Reading Light of the Jedi for the first time has made the fact that the first (non-preschooler) TV show set in the High Republic time period is going to be a Sith-centric anti-Jedi mess even more disappointing than it already was.

(Yes)#we get to see so many ways for jedi to be jedi in this universe that allows them to just exist as they are #the jedi love each other and they love the republic and - for the time being - the republic loves them back #it's REALLY cool to see #and the villains aren't these terrible unknowable sith characters #the nihil have literally zero messages to send #they're just selfish criminals #they're nothing and no one #they're entirely banal #and that's honestly sort-of refreshing #i don't WANT the villains to be sith all the time #we've seen enough sith #the nihil are a kind-of basic bland villain that the galaxy would be dealing with in the absence of sith #it's so great #and acolyte so far looks like pure shit #i don't understand how the high republic series which is so adamantly pro-jedi and not about sith at all #has led us to a series like acolyte #whose creator promises us will be all about how the jedi sucked major balls #it's just immensely sad

my mom loves to lie and like she always swears she was NEVER homophobic or anything to me as a child “i even have a gay work friend” but a really funny memory resurfaced recently where i asked if i could use birthday money i had to buy a rainbow flag when i was like ??? 7?? because i LOVED rainbows. and she said no that means something Evil and god will hate you . so what did i do. but ask my grandmom for a rainbow sweater for christmas and proceed to only wear that sweater for three years when it got cold because i didnt like the idea that god hated colors and i wanted to challenge him

after having an entire hour long conversation with my coworkers about what "degendering" is, and the importance of using trans people's pronouns when you know them- rather than always defaulting to "they/them" no matter what- and still getting "they/them"ed by people I trusted not to fucking do that to me, I have decided that the name and pronouns circle of introductions for new additions to the group will now include the very clearly stated boundary that they do not use "they/them" pronouns for me.

your move, cowards!

#the positive end of this is that i happened to be the first non-cis person to introduce myself in the circle #and two nonbinary(?) people after me both followed suit & elaborated on like #which pronouns were okay AND which pronouns they actually preferred people use for them/how they use them #which was really cool!!#usually they've just given the list of which ones were okay #so it was nice to have the detailed insight and also nice to see them asset boundaries
