Meet Kudos the Kobold! 🦎🍳🔥

I finally managed to wiggle my way into a Dungeons and Dragons group and I wanted to play a little guy!

Hopefully a lot of fun shenanigans ensue.

Escape By Daylight! Recently we've been playing an Eldritch horror survival oneshot turned mini D&D campaign! Fighting zombies, tentactley things, and even more terrifying things, will our party survive? This is a little gift to my fellow party members! Let's not TPK!

I feel like I made a bit of a mess of drawing today, but, but here is our fifth biweekly beholder. Thimnoll here also has the distinction of being the first of the biweekly beholders to have a central eye effect that isn't antimagic cone.

Physical characteristics:

Body diameter: 5 and 1/2 feet.

Skin color: Purple-blue.

Skin texture: Plated.

Eye color: red.

Iris shape: Hourglass.

Central eye size: Average.

Stalk eye size: 75% average.

Eye stalk texture: Smooth.

Eye stalk shape: Thick and short.

Mouth size/shape: Large/wide.

Teeth shape: Thick and pointed.

Personality traits: I am weary of frequent interruptions. I sometimes fear that I am a flawed abomination.

Ideals: Stability. Greed.

Bond: I miss the kinship of my identical twin who disappeared years ago.

Flaw: I usually ignore advice from my minions.

Eye rays: stun cone, banishment ray, circle of death ray, eyebite ray, polymorph ray, moonbeam ray, silence ray, wall of ice ray, misty step ray, bestow curse ray, and geas ray.

Lesser minions: 4 kobold inventors, 4 kobold scale sorcerors, and 107 kobolds.

Ekrius - my dnd character in our Friday game. Hes a shifter ranger with dog ears & a tail.

Sonja - my genshin impact OC. She's an anemo claymore from Mondstadt.

Ari - my dnd character from the Saturday game. Hes an owlin sorceror.

Casseus - my dnd character from a halloween oneshot. He's a Giff (hippo-person) gunslinger who uses a hunting rifle.

Harley - anthro maned wolf. Pretty much just a normal person.

Iados - my dnd character from a Halloween oneshot. Hes a tiefling bard.

Sylva - my dnd character from the Thursday game. She's a tabaxi ranger.

Zook - my former character from the Friday game, before Ekrius. He was a gnome artificer who piloted a mech-suit. He is currently a researcher at the Garivian Institute.

Stabby - my character from a Monday game which is currently on pause. Hes a kobold rogue.

Owen - my character from a past dnd game. He was a human druid.

Yipa - my other character from a related past dnd game. She was a byroc (homebrew race : think fox-people) ranger.

Solux - my dnd character from a past game also related to the previous two. She was a lizardfolk cleric. No she was not related in any way to the homestuck character. I did not know that homestuck existed when I made her.

My fakemon - Combateon, Veeveeon, and unnamed sprigatito and fuecoco evolutions.

im playing a kobold draconic sorceror who is one of my previous campaigns mid level boss enemies. we're playing 100 years after the previous setting, and he's this feral hedonistic megalamanic ancient red dragon but reborn into the body of a tiny frail puppy lizard. its great and currently no one has clocked thats what me and the dm have done

Everift - Chapter 20:

I found it in the ghost dimension

This weekend in D&D, we returned to the world of Everift. Last time we saw our heores, they had just escaped a horde of militant Kobolds and the Undead accompanying them via a portal through time and space. (Read Chapter 19)

The party find themselves in a ruined hallway somewhere within the prison of Iron Bar Island, the location that triggered the sequence of events of this entire adventure. And by the sounds of groaning off in the distance, it seems the zombie outbreak that allowed their escape from the island has just happened. The party start to investigate the area, finding that although this looks like the right place, it may not be a the real deal. Arabella's Eldritch Sight reveals that every brick, every iron bar, every particles of air in the vicinity, is magical. It seems they have arrived in a plane unlike they one they're familiar with. A magical shadow of their memories.

Specific investigation of the space leads the party to find a blue gooey substance coating some surfaces, and on some walls, even painted into the shape of the Death Tyrant, a sigil synonymous with the forces of darkness to the party. They soon find themselves in a room resembling a study, and a desk topped with some sort of mechanical device. Nevaeh finds a small magical jewel, fits it into the device, and it glows. Arabella touches the jewel and falls unconscious.

From her allies' perspective, Arabella appears to have died. To her, she has entered a ghostly imitation of the room, and sees her own body across from her. In a panic, Arabella dives into her body and gasps alive again. Once she describes the experience to her friends, Nevaeh quickly grasps the jewel and is thrust from her own body. Meredith follows suit.

Nevaeh and Meredith explore the ghost world version of the space to find certain things appear different. Arabella, and Lehran soon follow. The way forward from here is barred by the inscription: "Venture to the other side, and return victorious". After staying for most of a minute in this dimension, a painfully throbbing makes Nevaeh decide to return to her body. Meredith, sensing this throbbing too, also returned.

Lehran and Arabella interpreted the clue "return victorious" as an endurance test, choosing to try to endure the throbbing. Until they feel their very souls begin to tear. The pair return to their bodies and they've become physically injured by this ordeal. Meredith has spotted some zombies approaching. Roll initiative.

A short combat sequence later, Meredith and Nevaeh have made a big mess, via magical sword and explosive magic respectively. Their actions have attracted the attention of a creature in the ghostly dimension, who they cannot perceive initially, but after another play with the ghostifying gem, Nevaeh sees the spirit of a Dragonborn Sorceror stuck in a cell. With Meredith's help, they open this cell in the real world, allowing the Dragonborn to move about, but the party still don't see him in the real world. In the ghost dimension they also find a magic artefact, and this removes the aforementioned magic barrier.

The party, ghost dragonborn included, explore more of the ruined prison. A disembodied, perhaps Dwarvish voice tells them about his research in this place between worlds, and that if they find his lab, there's some helpful stuff there. Around the rooms, they also find blueprints of various magic items, but not all the materials needed to make them.

This voice clearly sees the dragonborn, and tells him that his chances of returning to the main realm via his body (like Nevaeh and the others have been doing), would be difficult given that the dragonborn has been dead for months. However, elsewhere in the prison, there are "flesh puppets", empty bodies with no souls, that the dragonborn ghost could use.

The ghost dragonborn and the party coordinate in and out of the ghost dimension to solve a couple puzzles, and eventually find themselves at a sort of mad scientist lab. In the lab they find books about the ghost dimension, some corpses, and importantly, one of those fangled flesh puppets. The dragonborn ghost possesses one of them and its shape crackles and morphs into the shape of his previous body, large black cape included. He finally introduces himself as Arturim, dark servant to Lord Caeldrom Persis (Lehran's awful father).

While this happens Nevaeh decides to animate some of these other corpses, bringing a pair of zombies along for the ride. The party discover another blue ghostifying gem and in the ghost version of the room, there's a ghost married couple arguing over lack of business. Nevaeh inquires and finds that they could help complete some of the blueprints they've found, so long as we find the pieces.

And that is where this very long session ended.

So I haven't gone in on party comp predictions at all for CR3 but I just so sincerely hope that Travis plays a tiny gremlin, just a little bastard fellow

7. How do you go about making a character or NPC? My usual system is to pick two traits that seem like theyd clash and then find a way to make them work in one character, like the best example is my wild magic sorceror with the bureaucrat background :)

31. Tell me about your current party! Im in a few active campaigns rn so for the one i played most recently weve got me playing Maris, a high elf paladin of umberlee who was the middle sibling in an upper class family and was basically sent away to the temple for being a troublemaker and threatening the family image, so when they graduated they just fled the city to do their own thing. P quickly they ran into Fresh The Not Chosen, a purple tiefling fighter who was a chosen protector of their home village until the title was taken and given to their sibling Sick The Not Not Chosen,who has also joined our group now. Fresh is like. Himbo King and best buds w Maris, and Sick is a lot more serious, but both of them had a pretty tense rship for a while until they worked through a lot of things abt how they were raised. We had with us a kobold bardbarian who was just a delight but recently died, so now weve got Delphine, a mysterious assassin who always covers her face w a porcelain mask and we dont know much abt her yet. And finally hes not with the party anymore bc he retired as an adventurer to be the sherriff of a town we helped free from the Bbeg, but there was Magnus, an elf ranger with a shady criminal history he was trying to redeem himself from and kind of became a defacto father figure to the rest of us 🥺.

We also have a baby beholder named Beyossum whos just the cutest and we love him :)

My Critical Role Campaign 3 Character Predictions

So I had a dream the other night about the campaign three characters, specifically their introductions, and while I highly doubt that this will be how it goes, I still wanted to share what they were in the dream cause I thought they were interesting and kinda funny in places and also cause sharing this has been on my to-do list for like a week.

So here's my crack!Campaign 3 predictions!

Liam: Bugbear Druid - Liam went first in introductions again, and they were meeting with some kind of shaman-ish lady and having tea with her before it zoomed out and we saw his character. Kinda low intelligence from how this character spoke/acted, from what I could gather.

Marisha: Lizardfolk Wizard - Marisha was playing this very short-ish lizardfolk, about the size of a human toddler (I thought it was a kobold at first, but then dream!Marisha specifically said 'lizardfolk' so there). I don't remember much about this character except that they were dressed in kind of a monk-looking robe, was chasing or talking to a butterfly, and seemed a little on the young-ish side, and Marisha was breaking out a Spurt-ish voice, maybe as a joke because this voice didn't stick for the entire dream.

Ashley: Dragonborn Monk - I don't remember a lot about this character beyond the fact that they were a blue dragonborn (with a tail, since that's an important distinction in Exandria) and spoke in Ashley's voice, and that's all I got from them.

Sam: Kobold Sorceror - Also not a lot from this character but it was definitely Sam's voice, not as Spurt-y as Marisha but still definitely leaning in that direction, and kinda refined in how they were acting.

Laura: Tabaxi Bard - Also not a lot from this character except their voice was more like Vex but with Jester's humor and also some self-deprecation in there, and they had some kind of stringed instrument.

Travis: Tiefling Rogue - I remember seeing a gray-skinned tiefling with very simple horns (kinda Maleficent-style) and speaking in Travis's voice, and that's it about them.

Taliesin: Taliesin's character was unrevealed! What I remember about the dream is that the rest of the group entered this ancient, ransacked, run-down library, and after a few minutes of exploring it Taliesin's character spoke from 'off-camera', if you will, and then it cut to something else and I didn't get to see his character.

BONUS Ashly Burch: In the dream, Ashly was also there! She was playing a human artificer, and from what I remember they were wearing a long head covering/veil over their hair and seemed kind of Romani-inspired in their outfit and overall design, and they were entering some kind of arena on horseback.

BONUS Sam de Leve: Sam de Leve, who is an absolutely awesome Geek & Sundry contributor and one of my favorite roleplayers, was also there! They were playing a human paladin decked out in full white-gold armor from what I could see, but I didn't get a ton of information on their character beyond the fact that they were entering the arena area together with Ashly's character.

MATT BONUS: At the end of the first episode, Sam asked Matt if they could expect a story more like campaign one or more like campaign two for this campaign and all that Matt said was "No." with no further elaboration.

So anyway, there's my weird dream/crack predictions for Critical Role Campaign 3, probably none of it is gonna happen but I can (literally) dream and it was interesting and kinda fun to dream about!
