Things you should probably not say or do to your ND child, or child in general (from an autistic child):

make them eat food they don't like. this could create a negative relationship with food and a lot of ND people have sensory issues related to food. so just don't.

tell them to stop having a "tantrum" and telling them to "fix their attitude". as someone who frequently had and still has "tantrums" (autistic meltdowns) this can be really harmful. in my experience just telling your child off and telling them to fix it while they clearly need help is just not the move. When I was younger things like this actively made me hate myself and think I was a terrible person, I don't want anyone to go through that. it could also piss your kid of and they could grow resentment for you and if you aren't giving them the support they need they'll find it from someone else. so just help your kid in the first place.

force them to do something they don't want to do. basically just don't be a dick. I get it if it's a necessary thing but if it's just for fun or something just don't make them. I get that if theyre uncomfortable going somewhere or doing something and you still want to go there or do it or their siblings want to but please for the love if God just get them a babysitter.

shame them for not showing or having a messy room or taking care if things. you don't know what they're going through, they could be depressed and need help. don't bully your kid omg
