Cale and the lcf crew got kidnapped (lol) to react to cale (not)hero life.

Suddenly the door was opened by someone on the outside. A muscular man with a lot of scars came in while talking on something the crew doesnt recognize, except for the two person in the room. It seems like the man still doesnt notice them until he closed the door...and turned around.

Cue kim roksoo walking in on them and not noticing until it's too late. Cale and kim roksoo's eyes clashed, but our team leader wore the 'i-dont-know-you-im-just-a-stranger' mask, smile, bow and apologize politely(formally) to them before excusing himself to leave. He turned and twisted the doorknob...

IT DOESNT BUDGE.

He tried another door...it doesnt budge.

He faced them and with a polite smile, asked for the key so that he can leave and wont bother them anymore.

The answer of course, none. Nobody can open the door except the god.

The smile doesnt fall, everyone pitied the man who got stuck with them.

...Until that said man pulled out a fucking rifle (still with the unchanging smile of course).

How do you interpret US Papyrus? I'm always curious how others interpret him because there's a good range of them!

Ooh, in general?? Hm, I guess mostly the way I try to interpret him is sort of like if you gave UT Papyrus chronic fatigue and issues tied to having to act as the judge in his world! Which, to me, basically makes him very silly, kind, sassy, but also very insecure and very lonely.

I should explain- ough this is gunna be an essay so there'll need to be a readmore soon aha, but I should explain how the whole "judge" thing usually works in my interps!

It's not an inherent thing, or some "angel given" power, there has always been an acting Royal Judge, someone the crown had appointed that they felt they could, well, trust the judgement of, who they could consult about crimes and justice and whatnot. The prior judge Fell some years ago, but since Toriel/Asgore had already left, Asgore/Toriel never appointed another, as a sort of self punishment as well as a promise they would continue with their task of collecting the human souls without the assistance (or interference) of someone else.

That was until Sans/Papyrus came along. The "judging" effect was caused by one of the many methods Gaster used to make the brothers, involving the justice soul trait. This is where the KR came from, as well as the unique ability to "see" the sins in others' souls. After discovering this unique ability, eventually the king/queen asks Sans/Papyrus to act as the new judge (as well as some other reasons that vary depending on AU).

Now, the kr and "judge" ability manifested in Stretch much later than the sanses in non-swapped AUs, which made it a much more difficult transition that only made it much harder for him to socialize with others. He basically couldn't "turn it off", which, on top of feeling incredibly guilty about the invasion of privacy, made him feel anxious and stressed out and couldn't help but put the negative thoughts front and center in his attention, making him also feel like those were the most prominent thoughts and feelings of those around him.

So like, you know how anxiety and self image issues make you feel like everyone secretly hates you or finds you annoying or etc etc etc, basically, he had "proof" that was true, and despite trying his best to ignore it, things are already hard enough for a pre-teen/teen, on top of his physical health taking such the dip it did around that time, too, he quickly became anxiety riddled, isolated, and miserable.

Before then, he was actually a lot like Rus (UT) when he was a kid! And it was hard on Blue, too, since he was practically just a teen himself, so for all of that to land on his brother as well as needing to work harder to take care of him when he had bad health flares, things were rough for a while there.

That being said, Blue did help in keeping Stretch's mental health from completely plummeting, always trying to keep his mood up, encouraging him, trying to find him friends (how he met Undyne aka Sylv!), etc etc, and the brothers grew a lot closer in that time, as Stretch had always admired Blue, and it meant a lot to him.

That was until, of course, things never got any better. His health continued to decline into older teendom/young adulthood, and there was some personal drama here and there, especially involving Sylv, and when Blue joined the guard, that was the last straw. Stretch was sick of feeling like such a burden on everyone, so even though he'd initially turned Toriel down to act as judge (knowing his brother absolutely hated that she'd even asked him in the first place), he went back to her and accepted. That was really when the distance between the brothers started, which wasn't helped by the resets starting up soon thereafter.

(Quick aside, as he got older, he did get the hang of controlling his "judging" ability, and "turning it off" is no longer an issue for him later on)

So in his efforts to become more independent, he worked a lot on his social life and how to interact with others and make himself well liked. Sure, maybe he doesn't really have any real friends, and people forget his name all the time, but he'd finally learned how to utilize his heightened intuition to get along with people, rather than weird them out.

He’s still riddled with anxiety and self worth issues, but he’s gotten incredibly good at masking, and typically comes off as very relaxed and friendly. He’s a big fan of wordplay and very mild practical jokes (like those types of gags where you put on Groucho Marx glasses and pretend to be someone else. Blue always plays along for the bit), but he has a tendency to hold people at arms length, and tries to avoid others actually getting to know him.

Very few people know he’s the judge, and he prefers it that way, he'd rather everyone underestimate him so he never disappoints. That being said, he does still make quite an effort to help those around him without their knowledge, and he’s still lowkey very interested in engineering and computer science. Him and Rus are definitely two peas in a pod when it comes to interests, they could talk about comics for hours on end, but the primary difference is that Stretch tries much harder to hide how much he cares, where as Rus will shout it from the rooftops.

I'm not a big fan of the characterizations that make him a huge brat, sometimes even an outright jerk, I don't really understand them since neither Sans nor Papyrus are like that, but w/ my guy, he’s definitely a huge dork and sweetheart, who just also happens to be very sassy at times ahdjfjsksk

He also still holds on to his belief in others, like Rus. Even despite literally knowing better, he’s also been proven right too many times to lose that hope, which is why, in his fight, as opposed to UT Sans, he gets very quiet and looks miserable. He genuinely doesn't want to hurt them, but he knows he’s out of options. When he offers an out before the fight, he won't spring a surprise attack, and just offers a genuine hug. The player doesn't get a choice after accepting, they kill him, and his final words are pretty similar to Rus' about knowing they can do better, and he believes in them anyway, though he makes a comment about that sounding pretty stupid with a laugh before he collapses off screen.

WOW this got longer than I meant it to I'm sorry huge lore drop instead of just general facts ough BUT ! Idk, hopefully this gives a half decent feel for how I interpret him! I love him a lot I'm mixing him into a salad like a crouton <3

Needed to remember the rules when watching Sentai, KR and Ultramen.

Treated the new season as its own separate species. Do not compared it to their seniors. Otherwise, you would never enjoy the new show.

I think the staff and director were well aware of this too and tried so hard to make themselves different from King-Ohger.

The beginning reminded me of J-drama from early 00s for some reason.

Then, the villains came and I was reminded that this was tokusatsu.

I wondered if those three going to defect to the heroes’ side later or continued to be the villains.

Their attempt to make Mira different from self-assured Queen Himeno ended up reminded me of Asuna and Haruka. Though Mira was a better driver than Haruka by a mile wide.

I did not dislike that personality though.

King-Ohger taught children how to be a good leader.

This season taught children to take charge of their own life.

I did not watch Carranger or Go-Onger, but from what I glimpsed from Gokaiger tribute episodes and my experienced in watching Kiramager, all vehicle-themed Sentai were crazy.

Compared to them, this one seemed a bit sane, but it was just the first episode.

Tarou and Taiya were deliverymen. Will we get a TTFC special where they competed with each other?

I looked forward to the character-centric episodes. With their personalities, it was sure to be interesting.

The way in every answer you destroy kr gives me life everytime, thank you😍im honestly tired of people justify her because eddie is in a trauma response!! They didn't notice it will play for laugh? So there's no deep meaning, but another way for the het queen to distance buddie even more than in 6a. Lol. In my defense, I was tipsy and half asleep. But also I just don't have a lot of patience for people who are literally getting paid to do a thing and then publicly go around talking about how bad they are at the thing! Like girl, if you can't think of another emergency to do in California (LITCHERALLY they haven't even done a big wildfire for OG), and if you think a musical episode is a good idea specifically so you don't have to keep coming up with so much plot, MAYBE this isn't the job or at least the show for you?!

Amature writers, young people in their late teens and early twenties in the middle of the school year, and adults in their thirties and forties with full time jobs and families are out here with legitimately BRILLIANT ideas for how a storyline could go that fits the characters and their arcs and ties the firefam in even closer within MINUTES of information dropping. How can you, as your only job and with a whole team of writers, not come up with anything? Not DO anything with the scenes you yourself set up? Not understanding the driving force behind your characters actions? Understand what the audience loves after 5 full seasons of a show? My brother in christ this is all LITERALLY your job.

The way she picks things that actually, legitimately, could pack an emotional punch and really push arcs along and be so interesting but instead treats them like a joke while pulling THEE most random, OOC drama out of her behind to drag out for ages instead (until it gets cut or changed because it's being dragged to filth by the entire audience), is going to be my villain origin story.

And the way she criminally underutilizes characters is so frustrating! Eddie had basically nothing going on in 6a, neither did Bobby until 6x09, Chim and Maddie's stuff happened almost entirely off screen, Athena's big episode happened and then literally never came up again or affected a single other thing or lead to any conversations or had any ramifications, ad the less said about how the sperm donor thing was handled the better. Basically only Hen and Buck had something consistently going on and even that was Buck's stuff getting treated like a joke and not actually going anywhere. We're getting a lot NOW but so much of this could have been spread out or lead up to this! Give me the Madney couples therapy! Give me Wendall's introduction in 6x01 and keep him in the audience's mind so 6x09 actually means something. Give Eddie SOMETHING to do after his storyline literally saved s5 and was the only consistently praised arc all season. Give Buck something to do that isn't about these rando white women trying to get into his pants!

Anyway, I shouldn't answer asks when I'm hungry but here you go I guess! Lets all manifest that 6b continues being better and be thankful that the cast are as good as they are and give amazing performances even when they're not being supported by the arcs being set for them.

Ok so very very dumb half-asleep not serious at all AU idea for JL getting de-aged by the Light in YJ...just Superman gets aged back to ‘Smallville’ era and Lex is suddenly having to deal with feelings again and very awkward as suddenly all the rest of light know he and Clark used to be friends...

no there’s nothing more, no he is not in denial! No matter what other people now keep saying and it was for purely scientific reasons he chose to be the other donor for his son HE MEANS PROJECT KR!

Lex is so deep in denial and Queen Bee/others are now suddenly very invested in the drama.

But also...Bruce is de-aged to child/teenager and suddenly the Light is having to deal with little chaos gremlin Bruce who keeps stealing weapons and breaking their computers and somehow became friends with Klarion? No one’s sure how they met but they did and are suddenly just causing problems on purpose...but just the pettiest form of chaos and pranks...

Nabu is covered in glitter bombs and there’s a horde of super intelligent and he suspects immortal octopuses in his tower hiding in most of his magical artefacts…and he’d honestly prefer a natural disaster to deal with at this point.

Vandal is so done with this shit and is calling the Justice League after the first 24 hours like ‘Please...come pick up these 2 and get them back to an age where they’re bearable...PLEASE’

My Captive Prince hot take is that reputation by Taylor Swift is entirely about Laurent & Damen. All the songs fit perfectly.

This post I’m doing ‘Call It What You Want’ and captive prince parallels!!

Call It What You Want

Before I go into this, I have to mention, this song must have been Laurent’s internal dialogue before king’s meet - literally every single line! But I love the bridge and some of the verses because they capture Laurent’s many nuances perfectly and that’s What I’m highlighting here. Enjoy. I threw in some other non-KR metaphors for the lines too, just for fun.

Here we go. *take one breath for emotional support*

1. I mean the verse below really capture Damen & Laurent throughout the trilogy but more so during king's rising, and in karthas, when all of the shit regent pulled in Ios (the lies about Laurent’s apparent treachery and Damen’s patricide (!)) were brought to their attention with a herald. They were alone but had only each other when the world started calling them liars. Then damen was just like.. “fuck the regent and kastor, call it what you want bitches. We are the rightful kings of akielos and vere.”

I like to think Laurent went to sleep that night in Damen’s arms humming this verse. :’)

“My castle crumbled overnight, I brought a knife to a gunfight

(funny how this line works on two levels, for Damen losing ios when he was sold to slavery and Laurent losing vere and everything else when auguste dies)

They took the crown, but it's alright, all the liars are calling me one

(well, pretty much the karthas court scene)

Nobody's heard from me for months, I'm doing better than I ever was, 'cause..

(cause you were protecting Damen on the pretence of “border duty in delfeur”!! And well, we know why you were doing better)

2. This is probably my favourite part of this parallel, it’s just so soft and pure and soooo Laurent. Especially when you think of the night they spent in Mellos (forget about the fact that he was going to sacrifice himself for a minute, please.)

(this pretty much surmised Laurent’s character arc)

Windows boarded up after the storm, he built a fire just to keep me warm/I'm laughing with my lover, making forts under covers

(this is very interesting, ‘cause I think this goes well with the narration for the Mellos inn scene in the book too. Pacat also talks about the hostile akielos landscape outside, but inside that inn room with the fire and the bedding, they were safe from the storm)

All the drama queens taking swings, all the jokers dressin' up as kings, 

(Looking at you Regent, Kastor, Guion, Aimeric, in some ways Jokaste, etc.)

And I know I make the same mistakes every time, bridges burn, I never learn, at least I did one thing right

(This is again so on par with the fucking narration. Remember that time Laurent told Damen he isn’t used to his uncle miscalculating, like Laurent is used to losing/making the same mistakes/being predicatble.. and then Damen just shows up out of no where to be the ‘one thing that Laurent does right’. I don’t know if I’m more emotional about Lamen or Taylor swift or perhaps both. And also, fun side note, Laurent tells Damen this and Damen just carefully extracts himself away from that situation, like, okay Laurent, gotta go do some repairs. Lol.)

3. The metaphor for the cuffs that they wear throughout KR:

“I want to wear his initial

4. This part was also perfectly captures the essence of the dialogue in KR…the part where Damen asks Laurent to come to the Summer Palace with him and holds his breath waiting for Laurent to say something. (And grins like the love sick fool he is :’) ) also, he is just so sure they’d win? like they didn’t have to save his fucking child who was captive with the Regent!? Like okay Damen, we get that you are big and strong but chill with the getaway plans.

Hello! Do you have any TCF fic recs?

Unfortunately I do not have an extensive list of TCF fics to recommend because TCF is one of the rare few fandoms I’m still navigating myself trying to find what really is my jam. I don’t particularly ship anyone at the moment (hahaha oh the irony of being a reader imagine writer) and so you’ll find that all the fics recommended lean more towards character studies and platonic relationships than romance. Because honestly, those are the fics that I’ll always dig. ( ´ ▽ ` ).｡ｏ♡

and so without further ado.. my list...

“and so he coughs flowers made out of blood” by @sudenishindeiru (AO3) immediately comes to mind when someone asks me for TCF fic recs. Anyone who is a fan of the Hanahaki disease trope will definitely enjoy this fic. For those new to the trope, it’s literally a disease that takes form when the victim suffers from one-sided love. Cale our drama queen loves taking things to the next level and is actually dying because he can’t get his slacker life. It sounds like crack-fic but it’s not. It’s a deep and moving study into KRS’s character and how he pushes through the pain of distancing himself from his dreams to make the world a slightly better place. It’s truly a poetic piece and everyone should read it. And no worries. Cale gets his happy ending.

“Hello Author, NPC Cale is Suffering“ also by sudenishindeiru is a more lighthearted piece and on the fun side. If you know Pokemon then you’ll also enjoy this cute crossover fic where Cale transmigrates into the game as a NPC and still struggles to find a peaceful life.

Honestly, I’d recommend any TCF fics by sudenishindeiru! They have great writing style and have many amazing TCF fic ideas rolling about on their blog.

“Found Family” by @o0phylyra0o (AO3) is a short oneshot piece that can be treated as a character study of Kim Rok Soo. Just the right amount of angst and fluff that’s easy to read.

I rarely read AO3 fics that aren’t completed but I’ve come across @pendwelling‘s (AO3) fic “frame the halves and call them brothers” which is a retelling of TCF with both OG!Cale and KRS!Cale as twin brothers. Their characterisation is on-point and I’m looking forward to seeing where they’ll take the story. (not only can they write but they also draw???? what more can you really ask for honestly? godsend to the fandom)

If you’re waiting for Reader Insert recommendations.. unfortunately one of the reasons why I have started writing for TCF was because I couldn’t find any Reader Inserts for TCF ( ╥ω╥ ) please tell me if you guys know of any other tcf reader insert writers

I just wonder: why the hell they put everything we see on the show if they weren't going to do anything about it? This is so frustrating, so disappointing, they destroyed one of my favorite series. For me this series ended in episode 10 of season 3. For me, all that matters is Red and Liz from the first seasons. And of course the fanfictions, especially Foundational Elements (it was one of the first a read and I'll never forget how beautiful it is)... (sorry for the outburst and for my english)

I’m disappointed too Anon. Very disappointed. And that’s a feeling that has little to do with shipping at the moment. I posted something on twitter and the gist was basically me believing Red when he told Lizzy they’d make a great team. Or being 1000% on board when he placed the bet on the long play, the future. When Lizzy said we can do this you and I, Red lost all argument and I cheered and cheered. So yeah I’m disappointed because Lizzy called Red her friend and actually Red said the same. I believed that was actual character development even with all their ups and downs and s2 angst because by the time Lizzy left the jail and walked across the street to meet Red I knew in my heart they were friends, partners (basically married I’m a shipper after all) and the future looked so bright.

And it’s a bitter BITTER pill to choke down looking back at the past 4 seasons of fake death, Tom, wonky DNA, daddygate, Darth Kirk, jar jar Jennifer, prison, near execution, Katarina and Lizzy dramatically staring at the DC skyline like she’s the super hero in this melodrama when really she’s just a drama queen at this point. I used to love her. I still do on principle which is why I don’t want to see her end up with the Most Boring Boy Scout. I don’t know why we’ve arrived at this point Anon. We were promised a “great team” and we have Red vs Liz. We were hooked by a Christmas Eve mythology and a fire and Red’s family and now it’s all about KR. They baited and switched us about the time they chose to keep Tom and I guess there’s no coming back from it.

There are so many ways this show could’ve made me happy these last seasons which mostly involve Red and Liz vs Tom/Kirk/Jennifer/KR. I wanted them on the same side and would’ve been fine with a platonic relationship or ambiguity which is a lot of fun and can stretch things out a bit. But no they couldn’t even give us that. I have not much hope left to waste on s8 and few fucks to give in regards to the mythology. There is just the tiniest wish Red makes it out of the finale alive and rides off into the sunset with Dembe.

I may rant about the show but AU Red and Lizzy are The OTP. They own my soul and I will always be grateful they came along when they did and will think of them fondly somewhere looking up at the night sky, searching out Polaris and pointing it out to their daughter Agnes. It doesn’t matter where they are as long as they are out of reach of the writer’s room, I know they’re safe and happy. And like you said we will always have Lizzington through 3.10. 001.  //  she was born and raised in seoul, kr on 08.29.1999 —— making her a virgo && an earth rabbit as far as zodiac signs are concerned. she’s the youngest child in her family, as well as the only daughter / sister, so she’s been waited on hand && foot since birth. as she grew up, she was treated like such a princess that it made her head swell, && by the time she started school, she began referring to herself as ❝ class queen. ❞ while her teachers && parents tried to nip this in the bud right away, she didn’t ever really learn her lesson in the behavioral management class they signed her up for, so needless to say, she kept up this attitude for the remainder of her grade school years. in middle school, she studied overseas in the usa, && despite being the new girl, she was quick to join the ❝ popular ❞ group at her school. while in the west, she took up cheerleading, drama club, && the student council, && at age fourteen, when she moved back to korea, she planned on pursuing a career in media && marketing, but that didn’t exactly go as planned.  002.  //  her older brother ( shoutout to you, @fmdsamsoo ) started training at dimensions entertainment, && since he’s kind of the only one of her brothers she truly loves, she supported him in every way, && always has. one day, chaesoo decided to surprise him by taking him his very lunch to training, but she got confused on the way there && ended up arriving at bc entertainment by mistake. while there, she was scouted on the spot, && when her audition was successful, she started to train herself. all of those hours spent music && drama club seemed to pay off, because in a little over one year, she was told of her début with wish.  003.  //  at first, she loved being an idol, especially after samsoo débuted, too. however, since wish’s schedule was unrelenting for a very long time, she started to grow bored of her routine. now, all she wants to do is live a normal life, which she took for granted now after becoming an idol. truth is, she loves her job, but can’t stand it at the same time, so she’s been acting out a whole lot as of late. she’s your typical good-girl-gone-bad trope, to be honest. please love her!
