Summary: How I think César would act if you got sick, enjoy!
César hates being sick
Like really hates being sick
Like goes to school with a fever and pretends he isn’t sick, hates being sick
Because then he has to rely on people and there’s issues that come with that
But, the only thing he hates more than being sick is you being sick
Because that means you’re not your energetic, happy self
That jumps on him randomly and dances with him
You’re not eager to study with him (or tutor him, because that’s usually what ends up happening)
You’re still, and tired, and in pain
And even though he really enjoys taking care of you, it worries him
So, to keep himself from freaking out too much he’ll put you on bed rest
“Shut up and lay down.” César gently pushes you back down on your bed.
“But, I have to study!” You argue, trying to sit back up.
“Study? You’re so pale you look like a ghost, you can’t study! I’ll take care of it. Just rest, babe.”
He’ll stay home from school just to take care of you. Even if it’s just to watch you sleep he feels better being near you. Knowing that you’re safe and not on the ground somewhere because you fainted.
You stir from your sleep feeling a warm hand on top of yours. Opening your eyes you see César sitting on the chair next to your bed, rubbing your hand.
“Baby go to school, I’ll be okay” You whisper.
“I can’t focus if you’re not there with me.” He replies, kissing your sweaty forehead. “I rather be here with you. Do you need anything?”
When you get hungry he’ll run around looking for food. Cursing at himself for being unprepared.
You peek through the crack of your bedroom door at your boyfriend pacing through your hallway, waiting for someone to pick up the phone. Then you hear pieces of his conversation.
“Ruby, hey, what do you eat when you’re sick? No, I’m not sick. Y/N is. I don’t know, like 3 days. They have a fever, sore throat, runny nose, that kind of stuff. I don’t know what to do! No, I’m not freaking out, just answer the question. What do they need to eat? Soup and popsicles? Yeah, I can get that. Okay, thank you. I’ll tell them.”
Coming back into your room to kiss you on the cheek he says, "I'm going to get you some food and Ruby says to get well soon. He needs you to babysit the twins.”
Usually you’ll only have a small cold, so you’ll get better quickly, but sometimes it’s worse
He’ll clean and disinfect everything when you throw up. He'll also keep reassuring that he loves you and you'll be okay you no matter how messy you get.
When you cry because of the pain, he’ll hold you and try to keep you as comfortable as possible
You sniffle and turn away from César in the bed, “I don’t want to get you sick.”
“I don’t care, how many times do I have to say that. I hate when you cry.” He turns you so you face him and kisses you, while wiping away your tears.
“Sorry, my throat hurts so much.” You say softly.
“I know, in awhile we can try eating another popsicle. I’ll stay here until you’re not in pain. Just keep hugging me.”
He’ll make sure you take your medicine when you’re supposed to. Even if he has to threaten you.
“Sweetheart, wake up.” César whispers, slowly rubbing your back.
“Go away,” You yawn, snuggling into the teddy bear César bought you.
“Nope,” He pulls away the sheets, revealing you in heart pajamas, clutching the brown teddy bear. “It’s time for medicine.”
You groan, “It’s gross, I’ll take it later, I’m feeling better.”
“No, you have to take it down. Your fever is going down, but it hasn’t broken. Take the medicine.”
“Babe, it’s so gross. Don’t make me take it.”
“Take it or…” He pauses. “I’ll call Oscar.”
Your eyes widen and you open your mouth so César could pour the green syrup into your mouth. You put your hand over your mouth so you don’t spit it out as you swallow it.
Putting the sheets back onto you he whispers, “I know it sucks, but it will make you feel better.”
“I know, just get in bed with me, I’m cold.”
Once you feel better, he’ll pride himself in his caring boyfriend abilities.
You sit hand in hand with César at the lunch table, listening to him ramble on how he took care of you.
“I almost called Oscar, I really didn’t know what to do, but I figured it out. A man has to take care of his partner.”
“I think we all know who’s the man in the relationship, but we’re glad you’re feeling better Y/N” Monse adds.
You laugh, “Thanks Monse, but César did great.”
He kisses you and pulls you closer, “Anything for you, being without you makes me sick.”
You hug him, then get up to get something to drink.
At the table César watches you walk away with a smile, before sneezing.
Monse, Ruby, Jamal, and Jasmine look surprised at him shrug, before saying, “Definitely worth it.
When you say you’ll take a break, but leave for almost a whole year.🥲So much has happened that I can’t really explain, but I hope you all enjoyed this post. I’m still trying to get back into the swing of writing so I hope this is okay. Just know a lot more is coming! Please like and follow for more. Have a wonderful day ~c'k

My Style Analysis: The Woma(e)n in Black (and White)
Okay we are going to go there. This kilt and color scheme and aesthetic has a lot of history as Devi joins her sisters in in prep and B&W and let's just say they'd all agree with Devi: being a woman in this society is a fucking trial.
Let's meet her sisters across space and time:
The #girlboss trying to start a group for women in tennis and fighting to get them to be taken seriously.
The Copy Chief who is dealing with her drunk ass boss, her relationship with another boss, the death and funeral of another boss, her colleague/friend coming on to her when he's high and in deep mourning, and catching him in a compromising position.
The long-suffering wife who sacrificed her career...and had to work in a department store all for the ego and whims of her King Baby (thank you Melanie Hamlett for this term) comes back to her old workplace to help them steal their own property and start a new agency.
The young former intern being assured by her boss/lover that nothing bad will happen to her and her life will go on like nothing happened...famous last words
The girlfriend of the BMOC who is ambivalent about her relationship with him and still mourning her friend's death and gets drunk at a high school party while dressed as the sex worker in Risky Business
The young girl who was disturbed by a robber claiming to be her father's childhood nanny and believed her almost, because the woman figured some things out and because the girl knows nothing about her father.
The high schooler who is aiding her friends in investigating a real cold case in their town and finding that her affections for the young man next to her are being reciprocated but not in the way she wants.
The Princess who is in the middle of a messy separation from her Prince (who will surely weaponize his affairs against her) and makes a statement by breaking protocol and wearing a body-hugging, cleavage-y, off the shoulder black dress with a dramatic sash at a public event and becoming a fashion icon.
Let's get back to Devi, with bullet points because everything is...
After a summer where she is ghosted by the boy she lost her virginity to...
She is prepared to kiss the ass of a totally male-identified woman who likely was whooping and hollering when she heard Roe V. Wade was struck down just so she can go to the traditionally patriarchal institution of Princeton (which started letting female undergrads in 1969, not 1869).
After buttering her up with her mixed up prints (likely a reflection of her moods) and modest neckline/hemline combination (her armor to avoid getting pierced by this society), she finds that boy (who she really loves) with another girl.
She and this girl get into it and we become witness to a sad fact: fabulous ass women fighting over some piece of man.
Keyes (the male-identified older woman) faints hearing this news that the student she put on a purity pedestal actually lost her virginity and named the details of the boy's family jewels and Devi gets blamed for the fainting
Joan? Peggy?
After being made to feel like, to quote our fabulous redhead "a helpless, stupid little girl" by her mother and the school principal and Keyes and piece of man, she runs to her therapist who actually gives her sage wisdom after Devi reveals that the ghosting made her feel like something is wrong with her, like she isn't enough for him (same here girl *crying and screaming*). Hence the conservative preppy look was armor not only to impress a sexually repressed woman, but also to protect her body after she bared it for him, it made sure to hide her pin-up (another woman Keyes looks down on) worthy curves.
Dr. Ryan tells her nothing is wrong that she is an extraordinary young woman with real beauty and to vent in a journal about this girl (which end up getting read by said girl and earns the label of "too much" from said piece of man). Maybe some rare wisdom is needed for Devi from Don Draper
Time to mentally give that boy (who will eventually man up and own his feelings to you again) a good kick in the pants like the soldier you are Devi, because you have joined a legion of women fighting for their lives and dignity under the patriarchy, after all:
"They shouldn't have given us uniforms if they didn't want an army." June Osborne, The Handmaid's Tale

Jasminum nudiflorum (winter jasmine)
Winter-flowering plants are quite rare but few are as hardy and versatile as winter jasmine. If winter jasmine is carefully pruned it will form a tidy shrub about four feet tall but it can be trained to climb up a wall, attaining heights of 15 to 20 feet. It's natural habit is to sprawl on the ground but in any growth form, it always provides a little excitement to to a drab winter garden. Unfortunately, winter jasmine has no scent.
This plant was introduced to the outside world in 1844 by the great botanist/explorer, Robert Fortune, just two years after the shameful Opium War forced China to open trade with the west. It's Latin species name nudiflorum means 'naked flower' because the flowers burst from bare stems before the leaves emerge. In China it is called 迎春, 'the flower that welcomes spring'.
This particular specimen is being used as ground cover to stabilize the side of a municipal drainage ditch. Typically you're advised to prune winter jasmine after it finishes flowering but this one looks like it's been recently worked over with a mowing machine. These photos were taken at the beginning of our recent cold snap and that's frost in the background.
