Also since I’m releasing my grievances against this series and it’s fandom.
What a ridiculous take to say people who like Ironwood are bootlickers. It shows the general age of this fandom.
You know a healthier fandom, Fullmetal Alchemist doesn’t harass people who love King Bradley. A government leader more objectively evil than Ironwood in every single way.
Because they and every other fandom in the whole wide world don’t take character preferences as a moral flaw. Because they’re normal.
Also am I supposed to take RWBY seriously as a setting or not?
A nightmare world filled with demons like Grimm at the door should have a completely different governmental structure than reality. Martial Law and the such should be the norm look at Kabenari, Sleepless Domain, Ars, Chainsaw Man as to how they effect society on a daily basis in different ways. RWBY itself says Kingdoms have been wiped off the map overnight. It can’t add such lore and then get mad at Utilitarianism. That’s nonsensical. But it’s clear the writers had zero thought about the world.
You can’t act like it’s our world with the annoyance of monsters without making the grimm completely toothless. And if they are a threat. Nobody should be surprised at a military leader doing his best to to save the majority and not all.
Like all it shows is how poor the writing of RWBY is. That a military leader doing the most basic thing any military leader in any other fiction would do is considered controversial.
Then again this is the same series that said supplies for a satellite somehow equal supplies for a wall? what a dumb conflict ball.
Terrible writing all the way down.

do you have a particularly stand-out "oh i saw that as a gif" moment? bc i've recently been watching "Kabenari of the Iron Fortress" and finally found out where that gif of the buff lady taking off her vest to pull a very large steampunk train lever is from. I'm kinda salty so much of the show is glowing zombies flipping through the air when we could be focusing on the large train buttons and how tactile they are, but that's beside the point.
I could've told you Kabaneri was ass.
And to answer your question, I think I got into Monogatari of all things cause of random gifs.

so i read the prologue for the thtnw's sequel and i loved it so much, you truly never disappoint with your world building and plot set up. since in your previous work you mentioned you were inspired by dororo, kabenari of the iron fortress and journey to the west, i was wondering if you were inspired by anything for this part? i only recently finished watching dororo and i loved it so much, will probably start kabenari next!
I am also a huge fan of mythological stories so I'm really excited for what's to come next, but regarding that too, did you take inspiration from any mythological related media?
Hi, anon! And *SCREAMS* a fellow mythology geek omg, so nice to meet you, hello hello!!!!!
For the sword, the sea, and a dream yet to be fulfilled (man, I should stop making these titles so long), I had to go back to the classics! I read some passages from Nihon Shoki and Kojiki then binged documentaries about them. Can I just say tho that the legends based on Susanoo are some of my absolute faves ever cuz that guy is just wack lmao. He's not Sun Wukong type of crazy (pretty hard to beat that level of batshit insanity) but Susanoo-based myths are really entertaining!
I also took inspiration from Greek & Roman myths (Orpheus and Eurydice, through this fic I shall avenge you, my tragic pookies!!!), Dante's Divine Comedy (cuz their depiction of hell is my fave), and classic poetry (I have sticky notes of some of my fave stanzas from William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven and Hell and Songs of Innocence & of Experience on my fic outline).
I also read Shogun by James Clavell way back, like waaayyyy before I even started writing the heart that never withers, and I guess it kinda informed my own writing (especially the military/politics part). There's a Netflix series that came out recently based on the book! I haven't watched it yet but from the reviews I've been seeing it seems just as great! Maybe you can watch it sometime if you'd like :D
Thank you so, so much for this ask btw! That fic is a really niche story ik, so I'm always over the moon hearing that somebody enjoyed reading it!!!! Hope you had a pleasant day!

My List of The Best Villains That Make My Blood Boil
Biba Amatori- from Kabenari: Manipulative and ruthless, he believes that any and all weakness is a sign of failure. He stresses to never rely on others, despite his big army. He brainwashes and uses people until they serve his purpose, and then discards them at the end.
Malcolm Danvers-Otherworld book series: A narcissist and an abusive person, he wants total control over his wolf pack. He believes in only brute force, and discounts anything peaceful. He views woman as objects, also being sexist.
Harrison Welles/Eobard Thawne-The Flash: He tricks everyone into believing that he cares about them, and teaches them to be better while on the inside, secretly planning to kill them. He is manipulative and deceptive, striking when he knows Barry’s weaknesses.
Killgrave-Jessica Jones: Again, a sociopathic, murdering stalker who only cares about himself. His fixation on Jessica lead to even more deaths, as he couldn’t let her go. He hides behind false kindness before he uses people. He has depth, being childhood trauma that he uses as a excuse for what he’d became. He thinks he has done nothing wrong, all the while.
Johan Liebert- Ursawa’s Monster: Yet another sociopathic person who doesn’t care about anyone who gets in his way, except for his fixation on his sister. He uses his insane intelligence to manipulate people, scarily making them all do his bidding. Interestingly enough, part of his personality was shaped by Kinderheim 511, making him into the chilling, titular monster.

Anime To Watch: (as understood by someone who has never seen them)
Your Lie In April - sad. also, violins
Natsume’s Book Of Friends - guy summons things with a book. friends, presumably
Toriko - huge muscled guys collect rare ingredients for tiny cook boy
Log Horizon - virtual reality, like SAO but better
Kuroko no Basket - op basketball players w/not-magic magic abilities
Magic Kaito - thief??? drama lol
Free!! - swimming, but gay
Space Brothers - brothers in space. or on their way to space. I’m not too clear on that
Darker Than Black - idk man, contracts are a big thing, and so are masked people
Monster - doctor vs. serial killer: fight!
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure - a metric fuckton of people with the same initials having adventures. the only screenshots I’ve seen give off incredibly cursed and chaotic energy
Yuri!!! On Ice - ice skaters doing ice skater things........ ice skater-ly
Chihayafuru - poems, but intense
Wotakoi - cute romance, but they’re adults instead of high schoolers and also nerds
Zombie Land Saga - my first thought was scene kids, but I really hope it’s real zombies
Silver Spoon - city boy becomes farm boy
Cowboy Bebop - cowboys, but space. there’s a bonsai garden. been described as a classic
Baki - people get beat up, and also there’s muscles. hulking buffness. everybody’s a beefcake.
Attack On Titan - big fleshy people eat little human people. little human people don’t like this for some reason
Kabenari of the Iron Fortress - there’s a pink-haired girl with gorgeous shoulder muscles. and also there’s zombies
Steins;Gate - as far as I can tell,,,,,,, time travel??

Thinking about how underrated this show is. It went under my radar for so long and when I finally took the time to watch it, I wasn’t disappointed.

Anyone here heard of ‘Kabenari of the iron Fortress’?
I ended up watching the movie and I feel like I missed a lot.
I did enjoy the movie and want to know if seeing the series is worth it?

what r some other animes u like besides death note 👁👁
Oooo I gotta admit, I'm prettyyy basic, but I do have a great couple ones to list off!
Naruto's the number one love of my life! It's like comfort trash food!
Cowboy Bebop and Eva have some of the most AMAZING filmmaking I've ever seen! GOD and the former's story makes me cry every time!
Naming off some more classics, Samurai Champloo, Kabenari of the Iron Fortress (by the same director as DN!!), Hunter x Hunter (although I can't get past the chimera ant arc, I'm so sorry)
And with the new popular stuff, I LOVE Demon Slayer and MHA, although I've fallen off of the latter lately! I'm trying really hard to get into JJK but I haven't had the time lately.
And BANANA FISH SHATTERED MY HEART (can't recommend it enough!!)
I'm definitely missing a bunch, but that's a pretty solid list I think!
