I've found the excess hate around the women Elvis dated to be so extremely odd. Each and every woman who was deeply engaged in a relationship with him felt deeply for him and cared for him most of all and I just think it's so strange when I see people discuss the lives of his past lovers in full detail and pinpoint things they've said as excuses to continue to harp on them. Priscilla is a victim of this most of all. The comments that regard her as a horrible mother for her "failed" relationship with her daughter are so unexplainably void of respect and conscious being. Linda is constantly ridiculed as a narrassist, as is Priscilla, and compared to Priscilla in good ways and bad, Ginger is labeled a liar and a gold digger. The list goes on. Pitting these women against one another serves nothing and is extremely foul. What I've noticed most of all throughout this theme of rampant misogyny is that these people who ridicule the women who loved and were loved by Elvis, allow Elvis to be the one thing they never consider these women to be. Individual people.

elden ring is a really good game but ds1-3 are so much better and its 90% down to having less bosses. like theres so many bosses in ER and it expects you to memorize the movesets for all of them (fair) but it repeats so many of these bosses hundreds of times that it does not feel nearly as worth it. basically if you want a good time go play ds1 & ds3 and you can see the gameplay being way better

You know one of the little things I like about "His dark materials" adaptation is that both Lord Asriel and Marissa Coulter

a) look old enough to have a daughter in her early teens

b) look like they are in the same age bracket

severance theory. lumon is trying to create new sentient life forms. to clone organic beings, synthetically grow ones, and/or in effect create "new people" via the severance procedure. what do all these life forms do? they serve lumon, they serve kier. at its core, lumon is simply a cult. kier is their god, and with advanced technology, they're carrying out god-like actions in his name.

they're not only trying to create beings, but create- and perfect- consciousness. kier's philosophy was tempering the mind by refining the 4 qualities inherent in every person. they want to refine as much of humanity as possible. this might be achieved by "creating" unsullied people via severance, as well as killing off people for some reason/who are perhaps deemed as beyond saving.

lastly, they likely want to resurrect kier eagan. at least his consciousness- maybe implanted into a new body. maybe they're trying to figure out how to prolong life, either by retaining one's consciousness or increasing the lifespan of their body.

Chip who feels he is not good enough. Gillion who tells him he's good enough being himself. (Gillion who has spent his entire life thinking he's a failure, conceding that he is a failure during his trial.)

Gillion who told everything he needed to of his time in the pearl. Willingly. But cannot give Chip and Jay the context need to truly understand. They believe Gillion's skewed perception of this trial, because Gillion recounted his skewed perception of the trial. The way their eyes must have widened when Gillion admitted he'd killed hundreds of human in simulations, telling them it was his fault, his sin, framing it like he had been a bad person who needed to be put on trial. On trial for his "sins".

Charlie saying that Gillion would have willingly trained himself to point of exhaustion if required. Gillion working so hard he physically collapsed before he could get to bed. The fact that he might have been able to fight back against getting stabbed if he had just given himself room to breathe, if he hadn't felt like he failed Chip and Jay and pushed himself to the absolute edge.

Him and Kanye seem to be intentionally surrounding themselves with white supremacists. I can't tell if they truly think that ingratiating themselves with them is going to save their black asses or what.

Louis Malle directed a film named 'Lacombe, Lucien.' It's about a boy who after getting turned down by the French Resistance because of his age, begins to feed the Nazis the information he learned from the Resistance. As the film goes on he becomes more and more emboldened by the power the Nazis offer him. The Jewish girl he likes refuses to date him, until he threatens to deliver her family to the Nazis. I keep thinking about that film when their names are brought up.

Anyone remember last year when Chappelle threatened to pull funding out of his neighborhood because they were going to build a homeless shelter? He got his wish. Someone in the comments said that once you start getting money like that, in order to maintain making that money you have to make decisions like that. A homeless shelter in the neighborhood has the ability to drive property value down.

People against piracy fail to realize that no, I can’t just ‘buy it.’ They stopped making DVDs and Blu-Rays. They’re barely offering digital copies for download. I am not spending money I could use for food or bills to pay for a subscription service just so I can always have access to a beloved piece of media. Especially not when the service will remove media on a whim without concern for how the loss of access to that piece will make its artistic conservation nigh impossible.

For example, I recently learned that Disney+ had an original film called Crater. It’s scifi, family friendly, and seems cool - I would love to buy it as a holiday gift for my little brother! But: it’s exclusive to D+ and THEY REMOVED IT LITERALLY MONTHS AFTER ITS RELEASE.

The ONLY way I can directly access this film is through piracy. The ONLY available ‘copies’ of this film are hosted on piracy websites. Disney will NEVER release it in theaters, or as something to buy, and it may NEVER return to the streaming service. It will be LOST because we aren’t allowed to purchase it for personal viewing. If I can’t pay to own it, I won’t pay for the privilege of losing it when corporate decides to put it in a vault.

So yes, I’m going to pirate and support piracy.
