kill him only to rescue him and fight by his side?
Of course he lets his crew laugh at him, because he remembers the kind pirate who let himself be laughed at by his subordinates, not a hint of resentment in his being?
Of course he’s nice to Koby and every civilian he meets because he remembers that same pirate being so kind to Makino
Of course he doesn’t care when Usopp lies or when Sanji or Jinbei or Nami weren’t fully upfront about their past, because he remembers a little boy so ashamed, so disgusted with his birth parents and their cruelty that he’d rather let his only friends think he was born in a landfill
Of course he talks to Whitebeard and Rayleigh like they’re no one special, because he remembers talking to a powerful pirate like that when he was younger
Of course he lets Bellamy disrespect him and call him weak and pathetic without fighting back, because he remembers a pirate who didn’t participate in an easy fight unless an innocent bystander got mixed in
Of course he’s willing to get stabbed and bruised and burned and poisoned and get back up, because he remembers the man who lost an arm to protect him without flinching, remembers the boy who refused to back down from an impossible fight if it would put others in danger
Of course he carries a sick Nami to go get her medicine, because he remembers his brother doing that same thing for the woman who risked her life saving them from pirates and fire
Of course he goes out to sea alone and leaves everything he knows, because he remembers his brothers doing that
Of course he holds his head high and laughs loud and loves a good fight, his brothers and grandfather taught him that
Of course he wants to be free and truly believes he can do what he wants, because it’s all anyone who’s ever loved him has wanted
Lmao yeah no me neither

having the hc that minato is ace is incredibly funny sometimes when you think about how ryoji is oh so very bi because it's like. "ah. death stole my ability to be attracted to people," in the same way that ryoji stole minato's eye color and energy level. like wow, thanks ryoji, you just keep finding things to steal from minato!
#persona 3 spoilers#minato arisato#hc and au nonsense#lizzy speaks#happy international asexuality day to my fellow aces out there i hope you know that you are loved!!! 🎊🎉🥳#i like viewing minato with the lens of him being gay / ace. esp bc it stems from my own experiences so it's fun to look at-#him from that perspective even if that's not what was intended by atlus y'know?#and im sure others have other hcs from me that are informed by their own life experiences and i think that's great ^_^#something that i found interesting while playing FES was how. stilted? minato's animations felt when hugging the girls#you could definitely go with the perspective that it's a graphical limitation or they didn't have time to polish the animations#and that's def true!! but sometimes i see the hug @ yakushima beach + the other hugs and then i compare it to the sou/yo hug in p4#and there's like... a noticeable difference to me with how intimate and close together the hugs are...#that said i do know that the animations for reload are updated and the hugs are much more natural (good on them tbh!)#the other thing is (pensive sigh). the way you couldn't reject any of the girls when doing their social links in FES#objectively speaking i'm glad that they did away with that and i like how the rejections were handled in reload. it feels naturally written#but also a part of me enjoyed looking at the “hey atlus what the FUCK” moment and thought of how to interpret it differently#specifically with the idea of minato having like.. little to no autonomy and kind of going along with the relationship#it kind of reminded me of myself tbh with like going along with the rship without considering what you want bc#it's what others want or expect out of you... LOL. i dont think atlus intended for someone to interpret it this way but#eh i think that's the fun part of hcs and looking at characters with certain lenses!#regardless of how you perceive minato i do think there's something to be said about him being the kind of guy who molds himself-#into someone that is needed. not wanted. but needed. important distinction here.#the one caveat my brain runs into when im like “minato is ace!” is when i remember thanatos exists and i go#“you know what these ideas can exist simultaneously” GKLHFHDFHD when in doubt schrodinger's headcanons#anyway that's all i've had this thought in my brain in awhile and haven't sat down to share it properly until now 👍#have an excellent weekend everyone !!! lizzy loves you all lets all nurture our inner yippee!!! 🥺💙

if i could, very gently, turn any popular perception in my circles over its head and examine it, it would be the perception that ichigo cares only about protecting his family and friends and not anyone else. i'd say this is true for maybe the first few chapters of the manga, and the evidence people usually give is his quote about how he can't claim to be superman or anything but he'll do as much as he can to protect people, but even then, i think this statement is more of a cop-out on ichigo's part than any indication that he's only dedicated to protecting friends and family. he's afraid of widening the pool because he's afraid he'll fail them. keep the circle small and the task is manageable. rukia rightfully calls him out on the hypocrisy of this very early on, and over the course of the series his aims do evolve to a point where, by TYBW, he's pretty explicit about wanting to save everyone.
i think the reason this comes up a lot is because of how it factors into ichigo's ending in 686. people pro-ichigo's ending cite the importance of family and friends as a reason why it works, but i do think it goes a little too far when people say they're the only people he cares about. especially considering ichigo is notorious for caring about people he met, like, 5 seconds ago (rukia), or caring about them to a point where he hasn't been able to forget the day they met (orihime), or even caring about someone after it turns out that they've been the enemy all along (nel). ichigo feels way too much to be comfortable limiting his goals, even if he did very much start out that way out of fear of failure. however, anti-ichigo ending circles take it too far too, with this notion of unfulfilled heroic ambition. i don't think ichigo wanted to be a hero at all, but being extraordinarily attuned to suffering and grief had been taking a toll on him pre-powers, and having powers was just a way to respond to that. the powers were only a means to an end—the end being that ichigo had to embrace his heart and stop projecting the grief of losing his mother onto the fear of losing everyone else. ichigo at 15 is not the same as ichigo at 18, because ichigo at 18 embraces the fact that he is someone who will help anyone if they come to him or if he himself is a witness to their pain. if ichigo's life is a universe with rings, his friends and family would be in his innermost circle, certainly, but you can bet the most random spirit is on his radar too, even if they're on the farthest, outermost circle.
in light of that, karakura town can best be described as his base of operations, or, specifically, the place where he rests. where he's doing mundane things like reading books or hanging out with his friends. the rest of his universe emerges and expands out from this center. so much of ichigo's soul is split into four, and the part that's human is definitely the one that wants connections and love that will live on well beyond his mortal existence. ichigo will live on though kazui, as any parent lives on through their child, but there's something really poignant about a boy too scared to accept responsibility for strangers growing into a man prepared to raise a child – arguably one of the most daunting responsibilities there is. he cares about everyone, but it's not unreasonable for him to want to sink his roots into the town where his parents met, where he grew up, where he met everyone who would become important to him etc etc

Who wants more Critical Role rambling?
Me. I do. My brain is at full capacity and the thought goblins need somewhere to go.
First off, All Minds Burn.
I implicitly trust All Minds Burn.
One might think, based on previous Matthew Mercer horror show extravaganzas, this is a bad idea. And it very well might be.
But I got a vibe. It's already a terrifying psionic mishmash of mold, slime, and rotted corpses able to (it's smokable!) connect people through a fuzzy buzzy hivemind, but then Matt adds that its mind is completely alien to Imogen. Straight up implying it's even more unfamiliar to her than anything they've seen of Predathos, the Reilora, and the twisted life of Ruidus.
The emotions it shares with Imogen are a facimile. A replication. Observed from those connected to it. It's not actually feeling these emotions, but is choosing to respond with those meanings.
Now, it could still be an elaborate ruse. Or it could still be just plain dangerous to Exandrians (as Matt kept saying "yet"). But consider how Exandrians are as alien to it as it is to them.
And it is deciding to navigate Exandrian life interactions instead of doing whatever would come naturally to it. It is an immense psychic entity and yet is deciding to be polite to Imogen and shies away from Ashton instead of becoming aggressive when Ashton makes it aware that they're not sure if their dunamantic funhouse would hurt to connect to or not. The way Matt describes its mental force is like a hypothetical interaction between a blue whale and a sparrow. The whale has no intention of hurting the sparrow, but any movement it makes is just so massive in comparison that a gentle nudge would rightly feel like an immense weight.
It's a bit of a stretch to call it good, as clearly those connected to it are severely altered in some manner, but it does seem... honorable. For as much as that means between alien creatures. We have yet to see it force entities to become under its will, merely offer the opportunity. And it straight up offered to help, in whatever way it can.
The moon is an interesting choice to seed. It might have an ulterior motive, but the impression I got was that it was interested to see a new dry dusty desert - a biome which it seems to prefer, for surely those connected to it have made it aware of the nearby jungles, cliffs, and caves. Ruidus, despite being cursed and red, is kind of a familiar landscape to an entity that's existed solely in the Hellcatch. And the people there are also psychic, which seems to be preferable to it.
So yeah. Trustworthy hivemind made of nightmares. This episode was fucking bonkers, y'all.

Story Prompt
Summary:
There is a difference between being trained as a weapon and being a weapon.
In his research, Baron Draxum found the mind to be weak, malleable and prone to breaking under pressure. His warriors weren't expendable; they had to be survivors.
So, he created a failsafe. A micro-chip which, in the event that the turtles were unable to cope with a hostile environment, would temporarily trigger their primal instincts, both human and animal, and enhance all their abilities to maximum efficiency for survival.
Fifteen years later, Mikey's portal malfunctions and sends the brothers - injured, exhausted and unconscious - straight into a 2012 Kraang warehouse. They wake up a little different.
-
Basically, the Rise turtles go supervillain in 2012's world and the 2012 gang have to stop them/snap them out of it. If they don't die first, that is.
Inspired by @nicoforlifetrue's Rotten Reflections, which after reading only fueled my need for more primal/supervillain Rise in TMNT crossover AUs. I'd write this myself but I DO NOT have the time. The best I can do is drop this for whoever wants to pick it up. ( @watercloud7 )

Having thoughts? I'm enjoying watching you have so many thoughts about komari
Komari thoughts!!!!
Yes, ofc I have them.
So, maybe you have gathered it, maybe not, but I am definitely hc-ing Komari on the spicier side of neurospicy. I personally have a specific brand in mind when I write her, but imma leave that open here so that everyone can interpret that as they want.
She is a character that imo has very much been dirty by canon and thus It seems just fun and fair that I give her brain some crosswiring that irl also carries quite a stigma.
It doesn't work out for her in canon, but it sure does in my Happy Fun Time Crack AUs where all is well and (almost) no one gets hurt.

#some of these words are just so???#''still believes in the system even after getting fucked with no lube by it'' is 100% a metal as hell line#tfa#maccadam#also your tags???#tfa megop is so hilarious when done right#And Optimus manages to beat his aft Several times even if he's just ''maintenance prime''#that's more times than fucking Sentinel has won against a Decepticon#Tfp au Optimus is honestly based a bit on tfa Optimus because i say so#and another fucked up bit is how fast things went downhill after Sentinel became magnus#that boy went full 100 with his paranoia
@transingthoseformers making another post bc i'm about to rant
first of all i'm gald you find my phrasing humorous XDDD life's too short not to enjoy it and since i wouldn't make it in prison unique phrasing will have to do lmao
and TFA megop!!!!! i think it has some of the most written for it but most of it is Not for me ya know? no shade, but Optimus is almost always made into some uwu baby when he's a GREMLIN and would sell Megatron's soul for one corn chip. (also Primus and Unicron apparently don't exist in TFA which has me 👀👀👀 bc that has some interesting connotations)
Optimus manages to make peace with an alien race, keep the Allspark out of Decepticon hands, regularly kicks their asses, while also basically raising an alien child that he got surprise custody of. and that's just season 1. Sentinel had his paranoia fanned and abused by Ultra Magnus, given power he wasn't ready for, and possibly also mind fucked to make him more compliant, bc it was Sentinel's idea to go down on Arachna 9.
both Optimus and Sentinel questioned things, and once Optimus was cut at the knees and thought to be neutered they turned their sights on Sentinel and made him into exactly what they wanted.
then he got a position that he never should have in the first place. bc his paranoia is so severe, imo, he shouldn't be in a position of power like that. he would be GREAT in an advisory setting tho.
and things shouldn't have gone to shit so fast when Sentinel became Magnus unless it was already that bad and his incompetence just brought the curtain down.

Consider:
Should Omega find himself in such a scenario where he can destroy Eggman, though the only method of doing so involves his own destruction, does he hesitate at all? He has his own self-perception as the Strongest Robot; does victory at the cost of his existence fit that image he has? Is he truly the Strongest if he doesn't outlast his shitty Dad?
Don't get me wrong, the question isn't whether he'd go through with it. I know he would, just wonder if there's a momentary hiccup in his CPU due to his ultimate objective clashing with how he sees himself.
If you asked Omega if he'd sacrifice himself to kill Eggman, he's answer "yes" without hesitation.
Now, if you actually put him into a situation where that was the case, I don't think he'd go through with it.
Omega is a robot who Lies, and he is a robot with one hell of an ego. He'll say damn near anything to keep up the reputation he's established for himself. In this case, that's the reputation for being ruthless, tough as nails, and persistent beyond the capability of an organic organism.
Another thing to consider is the fact that Eggman has gotten away from him at least a dozen times at this point. Either through Eggman's own ingenuity and survival instinct, or through the intervention of Sonic and related friends, Omega's never managed to get the killing shot off yet. Although he'd kill you if you referred to such instances as "failures", he's no stranger to setbacks. He might get impatient about it, sure, but he knows that as long as he stays online he can always try again.
He does have a problem with charging into bad situations to try and get the perfect shot, but I don't think he ever goes into a fight with the assumption that he's not going to come out alive. He does an initial assessment, charges in when things look winnable, but often times forgets to reevaluate when more enemies arrive or variables change. You could say that he gets carried away by his passion and that gets him in trouble. But he never picks a fight that he knows he can't win. He wouldn't be the Ultimate Robot if he did.
Moreover, I think you're right about that self-perception part. I don't think Omega would consider it a victory if Eggman's death came at the price of his own (or at the price of his friends', but shhhh, don't tell anyone that!). He's better than that. Of course he can destroy Eggman without such a major cost, he's the Ultimate Robot!
So if you put him in a split-second decision of whether or not to self-destruct to destroy Eggman, I think that he'd hesitate, and hesitate long enough to miss the opportunity entirely.
(Oh, and he'll be pissed at himself for this, of course.)

Did Wanderer tell Cori about Sahsin and her family? On what Sahsin did to Wanderer? It was reiterated throughout tibyim that Corinthian is the one Wanderer trusted the most. Did she tell him both good and bad? Or just the good ones?
She told him the most from everyone, but not all of it. However, unlike Dream, Corinthian is very well versed in a particular black leather tome with golden writing found in the library of Dreams.
There's already no trace of Wanderer's human life, and they have no power to remove the book in the first place, so she's always known it's possible someone might read it, hence the personal influence in how it's presented.
