Gothel knew so much about Alice and Killian's lives in the tower. But how? I can't stop imagining her hovering in the air and peeping over the windowsill or through one of those scooby doo-style portraits with eyes. Or maybe she was on the ceiling the whole time :O!
My best guess is that she communicated to Alice through her dreams or could telepathically gather information that way. Or it could be that she's just telepathic at all times, as she seems to have the psionic ability to control minds (like the Desk Sergeant).
What do you think is most likely @fairytalepsuedonym ?

I love this theory! It would explain so much! I have always been confused about Killian apparently not going back to the tower after all those years. From what we know from canon, he could have totally just shouted up to Alice from the bottom of the tower. Headcanon accepted!
@fairytalepsuedonym Come look! @priscilla9993 has solved the plot hole!!
What if just like Rapunzel (and other iterations of her story where the witch’s grove and the tower was hidden), in the aftermath of Killian getting his heart poisoned, Gothel made the tower unfindable again with Alice trapped alone and looking out the window, desperately hoping her papa would come back and save her with a cure?
I bet Gothel was only found, when she was pretending to be Rapunzel bc she had enough power to wield her magic to make the tower visible for people to find her, hopefully giving her the chance to create a blood offspring to take her place. This spell probably unknowingly stayed enacted until she took matters into her own hands to goad Killian’s small mistake and prove her point on humans being nothing but liars and evil-doers.
We know from both Marcus and Killian that they tried searching for their imprisoned loved one, but never found them. However, as an ultimate and unfair punishment on the loving father and daughter pair, she made it so that Killian never was able to find the tower again, even on the off chance that he dared to risk going through pain to see a glimpse of Alice or hear her voice. I can only assume that’s why he went looking for her the way he did and was briefly heartbroken when Regina told him she saw the ruins of a destroyed tower, visible to her since it was no longer magically binding its inhabitant, Killian assuming his little girl was dead from a natural disaster.

omg guys no wait
The duel wasn’t about pride.
Ahab knew about Alice, something Killian would have kept secret. He didn’t even talk about her with Smee, who would likely be one of the few who knew. He was very careful with his words.
So how did Ahab know?
Gothel poisoned the bullet.
Gothel told him about Alice.
She probably promised to help him with his white whale problem if he got Hook to duel him. (Probably help him in some other ways, bow chikka, the girl apparently likes pirates?) It wouldn’t have been that hard, either. Besting such an infamous pirate captain in a duel?
Basically, Ahab was a pawn to get to the knight.
Because with the knight out of the way, the rook was wide open...

Once Upon A Time Rewatch: 7x13 Knightfall
I love this episode!
I feel like Alice/Tilly’s precognitive abilities don’t get talked about enough. The fact that she sensed something bad was going to happen while awake shows that they’re not just limited to dreams, and they’re not hindered by the curse. Does she get that power from Gothel?
She gets so excited by simple things like sand, bless her.
“I saw the Witch again.” Gothel! For God’s sake stop haunting Alice’s dreams! Either that or it’s just Alice’s precognition but I’m inclined to believe it’s a mixture of the former and latter.
I wonder how long poor Alice has had nightmares of Gothel.
The knightrook feels are killing me!
Poor Tilly just wanted to hang out and play chess with her Papa.
Oh, Regina and Facilier had sexy time. I always forget that but damn! A win for Shadow Queen!
Eloise be like: "I dislike that word, Gerald; cult. No, it's an exciting new religion that I started!"
I am so confused about Eloise’s angle here. She’s playing games with Rogers rather than giving direct information that could preserve the lives of her coven members. Maybe she just doesn’t care about them. I suppose they can be easily replaced, as they were. Even though members were killed, I believe she still had 7 additional members by 7x19. Maybe there are reserve members?
Rogers must be so confused and conflicted. In his head he’s spent years searching for this Eloise, who he believed to be a vulnerable girl, but now he finds out she’s this confident manipulator of the vulnerable. That’s gotta be playing tricks with his mind.
He still thinks he knows her.
Wish Rumple doesn’t seem all that bad in this episode. He actually seems like he’s trying to help. It’s probably all a manipulation though, going by what we see of him in 6x11, 7x21 and 7x22.
Oh, so I guess even in the EF Rumple’s cage must have drained his power.
Eloise flirting with Rogers gives me the heebie-jeebies. Please just leave him alone!
So, is Eloise trying to wake up Rogers? And if she is, why?
Poor Lucy. That is so much for a little kid to hold on their shoulders.
Can’t they just threaten to arrest Eloise if she doesn’t tell them what she knows or something?
Aww, Smee missed Killian.
I guess Drizella’s feeling like her curse was all a waste of time now.
I’m not even sure if Drizella’s into Henry. I think she just has no one and like, she said, he’s the only person she can talk to. I’m not so sure he would be if he remembered what she did but then again Henry is pretty forgiving. I doubt he’d appreciate the kiss though.
I hate that Gothel does this to Tilly. She has caused that girl so much pain, no wonder Tilly takes one look at her and freaks out.
I just wanna hug Tilly. She needs her Papa. At least Rumple is trying to help.
Wish Hook would slap himself if he saw himself talking to Alice like that. She just wants to help you!
Please listen to her! If only they’d listened to her.
Gothel makes me sick. She can see through that camera, and she knows what she’s doing to Tilly and relishes in it. She’s playing horrible mind games with Tilly, and with Alice in the flashbacks.
I’ve heard theories that Ahab is a glamoured Gothel and I’ve also heard some that suggest Ahab was working for Gothel. She could have poisoned the bullet herself without his knowledge, I suppose. I’m not sure I can see her participating in a duel in disguise as Ahab. She is vulnerable to weapons, I believe, as otherwise the nymphs couldn’t have been killed, so I don’t think she would have risked it.
Ah, now I remember why these theories came about. If he wasn’t either working for Gothel or a glamoured version of her, how could he know Hook’s daughter's name was Alice? I doubt it would be common knowledge, since Hook had to make sure no one knew about her as she was completely vulnerable whenever he left for supplies or to search for a means of helping to free her. Yeah, I think he’s working for Gothel. I’m not sure why though. Probably for gold or a chance at his white whale.
I think that’s what did it for Hook, when he mentioned Alice’s name all bets were off. I believe he agreed to the duel because of his need to preserve his reputation and to prove himself but I think in his head he was protecting her also because if Ahab knew so much about Alice, did he know her location and who else could he tell? I mean, he could have killed Ahab there and then but, yeah, he wanted people to know he hadn’t lost his spark. It could have been a matter of honour and fairness as well. I think he wanted an excuse not to free Rumple as well, as he could easily hunt down him and Alice after escaping.
The sincerity in Wish Rumple’s face and the desperation in his voice when he says: “Otherwise you are gonna lose everything.” He knows exactly what it’s like to lose a child because of one mistake. In this realm all his planning and plotting was for nothing because Bae somehow made it back to the Wish EF and died. I guess that’s another clue that there must be a Wish Neverland.
Hook, no! This is gonna be the biggest mistake of your life!
Ahab is certainly as manipulative as Gothel here. Hmmm.
Get out of Rogers’ head, Gothel! And Tilly’s too for that matter!
It's the Ten Duel Commandments. It's the Ten Duel Commandments.
Then count: One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, number ten, paces. Fire!
I had to, okay xD.
The knightrook montage though! I cry! I would have given anything for more flashback episodes of them but gosh this fandom's fics are heart breaking and beautiful.
Omg I’m not ready for them to be forcefully separated D’:
That guy in the flower shop who says his wife is dead seems so suspicious.
How could the killer be using Eloise to distract Rumple and Rogers?
As if Tilly could knock out the security guard.
Oh God, Tilly. This does not look good.
So Gothel must have put her under a trance and told her to go to the hospital. But why? It seems like Gothel is trying to set her up but why if Nick/Jack is her enemy? She would surely want him caught to prevent him killing other members of her coven. Why would she help him? And there’s surely no way he’s helping her. He said he wanted her dead most of all. I guess she just wanted an opportunity to make Tilly suffer more, to test her guardianship, but then how would she know Nick/Jack was going to the hospital? Unless, of course, she put him under a trance and told him to kill the baker at the hospital. Maybe she wasn’t so fond of the Blind Witch. That has to be the only explanation. Tilly must have been under a trance for her to end up at the hospital without wanting to be there or knowing how she got there. I know she has blank moments, but I don’t see why else she would go there.
Can I hug Tilly, now?! She must be so upset and confused.
Rogers’ and Rumple’s fear when she jumped out of the window. They care for her so much.
I wonder where Alice learnt parkour. Was it on her adventures to Wonderland and other places? Or was Tilly just cursed with memories on how to do that. Honestly, I wouldn’t put it past Gothel to give her those memories in the hopes she’d fall off a building.
Gaaah! I’m not ready for more heartbreak!
That moment when they think she’ll finally be free, and she goes to hug him and aggggh!
Oh my God. Gothel is so evil! That mark literally burned into Alice’s wrist. What a bitch.
Go away, Gothel!!
Gothel, why are you like this?! Did your father abandon you or something. What the hell?!
The poisoned heart curse looks so painful. He’s so determined to get to her.
Alice’s screaming for her Papa to help her D’: He was just forced to listen to her screams, powerless to do anything. His face! It’s freaking heartbreaking!
My eyes! I can’t!
And Alice is just a kid and she’s all alone trapped in an empty tower with only memories of her Papa, with no means of ever escaping if only to see him again. Gaaaaah!
I wish I could remember the name and author of the fic where he keeps trying to climb the tower all night, but he falls and falls, and it only makes things worse. Because that is my headcanon for what happened afterwards, and it breaks me.
I have a headcanon that Gothel came back to taunt Alice throughout the years, just to play mind games and to make her suffering worse. Because she would do that.
Team grandma Regina and Lucy!

Me? Crying? N e v e r
Little, insighful and beautiful Once Upon a Time Moments
Killian did not take care of Alice because of honor (not only at least) even if we know he is an honorable man who was horrified at the idea at a baby being abandoned. He took care of Alice because of love. And it is very much incredible given the circunstances: he was used and mislead into conceiving her and he was a pirate in a centuries crusade of revenge.
But again Killian showed us his greatest quality: his capacity to love. The moment he learned that tiny, defendless baby was his he could only do one thing: love her. And with that Killian leaves all his life behind to take care of her knowing very well that maybe given the magic he may never leave. He even gave her the name of one of the person he loved most, showing is she is his top priority. He was completly besotted from the first moment at that look was never away from his face.
Dedicated to @pirateherokillian. Send your request!

For the OUAT asks: 11, 16, 18, 24 and 26 :D
Hellooooo :D Thank you for asking ;)
11. Mad Hatter or Frankenstein?
Well, I’d put the gif “both? both! both is good” BUT, if I had to pick...
16. What are some of your favorite scenes?
HA! Ha! *cries*
Uhhhhhhhmm, let’s see - I don’t remember much of s1 and s2 to be totally fair but, apart from everything Captain Swan and everything Knightrook and everything Killian Jones and everything Alice Jones and everything Emma Swan save for that fucked up 6x15 OOC thing and everything Ivy and everything Liam Jones:
- Emma and Henry’s True Love’s Kiss
- David’s dream
- Anna and Elsa, honestly, I loved the Frozen Arc
- WAIT! THIS!! THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST SCENES EVER!!
I just got SO emotional with this one.
- Totally absolutely Herny and Ivy’s kiss. I don’t care. I love it.
They are basically reverse!CaptainSwan. Fuck the princess, I want te reformed villain.
- I have so many other I know they’ll come up biting my ass as soon as I hit post lol
18. What is the saddest non-death scene?
Lemme see:
- dis
- dis
- dis
- dis
- dis
- dis
- dis - is this considered death? yes? no? I FEEL THINGS
- DAVID seeing little Emma (yes, only David)
24. What was the most badass scene?
Uh. UH. How... do I know that???
- this duel for sure v.v :’D
- Emma facing Maleficent at the end of s1 for sure (ugh, don’t wanna search for gifsss)
- David in 101 fighting with Emma in his arms
- Killian having to face the pain to save David in Good Form because he’s a frigging badass to face that kind of pain v.v
- Deckhand!Killian facing Evil!Charming
- Dark Killian facing the Darkness
Many others :’D
26. What surprise shocked you most?
Okay, so, I started watching after s1, bingeing it before s2 aired so the many twists to the tales got to me alright. I then was very much focused on BTS and theories so I was kind of “one step ahead” of sorts. Totally Red being the wolf, honestly, and, well, Pan being Rumple’s father - not to mention, Henry’s not real father because we know he’s not. Mhmm, I also think Ivy remembering? Because we all thought Victoria was the villain etc. Oh! Of course, it shocked me that Killian had become the Dark One, though I honestly don’t remember whether I already saw the bts scenes with him and Excalibur on the Jolly - I think I had, however, because I remember thinking “okay, why the hell is his name on the blade?” and then “they need a vessel... is this Becoming part 2????”. But it shocked me seeing it on screen nonetheless.
AH!
Yes, of course
The proposal in 6x13 and the pancakes in 6x18 :’D I legit screamed at past 2am then lol

Do you have any headcanons on Alice’s relationship with original Hook, Emma, and Hope?
I kind of love the idea of the KnightRook family and the CaptainSwanHope family being really close. Originally it was because of spite against anti Alice people but it’s gradually become it’s own thing now and I hope to write more fanfics about them in the future - as well as read some when I can.
So headcanons!:
Alice constantly refers to Hope as her little sister. She partly does it because she always wanted a sibling and Hope was as close as she is ever going to get and partly because she loves seeing the looks on people’s faces. If anyone tries to tell her otherwise, she just plain refuses to listen to them. She also teaches Hope some little things over the years - including how to scale buildings and rooms which leads to some awkward questions when Emma and Killian come home to find Hope sitting on the roof one day.(I also have a part theory/part headcanon that Alice is, in a way, almost an alternative version of Hope so as Hope grows up, people notice they’re a lot alike which leads to them getting on even better over the years.)
As for Hope’s parents, I kind of imagine Killian is really awkward around her at first and Alice loved teasing him about it. She can tell her papa and Killian apart because Rogers keeps his prosthetic hand while Killian has his hook, but sometimes Alice pretends not to notice and she’ll hug him or talk casually until she “catches sight” of her actual father. Killian adjusts over time and becomes a an uncle to her, but it’s still more of a distant uncle because he tends to over think the alternative aspects of it.
And then there’s Emma, who - funny enough - Alice is a little awkward around, at first. She doesn’t really know what to think of the woman who - in an alternative world - is her fathers true love and sometimes she worries her father missed out on love because he had her instead. However after she and Emma spend some time together, they get on quite well - Emma also is the one to assure Alice that Rogers didn’t miss anything because he had her as a true love instead. Emma even teaches Alice how to play tricks on her dad using magic (like making his prosthetic hand disappear up onto one of the high shelves) and once Alice starts calling Hope her little sister, Emma sometimes plays along, referring to Alice as Hope’s big sister.

OUAT 7x22 ‘Leaving Storybrooke’ Review/Headcanons/Fix-it....spoilers (duh)
That series finale was a mess. But still had a lot of beautiful moments.
Pros
Rumple’s death scene. They gave him a worthy send-off and that made really happy.
THEY LET NEAL NOLAN FINALLY GROW UP. HE’S NOT A BABY ANYMORE.
Captain Swan baby name: Hope Swan-Jones. BLESS.
Alice and Robin being chased by the dwarves, Archie, and Granny.
The Wish!Henry-Regina stand-off.
All the gowns and dresses in the coronation scene were so pretty.
Robin asking Hook for his blessing to marry Alice. Imma cry.
Rumpbelle reunion.
Knightrook reunion.
Outlaw Queen dream sequence.
Rumple giving Hook his heart.
Snow giving a hope speech.
Wish!Henry being sheriff.
Emma bursting in wearing a fancy dress and her red leather jacket, with messy hair and a baby bag with Killian and Hope behind her.
All the flashes of different moments throughout the seasons. This finale with all its flaws was still such a beautiful love letter to ouat.
Cons
Season 7 was supposed to be the Henry Mills story....that finale was clearly the Regina Mills story. I am not happy.
We still have no answer as to how they fixed the whole timeline issue.
Ella and Lucy had NO LINES AT ALL. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. NEITHER DID TIANA. LIKE THE ONLY THREE MAIN POC CHARACTERS HAD NO ROLE IN THE FINALE WHEN THE WHOLE SEASON WAS ABOUT THEM!!
Regina just being crowned Queen of Everything????
My theory of Lucy being the Guardian was completely smashed to bits and I’m very bitter about it.
WE GOT NO CONTEXT OF HOW TIANA WON HER KINGDOM BACK FROM BELFREY.
WE DIDN’T GET AN ELLA/HENRY WEDDING FLASHBACK. REMINDER: THESE TWO GOT MARRIED IN THE MIDDLE OF A REVOLUTION. WE SHOULD’VE GOTTEN THAT SCENE.
Fix-its/Headcanons
Regina may be Queen of all the united realms but I hold true that all the other monarchs still held their power: Snow and David still rule Misthaven, Emma and Killian - Storybrooke, Dorothy and Ruby get Oz, Tiana -Wish!Misthaven, Aurora and Phillip rule their kingdom, Elsa and Anna - Arendelle, Jasmine and Aladdin - Agrabah, Mulan and Merida - DunBroch, etc.
Regina found a way to return everyone to their own timeline but just brought Wish!Henry along with her. Zelena just came back for California for the coronation.
Ella and Henry got married like Snow and David did before David’s mother died. A small ceremony attended by only their closest friends next to the lake where he asked Ella to marry him.
Emma and Killian take over the Storybrooke government and appoint Wish!Henry as Sheriff in their stead.
Ivy and Anastasia get a shock when their land suddenly joins with so many others but they get reunited with Ella and they all grow closer together and tell each other their adventures.
Henry sets up a quiet, personal memorial for Hansel/Jack. Zelena and Ivy both attend and offer their apologies for contributing to his misery.
Henry, Ella, and Lucy take over Gold’s pawnshop and work with Gideon who brings them more trinkets and antiques to sell from his travels. Henry keeps recording their stories.
Alice and Robin start a summer camp where Alice teaches children with magic to control their powers and various arts and crafts. She also plans birthday parties. Robin of course teaches outdoor activities like archery and hunting. Killian and David are occasional instructors for sailing and sword-fighting.
Lucy starts showing signs of magic and is trained by Emma and Regina. She also occasionally babysits Hope.
Wish!Henry finds the Wish version of Violet and falls in love with her.

OUAT Thoughts...
So I was thinking about OUAT this morning (as one does), and it just made me wonder. What do you think A&E’s plan for season 7 was when they asked JMo to come back? Just how much would be different? Would we have revisited the Wish Realm? Would Alice have had a more minor part? Would Knightrook still exist--and if so, would Alice be CS’s child? What would cursed Emma be like, and would she know she and Killian were married? Would Gothel still be the big bad of the season, and how would her story have been different?
Thoughts?
*disclaimer: I’m not really looking for debate about whether the season would be better or worse with JMo involved, just theories. I like to think about writers’ “first draft” ideas, before inspiration and/or circumstances make them go in a different direction.
I think a “JMo extended her contract” season 7 au would be interesting, even though I’ve genuinely enjoyed season 7.

2 - Shadow Queen for the ask game?
Thanks for the ask!
When I started shipping them:
From this moment:
They came as such a suprise! I didn’t expect Regina to ever get another love interest but then, their chemistry was through the roof in this scene and we learnt that they had a history together! I was hoping for flashbacks but I just instantly fell in love with the idea of them together.
My thoughts:
OTP! In the past, I’d never had an otp for Regina. I’ve never really felt strongly about any of her ships and I didn’t think I’d ever have anyone to really ship herr strongly with. Then Facilier came along and the pairing just blew my mind! I don’t know why I’d never thought about Regina with a villain before. It was perfect! And he was the perfect villain for her! I mean, he’s more morally grey than a true villain, and you can tell he’d sacrifice a lot for her in a heartbeat.
What makes me happy about them:
The way he treats Regina like a queen! (See what I did there xD). His smooth way of talking. The fact that she tries to resist him but can’t seem to. His unfailing honesty with her! That’s such a unique trait on a morally grey character or villain and it makes him so much more complex. All that could have been!
What makes me sad about them:
Why, oh why did they have to kill him??! It was so needless! Why kill him at the end of the show when they were so close to having a happy ending together! Why leave Regina without a love interest when there was one right there for her? There was room to begin writing a redemption for him, even with the simplist of gestures. Or they could have kept their relationship as it was, with him promising not to go after the dark one dagger.
Things I look for in fanfic:
I haven’t got round to reading that much fan fic with them yet. I’m still on my Curious Archer/ Knightrook kick xD. But when I do, I look for the chemistry and the romance. He has to be his smooth, romantic self and of course, I live for the angst. Facilier engaging in villainous activities and Regina battling internally over what she should do in those situations.
My wishlist:
Again, I don’t fully understand this question but let’s say it means fics I wish to write or would love to read. So, Harry Potter AUs all the way, with her as a former death eater and Facilier as a current one. Any story with hime trying to bring her back to her villainous ways while she fights to bring her back to his. A story set during the events of ‘the Princess and the Frog’ with Regina as facilier’s love interest, who’s allegiance lies with the other side. AUs where he survives and they live in the United realms together, but he still does questionable things. Hypothetical season 8 stories.
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:
Grrrr. This question is evil. Eachother of course! But if I must, Regina with maybe Mal. I do like them as angsty exes with a complicated past but I can see them ending up together. Facilier with Zelena. They had a nice, sassy relationship going, which is maybe more suited for brother and sister-in-law but I can see them working out. I once heard of Facilier x Wish Hook and I think that would be a pretty intregingly awesome pair!
My happily ever after for them:
In which, he does not die. So I’d like Regina to go back to her own time with the rest of the Hyperion Heights folks who traveled back in time. I know that’s difficult because she was crowned Queen of the United Realms, but let’s say she took a few years of. So she’d end up back in Hyperion Heights in her own time, only to find that things had changed because they’d meddled with the past. She’d learn that in this timeline, he was never killed. Also, in my hypothetic version of season 8 Gothel would be un-treeified and Jack would be alive, just so we could spend more time with the season 7 villains. Facilier would no longer be after the Dark One dagger but he’d be working with the good guys to try and take down the coven but he’d maybe be secretly working with Jack for his own means. Not very happy manybe, but I like the idea of him not being fully redeemed, at least not for a while. But they’d be happy in their own way. They’d get married and he’d be an awesome step-father to Henry. I’ve read a theory that he had a daughter who he was doing everything to be reunited with, so if they do exist, he’d be reunited with them.

@wicked-storybrooke Going off of your thoughts, “One minute it seems we're meant to believe that even the great height of the tower isn't enough distance (otherwise he could have spoken to her from there) and the next he's merely a few feet away from her in the letter scene. It could be that physical obstructions hinder the curse's full effects (e.g. "fewer trees and walls in our way")”, I feel the exact same way on the latter.
@fairytalepsuedonym gonna reach and try to rationalize the passing of the letter
I wonder if Gothel amplified Alice’s screams for help that sounded like deafening echoes for Killian to hear after he got tossed out, another form of torment. Wouldn’t put it past her as I still think what young Alice screamed was a bit ooc. I remember reading an Ouat blueprint on the tower being around 80 ft, a scaled drawing of Alice, the Troll, and the tower somewhere. I know from playing with my brothers in a forest/national park once, that across about 24 ft, we could yell at each other and hear the sound, but not make out a word. I think it’s easier to hear a person from above yelling down than it is from below, although the accuracy with nature is a confounding variable (i.e. wind, animals, bug noises, tree density).
The radius of the poisoned heart curse is another thing to factor. I agree with your headcanon, having also thought the same myself, that time + distance apart loosens the poisonous barrier temporarily. We can document 7x08, 10, 13, 20, 21, and 22 as clear indicators. I got long food for thought about this so it’s going under the break.
7x08
Killian and Alice reunite for the first time in ages, him magically younger and her all grown up. They get up the closest they’ve been in ages, maybe about two or three arms length away for caution and he’s fine. *cue cute hug that turns into dramatic whump and sadness* Alice couldn’t even stand the same meters away from him, and even while running away, he was still clutching his chest and screaming out in pain, groaning as the poison ravaged through his heart, restarting what he hadn’t felt in ages.
We see Killian later on a cot of warm furs in a tent, still weak and needing to be watched over. Alice is nowhere near, entirely in another realm and yet we can see how much their short embrace had cost him. He’s unable to move and seemingly strained in his efforts of just putting his thoughts together, barely mustering whispers as he clutched the White Knight chess piece Ella handed to him. In typical Jones fashion, he tries to be a fortitude of strength, stating that he’d “go through that pain a thousand times over, just to see her again.” I’d assume he was in bedrest for a week, even with healing magic used on him, grumbling that he was fine while his heart was permanently closer to the end of its lifespan.
7x10
Alice stands nearby, hiding behind a tree as he draws near, Rumple making light to her presence. The father and daughter are close once more, our timeline being at least over eight years since he had the poison reinvigorated drawing him back. I reckon they are no more than eight feet apart, but it’s the least of their concerns with the notion of a casted dark curse looming over them. They’ve corresponded so much over paper that Alice is empty handed for him. Killian manages to talk to her without immediately screaming out in pain as she exchanges worries and he comforts her. Robin’s special letter from Alice is passed, one where she dropped and made more distance as he picked it up and they went back to a tree in the way, them as parallel lines seesaw. Even in the dark midst, they still manage to bring light to the situation, hoping that with the curse, they’ll be able to meet again as Alice puts it, “With fewer trees and walls in the way.”
7x13 and 19
Tilly is entranced in a spell, unable to get free of the world changing casting and nor does she want to. Rogers tries to pull her away from the circle, knowing she would never want anything to do with it, being part of the Witch’s schemes. He even uses the word himself, having seen unexplainable things in the slums of the theater. He’s safe, protected by being in a world without magic, that is until he touches Tilly, the magical barrier broken and seeping into him enough magical particles to revitalize the poison in his heart. Rogers is drenched in pain, barely able to walk himself out of there, and that’s how strong the volatile curse is, an example of how it worked in our world.
When Killian and Alice are first cursed, her branded and him marked by the green glow on his chest, he still feels extreme pain after being teleported to the base of the tower, a distance away too. Probably the nicest thing Gothel ever did for him, ironically saving his life bc I don’t think he could, mentally or physically, have scaled the wall well in his crumpled painful state, tirelessly focused on breathing. We see Killian is barely able to stand, propped on his knees, where we can only assume he hobbled away in pain, making promises to himself and Alice that he’d be back. Clearly impossible as he could never find her again until after she had escaped.
7x20
They’re all awake after Henry and Regina’s parental TLK, but Killian took a stand by holding Alice’s hand and being by her side during the magical showdown with Gothel. Much as the man said Alice was “making him stronger”, we can see him resisting the phenomenal pain to give her courage to fight her very real nightmare. The toll leads to him being wheeled onto a gurney to the hospital, dispatched after some time as the doctors surely couldn’t do more than stabilize what probably seemed like a heart attack. Killian goes through a lot...
7x21 and 22
Survivor he may be, but he can’t deny that Lady Luck was on his side. Killian’s time was ticking and he knew it. The whump in this made my heart soar and cry. Henry knocking him out with a candelabra and Captain Floor returns, nearly freezing to death, ah, where were we? Right, Poison Heart Curse detectives we are here. ;) At the grand table, strategy planning room, there was no doubt that there was enough distance between him and Alice for the finale episodes. Heck, he gets freed from a winter landscape/snow globe conundrum only to get hit with poison from her just stepping a foot closer in the wide library room span.
So umm, yeah, Killian stands a distance away from the round table. Alice eventually joins a mission of what should have been just a trio team of him, Robin, and Henry, failing to be “good at keeping far away enough for safety”, a grimace on his face. 😐 Oh boy, this cannot be good as he struggles to fight and stand with Robin by his side later, Alice being far away with Henry to save Regina (at a dungeon in the middle of a forest?). Killian is full of sweat and worry, happy to give his blessing at Robin’s proposal to marry Alice, but he fears his life is at its end, believing his heart will give out before walking his little girl down the aisle. The last straw and burst of poison takes hold the moment he risks his life in the dark book, portal sucking scene, grabbing hold of Alice and making sure she never has to suffer a lonely fate of towers again. (It might have been an ice biome/Arendelle from the props but I’m disregarding that as a worst fate).
Thankfully, our Rumple values them over his own life, seeing it as a win win since he was ready to either be with Belle or have to repent in hell for his crimes. Killian gets revived and hugs his Starfish, rocking her gently. (I will never get over that we were robbed of this being longer than two secs and that change in dress up of them at Granny’s.) The Poisoned Heart Curse can haunt them no more.

Hook climbing the tower: I’ll get my revange on Crocodile! I’ll make him suffer! I’ll trick this Rapunzel-girl into thinking i’ll come back to save her but i won’t! And then i’ll get back to being the most villianous pirate in all the realms!
3 seconds later…
Hook: I HAVE A DAUGHTER! A REAL BREATHING LITTLE GIRL! Well, to hell with the revange. I’ll probably sell my ship - oh, i know, i’ll give it to Mr. Smee. And instead i’m going to sing my little Alice a lullaby!

A Matter of Fate
Since season 7 began I have always had this crazy theory that Wish Killian would find love with the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming from this new Enchanted Forest. @optomisticgirl ,here it is. There are CS references, for reasons, also knightrook and wonderarrow :)
This is unbeta’d so apologize in advance for all the mistakes.
@saraswans , thank you for everything.
Summary: After the curse is broken, Killian returns with Alice and Robin to the Enchanted Forest in search of a fresh start. One day, he meets a mysterious woman and learns that maybe fate has put her in his path for a reason.
Ffnet Ao3
While Killian waits at the counter of the tavern for their drinks to be served, his gaze drifts to the table in the back. His daughter and Robin are sitting side by side as they chat animatedly, their smiles bright, and a special glow in their eyes, getting his heart swell with pride and love.
He sometimes feels the need to pinch himself to make sure that what’s happening isn’t a dream from which he would wake up hours later, with his heart still poisoned and his soul charged with frustration and despair. But no, fortunately, everything is real now. He has finally been able to hold his daughter in his arms and, most importantly, she is happy. That’s the only thing that matter to him.
"She's your daughter, isn't she?"
An unknown female voice brings him back to reality. He turns his head curiously in search of the source of the sound. A woman, a beautiful woman, in fact, is standing by his side, a soft smile on her face and an enigmatic spark in her green eyes. The woman tilts her head slightly, pointing to the table where her daughter and Robin sat. "The blonde girl with blue eyes?"
Both girls are blondes with blue eyes, but, considering the woman's angle, she can only observe Alice's face. Not that there’s really a difference. From the moment when Robin and Alice fell in love, he felt that not only had he not lost a daughter but had won another one along the way. The woman doesn't need to know that, though, so he nods in response, unable to suppress the pride in his voice. "Aye, that she is."
Maybe he should feel uncomfortable with a woman who watches her daughter without restraint while her smile grows wider. Instead, he throws sidelong glances at her, studying her profile. She has her reddish hair pulled back in a long braid that falls over her right shoulder. Her clothes are plain, but he can detect a glimpse of regal elegance in her demeanor. She may be able to deceive other people by pretending to be someone she is not, but not him. There is something more hidden under those peasant clothes and he suddenly finds himself wanting to find out the mystery.
The woman turns her head back, her gaze now looking for his. "She's beautiful, and she seems happy." There's a melodious cadence in her voice, which together with the growing sparkle in her eyes, manages to distract him. "She looks like you."
A sudden heat creeps up to his cheeks, making him blush at the veiled compliment. She is flirting with him, he can say, even though he has lost practice in this regard. But the look she gives him from under her long lashes and the way she licks her lips don't go unnoticed by this old pirate.
He had forgotten how it felt to be the recipient of such compliments but he masks those feelings by bringing up his old friend, the sassy pirate who has always been hidden among layers of revenge, frustration, and suffering.
"I'll take that as a compliment, love." He arches an eyebrow seductively. While speaking, he takes a step forward and offers his hand to the unknown woman. "Killian Jones, at your service." She tilts her head slightly, her smile doesn't disappear from her lips, a shadow of interest causes the brightness of her gaze to increase. She extends her hand and he takes it, bringing it to his lips and pressing a soft kiss on her knuckles, his gaze never leaving hers.
"I know who you are. It's a pleasure to meet you finally, Killian." He holds her hand for a few more seconds, studying her face, confused by her words. He feels a tug on his stomach, a small flutter so subtle that in other circumstances it would have gone unnoticed. But he has spent hundreds of years thinking that he would never feel anything like that again, so it's a little shock to notice how that spark ignites inside and threatens to spread throughout his body if this unknown woman doesn't stop looking at him with those mysterious green eyes so penetrating.
She finally withdraws her hand and, before he can react, she is already leaving. He wants to stop her, a need to see that smile once again takes hold of him, but instead, he remains paralyzed, not knowing how to react. "I'm Anna, by the way." The last thing he sees, before she turns to the door, is a brilliant flash of white teeth and curved lips.
He is still confused when he arrives at the table holding the drinks, feeling a slight dizziness that prevents him from realizing at first that Alice and Robin are no longer looking at each other but at him. It’s not until he sits down that he manages to get out of his reverie and finds himself with two pairs of blue eyes looking at him with a funny expression.
"What?" "Nothing." The two lasses respond in unison maybe too fast. They throw sidelong glances at each other as they press their lips together as if they want to suppress a smile. He doesn't care that his girls have fun with him, though. He would do anything to make sure that Alice's smile lingers on her lips. "I know your nothing, so, do you care to enlighten your old father about what's so funny?" "You're grinning." It's Robin who speaks first. "I do grin quite frequently, thank you very much." He furrows his brow, pretending to feel a little offended by that statement. "And you seemed a little... stunned?" Now it is Alice who continues. "Yep, awestruck, I would say." Both look at each other before starting giggling at his expense.
"But you did it fine, Papa. I must say I'm impressed, I had never witnessed your flirting skills before." Alice extends her arm from the other side of the table, giving his hand a light squeeze.
It's true. His life in recent years has been a continuous sprint, raising his daughter trapped in a tower while trying unsuccessfully to save her. Later, running desperate trying to find a cure for his poisoned heart. Then working with the resistance, and helping Henry and his family. Then cursed and finally trying to adapt to this new life... He hasn't had time, nor desire to flirt. He feels his cheeks flush again at the thought, as he begins to scratch behind his ear. "I ... I wasn't flirting." He doesn't even know why he denies it. He shouldn't feel uncomfortable talking about these things with his daughter. There are no secrets between them. But this is something so new that he is not sure how to handle it.
"Of course you were." Their voices sound in unison, while both roll their eyes at the same time. He cannot decide if he finds this rapport between them adorable or a little irritating. Irritatingly adorable. That is. "But since you seem a bit out of practice, maybe we could give you a little push." Alice offers through a naughty smile.
"Yes, because it just so happens that we know that woman, or rather her story. So, do you want us to tell you a tale, Killian?"
They have managed to catch his interest. There is something in that woman, a halo of mystery surrounding her that has activated something in him. So of course, he is more than willing to listen to her story. He leans back in his seat, his hook resting on the table while waving his hand towards them. "Okay, I'm all ears."
Alice nods subtly as she glances at Robin before she starts talking. "She is not who she says she is, although I suppose that, given how perceptive you are, you have already realized it. She is bored with her life devoid of emotion, so from time to time, she hides under those peasant clothes and visits taverns, the docks, even she has also been seen walking alone through the woods."
"It's not clear what she is looking for." Robin continues. "Some say she's looking for new experiences, for adventures, others say she's looking for her soulmate."
"Indeed," Alice adds. "Her parents have already given up after she has rejected her countless suitors. She seems tough and demanding, but we believe that deep down, she is a romantic person, who just wants to find her true love."
They pause for a moment while exchanging glances that would melt the heart of the most imperturbable person. It's Robin who continues with the story, looking for his gaze now, as if the following words were addressed to him. "There's another version of this woman. She's from ... another place. This other woman had a much harder life than your mysterious lass. She grew up alone, with no family, but eventually, she did find her family. She also found her true love in a somewhat unexpected way. Everything seemed to be against them, but they fought for their love and they won. This woman thinks that if her other version has managed to experience true love, maybe there is someone there waiting for her. That's why she keeps seeking."
"She is a princess, like her other version." For some reason, before Alice continues, he begins to notice a buzz of recognition in his mind. His heart beats hard against his rib cage, and his stomach clenches in knots, with the anticipation of what comes next. "She is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming."
The realization of what all that means falls over him leaving him speechless, a slight dizziness appears again until almost leaving him dazed, but not enough to hear the last sentence of his daughter. She offers him a reassuring smile, while she squeezes his hand again. "Maybe it's fate. Maybe any version of Captain Killian Jones is destined to find his soulmate in the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming."
"And maybe Anna, the princess you just met, has already finished her search." Now it’s Robin who gives him an encouraging smile.
Despite his initial shock, that little flame that had ignited before has become a suffocating fire inside. He was no longer open to love, he had convinced himself that love was not in his cards, that he was perfectly happy now that he had his daughter by his side, a few faithful friends, a family. But suddenly, the idea of experiencing something similar to what his other version has experienced is too tempting. He almost feels the need to go after that woman and find out for himself if all this is true. But something tells him that it's not necessary to hurry. She has found him and he is sure that she will find him again.
Maybe it's a matter of fate after all.
Thanks for reading :)
