cold shower after coming back at 7 pm from internship walking 1 hour all the way home inthe heat! fuck yeah
#'why walk' you ask. well you see. scorching and humid hot arrived out of nowhere last week#and waiting still at a bus stop for 15 minutes is worse than 1 hour of walk because the air doesn't move#but if i walk it does! lmao. so anyway#i ate lunch at 3 pm becausw lab work was unending and laborious#sat doing bench work for 2 hours in a 4°C room not able to stop or i'd have lost count of the procedure steps#then back outside where it was over 30°C. then went back to 4°C for more procedures#then more work requiring almost surgical precision#not only this but lab mates confronted me about a weird person literally telling to my face she'd kill my mother#yeah that's right. someone like this exists and of course i have to deal with them. she thought it was funny to say#labmate (grad student? phd student?) told me how she was horrified at the comment. as well as everyone else#we had a bit of a talk. i'm lucky i ended up where these people are. i feel somewhat safe. seen even#they say i'm strong and have a powerful aura despite my perception of myself. and they couldn't believe how solid i was at that comment#they don't know what i've put up with till now. i can handle myself and they see this. they still chose to stand up for me#it feels nice. part of me will always feel i don't deserve it or it's not real and they talk behind my back probably#but it's nice to witness. it feels genuine. maybe they do see me and like what they see both work and person wise#and it's reassuring. so anyway i'm tired#gonna look for something to eat and i#and i'll chill. hopefully nothing stressful happens. if it does i won't guarantee my nerves of steel to work more today. lol

Hii
After what happened that i poisoned some people with Styrofoam wine... Guess none of you would receive some food as compensation from me
So have the recipe for digital stew i guess
Ingredients ( 4 people serves )
1 onion
1 corn
2 carrots
2 tomatoes
3 potatoes
3 cups of water
2 cups of wine or your favorite poison
700 g of beef
2 tbsp of butter
bay leaves
salt and pepper
Preparation
First scan your ingredients into your printer. You can also use some stock image from the internet, but i recommend fresh ingredients
Chop your vegetables into fourths, leaving big chunks because this will be cooked slowly
Convert your vegetables into a PNG if possible. The recipe also works with JPEG, the problem is that you would need to remove all of the background, as that part produces a bitter taste
Actual Recipe
Start by melting the butter in the pot. Adding the onions and beef and frying them till golden brown
Then add the potatoes corn and carrots, also with the 3 cups of water
Add salt and pepper to taste
Add a cup of wine and drink the other one, you deserve it
Ahmm … let it boil for 1 hour
It's normal at that time your computer or device would overheat. Do not worry that the stew cooking
Now add the tomatoes, the bay leaves and test for salt and pepper
Now it 's ready !
Save in your favorite folder and enjoy

It's actually crazy how having the streets lined with tall mature trees helps with the heat. Sure my walk back from work was in 85-90°F and 90% humidity and sucked, but once I got to my actual neighborhood with the tree lined streets, it was at least bearable.
Anyways don't tell my parents but I think I might actually prefer a humid heart to dry heat now. Or perhaps it's due to the strength of the sun being much stronger in the southwest cluster of states than the northeast cluster of states.

Temperature and Humidity Meter
Tumblr media
Labotronics temperature and humidity is a portable, handheld meter measures humidity and temperature levels with dew point indicator. The sensors change its electrical properties with the surrounding environment and convert into respective reading mode.It measure temperature range at-35 °C~100 °C and humidity 0 % RH~100 % RH and display the results with its resoultions 0.1 °C/°F and 0.1 respectively. The dew point indicate moisture in the air can condense on surfaces and aware the risk of equipment corrosion. The unit automatically shuts down after 15 minutes of inactivity.

don’t get me wrong i think they’d put so much effort into a relationship they care about but unfortunately they are gross icky dirty stinky military men (all love no hate)Ā
—
price changes into the exact same shirt after his post-deployment shower every. single. time. no one knows how long he has had it—you have considered sending it in all its yellow-pit-stained glory to a lab to be carbon dated bc that thing is straight primeval. if (god forbid) you subtly replace it with a new one he will subtly dig through the trash to retrieve it.Ā
soap believes in an open-bathroom policy. you’re adults in a relationship in a one-bathroom apartment and it wouldn’t be a problem except every once in a while he shits when you shower. it is straight foul. the humidity, heat, and stench are primed to create an atmosphere that is 1000% inhospitable. your very vocal complaints are met only with cackles.
gaz leaves the remnants of his shaved facial hair caked to the sink as a fun little surprise for you each morning. he cooks, he cleans, he takes out the trash—he really is the perfect partner, save for the little dark hairs that await you each time you wake and go to brush your teeth.
ghost has the worlds most terrible morning breath. the man survives off of cigarettes and black tea and lord knows that combination is straight dastardly in the morning. his ā€˜good morning’ kiss and murmuredĀ Ā ā€œmorning, lovieā€ before he brushes his teeth take a week off your lifespan each time. -10000HP on god

hey you said that you study lichen, does that include growing them? my mum keeps trying to grow lichen off fallen branches and they just die. does anyone know how to grow them?
So my lab is one of many lichen lab groups trying to grow lichens and like, no, you really can't. Even with our super specialized equipment and knowledge and light and climate and humidity controls, we can only grow lichens for a short amount of time. Lichens function on a completely different time-scale than a lot of other organisms. They grow very slowly, and so adapt pretty precisely to where they are. And if something in their environment changes or they move to a new location, their first response is to go into a dormant state and wait for conditions to improve, and if possible, slowly adapt to these new conditions outside the scale of human observation. I am talking like, decades of slow progress. We also think that the microorganisms associated with lichens might play a more key role in their growth than we are aware of, but that is just a theory. Don't quote me on that. We still aren't entirely sure. Lots of folks are trying to figure this out in light of climate change and expanding habitat degradation--both to better understand lichen adaptability and ecophysiological responses to this rapidly changing world, and to house and cultivate endangered species before we lose them in nature.
Also as a side note, there's a cafe in my town that has a "moss wall" that is just Cladonia lichen dyed green (the kind you often find in craft stores). The waiter there was like "It's living! We spray it every day so it stays healthy!" and I was just like . . . girl ok whatever.

Trapped (yautja x human)
Part 2
(I was originally going to keep this as just a little prompt, but your support meant the world to me. So here it is! Part 2 šŸ’š)
Read Part 1 | Part 3 šŸ’š
Tumblr media
The battle unfolded in front of you, the xenomorph looking like it had the upper hand. The yautja had no armor, no weapons, but it was fighting back hard, using its talons to stab at the xeno and shove it away.
When the xenomorph finally had the yautja pinned to the floor, its inner jaw (something you’d studied countless times and always found horrifying) extended out of its mouth. That’s when you thought: this is your chance to run.ļæ¼
You bolted out of the lab, smacking your hand against the panel to shut the door behind you. You didn’t look back. You didn’t want to. You just searched desperately for someone, anyone, (preferably human) who could help you.
That’s when the worst realization hit you: everyone was gone. They must’ve evacuated the moment the yautja escaped.
At the end of the corridor, you saw blood. Red blood. There had been a fight. But it wasn’t the yautja’s, otherwise the floor would be painted in that neon green you’d come to recognize so well.
You ran, lungs burning, mind blank, trying to think of anything -anything- that could help you survive. But panic had a grip on your brain, and you couldn’t think fast enough.
The facility was still under lockdown, but then… the doors started opening. All of them. At once. You knew you had only minutes before something worse found you, something that had already taken out the guards at the far end of the base.
You forced yourself to take a breath and closed your eyes. One image came to mind: the most secure room in the entire facility. The place the yautja had been held. It wouldn’t go back there, no way.
You remembered exactly where the room was and sprinted toward it, hoping you could get inside and lock it before it was too late.
You turned left down another corridor… more red stains. More blood. You couldn’t understand how the yautja had escaped and managed to injure so many people on the way out.
No bodies, though. Maybe they’d gotten away, wounded, but alive.
The door to the room stood open, like every other door. You tried not to think too hard about why the alarms had stopped or why everything was unlocked.
Had the yautja figured out the system? Or had the situation been ā€œcontainedā€?
You didn’t care. You rushed inside and went straight for the glass chamber where the yautja had been kept unconscious.
You knew how strong that thing was, nothing could break it. Not even another alien.
The chamber door was open. You slipped inside and sealed it behind you.
It was small, you couldn’t fully sit down if you tried. It had been designed to hold the yautja upright, strapped at the back.
The only problem now was that you were completely visible. If anything walked in, you were a glowing target in a glass box. No cover, nowhere to hide.
Still, the door was locked. You could feel the humid air around you, engineered to mimic the yautja’s natural environment.
You waited. And waited.
Then… movement. A shadow crossed the lab’s entrance. You froze.
You knew how silent these creatures were, perfect hunters. No footsteps. No sound. You’d always found their stealth fascinating. Studying the yautja had taught you that much.
Over the last few months, you’d gotten familiar with this specific specimen. You were certain it was male. But you still referred to it as ā€œthe yautja. The last thing you wanted was to start feeling attached.
The growing shadow at the doorway snapped you out of your thoughts. You crouched down again, trying to make yourself small. Hoping (somehow) it wouldn’t see you.
But how could it not? You were in a damn glass chamber!
The yautja stepped into the room. Its movements were slow, calculated. Silent as always.
Then you saw it, green blood dripping from its left shoulder. The xenomorph must’ve gotten in a bite after all.
For a second, you felt a strange kind of relief. You weren’t dealing with a xenomorph anymore, you were facing something that at least recognized you.
The yautja turned its head. Looked at you. Then looked away…
Just… ignored you. Like you weren’t a threat. Or worth bothering with.
And honestly, that was fine by you. Even if it wanted to get to you, it couldn’t break through the glass.
Probably.

Hi! Could I request Jade Leech(and maybe one with Rook) and the reader in a kind of enemies to lovers setting, bit suggestive too if possible. How would this play out? Who would confess first and how? I really like your other work, such as the proposals! Thanks for the hard work!
Enemies To Lover
( ✧ ) ────── pre-boyfriend stories . fluff/drama - gn!reader .
- [šœš”.] jade . rook
- [š©:š¬] Suggestive Themes / Mild Sexual Tension . Minor Injury Mention (Jade’s scene) . Emotional Tension / Power Dynamics . Flirting & Verbal Sparring
Note: Yes, I WAS giggling to myself when writing this 😭. Also thank you so much for complimenting my work!! And your always welcome, I love writing honestly. Hopefully, these met to all of your expectations!!
Jade Leech
Tumblr media
At first, you couldn't stand Jade Leech.
It wasn't just the calm, knowing smile or his cryptic metaphors that coiled around your patience like seaweed. It was how he always seemed two steps ahead of you—especially when you were most vulnerable. He had a way of cornering you in conversations that felt like traps, laced with double meanings and gentle mockery. You'd always leave flustered, teeth clenched, cheeks burning.
The tension began in Potionology, where you were inexplicably paired for a semester-long project. Jade was composed as ever, his voice dipped in cool politeness, but you knew he relished your irritation. Every comment he made was deliberately vague, every instruction laced with subtle barbs about your technique, your handwriting, your "charming eagerness to prove yourself."
But things changed the night you got locked in the botanical greenhouse together during a rare lunar bloom.
You had been arguing—again—over dosage measurements. Jade was annoyingly close, leaning over your shoulder, his breath ghosting over your neck as he "corrected" your notes. One word led to another until the heated exchange turned into silence, the tension hanging thick and humid in the air, laced with the scent of phosphorescent flowers and damp earth.
That’s when he said it, voice low: "You’re far more entertaining when you stop pretending to hate me."
You turned sharply, ready to bark something back, but Jade was already closer than you expected—closer than he should’ve been. His eyes, no longer mockingly half-lidded, held something sharper, darker. Something curious.
ā€œYou play your role well,ā€ he continued, stepping just a little closer, ā€œbut I wonder what would happen if you stopped resisting. I think you'd find me quite... intoxicating.ā€
Your heart thundered, and your tongue stumbled. Jade smirked, but not cruelly this time—it was amused, hungry.
And for once, you didn’t pull away.
The tension that had defined your partnership slowly morphed after that night. The teasing didn’t stop—but it changed. Became flirtatious, laced with a promise. You caught him watching you from across the room with that unreadable expression, and your body would react before your brain could process.
He touched your hand longer during lab work. He began seeking you out under the guise of casual conversation. The tension was no longer frustrating—it was magnetic.
The confession came unexpectedly.
After a House of Heartsbanquet duel, you’d ended up with a shallow cut on your arm. Jade found you alone in the infirmary afterward, and the moment he saw the blood, his demeanor shifted.
ā€œThis would hurt less,ā€ he murmured, wiping it with practiced care, ā€œif you'd stop leaping into danger without considering the consequences.ā€
ā€œAnd you’d care why?ā€ you shot back, still trying to keep up the old defense.
His hands paused. His voice dropped.
ā€œBecause I hate watching you bleed,ā€ he said. ā€œAnd because, despite everything... I've come to care for you far more than I intended.ā€
You stared, throat dry.
He leaned in, fingers grazing your jaw, gaze devouring.
ā€œDo I need to be plainer, dear pearl? Or shall I let you keep pretending you don’t crave the games as much as I do?ā€
Rook Hunt
Tumblr media
Rook was a menace. A poetic, theatrical, irrepressibly present menace.
From the moment you crossed paths, he decided you were fascinating. "A mystery cloaked in fire!" he’d exclaimed once after you rolled your eyes at his compliments. ā€œSo much fury, and yet... such beauty in resistance.ā€
You hated it. You hated how he waxed poetic about your every motion. You hated how he always seemed to appear out of nowhere with a smile and an unsolicited metaphor. And most of all—you hated how a part of you thrilled at his attention.
You sparred with him constantly. Quips, eye-rolls, mock salutes. You refused to give him the satisfaction of a blush. But Rook never wavered. He treated your rebukes like gifts, each barb only sharpening his interest.
Still, things came to a head during the VDC preparation week.
Tensions were high. You were co-leaders on a choreography segment—Rook for his elegance, you for your sheer grit and precision. But rehearsal after rehearsal saw friction, each of you trying to pull the routine in different directions. He wanted grace; you wanted impact.
After a particularly heated disagreement, you stormed off, breath ragged, only for Rook to follow, not with scolding—but silence. You turned on him behind the training hall, furious.
ā€œWhy do you care so much about how I move?!ā€
He stared at you, expression serious—uncharacteristically so.
ā€œBecause you move like a storm, and I—I want to be the one to weather it.ā€
You froze.
ā€œI do not admire you despite your fire,ā€ he whispered, stepping closer. ā€œI am entranced because of it. Your strength, your fury—they are beautiful. You do not see it, but I do.ā€
Your back hit the wall as he came nearer, gloved hand gently brushing your wrist. His lips hovered close, not quite touching.
ā€œAnd the hunter,ā€ he murmured, ā€œonly chases what he cannot forget.ā€
You trembled—not from fear.
The line between your hate and desire shattered that night.
Afterward, Rook’s pursuit turned softer. Less dramatic, more intimate. He started learning what quiet things made you smile. He touched your shoulder during idle conversation. He sought your opinion, not to challenge—but to understand.
And the night of the performance, when you both stood backstage, breathless from adrenaline, it was you who pulled him aside.
ā€œI can’t stand you,ā€ you whispered. ā€œBut I can’t... stop thinking about you either.ā€
Rook’s smile bloomed like sunlight through trees.
ā€œThen the hunt was mutual all along,ā€ he said, before leaning in and kissing you—deep, slow, reverent.
