We are opening up our discord server to non-members, so our writing community can grow. We will be your writing family when the world gets too loud.

You will join a safe writing community where you can just chit-chat, bounce ideas off of one another, share and discuss your writing and art, and ramble as much as you want about your WIP. If you want, you can also stream your favourite writing music or stream yourself writing in real time. You can also help us come up with fun writing prompts and challenges, give us feedback, and suggest changes.

Fun things to do on Discord

Every second Sunday of the month, we host a live reading session on our Discord server, giving you a safe space to read your writing and get encouraging feedback. Every fourth Sunday of the month, we host a live writing session where you can sprint against fellow writers and stream your writing. Every Thursday, you can share your writing progress in our writer's club and chat with fellow writers.

Thanks to some helpful writing bots you can keep track of your WIPs, organize writing sprints and become inspired to write. Our self-programmed bot keeps track of our orders (posts tagged #writeblrcafe) so you also have early access to all posts by talented writers before they are reblogged to our blog.

Well, despite us being nearly 350+ members, most of us are split between several time zones. We prioritize healthy interactions, so it isn't like a sudden onslaught of self-promos between writers — no posting and dipping.

Most of our community members have known each other for several years now, and we really do care about building genuine friendships. If you interact with the prompts, chat revives, or even in casual conversation, it is very easy to bond with people here. That being said, staff is always here to help you with acclimating.

Well, my dear dear Tumblr user, our writing community is diverse, from poets to original authors to fanfiction writers of all genres! And our range of skill levels is just as wide. We have people just stepping foot into the writing scene to folks who've been stuck in the paragraphs for centuries. We chat about our stories, share our work, brainstorm, proofread, and do prompts and sprints. However, I would like to make it clear that our server is more of a writing community, so it isn't as writing-focused as other writing servers out there. I'd say it's 60% fun shenanigans and 40% writing-related. Aside from the writing akin, there's plenty of fandom talk, artwork sharing, fun as hell VCs, movie nights, and speechless music bot VCs if you're feeling extra introverted. /pos

Hanami Matsuri, Genshin Edition (Updated 3/4/25)

Inazuma's Sakura trees are in full bloom and we are visiting! There's more than enough to do with all sorts of activities, it seems... where do you wanna go first? Hi! We are a Genshin Impact roleplaying server and we're holding a spring event! In this writing event, we are visiting the beautiful Inazuma where a handful of festival activities have been organised. Take this moment to interact with people you have never seen before and celebrate the new spring! (Read: characters who have never interacted in canon, can find each other here and start a friendship 🙂) There's something to do for everyone! Aside from the general areas where one can dilly dally and enjoy some leisurely time off, or get your adrenaline pumping in one of the many tournaments that will be hosted! There are a few simple rules.

Please follow all the rules that are listed in the discord server, first and foremost.

The event will run until May 20th.

Our server has a word minimum of 100 words to avoid one liners and give your writing partners something to work with.

There has been a word MAXIMUM installed for this event. Please try to remain around the 300 words max. A couple words over is no biggie, but we wanna avoid having whole bookworks to read in order to keep the pace quick.

Are you a writer, or looking to become one? Well oh boy, Funky Introverted Writers Server might be the one for you! We’re a community-based group of writers(and non-writers) that’s over a year old now!

We’re majorly LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent, so if you write about similar themes, you’ll find friends here. Well, you’ll find friends either way, but you get the point. 

Note: you must be 15-28 years old to join.

We’re also very disability friendly! I myself have chronic pain, another admin is hard of hearing, and several of our members have physical or mental disabilities themselves. It’s not a topic we shy away from.

We have Pluralkit and believe that all systems are valid! *If you identify as a system, you will not be pressured into using the bot or outing yourself. 

We have movie nights and read-aloud nights where we practice presenting. You could read your own work, you could read from a book, you could read from a fic. We end up mostly reading children's books. It’s tons of fun.

On a more personal note, this server has done a lot for me. I’ve connected with two of my best friends through it, I’ve met other really good people, and I’ve just generally learned and grown. I genuinely don’t think I would be a writer if I hadn’t found this server. And I write a LOT now, haha. 

I presented a poem of mine during one of the read-aloud nights. I was terrified. I didn’t expect much positive feedback, if any, but that’s exactly what I got. They gave me the confidence to read the poem to my parents. Which is important, because it was something they really needed to hear. 

Anyway. This server is my safe space. I would love to share it with you.

Sure! In our server we have bots like Sprinto to help writers overcome writer's block and to help them get things done. We also have helpful staff who are willing to go the extra mile to answer your questions, resolve any problems for you, or make sure you’re included! And finally, we have what we like to call fandom spaces.

Well, what are these ‘fandom spaces’?

I’m glad you asked! Fandom spaces are channels in our server specific to fans of a media where they can share fics, ideas, headcanons, gifs, rambles— well, really anything.

See how little we have? We’re hoping YOU can change that! Fandom spaces are available on request to be added to the category, and we’d love if you joined with some of your fellow fans so we can create one for you :)

Hmmm… well, the fandom spaces and the community are sort of our center pieces, but— we have 18+ rooms available for adult members (NSFW chats and proship chats, the roles to access these are available upon request!) to share general things or to promote their writing! We also have solid rules designed to help things stay civil in our server and to protect writers against evil AI… and these rules are open to suggestions! We have a wonderful team of staff who are open to any proposed rules you think would make the server better, but not just rules! We have tickets you can open for any kind of feedback, concerns, or suggestions you have for our server :)

Ohhh, I see now! Well, I'm here to inform you that we’re playing with the idea of doing various writing or prompt based (so our artist friends can join in) events! This helps our writers get more out there as part of a collective masterlist and gain more recognition when these masterlists roll out! Currently, server staff are thinking about both a May event and a summer (June through July or August) event!
