The world of the Estonians’ ancestors – Kaali crater, the place where "The sun went to rest"

Kaali is a group of nine meteorite craters in the village of Kaali on the Estonian island of Saaremaa. It was created by an impact event. The largest crater is 110 m (360 ft) in diameter and forms a small lake named Lake Kaali.

The impact is thought to have happened in the Holocene period, around 3,500 years ago. The estimates of the age of the Kaali impact structure provided by different authors vary by as much as 6,000 years, ranging from ~6,400 to ~400 years before current era (BCE). According to the theory of more recent impact, Estonia at the time of impact was in the Nordic Bronze Age and the site was forested with a small human population. The impact energy of about 80 TJ (20 kilotons of TNT) is comparable with that of the Hiroshima bomb blast. It incinerated forests within a six km (3.7 mi) radius.

The event figured prominently in regional mythology. It was, and still is, considered a sacred lake. There is archaeological evidence that it may well have been a place of ritual sacrifice.

It is possible that Saaremaa was the legendary Thule island, first mentioned by ancient Greek geographer Pytheas, whereas the name "Thule" could have been connected to the Finnic word tule ("(of) fire") and the folklore of Estonia, which depicts the birth of the crater lake in Kaali. Kaali was considered the place where "The sun went to rest."

Friday the 13th has been demonized for years and I'm gonna just tell y'all. STOPPPRR 😭

So as we all know, divine feminine been demonized for years itself. She is dark. She is unknown. She is path to the world that can't be seen. She is mysterious. She holds the utmost power to manifestation. She is cant be touched or obtained. She can be channelized. She is the creator. She is represented by darkness. The "Dark energy".

Kind of reminds you of something?

If you are an astronomy freak like me, you must've heard about the "Dark Energy" that has all the scientists scratching their heads and they still can't get the hold of it?. Well the DARK ENERGY covers 90% of our universe and is responsible for the expansion of it. And guess what, we humans dont even know what it is yet.

Isn't that amazing how spirituality and science overlap at times?

Anyways.

Friday the 13th back in the days was celebrated as the birth of Divine Feminine. The goddess energy. Why friday? Because its ruled by Venus. And why 13th? Number 13 is portal of life and death. Kinda womb energy right there. It's a transformative number of ending and creation. For example if you want to release soemthing off your life. Work with number 13 and you'll release. And ofc in today's society it's the God. Instead of Goddeses that once were celebrated.

No wonder the day got demonized along with every other practices in the world that empowered women to be in their true powerful sence of feminity and element.

Kaali the representation of divine feminine herself, who rules death, transformation and time truly represents and embodys what I just explained right about now. If you want to understand fierce side of divine feminine in general. It may clear your understanding as well towards the real feminity instead of how its shown in media. The submissiveness and too polite for her own good. The toxic representation of it.

Also a weird observation, people born on friday the 13th would surreally carry this goddess energy to them, doesn't matter the gender. They may also embody feminine traits to them. unexplainable. But it is there.

A tweet of a film poster that shows Hindu goddess Kali smoking a cigarette has sparked rage in India.

Leena Manimekalai, a Toronto-based director, tweeted the poster on Saturday, July 2. In the tweet, Manimekalai announced that her film Kaali would be released as part of the Aga Khan Museum's Rhythms of Canada Festival.

But the reception was overwhelming frenzied in India, where religious tensions are becoming more volatile. Last month, a Hindu shopowner was beheaded for allegedly insulting the Prophet Muhammad.

This incident followed an earlier death caused by a Hindu politician's comments against the Muslim Prophet.

Manimekalai became trending on Twitter in India as many called for her arrest. Some Twitter users asked the Aga Khan Museum to takedown Manimekalai's poster for hurting religious sentiments, calling it blasphemy.

One Twitter user urged government officials to consider how Hindus were treated for hurting religious sentiments, referring to the deaths of Hindus that involved insulting the Muslim prophets. "Please don't forget how we were questioned for hurting religious sentiments & needful action must be taken," the tweet said.

Speaking to the BBC, Manimekalai explained that her film depicts the goddess Kali as a champion of humanity and embraces diversity.

"As a poet and filmmaker, I embody Kali in my own independent vision," she said.

The censure and the backlash Manimekalai faces show that hardline conservative Hindus react to perceived insults vehemently. This backlash is apparent in how the Indian government mandated Facebook and Twitter India to shut down Atheist Republic's social media access in the country.

According to Kunwar Khuldune Shahid of the Newslaundry, reactions from Hindutvas and Islamists clearly show why "there must be no free speech exception for religion."

In his article, Shahid outlined how two western arts, the Charlie Hebdo caricature and AR's Blasphemous Art, triggered both Muslims and Hindus into a rage.

The reaction is similar to what Manimekalai's film has garnered. Rebuke for the art, and arrest or worse, death to the artist.

The fight has been relentless. May the fight go on till every force which tries to pull back society into darkness is vanquished.

Mundane things that feel like art to me :

Long fingers playing piano, rough and big hands rubbing on moisturizer gently, nimble yet soft touches on the face, a sweet smile you give to someone and you realize that you are genuinely happy and feel beautiful because of them, someone playfully but carefully tugging on your hair to grab your attention, fast typing of the keyboard while words tumble out of your brain, that huge spark in those eyes of yours when you understood something you've been working on, little scribbles of lyrics and poems, when you put effort into something and work hard for it, the way you pause to look at trees, and kindness and smiles and hugs and soft gentle forehead and cheek kisses.
