hidden behind lines | prologue
masterlist
Tumblr media
toge inumaki sat in his darkened room, the faint glow of his laptop illuminating his face. his fingers hovered over the keyboard as he stared at the blank screen in front of him. the familiar weight of silence pressed down on him, heavier than usual. it wasn’t that he didn’t have anything to say—he had plenty. but with his cursed speech, expressing anything felt dangerous. too risky. too isolating.
he sighed, glancing at the rice ball wrapper on his desk. “salmon,” he muttered to no one in particular, his voice barely above a whisper. the room stayed quiet, and the empty words hung in the air, meaningless. toge had gotten used to this emptiness—his world of muted conversations and half-finished thoughts. but tonight, the frustration bubbled over.
he clicked open a browser and typed twitter dot com. he hesitated for a moment, his fingers twitching slightly before he began typing again. “hiddenverse”, he entered into the username field. with a quick tap, the account was created.
for the first time in a while, toge felt like he could breathe.
he stared at the empty profile, considering what to write. no one knew him here, no one knew about his cursed speech or the danger that came with his words. here, he was just a stranger behind a screen. with newfound determination, toge began typing—a simple line of poetry, raw and honest, poured from his mind onto the page. it was something he’d never been able to say out loud, a feeling that had lived inside him for too long.
he hit post.
days passed, and his small following began to grow. among the notifications, one commenter kept returning, leaving thoughtful replies that struck a chord in him. toge found himself looking forward to their messages, curious about the connection forming in the anonymity of his online world.
yet with every post, a question lingered in the back of his mind: how long could he hide behind these words? and when the time came, would he dare to step out from the shadows?

YOU SPEAK JAPANESE AND CHINESE?!?! OMG THATS SO COOL CHINESE IS SO HARD WITH SO MANY CHARACTERS EVEN BEING ABLE TO SPEAK A LITTLE BIT IS A TALENT
Personally, I feel like learning not Japanese and Chinese is hard because there’s similar characters (ig that makes it easier) but there’s some distinct difference and it’s so hard to remember which is which
also can you share tips on learning othe rlamguages? If you want to, of course<3
HAHAHSAH YES I DO!!! im chinese so i already know the lang by heart, but as for japanese, i had to stop learning for a while due to tuition fee restrictions. i can’t really afford online textbooks or tutors anym either, so my advice might not be the best. 😭
ADVICE UTC!
but yes i get what you mean by the confusion!! since jp borrowed a lot of cn characters aka kanji, some words look the same but have totally different meanings or pronunciations, as a native cn speaker it tilted me sm at first (tbh, still does LOL)
first you need to know abt kunyomi (jp vers of pronounciation) and onyomi (the original cn pronunciation), you can skim thru this website for a better understanding, and the rest is js memorization thru familiarity.
and sure, maybe, usually, if you're familiar with cn, you can somewhat guess the meaning of kanji.
i.e. 行程 in jp n cn both means distance / journey, but r pronounced differently (jp: こうてい and cn: xíngchéng)
OR
a more common example, 水 (jp: みず / cn: shuǐ) diff pronunciations but both means water.
ON THE OTHER HAND,
手紙 in jp means letter, but in cn it means toilet paper (lmaoo)
i guess its all based on context!! the more u read = the easier it becomes to recognize when to use which reading!
NOW FOR TIPS...
id say find a media you genuinely enjoy and immerse yourself in it.
passion for the language makes the learning process much more enjoyable (and less of a chore). for example, in hsr i switch my game lang to jp 2 help me get used to the tone. another great idea is to try reading jp visual novels as it helps w conversational japanese. basically, the more exposure you get to the language in a fun n engaging way, the more naturally you'll start picking up vocabulary, sentence structures, and pronunciation!
2ndly, practice makes perfect. just 5-10mins/day will do, i strongly recommend this guide n this practice website + ANKI DECKS!!! js rmbr, short, daily practice >> long cram sessions. have a dictionary + textbook, u can find many good ones online, if not, reddit is ur next best choice (r/learnjapanese)
ALSO, before diving into kanji, make sure you’re comfortable with hiragana n katakana first, they're pretty much the foundation of reading n writing in jp!!
-
AS FOR CHINESE: disclaimer, as a native, i have never truly "learnt" chinese from the basics b4; but here r some tips i often give my non-native irls that helps
get to know hanyu pinyin first (aka romanized cn) this helps u to look up words more easily on your device n pronounce them correctly.
in cn, there's this thing called 翘舌音, which refers to retroflex sounds. (e.g. the way u wld pronounce "sha" and "sa" is diff) this big difference in pronunciation changes the meaning of the word.
找 (zhǎo) = look for 早 (zǎo) = early / morning
2. learn the tones. like retroflex sounds, tones can completely change the meaning of the word too.
mā (妈) = mom má (麻) = hemp mǎ (马) = horse mà (骂) = scold
can't tell the difference and don't have a native speaker around u? USE GOOGLE TRANSLATE. simply copy paste the word / phrase u wanna hear n press the listen button n it'll read it out for u (unf if u tl longer sentences, it may sound robotic, well because.. it is a robot.)
3. chinese has many homophones, so you can’t just rely on pinyin, you need to listen + read to understand words in context.
i.e. 给予 where 给 is usually pronounced gěi, but in this context, 给 is pronounced as jǐ
PRO TIP: if u have a cn keyboard, it'll usually tell u the correct pronunciation
Tumblr media
no.2 in brackets, it auto detects what i should've typed instead!!
4. likewise in jp n other langs, consuming cn media will greatly help in ur learning progress + PRACTICE!!
5. just like how in english we don’t go around saying things like “whom do you wish to speak with?” in daily conversation; in chinese, people don’t use overly formal textbook phrases either.
textbooks teach polite and grammatically correct chinese, but if you want to sound natural, it’s better to learn how native speakers actually talk —either through dramas, social media, or getting used to it js by changing ur in-game lang to cn.
last but not least, have fun!! if you force urself to memorize endless vocabulary lists or study only through textbooks, you’ll burn out fast. SO TAKE A BREAK IF U HAVE TO, AND ENJOY THE PROCESS ^^

The dragon who conquered the sky IV
You hadn't been able to sleep properly for three nights. Every time your eyes closed, the same image repeated itself over and over again.
A ghostly figure appeared in your dream, threatening to destroy everything that was important to you.
During those three days, you woke up breathing heavily and with your heart racing as if you had run a marathon.
The sensation was there, fresh and almost palpable, real enough to make you sweat and keep all your senses on high alert.
Perhaps it was the lack of sleep that caused you to hallucinate, although there was also the possibility that it was a warning given through your dreams. In any case, it was negatively affecting your concentration.
During lunch, you had dropped a glass because it slipped out of your hands, and you even argued with Ryeowook over something that wasn't really that important.
Everyone seemed annoyed with you, and you were annoyed with everyone.
The fourth day arrived, and with it came the problems.
"Can you pass me the salt shaker, please?" Ryeowook asked as he stretched his arm out in a poor attempt to reach it.
"Wouldn't it be easier if you used your powers to attract it?" you muttered before putting the chopsticks with food into your mouth.
"Why is Siwon's power to tell the truth and not to force you to shut up?"
"If that were the case, he would have already used his power on you," you replied, tired of continuing the discussion that had been going on for days.
The table fell silent after your hostile comment.
The group dynamic had been like this ever since you finished that mission with Yesung.
You argued with Ryeowook, received Kyuhyun's scathing comments, endured Heechul's constant teasing, and obeyed Leeteuk's words.
Spending so much time with nine people was mentally exhausting.
You had a solo career, a lonely life away from the only family you had left. You couldn't even remember when you last saw your mother.
It was time to say goodbye, to leave the team behind and be yourself again, to relax your mind.
Without saying a word, you got up from your chair and took your plate and chopsticks to the dishwasher.
The three people sitting with you just watched your movements without adding any comments. The atmosphere in the dining room had become tense and hostile because of the argument.
"Don't you think you went too far?" Donghae asked to Ryeowook.
"She's been looking for a fight since she came back from her mission. She's the one with the temper problem," he replied heatedly.
"If Yesung were here, she would surely watch her words," Eunhyuk whispered carefully.
He didn't trust you when he saw you walk out the door. Nothing assured him that you weren't behind it listening to the conversation.
The truth is that everyone there was a little afraid of you and had too much respect for you.
Yesung had told them what had happened, placing greater emphasis on the fact that you knew some kind of spell capable of driving away demons.
Just imagining what the singer was describing in detail made their skin crawl.
But Donghae's nature was quite contradictory. He was afraid, of course he felt it deeply, but his curiosity had led him to watch you secretly.
He had noticed certain quirks typical of your artistic career, such as the way you wiggled your fingers in the air pretending to play a keyboard.
He had also discovered that you often talked to yourself, sometimes thinking that the comments stayed in your mind and other times reciting lines from songs that didn't yet exist.
You were a strange person, someone whose personality fit perfectly with Yesung's peculiar way of being.
When you reached your room, you stifled a cry of frustration into your pillow, hoping the sound wouldn't travel too far.
Feeling that your frustration had not evaporated with that shout, you reached out to grab your old-worn acoustic guitar. The familiar shape of the musical instrument found its place in your hands.
Your right hand held the neck while your left hand strummed the strings, producing soft sounds to tune it.
You had always been good at turning your negative feelings into beautiful songs. Melodies and complete lyrics had been created thanks to all that emotional baggage struggling to escape from within you.
The first chord flowed naturally, as it always did.
You took a blank sheet of paper from the small desk, tucked the pen behind your ear, and focused on your new self-imposed task.
If you managed to create a song, you would then confront Lee Soo Man, knowing that you were ready to return to the stage once the mission was completely over.
Focusing your anger on songwriting was paying off. The notes fit together one after another, shaping a new song.
The chords of your guitar were audible throughout the floor where the multiple rooms were located.
Donghae heard the melody perfectly and couldn't help but tap his foot to the rhythm of your creation.
He understood better than anyone how complex it was to create music from a blank page.
Overcome with curiosity, Donghae approached your room with no intention of interrupting but with the desire to continue listening. Then the murmur of your voice reached his ears. They were words that reflected sadness, anguish, and perhaps regret.
Your singing stopped abruptly and was replaced by laughter and the subsequent sound of objects falling to the floor.
You had completely forgotten that you had the lyrics to a song without a melody lying around. The words you had written were good, the message was moving, and they would surely fit the rhythm of what you had just created.
Perhaps the lyrics would need some adjustments due to the rhythm, but you knew they would be perfect. You just needed to tweak them a little before showing them to―
Your hands stopped their frantic search as soon as Yesung's name popped into your mind. Your fingers tightened around the spine of a forest-green hardcover book.
Distractedly, you pulled it out and drummed your fingers on its cover, imitating the sound of a horse's hooves galloping.
It was the first time that someone other than your manager had crossed your mind with the intention of showing them a song.
You shook your head to get rid of the strange feeling that thought had given you and turned your attention back to the book in your hands.
The green cover with gold lettering caught your eye. That book was the one you had taken from home when you decided to set out on your path to stardom.
It was an old book that belonged to your mother, one you had absentmindedly leafed through to kill time in the practice room when you were a trainee.
Your fingers traced the symbols on the cover before opening it again to a random page.
The paper felt rough under your fingers, and the old smell reached your nose without you even being close to the pages. It was undoubtedly a relic.
Finally you paid attention to the text and immediately remembered why you had brought it on your trip, why you had kept it and why you had kept it out of sight of others.
The pages contained the various spells, movements, and battle techniques that your mother had collected over time. The small notes at the bottom of the pages and in the corners showed how difficult it had been to perfect each one.
You turned the page again, and what you were looking for slipped out from inside. A sheet of paper with a gold edge fell to the floor, right in front of you.
The paper was scribbled with the lyrics you remembered writing in a moment of deep inspiration. The haste with which the characters had been written betrayed the agitation of the moment.
You picked up the sheet from the floor and closed the book before taking it to your bed. You would take a look at it before putting it back inside your guitar case.
But first things first. The lyrics couldn't wait any longer, so you picked up your guitar again, placed the sheet with the lyrics on your mattress, and began the composition process anew.
After two practices, a lot of corrections and a final rehearsal, the song was ready. You picked up the sheet with the lyrics and folded it so you could put it in your pants pocket.
Your fingers gripped the guitar before you took a deep breath to calm your racing heart.
You would go find Yesung and let him be the first to hear your creation. After all, he seemed to be very serious when it came to musical composition.
With a steady gait, you left the room, coming face to face with a confused and upset Donghae.
"Do you know where Yesung is?" you asked, feigning indifference.
"He's on top of the building," he replied carefully.
He found it incredible that you didn't ask what he was doing there or simply order him to stay away from your room. For some reason, it seemed that you cared more about finding his teammate than peppering him with questions.
In your rush to show off your new creation, you forgot about the mess of sheets and pillows that was your bed. But Donghae couldn't help but pay attention to it.
When you finally stepped aside to run down the hallway, Donghae entered your bedroom and put his hands on that strange printed copy.
The Chinese characters lined up in his mind and transformed into authentic Korean writing thanks to his skillful handling of his abilities.
His power to understand different languages finally found another good use, that of snooping through a suspicious book to solve a mystery he didn't know he had to solve.
Curiosity wasn't always bad or childish; it had often led him to discover great things that many overlooked.
Unable to contain his enthusiasm, he opened the book and focused his eyes to interpret the writing.
"Spell to attract lightning," he whispered to himself. "On a mound of earth, light a fire by striking two river stones together, and with a three-part whistle, summon a water dragon."
Donghae stopped whispering and continued reading silently, trying to process all this new information that didn't seem to make any sense.
Without taking the time to read the text a second time, he closed the book, took it in his hands and ran to the dining room where he had left Ryeowook and Eunhyuk alone.
He needed to communicate this before you came back to look for the mysterious book.
Tumblr media
The wind blew your hair as you opened the door leading to the roof of the building. The chirping of birds and the squeaking of tires on the asphalt greeted you as you stepped outside.
The air was not fresh at all; on the contrary, it was laden with a hint of pollution and the aroma of fried street food.
You took a couple more steps and closed the door once you were completely outside. The sound alerted Yesung to your presence, but the idol did not flinch.
Your gaze finally located him.
He had his arms resting on the safety railing that prevented people from falling off the ledge. His posture was relaxed. His shoulders were slightly hunched, his legs crossed, and his head bowed.
His breathing was also calm, and as you got closer, you could see that his eyes were closed.
This was one of the few times you had seen him relaxed, without the tension of missions, without his senses on alert waiting for an imminent attack from an enemy.
In that place and at that moment, he was just Yesung. The idol who isolated himself in search of a little physical and mental peace.
"Am I interrupting something?" you asked, making your presence known.
Another gust of wind blew your hair and did the same to the singer's soft hair as he remained absorbed in his thoughts.
"Nothing important," he replied in a deep voice due to fatigue and dryness in his throat. "Do you need anything?"
Silence fell between you once again. The atmosphere had changed, and both seemed to have noticed it.
"I was looking for your help with something."
You didn't understand why it was so difficult to tell him that you wanted his opinion on your song. Saying the words shouldn't be difficult; after all, it was a favor between colleagues, something that was common among songwriters.
What wasn't normal was the rapid rise and fall of your chest as you breathed, nor was the pounding of your heart against your ribs.
All those feelings were new, not because you hadn't felt them before, but because they were triggered by the mere image of Yesung looking directly into your eyes as if trying to discover something in them.
Finally, you took a couple more steps forward and gently rested the guitar on the tip of your shoe so as not to damage the lacquered wooden surface.
"What's it about?"
The sudden change in dynamics seemed most entertaining to the singer.
You had never been shy before, you had never been so careful with your words when addressing him, and you had certainly never looked at him with such strangeness reflected on your face.
You sighed before taking another few steps toward him to close the distance between you. The wind blew fiercely, causing the idol to move from his spot and take a couple more steps toward you.
"I wrote a new song and, well, I thought you were the right person to hear it," you finally replied.
You wanted to blame Siwon's power which still hung over you like a curse, but the truth was that all those words had been spoken because you wanted them to be.
"Will I get the scoop?" The idol raised an eyebrow and smiled with anticipatory satisfaction.
"Of course. You're the first."
Yesung brought a hand to his chest, closed his eyes and sighed exaggeratedly.
"You flatter me."
"Don't exaggerate."
"I wouldn't dare."
Without wasting any more time, you crouched down and sat on the floor, placing the guitar on your lap to make the task easier.
Yesung imitated you and stood in front of you, blocking the sunlight from your eyes as you adjusted your grip on the arm of your instrument.
Before you began to play, you reached into your pants pocket and pulled out the sheet containing the lyrics to your creation.
"Could you hold this sheet here?" you asked, placing the paper at the desired height.
Yesung nodded and assisted you with the requested task.
Three of your fingers gently pressed the strings, and your free hand moved over them to produce a note.
You didn't feel ready to give your first performance for the one-person audience accompanying you, but you weren't a coward. You wouldn't back down, even if you were nervous to death.
You took a deep breath to calm your heartbeat, and as you exhaled, the wind carried away all the doubts and insecurities that had arisen within you.
Your fingers slowly shaped the melody, and your voice enunciated each phrase with mastery, demonstrating the skill of someone who had spent a lifetime on stage.
The vibrato in your voice, together with the melancholic sounds of the guitar, gave the song a nostalgic touch. Your song.
For Yesung, it was strange to hear your voice in a ballad instead of a rock song. The calm music didn't fit with the image of the tough woman you had created in the collective perception.
When your performance came to an end, Yesung applauded and imitated an audience excited by your song.
"So, what do you think?" you asked enthusiastically.
The anticipation was so great that your heart began to race and cold sweat appeared on the palms of your hands.
"You know it's a masterpiece. Kyuhyun will envy that ballad as soon as it comes out. Have you thought about your audience? I bet no one expects to see your comeback with such a moving ballad."
"Do you really think so?"
"I can't lie to you, remember?"
A scream of enthusiasm escaped your throat as you raised your arms above your head, stretching as if you could touch the clear sky.
Your chest swelled with pride and your laughter was filled with satisfaction. It was a relief that the song had been well received by someone whose opinion mattered to you.
"Do you think there would be any problem if I used the agency's recording studio? You know, Soo Man forbade us from being active, but the mission is almost over and I feel like I need to record this right now," you explained as you got up from the floor using only the strength of your legs so as not to damage your guitar.
Yesung shook your hand to help you up, and you accepted his kind gesture with gratitude.
"You could ask Donghae for help with that; he's the one who knows that studio inside out," he suggested as he stepped aside to let you walk toward the door you had come in through.
The pleasant experience on the roof had you excited as you chatted amiably with the vocalist.
Yesung found it curious how you had changed around him. At first, he had found you sullen and impulsive, but the more he observed you and understood your temperament, the softer you became.
It wasn't that you were impulsive and grumpy; it was that you really felt everything and felt it deeply. That was what you were really protecting. It wasn't a weakness, but something you had learned to use to your advantage.
The courage you showed wasn't fueled by anger, but rather obtained through the range of emotions that your sensitivity made you experience.
Yesung opened the door to Donghae's bedroom without even warning him of his arrival, and what he found there took him by surprise, forcing him to return his mind to the mission he had been assigned.
The remaining eight members were gathered there, all with indecipherable expressions ranging from indignation to disbelief.
Kyuhyun was the first to notice you, then turned his gaze to Yesung.
"What are you doing here?" Yesung asked casually but with a stiff posture.
"We're unraveling a great mystery surrounding an even more mysterious book. It's about dark spells and an interesting ancient story," Leeteuk replied distantly.
Your gaze scanned the entire room until you finally spotted your mother's book in Donghae's hands.
You quickly crossed the room with the intention of retrieving what belonged to you, but then Donghae stood up and threw the book toward Ryeowook, who pulled it into his hands with his power.
In circumstances like those, you hated that Lee Soo Man hadn't taken their powers away instead of yours.
Playing along, you moved toward Ryeowook, but then he threw the book back at Eunhyuk, who with a quick movement of his hands made it disappear in front of everyone's eyes.
"Where is it?" you demanded, not realizing that the members of the group were surrounding you.
You had ended up exactly as they had planned, and now you regretted every single thing that had led you to that moment.
Resignation came to you faster than expected. Feeling that it was impossible to keep stalling for time to give explanations, you sat down on the floor and ran a hand over your face in a gesture that expressed your weariness.
"What do you want to know so you'll give me back that book?" you asked, looking at each of them.
Little by little, you regained your composure and hid your emotions behind the anger with which you faced situations that seemed complicated to you.
You didn't know how to do it any other way. Avoiding confrontation had never been an option, and it wouldn't be one now.
"I think you're overreacting," Yesung interjected in an attempt to mediate between you and the other members of his group.
"You should read this before you even complain," Eunhyuk replied.
The dancer snapped his fingers and the book materialized in front of Yesung, falling noisily to the floor.
The vocalist bent down and picked it up, immediately feeling the embossed surface of the book.
"Are you surprised that she have a book in Chinese? She was born and raised here―
"That's not the point," Leeteuk interrupted impatiently. "Just look inside."
As soon as Yesung opened the book at random, you closed your eyes to avoid seeing his reaction.
The atmosphere in the room changed; suddenly the air seemed thick and the mood too serious. Something unusual for the group.
The idol's eyes scanned every stroke, every sentence, and analyzed every illustration on that page, which was scribbled all over with no blank space left.
The singer didn't understand the language but he could get an idea of what it was about thanks to the drawings rendered with ink and precision.
The memory of the dagger, the demon and the strange words you recited in front of your weapon came to his mind.
Nothing he was thinking made sense; his imagination was traveling to unexplored places, creating ideas that perhaps had little to do with the truth behind the book.
"What is all this?" he finally asked.
The question was like a punch to the gut, and it hurt like one.
His tone of voice was not the same as when he had been talking to you before. No, this time the kindness had vanished, giving way to uncertainty and demand.
You were cornered. The nine people had powers, they knew each other perfectly and they were used to working together. They could almost communicate with just looks and facial expressions.
You raised your hands in surrender and then lifted your chin slightly with haughtiness.
If they were going to judge you, they would have to face the worst of your personalities. You weren't going to make their task any easier.
"Before I answer your questions, there is something I must request," you said with the same seriousness with which they were taking the situation.
"We're listening."
"You don't know how much I missed your kindness, Ryeowook," was your instant response. "None of you will use your powers. No attracting objects, reading minds, extracting truths, making things vanish into thin air, bringing strange electronic objects, inducing emotions in others or speaking in languages unknown to the rest of us. Nothing at all. We will have this conversation free of any supernatural powers or extrasensory abilities."
The moment your words were heard, silence fell upon the room. The atmosphere became tense as everyone exchanged glances of recognition, trying to communicate through their eyes.
"It's fair," added Yesung, entering the room to join the others.
No one objected to the decision, and everyone nodded in agreement.
You didn't trust Kyuhyun, not when his abilities were imperceptible, nor did you trust Heechul. Who could assure you that your feelings wouldn't be manipulated in the midst of that series of questions and answers?
The only thing you were certain of was the fact that Yesung was the only one who could keep his word even if he didn't want to.
Another exchange of glances took place in front of you, everyone speaking in complete silence, everyone demonstrating the depth of the bond that had kept them together.
Leeteuk nodded and opened his mouth to ask the first question.
"What is this? And don't say 'a book,' you know what I mean."
You smiled amusedly because that very answer had crossed your mind.
"My mother's book of spells and combat techniques," you replied, thanks to Siwon's power that continued to compel you to tell the truth.
"Why do you have it?" Eunhyuk asked.
"I took it before going to Seoul to make my dream come true."
'Took' was a very vague term; perhaps the closest word was 'stole.'
"Did you take it or steal it?" Shindong interjected, as if he could read your mind.
The member whose presence was difficult to ignore sometimes managed to make you forget his enormous intellectual capacity.
"I stole it."
Yesung pressed his lips together and lowered his gaze.
It seemed incredible to him to hear you admit to theft. It's not like he had thought of you as a saint; in fact, in the past he would have thought that your hobbies were teasing children, robbing stores, and stealing from the elderly. But hearing you admit it in front of everyone, knowing that you were incapable of hurting a fly unless you had a good reason, seemed strange to him.
"Why did you do it?" The question came from Ryeowook, accompanied by an accusatory tone.
You let the air out of your lungs and inhaled as your mind tried to select the right parts of the story to share.
You would tell the truth, but there was no need to reveal it in detail.
"In the wrong hands, it can be dangerous, which is why I kept it hidden all this time."
Yesung's gaze returned to your face, observing, searching, always analyzing everything.
"What dangers are we talking about?"
Siwon's voice cut through the tension like a sword piercing an enemy's body.
Your breath caught in your throat and your eyes shifted to the floor. You weren't ready to reveal the whole story, but Siwon's power would force you to. You knew that your evasiveness would come to an end sooner or later.
It was only a matter of time before everyone's questions cornered you before one of them delivered the final blow.
You clenched your hands into fists and looked up only to meet Yesung's dark eyes.
His face remained expressionless, but his teeth continued to torture his lips, biting them nervously.
"It's difficult to explain if you don't understand the context in which I grew up, and honestly, I don't want to talk about my past, so I'll tell you what you can understand without delving into my life," you began, feeling the turmoil in your chest as the words came out carefully. "If my mother gets this book back, Kwangya will be at risk, and there will be no force that can protect the artists or the fans. The industry would come to an end.
Everyone fell silent, each processing the information in their own way.
You hoped that would be enough, that your honesty would make them give you back the book and not cause them to shun you.
Despite not being someone used to being surrounded by so many people, you didn't want to be ostracized.
"And since when have you liked Yesung?" Heechul blurted out of nowhere in an attempt to satisfy his curiosity and ease the tension of the moment.
Your mind immediately pushed the answer to the forefront, but your brain was faster than your lips, and you forced them to press against each other to prevent the answer from leaving your mind.
You were surprised to have found an answer so quickly. You weren't even sure of your own feelings. How had your brain managed to find an answer so quickly?
The resolution came as quickly as the result of adding one plus one.
"We said no one would use their powers," you complained, pointing your index finger accusingly at Heechul.
The rapper raised his hands in a gesture of innocence and shook his head.
"I thought we had ended the dynamic," he excused himself, despite having everyone's eyes on him. "Don't tell me now that I'm the only one who's curious."
Kyuhyun smiled mischievously before daring to speak.
"I just read her mind, and believe me when I tell you that she has a memory of a moment and doesn't want to reveal it."
Your eyes widened in surprise and your face turned scarlet as you shook your head in denial.
"It must be true since she refuses to part her lips," Siwon pointed out.
"Even in a notebook in his room, there was a dedication to our vocalist written on the edge of a page. It was in Chinese, but you know, I can read it," Donghae boasted, even though it was all a lie.
Ryeowook quickly stood up to stand behind Yesung, then reached out his hand toward you, and as if your body were made of metal and Ryeowook's were a magnet, he pulled you toward him.
Inevitably, you bumped into the vocalist, knocking him down in the process and causing everyone present to laugh.
The idol's back hit the floor as your hands clung to his shoulders. The pressure of your body on his forced him to remain in that position.
"This isn't funny!" Yesung shouted, throwing your body to one side as roughly as possible, finally standing up.
Due to the sudden movement, you fell to the floor, and the hollow thud of your elbow hitting the tile floor made Yesung react.
The heat of the moment and the desire to silence his companions had clouded his judgment.
He immediately turned to look at you and bent down to make sure you were okay, but you were lying motionless on the floor, your eyes wide open and anger rising in your fists.
"Could you stop telling so many lies?" you snapped as you put both hands on the floor to stand up. Yesung offered to help you, but you pushed his hands away with more force than necessary. "Do you think I like your vocalist?" you asked with a mocking smile on your lips. "Don't make me laugh. Me, in love with someone who has to think everything through a thousand times before making a decision? Never. Not while my name still being Y/N."
Once on your feet, you stormed toward the door in a rage. The members of Super Junior stepped aside to let you pass and not get in your way.
As soon as you left, your hand closed around the doorknob and you pulled it without looking back at them. The wooden door closed with a loud bang that left everyone silent.
Despite the short time they had been living together, you had never had that kind of reaction to any of them before.
"Did you really see the dedication?" Eunhyuk asked Donghae, prompting more laughter from the other members.
Kyuhyun patted the dancer on the shoulder in consolation.
"We were just playing with her," he explained with a smile. "Now you have to make the book appear in her room before she comes to kill us all to get it back."
Eunhyuk nodded and used his power to perform that simple task. Once the book disappeared, Siwon opened the door again and everyone began to file outside, pretending that nothing had happened in that room.
Yesung didn't follow them; instead, he waited for them to leave so he could close the door and remain alone inside.
He couldn't leave; he didn't want to face you after the reaction you'd had. He could still hear your mocking tone, and he was sure he could repeat every word you had said in his mind.
He knew your response had been given in a moment of anger, but that only made him realize that what had been said in the heat of the moment was all too real, a visceral feeling that should have been filtered through Siwon's power before being expressed.
The impact of your words had taken him by surprise, but even more impressive was the reddish glow your hair took on as you became angrier.
Yesung leaned his back against one of the walls and slowly slid down until his butt touched the floor. He had so much on his mind that he thought it might explode.
The singer closed his eyes, took a deep breath and allowed his mind to torture him slowly and silently as he repeated your words over and over again.

hai mickeyyy ^_^ do you have any advice for someone who wants to get more into the tumblr community? from setting up ur blog and learning how it works to making posts and connections? thank u sm <333 🫵🏾
HAII HAII HAIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! setting up your blog is very important, definitely like the first thing you want to do - if your blog is just empty and you have the basic tumblr header and pfp ppl might think that you're just a bot and so you might get blocked, so definitely change those.
theeen it would be nice to make like a little introduction post for yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! put your name/alias, YOUR AGE (very important), your pronouns aaand then idk some people want to add their zodiac signs or their mbti's it doesn't really matter, just add a little something about yourself. it's much easier to make connections when your blog looks like it's actually run by a person and not a bot. make posts about your day, vent and rant and ramble, use your blog as you wish.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO REBLOG. THIS IS THE REBLOGGING SITE. reblog funny posts, reblog random pictures, reblog fanfiction reblog fanart, anything and everything, just reblog. this is the way to be a part of the community. show your enthusiasm, nobody likes a ghost reader.
LEAVE COMPLIMENTS IN THE TAGS. they don't have to be a lot, could literally just be 'i loved this!' or like a keyboard smash and you've already made somebody's day. this is how i've met a lot of my mutuals, by just reading the tags they've left on my posts and then checking them out aaand then reading their stuff and reblogging their writings with my own tags. this is literally the best way of meeting people and making your connections.
mm as for putting tags on your writings, please make sure you're using the NEEDED ones. as in if you write smut please don't tag it as fluff (even if it has fluff in it). and only use the character you're actually writing for in the tags and yk don't.. just put every character you know in the tags, hoping to reach more people. it will just piss people off. the same goes for like very random posts too lmao if you make a one sentence post about idk him fucking you into the mattress and then add a million different x reader tags, people will be more irritated than anything.
oh aaaand you can make your own specific tags too, like every time i reblog art i tag it as 'loserville's art gallery' that way all of the art will be in one place and if i need to find smth i can just scroll through that tag. i have different tags for my writings and for my person posts etcetc you can get very creative with those so yk.. have fun!!!! make your blog your own little safe space!!!!!!!!
then there are also the trigger/content warning tags. if you're writing about stuff like dub/noncon please make sure to use the tag tw dubcon & tw noncon. content warning goes more for stuff like feet stuff and hybrids, yk things that ppl might not be into but they won't actually trigger anybody. please tag all of your darker stuff.
THEEEEENNN leave comments on posts aaand say hi to people in their inboxes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i know that can be very scary but again, you don't need to go and write the person a whole paragraph about whatever, you could literally just drop by and say that you love their works or smth and that'd be more than enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!! these kinds of interactions are what make the community!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hello doli. i might start yapping a bit and words dont mean much when you hear them over and over but just in case u havent been told i’ll tell them anyway
first of all, i’d rather worry over you than have you suffer alone. nobody should bottle things up inside themselves and im so glad that you did get it out instead of shoving it away or taking care of those thoughts in other ways.
i know its all so, so difficult and you’ve tried so hard. it’s not easy to get over things like that when they become what you resort to, but the fact that we’re coming up on a year is so incredible. im so proud of you for making it this far, even if you still think about it, or get triggered easily. what matters is that you haven’t done it—even when you’ve thought about it. that tells me so, so much, and even if it doesn’t feel like progress, it hasn’t made you weaker! you’re strong enough to resist those urges and as long as you keep at it, things will get better.
its so much easier said than done, i know, and you’ve already been at it for so long, i know. these things won’t go away for the time being, but we are always, ALWAYS here for you—if no one else, than i am. you are such an incredible person in so many ways and you never fail to make me laugh or leave me in awe with something you’ve created :,) this community wouldn’t be the same without you.
the people who worry for you do it because they care and they’d rather worry about how you’re doing than have something happen. it isnt your fault that these thoughts wont go away because you can’t control them, doli—that’s something that takes time. its recovery.
if you ever need to talk about it or need to vent or just keyboard smash or ANYTHING, anything whatsoever, i’ll be here for you because i love you/p :,) i love you even when you’re feeling your worst, and i’ll be there for you as long as you want me to be.
you don’t have to go through these things alone, and even though it’s hard, i know you’re strong enough to get through it. ilysmsmsm <333

Well, here we are, the 1v1 polls. And you know what that means - it's time for another format shift! I'm going to keep things simple, by listing what each of the two options have over the other, and making a conclusion of off that. Since most of the rooms in this round have a bit of an emotional aspect to them (case in point - this very poll), it's gonna be a little difficult to keep a sense of objectivity, but I'll try my best.
So, this one is about the city view room from The Exterior, and the large climbable tree from Outer Expanse. Since the city view came first, let's address it first as well.
I think the main thing that H01 does a lot better than TREETOP is that it's way easier to find, since Five Pebbles always tries to get Slugcats to leave the puppet chamber by going upward, rather than downward, into his superstructure. This means that the room only gets avoided when the player is deliberately refusing to take the path of least resistance, whereas TREETOP specifically demands that you don't take the path of least resistance. (And as such, a lot of players will miss it - I know I sure did. It's a good thing the devs put an unlockable there, cus otherwise, I might not have ever checked on it… just like how I never checked on the Metropolis Echo)
And is there anything else to note?
Well, I would say that it heavily wins in the music department, too - Stargazer is a very hard hitting piece of music that fits this area perfectly, and is the reason why this is such an impactful moment for people's first playthroughs, whereas Reminiscence is just kind of…. fine. (Bet ya didn't even know it plays in TREETOP, did ya? I actually had to look it up on a Reddit post myself xd)
There's also the fact that people got so obsessed over the background visuals of this one room that modders actually decided to make entire regions based off of it. And yes, I did use 'regions' plural, because Metropolis ain't the only fanmade region where you get to go into an Ancient city (though Scorched District is the only other example I know, but I'm sure there's more). I believe H01 is the only room that has managed to accomplish something like this (cus Rubicon and The Rot were seemingly off of subregions, not individual rooms), which is why it's an enormous achievement.
Now that we've noted all this, what is it that TREETOP has to offer? A decent number of things, as you might imagine.
For starters, it actually has some decent gameplay, where you get to do a bit of fun climbing, instead of just having to hold your finger on the right or left arrow key on your keyboard, as you wait for your Slugcat to get from one pipe to the other. The room feels a lot less tedious as a result of this, especially since it takes a lil shorter to get through, as well.
Most Downpour players also know that H01 gets Scavengers in Spearmaster's and Artificer's campaigns, which can be a minor inconvenience at best, and an utterly insufferable obstacle that kills you multiple times at worst. Not to mention, thanks to how the campaigns of those 2 Slugcats work, both of them are pretty much forced to cross the room, so you kind of have no choice, but to deal with this new annoyance (unless you want to use a Passage as SM, or bring a lvl 5 Karma Scavenger corpse into the Underhang gate as Arti...... and then reach the Metropolis gate by going back down, and then climbing up the Wall). It's a neat world building detail, but god, does it suck for gameplay!
To get back on track with TREETOP's positives, it allows you to see something you couldn't see anywhere else, either before or after - which is Five Pebbles' can from afar. The interactive map really doesn't do it justice, but it is extremely well detailed, and extremely well drawn, and honestly, just hats off to whoever made this background because they did an incredible job, that I really cannot do justice for, within this little reblog!
I would give it points for having that beautiful glowing orb thingy, buuuuut this is technically not the only room that uses it. However, I believe that this is by far the biggest one, so there's that.
In conclusion - this is a really difficult choice. I feel like the achievements of H01 outweigh the achievements of TREETOP, but the former also has weakspots that are much more significant and egregious than the weakspots of the latter. I'm still going with H01, partially because I have a bit of a bias, being a pre-Downpour player, but also because of just how much that one room actually did for the game in general. I know that TREETOP is more popular, and believe me, I totally get it (if my long praise speech on it wasn't proof enough), but sometimes, you really can't help but appreciate the impact that something has had.
Pick Your Favorite Rain World Room, Day 283 R5
There is a hidden slugcat in one of the rooms (they can be in any color). If u can see it comment or reblog with where they are and if u are first, u get a cookie!

Your Relationship Gets Revealed ~ Johnny Seo
Tumblr media
You looked to Johnny with a panic in your eyes as he opened up the comments section to the statement that SM had released a short while ago confirming the rumour that the two of you were together after an article had been released.
“It’s fine,” Johnny smiled empathetically across at you, “we’ve got nothing to feel bad about, regardless of what anyone has to say.”
You knew that it wasn’t going to be as simple as moving on without a care about what everyone else had to say about the two of you, especially those who supported him.
It had been a case of dodging everyone for the two of you for some time, knowing that reporters were onto you. Whilst you tried your hardest to get away from it all, eventually they caught up to you, and couldn’t wait to begin to share their findings online.
“What do the comments say?” You pushed Johnny once again, refusing to allow him to shield you from it all. “I bet they all want us to break up, don’t they?”
A soft chuckle came from Johnny as he watched over how nervous you were. He had always been the more level-headed of the two of you anyway, and even though he was nervous too, he was never as terrified as you were.
“Most of them seem happy,” he informed you, keeping his phone away from you, “but of course, there’s a few not so happy ones.”
“And what do those ones say? How bad really are they Johnny?”
His head shook as you tried to reach out and take his phone from him. He was determined to protect you, whatever it took, the last thing you deserved was to be surrounded by negativity for doing absolutely nothing wrong.
But what Johnny failed to realise was the shield he was keeping around you was only scaring you more, with your hand pushing against his arm encouraging him to speak up.
“You don’t need to worry about those ones,” he tried to assure you once again, but your head could only shake back at him. “Put it this way, I don’t want you reading those comments because they talk a load of nonsense that you don’t need to see.”
Your eyebrows raised questionably back across at him, whilst you appreciated his concern, you were more than capable of dealing with a few hateful comments written on a keyboard.
“Fine but let me find bad ones that I want you to read rather than you scrolling through.”
You smiled in relief as Johnny finally caved, scrolling meticulously through the feed until he found a couple of comments that he was happy to let you take a look at.
“You can’t keep me from all of this forever,” you reminded him as you took his phone from his hand, “it’s not that simple.”
Johnny’s head nodded as you read through the couple of comments, trying your hardest to keep yourself composed. As you did, intrigue very quickly got the better of you.
Johnny watched on with wide eyes as you decided to continue scrolling, reading through every single comment that you could until he snatched his phone out his hand.
“That’s unfair Y/N.”
“Why? Especially when all of that is written about me too?” You questioned firmly, biting down on your bottom lip to stop yourself from getting too attached.
Whilst the comments that you were able to flick through were mostly positive, one comment in particular stuck with you. You were sure it was harmless and unintentional, just a fan who was in shock and taking that out on you, but the more it played on your mind, the more you began to doubt whether the fan was telling the truth all along.
“Can I ask you something?” You quizzed Johnny.
His head nodded back at you as he closed off his phone, keeping it well out of reach of you down the side of the sofa where you wouldn’t be able to get to.
“Are you sure this is what you want? This is going to bring a lot of attention onto you.”
No response came from Johnny as his eyes stared blankly across at yours. He tried desperately, but his mind couldn’t understand where such a question had come from.
And then he remembered how quick you were to scroll, he recalled closing his phone off and reading through the comment that he’d managed to take his phone back on. The comment that questioned whether you were really worth all of the hassle that Johnny was about to go through.
“It’s alright for you to say no,” you added as he continued to remain quiet, “I would probably be a little bit doubtful too if I was in your position right now.”
With that, Johnny’s head instantly shook, with his hands falling against your arms to keep you in position and looking at him. “You. You’re the one I want, you’re worth everything that we’re about to go through and more Y/N.”
Before you could reply, Johnny’s arms flew around your frame and pulled you tightly across into his chest. Your hands collapsed against his chest to support yourself as several kisses were scattered gently over the top of your head.
“Johnny, I can’t breathe,” you laughed, nudging his chest gently for him to loosen his grip around you.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered down to you, “I just don’t want you to ever feel as if you’re not worth it or doubt my dedication to you. Whether we’re dating in private or in public, I don’t care about anything else as long as I can go through it with you still by my side.”
Getting through the next few weeks at least was going to be far from easy, although your statement was one of honesty, it was never going to be enough to keep all of Johnny’s fans on side, there was always going to be someone who disapproved of the two of you.
All he wanted to do was keep you safe, whatever happened, Johnny wanted you with him so that he could prove to you, and everyone watching how serious he was about being with you.
“The majority of fans adore you, and that’s what we need to focus on right now,” he spoke up once again, “we can’t let a few negative comments defeat us like this.”
“I’m sorry, I just saw that one comment and panicked, I don’t know what happened.”
His head shook, squeezing you a little bit tighter, “you don’t need to apologise, I can’t begin to imagine how hard it must be for you to deal with this when it’s all brand new for you.”
“I can’t believe this is the sort of thing that you guys all go through on a daily basis, now I see why you guys are all so strong.”
“You learn to ignore it,” he reasoned, “and I know that with time you will too, as long as we have each other then no comments are going to get the better of us, how does that sound to you.
Instantly, your head nodded, “as long as we support each other, nothing will break us up.”
“Exactly, and I won’t ever let anything, or anyone, do that,” Johnny swiftly assured you.
“Do you think things will get easier?”
“Of course, they will. Just with time.”

Hiya! I'm not sure if your taking requests, but can I request the LXC or poly WangXian (whichever you want^^) with a cosplayer s/o? Like one day they need something and walk in to them in full costume making tiktoks, then find out their job is a social media influencer? Thank you sm!!
Your blog is so addictive ngl💕💕
hehe, i’m so glad you’re enjoying my little posts, thank you for reading!  the funny thing is i just watched a movie yesterday with a plot that’s kind of like this; it was hilarious and i loved it a lot. let me give a go at writing, (☆▽☆)
here’s to your request~
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
it sounds like a song, maybe even a vocal exercise of some sort
honestly, Wei Ying doesn’t know
behind him, Lan Zhan closes the door, steps in
they both share a look
your small apartment was quiet except for the muffled sounds coming from your closed bedroom a little bit farther away
“you think y/n’s okay?” Wei Ying asks his companion and Lan Zhan does a funny little shoulder shrug as they both take off their shoes and walk deeper into your apartment
they get to your bedroom and open the door without knocking
honestly,
Wei Ying doesn’t know what he was expecting
maybe you playing on your keyboard or something
Lan Zhan peeks in over his shorter partner’s head
and they both,
well,
they’re both kinda shooked
you’re in a full costume of sorts, with hair that’s a completely different color from your natural color, bright blue color contact eyes
and also
your voice
“oooh kayyy; and that’s how you do it! let me know if you need me to go through the parts again”
Wei Ying and Lan Zhan both stand at the door way, gaping at you as you lean closer to your phone screen to read the comments popping up
“who’s the two people by your doorway...” you mumble as your read the comment out loud and turn around just to yelp at the intruders watching you work
Wei Ying has the audacity to send an awkward wave at you
you want to yell, or say something else
but you’re quick to get back in character,
cause you’ve been doing this for a while now
it’s just your first time being interrupted like this
“wellll, my lovely friends, i think it’s time to end our little session for today! but tune in next week for another dance tutorial and a q&a with me to know all about my new costume!! sweet dreams angels!”
you quickly end your livestream and turn around to the two people still gaping at you from the door way
“don’t you guys ever knock!”
and well, at least your voice was normal again
“what are you doing??” Wei Ying asks curiously, the questions tumbling out of his mouth as he comes into your room and sees your whole set up
the tripod stand, the lights
god, they were bright
“well, i run a small channel and people wanted to know how i made this,” you explain, incredibly brief, and the two boys in front of you look down at your frilly dress
“you made that?” both Wei Ying and Lan Zhan question, cutely, at the same time
“yeah, the stores don’t have it the way that i like, so i thought it’d be easier to just make it myself...”
you’re suddenly bombarded by Wei Ying’s gushing and oohs
“wowowow, i never thought that i’d have such a talented girlfriend!”
you laugh as Wei Ying touches the fabric of your dress, playing around with the frills
and your smile grows wider when Lan Zhan comes up to you and places a gentle hand on your head
“your eyes are cool when they’re opal, but i miss your (e/c) eyes.” Lan Zhan tells you when you look up to him
you smile, huffing out a little breath of air
“it’s just for the internet persona,” you reassure him, and he smiles down at you
your attention is back on the other person when you feel your dress being pressed
“alright, stop touching it you’re going to wrinkle the little ruffles,”
“but they’re so soft!”
“Wei Ying!”

Can I request Memory and Teach for Sam and Sebastian, please??
aaaa this is quite long!! also i apologize for it sitting for a while, this was p tough but i do love both of the boys sm :,) !!
memory:
what memory are they most fond of?
-sam: sam remembers one of the first friends he ever made when he was still living in zuzu city! his friend’s parents kinda doubled as his own, and saw his friend’s dad as a father figure when kent was away! his friend’s dad was super big on music and taught his son how to play a few instruments, and sam really loved how close they all were! his friend’s dad bought him his first acoustic guitar :,)
-seb: when him and sam were younger robin allowed sam to come on a camping trip with them!! it was the first time sam and seb really were close for an extended period of time and they were able to do some stuff on their own for the first time!! seb remembers sam being suuuper bad at fishing and struggling to start a fire (despite say he was the best at both)... the whole trip is a fun memory for him!
what memory bothers them?
-sam: his mom blew up on him and vincent for something super small. sam was old enough to piece together she wasn’t upset with them, but was just stressed about kent. vincent didn’t understand what he had done wrong and took it really bad, and was kinda distant from jodi for a little bit just because he was scared to make her mad again.
-seb: anything that has to do with his father! he tries to repress it as much as possible instead of dealing with it, but sometimes he’ll have a good memory with his father come up and then feels guilty for resenting him!
what is something from the past they've learned from?
-sam: always check up on everyone! if someone seems like they’re struggling.. even a little.. he’ll offer some help or at least some encouraging words. he learned esp with sebastian and keeping in tune with him, but it works for when his mom is super stressed too!
-seb: not to waste his breath on those that don’t deserve it! he’ll be the bigger person and not fight with others on trivial stuff that has no real outcome. he’s not one for confrontation anyway, but if someone’s looking for someone to back them up, it’s not gonna be him.
what is a memory that always makes them laugh?
-sam: these 2 are connected, but def sometime he pranked seb. anytime he’s made seb (lightheartedly, ofc) annoyed he enjoys it. he lives to innocently mess with others and finds the funniest moments are where he’s successfully caught someone off guard. but, there was a time when he was younger kent got stuck on a water slide… he doesn’t let kent live that down, despite knowing the slide was built for kids.
-seb: i think canonically seb smiles thinking about how sam is leading in community service hours and i thiiink another dialogue is similar to that. it seems like memories with sam make him chuckle if they cross his mind! sam launching snowballs accidentally into lewis’ face, tripping over his own feet in front of penny.. etc
teach:
what is one thing they wish to teach the world?
-sam: not so much the world, but he’d love to teach vincent to be himself as he is!! and to pursue what he wants no matter what jodi or anyone would say against it!!
-seb: he hopes that as he is… people will learn to be more compassionate and not jump to conclusions about a person. he knows he’s a likable guy, just hopes sometimes people will learn to see past his faults.
what is something they think is important that isn't taught at school?
-sam: mental health!! i think he’d be a big advocate for knowing what’s going on in the head and how to catch certain things early. teach people its ok to breakdown!! there’s nothing wrong with needing a break and taking it easy… teach kids that it’s okay to be upset.
-seb: honestly? computer sciences. i mean you have keyboarding and such but like? viruses, simple stuff like settings and such? not touched on a lot! he gets so sick doing simple tasks for people sooo often, esp when it’s like basic stuff! gotta teach some computer smarts (so no one bothers him when he’s busy lsdkflkds)
what is something they wish they knew earlier?
-sam: lifes too short to mope around and be upset about insignificance things!! gotta look at the positives in bad situations and take nothing for granted! his dad being away kinda taught him a lot about mortality, and now makes sure to appreciate the little things!
-seb: people do care about him. he’s more secure with his friends now, but it took him years to warm up and not feel like a burden/annoyance to them. he now knows if he does feel down both abby and sam are ready to jump to his side… even if he doesn’t think he’ll leave a ~lasting impact~ on the world, he takes comfort he at least brings them some joy from time to time.
what was their best and worst school subject?
-sam: he’s v good at science-y stuff! like the plant/animal part of biology (even stuff like enzymes etc!!) and finds a lot of interest in it!! if he can do like hands on labs he learns the best and its easier to apply his knowledge!
-seb: english! def the english teacher’s fave kid. likes classics and the drama of shakespeare… won’t really read aloud unless he’s called on. he’s super good at grammar and english has always come super easy to him! he also really likes history but only specifics of it.
were they a "good student"? why or why not?
-sam: ohh no. definitely a good bit of that is his adhd, but teachers ofc never really took him seriously. i think he’s v bright and intelligent but.. traditional learning is not for him.
-seb: he’s the kid that got “a pleasure to have in class” on his report card simply bc he never spoke! the kid that the loud and rowdy kids get sat next to to be a ‘good influence’... good grades until he hit his teen years and started feeling.. y’know... gloomy.
