he cannot believe it at first

how could someone as kind and well-loved as you choose someone as intimidating and reserved as him? he can’t wrap his head around what you could possibly see in him

it takes a lot of words of affirmation to finally convince juza that he is so much more than he thinks

it saddens you that someone as hard-working and deeply involved in the company as juza could still doubt himself. he always says that he wished he could do more for mankai company, but to you he already does more than enough. although it took him some time to perfect his acting, his passion on stage inspires all the other actors to do their very best and mesmerises the audience

whenever he gets too stressed or pushes himself too hard, you offer him pastries and a long, soothing hug. you have him take breaks and go outside so that when he gets back, he feels a little lighter and more energized to resume his work

to thank you for your unwavering support, he invites you on surprise dates or takes you for a ride on his motorcycle. because juza isn’t the best at expressing his emotions, his love language is acts of service and he always makes sure to be available when you also need his help

when it is you who gets too anxious, he will hold you tightly and listen to you vent about the issue at hand. he will try to offer you words of comfort, but his primary course of action is to help solve the problem at the root

he gets more demonstrative over time, holding your hand in the streets or kissing you on the cheek in public. he is really proud of you and your relationship, but his fear of staining your reputation because of his scary looks holds him back from displaying affection more openly

in private, he is the sweetest. juza is self-conscious about his clumsy use of words, so he makes up for it by showing you love through physical touch and sharing his favourite snacks with you

he won’t say it out loud, but juza melts when it’s you who wraps him in your arms or hugs him from behind. being held is something new to him, and it feels so special, almost a sacred moment - before that, most of the physical contact he had with people was blocking punches or trying not to hurt anyone, so someone lovingly and willingly touching him moves him beyond reason. when you run your fingers through his hair and kiss his neck, his deep and raucous sighs speak louder than words

juza is straightforward and honest so he doesn’t shy away from telling you how grateful he is for you - especially when he is drunk. after a couple of drinks, he will look even more serious than usual, save for the tinge of redness blooming on his cheeks, and say the most heart-wrenching things about how you make him a better man and he wants to guard your happiness forever

he comes to you for help whenever he struggles with the interpretation of a line or wants to try out different acting techniques. reading lines together and acting out scenes is one of your favourite activities to do together, so you happily give him a hand with case studies or character analysis. if the scene involves yelling or violence, juza will apologise and make an effort to be extra affectionate with you when you’re done

you wave at him from the front row and offer him flowers after his plays - banri teases him about it, but juza can’t stop smiling and shrugs it off by telling banri that he’s just jealous. juza feels incredibly lucky to have you by his side

kumon adores you and plans family activities that you can join in. because they know juza so well, he and muku can notice the way his face lights up whenever you’re around

omi often asks juza and you to help him with baking because he guessed that juza has a sweet tooth and you find cooking relaxing. juza likes to taste the sugary ingredients just to make sure that they haven’t turned sour and are still good to eat, which always makes omi and you laugh because you can easily see through his excuses

although he is still a little bashful about his voice, you love to hear juza sing. knowing that you appreciate his singing is a huge motivation for juza to overcome his shyness and find the confidence to sing on stage

he is an attentive listener. it makes him happy that you trust him enough to confide in him, but he also enjoys listening to you talk about your hobbies and your current interests. he remembers many details about them and is never against watching something with you or looking up something you’ve been reading online. you do so much for him, so he wants to be equally there for you and

the two of you have a lot of fun together. although juza appears stoic and still has many insecurities to work through, having you by his side never fails to brighten up his days and fill his heart with joy. when you are hanging out, he smiles a lot more and is less apologetic about his behaviour, even cracking jokes from time to time (he feels like it’s awkward, but you find it exceptionally endearing). he hopes that you feel fulfilled, so he always offers you a shoulder to cry on when you’re feeling down or does his best to make you smile. he wants to learn all about your preferences and passions so that he can fully enter your world

most of all, he just wishes for you to be happy and safe. he has never been loved like this before and he wants to do everything in his power to reciprocate your love with as much force and sincerity

(No grim was NOT crying because he thought he'd lose you wdym????)

After visiting Mankai company and explaining your reasoning for disappearing for a year (or so depends, its up to the reader!) your friends had thought you were crazy, or at the very least believed you but needed further..er, evidence? So you decided, you'd arrange a meeting between your old friends and your new ones, to prove you werent crazy but now, that raises one question left,,,,..Who would best get along with who??

Riddle Rosehearts

Ok so for Riddle I was lowkey stumped on who to pair him with? But I think he'd best get along with Sakyo Furuichi since they both are pretty authorative and strict? I genuinely dont know who else to pair him with 😭

Sakyo Didnt seem that interested in talking with Riddle at first, commenting on how he doesnt have time to meddle with some kid from the street 💀

Riddle did not like him. Not one bit.

But after spending more time with him and the rest of Autumm trope, he starts to respect his authorative figure and how he's able to keep his trope in shape, so maybe, he isnt that bad.

Hes still salty about being called a kid tho

Ace Trappola

As for Ace, I think he'd get along best with Banri Settsu, both relatively laid back people who get into trouble on a regular basis! though Banri's definitely more on the gangster-punk-ish-intimidating side rather than Ace's chill troublemaker vibe. I can see the both of them being competitive with games (for Banri, he'd invite him to the arcade, and for Ace, I guess a game of basketball??)

Both of em would talk shit behind everyones back LMAO

Banri's just complaining about Juza and Sakyo while he'd be complaining about Riddle and Deuce

Deuce Spade

Ah, our boy Deuce! I wholeheartedly believe he'd get along with Juza Hyodo! Both used to be deliquents after all (Or at least- looked like a deliquent?? For Juzas case?), but strived to better themselves. For Juza, he wanted to better himself (and his reputation as a deliquent, much like Deuce) because of his love for theatre, and Deuce wanted to quit his ways to become an honor role student! both of them would click really well tbh, in my opinion at least.

Ace is not happy as Deuce spends more time with him, Like?? Isnt he the best friend here 🤨🤨??? /hj

(mf he was the one who refused to call Deuce his bsf and now hes complaining 🙄)

Anyways back to hcs! I think Juza would be stiff approaching him tbh, while Deuce is politely greeting him and all

Once they get to know each other more, Deuce would share his old deliquent days while Juza just listens and gives his own experiences every here and then

And now for Trey, Ok I didn't even need to think twice about this, HE'D GET ALONG WITH OMI FUSHIMI ! They both radiate vibes of being the mom friend in the group, and both can cook/bake (COUGHS AND BOTH ARE VERY MUSCULAR WOOO-) , sooo..Yeah! I think Trey and Omi would share stories and their struggles of being the mom friendᵗᵐ and would exchange various recipes with each other! overall very wholesome :D

Juza, despite what his appearance may indicate, is incredibly easily flustered so your affection is always able to make him blush at best, and internally combust at worst

Don’t get him wrong though, he absolutely adores the affection, he just never completely knows how to respond

As the relationship progresses, he starts to become more used to your affections and eventually comes to anticipate it- that doesn’t mean it still doesn’t fluster him though

If you’re very affectionate in front of the other Mankai members or in public in general, he may just figuratively die

He prefers for you to be affectionate in private, but he’s generally okay with mild PDA too (e.g. hand holding, short kisses) but prefers not to have heavy PDA (e.g. making out)

Juza isn’t necessarily not energetic (like Hisoka) but he’s not the most energetic (like Misumi or Kumon) either. He doesn’t necessarily struggle to keep up with you, but if you’re a person who’s incredibly hyper he may lag behind a bit

Passing by a few members who were either doing something else or watched you and your brother with an amused smile or a deadpan face. You were looking for your boyfriend, your savior when your brother is busy bullying you. Banri followed in suit, laughing at you, “Just for today, can you please shut up.” You pleaded, tired of his antics for the day. “Hey, you did this to yourself.” He teased, reaching your brother and boyfriend’s shared dorm. “Uhh—Yes?” Juza awkwardly asked as you wrap your arms around him and buried your face at his back. “Jerk brother. Punch him.” Your muffled voice said. He looked at you and towards Banri’s direction, “wth happened?” was written all over his face as he looked at the both of you, back and forth. “You know, I was minding my own business when that stupid guy over there started bullying me.” You pouted as you pointed at your brother. Your boyfriend on the other hand was really confused as he patted your head, and the other hand wrapped around your waist. He was actually hesitant to punch your brother, he was very clueless if you were joking or not but before you could speak some more, “Bleghh! You guys are grossing me out, go get a room.” Banri complained, “We are in a room, you dimwit!” You retorted back at him. “Tsk. -Sakuya really does love seeing the hyodo-sasika family interact, and when they all collectively noticed his yearning for a family dynamic, they pretty much adopted him. Saku comes over for dinner with juza and kumon, sometimes with muku, and sometimes with all of them!!! Their parents adore saku vv much

-Juza once saw sakuya climbing onto a counter to get something from the top shelf and remembered how kumon does the same, from then on he told sakuya to ask him if he needed help reaching something

-Its kinda funny, they have an older-younger brother dynamic, but depending on the situation its like they switch roles

-Usually sakuya is like an older brother tho

It Never Gets Old

Juza's debut performance is not new to you. You've seen it a handful of times already but for some reason, you just don't seem to grow tired of it.

• A/n: I MEANT IT WHEN I SAID I WANT TO WRITE FOR A!3. This might be inaccurate with the game's plot though because I haven't played it yet bUT I'M PLANNING TO BECAUSE I'M GETTING SICK WITH GENSHIN I WANT TO PLAY ANOTHER GAME.

You chuckled so loud Juza had to pause the video.

"Really?" Juza muttered as he stared at you chortling on his bed.

The both of you are lying on your stomachs, your faces facing his laptop where 'The Roman Episode' plays, specifically pausing at the exact moment where Juza was spilled on the floor after Banri's realistic punch.

Seconds have passed since Juza paused the video from playing and yet, you still have not recover. Your hands are cupping your mouth, a futile attempt of concealing your laughter. Your shoulders shaking along with your head that seemed to be flushed with heat.

Not to mention, sniffing can be heard along with your chuckles as beads of tears form at the corner of your eyes with overflowing joy.

"I'm sorry," you managed to say despite your peals of laughter, "It's... It's just...you take pride with saying that you're stronger than Banri and yet..." You snorted.

Juza's cheeks flushed by how you're laughing at him. Not wanting to feel embarrassed more, he attempted on stripping his self off from his bed. Only to be stopped as you pulled him back. Take note, still laughing.

"No, don't go! I'm sorry, I'll stop laughing," and yet you say this as you choke at your own laughter.

Juza tried to appear unimpressed by rolling his eyes. But truth to be told, he's torn. Whether he lets you mock him further just so he could hear your laugh or he kisses you because you're painfully beautiful at the moment.

"If I punched him back, I'd break my character. I'm supposed to receive his punch, you know?"

"Which makes it funny!" You reasoned as you rested your head on his arms, growing tired from laughing. Your hand slowly crawled its way towards his laptop, pressing a key to make the video move again.

"How is getting punched funny..." He muttered under his breath before resting his chin on his clasped hands, eyes unfocused on the screen. Rather, he was focused on you.

He feels your legs playfully interlocking with his, tickling his soles at the same time.

In the middle of bathing at your face, Juza is taken aback when you look at his way. He is thankful with the absence of light and the strands of his purple hair hiding his fuming cheeks.

Your noses are inches apart and so are your lips. Juza wouldn't hesitate to cut this distance short if only you did not speak.

"I'm sorry, can we replay that scene again?"

Juza frowned, "Again?"

And you break into laughter once more as your fingers run on the pad of his laptop, lips pressed in the hopes that it would tone your chuckle down.

"You love it when I get beaten, huh?" He said dramatically.

You turned to him, the cheeky smile still on your face, "I'm sorry, it never gets old."

juza:

○ bless this boy’s heart, because he genuinely won’t know in the slightest you have an interest in singing unless you come out and tell him. he’s not exactly known for being super observant and considering you’re too scared to even mention it to him, it could be literal months before he finds out about your secret hobby

○ eventually one of the more outright members of mankai (masumi, yuki, etc.) just flat out tell him you’re a singer and he’s absolutely floored. how come you never sang for him? no matter what you sounded like, he would love it with his entire soul because it’s coming from you

○ once you confess your internal fears to him, part of him really understands. he held back from joining theater because he knew he wasn’t cut out for it, and he won’t lie that he was worried about the reactions of people around him at his audition. the other part of him is aware that confronting the trepidation that haunts you will only make you feel more free afterwards, no matter how scary it seems

○ he asks if you would’ve made fun of his acting skills when he first joined mankai to which you obviously respond with a firm “of course not,” and says that he wouldn’t laugh at you either - so please let him hear your voice

○ not that he would’ve made fun of you regardless of your relationship because wow you have the voice of an angel. juza usually isn’t the most demanding of people but he asks you to sing song after song for him because he really can’t get over how soothing it is. it slowly starts to make him doze off, and the two of you end up going back to his dorm so you can cuddle and sing him to sleep (banri got kicked out for the night. he can sleep on the couch)

omi:

○ omi’s observation skills are a smidge better than juza’s, but not by much. he’ll occasionally notice you acting a little strange when you hear people singing on the street or when you two will watch musicals together, but he assumes that singing just makes you uncomfortable

○ clearly that is very much not the case, and eventually you gotta man up and tell him that you sing as a hobby if you ever want him to know. actually singing for him is a whole different ball game, but omi is a patient man. he’d rather wait until you’re ready than pressure you and make you uncomfortable

○ once he does hear your voice, he’s nothing more than a fool in love. the look on his face is nothing less than smitten and it’s blatantly obvious to anyone who sees him. (sakyo makes you guys go outside because the goopy nonsense between you two is way too intense for him)

○ he always carries around his camera to take photos of you singing in the moment. the pictures can’t capture audio of course, but the ethereal essence of the photo itself is enough to let whoever is seeing it know how wonderful the sounds must be

tsumugi:

○ why would you hide this from him. why would you be so cruel

○ tsumugi is the last boy on earth would ever judge you or show disinterest in the things you like. he always makes an attempt to learn about your hobbies in order to get closer to you and hopefully find something you can bond over. he’s vaguely aware you like to sing but never brought it up because he figured if you wanted him to hear then you would tell him

○ you just feel too damn guilty hiding it any longer and sort of ask him if he wants to hear you sing, but you’re already shutting yourself down before he can respond. he’ll gently hold your hands, giving you that heavenly smile that erases all bad thoughts (you know. the one) and letting you know there’s nothing he’d love more than to hear you sing for him

○ while he’s listening to you, he honest to god looks at you as if you’re the cure to everything bad in the world. he already adores you and this just adds to the many reasons why he loves you more than anything

○ he’ll most likely ask if he can record you singing one of his favorite songs so he can have “a small piece of heaven wherever he goes.” it’s absurdly hard to be insecure about yourself when all he ever does is sing you praises, and that’s why he makes sure to do it as often as he can

hisoka:

○ he knows. don’t ask how, he just does

○ the most realistic reason is because you didn’t realize he was sleeping somewhere you couldn’t really see and started to sing, effectively waking him up. he notes that it’s the first time he’s ever been woken up by someone else and he wasn’t upset about it. it was actually quite peaceful and pleasant - so peaceful in fact it put him right back to sleep

○ he doesn’t ever bring up the event happening, half because he doesn’t really think it’s necessary and half because he knows it’s good leverage to tease you with. he’s absolutely followed you to your room and slept outside your door while you sang to yourself inside. you never put two and two together

○ it’s only when you’re singing to yourself and realize he’s on the couch that you stop yourself and quiet down. a small “... keep going” comes from his lips and you realize you’d been caught red handed. you don’t even know he really likes your singing until a month after this because your voice always lulls him to sleep. there’s nothing he loves more than when you hold him in your arms and softly serenade him with lullabies as you both drift off to sleep together

at first, it is his dedication to acting that drew you to him - you admired his commitment and passion both on stage and behind the scenes

you would bring him something sweet to snack on whenever you noticed that he stayed up late learning his lines and he would help you out with chores in return

you are surprised and touched by juza’s thoughtful gestures because you didn’t know him well until then

juza’s caring nature and love for the troupe shines too brightly for you not to see that behind his impassive glare hid a kind heart that just couldn’t properly articulate its true feelings

juza is deeply grateful that you don’t judge him for his appearance and he feels like he can fully be himself around you. eventually you don’t even notice his glaring anymore because you know how kind juza actually is

you help him with his insecurities and always encourage him whenever he gets too stressed out or doubts his abilities. sometimes you read lines together and he comes to you for advice

to thank you for your continuous support, he invites you to sweets shops and surprises with you pastries

when juza realises that he is falling in love with you (what is this warmth in his stomach? why is his heart thumping much louder when you say his name?), he goes into a quiet state of panic. most of all he is afraid that his feelings for you will ruin what you had and that you wouldn’t want to hang out with him after that

poor clueless juza doesn’t even notice how your cheeks flush whenever he expresses his gratitude for you or your arms accidentally brush

the way you are so unapologetically yourself, kind and funny and enthusiastic about the world, makes him fall for you harder day after day

the idea that you could love him back doesn’t even cross his mind - he knows how hard he is to get along with because of his appearance, and though you are always kind to him, he thinks that you would’ve done the same for anyone and he is just another friend of yours

you end up implicitly confessing your feelings for juza to omi, who easily read between the lines. little did you know that juza also went to him for advice because he felt too distressed and clueless

now, omi has to work his magic to get the two of you to talk it out together. he asks both of you for help with baking and disappears to search for a mysterious ingredient, leaving the two of you alone

the confession scene is a bashful mess. omi may have hinted at each of you how the other felt, juza still doesn’t fully believe that you could like him back. he doesn’t want to pressure you into anything so he just hopelessly struggles to find the right words

eventually, you take the matter into your own hands. you confess to him first, but juza is so overwhelmed that he responds much quicker than usual. when omi returns, the tips of your ears are burning and juza is actively avoiding eye contact with him. that’s a win, omi smiles to himself and gives you a thumbs up

after that, juza doesn’t know how to act. omi gives you generous slices from the strawberry roll cake that you just baked and exits the kitchen to treat the rest of the company. you find yourselves alone in the kitchen again, having just barely recovered from the confession

juza is wondering whether he should kiss you or reach out for your hand or just act like he always did around you, as though nothing important had happened

the strawberry roll cake is delicious though, so you draw juza’s attention to that before making a move. as you eat, some of the timidity and tension dissipates and you manage to make small talk like you always did, happily discussing the softness of the texture and the sweetness of the cream

then, when you rise up to clean your plates, your hand brushes juza’s arm, hesitating slightly, asking him for permission with your touch, and he moves closer to you, carefully replicating your gesture as his cheeks prickle with warmth. your fingers cling onto the sleeve of his jacket more firmly then, and your lips meet in the middle, him gently leaning into you

juza tastes of sugar and strawberries. and to him, you are sweeter than any pastry he loves

when you pull away, juza doesn’t break eye contact, looking at you intently, and you take his calloused hand in yours. “i love you,” you say boldly, squeezing his hand. you feel braver now, ready to fight to make this love work. you wish to give juza all the affection he deserves and the world had denied him for so long

“i love you too, y/n.” his golden eyes are still firmly set on you, not letting go. a pang of anguish revives the fear that this could only be a dream, that the comforting pressure of your hand on his could vanish and he would drive you away, but he decides that he won’t back down. just like with acting, he will give this his all. it is him who kisses you then

Hyodo Juza: 

Inspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?

Juza is passionate about theater and acting in general but hearing your words of encouragement can add a new level of dedication. He wants you to look at him on the stage and see him completely transform into a new person, knowing you were cheering on a person who was doing his best to improve his acting skills. He knows that if he needs your honest opinion on something or a person to practice with you’ll do your best to help him out, assuring that he stays determined while dealing with his harshest critics (which tends to be himself or his troupe leader whose attempts at being helpful go awry). 

Quirk - Some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship.

Juza is very earnest about being a good boyfriend. Sometimes he’s not great with words and it can take some time for him to sort his emotions, not knowing what to say in certain situations and just having to feel it out based on instincts, but you can tell he’s always doing his best. He tries to be as thoughtful as possible and tries to see from your viewpoint if he can’t understand why you’re reacting a certain way, wanting you to know you can rely on him and that he does care about you. 

Value - How important is the relationship to them? What is it’s worth in comparison to other things in their life?

Juza had never been in a relationship before you so he takes it very seriously, considering it to be one of the most important things in his life. You’re not just a romantic partner to him but some he considers his best friend, some who knows who he really is and cares about him, and he doesn’t take this connection lightly. He doesn’t feel at all embarrassed if Banri calls him whipped because why should he be ashamed to show how much he appreciates you? It might still start a fight between them but you’re a person Juza’s willing to throw hands over. 

Wild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon.

Juza very much suffered from ‘love at first sight’, his heart-stopping the moment he saw you as he could do nothing but stare. He’s surprised you didn’t consider him some type of menace at first since he could barely talk to you, thinking you were so beautiful it was almost intimidating. Muku is the one who picks up on it quickly and though he doesn’t think his young cousin is correct that you’re also interested in Juza, he does appreciate that attempts at helping him as he would never have taken a chance with you if Muku hadn’t encouraged him to do so.

"ban-chan, how the heck is your hair so silky?!"

Banri usually starts up his day skirting everyone else in the lounge to be the first one in the showers. Unlike most of the men that reside in the Mankai dorms, he actually takes the time to scrub down every niche in his body until it's squeaky clean. But, oh, don't even get him started with the intricacies that came with taking care of his hair. That conversation is something none of the members of the troupe (except, maybe, Azuma) are ready for, and he likes to keep it that way.

But on a perfectly normal morning, at the perfectly flourished breakfast table, Taichi asks Banri a perfectly off-putting question.

"Ban-chan, how the heck is your hair so silky?!"

The neo gangster, as Yuki typically calls him, just finished shrugging on his school blazer when he casts Taichi a bizarre look. He has a notepad and a textbook in front of him, balancing a pen in his fingers as he stares back at Banri expectantly. The little brat is in the middle of cramming his homework, and he has the audacity to distract himself like that?

"Conditioner," is all he says in return, grabbing one of the toast slices Omi left for them.

Juza scoffs from where he's stuffing his face with pancakes on the other end. "That ain't very helpful." 

"I wasn't fucking talking to you, Hyodo," Banri grates at him dismissively. 

"Banri-kun," he hears Sakuya calling out from the lounge, where he and Masumi are already slinging their schoolbags across their shoulders. "You ready to go?"

He spares Taichi a minute nod of the head, telling him to stop doing his homework the day it's due before picking up his own bag. Then, he gives Juza the finger, earning a momentary scolding from Sakyo, who just happens to pass by when he does it. Then, after a few words in farewell bid to those who don't work nor study—Citron delaying their departure a little because he'd wanted to show how to make a blade (braid)—the Hanasaki High boys were on their way. 

"So noisy," Masumi mutters as he pulls the door behind him. "But if it was the Director, I wouldn't mind." 

Sakuya laughs, leading the way for the three of them. "There's never a dull moment in the dorms, huh?" 

As they traverse the short distance to school, Banri hangs back a little when Sakuya asks Masumi about the younger boy's literature class. Their conversation fades into background noise in his ears as he let his eyes wander around the neighborhood. But when they pass by a familiar intersection, Banri instinctively flickers his gaze at the tall, white house in the corner lot—a girl in a dark green uniform closing the gate behind her. 

You're preoccupied with something on your phone, oblivious to the three boys that are walking past your house—him included. But given that Ouka High is the opposite way from where they're headed, he doesn't even get the chance to slip in a quick hello. 

Well, it's not like you'd remember someone like him, right?

"Ugh, this sucks!"

A week after Banri moved into the Mankai dorms, he found himself facing a rather pressing dilemma: the shampoo provided for the troupe members made his hair disgustingly greasy.  

And that was how he wound up at the nearby grocery store, grumbling about how cheap that yakuza, Sakyo, was being with their commodities. If you want something else, buy it yourself, he told him. Giving the old man the last word might have let his pride take a hard blow, but it was a small price to pay for comfort. He'd rather kiss ass to the cheapskate than live another day with greasy hair.

But when he reached the toiletries section, he realized another thing. 

The brand he used at home was something his sister imported from another country. 

"Having trouble picking something out?"

Banri cast a withering glare at the girl who dared to point out his predicament, but his irritation morphed into curiosity when he noticed that you donned the familiar green of the Ouka High uniform. The next thing he noticed was the way your shiny, luscious hair cascaded down your shoulders, as smooth as a waterfall. He retracted his hostility for a minute, wondering if you could be his saving grace. Banri was good at a lot of things, but he didn't want to make any gambles with his current conundrum. 

"Yeah," he answered hesitantly. "Uh, do you know which brand doesn't make your hair oily? Shampoo brand, I mean." 

You blinked up at him for a second, confused, before your eyes lit up with realization. "Ah, O'Real is a really nice brand. Makes my hair really bouncy." To demonstrate, you swished your head around, making your long tresses sway with the movement in a dazzling fashion. "But you can't just settle with the shampoo. It's better to buy the value pack with conditioner over...here." 

Plucking one of the aforementioned value packs, you handed it to Banri without much preamble. He glanced at the price tag stuck to the bottom, and he had to force himself not to wince with how much it'll cost him. 

He was momentarily spared from his monetary concerns when he noticed you struggling to carry the basket you held in both hands. It was filled with an assortment of products ranging from laundry detergent to cold cuts. While he usually didn't offer girls his help lest they asked for it, Banri decided to make an exception.

"You need a hand with that?" He flicked his gaze downwards. 

You flushed at his offer, shaking your head (his eyes staring a bit too long at the way your hair moved once again). "Oh, no, no! I couldn't possibly bother you with—"

"Come on," he said, clicking his tongue as he plucked the basket from your grasp. "I ain't taking no for an answer. Consider this as...payback. For helpin' me out."

Relenting, you folded your arms across your chest, smiling up at him cheekily. "Would you at least tell me your name, then?" 

"Settsu Banri," he replied coolly. "You still headed to the other aisles?"

"Nope. I remembered last minute that I still have an unopened bottle of conditioner at home," you sigh, giggling at him. "You're not very delicate with girls, are you?"

He stiffened for a moment. Well, you weren't wrong. His sister was one of the toughest women he'd ever seen, and even though he didn't expect every woman to turn out the same way, Banri never once treated girls like fragile glass. His raucous behavior around them prompted most of his female classmates to steer clear of him—not that he'd minded, but this was the first time someone had spoken the words to his face.

"What about you?" he wondered gruffly in hopes of switching up the conversation. "What's your name?" 

"(Surname) (Name)," you told him with a cheeky grin. "Shall we go, Settsu-kun? I mean, you'd want to wash your greasy hair as soon as possible, right?"

His mouth hung agape with disbelief as you happily pranced out of the toiletries section—leaving him with the realization that there were people aside from Juza that could pick a fight with him. 

And, surprisingly, he'd let this one slide.

"You know (Name)?" 

Okay, he didn't expect Juza to react like that when Banri decided to ask him about you when his roommate arrived at home. 

"Yeah, I ran into her at the grocery store a few months back," he says, ticked off. "What's it to ya?"

"Stay away from her," Juza tells him off sharply as he swings his school bag up to his bed. "I mean it, Settsu. Fuck around with me, I don't care. But I swear to god, if you touch my cousin—"

Banri does a double-take on that one. "Cousin? How much fuckin' family do you have, Hyodo?" 

"A lot," he replies like he doesn't want to talk about it, but Juza's glare doesn't ease up and for a minute, Banri feels a genuine spite emitting from his roommate. The neo gangster sighs, twirling his phone in his fingers. He sort of knew that asking Juza about you would be a stretch even if you both went to the same school, but how the hell was he supposed to know that you were his goddamn cousin?

After you checked out your groceries that day, you managed to scam him into carrying them for you to your house as well. You were quite the charmer, he had to admit. You'd smooth-talked him into doing your bidding so easily that it was hard to imagine you being related to the mumbling nervous wreck of an actor that was Juza. 

It was a chance encounter, he thinks. He could have gone to a different grocery store at a different time at a different date, yet he was there specifically when you found him glaring at the shampoo and conditioner on the shelves. Banri doesn't believe in shit like fate or destiny, but it was a little freaky when he'd seen you again this morning after Taichi asked about his hair—months since he'd last seen you. 

"If it means anything, she's always been going to our shows, though," Juza mumbles a few minutes later, catching Banri by surprise. "She's been curious about the guy that's been pickin' fights with me all this time, and I told her it was the one who played Luciano in Picaresque."

"O-Oi!" he yells out. "Don't sully my name before she can even properly meet me!"

"Why do you care?" Juza challenges, brows raised with curiosity. "I thought you didn't give two shits about girls."

For the first time, he can't offer up a single retort. In a battle of wits, he thought he'd win against Juza in every instance, but now...

"Fuck off!" Banri shouted at him, storming out of their room as he hid the blush creeping up his neck from his roommate's view.

Juza isn’t used to having friends, so when you express interest in befriending him he’s slightly shocked, to say the least. He’s surprised you’re not more intimidated by his appearance as most people steer clear of him because of things he can’t control

He finds you incredibly kind, and is so grateful that you don’t see him at just face value with the way he looks

Juza tends to like going to hangout at bakeries or any sweet shops, especially because he feels a little less out of place having you there. He enjoys sharing the sweets there with you!

If he ever buys sweets with you not there and you hangout soon after, he tends to share any leftovers he may possibly have

If you ever attend his plays, he’ll be extremely happy about it although he may not always show it outright but you can tell from the way he gives you a hug, offers a small smile, and thanks you earnestly

Juza Hyodo - Baking Together With S/O HCs

Juza has probably never actually baked until now, most likely because that would require letting his family know of his love of sweets — it’d be hard to hide the many failed attempts he’d end up going through — so when you’d called him over, it was all too obvious from the childlike sparkle in his eyes that he was more excited than he let on. Mayhaps you’d thought to yourself it’d be a activity the both of you could enjoy together, and so in introducing him to it, you’d open up a few doors for future dates!(Plus, it was the perfect opportunity to get him in a silly apron hehehe).

Given this, you’ll have to instruct Juza on what to do, which is pretty easy since he’s very willing to learn, always trying to follow your lead as best he can. He’s actually having a lot of fun, although it’s likely to come off as his trademark glaring. Don’t let it discourage you; Juza’s in his zone, and if he’s not then he’s probably just thinking about how adorable you look—

He’s a bit heavyhanded and clumsy, but Juza’s actually a great help for anything requiring raw physical strength; whether it’s stirring the mixture or kneading dough, he’ll do it without complaint. If you happen to be at Mankai, it’s also likely that Tsuzuru and Omi have set cooking appliances and ingredients a bit high up. If you’re too short to reach them, it’s no problem because you have Juza, who is a 6,0ft tol boi and will gladly hand it over to you. For maximum UwU I recommend kissing him on the cheek so you can watch him sputter and light up like an LED.

Once it’s in the oven, Juza finds himself fidgeting impatiently waiting for it to bake. He wants to eat it now, darn it! You’re probably going to feel like a mom with how much you hear “is it done yet?” On the plus side, now you get to clear up all the leftovers, and sometimes that means sampling all that you hadn’t used. All of Juza’s longing gazes are now fulfilled! He might not have been able to lick the spoon (he was too shy to ask), but at least he can finish off that gorgeous bar of Cadbury’s chocolate...
