Soft echoes of a hum reverberated off the walls, blending with the steady clang of metal as the Spartan II tinkered away. You observed her from the crate you had been perched on since she started humming to herself—a tune that had been stuck in your head for days, unaware that she had been listening. 

In quieter moments like these, you witnessed another side of Naomi. A side that few others were privileged to see—a gentleness that was as surprising as it was endearing. The hard lines of her face softened, her brow relaxed from its usual furrow, and her movements became almost delicate as she handled the armor's components with a surprising tenderness. A softness that would shock anyone that didn’t know her. 

You couldn’t help but smile as you watched her, a warmth spreading through you. Naomi wasn’t just a soldier; she was a person with dreams that reached beyond the stars, and a heart that beat beneath that tough exterior. . A heart that, perhaps, beat a little faster when you were around. And she was yours.

The hum of the song continued, filling the workshop with its quiet melody. Without thinking, you dropped down from the crate and approached her quietly. Naomi seemed absorbed in her work at first, her focus unwavering, until she finally looked up and met your gaze with her eyes. There was a flicker of fondness before she relaxed, a small smile playing on her lips.

“Hey,” she greeted softly.

“Hey,” you replied, your voice barely above a whisper. “I didn’t mean to interrupt.”

Naomi shook her head. “You’re not interrupting,” she assured you. “Just finishing up some maintenance.”

“I noticed,” you said, gesturing to the scattered tools and parts around her.

She chuckled softly. “Yeah, it’s a bit of a mess in here.”

“It’s your mess,” you pointed out with a grin.

Naomi rolled her eyes playfully. “Fair enough.”

There was a comfortable silence between you, the vibration of the Port Stanley still lingering in the air as the only sound. You took a step closer, unable to resist the urge to be nearer to her. Naomi glanced at you, a question in her eyes.

“There are a lot of things that I didn’t think were possible before you,” you admitted quietly, your gaze steady on hers.

Naomi’s expression softened, and she set down the tool she was holding. “What do you mean?”

You took a breath, gathering your thoughts. “I never thought a Spartan could be this gentle,” you confessed, a whisper that her hearing could pick up. 

Her eyes widened slightly, a hint of vulnerability showing through. She glanced down at her hands, then back up at you. “It’s not something we’re supposed to be,” she said softly. “But... sometimes, things change.”

You reached out and gently took her hand in yours, the calluses on her palm rough against your skin. She didn’t pull away, letting you hold her hand in the quiet workshop.

“Sometimes, change is good,” you said softly.

Naomi met your gaze, her expression unreadable for a moment. Then, she smiled—a genuine, heartfelt smile that lit up her face. “Yes,” she agreed. “Yes, it is.” She squeezed your hand tenderly, a comforting and promising gesture that conveyed more than words could express.

Aphrodite’s Touch challenge

Hiii, everyone! I’m Lani. So I decided to make this account to keep track of this challenege I found on instagram that I’m starting today called the Aphrodite’s Touch Challenge. It’s a pretty simple challenge that you do for thirty days and I’m starting it today on May fourth and ending it right in time for summer on June seventh.

Here are the rules: Affirm - 5x in the morning and 5x at night (you can say them or all you can choose which ones you want to do or if you don’t want to do the affirmations that the creator added, you can make your own. You can say them all once at a time five times or say each one five times and then repeat. I chose to say all of them at once five times in a row.) Workout - 7pm everyday (I did it to where each day is for a different body part.) Subliminal playlist - listen 2x a day (you can make your own playlist but I can link the one that I made that has all of the subliminals the creator chose)

Affirmations: I’ve glowed up and I look so much better I have addicting beauty I have a slim and perfect face My workouts work perfectly for me My metabolism is extremely fast I have my perfect summer hourglass body I have perfect and lifted boobs My butt is so big and jiggly My butt grows overnight This summer will be the best summer ever, I’ve got so many friends that I’m gonna spend the summer with I have rich and loving parents I am going to go on so many trips this summer I have chill parents that let me do what I want

Workout:  (Now the creator was using workout videos but I wanted to actually make workout plans for specific body parts) Butt/Legs, Tuesday: squats x30 glute bridges x30 donkey kicks x30 fire hydrants 30x jumping squats x25 :20 wall sit 25 min cardio flutter kicks x20

Stomach, Monday + Saturday: (Stomach and hip dips have two days because these are the areas I wanna work on the most) :30 plank bicycle crunches x30 crunches x30 penguins x30 russian twists x30 :45 shoulder taps leg raises x15 :20 wall sit leg raises x20 crunches x30 side crunches x30

Arms, Friday: tricep dips x20 bicep curls x15 :60 plank pushups 10x2 (2 sets of 10 pushups) wall pushups x30 :60 arm circles mountain climbers x15 (build up when you start getting used to it)

Hips dips, Wednesday + Sunday: side leg raises x20 side-to-side lunges x20 (I’m chronically ill so normal lunges are too much for my legs and body atm) fire hydrants x20 clamshells x20 V-extensions x20 half wipers x20 fire hydrants x30 laying lateral pulse x20 (only do if you have an exercising band to wrap around your legs) plie squats x20

Waist, Thursday:  :60 plank side crunches x20 plank dips x10 (per side) (build up as they get easier to do) :30 vacuums x2 (vacuums are when you suck in your stomach for those that aren’t aware. Doing these every day actually help thin your stomach out) bicycle crunches x30 penguins x30 :30 russian twists :30 penguins :30 bicycle crunches plank twists x30

With may coming to an end in a few short days, and june right around the corner, i must ask my Jsab followers an important question.

Last year I hosted just shapes and gays, a pride month themed drawing challenge. And while a blast, and very sucessful, it caused me major burnout due to me also participating in the annual july artfight, which would mark 3 months straight of drawing challenges.

I still have the original list of prompts + could switch it up to add more identities or couples. The question i guess is, does anyone want me to host it again this year? I can upload the list again (either same or with some changes) but likely wont participate myself due to needing to save up my drawing spoons for airfight. Let me know if ya'll want to do just shapes and gays again or not (and if not valid! I know another user does a july drawing challenege for the levels and with artfight being such a huge deal I understand wanting to skip a month to recharge for the july season)
