Nerd Headcanons because this post was only supposed to be about one but I went a little wild-

I headcannon Richie as Aroace(Asexual, Demi-romantic), so I like to imagine Grace befriending him due to his lack of interest, and then becoming borderline obsessed with him due to how completely abstinent he is, meanwhile he's just like, "Why are you even here? Go away"

I also headcannon that Ruth is the only reason Richie and Pete were even friends. The way I picture it is that Ruth and Pete had to do a math assignment together in middle school, and they weren't really working together, more like working around each other, and all the sudden Pete makes a dumb Star Wars reference and Ruth flips out. Like, she's so excited that she completely lights up and starts rambling to him about her headcannons and ships, and Pete just sits there kinda stunned until she brings up a headcannon that he actually thinks is interesting, So all the sudden the two are just having a conversation about the things that make the headcannon so good, and they get so invested in the conversation that they don't finish the assignment before the end of class, so Ruth invites Pete to sit with her a lunch the next day. So he goes to sit with her, and there's this blue haired weeb(idc if its not canon, Richie had a blue hair phase) who's arguing with her, when the weeb notices Pete and shoots him the nastiest, bitchiest look on the planet, and Pete's just like "i^i". And Ruth introduces Pete as her math buddy and starts talking about their Star Wars convo, and Richie goes on a rant about how Star Wars is stupid and Pete starts arguing his points, and is turns into an actual fight. And then later Ruth is talking to Pete later in class and Pete's like "Hey, Your friend sucks-" and Ruth is like "Yeah, he's such a bitch. Don't worry, I put pickle juice in his monster this morning" and Pete's just like "Wtf bro, what is your friendship-"

And the reason that Richie and Ruth are friends is because in elementary school, Ruth used to eat glue and Richie used to doodle girls in pretty dresses so he got picked on. So Ruth just kind of adopted him as her friend, and they just naturally developed a sibling like bond over time.

I also headcannon that Ruth's parents were also nerds, and they like nerdy shit things and are super supportive(Ruth and Esther would totally get along. They're Cousins or siblings, take your pick), But Richie has a weird dynamic with his family, where he's not really understood by them so he gets more territorial over his interests, and Ruth understands that so she lets him ramble about whatever he wants, even if he's kind of being a dick about it. I also Headcannon that Richie was actually on the swim team for a while(I grabbed that headcannona from someone else), and was way more chill being able to connect with others, but Max saw Kyle talking to Richie after swim practice before a football game, and he started spreading rumors that Richie was gay, and eventually he dropped out due to harassment.

Pete and Riche would've gotten along way better while Richie was on the swim team, and they probably considered themselves actual friends, but as Richie lost his feeling of belonging on the Swim team, their relationship would've deteriorated again, but Pete would've realized that he's just abd angst fucking bitch and hated him less for it.

Ruth totally looked into swimming the minute Richie said he was into it, and she totally helped him practice outside of school. She was the one cheering the loudest for him at meets, and she'd yell at him like a coach when they practiced together.

Ruth probably has people telling her to shut up all the time, so she's a fiesty little shit when it comes to clapbacks. She can think of them fast and on point, and likes to make a game out of it. Unfortunately, you cant do that on stage, so she feels helpless to defend herself and thats why she has such bad stage fright. She's probably a really, really good actor, too. I imagine her being able to break down sobbing like her baby was hit by a car, only to smile and bow Meer seconds later. She's probably fucking wonderful.

For the first bit of dialogue here with Floweys internal monologue- OUGH I LOVE IT! I will NEVER get sick of getting into his head, he’s like us! a theorist! his thought process here is so me.… “ive never thought of the possibility that Papyrus might have been involved as well…” Welllllllll… You’re half right.

Im also looking forward to seeing the part of Wingdings’ story that explains Papyrus’ conveyor belt related trauma- cause cmon man whats wrong with conveyer belts 😭

Papyrus basically having a conversation with himself while Flowey just goes and does his own thing is SO REAL ALSO I LOVE HIM SO MUCH

Im very concerned we’re going to have a moment with the power going out, Papyrus and Flowey being stuck without the elevator just like Alphys and Wingdings were. Some chicanery is gonna happen comparing and contrasting how they handle that compared to the 2 scientists. Ofc thats a lot of speculation- But I cant help but feel like the talk about “the energy hopfully lasting long enough” is leading up to something….not fun.

Maybe what they do down here is a weird time mumbo jumbo that is important to make what happens in the past- happen. Maybe thats why Gaster is watching them…

Tapes and Face me

This one is a twofer, mostly because they’re connected. I’m very proud of tapes because I really wanted to capture that analog horror feel, mostly because my irl friend was really obsessed with the Mandela catalogue at the time. Face me was like my first huge foray into whump. My favorite part of this fic was Sylvia and Anya’s relationship, and the letters Anya wrote to her as “mission reports”.

Open eyes

I wish this one got more love and attention. It was a very weird character study I wrote where Twilight meets Loid Forger and Redacted, who are separate but also the same as him. It bounced off from @buf309’s doppelgänger comic, but sort of became its own thing, it even had some fanart that I’m too eepy to find rn, I’ll have to reblog it later.

Tastes like blood

an idea that was over a year in the making, where Yor gets to enact revenge on someone for (almost) killing her husband on their wedding night. This fic is so important to me because Maya Rowan, the would-be killer, was such a fun character to write. I love her so much. This fic did have a sequel that I have yet to finish unfortunately, but IT WILL BE DONE (at some point)

Clementine

your stock standard “Anya gets kidnapped by those gosh darn scientists” plot, based on my initial interpretation of the song “my darling Clementine”, where, in my mind, it was about a father who lost his daughter in the river, and he couldn’t swim, so he “lost his Clementine”. The “swim” here was meant to represent how twilight couldn’t deal with his own feelings for his daughter, so he lost her, but then he gets her back again, fighting tooth and nail to keep her safe. For those who don’t know, I am especially weak for father-daughter stories (my relationship with my dad is great dw) so this one his very close to my heart. The scene where Loid finally says “I love you” to Anya was inspired by Ai Hoshino’s death scene from Oshi no ko (which unfortunately ended very badly this year, spare yourself the trouble and just look up Ai’s death scene, that’s as peak as the story gets) and I was listening to the ost of her death scene while writing it. And my god does it just tear you up inside.

what CANT I say about this fic? It’s, imo, my magnum opus. It was so goddamn cathartic to write it. If you’re going to read it, please, please mind the trigger warnings.

getting on with that, this fic is so important to me. It started out as a very angsty whump fic that somehow became a very personal look into a narrative about self harm and coming to terms with one’s existence. Really, if you’re in the right headspace, I would suggest you read it. BUT ONLY IF YOU’RE IN THE RIGHT HEADSPACE. it genuinely reflects a lot of the dark thoughts I’ve struggled with since my hospitalization when I was thirteen. I hope that, if I can find some catharsis in it, maybe you can too.

How to recognise organized harassment on tumblr (on example from hetalia, the most normal fandom):

First of all, it often starts with "Block this person!" Often with many exclamation marks. Never "please be aware". That's not the accusing who should be responsible for your decisions to block/not block.

Secondly,

There are too many accusations at once. This one example of wording sounds hilarious. There is some recognisable pattern in such a kind of harassment: you are necessarily being accused of transphobia + racism + islamophobia/zionism. All these accusations in a 1 post at once are a red flag, you should check the information very precisely and objectively. Otherwise, you have a very high risk of participating in harassment and misinformation's spread about innocent people.

Like, I've seen callouts about tankies/vatņiki and they are VERY different from organized harassment.

Thirdly, if there is more text from the accusing than actual screens/links - that's also a red flag - you shouldn't share the post immediately. Those who harass innocent people want you to believe that if you don't share the callout post right here, right now, the world is gonna collapse. It's not. Check the information.

Fourthly,

Wtf is this. It's not even recent? You are just bored and you want to make a fuss? Red flag. I would not trust the author after this. Five sentences ago, you encouraged us to "block this person!!!" - and now you say "I'm urging y'all not to block"? Sure, grandma, let's get you to bed.

No, my dear, the only person with dangerous views trying to hide behind "valid criticism" is you. Once again, "just block this person", right after "don't block this person".

Anyway, organized harassment doesn't necessarily have a lot of profanity because assholes became a bit smarter. Organised harassment makes an accent on rather the personality of the accused than the actual deeds. Organised harassment uses the Pontius Pilate's rhetoric. Organised harassment makes it a show, a Broadway musical, "Jesus Christ Superstar", leaves the accused no opportunity to explain themself, and leaves the people no opportunity to ask the accused.

There are surprisingly many people who cooperate with each other in harassment. Organized harassment makes its authors feel like they have some power. Maybe because in real life, they are too wretched.

Even if the accused actually has weird views, such a callout post makes me too disgusted with the author to share it.

Please don’t participate in harassment. Please check the information.

i knew how this was gonna end, i did watch the end of this show before, ive always been familiar w house because i watched episodes of it on tv as a kid with my mom and sister and knew major plot points like amber's death and wilson's cancer and house faking his death and everything but. the details were lost on me. now that i know the details something about them just doesn't jive with me and feel right.

probably related to my earlier post about how even in the final season so much of house is the same. he tried to change for the better but he was still back. i mean the entire premise of the show is about "the disabled addict doctor who struggles to be a person" so if any of these magically stopped being there that'd be stupid ESPECIALLY him being a disabled addict which are so central to his character. so im definitely not complaining about that.

initially i thought him faking his death was insanely reckless but what other choice was available. if he went, Hey, im here! im alive he'd absolutely be going to jail. in jail so far away while his best friend, maybe his only friend would be dying alone. of course he did that. his only choice was ttofake his death to be with wilson. throwing away his whole life and legacy and career and reputation to be with him.

hilson endgame real but also, while watching the whole show i kept going from "tumblr didn't lie these guys are gay" to "Tumblr may have oversold it a bit". but that might just be in the nature of its episodic structure. not e everything is abt wilson there's other people in house's lofe but in that final season everything does speed up, suddenly and become about wilson. which brings me to the whole cancer thing. in my memory of the show from watching it as a kid, Wilson's cancer came up as a plot point WAY earlier and there is much more time to discuss it in the show. to ponder and delve into it, what it means for wilson, for house, for the show. but actually watching the show it feels very sudden....! i felt like the entire cancer thing, which plays so damn heavily into the SERIES FINALE, wasn't explored enough...? it felt rushed. but it might feel like it because well there's a difference between watching a show as it comes out on a schedule vs binge watching it on demand.

and another thing that irked me is- but this is more of a "this personally makes me Feel Sad and Weird" as opposed to genuine criticism is how EVERYONE thinks house is dead except Two People. that's crazy. i have a Thing for closure and knowing things, the truth, im a little paranoid about that, but it just feels insane to me that house's own parents, family, former and current colleges, lovers, everyone... they all think he's dead when he's not. i see how that is, in terms of the Narrative, a good thing? house is truly FREE now. and if other people knew they'd probably call the police. but also that's just kinda horrifying.... I don't know. idk. also wtf cuddy wasn't there at the funeral? D: obviously i know how their last meeting went but they were such big part of each other's lives im rlly shocked she wasn't there! or even showed up at ALL in the ending scene where we see where everyone's life has headed, a little scene of her, Rachel, and someone new

and also. ._. how did that fire even start in the first place?..... did i miss something....? uaaaaah. i should watch it again

ugh but despite my peeves. i want to pass this off as Just another show ive watched, time to move on to the next, because a big part of the reason i started house and kept going and even chose to watch it at the times i did was because i have been going through some rough shit mentally for the past. entire year plus. i have relied on it to keep me distracted. i want to just move onto the next distraction but i have become so attached, it's hard to not feel :/ and :( about 1) the fact it's over now 2) it ended in a way that makes me feel funny, and not in a good way. aaaahhhhh.

The fact that you’ve never made me feel like I’m cringy or a weirdo means so much, especially with me being autistic and definitely very weird, paranoid about being seen as creepy of cringe, and also often unable to tell if my paranoia is warranted means so so so much to me, and I want to make sure you really really know how amazing you are for that

Oh my god, how have I not even mentioned your writing talent yet??!! Your fics are actually so fucking good that I sometimes genuinely can’t handle it. I’ve cried so many times reading your fics, sometimes because the emotional parts are just so touching, but quite often because it just makes me so excited and happy that I physically can’t keep it inside me. Your writing style tickles my brain so amazingly, and sometimes I lay in bed just thinking “how is this real and how is there a real human being behind this, wtf?” (/pos), because it’s just so hard to wrap my head around how lucky I was so find someone like you who writes the stuff you write on the internet and it’s just… mind boggling

On the physical plane I am aroace. I dont experience sexual desire or attraction or 'horniness' towards people, I do feel sexual arousal but it's not towards anything it's just kinda there. However the more connected to my divine aspect I feel...spiritually pan or bi, more bi in particular with a female lean since I find women more attractive. But some guys too. Namely Crocus - for some reason I recently can't stop thinking about him.

Its especially weird because if I weren't asexual I would consider myself straight, so thinking about a dude all the time, and bro I'm even feeling some heat on my cheeks about a dude- it's just so surreal to me. I feel a ache and loss over him - I guess I get to experience alloromantic/sexual folks feelings in a way even though my feelings are from another realm. Cool I guess.

Its definetly ...something for sure. Its like my attraction is limited to another plane and dosent translate over here but due to me often being in more than one things start to blur but it isn't something I feel in this realm.

I would like to explore these feelings more even though its like...another realm's sexuality bleeding into mine (I am very asexual over in physical, I have kinks but I hate the idea of someone doing them with me its like wtf no ew, which is...something because my kinks do centre around a specific type of person - which again if someone like that offered to act it out with me I'd absolutely HATE it!)

It is very interesting! I guess I'm just ace in one realm but I think one way to explore the other realm's bi-feelings is to do something like I would there here. Yea anyway some day in this plane I might sleep around some but istg I'm going to make sure my partners aren't lying about not being attracted to me. I would do it with strangers but I dont want any unpleasant surprises regarding BO and cleanliness. Bayreuth- Diary II: Wagner

The fever dream begins. And I swear, we didn't dream it. I asked Lacelove several times, if this experience was created from my sleep deprivation or Lisztober, but she assured me, everything was a real.

We have never experienced a museum like the Wagner Museum anywhere in our lives. And we really have been to a lot of museums, in Germany, Europe and also in the USA. And this was the freakiest experience we've ever had. By far. Fortunately, we had decided to come in civilian clothes and without costumes. When we took the first pictures of Wahnfried's outdoor area, we could already feel a museum attendant looking out of the window. So we dutifully showed our pre-purchased combined tickets in the entrance hall. ‘If you still want to see the „other“ museum, do that first. It closes at 12.’ ‘We've already been to the Liszt House.’ ‘...’ (WTF?) ‘Would you like an audio guide?’ ‘Gladly.’

‘We'll need your ID or driving licence as a deposit.’ We look at each other. Has there ever been a museum where we had to leave personal IDs as a deposit? Nope. The first exhibition - costumes and props - is in the basement. Everything is black. On the wall is a gallery of all the conductors who have ever conducted Wagner operas. Of course Franz and Hans von Bülow are missing, I say to Lacelove. We are alone in the room. A museum guard approaches us from the other side and says: ‘I'm sure you've noticed that a few conductors are missing here. The women (!?), for example, especially the lady from Sydney. (?) The collection is currently being digitised. Until then, the collection will remain as it is.’ Okay. Okay. He sends us on to the ‘Mensch Wagner’ exhibition, which is located in an empty corridor with a doorway to the left. It's there so that people outside can't look in. That alone is confusing. And the first thing we see there is this.

‘What you always wanted to say to Richard Wagner.’ LOL. Oh, that doesn't fit on any card. It doesn't even fit in a 3 minute song. And we do it. We tell Richard everything we ever wanted to say. In short form. And - thank God - we're not the only ones. ‘How does it feel to justify every immoral act with moral immunity?’, asks Pauline from Berlin. Hey, Pauline, if you ever read this, please get in touch with us. „RIP, Kitschbrother.’ Or critical questions about anti-Semitism, of which there is NOTHING in this exhibition, by the way, except one sentence. And now it gets really weird.

Over to Wahnfried. Via a lift, all in black, with buttons that look like they're from a James Bond film. There are only the options ‘Wahnfried’ and ‘Below’, but maybe there's a secret swastika key that leads to the Führerbunker. We don't know.

  The lift ends in a black corridor with two corridors to the left (please take a look at the video from our post today and hear us laugh) and right. One of them ends in a Wagner bust and you are selectively bombarded with Wagner pieces. If there's anything more German than that, I don't know what it is.

At some point after this ghost ride with a lot of Japanese tourists nearby, you arrive at the ‘real’ Haus Wahnfried. And, God, @franzliszt-official , how nice it is to see your face. Please save us:

 

But everything in Cosima's parlour is covered with white cloths. Even in the library. Or under very important glass domes. Drama, baby. And I keep thinking: Miss Havisham. Miss Havisham would have touched herself for this:

And there are always museum guards everywhere. You're not even allowed to laugh. And we often laugh. This is a serious subject. A mausoleum of art. We feel like we're in a tomb that must be a tomb all the time. With all its German seriousness. So serious and arrogant that it's ridiculous.

At the end, when we go to collect our bags, the museum dude from the conductor's room stands in front of us again. ‘Have you looked at everything?’

‘Yes, of course,’ we say.

‘What did you like best?’

‘The library,’, says Lacelove, without batting an eyelid.

‘Did you look at all the books?’ (YES! LAME! Like we don't look at all the books...)

‘Yes, quite a few standard works.’ (Love you!)

‘More than that! Didn't you look on the right? The books on mythology! He read in 4 languages! And what he didn't understand, he had translated! Amazing, isn't it?’

No. Pretty much standard back then. And every humanities student today works with 4 languages. Can we please talk about what kind of cosmos Franz Liszt already had in his mid-20s without much schooling? No, we can't. Then we won't get our IDs back. And anyway....we shoot the rest of our video at home. Really.

EVER. and thats the entertaining part to me is he chooses wrong EVERY single time! he deludes himself thinking hes taking after the true legacy of his father, he cuts dantes hand when dante reaches out to him, he tries to fight mundus on his own cause he gasses himself up like a dumbass. like this string of bad choices before 5 came out very SENSICALLY resulted in his death after getting humiliated and tortured by the one who killed his mother and probably his dad and getting turned into some nameless demon slave that dante doesnt even register who hes killed till after. and that was great! he died! he was just dead! like forever! he exploded into light! but NOPE ressurect him cause hes *soooooo cooooooooool* and everyone *loooooooooves him* they trashed on his character tbh! they just shat over everything kamiya did with dmc1 so much with dmc5 not they had any respect for 1 to start with but like goddamn!

and it sucks cause he could be an entertaining character if they leaned into his flaws more of being extremely selfish, hair trigger temper instability, lashing out, mommy issues, daddy worship, fragility, inability to care and lack of a want to do so, hatred of humanity, superiority complex, feeling that everything dante got (affection and physical things) was rightfully his since the parents never planned to have twins, etc etc, but it all has to result in his death! cause hes a villain!!!! his father would look upon him full of anguish and disgust! lets do something with that

also other thing is that in 5 he literally has several revelations about how shameful and wrong he behaved and acted n seems to show actual remorse for his actions, laments that dantes always the one that got chosen by his family cause unlike him he understood the message from the start n not too late like him, admits he wanted to feel safe... then they SHIT ON THE CHARACTER THEY ESTABLISHED UP TO THAT POINT WITHIN THE SAME GAME LIKE!>!?!?!?!? ITS MIND BOGGLING if v HAD to be in dmc5 as vergils ''''human half''' (hate the concept) it shouldve been as like a ghost (they exist in this universe according to the anime) making things right before dying against his rampant soulless demonic power corrupted by mundus other half or whatever but again WE NEED TO END WITH VERGIL DYING HE HAS TO DIE FOR THIS TO WORK. IF YOU WANTED A REDEMPTION ARC HE HAS TO BOTH DIE AND REFUSE POWER AND FINALLY CHOOSE THE RIGHT THING FOR ONCE IN HIS LIFE ON HIS OWN FOR IT TO WORK. also another chara assassination thing is like dantes speech about 'my father was someone who fought for the weak, in the name of my father i *will* defeat mundus' from dmc1 gets thrown out the window for some nebulous undefined conflict bewteen vergil n dante in 5. like its an important thing dante actually gets pissed about demons killing humans!!! like whats his whole thing really!!!! and somehow in favor of hurr durr dante vergil fight we lose dantes whole deal about caring about like huamnity of which hes a part of btw in fact its something entirely unseparable form him digressing.
