I watched a 5 hour long essay about httyd nine realms (after peacefully forgetting it existed for a few months) and the designs are so abysmal i just had to redesigned them to look more like the og dragons, + things i hate about them

The Night lights/ Thunder

His body does not have correct proportions. His face is way too human. The tail fin doesn't make any sense. The white markings, especially around his mouth make him look really weird. His wings look like they were struck by rigor mortis and they are way too small, the membrane is not connected correctly to the body.

The Mist twister/ Wu-Wei

The choice of color is horrible, but it could work wasn't it for the piss yellow they chose for their body. The design itself looks like it came from a rip-off rather than a main line show. Their heads are way too long and spherical. The fact that each wing is a different color is stupid and has never before happened in any httyd design. The hot and cold mist power is strange, instead i remade the heads so one looks more like a stoker class and shoots fire, the other is more tidal (inspired by the Scauldron) and spits water, together creating steam/mist

The Gembreaker/ Plowhorn

The pug of dragons. The face is too flat and eyes way too small and human looking. The beetle wings feel disconnected from the design, i went for more Gronkle like wings.

The Featherhide/ Feathers

The best design out of the bunch. Still feels more like a design from rescue riders (it literally looks like a songwing) than something that could be flying around with nadders and such. The head is way too round. I gave her the same head tendrils (or whatever you'd call them) like changewings have. The "feathers" are just spines that look like feathers.

The Deadly Spinner/ Webmaster

Literally the second worst design in that show (number one goes to the glass caster, that thing is literally just a goblin (why does it have a human nose and hair????)).

THE HEAD, THE BODY... Its all so cube, yet so sphere at the same time. I literally changed 3 things yet it looks like a completely different dragon. Also he's way too colorful for his design, there are 6 separate colors somewhere on him and it just makes it look like he has one million diseases and he shouldn't be allowed into public spaces.

Also the name for both the species and the dragon is stupid

Nero DMC4 rewrite!!

When i first watched the cutscenes for Dmc4, we had a slight dislike for Nero. Which was mostly based on the fact that he feels a lot like another Dante and didn't really fit the Games premise. I couldn't wrap my head around the fact this kid with a demon arm and white hair came around and they were like "oh yes your allowed into this church" yes. He fights demons (which could be them using him as a knight) in the beginning yes he hides it in a cast but come on. He couldn't have been doing that forever so We came up with a worse idea. (This ofc isnt hate on og Nero he has slightly grown on me as a charachter but this is just a 'darker' take on it if you wanne be edgy)

A Child washes up on the lake behind The Order of the Sword, Where Sanctus finds him, crying, blood flowing from his tiny body.

Similar to stories of the Messiah, they take him in and take in account his impressing healing abilities. 5 sisters are assigned to raise him while they pledge they know of their new savior, but that he must be hidden away from the public eye. Praising the heavens and the Father for this gift of divine.Until around the age of 7. The child's arm begins to grow dark blue unnatural veins starting at the finger tips, morphing into sharp claws and glowing tendons. It's then they realize the full demonic power of the boy, his arm glows and holds power inhuman, sharp razor teeth (that has something to do with my redesign of all the sparda family in general). Thinking he may have been cursed by some unholy force, they baptize him repeatedly, every day for hours. Praying over him, doing everything in the highest power they can to try and reverse the curse he's obtained. As we know though it's not a curse, and the veins continued to spread until his entire arm glowed blue. The boy was claimed to be under demonic possession. In attempts to 'exorcise' him, they cut off his demonic arm and hurt him, refusing to give him real treatment, only patching both of his eyes and arm stump with dirty bandages never to be cleaned orLike goblin children usually do behind the backs of the harsh sisters, they ridiculed him at any chance. Calling him the antichrist, throwing rocks at him and even as he grew older, Credo used him at training practice. But by the second his senses became stronger, even if he couldn't see he started becoming more sensible to noise. The feeling of sword swings, steps. As more time passes and he isn't removed like they said he would be, he's able to detect movements of meters away based on vibration. He grows to adapt to fighting styles and learns to fight back. redone, blinding him. To keep him away from people, he must be even more isolated. So they did the most rational thing and chained him behind the Main Sparda statue, guarded by gates and hidden from the public eye still.(The thing with the Order of the Sword here is that they don't worship Sparda directly, they use him as a symbol of overcoming sin but they still worship God and condemn demons.)Sanctus baptized the rest of the children they took in and the idea of not being around him was branded into their minds. But that didn't stop them.

You know, I've been thinking recently about humans in fantasy games and how they are often seen as boring. This goes back to DnD and other TTRPGs, where other races usually get some specialization, some unique characterization, but humans get waved off with "versatility." And to be honest, I think that versatility does not fit as a strictly human characteristic (I think goblins, especially Warcraft goblins, are much more adaptable). And so I was thinking about what would our niche in a fantasy world would be.

And then it hit me one day, while watch Lord of the Rings. And it was obvious. Just as Legolas is the original archetype for elves and Gimli is the OG dwarf. They were inspirations for the racial bonuses in the original DnD. So to find the archetypal human, we don't have to look further than the Fellowship.

It's Boromir.

The two human qualities that I feel are extremely well represented in Boromir are bravery and the desire to protect. Throughout the first book, Boromir stands as the protector of the West, with his realm facing Mordor on the daily and himself and his family standing on the precipice of possible destruction of the Free Peoples of Middle-Earth. We also see it on the micro level. Boromir is the only member of the Fellowship to carry a shield, showing him as more of a protector and team player to Aragorn's longsword, which is a weapon that requiers a lot of training and a lot of space, asking its bearer to be a solo player. We see it with his interactions with the hobbits, especially Merry and Pippin, jumping to their defence without hesitation every time.

Which brings me to the second point - Bravery. There is no doubt that Boromir is stalwart. He stands up to his father when Denethor attacks Faramir, which is something that can be a lot harder than many people realize. He faces off against the balrog of Moria, making it stop in its tracks for a moment, while the other members of the Fellowship (rightfully) run for their lives. And he does not hesitate when the uruks ambush them at Amon Hen, instead blowing his horn to signal to the enemy that a man of Gondor still stands and that he will not be an easy fight. Remember that despite Boromir's many wounds, they all came from the arrows and none of them were on his back.

But there's also the weakness of humanity. We're easily seduced by the things we desire. In Boromir's case, the Ring got to him by promising him safety for his people. But there are other things that get to us. Power, money, sex, family, home, love. We become obsessed by these needs, struggling our whole short lives to achieve them and often destroy ourselves in the process. Such is a nature of humanity. To burn brightly and strongly and shortly.

"Yes there is frailty, there is weakness, but there is courage also! And honour to be found in men!"

Why did we ever accept something as "versatility" when "brave to a fault" is something that could paint humans in fantasy in much more favorable light. I want a setting where the desire to protect is intrinsicaly human trait, where whenever a shadow arises, humans are first to answer the call and last to leave the battlefield. Who protect the other races before they even realize there is a threat. Have a scene where humans and elves fight together and while elves are massive powerhouses, they retreat after sixteen of them die, since the position is not worth the losses. Meanwhile the humans fight, powered by their desperation to save what they love, struggling their to victory.

Hiiii everyone, we are so back.

First up, Valen baby. I recoloured his cyberware! All of that golden hardware he has - his forearms, his neural wiring on his face, his piercings, his wedding ring - finally match. I recoloured them to be the same gold as his eyes and he matches so nicely that I've ascended into heaven. I love matching and symmetry in OC designs 🫠

I also made Valen more freckle-y. I love freckles, so Valen's got even more on his shoulders and chest. Lastly, lore-accurate love marks; Valen's normally covered in both bitemarks and hickies. Why? Because Valen and his husband are (healthily) possessive of each other + leaving marks is a way for them to bond (they're also just extremely horny for each other). That bond with his husband is essential to his character, so I figured I'd add them in

Second up, Vesper baby. Yes, my rarely seen second son is getting an awful lot of upgrades and will be reappearing soon because I missed him. He's back to being pink like his OG version! It'll be a little while yet before I've got him done, as I'm making him a new hair from almost scratch in Blender + giving him brand new tattoos. I'm very happy with how he's coming along so far, though.

Lastly, I'm recolouring cyberware for public release on Nexus! I really needed more variety when it comes to OC creation + I haven't seen recolours of these before. So I figured If Not Me, Then Who. There's two ready to go and I'll likely do more if everything goes well.

Nah but fr tho. You know I love these two sick old men, I know YFNSM writers won't do anything with a team up between them, but a man can dream. So I thought about two paths their dynamic could trail. But first, let's unravel some things.

Octavius and Fisk have too few interactions imo. Although I see why writers prefer to pin him and Osborn to form alliances since they're both sharp, snake oil business men, Spider-Man’s old school biggest foes…

And also, coincidentally enough, Fisk, Octavius and Osborn had very traumatic childhoods, with some similar consequences in their adult lives.

In Norman and Wilson’s case, they were victims who become abusers later in life, Harry and Richard respectively suffering from their tempers. Otto and Wilson have a more paralleled background, both coming from poor families, having suffered bullying and being proficient self taught people, Wilson showing predisposition for political sciences and Otto for nuclear physics.

Oddly enough, they also both done/imagine killing their dads in horrible ways lol.

There is a case in which Wilson has sought for Otto's help in comics, as well helping Peter stop him, funnily enough. And let's not forget their team up in the Spiderverse movie! It was major enough to be relevant, but still not enough screen time to be the best one…

But they never went far enough into their alliance. Sad! When Insomniac Spidey 2 launched their first trailer, I had a tiny hope that they might've had picked up from Miles Morales and continued that Kingpin side mission… which ended up not being the case. Doesn't mean I can't come up with a fic where PS4 Otto and Fisk have some scenes together, but I think their shared bald power would be too much for viewers to handle. Many such cases.

In any capacity, I'd love any Spidey media to develop some kind of relationship between those two. YFNSM is just recent enough to have me crawling at it like a catnip high cat scratching its post frenetically.

That's where I gotta break down the proteins of my thoughts into their constituent amino acids. YFNSM’s version of Otto is really close to his 60s comic counterpart, and while this is MCU Wilson Fisk, he shares the same ambitions and goals of comics Kingpin. And what does that give us? We have Otto, who doesn't care about New York and its people, while Fisk does. That's one of his central qualities, one his Hell's Kitchen arch nemesis can relate to. Although Fisk's purpose is to gain total control of NYC, doesn't erase the fact he wants to make it a better place (be it through gentrification and such).

Now, YFNSM is set between 2016 I believe, since the events of Captain America Civil War are heavily mentioned in canon/sets Norman and Peter's storyline. The events of Netflix Daredevil season 1 and 2 (and Defenders, though it's technically during it) happened before Civil War.

(Spoilers for the og DD show from now on) Fisk during season 2 is imprisoned at Ryker's after Karen, Foggy and Matt raised substantial evidence to unravel his criminal organization. He only gets "released" with the FBI's help in season 3 – and after the Blip, a power vacuum freed him of all the charges, which is why he was able to run for mayor in Daredevil: Born Again. It's a messy reason but then again BA is a messy fucking show but I won't be frustrated about it here. In another post maybe.

There is the fact Matt appears in YFNSM sporting his black suit (with some MCU design tweaks) that he wears throughout the entire of DD season 1. He gets his iconic red suit by the end of the season and sticks to it til the end of season 2.

So there's two possible threads to follow. Fisk is free, still controlling crime in his ivory tower, or he is caged.

But because YFNSM is a branch timeline according to showrunner Jeff Trammel, lots of things changed, so there's space for them to circle around this information or just ignore the Netflix show’s timeline, but I hardly believe they will do so. Even between the production of DD:BA a diversion would've “damaged” the show’s credibility even more, and they wouldn't want to make people hella mad.

Going back to it, by episode 9 of YFNSM season 1, Otto is stopped by Ross and Stark (with a helping hand from Norman) for violating the Sokovia Accords, so his ass is sent to jail – and for this scenario I choose to believe he's at Ryker's as well.

Fisk is naturally a strong leader, his cock IS much bigger than yours, the cruel regulator smoking cigaro, cigaro, cigaro... he gained control of Ryker's pretty much the first week he was in there. By the time Otto arrives, Kingpin definitely has unlimited access to resources, and could ask for favors. In DD season 2, he successfully manipulated Frank Castle aka Punisher to arrest himself, and got him out as easily with his influence, hoping for something from the man in return.

They both wouldn't hit off firstly, but I could see Otto negotiating with Fisk upon getting to know him better and the scope of his influence in NY’s underworld. Maybe the plot could sneak Wilson talking about some “old feud” between him and Norman. Fisk might recognize Otto's crafty skills, he would know about the weapons he has built – because he wouldn't allow himself to be ignorant to what's happening in the outside world – and the inmates who have used them. He could get Otto to Mikhail, Mila, Gargan, that one couple whose names escape me right now, to cook up a plan to get their gear back once they're outside to go after Norman.

All of that cause I can kind of see Kingpin being one of the key elements to the formation of the Queersome Six or whatever they're gonna be called in this, like in Spider-Man 1994 episode “Insidious Six” where he helps them escape to get rid of the Web-head once and for all. Otto may have qualms about it at first, because he's a self-absorbed bitch who would die before working in a team, but…

Their deal could also involve plans about funding Otto's laboratory in the near future once Norman is out of the picture. Free range to raise himself and finally be recognized by his genius using Fisk's contacts. What did I say about trading sugar daddies?

Of course the good ol’ double crossing would happen eventually. His assets are frozen while imprisoned, but if Fisk can easily have Otto under his thumb to steal his tech back from Oscorp, by the time he's free, he could completely take over Octavius’ operation if he wanted, he’s rich, the entire Sinister Sex would be on his before Otto says “Dolt!”. I like torturing my man like that.

For the second path, if we have a Fisk out and about doing his shady business and eating omelettes peacefully, he would have a much smaller role in all of this. And honestly? I think that's all we're gonna get for YFNSM season 2, my expectations are super low. All I look forward to is listening to Vincent D’Onofrio’s raspy sexy baritone.

So in my head, there could be an eventual faceoff between him and Matt – and I'm trying not to say “you know, like in Spider-Man 1994 episode ‘Man Without Fear’!!” – with Octavius joining in to kill the annoying horn head vigilante who has been joining forces with the excruciating arachnid to take down Osborn. That’s supposed to be his epic revenge story, what are these bottoms doing all over his business??

Wilson would see that and want to be left out of course, he's got enough problems already thanks to Matty his eternal horn in the ass.

It could alternately go the same way as the comic mentioned before, where I link to an observation where Otto might want to use Norman’s Gravity Falls ass portal. Fisk could acquaint himself with the man temporarily with false premises of understanding, while trying to find out his exact plan for NY. That would require a begrudgingly cooperation with Matt to stop a mass attack on their city, which is a VERY attractive concept to me. I love when they're forced to see how well they work together, but that's an entirely different thing I shouldn't focus on right now, or else this will turn this into a FiskMatt discussion. I need to be detoxicated.

Yeah, I could go further into a third option, completely discard YFNSM timeline and have Otto help out Mayor Fisk in DD:BA assembling tech for his Anti-Vigilante Task Force, forcing Otto and Norman to work together despite their disgust for each other.

In conclusion, that's not something I would *want* from YFNSM specifically, as I said before I would just love Spidey media to explore these two characters dynamic more… Give it to me.
