So, we talk a lot about Quarry headcanons and what could have been on the Brainrot Discord server that Kat made and one of the things I keep thinking about is how they gave (at least some of) the characters these sets of skills that never really impact gameplay, and I think it would be really cool if they did. Like, if there was more variety in who could be sent on which path. Switching Kaitlyn to the Hackett house path with Laura and Ryan to the scrapyard with Dylan being a popular one for fanfic, but also, idk, maybe Dylan won't let Ryan go without him so he ends up on the Hackett house path too? Maybe Abi steps up to go with Kaitlyn to the scrapyard and has to figure out the crane even though it's way out of her skillset, maybe Emma and Jacob can actually come back and link up with the rest of the gang instead of being stuck out in the woods for so long, stuff like that.

I'm just thinking about what their skills might be and how that might impact the game. Also keep in mind that if the character you most need for a task ends up up dead before that task comes along, it's going to be carnage for everyone else, which would up the replay value significantly IMO.

Kaitlyn: Shooting. She's a MUCH better shot than Ryan, if we can believe the Shooting Stars scoreboard (four of the actual children attending the camp score higher than him), but we never see that in the game? What if the aiming mechanism was actually different between different characters? What if there were shots you could make more easily as Kaitlyn, that were harder to pull off as Ryan?

Ryan: Agility. Guy does a lot of running and jumping, what if there were timed segments that were easier to complete as Ryan within the allotted time, or else something consequential happened? Good luck if you ended up plodding along with Jacob instead, now Abi and Nick are both mauled and turning, or something like that.

Dylan: Tech. Dylan's the physics nerd who slays at the crane game. What if you could bring him to the Hackett house and he could figure out the electric circuit puzzle in no time, but that meant someone else had to help Kaitlyn in the scrapyard? Maybe Ryan can still save Jacob without him but he takes too much time and the Hacketts catch you and pick off one of your party.

Jacob: Strength. Jakey's probably the buffest of the dudes, so maybe there are times you need a pair of strong arms or legs and Jacob's the only one who can come through. They also show us him picking locks but he never does that in an impactful situation, so maybe he'd have a lesser talent for that as well.

Abi: Stealth. Okay, so Abi runs and hides? Maybe she's awesome at hiding, then? Maybe she can get through parts of the game undiscovered by the werewolves that other characters can't. Maybe her being short AF means she can fit into hiding spots that you can't cram the leggy bois like Dylan and Nick into.

Emma: Observation. Emma's always watching and analyzing everyone's behavior and documenting things on her phone. Maybe she can find evidence or tarot cards others can't, or put pieces of the mystery together in ways no one else thinks of. Emma's a badass in the game, but it would be cool to see her 'documentarian' side come in handy prior to the credits rolling, too.

Nick: Climbing. I completely made this up because we don't get to see Nick do much besides try to pull his crush, suck face on a dare with Emma, and get mauled, but we do know he takes kids through the ropes course based on his dialogue with Abi, plus he's tall so he's got long arms and legs! Maybe he's the aerial expert. Maybe he can scale fences and get important items down from trees. Maybe he can climb up and free other characters who get stuck in those snare traps. (Obviously this assumes someone else can be the Designated Werewolf Victim, which I also think would improve the game.)

This also assumes Laura and Max keep their current roles, but I'd be up for that to be changeable too. It's not that I necessarily want a higher number of choices available, I just want the choices we can make to actually impact the gameplay and story arc more! Anyway, that's my Quarry ramble for the day (unless I come up with another one). Anyone else have thoughts?

WIBTA for telling a guilt-tripper to knock it off?

I'm part of a Discord server for authors, both aspiring and published. We chat about life, discuss story ideas, share snippets, look for beta readers, give each other feedback on our query packages—the usual. We're from all over the world, so sometimes time zones don't match up, and inevitably there are members who are more active and, thus, get a bit more attention

There's this one user—let's call them Kat—who used to be fairly active and had decent interaction from other users. Around December, Kat shared a bit of their writing to a critique swap—basically a Google Drive where we could look over each other's stuff and provide feedback. They uploaded a bit late due to their schedule (GMT) and didn't get as much critique as they'd hoped, which made them a bit disheartened and they commented as much in the server. I can't blame them, since feeling ignored sucks, but I feel like complaining about it in the general channel (we have a dedicated vent channel) was a bit gauche.

Regardless, Kat continued to be active, albeit posting less frequently. Notably, most of their posting seems to be either responding to group prompts or talking about their own writing. Rarely do they respond to someone else's comments—or, hell, even replies to their own! I've seen people inquire more about stuff they've brought up, and then they just never respond. People do interact with them; they just don't interact back.

About a month ago, they messaged the server talking about recovering from illness and coming up with a story idea, asking for people to look over their first few pages. Two people responded with sympathy and interest; as far as I'm aware, Kat never got back to those people. Usually in interactions like this, someone asks for feedback, another person replies to tell them they're interested, the OP asks to DM, and the conversation goes there; Kat straight up left them hanging. After that, they only sent a few messages—a couple of replies to group prompts (those rarely have interaction from other users, though I've made an effort to react or reply to interesting responses, and I've seen a few others do the same), and another passive-aggressive comment about being ignored.

Tonight, Kat sent a message to the chat in the general channel (again, not #vent) that started with, "Whatever I've done or not done that's made me a social pariah in this group to people I thought were friends who now ignore my questions or posts, at least have a modicum of compassion and heart this message..." They then continued, talking about losing someone close to them. I do sincerely feel for them, but I can't bring myself to interact with that message in any way. Not even the heart they want. Worse, I'm entertaining the notion of telling them that while I am genuinely sorry for their loss, guilt-tripping people isn't an effective way to garner compression.

Why I WBTA: Literally they're grieving, that's such a shitty thing to do right now. Besides, they are right in that people haven't interacted with them as much ever since they asked for feedback on their work that one time. I doubt this will help anyone, let alone them.

Why I might be a JAH (I know for a fact there's no world where I'm NTA): Responses have dipped because they aren't posting as much, and moreover, since they rarely respond to people at all, it's likely that we've all learned that it's not worth it interacting with them. Besides, if I ignore them, they'll just keep guilt-tripping even more, which also isn't helpful to anyone. And again—we have a vent channel. Why they came into the place where we chitchat about our weekend plans vexes me somewhat.

I dunno. It's a very damned if I do, damned if I don't situation. WIBTA?

i apologise for the inconvenience caused however It was brought to my attention by someone in a ticket on discord that you may have further information and evidence upon someone called Kat , I wish to kindly ask for that information due to the fact I wish to keep the server safe from any possible harm caused especially to minors .

Well, you can go look at all my posts and look through that evidence for a start. The rest and all of my other evidence is on my phone, which is currently broken but should be fixed in a few days to a week. I can tell you in words what happened. I have the screenshots and downloads to back it all up, so if you DM me at all I'll send the screenshots and downloads that aren't posted when my phone Is fixed.

so back in July 2024 Kat and I got into a fight about the stuff she did to me like trying to get me to join porn servers for her, and talk to men that had blocked her, and it all came to a head when she put me in a group chat with a guy that said " hail, Hitler" and he was not joking, so I left and blocked that account instantly, and I got furious at her. We fought about all the porn stuff and the group chats, but I also talked to her about all the peer pressure she was doing like trying to make me, make her sexual AI bots so she could jack off to them, she would gaslight me constantly, and get mad when I would say no and she would say things like "SHOULD I JUST KILL MYSELF THEN HUH" which she is prone to do in any type of situation was it does not go her way or when she is caught or being threatened.

she has also called me a pedophile because she, at 18, was talking to a 14-year-old arab girl and she said the girl "sent pics" I asked her "like nudes" because I wanted to know for clarification and see if I needed to DM this girl and tell her sending nudes to people is not ok and it will not turn out good in the end, and kat caused me of being a pedo, and a few months before that she called me racist because I said "I don't like voice-overs" when we were talking about diabolik lovers and a specific creator, she thought I just did not like germans which is wrong, she also assumed I was white, I'm not, I'm native American, Dutch, Norwegian, French, Swedish, Irish, and native Panamanian, I have family that lives in all those places currently living, I have zero problems with germans, and I told her that.

after our argument, the day later I woke up to a DM from someone called Star and she said Kat sent her to talk to me about our fight, kat also does this, she sends other people, to talk to you, so she doesn't have to be an adult and face her own battles, at this time me and kat were both adults so it was an adult conversation and issue, but then star said she wanted to talk about things that kat did to her, like sending her porn links to try and get her into them, and try to force her to talk to men 30+ from the porn servers and also told star she was horny, Star said because of kats tendency to yell and gaslight people that she was scared to confront kat and say anything, so I sent one message to kat in a private dm and was about to send another when star said "yea, I just TURNED 14 THREE DAYS AGO" and that's when I lost it, I went into a group chat that had me kat and about three other people excluding star In it and publicly confronted her, and she denyed it and lied, sent the screenshots, sent a screen record, and then someone else from the groupchat Rose, sent a Dm and said kat was doing the same thing.

I was going to post stars screenshots and things when my phone broke, still will when it's fixed, so those aren't up yet.

this one was different though because Kat told me about a sexual dream she had about Rose three days earlier and made me believe Rose was 18 when she was 17 when Rose told me, I sent her the screenshots of the dream, Rose confronted Kat, and Kat lied so many times it's not even funny, that's how the main of us so the first 3 knew she was trying to cover her ass through lies.

we all blocked her after that, but then the other DMs started coming. Kat was sending person after person to talk to us and a few of the victims blamed Rose and Star, saying stuff like "You acting like you 14 grow up" That was Storm, Rose accepted his request, and he said that to her, star didn't accept any, I stopped accepting them after it got to over 20 in less than an hour. By then I had already posted the screenshots from Star and Rose, but Kat and her friends got it taken down a few months later, when I kept getting more and more people, mostly completely anonymous sharing what she did to them, and it wasn't just girls, it was guys too.

the people who told me stories and screenshots asked me not to show anyone or go into detail or anything so I won't, but there are 15 of them, so in total we have about 22 of us, and defiantly more because some defiantly ain't come forward or speak, but about a week ago all of the anons, gave me consent to make a post and talk about the aftermath and shock of what kat was the main cause from.

I already made a post talking about it you can go see that, this will be blunt, about 2 weeks after the first anon talked to me, they sent me a message on how they tried to kill themselves because of Kat, I won't share what they did or how, but it was bad, and they luckily called someone to help them and they were in the hospital recovering and then they went on to therapy after to get help, they were the first. the other 14 did it as well, throughout months until just a few weeks ago, I kept getting messages and photos and things like that, of them all, saying that it was Kat's fault and this entire situation, all AT THE MOMENT December 11t,h 2024, are all alive, some are in mental institutions trying to get better and recover after about 4 made a second attempt, others are in therapy and slowly getting better.

as this was all going on we kept having more people asking about Kat, and I trying to get it out there so kids could be safe, I found out Kat was lying, saying things that were not true, or leaving out parts of things, like all of this being started because she tried to get a then 13 year old groomed. but later on or a few months ago I got a Dm from Via who is 13, but she was 12, she DMd me because her 11-year-old friend got a dm from Kat asking to roleplay, kat only does sexual roleplays, live in her servers with people or bots, I have a few of those, its disturbing, ill post them when my phone is fixed.

the kid showed via who started talking to Kat, and Kat sent her porn. Kat spent a 12-year-old at almost 19 porn, which kickstarted all this again because Via went to some of kats friends and asked for help most said things like "she didn't mean it with any ill intent" and "she doesn't know any better" "she didn't mean to" all of which are bullshit. Via tried to post them on the Kats server, to which she was threatened by Kats ride-or-die friends like Sayo.

most of Kat's friends have all blocked her and realized that she was lying to them so she has very few friends now, but some are still there, Kat also is not disabled in any way mentally, she expressed she had ADHD, I have it too, but that is NOT a disability, it's not classified as one, I suspect she could also have autism, which if she did, she is a high functioning one, and dose know right from wrong, she has expressed to me multiple times before I blocked her and admitted that what she did was wrong and she knows it, she admitted it to multiple people.

Via then expressed to Kat that when she DMd her that she did not like sexual things, at all, to which Kat ignored, and Via said it more than once to things, the porn got sent, no one helped Via, and she had no idea who I was so when someone said to go back to me and stop adding to it, she asked who I was, and that's how she DMd me.

and by then I had already made reports and called up the authorities for Rose and Star, so I did it for via, and I made 3 separate ones for her because more things kept happening, like Kat saying the N-word in her server for everyone to see, and her lying and sending more sexual stuff to people. Kat messaged Via a few days ago saying how all of this was draining her mental health, to which Via, with my consent, sent her a screenshot of me talking about how people had tried to kill themselves because of her, it was a lot more detail than my post, which is already dark enough so I won't post those.

the cops have reached out, they are currently doing something about it, I just hope that the Louisiana department reaches out so I can send them more of my evidence. Not all of this happened on Discord, most of it was on Tumblr.

for anyone else wanting to get more info and things like that your open to sending me a dm or asking anonymously or not, all I want to do is make sure Kat or Katherine Irene Thibodeaux gets the jail time she deserves.

10. a blog (mutual or one you follow) that has made your fandom experience brighter: literally every single one of you. every! single! one! but if i had to shout someone specific out it would be @gardenerian and @iansfreckles, for everything they've given me over the last few years. they'll know what i mean 💛

18. a fandom tag that you track: i actually don't track any fandom tags! is that surprising? i check the "shameless" tag sometimes to see what y'all are up to but that's about it! i might start tracking the #chappell roan tag tho bc i'm starting to be really active in that fandom. is that a fandom? it is, right? idk, i just adore her!

25. a piece of advice for taking care of yourself in fandom space: oh GOOD GOD i have so many pieces of advice for this. first, use the block button. i am not kidding. the worst thing someone can do, like the ABSOLUTE worst thing that will happen, is someone making a passive aggressive callout post about you on their page. which like, is not that bad. it's happened to me and i'm still here and kicking! second, enter every situation with zero expectations whatsoever. every interaction, every post, every piece of art you share. expect absolutely nothing to happen so that when things do happen, it's an even bigger joy. i never expect anything i post to get any traction so when it happens, it's even better than it would be if i was jonesing for notes! third, find your people. it can be one person or ten people or thirty, but find them. put yourself out there and be unapologetically YOU and the right people will gravitate. then make a group chat, a discord server, etc. and talk! talk talk talk! all the time! about fandom stuff and non-fandom stuff. share things about your life, bitch and moan, just generally engage as much as you can. i do it and it's glorious. fourth, don't feel like you need to be constantly logged in. if you're worried about not being active but your mental health is suffering, set up a queue and take a step back. do not be afraid to be inactive though, because ultimately fandom should be fun and the second it stops being fun, you HAVE to step back and take care of yourself first. engage in other non-fandom hobbies in the meantime, and if you're like me and you didn't have any when the fixation broke and your life was in shambles, find one! it will be the best form of catharsis and help bring things back into perspective. lastly, remember that IT IS NOT THAT SERIOUS. don't participate in infighting. don't make callout posts or vaguepost about stuff because it will only make things worse. rise above it. if you wanna bitch, bitch to your friends in private and be kind and courteous in public. it will save your skin and your sanity. Following up on my Lost Records Bloom & Rage Mariomon teams, here's everyone's favorite little hellraiser & witchcraft extraordinaire, Kat Mikaelsen!!

Kat's niche is pretty obvious to me at a glance: creepy & occult stuff. Dark, Ghost, Psychic feel like natural fits for her. Of course, you noticed the outlier. We'll get back to it in a moment.

Broozer is her ace. A ghost with attitude that will barrel into you feels very Kat-coded to me.

Dry Bones is just a pretty typical macabre pick. I think she'd be fascinated by it idk!

GOOMBA. Okay so it's a small but scrappy creature. That's literally just Kat. I think it could end up being her starter! Like with Gertie in Lost Records, Kat might discover the goomba when it was injured, and then bonds with it. It could even evolve into its Goomba Stack evolution as part of a mirror to Kat's character arc of learning to trust her friends. In the same way that the Goomba Stack leans on other Goombas to be stronger than the sum of its parts. I may or may not name the Goomba "Goombertie". That will be up to fate.

Phanto is a creepy sentient mask. Also, could fit how Kat wears a mask around others. Just feels like a natural fit for her.

Mr. I is another creepy unsettling pick, plus it matches the eye motifs that show up all over the cabin & forest that the group end up exploring.

Swoop is my attempt at a close approximation of Kat's raven motif, given the lack of fitting ominous birds in the Mariomon roster (Klepto is the closest fit but ehhhh it's not really a good "raven" replacement to me). If we had Crowber from NSMB DS in Mariomon, it would be an instant shoo-in. As it stands, a bat is a suitable replacement for a raven I guess.

I was able to finish the cards for Nora and Autumn after all, but I'll post about them tomorrow, otherwise I'll stay up way later than I'd like 😭
