“Look at her.” You coo, peering over the padded changing table, wrangling Delilah’s tiny arms and long limbs gently into the costume. A random find you had shipped last minute, random and adorable and everything you’d ever wanted for your babies first Halloween. 

“She’s so fuckin’ cute.” Eddie grinned, dimples creasing in the scruff of his beard, at its beginning stages of salt and peppering like the curls that framed his hairline. “How did you find one this small?” 

“I got it off Etsy, so I could put the size in. Pretty handy because everything was too small for her.” You hum, shushing the small whimper that tore from Lilah’s chest. 

Only three months old, still tiny and fresh and new, but bigger than before. Bigger than when you first brought her home, scared out of your own mind that you’d drop her, break her, hurt her. Eddie was always so calm, so good about your fears and helping you- he’d done this before. He knew what it was like to be scared shitless with a baby. 

“How’d you come up with this?” Eddie’s eyes sparkled when they met yours. “Thought you were doing the bat and I was gonna be Ozzy?” 

“She’s too little for the bat costume. The biggest they made wouldn’t fit her, so I figured next year.” You shrugged. “I thought this was cuter.” 

“A kangaroo, hm?” Eddie’s finger brushed over Lilah’s cheek, grinning at the way she turned into his touch. 

“She’s Roo, Eddie, from Winnie the Pooh.” You glare at him playfully, grabbing the blue sweater next to you with the cross stitched letters ‘ROO’ on the front. “And I have some ears and a brown sweater and I’m Kanga. Get it? Because I’m her Mama.” You babble down at the baby, voice lifting in that airy coo of a tone that had Lilah’s lips curling in a gummy smile. 

“Oh,” Eddie nods, helping you maneuver Lilah’s balled fist through the sweater. “Just a you and Lilah costume?” 

“You get to be Ozzy and a bat next year.” You countered lightly, though your stomach flipped in fear. Fuck, maybe the suprise thing was stupid. Maybe you should have included him. “I mean, I can run to Target and try to find a shirt with Winnie on it or-” 

“-I’m just kidding.” Eddie shook his head, a gentle, calming hand rubbing down your spine. “I think it’s adorable. Both of you.” You beam, looking down at your little Roo, the hoodie with tiny ears that poked up. “Besides, I’m more of a Tigger man myself.” 

You snort lightly, rolling your eyes. “You? Thought you’d be more like Rabbit.” 

“Rabbit? No, that’s you, bunny, c’mon.” Eddie grinned, pinching your thigh playfully so you squealed. 

“You better watch it, Munson.” You pointed at him, fixing Lilah’s little sweater in place. “We have to be at my parent’s house in, like, thirty minutes. And they’ll actually care if we’re late now.” 

“Yeah?” Eddie hummed, lifting Lilah carefully into his arms. Her brown eyes blinking back at him, the small furrow of her brows from being disturbed- she looked like Wayne. 

“Yeah.” You nodded, swiping a stack of diapers from under the changing table. “My mom’s already losing it because she can’t wait to see Lilah’s costume. I’m never doing this surprise shit again.” 

“It’s their first grandkid, baby. What did you expect?” Eddie followed you down the hallway towards your shared bedroom. “They’re excited. Brie and Madeline too. It’s her first Halloween.” 

“What time is Brie getting here?” You pulled the brown sweater over your head, folding the slouchy neckline into place. 

“She’s here, I think.” Eddie muttered, eyes squinting, scanning the room undoubtedly for his phone. You bit back a smile. “I told her just to go over to Madeline’s. She’s staying at her apartment anyway tonight since she’s going to Gina’s tomorrow.”

“Oh?” You quip, brows raised in surprise. “They’re talking again?” 

“Yeah,” The sigh Eddie let out was soft, but heavy enough you knew he was… bothered, to say the least. 

Brielle’s silence towards Gina came after her mother’s nasty, cruel words about your pregnancy months ago. Eddie always felt guilty that Brielle was in the middle of the mess that was his relationship with his ex, even if she was the one dragging Brielle into it, weaponizing her even now against Eddie so he’d feel insecure. 

“I don’t… I don’t want to think about that tonight.” Eddie admitted, a soft tone that sounded defeated, hurt, really. 

You nodded, looking at him through the mirror, slipping on your own DIY made Kanga ears on a velvet headband. “I’ll text my mom. Let her know we’re on our way before she shows up and breaks down our door.” You laugh lightly, hand petting over Lilah’s soft cheek, your own lips brushing over Eddie’s for a sweet kiss. 

The drive to your parent’s house was brief, it took longer for you to load up the car. Carriers, diaper bags, extra clothes, strapping in the car seat, everything- it was a chore to pack up a baby to bring, but it was worth it. The look on your mom’s face when you pulled Lilah out of the car, her coos and squeals of excitement. 

“She is adorable. Just precious, oh!” Your mom gushed, ushering her grandchild through the doors, leaving you and Eddie for the rest of the things. “Honey! Look, look at Lilah!” You heard her call, scampering into the house. 

“I think she’s excited.” You roll your eyes playfully, slinging the diaper bag over your shoulder. 

“Yeah,” Eddie smirked. “Can you blame her? She is pretty cute.” 

“She is.” You nod, head leaning against his shoulder while you walked towards the house. Your felt ears hit his chin, tickling the skin there, but he didn’t move. “Is Wayne still coming?” 

“When he gets off.” Eddie nodded, his hand squeezing your waist softly. “He had to work. Likes to work at the plant on Halloween. They always bring the kids to trick-or-treat.” 

“Really? We should bring Lilah next year.” You look up at him. 

“Yeah, he’d love that. Hope he retires this year though.” Eddie rolled his eyes. He’d been trying to convince Wayne he needed to retire for years, but the older man was stubborn. “I used to take Brielle there every year, and she loved it. He did too. He would always save her the best pieces of candy.” 

The warmth in your chest spread to your cheeks, tugging at your lips, curling into a smile. You liked hearing memories like this with Eddie, not ones tainted with Gina’s venomous actions and words. Your fist balled at the thought- no, you wouldn’t say anything. Not when Brielle drove all the way from Indianapolis to be here. Not when everyone was happy. 

The cackle of the girl in question floated through your ears as the two of you climbed the pumpkin lined steps. Your parents and Madeline had insisted on carving them with Lilah, for her first Halloween, they’d said. She hadn’t done much besides being passed from person to person in her little pumpkin onesie while they carved them, but it made your family happy- it made you happy. 

“... This is so cute! Ugh, Maddy, we definitely still had our costumes from junior year. I know mine’s in my closet at my mom’s. We could have been Piglet and Winnie with her.” Brielle nodded, cradling her tiny, baby sister in her arms.

“Yeah,” Madeline looked at you, brows furrowed in annoyance. “Why didn’t you tell us? We would have matched.” 

“I didn’t know.” You huffed, rolling your eyes at your little sister, Eddie shutting the door behind you. “I wanted it to be a surprise.” 

“Well, we could have matched.” Madeline’s lips pursed, only for a moment before she was back to Delilah, cooing at her. “Hold on, Brie, let me get a picture. No, let’s go out by the pumpkins, it'll be so cute!” 

“Hi, Dad.” Brielle muttered, leaning into his hug, still cradling Lilah. 

“Oh! Take my camera, Madeline!” Your mom called frantically, spinning in a half circle looking for her camera. 

“Hey, sweetheart. Your drive ok?” Eddie pressed a kiss to her head, finger tickling down Lilah’s little cheek. 

“Yeah, it was good.” Brielle hummed, following Madeline out the front door. 

“Hi, Mom.” You said, stepping towards her. 

“Hi- oh! That’s so precious, you two match! Where did you find this, honey? It is so cute! It is- hi, Eddie, how are you?- It reminds me of when you dressed up as Tigger one year. Your Dad is looking for the photo album right now, so I can do a side by side.” Your mom rambled, jittery with the excitement of Delilah, the holiday, the side by side post she was already plotting to post on Facebook so all her friends would go ballistic. 

“I gotta see that.” Eddie grinned, hand wrapping around your waist sweetly. 

“Dad is looking through it now- it’s in the second one!” Your mom yelled into the living room, over the re-run of Hocus Pocus playing for the millionth time. “I’m going to go take some pictures with the girls, but there’s chili and hotdogs in the kitchen and- oh, Eddie, I got you Fritos for yours.” 

Eddie blushed, cheeks tingling pink in the warmth of your home. Your mom had remembered from last Halloween, remembered something about him and gotten it for him. It was small, he knew it was, but it made him feel… content? Made him feel like a part of the family. 

Your mom didn’t hear his response, scurrying out to the front porch with her phone to take her own photos. Your eye roll made Eddie grin, pulling you into his side, pressing a kiss against your hairline where your velvet headband met your hair. 

“She’s insane.” You muttered. 

“She’s excited.” Eddie hummed, rubbing a hand down your hip soothingly. 

“She’s lost her mind.” You scoff. “I don’t think she even cares about me anymore. She’s just, like, give me my baby.” 

“Hey, it could be worse. Could want nothing to do with her.” Eddie sighed. He didn’t finish the sentence, didn’t tell you that Gina’s parents had been that way. 

Your heart ached for him, leaning into his chest. “I think they’re going to be busy for a while.” You tilted your head up to look at him. “You hungry?” 

“Starving.” Eddie grinned. “Especially for your Mom’s chili. I’ve been thinking about this all week.” 

“God, don’t tell her that.” You snort, arms still around his torso when you walked into the kitchen. “Her head will explode. She’s already got an ego because she’s a Grammy.” 

“Think you’ve got one too,” Eddie teased, eyes twinkling in the yellow light of the kitchen. You frowned, his hand rubbing over the ears of your headband. “You and Lilah in your matching outfits. ‘S cute.” He beamed, love struck and gooey, the way he would schmooze over you years before. 

You fought back the blush on your cheeks, lips twisting to hide your smile. “Yours is gonna be huge next year, Ozzy.” 

“It’s already huge, sweetheart. You know that.” Eddie purred playfully, squeezing the fat of your ass to make you jump and squeal, eyes cutting around to make sure none of your family was around. “I think it’s cute. Surprised she didn’t steal you for photos.” 

“Don’t give her any ideas.” You huff, pulling a bowl out of the cabinet. “How much do you want?” You ask, reaching for the ladle. 

Eddie shook his head, batting his hands away. “I got it. Got yours too, go sit down.” He nodded towards the table. 

You hesitated, Eddie’s hip bumping yours to move out of the way. “I want mine on-” 

“-chili on the hotdog, cheese on top, and no mustard.” Eddie hummed, spreading the bun to put the chili on. His eyes flicked to yours, smug smile on his face. “Right?” 

You nodded, sinking into the chair by the kitchen table, where you always sat growing up. Eddie smirked. “Told you, I got it. I got you tonight, alright? Take it easy. You don’t have to be Mama Be- Kangaroo tonight.” 

Your eyes roll, huffing lightly when you settle into your seat. Eddie maneuvered the two plates and a bowl with far better ease than you expected. It was nice, sitting in your childhood home with your husband, with your family. 

Your mom came bustling in with the photo of you in hand, a tiny toddler in an old school Tigger costume, face painted to match. Your dad holding Lilah in his recliner, feeding her the bottle you packed, content watching whatever sports he’d managed to flip on before your mom would make him change it back to Halloween movies. Wayne came by after his shift, a handful of candy for Brielle and Madeline, giving them a wink and a, “Told you I’d save you the good stuff. Always save you the good stuff.”  

Eddie beamed, watching it all from his own corner of the kitchen. Your mom and Wayne looking over photo albums, Brielle and Madeline giggling in the corner like they used to when they were younger- when the two of you had just met. You flitting between all of them, content and relaxed, Lilah in your arms. 

Eddie knew that Lilah would be loved. That she’d grow up in a better house than he had, that even Brielle had. In the type of family home he’d always dreamed of having, and now he had it, with you- because of you.

Look he's just a dude who wants his tiny country to be famous and decided that the best way to do that was to become a super villain (and also sometimes forcibly redirect flights to his country), he's fun and campy and obviously Geoff Johns made it so GL comics can't use him anymore.

So I've seen a lot of posts about Winnie the Pooh coming into public domain and a lot of people don't seem to know what that means, so I thought I'd write a brief explainer of whats free, whats not and what it all means, I'm not a lawyer but am minority hung up on Copyright law so here we go

Copyright:

copyright means a lot of things, but for us it means a person (or scary super corporation, hi Disney) owns A) the original story and are the only people who get to publish it and B) the intellectual property (IP), meaning the characters and setting of the story and are the only ones who can make stories with those character and that setting.

Finally after 95 years, the 1926 book, Winnie-the-Pooh, by A. A. Milne with illustrations by E. H. Shepard has come into the public domain.

What does that mean? well the public domain means something is no longer under copyright so belongs to everyone. For example, Dracula the 1897 novel by Bram Stoker is public domain. So A) you can reprint the original book without having to pay anyone for the story and sell physical copies if you'd like and B) you can us Dracula, Castle Dracula, Abraham Van Helsing, the Harkers, or Lucy Westenra in any work of fiction you like, you can have Dracula go to space or open a disco if you'd like.

That's true of Winnie the Pooh now as well, with-in limits.

What's Public?

Here's the thing, A. A. Milne wrote two Winnie the Pooh books, the 1926 "Winnie-the-Pooh" and 1928's "The House at Pooh Corner" anything and everything in the 1926 is free. That means Winnie the Pooh himself, Christopher Robin, Piglet, Eeyore, Owl, Rabbit, Kanga, Roo, and the Hundred Acre Wood itself are all public domain. However, Tigger first appeared in the 1928 book so is under copyright till 2024.

So you could not write a story with Tigger in it or based on the events of stories that appear in The House at Pooh Corner because those are copyrighted.

The Milne family sold the copyright to Winnie the Pooh (et al) to Disney back in 1962, and starting with Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree in 1966 Disney has been making movies, TV shows, and sometimes books about Pooh bear and friends. All those stories and adventures, in so far they're not based on the original 1926 stories, are still under copyright.

Also Disney redesigned the bear to the version most of us know today:

which if you wanted you could screen print that on a t-shirt and sell it now if you wanted and no one can stop you.

any ways images of the Disney versions of the characters are still copyrighted since they are clearly distinct from the 1926 illustrations. That said there's nothing stopping you from reimagine the characters and drawing them in your own style if you want, or copying Shepard's style.

Trademark:

Now part of why Disney isn't freaking out is because there's versions of the characters are protected for many many years, a lot like Snow White where the original story is public domain but Disney owns the public's image of the story because of the popularity of their 1937 movie. The other part is Trademark.

Trademark is different than copyright. Copyright is the ownership of the whole idea, so someone can't put "Batman" into their book, Bruce Wayne can't just show up in the middle of someone's book or movie without paying DC comics money for the usage. However, what if I wanted to write a book about a scientist who studies bats and slowly goes mad and I wanted to title it "Batman!"

That would not infringe on the copyright DC holds to the character Batman because they're totally unrelated ideas. However thats where Trademark comes in.

Companies (and sometimes people) can trademark words, phrases, and images. That means that no one can use that word, phrase or image to market or sell a product.

for example, in 1977 DC comics bought the rights to "Captain Marvel" the 1940s superhero, today know as SHAZAM for reasons I'm about to explain. However in 1967 Marvel Comics trademarked the name "Captain Marvel" and published any number of books by that title with a series of not very popular Captain Marvels (till they finally got to Carol Danvers).

All this meant that DC could not publish a book called "Captain Marvel" even though they had a copyright to a character with that name. Because the cover of a comic is marketing, so Captain Marvel could be in comics, he could be called by name inside the comic, his image could be on the cover, but they couldn't ever use his name on a cover.

What does this have to do with Winnie the Pooh? well as you can imagine the names (and Disney images) of Pooh and friends are trademarks of the Disney company. As such if you put them into a book they couldn't be named on the cover of your book, so "Winnie the Pooh's new adventures" is out but "A bear's adventure" would pass the test. You could put Winnie the Pooh in your fighting video game for example, but trailers and posters and box art could not name him, but he could be named in game.

Hi, any band/song recommendations for a baby bat who’s listened to all the big names already?

Honestly I always have a really bad gauge on what goth music is considered “big names” aside from the BIG big names, like idk, I found out recently that Clan of Xymox and Lords of the New Church both aren’t actually THAT famous when I thought they were household names and consider them totally goth essential listening? I steep myself so deep in this world that I lose track of what’s actually “known” 😭 But personally, in terms of some bands I think don’t get quite as much attention I’d probably first recommend ACTORS, who are a newer darkwave band who I ADORE, their 2018 album “It Will Come To You” has such a pleasant wistful vibe to it and I love their synths. I’m seeing them live for the second time on Sunday actually!

I listen to a lot of fusion with goth and other genres, not just trad stuff so I’m gonna spit out a few things that I would recommend to goth music people that might not be 100% trad: TR/ST is kinda like gothy electronic synth stuff, I really like them a looooot and they hit hard when they come on at the club. Light Asylum is a band I’ve seen live and they are AMAZING too, Shannon’s voice is just incredible. Indradevi is not necessarily classic goth in sound but it’s Matthew Setzer of Skinny Puppy/ohGr/London After Midnight fame’s project that combines like dark synth dance music with classic Cambodian pop and that is one of favorite recent bands in the entire fucking world, seriously cannot recommend them enough to absolutely anyone. Kanga is super good, Foie Gras is like shoegaze but she’s really really good, I saw them together and they both put on an amazing show. Bootblacks is great too, I love their first album. Video Vision is doin some awesome stuff as well and their frontman is a cutie lol.

ALSO If you haven’t checked out Southern Death Cult, their self titled album is like one of my absolute favorite goth albums in the whole world. Belfegore is really good too, they have some hidden goth gems that I don’t see get acknowledged nearly enough. Magazine isn’t necessarily goth really (more punky rock ig) but they’re from The Era and lots of goths love em and they have some gothy songs that I looooove, like “Permafrost” is 👌

Uhh hopefully this is a decent list to give you some other projects to check out! I tried to stay mostly more classic gothy sounding stuff and nothing too heavy since a lot of the music I listen to is also really steeped in industrial sound even though they perform at darkwave events LOL so yeah 😭 Enjoy I hope!!

blankets: how do you relax together?

Pat, Eric and I all relax the same way, with music on in the background and just laying down together, somtimes cuddled up. J on the other hand is more relaxed when he knows Eric and his crow are watching over Pat and I, and he can clean his knives.

rainbows: how do you spend an off day inside together?

Pat and I like to go to the park and take pictures, somtimes we like to bring things with us, other times we take pictures of just the world around us, and other times we'll take pictures of either one or both of us. Afterwards we'll end up getting coffee or hot chocolate.

J much prefers to stay in on his days off from creating chaos, so we tend to watch movies and eat a bunch of snacks. Somtimes if im lucky he'll let me draw him while he's watching Tom and Jerry or Ren and Stimpy.

Eric and I go out on walks around town, once in a while if the shops are open we'll take a look to see what CDs they have. In the evening we end up going to a goth night.

lights: how do you spend your night together?

I ussually will draw, collage, or paint while Pat either watches or cuddles me. If Eric and J are home, Eric will play his guitar while J organises his ideas for the next day.

nostalgia: what makes you and your f/o nostalgic?

Music can make Pat, Eric and I feel nostalgic. For Pat and I it's Let my Love Open the Door by Pete Townshed, because it was the first love song we shared a dance to. For Eric and I it's Untitled by The Cure because it was the first song he played for me. J and I feel nostalgic over a particular playing card because I had tried to recreate his art work and it turned out terrible (we both agreed he should stick to card art).

moods: what makes your f/o happiest?

Hearing "I love you" makes both Eric and Patrick so happy, so much so they will ask for me to say it again. Though Pat also gets happy when we put on a record and dance together. J is happiest when he teaches me small things like how to pick a lock or how to accurately thow a knife, especially if i pick it up quickly.

starry: what gets both you and your f/o excited?

Pat and I get excited when we find bat, koala and kangaroo stuffies. Its a tad bit silly, but we both get so happy when we find our matching stuffies :3

Eric and I get soooo excited when we see another goth in our neighborhood, a CD we've been looking for, and when we find out there's a goth night closer to us.

J and I get really excited when we have knife throwing competitions in the house. Even though J always wins, I still get really excited when he promises a competition. (Yes Pat hates it bc ome wrong move and somone could get hurt)

comfort: how do you take care of each other?

Eric and J have a strange way that they comfort one another. Since they both have moments when they are reminded of the past, they will sit close together away from eveyone/everything and they'll just talk. Pat and I never know what about, just that they're helping one another out. J and Eric are both very observant which means they both catch if I skipped a meal or didn't do somthing that I needed to do. They'll (including Pat) scold me for not doing whatever it was and will make sure the next week or two that I do the things I need to.

relief: how does your f/o help you feel better? how do you help them?

When im having a tough night Pat will cuddle up with me giving me my kangaroo stuffy, while while Eric is on my other side letting me rest my head on his chest listening to his humming, with J holding my hand or with a hand on my sholder. They all try to keep me with them when the thoughts start to plaque my mind.

If Pat isn't doing well I will get him his bat plushy, we'll cuddle up on the couch and I'll stroke his hair. If he's homesick we'll watch cartoons and he'll cuddle up with Kanga.

When Eric isn't doing so well, we'll cuddle up too and I'll tell him how much I love him. If he's getting too lost in the memories of his life before, I'll put on some music and try to get him to sing along to the words to try to have him stay in the present, avoiding the painful memories.

J is rather hard to read, but when hes not well I'll try to hold his hand staying quiet, just being there so he knows I'm with him. If he's not irritated I'll kiss his head and maybe stroke his hair. That is if he's wanting my effections. Other times I'll let him watch Tom and Jerry and just sit there with him, letting him relax and laugh at the rediculous antics of the characters.

Did you or Owl ask the other out first? How did it go?

Mmm, don’t think that concept really exists in the hundred acre wood so much? They do care about each other a lot, and sometimes they like time alone where they can just sit together and maybe cuddle but I don’t see there being exactly any asking out officially or courting. It just sorta... happens, I suppose.

(Although, there’s probably a lil bit of light teasing from people like Kanga and Tigger towards Bat coz their feelings are quite obvious to everyone else but Owl himself hdgsjdb)

My review of the Scooby-Doo Team up (Justice League)

This delightful comic-book crossover, which merges the two worlds of the DC Super-hero team the Justice League and Hannah-Barbara’s classic Scooby-Doo (Mystery Inc. Gang), and they fit brilliantly together, was published as a collection of short stories. In each fun-filled adventure, the Mystery Inc. Gang meet certain heroes of the Justice League who have use of their mystery-solving skills and are requesting their help. Like a typical Scooby-Doo episode, there are so-called monsters which appear terrifying but always turn out to be a hoax.  Although they are very different teams, what they have in common is that they are crimefighters. They just have very different forms of crime-fighting. Also, though Mystery Inc. do not have superpowers, they are particularly good at seeing through illusions, since fake monsters are things they are used to. I think these two teams made a very good larger team, with Mystery Inc's detective skills and the Justice Leagues combat skills. Though it has been hard to say who was my favourite character, they all contributed so well to the story, I have decided on Wonder Woman. She is the hero I would be the most excited about seeing the Mystery Inc. Gang with. Though I am glad my favourite enemies of Batman, not only the main enemy Joker but Riddler and Penguin, got some spotlight, there was no sign of Green Lantern. It would also be exciting to see Mystery Inc. meeting the Green Lantern and if there was a special mission that the Galactic Green Lantern Brigade needed the help of Mystery Inc. for, what would that situation be?

There was an appearance of The Duke of Deception, a godling minion of Ares and enemy of wonder woman. He was the stupidest villain with the most clearly flawed plan. He WANTED the Mystery Inc. Gang to come to the Amazon island and purposely created illusions that would make the queen and the sisters seek their help. The idea was that Shaggy and Fred would be mortal men (male godlings don’t count)  who would cause the Warrior Women to lose their powers by setting foot on the island, but they only needed to stay up where their feet don’t touch the ground. The island had creatures called kangas that could be ridden like horses and Scooby didn’t count because he was a male dog, not a man. This also meant a crime-solving gang were there to foil his plans. Another much smarter plan was a grand theft diamond in Gotham.  Though it was still not good enough to outsmart Mystery Inc., Batman, Robin, & Batdog.  The use of Scarecrows fear gas, and having robbers dressed up as Man-Bat because he is a monster people are so scared of that they will give in to any demand and hand over anything, was smart. The enemies of Batman when they teamed up certainly had more brains, despite being insane, than that godling, anyway. 

When Scooby met Bat-Dog, I think they were the two characters who got on best with each other.  They did have a personality clash because Scooby was a cowardly dog and Bat-Dog was a brave dog, but Bat-Dog helped Scooby find some courage and I think Scooby had real respect for Bat-Dog.

I can’t think of particularly funny scenes (though they were fun, if not funny), but Shaggy provided some funny/witty lines such as ‘’or maybe we're just not real men!’’ - Context: when it was being explained that although Shaggy had fallen off his kanga he landed in a curled ball with his feet in the air, so the amazon warrior women still didn’t lose their powers. Though the big picture of Velma and Daphne in classical Greek  garb training with Wonder Woman was good art, the best art was the appearance of Batman and Robin standing atop a large street sign. Because Shaggy was trying to recognise and saying ‘’If this is Batman, is that robin?’’, Robin answers ‘’Well, it ain’t Jimmy Olsen!’’, referencing a character from Superman but he is only being referenced and not actually appearing in this comic.

I don’t think I would change anything about this comic, considering it is only the first in the series, so any heroes not showing may show in later editions. Having more hero appearances is the only thing I would change, except a Teen Titans story being in the style of the older series which is generally considered better among fans, but that also could happen in a later edition. Even though it was the style of the newer ‘’Teen Titans Go!’’ which is generally considered terrible compared to it’s predecessor, that story was actually good. As I mentioned before, Mystery Inc. lack powers, but are particularly good at seeing through illusions. However, I think their very best skill was catching and unmasking. The Justice League would probably see through illusions eventually, just not as quickly, but only Wonder Woman possesses the magic lassoe to catch an enemy and get the truth out of them about whether they are who they appear to be or are in disguise. The Justice League have skills that are mostly battle and combat-focused, fighting skills, but Mystery Inc. have hunter-like trap-setting skills. They are able to use their time to prepare traps, while the Justice League are engaged in the heat of battle and would not have time for trap-setting and they are not as experienced in trap-setting.
