looking at old races is so weird bc it’s like yeah two people died but mario andretti won! go mario! and i’m like???? tf???? i had to write an essay about roger penske and i never realized how many people died until i researched these old races. look at the 1973 500 results, for example. 3 people died—2 drivers and 1 PIT CREW MEMBER????—and another driver was seriously injured. and then gordon johncock just went and won like it was nothing. can you imagine that happening now?
idk it makes me glad that i’m a racing fan NOW instead of then. sure, some of the greats raced then, but where they great because they were great or because they were the lucky ones who managed to stay in the race? in 1972–the year team penske got their first 500 victory (mark donohue)—there were 18 cars out of the race by the 400 mile mark. by the end, the only person on the lead lap was the leader. that’s nuts.
anyway y’all should look at some of these old races because they’re WILD. in that same race, jerry grant accidentally went into teammate al unser sr.’s pit and both of their pit crews serviced the car. how does that even happen 💀
EDIT: the first 500 my dad saw was was 74, so he did not see that shitshow of a race in person. however, he did see gordon smiley’s fatal wreck in 82 (look that up if you can handle it—it’s awful). they announced that he was dead on the track and finished the race.

Bloodstone (1988)
"You talk like a detective."
"You forget, Mr. Lorre, I'm in textiles. But the way it reads in the paper, someone very untalented got really lucky with the bloodstone. It certainly wasn't the work of a professional."
"The Titanic, Mr. McVey, was built by professionals. Noah was an amateur."
#bloodstone#1988#nico mastorakis#adventure film#dwight h. little#brett stimely#rajinikanth#a. r. nicholas#charlie brill#jack kehler#christopher neame#tej sapru#bob christo#deep dhillon#carol teesdale#laura albert#marjean holden#dhanushkodi#curt allen#jerry grant#once more unto the breach; once more i subject myself to the singular experience that is the cinema of that auteur of the awful‚ Nico#Mastorakis. here he provides writing and producing duties‚ as some complication prevented him travelling to India to direct; yes this is an#Indian and American coproduction‚ and notable as the only english language film of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth. up against him are two#American nobodies with talents to match‚ and a scene stealing Chris Neame as a perfectly slippery villain. there's little plot to this#Romancing the Stone knockoff‚ but it looks very pretty and theres a couple of good lines ('What's in a name; William Shakespeare' is rather#wonderfully met with 'Fuck you; David Mamet') but enjoyment of this adventure lite knockabout is severely tempered by the casting of the#white Charlie Brill as an Indian take on Insp. Clouseau‚ complete with brownface accent and head wobble. in 1988. a genuinely shocking#decision and audaciously offensive considering this is a film actually made in India and with a largely Indian cast; absolutely mind#boggling stupidity and Brill's deeply insensitive performance kills the film stone dead whenever he's onscreen. to be approached with#caution‚ if at all.

"Jerry is Lincoln's and Scary's biological son, which means teen pregnancy" or "Jerry is adopted"
NO.
It's Scam Likely again
What's the one good thing that Grant and Marco got out of Scams shitty wedding gift? Their son Lincoln. So Scam has learned that the best gift at a wedding is giving someone a child of course

Thinking about how Grant (and the other kids yeah but specifically Grant) had only known Henry (yeah the other dads too but I'm thinking about Henry) for less than a day before getting dropped into the forgotten realms and then at least a month later when he sees him again he has to see totally different sides of him and his dad. How jarring must that be? You meet a guy and his insane sons and your first impression of him is that he's some tree hugger granola dad who's a total pushover and then the next time you see him it's in a death game where he volunteers to kill a man by shotgun blast to the face and then leaves the dead body of the guy outside to send a message to the other players. Imagine meeting this guy whose whole gig is being vegan and a free range granola parent and the next time you see him he's breaking into another explosive burst of anger and yelling at the arena that he will fight and/or kill anyone who comes to hurt you or his friends. Imagine knowing your dad all your life and seeing him one day and then having to know that your dad has killed someone. And then you kill a chimera and you're changed forever. And then you grow up and marry a man named Marco.

Headcanon that Chris has Buck watch Paw Patrol and Buck becomes obsessed with it. While he’s recovering from injuries he watches the show.
He sends a photo of Chase to Athena and Carlos with “this you?”
