don’t try to start an argument with a virgo mars!!!! these individuals never really care enough to argue UNLESS you’re saying something that they know it’s wrong. they won’t let you get away with it. they will explain you in detail why you’re wrong in a passive aggressive way. making you feel really dumb lol they love being right

mercury in pisces. most find it hard to express through words to say exactly how they feel so instead they do it through music, songs,, art, sketches, some hand-made gifts. any kind of act of love. and they love those kind of things too. they find it more meaningful.

leo risings usually have a good sense of style. they want to look nice, wear nice clothes, nice jewelry. they tend to be super shy and quiet too, they have a hard time opening up to people. which is weird bc they have alot of charisma and people usually gravitate towards them, mostly because they’re fun to be around. but sometimes they care too much about what people think of them and that can stop them from being themselves.

moon in capricorn are so hard on themselves. whenever I think of this placement, it reminds me of that knot on your throat when you’re trying so hard not to cry. just holding back the tears. that’s them. all the time. and it’s not just tears they’re holding back, it’s also the words they never say when they’re really upset, completely avoiding any kind of interaction. or the good news they don’t ever share because they’re too afraid it’ll go away. or just anything that they keep to themselves bc they don’t want to bother anyone else. venus in aquarius is an interesting placement. it reminds me a lot of venus in virgo and I do think they have a lot of things in common but I still think venus in aquarius is more complex than that. They need reassurance in any way possible because it makes them feel safe but they are too afraid to committing to someone and having to emotionally depend on someone. ok yes I read the mha manga and I had to stop a fuck ton of times to screech about the sexualization of teenagers, and the costumes in general aren’t practical or protective, so I, like many others, decided to redesign the costumes(and the characters, but mainly the costumes), starting with Yaoyorozu Momo.

I’m working on anatomy, and this has helped, but im still not the best, so if the proportions aren’t super accurate, please give me any tips you have to make them more so! so, here’s my hero costume design for Everything Hero: Creati

MAIN COSTUME:

hair pulled into a bun

high impact sports bra

unzips in the front and back

low rise athletic shorts

her og costume is already wayyy different from her normal style, she really only cares about practicality, so I didn’t take her style into account, otherwise it would look fairly different

sinchable cover up

it’s worn as a skirt kinda thing when not being used for modesty, like in the picture

everything has zippers on it

the zippers are high tech and magnetic for easy skin exposure, can also be remotely controlled by her smart watch

they have shit that can make dna super suits, technology implanted in zippers isn’t that much of a stretch

holographic technology

same thing with the visor, she can see approximately how much usable fat she has, pull up online data catalogs for certain items, etc

replaces the clunky ass books

utility belt that I can’t draw very well

contains snacks for her quirk as well as basic first aid and the like

a bit tall but they also zip up in the back

less skinny(she would maybe be skinny after excessive quirk use but not before) and I’ve given her more defined muscle

you can see just how low rise the shorts are

yes the bra underneath would realistically still be there but just unzipped but whatever

she canonically doesn’t care much about modesty but there are public decency laws and creepers so she gets a fucking cover up

COLD WEATHER VERSION:

thicker material

all of the black parts are unzippable

mainly there for warmth when she’s not engaging in active combat

I left the belt out but it’s still there

lined boots(not visible but I’d like to think so)

I made a mistake and accidentally had the shorts end where the cover up ends so they’re a little uneven

COLD WEATHER(WITH CLOAK)

cloak is there for warmth and occasionally stealth

yes the canon red one is more elegant but black absorbs more warmth and probably works better for stealth when she’s trying to pull off shit like the whole ‘operation sneak Bakugou out from under the nose of Japan’s most dangerous villain’ thing

HOT WEATHER VERSION:

I always thought it was dumb they only have a regular and cold weather version so I added one for hot weather

also sometimes worn for her regular costume

the high collar one is only because it has more coverage and is similar to her prototype costume

which by the way, her prototype costume is way better than the canon one

anyway, contrary to popular belief, Antonio is actually my favorite RP character. just in general. and i've never actually seen him live until the other day. unbeknownst to me, i was waiting for a whole year to be able to actually see him live, i think i was more excited about it than cc!anthony was 💀

which might contribute to my love for him bc i had to piece him together like a puzzle from everyone else's POVs and clips n stuff. so at first i didn't want him to come back bc i was afraid he'd be different from the Antonio i made up in my head... but then. i haven't sat n watched, at mostly full attention, a whole stream for 7 hours in a while LOL

when i watched cc!buddha's rdrp vods a year ago n saw Antonio, i thought to myself "oh no... Tony isn't actually my new muse is he...?". and for a while i didn't draw him bc i didn't have any ideas + i didn't really know how to draw him. but i did know that when i did learn how to draw him, it'd be over for me (i wouldn't want to draw anyone else, and i was right oops 😭)

my idea of Antonio is he's just a dumb, impulsive, silly little theatre kid that got wrapped up in being an outlaw bc of Wu n Dot after his house burned down. they woulda been moving around in old box cars wherever the trains took them. Dot dies before the events of WildRP(headcanon), and Wu to me, is the autistic kid that follows Antonio around bc he talks a lot n has charisma lolol. also, to me, Wu is not as evil as he was intended to be, he just follows in Sonny's footsteps who's calculated n violent. While Antonio chooses Cesare's path to be more diplomatic and focuses more on his reputation. Antonio can't win a fight to save his life, and i love him for it. he thinks he's scary n dangerous, but to me, he couldn't hurt a fly hehe. i mean, one of the first things he did in the crossing was host a talent show at the local theatre. i'm a big fan of pathetic men, what can i say.

speaking of, i love how pathetically in love he is with Renni. and i love how, despite how much they like each other, they never actually get together n still respect each other as friends. they are the embodiment of the saying "if you love something let it go, if it comes back its yours" but without the last part.. they are so tragic to me.

in the last 3.5 years of watching rp, i've never had any character or character dynamic make me cry. like, as much as i love how doomed n toxic Donnie/Lang is, i've teared up a bit, but they've never made me cry just thinking about them. but Antonio, n by extension, his relationship with Renni, has made me cry multiple times just thinking about them 😭 and yeah, i cried the other day when Antonio was thinking about Renni LOL

idk why he's the character that changes my brain chemistry, but uh. he is. i've literally never rambled about a character so much online, sorry for the great wall of text bc of it.. i'm usually masking so hard a lot of the time, but i've been wanting to talk about Antonio for so long with no one to yap to so, yknow.. he gets me to unmask and i also love him for that :']

Imagine that, since sibling rivalry (Azul's included because I also headcanon that they are acting like overdramatic siblings) Floyd cooks food for Riddle by himself as the one thing the other 2 can't one-up him at. He even tries to invent dishes that would suit Riddle's taste. He doesn't bother to name them, so he leaves Riddle to name them instead.

Post his overblot, I think Riddle would put an effort in maintaining friendships and heck, even making friends. He thinks he could befriend Floyd easy, since he was already prone to tease him, but later ends up waking in the middle of the night and going to Trey like:

Riddle: Trey, I like long fish.

Trey, half asleep at 2 am: ????

I headcanon Azul as a love enthusiast (bcs his birthday is on dragobete, basically a Romanian valentine's day) so he would absolutely wingman Jade and Floyd until their weddings. For Floyd it comes first as no surprise that he likes Riddle. Azul already had date plans for the next 3 years, boi. Sit down and pick U-U9

Contrary to popular belief, I headcanon that Riddle figured out first his feelings, by talking out to Trey like a vent session. He tries to deny those more out of fear of rejection than anything.

Their dates range from quiet time cuddled with a floofy blanket and a movie to enjoy to blowing up something. :'3

I headcanon that if Riddle would pick a hobby, he would pick drawing, so sometimes he would try and sketch Floyd while he's afar and doing his usual Floyd things. He catches up on the jig later and so Floyd would sit still and calm for a while when he notices Riddle drawing(at first he thought the redhead was taking notes on smth)

As for parents meeting, the Leech parents seem cold at first, but the second Riddle gets that approval™ it's a complete 180 to bubbly and excited parents. For Mrs Rosehearts, surprisingly Floyd survives 10-15 mins before his manners slip up. Riddle sees that salad as a very interesting thing now. :'3

They aren't very hush-hush about their relationship once they do get together. Everyone was just used to their initial bartender that they didn't realise these 2 actually ended up together. Adeuce had the biggest shock in the world. :'3

Floyd also loves cuddles since he's used to be a cold-blooded being(I think, me not gut at biology :'3), so Riddle being a human makes him a nice and warm pillow. Especially when he gets all red. :'3

As a non-lip kisses, Floyd likes to kiss the back of Riddle's hand, while the latter gives Floyd forehead or cheek kisses (if only he could reach that high easy :'3)

Because of their height difference, when they actually argue, Riddle has an 'arguing' box that he gets on so they would be on the same level. If it's not in the reach, he will climb ANYTHING out of pettiness and Floyd will wait until he gets up on something to continue. :'D

Their arguments are usually very dumb, so it doesn't take much until one or both come forth with an apology and an 'I'm sorry' hug.

Floyd got a hold of Riddle's phone once only to put an eel emoji next to his contact name. Riddle later changed it into a lil heart (this one: <3) :3

@lovebugs-and-snakecharmers is doing a Lukanette Month for September 2024, and we all just kinda tossed some prompts in the disco to compile a list?  We ended up with 71 prompts, so I decided I’d roll some dice to pick a prompt, do a twenty minute (ish, bc we all know sometimes they run away from me) sprint, and try to get some short fics out this month?

Friday nights on the Liberty were becoming something of a habit for Marinette.  It was too easy to follow Juleka, Rose, and Luka home from school for band practice.  Even if there was still some time before Ivan was expected to be there, Marinette didn’t mind.  They usually spent the time either above or below deck, depending on the weather, working on homework or hanging out.  She’d lost count of the afternoons she’d spent on a crate beside Luka, sketching her latest creation as he noodled on his guitar.

It wasn’t uncommon that she lingered after practice anymore, either.  Sometimes Luka would have to work, but she was still welcome – she was always welcome, he loved to remind her – and the creative space there was just…freeing.  Usually Juleka and Rose were still there to keep her company, but sometimes they would wander off on a date.  Usually they were all left hanging around, and those usually led to movie or game nights.

Marinette loved it.

The Liberty was, more than ever, starting to feel like a second home.

So there was nothing really unusual about that particular night, with all four of them sprawled out on the couches below deck watching some movie or documentary on…something.  Marinette wasn’t quite sure, honestly.  She was curled up against Luka’s side, her head on his shoulder and a blanket stretched over them.  She had been sketching, when the movie – the first movie? – had started, but Luka had taken her book from her when she’d first started nodding off before it could hit the floor.  Now she was…floating.  Drifting in and out of consciousness, half awake and barely aware of anything beyond the warm arm holding her against an even warmer chest.

…it felt like what all those failed dates should have felt like.  Back when.

She was dimly aware of quiet chatter on the other end of the couch.  She wasn’t at all aware of the knowing smirks and giggles Rose and Juleka kept shooting their way.  She was kind of aware of the documentary, where some comment had caused Luka to snort, the sound startling her just enough to become aware of the derisive chuckle that followed.  She shifted slightly, and his arm tightened around her.

The chuckle was a warm rumble beneath her ear, and she found herself sighing as she sank into it.  Into him.

“Because that’s what everyone wants,” he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm and making her brow furrow in confusion.  “Xavier-Yves Roth for Mayor – Paris is doomed.”

She snorted, choking a little on a laugh.  She turned her head into his chest, smiling.

“Shut up,” she mumbled, still laughing.  He was so dumb.  “I love you.”

Now, Marinette was…not all there.  Half asleep at best.  More than half asleep, really.  Which is probably why she didn’t notice the way Luka just…froze beneath her.  And she probably wouldn’t have noticed it, if Rose hadn’t let out an ear-piercing squeal that could rival a tea kettle the next moment.  She jerked away from Luka, flailing and sending their blanket to the floor (and probably smacking him in the face – oops) – and then sending herself to the floor as she slid off the couch in the commotion.  She smacked her knees into the edge of the crate they used as a coffee table, and then Juleka was sliding off the couch as she laughed and laughed and laughed, clutching her stomach.  Marinette looked up, blinking wide, confused eyes at Luka, but Luka was…just sitting there.

Staring at her.

“What…what?” she asked, blinking owlishly at him.  But then he shook his head, and he was smiling, and oh that was…that was an awesome smile…

“Are you ok?” he asked, reaching out to help her up.  She nodded mutely, and she bent to retrieve their blanket before returning to her place against him.  “You sure?”

“I think I dozed off,” she said, rubbing at her eyes.  She smiled sheepishly at him.  “Sorry.  I didn’t mean…did I miss anything good?”

“Oh, nothing too important,” Juleka cackled, and for the strangest reason the look she was giving Marinette made heat crawl up her neck.  Luka shot her a look, but then his arms were wrapping around Marinette again and tugging her back against him.  He tucked his face against the crook of her neck, and she sucked in a breath when he pressed a little kiss there.

“Ignore her.  She’s a monster,” he said.  His breath was burning against her skin, but not as much as his lips when he kissed her again.  “I love you, too.”

you getting push back on that post is crazy to me isn't it enough to watch and get invested in something for what it is currently rather than what it will be? I have so many unfinished projects in my own life it'd be crazy to demand polished completion from everything I watch/read. my unfinished sketches and embroidery and abandoned dnd campaigns still brought joy and growth without having a polished thing to present at the end

So what's funny to me is like. I have referenced this before here and elsewhere but like, as a child, I was SO bad at ambiguous and sad endings and my mother was like, not unkind about this, but neither did she coddle it, and I think that laid a groundwork that was really necessary.

My tags, which got lost bc I did NOT expect that post to break containment, do actually touch on how Netflix and other streaming services canceling things to avoid paying people a fair wage fucking suck but yeah here's a list of creative endeavors I participated in or watched/listened to/read that do not as of this posting have endings and I still liked, and many of them aren't even directly attributable to capitalism because this is just a fact of life and art.

As mentioned, both A Song of Ice and Fire and the Kingkiller Chronicles.

Multiple D&D campaigns for sure (I actually don't make D&D characters without a game in mind and find it weird that people do and so I'm like why am I the one arguing for the beauty of the incomplete).

Multiple fics, both mine and others.

King Falls AM, a podcast I binged in like 2018-2019 and despite being a mystery never actually completed bc the creators couldn't agree.

I think Battlestar Galactica 2003 is one of the most brilliant shows of its era and also the finale, which happened when the creators intended it to, is really dumb, and that doesn't undo the fact that I loved everything else.

How I Met Your Mother ends really poorly in a way that arguably undercuts the whole series, but like, I still liked that too.

Ditto for Chuck, which also struggles in that it was on the chopping block most seasons so they kept ending in ways that probably weren't true to whatever the original vision may have been.

I saw Firefly on DVD after it had already been canceled, I think Serenity is good but I don't love all the choices, and Joss Whedon has since been revealed to be a dick but like, I enjoyed myself greatly while watching it.

As mentioned, Heroes. I didn't watch much TV until my teens anyway because we didn't have cable and our reception sucked and we were very much a book household, and this was one of the first series I recall watching from season 1 and it's also the first TV series where I was like yeah I don't care anymore, and it went on for 4 seasons and I think I gave up either late S2 or early S3.

I didn't watch Supernatural, Game of Thrones, nor Grey's Anatomy but all of those are famous for outstaying their welcome, sometimes it's better to burn out than fade away, etc.

I had already long outgrown Harry Potter and started to see its limitations by the time Rowling's transphobia became public but like, now it's not something I would ever recommend to my friends' kids or anything, and that doesn't undo the fact that I did greatly enjoy it as a child and teenager; it was indirectly the reason why I was introduced to the superior fantasy of Diana Wynne Jones, which I do still reread from time to time. (I think the "well I never liked it" mentality about works from artists who end up being terrible people is tied into the "I can't get invested in anything that might end in an unsatisfying manner." Tumblr University's media studies grads are not the brightest stars in the firmament, that's for sure.)

Like, cancellation (let alone cancellation specifically because of the unique shittiness of streaming services) is just one of the many reason things might end in a way you dislike or become difficult for you to enjoy at a later date, and that's just talking about television. Are you really going to deny yourself the joy of anticipation and watching a story unfold in real-time because the thought of something not satisfying you at every single turn is so unfathomable?

(oh, and because this is, as we know, a CR blog much of the time, I should add that this mentality is really pervasive which is wild because your average 3-season canceled Netflix show is probably the equivalent of maybe 9-10 CR episodes; thinking about how many people who now claim C2 is terrible watched 141 episodes and also the person who is iconic to me who unironically asked me what the point was in getting invested in characters who will die re: Chetney)

Zeetha and Gilgamesh : OK so I do need to clarify because this is technically not confirmed canon yet.

Gil is the son of Baron Klaus Wulfenbach, the guy who whipped all of Europe into shape through some tyrannical de sporty after returning form a years long sojourn through a portal yo find everything gone to shit. He brought with in his stolen/rescued baby kid, who he then proceeded to not tell anyone was his kid, because Klaus is winning every father of the year award (sarcasm). Gil is the first/main love interest, and is an idiot (affectionate)

Zeetha, Daughter of Chump, is a warrior Princess of Skifander, a lost kingdom that may or may not be on Mars, who came with an expedition to visit Europe only for everyone to die and her to end up in a traveling circus - Agatha, the protagonist, is the first one to recognize Skifander, and the two become best friends.

Zeetha knows her father is a warrior from Europe, who disappeared when she was young; Gil has been told by his father that Skifander might be sending assassins to kill him, that Klaus had a complicated relationship with the Queen, and that he is through some path technically royalty. Zeetha and Gil are the same age. A requested sketch of Chump looks identical to a (younger) Klaus. And when asked for fun facts about Skifander in an AMA, quote “they don’t like twins.”

So, you know, not technically confirmed, but 100% Klaus kidnapped his own son under the impression that he was going to be ritually murdered for twin-superstition reasons (and son specifically bc Skifander was a matriarchy), leaving them to be raised separately and unaware the other exists. Although Zeetha is definitely putting the pieces together.

⬜-Favorite part about drawing (and least favorite)? I actually really enjoy inking! I know a lot of people hate it, but for me it’s like… the place where my messy, incoherent sketches turn into a picture. I hate trying to make vehicles and buildings make sense, though; there’s a couple of those coming up in the next few pages of my comic and good lord. Augh. Guh.

🟦-OCs? (Show if you want)? So the weird thing is that I have a lot of OCs, but almost never post them? Part of it is that I’m also a writer, and many of my characters are from things that hopefully I’ll be able to publish someday under my IRL name, which is an entirely separate sphere from my online life. For warning, this was something quick I made on my phone so probably ain’t great. But enjoy 💚

We’ve agreed that the Targaryens are rich as fuck, i think it’s old money like the Kennedy’s. Visryes is a huge lawyer and Daemon gives me Wall Street investors or CEO vibes. And Alicent is stay at home mommy that loves her kids. Nrya is Sahm as well but she modeled some I think, not runway model thou.

Aegon is a pothead/frat boy obviously, he only parties at college. Not caring if he graduates or not, Vis probably pays the uni a shit ton of money. Every once in awhile he puts an effort for classes :) He dresses like a frat boy and a stoner had a baby. Slides 99.8% of the time, hoodies that have his frat house name Or university name on it. He owns one part of jeans and slacks(they stay at home 99%). Smells like cigarette smoke, small vanilla notes and whiskey. Knows he can get away with failing school, getting pulled over, screwing girls. He knows Alicent loves him bc he’s her first baby. He’s not dumb as people think he is. He loves his mama too but kinda takes advantage of it.

Aemond is a Harvard baby through and through! Most likely an English major, but he also gives me medical school vibes(personally for me). He puts school first, he knows not everyone can get into Harvard so he appreciates that he did. Ameond is the campus mysterious heartthrob. Girls and gays love him! He’s 6’5, blonde with shoulder length hair, wears leather and black clothing w/sliver rings. Little whore! Also he has his scar on his eye. Obviously dragons aren’t real for us. So Aemond and Luke didn’t fight each other over Vhgar. I’m thinking he lost it on accident, maybe Vis took him and Aegon knife throwing or one of the neighbors kids and him were playing with sticks or something. Personally the scar is what made fall in love with him. It’s him no matter what au it is. It shaped him to who he is as a person. He’s a huge mama’s boy! He don’t hide it either, he loves Alicent.

When he comes home from school for the summer and Christmas, he brings gifts for her and Heleana. Stuff he saw while he was out one Saturday, little trinkets, shoes, books. Anything that reminded him of his mom and sister. Also does this for his S/O, he’s just a sweet emo boy!

Heleana still loves her bugs and other creepy crawlers! We stan Helena the bug queen in this house 💚 she’s the quiet girl that is always reading a book, drawing in her sketch pad. Has earbuds in, but will take them out if anyone talks to her. Loves old English literature and plays. She loves NYC and broadway, she gives me NYU vibes. Definitely lives in NYC but goes upstate a lot bc of nature. Also I think she would be a witch or at least into paganism. Aemond is close to Salem, MA so he goes and gets her stuff from the shops. He has 6 tarot decks that he plans on taking home along with crystals and books he got for her. TSA workers hate Aemond bc he goes over the weight limit with his suitcases.

Alicent, my favorite mom! Okay so, Alicent was Vis’ sugar baby when she was 20ish. Went to school with Nrya and ended marrying her dad. But I don’t think they hate each other in this AU, probably not each other’s fans. I think Nrya and Harwin are together, probably met on a photo shoot set. Harwin was definitely a model or an actor in his day. Anyways! Alicent got pregnant with Aegon before the wedding, you could see her bump in her dress. Vis works 24:7 so Alicent got very close with Aegon as a baby. Aegon looks after her always has! She was very involved with school when the kids were little. PTA mom, sports mom, art/theater mom, she always supports her kids and their activities. Calls them each everyday to see what’s new, are you sick?, how’s the money looking? She used to feel insecure about being a young mom, but now she’s 43 and her kids are in college. She has so much free time now! Definitely the hot mom, also the cool mom(mean girls hey!). Alicent was meant to be a mother, she truly loves her kids and wants the best for them. She don’t give me toxic mother in law vibes

Nrya is the first child of Vis, so he is crazy over her. He’s still in Nrya’s lane, but he talks to the other kids moreish. Nrya became a model her junior year of college. Has been covers of vogue, vanity fair, a bunch of wedding mags. It’s how she met her husband, Harwin. They fell in love and had Jace, Luke, Joff, the twins. Definitely a boy mom but she loves being a mom.

But yeah as for theories, they'll be under the cut Big shout out to my friend CL for helping me like, break the show down and get ideas going and thinking of a few of these first

(Also heads up, I just finished typing out Shrike's theories and it's long as hell so big read ahead)

Okay so some Shrike thoughts

He's canonically the last of his species, but he doesn't seem too torn up about it like Beebs seems to be about his own past, so is he just really good at hiding that pain or does he genuinely have no regrets?

If he is hiding his pain, the Terran obsession could be his coping mechanism, he hides in El Bandito cartoons so he doesn't have to face the truth that once he's gone, his whole species is

On the flipside, in the show, he seems to sleep just fine, dreams about normal things, never seems to have anything bothering him consciously or subconsciously, so I actually think he's genuinely fine over being the last of his species

I'll get back to that in a minute though, for now I'd like to look at his style: we know he wears a suit he got from being a member of LAW, and his guns match his suit/shoes, so I imagine he got the guns with the suit and was trained by LAW how to use them

He also claims "this is all I know!" when Beebs tells him to stop shooting in ep 3 so it's not hard to imagine he went straight from knowing little about fighting into LAW (unlike Beebs, who I'll get to)

With his LAW history in mind and seeming lack of care about the eradication of his species, it makes me wonder if the two could be connected

There's the Hunted theory, the Superman theory, and the Bad Alien theory, two of which involve the storage crystal in the back of his head

Said crystal appears to be very important; it's limited, but it is hammer space, it could have a ton of practical uses, and would likely be something that bad people wanna get ahold of, plus in ep 2 (which is HEAVY with foreshadowing, even with stuff that happens in the episode itself) they point out Shrike's crystal several times, calling him the Mother Crystal, showing Beebs looking between Punti's crystal and Shrike's, even Dr. Agnes tried to pull it out of his head at one point, so I'm thinking someone's gonna want it

In comes the Hunted theory: Shrike's species is born with these crystals, or they're at least given at birth/a young age (with Shrike saying he's had his since forever in ep 2), but since they're so useful, other aliens started hunting his species down to kill them and take the crystals. Shrike was taken on to LAW bc he was one of the last few of his kind n they wanna keep an eye on them

Literally as I was typing I thought of another theory, the Foreshadowing theory: The way Shrike talks about what happened to him (LAW setting him up with a dumb job after) makes me think it was actually more like a mass extinction, much like how Punti is the last of his kind after a mass extinction, one that LAW showed up afterwards to find and take the last one into custody, though in this theory, I think Shrike's crystal and the multiple comparisons between Shrike and Punti may point to Shrike being the only one of his kind with that crystal in his head

Which is also the case in the Superman Theory, where his family knew they were all gonna die, so they put Shrike in a pod (either being born with or given the crystal) and sent him off to protect him as they all die (which yeah isn't original but come on, baby Shrike)

Finally there's my favorite theory (NOT the one I believe in the most, just the one I think is the most fun to write for), the Bad Alien theory: why would Shrike be so carefree about his whole species being dead? Well what if they were actually a horrible species, like the Krill in Orville? They're blood-thirsty conquerors responsible for wiping out plenty of other species, and something about Shrike (maybe the crystal?) made him different and decide this wasn't okay, so he finds a way to work for LAW and be their spy on the inside, helping his species get captured and killed as punishment for all the pain and destruction they've caused while Shrike gets a job for helping them out so he can stay on his feet

Also not a theory or anything, I just love the detail that Shrike's chair in the Bucket has a spot on the headrest that's been scratched out by Shrike's gem, idk how they thought of that but that's so smart

Anyway that's enough about Shrike, let's get on to Beebs

Beebs oh man, sweetie, my baby boy, he has got to have a sad fuckin backstory. He's missing 3 of his 4 limbs, he implies he's lost at least one loved one, he's just so iudhfishuis I love him

Anyway, in episode 3 when he's talking to Us, he mentions he's been through losing someone "once or twice", which to me points to the possibility that he lost his partner or his family, but tbh I think he lost his wife (or whatever gender partner you prefer to think of him with) and child

He's very fatherly, taking the lead and being gentle and patient and understanding, plus in ep 2 when the Lythop that went in Shrike's head was crying, Beebs was already bent on a knee and ready to hold the lil guy like a dad comforting his crying kid, and in ep 3 he sits in with Shrike and lets him talk about El Bandito like a kid showing off their favorite cartoon to their dad (plus it makes him a dilf)

There's also another character we've seen in promo art, Champion Ajax, who looks like a Walrinian like Beebs is, and his name being Champion Ajax (among other things I'll get to) gives me the impression that maybe this species is battle-heavy and loves to throw down

They're physically imposing and tall, plus Beebs is shown to be a skilled fighter with both his close range hammer and long range grenades; I wouldn't be surprised if he could use every weapon in his light stick thing tbh

With champions and a proficiency in mixed weapons, what if Beebs' species takes part in gladiator type sports? Fighting each other for the fun and glory with the biggest and strongest of them all being the champion

If this is the case, I do think Beebs might've been a champ at one point, but he finally lost or quit

I don't have fancy names for these theories, n they're more like thoughts anyway but like

It's possible he lost his limbs during his run as Champion and that led him to quit (he didn't seem interested in getting any more parts of him made mechanical, as evidenced by his response to Shrike telling him to get an internal translator)

But the way sadder option is that whatever took his limbs is also what took his family, like some kind of explosion or something, or even worse, something that he did caused it

If you'll notice, sometimes when he opens his mouth wide, you can see two weird, round "teeth" in the corners of his mouth, which come to find out are actually where his tusks should be (side note: BLESS the artist who drew him with his tusks that one time, I love it)

So why doesn't he have his tusks? Were they cut off because he quit being Champion? Maybe he was blamed for the death of his family n cutting off tusks is a sign of shame/exile

Him being exiled may count for why he's in Monkey Wrench right now, like in ep 3 he clearly wasn't sure he was cut out for merc work so I highly doubt this was his idea, he likely needed a job to keep himself afloat, and here came Shrike

On that note, I wonder about Shrike and Beebs' relationship, cause when talking to Us, Beebs said that Shrike is his friend "or something"; have they just not known each other long enough to really call each other friends, or does Shrike just annoy him n that was a joke? How long have they known each other? Maybe they met through LAW at some point?

As for the question, I think I should point some of the things out:

- First of all, the Frostpegg duo has incredible chemistry both on and off set and every scene including both of them just. looks GOOD bc they work together so well and their interactions are something else;

- Secondly, Hot Fuzz is a gay gay romcom. And it works! It's not annoying enough for me to hate the ship, which, to be honest, is rare;

- I am DOWN BAD for the "ah he's so tough and serious but he has a soft spot for the only special person in he life/ ah he's so dumb such a small little scrunkly but so cheerful and so cute" trope *coughs intensely, sliding my sketches under the bed simultaneously*

- simon pegg is a slut and there is no choice for me but to reach out to him with my filthy slutty hands and ship him with the lads;

So,

HF is a comedy, aimed, in general, to make fun of things, but Angelbutter stands out. I suppose Simon&co just went like "what if nick wins a stuffed toy for danny at the fare? oh yeah, let's make them watch movies and fall asleep together! etc etc" - purely random clichés just for fun, but they, in fact, worked! Worked because they fit the story and the characters - Nick doesn't get along with Danny just because they are in a romcom, but because he is naive, easygoing - an unexpected characteristics for Angel as he's used to boring, serious big city policemen(police officers, har har har), because he shows Nick that his job doesn't have to be his whole life, because Danny stands up for him, after all. Relationship is all about sharing the experience and the knowledge.

Someone has pointed out the parallels between Nick's relationship with his actual ex and his relationship with Danny - how different they are, and how much better does Angelbutter work because of how different Danny is.

I think what also works in Angelbutters favor is that they aren't actually canon, so their love line isn't stretched and doesn't look far-fetched or unrealistic - it's extremely lighthearted, as it should be, and it makes me believe in it, because they act like actual people would.

All in all- I love Angelbutter!! They are extremely sweet and boyfriends material, totally on my priority list X3

P.S. i don't draw them mostly bc danny's face is complicated, but these things take time and i'll figure it out >:)

Ayato

Ayato is really big on chains in his clothing but it comes at the expense of them always jingling whenever he walks. He'll be out doing his usual tough guy walk but will sound like one of Santa's elves. just as tall as them too

He used to have quite the problem of always having saggy trousers and it became a joke that you could just about see his underwear. He was so adamant it wasn't true and just thought everyone was ficking with him until Hina kindly pointed it out to him.

Ayato is ABSOLUTELY that annoying sibling that'll walk into your room, fuck with your stuff, leave, and leave the damn door open.

Tomoe and Touka are very familiar with this bullshit

He often tries to tell people he can skateboard and he can.... to some extent. He knows about 3 tricks and can stay on the board fine but no one believes him when he says this.

Tomoe

Tomoe quite enjoys games like animal crossing, stardew valley, and the sims. She prefers the older versions of animal crodsing as the newer villagers have much less interesting dialogue options.

She always has some sort of craft going on. Her room may mainly be neat but she always has a small slightly less tidy corner of her room dedicated to whatever project she has going on at the moment. She likes being able to let her mind go quiet as she sketches or crafts. It gives her something to look forward to at the end of the day.

She's very well versed in floriography, and will not hesitate to point out when someone's flowers don't have the meaning they're trying to convey. Ayato is constantly asking her about flowers for Hinami, even before the two started dating. She was very excited when the two started dating and the bouquet ideas she had thought of finally had a use.

She's quite handy when it comes to things like repairs around the house bc the Bin brothers were pretty much experts in that area. After their deaths, Tomoe has filled their shoes as The One Everyone Calls When Something Goes Wrong.

I feel like I could've come up with more but I quite like what I've got here! Might've been quite cruel to Ayato though (once again, I did say these would be dumb hcs) Please feel free to send me more. I love doing these :3
